OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran admits he and Taylor Swift take their competitive streak “too far”.
The ‘Castle on the Hill’ singer thinks one of the reasons why he and the ‘Bad Blood’ hitmaker are such good friends is they both know what it was like to be the “underdog” at school and are determined to dey expectations and be the biggest artists in the world
He said: “There’s an underdog element to it. Taylor was never the popular kid in school. I was never the popular kid in school.
“Then you get to the point when you become the most popular kid in school – and we both take it a bit too far.
“She wants to be the biggest female artist in the world and I want to be the biggest male artist in the world. It also comes from always being told that you can’t do something and being like, ‘F you. I can.’ ”
While the 25-year-old star insists he isn’t in competition with other singer/songwriters, he has his eye on outselling Adele, though he knows that is a goal that will be tough to achieve.
He told the new issue of Britain’s GQ magazine: “Adele is the one person who’s sold more records than me in the past ten years. She’s the only person I need to sell more records than. That’s a big f***ing feat because her last album sold 20 million. But if I don’t set her as the benchmark then I’m selling myself short.
“I’m not in competition [creatively] because we all sit in our own lanes, but once the creative product is out there is a race to the finish line.”
And the ‘Shape of You’ singer doesn’t care if other artists “copy every single thing” he does because he is confident in his own abilities and will do whatever it takes to be successful.
He added: “There are a lot of singer-songwriters around now. I’m not the first but there are more than before. I’m very happy for everyone to be in the same race as me, even if they copy every single thing I’ve done.
“In a 100m sprint to get a No1 album I just know I’m going to win. I don’t care who’s doing what. I just know I’m going to win. I’m going to make sure I come first.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shia LaBeouf was charged with misdemanour assault and harassment after being arrested on Wednesday (25.01.17) evening.
The ‘Nymphomaniac’ actor was taken into custody by police following an alleged scuffle with a man at his ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ livestream anti-Donald Trump protest – which has been ongoing since the Republican took office last week – in New York but was released from custody on Thursday (26.01.17) morning.
As he left the building, Shia waved to supporters and said: “We will not be divided!”
Police claim the ‘American Honey’ star ripped the scarf off a 25-year-old man who interfered with the ongoing demonstration at the Museum of Moving Image, scratched his face and pushed him to the ground.
Shia must appear in court over the alleged incident on April 7.
The ‘Transformers’ actor returned to the protest numerous times on Thursday and was greeted by cheers from fellow demonstrators.
Representatives for the museum insist they are not put off by the rows with protesters but told TMZ they consider the site more of an art exhibition and expect people who show up to “act with common decency and respect”.
They will continue to monitor what goes on during the live stream.
The ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ art installation was created by Shia along with artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner and the museum intend to run the live stream throughout President Trump’s time in office.
Veteran actor Jon Voight recently described Shia’s proposed four-year protest as “treason”.
The ‘Ray Donovan’ star has been a vocal supporter of the controversial new president and singled out the ‘Fury’ star and singer Miley Cyrus – who attended the Women’s March in Los Angeles over the weekend – for not setting a good example.
He said: “When you see the young people like Shia LaBeouf and Miley Cyrus, they have a lot of followers, young people are looking at them and what are they teaching?
“They’re teaching treason, they’re teaching going up against the government, not accepting the will of the people on this Presidency and it’s a very sad day when I see this.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Robin Thicke has been ordered to stay away from Paula Patton and their son after his ex-wife accused him of domestic violence.
The 39-year-old singer must stay at least 100 yards away from the ‘Warcraft’ actress – whom he divorced in 2015 – six-year-old son Julian, and Paula’s mother Joyce Patton, after the brunette beauty claimed he had punched and kicked her during their marriage and recently stood outside her mom’s house for two hours demanding to see the youngster.
Larry Bakman, Paula’s attorney, wrote in the request for the restraining order: “[Patton] is in reasonable apprehension of imminent serious bodily injury to herself and the child.”
According to TMZ.com, the restraining order is in place “until further notice”.
Both Robin and Paula had gone to court on Thursday (26.01.17) seeking complete temporary sole custody of Julian, but the singer was told to stay away after the restraining order was issued.
And in documents obtained by People, Paula accused her former husband of “physical and emotional abuse, infidelity and drug and alcohol addiction”.
The paperwork recalled one incident in 2013 when Robin allegedly “became physically violent” with the 41-year-old actress.
Paula stated in the documents: “[I] observed him to have inappropriate contact with the masseuse … Robin became so enraged that I had interrupted his ‘massage’ that he broke down the locked door.
“Robin became physically violent with me. He pushed me down and kicked me.”
Paula also claims Robin became violent when the pair attended Cannes Film Festival that same year.
She added: “We began fighting. Robin hit me with a closed fist to my upper body and then pushed me onto the ground.”
And the ‘Precious’ actress stated she wanted to leave the musician at the time of his alleged outbursts, but was “fearful of angering him”.
She claimed in her declaration: “I wanted to leave Robin but at the same time, I was incredibly fearful of angering him, and I did not want our son to grow up in a broken home. I was afraid of Robin’s volatility, his retribution.
“He would often threaten that he would leave both of us penniless given IRS tax liens incurred by him during the course of the marriage.”
However, Pierce di Donato, the attorney for the ‘Blurred Lines’ hitmaker, says these claims only surfaced after Paula found herself in “a position of contempt” as she refused to take a drugs test.
He said in a statement: “Paula never reported any domestic violence until she was in a position of contempt by violating the custody orders. DCFS asked both Paula and Robin to drug test. Robin agreed and submitted to his test, but Paula refused to test. Infidelity has nothing to do with custody. She is attempting to throw anything at him to hurt him, but Robin’s focus is their son.”
And according to TMZ, the singer claimed Los Angeles’ Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) have closed an investigation into him for allegedly spanking Julian too hard, but are now probing his ex-wife for “emotional abuse”.
The allegation is said to involve claims Paula has intentionally tried to alienate Julian from his father.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd was reportedly “taken by” Selena Gomez when they both performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2015.
The 26-year-old musician – who was previously in an 18-month relationship with model Bella Hadid – has reportedly been romancing the ‘Hands To Myself’ hitmaker since they were spotted locking lips outside a restaurant in Santa Monica earlier this month, but sources have now claimed there were “sparks” between the pair when they first met at the lingerie giant’s annual fashion show.
An insider claimed: “There were sparks when they first met at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2015.
“They both performed and The Weeknd was just taken by Selena.”
The source also claims that whilst 24-year-old Selena thought the ‘Starboy’ singer – real name Abel Tesfaye – was “cute”, she wasn’t about to step on any toes when the hunk was in a relationship.
They added to HollywoodLife.com: “[Selena] thought he was cute, but he was in a relationship [with Bella Hadid].”
Despite not wanting to cause a stir at the time, sources have since claimed Selena “doesn’t have any stipulations” about starting a relationship with the ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ hitmaker now that he’s single, as she’s never been close to Bella or her sister Gigi Hadid.
A source said previously: “Selena is not good friends with either Gigi or Bella. She knows them through other people, but they are just acquaintances.

OHMYGOSSIP — Betty White has broken her silence on close friend Mary Tyler Moore’s death.
The 95-year-old actress took to Instagram on Friday (27.01.17) to pay tribute to her late co-star – who died aged 80 on Wednesday (25.01.17) – by sharing a picture with her former spouse Allen Ludden, who died in 1981, and Grant Tinker, who was married to Mary until 1981.
Alongside the old photo, Betty – who was previously married to Dick Barker and Lane Allen in the 1940s – wrote: “Mary Tyler Moore, Grant Tinker, Allen Ludden and I had some of the best times of my life together. She was special (sic)”
The pair starred alongside each other in ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ in 70s.
Most recently Mary appeared as a guest on the TV show ‘Hot in Cleveland’ in 2011 and 2013, where she was reunited with her Betty.
Tributes have flooded in for Mary since the news of her death from cardiopulmonary arrest after a week on a ventilator.
Michael Keaton, 65, remembered the “incredibly funny and completely generous” friend he worked with on ‘Mary’ and ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Hour’ in the late 1970s.
He told People in a statement: “Mary Tyler Moore could light up a room! She is an icon and a friend.
“She was my cast mate and my boss. She was incredibly funny and completely generous.
“As an actor and comedian, she allowed me and everyone to perform. Letting us just do our thing without any competitiveness.
“She was not only a pioneer in TV, comedy and business but she was a role model for women in general. She built an empire with MTM Enterprises and she paved the way for our new talents like Amy, Tina and others. She is truly going to be missed.”
And Oprah Winfrey reflected on meeting her idol as she shared an old photo of herself and Mary.
She wrote on Twitter: “Even now looking at this picture I want to cry.
“I still can’t believe Mary Tyler Moore touched my face. Will love her 4 ever.”
She also posted a separate message on Instagram which read: “Dear Mary, You already know how you majorly influenced my life and career.

Jimmy Fallon took a moment on his ‘Tonight Show’ to hail the television “pioneer” who felt like a part of his family growing up.

She’s been on television my whole life. Me and my family would have dinners and watch ‘Mary Tyler Moore Show’, so I almost feel like she was part of my family too.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mischa Barton has reportedly been hospitalised for “mental evaluation”.
The former ‘O.C.’ actress – who has a long history of mental health issues – was reportedly overheard by neighbours acting strangely making bizarre remarks about her estranged mother Nuala Barton being a “witch” and was photographed by TMZ falling off her garden fence, after she shouted: “‘Oh my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry.'”
According to the gossip website, emergency services were informed of a potential overdose or someone trying to jump.
The 31-year-old star was then reportedly voluntarily taken to a nearby hospital in West Hollywood to seek an evaluation of her mental state.
Mischa was placed under psychiatric care in 2009 after threatening to kill herself, and though she was never actually suicidal, she admitted she felt very “depressed” and was struggling to cope with life.
She previously said: “It was a full-on breakdown. It was terrifying. I was never suicidal, I was just overworked and depressed. But one slip of the tongue in a heightened moment and you find yourself in that situation.”
Meanwhile, last summer the blonde beauty was ordered to pay $200,000 after she ditched a movie to go on holiday.
She had to pay the hefty sum to screenwriter Daniel Lief after he sued her when she bailed on his movie ‘Promoted’, for which she had been cast in the lead role.
Lief – who decided to sue the ‘Notting Hill’ actress when he saw pictures of her on social media travelling around Europe – claimed the delay in production and the need to recast the lead role cost him more than $300,000, according TMZ.
Meanwhile, Mischa found herself involved in another big legal dispute after she accused her mom of deliberately delaying the sale of the Beverly Hills home they both own by making sure potential buyers couldn’t access the house.
And it is not the first time Mischa has taken legal action against her mother after previously filing court papers to recoup “loss of earnings” she claims she has suffered.

A source told E! News: “Bradley has been there for her and is loving seeing the baby grow inside her.

The ‘One Dance’ rapper starred in Canada’s popular television series ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ as basketball player Jimmy Brooks from 2001 to 2009 – before he became an global hip-hop superstar – and was forced to leave the show because bosses found out he had been working on music, but he has now expressed his desire to go back to his old passion.
The 30-year-old musician – who is reportedly dating Jennifer Lopez – plans on furthering his career as an actor after he releases his ‘More Life’ project, which is slated for release later this year.
In an interview for University of Kentucky’s basketball coach John Calipari’s ‘Cal Cast’ podcast, he shared: “Acting is another thing that I just can’t wait to really dive into, I think after I release ‘More Life’, which is this playlist I’m working on and finish this tour. I think I’m going to really start to position myself in the acting world and, hopefully, take some great roles.”
The ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker’s “biggest fear” in life is that he is missing out on something by not dedicating his time to certain things.

The ‘Vampire Diaries’ star and the ‘Hidden Figures’ actor have made no secret of their close bond by sharing pictures together on social media, and while a representative for the pair says “they are good friends”, insiders have revealed they’ve been “seeing each other on the low”.
A source told E! News: “They have a similar group of friends and have been seeing each other on the low for a little while.
“Glen really likes Nina. She is completely his type of gal. They know and have met each other’s families. Glen is a very family oriented guy and Nina loves that about him.”
And they get on so well that their close friends think they’d make the perfect couple.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John is scoring a musical adaption of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.
The ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker has teamed up with Hollywood writer and tunesmith Paul Rudnick for the new production based on the 2006 film – which starred Meryl Streep as fierce Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway as aspiring journalist Andrea Sachs – and the original 2003 tome of the same name by Lauren Weisberger.
The 69-year-old music legend is thrilled to be involved and can’t wait to “sink his musical teeth” into the project.
He said: “Re-imagining ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ for the musical theatre is super exciting.
“I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world.
“I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
Elton has extensive experience in the musical industry having written 1997’s ‘The Lion King’ and 2008’s ‘Billy Elliot: The Musical’, with both winning Tony Awards.
Producer Kevin McCollum and Bob Cohen from Fox Stage Productions felt there was no other people for the job than the ‘Rocket Man’ singer and the 59-year-old screenwriting legend – whose credits include ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘Sister Act’.
They added: “To bring ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ to the stage we knew we needed to find some artists as inimitable as the characters in the story.
“We needed artists whose work has run the gamut from music and publishing to drama and fashion.
“We could only think of two names: Elton John and Paul Rudnick.”
As of yet a casting list and a timescale for when the musical will hit Broadway is yet to be confirmed.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber is working on “something special” for his fans before taking a break from music.
The ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker has teased his 91.4 million followers by giving an update on the mysterious project he is planning to share, hours after a source said he is going on one-year hiatus to travel after his “gruelling” ‘Purpose World Tour’.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday (26.01.17), the 22-year-old pop superstar wrote: “Working on something special (sic)”
And a source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Justin’s been recording some new music in LA to sign off with and then he plans to go travel for a bit.
“His ‘Purpose World Tour’ has been gruelling and Justin is looking forward to a bit of peace and getting back to nature.”
The ‘What Do You Mean?’ singer continues his tour in Mexico in February and is coming to London on July 2, where he will headline British Summer Time in Hyde Park.
However, come autumn he’ll be following in the footsteps of pal Ed Sheeran and taking some time out for himself.
The insider added: “Fans can look forward to new music this year, but after September don’t expect to see much of Justin for a long time.”
It comes after Paris Jackson – the daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson – said she was concerned about the ‘Cold Water’ star’s wellbeing as he has the same tour promoters as the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker in AEG Live, and feels they have overworked him.
Recalling seeing Bieber on tour, the 18-year-old aspiring actress said: “He was tired, going through the motions. I looked at my ticket, saw AEG Live, and I thought back to how my dad was exhausted all the time but couldn’t sleep.”
However sources close to the hunky pop star have said he’s “not at all scared or overworked” and is “in the best health and state of mind he’s ever been in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone feared she wouldn’t be able to “sing or dance again” when she was sick while performing in Broadway’s ‘Cabaret’.
The 28-year-old actress could have missed out on her role in critically-acclaimed musical blockbuster ‘La La Land’ because when she met with director Damien Chazelle in New York in 2014 to discuss the part, she had completely lost her voice while still performing in the show.
She told the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter: “I was very sick. My voice was gone, and I was struggling to get through the shows – I was still doing ‘Cabaret’ – the idea of doing another musical was like, ‘You’ve got to be to be out of your mind.’
After ‘Cabaret’, I wasn’t sure I would ever sing or dance again.”
However. she was soon persuaded and landed the part co-starring alongside Ryan Gosling, who she had previously worked with on 2013’s ‘Gangster Squad’ and 2011’s ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’.
‘La La Land’ has bagged an impressive 14 nominations at this year’s Oscars, and the flame-haired beauty has received a nod for Best Actress, which is “beyond any of her wildest imaginings”.
When she found out, Emma said: “What a morning. I am so grateful for this honour and I’m so happy to share this feeling with my ‘La La Land’ family. The greatest part of life is connecting with people, and I love the deeply talented, kind and passionate people I was lucky enough to work with on this movie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nina Dobrev has confirmed she will appear in the season finale of ‘The Vampire Diaries’.
The 28-year-old actress is to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert for the last ever series of the popular CW supernatural drama, which she has revealed will be titled ‘I Was Feeling Epic’, and will be aired on Friday March 10.
Sharing the news of her return on Instagram alongside a photo of the script, she wrote: “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever (sic)”
The final has been penned by co-creators Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, who are over the moon that the ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ star has come back for one last episode.
Plec said: “I’m thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended – with Nina back to help us say goodbye.”
Williamson added: “I’m so excited to have Nina back to ensure our farewell episode is truly epic.”
The brunette beauty left the show after series six in 2014, reflecting on her character’s journey at the time, she said: “I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. The ‘Ride Along 2’ star welcomed her three-month-old daughter Ella-Loren into the world in October, and has revealed her partner, who she hasn’t revealed the name of, got down on one knee on Christmas Day (25.12.16) after giving her a letter from their little girl.
Asked about the ring on her engagement finger while appearing on US Talk show ‘The Real’, she told host Loni Love: “He did all of these amazing things. I went on a little hunt in the house. And I was like, ‘Oh, he’s going to propose’ … It was a Peloton (indoor) bike he bought me. I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool!’
“And then he had a letter behind Ella and he’s like, ‘Ella has something to say to you.’ And it was just this letter of beauty. And then he proposed. It was just simple and just awesome.”
The 36-year-old beauty makes a habit of keeping her private life secret, as she chose to hide her pregnancy for seven months because she wanted to enjoy the experience all by herself.

“I didn’t want to hear, ‘Who’s the dad?’ Social media can be harsh, and I’m a mama bear, protective of my family. So that’s why I waited to tell people, including some of my friends. My friends weren’t mad at me. They said, ‘You did it the way you wanted to do it. You’re an inspiration.'”
Recalling when she found out she was expecting, the ‘Southside with You’ actress said: “I found out around Valentine’s Day, when my boyfriend took me on a surprise trip to San Diego. I never want McDonald’s, but I was like, ‘I need a Big Mac, fries and a Coke now.’ Afterward, I immediately fell asleep.
“When I woke up, my boyfriend was like, ‘Haha! Are you pregnant?’ I said, ‘Maybe. Go get a test!’ He brought back a generic-brand test, and right away it said positive. I could not comprehend it. So I said, ‘Go get a name-brand test!’ He did, and that one said yes too. I still have the stick. I had to show it to my mom, because she didn’t even believe me when I told her.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone was “overwhelmed by the energy” of Hollywood.
The ‘La La Land’ star opted to move to the East Coast in 2009 after becoming disillusioned by being so “surrounded” by the entertainment industry.
She said: “I started to feel overwhelmed by the energy of Hollywood. I would go places, and all anybody could talk about was the entertainment industry. I just felt too surrounded by that … Losing my anonymity after Easy A, it was like being 7 years old all over again. It terrified me.”
And despite finding fame over 10 years ago, the 28-year-old actress admits she still struggles with parts of her job and admits she has to “breathe and get centred” before each interview.
She explained: “Before any interview, I have to sit with myself for five minutes and breathe and get centred because I get so nervous.
“Interviews are kind of like therapy, except all your answers are being written down and printed. I always want to be on the other side of it. I don’t want to be deconstructed for millions. I’d rather do the deconstructing.”
And the flame-haired beauty feels acting has helped keep her anxiety at bay.
She told the Hollywood Reporter magazine: “I think my parents saw that acting was the thing that made me fulfilled and happy.”
Meanwhile, Emma is “honoured” that ‘La La Land’ received 14 Oscar nominations including one for herself in the Best Actress in a Lead Role category for her starring role as Mia in the romantic musical.
She added: “That kind of stuff is amazing and an honour and very crazy, but it’s something that I can get into too much of a tizzy about. Although I did have a day in October when I got myself really freaked out.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Bose has been waiting for a project like ‘Lion’ for a long time.
The actress – who plays Kamla Munshi, the biological mother to Dev Patel’s Saroo in the hit movie – doesn’t feel she has followed the “model turned wannabe actor” route into Bollywood and admits she can “sometimes feel very left out”.
She said: “There is a dark hole sometimes because I have this hyper ambition about the type of artist or actor I want to be, and you know, in India, I’m not valued that much for this intensity. There are different ways of thinking and casting in Bollywood, and I’m not the prototype who has been say, a model turned wannabe actor – a beauty queen who’s come into acting.
“I sometimes I feel very left out because I’m just different in my sensibilities … but I keep beating the same drum saying, listen, look at me now, I am here to offer 110 percent. So when a project like ‘Lion’ comes up I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ve been waiting to exhale for all this time.'”
And Priyanka has opened up about how they achieved a particularly heart-wrenching scene when Saroo (Patel) finds himself reunited with his mother.
She told Du Jour magazine: “Because that scene was their reunion after an entire lifetime. Garth [Davis; director] and me and Dev workshopped a lot prior, and Dev and I got to know each other very intimately, in a very beautiful way.
“Then Garth made sure we didn’t see each other for about four days. And that caused so much detachment anxiety – I had no idea I was going to go through that! Both Dev and I were in the same boat, but we went with it and then we finally saw each other on set. He was looking for me in the crowd, and I was looking for him, and then we saw each other, and it was quite gorgeous.”
