Kelly Rowland's Super Bowl advice for Lady Gaga

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Rowland has urged Lady Gaga to not “black out” at the Super Bowl.
The ‘Kisses Down Low’ hitmaker headlined the famous half-time show at the sporting event in 2013 alongside her Destiny’s Child bandmates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams and has told her successor to just enjoy the “moment in time”.
Asked what advice she’d give the singer, she said: “It happened too fast – it literally happened so fast.
“I remember looking at my feet and the next thing I know we were exiting to the back to leave the field, and I was like, ‘What just happened?’ It happened so fast I would just say have fun, because it’s such a moment in time.”
And the 35-year-old singer is looking forward to tune into the performance and is “excited to see what tricks she’s gonna pull out of the bag”.
She added to People magazine: “She’s shown us the type of performer she is. I’m just excited to see what tricks she’s gonna pull out of the bag.
“I think a lot of people are excited to tune in because she’s come out of an egg, she’s had meat on her. This woman is just so brilliant and just innovative when it comes to performances, so I’m excited. She’s a sweetheart, so she’s gonna nail it.”
Lady Gaga has been busy rehearsing for the show and is reportedly keen to sing “on the roof” of the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
A source shared: “They’re writing up multiple plans about how to safely get her on the roof, including potentially [cutting] a hole in the ceiling of the dome. Trying to figure out insurance for it is crazy.”
The Super Bowl will take place on February 5.

Mariah Carey: Songwriting is 'very healing'

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey finds songwriting “very healing”.
The ‘We Belong Together’ hitmaker feels like a “different person” when she’s not in the studio.
Speaking to make up artist Kristofer in a preview for the season finale of her E! reality show ‘Mariah’s World’, she said: “I need to be in the studio. I feel like a different person when I’m not in the studio.
“Performing is a whole different thing, but being in the studio is creating and that’s what I love to do best. Songwriting is very healing for me. The studio and the experience of creating new music, it feels so much more like home to me than anywhere else.”
It comes after it was revealed the 46-year-old singer has penned a track about her split from James Packer.
Mariah recently recorded the song and an accompanying music video with YG and it is expected to make its debut during the season finale of her E! reality show ‘Mariah’s World’ this weekend.
Meanwhile, Mariah’s manager recently teased the star – who is dating back up dancer Bryan Tanaka – is busy working on a “secret project”.

“We’ll hopefully do, you know, holiday movies with them, and the first of which we were supposed to do this February, but of course we have this tour, so we had to push it. But we’ll get a good movie out to the public.”
And Mariah is said to be very happy with her new beau.
A source recently revealed: “They’re in a proper relationship
now. She’s really into Bryan. He’s with her 24/7. He’s a nice guy. They weren’t together when she broke up with James.”

George Michael had secret friendship with EastEnders actress Cheryl Fergison

OHMYGOSSIP — George Michael had a secret friendship with former ‘EastEnders’ actress Cheryl Fergison.
The 51-year-old actress played the bubbly launderette worker for five years and the character was a super-fan of George – who passed away on Christmas Day (25.12.16) at the age of 53 – and his former band Wham! and her obsession with the ‘Fast Love’ hitmaker was often referenced in storylines and she once even made a trip to what she thought was the musician’s house.
Cheryl has now revealed that she and George became pals as he was a fan of the BBC One soap and in particular her alter ego Heather and he would often send her gifts and signed memorabilia.
In an appearance on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (27.01.17), she shared: “I was lucky enough to have met him, I was lucky enough to have listened to him talking to me about storylines I was in. He used to send presents and signed gifts (to me). I’ve actually got a thing that says, ‘From a fan to a fan, love George.’ Things like this you just think, ‘Oh my gosh.’ It’s just so sad. Whatever troubles people have in their lives, whatever they are, you cannot deny that man was a talent beyond anything else and his heart was beautiful and his soul was beautiful and he had the most gorgeous voice. Those that didn’t like George Michael they must be aliens!”
Cheryl readily admits she was “devastated” when she heard the news of George’s passing.
In an eerie coincidence, Cheryl had recorded a voice part for an ‘EastEnders’ scene which aired on Christmas Eve (24.12.16) in which Dot Branning (June Brown) discovered an old cassette tape as she cleared out the launderette which was a music playlist Heather and her friend Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) had made and featured Heather talking about her love of George and Christmas.
Speaking about the scene which aired just hours before George died in the early hours of Christmas morning, she said: “I was very lucky to return to ‘EastEnders’ to do a little recording for the Christmas Eve episode which was this thing for Dot. So Dot was leaving the launderette and she had a cassette and it was memories of us and we were talking. Heather was a big George Michael fan – so am I – and I was basically talking about George, and I would say stuff like, ‘Oh Christmas isn’t Christmas without a bit of George and a bit of Wham!’ Then it must have been about 12 hours later that he passed away. I was devastated, absolutely devastated.”

Rochelle Humes quips she needs a DNA test for unborn baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle Humes joked she needed a DNA test on her unborn child.
The former member of The Saturdays – who has three-year-old daughter Alaia-Mai with her husband Marvin Humes and is currently pregnant with their second child – quipped that her ‘Ninja Warriors’ co-host Chris Kamara could be the father of her baby as she fell pregnant when she was filming for the ITV show.
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, she quipped Chris could be the father of her child before the footballer joked they should head to ITV’s The Jeremy Kyle Show, which is famed for offering DNA tests to their guests.
Rochelle joked with Chris: “We need DNA test results.”
To which he added: “It was last August.”
Rochelle then quipped: “I first found out I was pregnant about the time of Ninja Warriors so if it comes back with a ‘tache, we will know.”
And when host Ben Shephard – who also presents ‘Ninja Warriors’ alongside Rochelle and Chris – said he felt sorry for Marvin, Rochelle squealed back through laughter: “Poor old Marvin? Poor me, poor me!”
But on a more serious note, Rochelle is looking forward to relaxing for the next few weeks as the couple prepare for the baby’s arrival.
She said: “I will be on the sofa if anyone wants me after this. I’m really excited, we have got six weeks left.
“Alaia wants the baby to be a girl, so she can have a sister, but we don’t know.”
Meanwhile, Rochelle previously confessed she was thrilled she could keep her baby news secret for so long as she didn’t have that luxury the first time around.
She shared: “It was just super-close people that knew. The first time I found out I was pregnant unfortunately we got papped coming out of a scan which was early on, so I had that taken away from me, so this time I was like, I’m gonna be in control of this and keep it quiet as long as possible.’ We did really well, I now know we’ve got really good friends, because although they love a gossip they actually kept their mouths shut so I’m impressed.”

Patricia Arquette dreams about Alexis

OHMYGOSSIP — Patricia Arquette finds it really “hard” without her sister Alexis.
The 48-year-old actress had an emotional dream about her late sibling – who died last September aged 47 after suffering a heart attack – and after receiving a kind message from a fan who admitted she’d struggle to cope if she was in a similar position, the ‘Boyhood’ star revealed she isn’t finding it easy.
She tweeted: “It’s really hard.(sic)”
While Patricia’s dream was emotional, she was still able to admire the fashion sense her transgender sibling had displayed in the nocturnal vision.
She tweeted: “Dreamt about Alexis. She was 20 wearing a sequins 50s dress. I started crying & said I come from the future I’m your sister I love U so much.
“I think Dior made her dress. She has the best clothes over there! (sic)”
The ‘Wannabe’ star – who has son Enzo, 28, and daughter Harlow, 13, from past relationships – believed her dream was proof that love can “permeate anything”.
When one follower told how a dream about her late grandfather had allowed her to say goodbye, Patricia replied: “So sweet. Love can permeate anything.(sic)”
Patricia previously praised Alexis – who died from cardiac arrest following a long battle with HIV for refusing to compromise herself for the sake of her career.
She wrote following her sibling’s death: “Alexis was a brilliant artist and painter, a singer, an entertainer and an acto.
“Her career was cut short, not by her passing, but by her decision to live her truth and her life as a transgender woman. Despite the fact that there are few parts for trans actors, she refused to play roles that were demeaning or stereotypical. She was a vanguard in the fight for understanding and acceptance for all trans people.”

Molly Sims' labour shock

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly Sims was very “stressed” when she went into labour.
The 43-year-old actress and husband Scott Stuber welcomed son Grey into the world at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Senai hospital earlier this month, but she admits she hadn’t been expecting to have a natural birth as she was already booked in for a Caesarean section, the same process by which she delivered her older kids, Brooks, four, and Scarlett, 21 months.
She said in a video on her YouTube page: “I’d never really gone through labour because both my babies were C-sections because of complications with my pregnancies.
“I thought for sure this is going to be a C-section…
“I can’t tell you how stressed I was. I was trying to make my husband go through red lights on Sunset [Boulevard] because we live quite far from Cedars.
“We got into an argument because he wouldn’t run a red light, because I was having contractions.”
And when she got to the hospital, Molly even tried to convince the doctors she wasn’t in labour and could “hold off” until her planned section the following day.
She added: “Nevertheless, I was in full-on labour.”
Molly admitted she was “scared to death” about having to give birth naturally.
Thanking the hospital staff, she said: “Thank you, Megan Palermo, for teaching this girl to breathe and knowing what contractions are.
“It was so great. I have to say, I was scared to death … and then when they finally said it was a go, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ ”
When it came to naming Grey, Molly admitted her oldest son had a lot of influence – though she rejected his choice of middle names in favour of Douglas.
She said: “Brooks had a lot to do with the name.
“I know that sounds weird, but he would not give up on ‘Grey.’ It was ‘Grey Jack and the Beanstalk Batman’ all the way.”
And the baby’s name seemed even more appropriate because he was born on a cloudy day.
She added: “Living in California, you’re always used to sunny skies, and clear, but it was raining and very grey outside, so it was kind of suitable in a weird sort of way.”

Agyness Deyn doesn't listen to gossip

OHMYGOSSIP — Agyness Deyn pays no attention to gossip.
The 33-year-old model-turned-actress – who is married to banker Joel McAndrew and was previously wed to actor Giovanni Ribisi – thinks it is “funny” when people “care” about trivial things in others’ lives, but she just focuses on her own work and ignores any speculation about her.
She said: “I think it’s funny when people care. I really don’t.
“I just kind of manoeuvre in a way that feels like I’m loyal to my own integrity. I just know that I have a drive to do well and that my focus is generally on the work; all that noise and rubbish, I acknowledge that it exists – but it is what it is.”
However, the ‘White King’ actress always wants to have fun with her work.
She said: “I’m not that heavy. I had great conversations with Peter Mullan [on the ‘Sunset Song’ set] about how he works, and he’s just like, it’s supposed to be fun, and I thought, yeah, that is a great way to work.”
At the height of her modelling success, a number of her former classmates set up a Facebook group called ‘Agyness Deyn You’re Not 18’, highlighting the fact she had reduced her age by a few years, but she insists that it wasn’t a big deal or a scandal.
She told the i newspaper: “The reality is that you go into the industry and they’ll say there are too many Franks and you’ll have to choose another name, or you’re a bit too old to start modelling, so we’ll just make you younger.”
Agyness moved to America in 2005 but she still feels attached to her British roots.
She said: “I really enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn’t stay. But I definitely feel very English; I have English TV on in my house.”

Drama teacher Orlando Bloom

OHMYGOSSIP — Orlando Bloom is to hold drama lessons for 11-year-olds.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star will host a series of workshops at Cheadle Hulme High School in Manchester, north England where he will teach pupils how to develop their speaking voice and improve their self-confidence.
A teacher said: “The female staff will be rushing into work that day. It’s not every day you get a Hollywood hunk in the classroom as a teacher.”
Whilst a spokesperson for the school added to the Daily Star newspaper: “Teaching these skills will get students interested in acting, a profession in which state school-kids are now hugely underrepresented.”
Orlando and actor Paapa Essiedu will attend the launch and will teach the children the ‘Cicero curriculum’, which was created by voice coach and Orlando’s former teacher Patsy Rodenburg.
A spokesperson from the Laurus Trust – a multi-academy trust established by Cheadle Hulme High School – shared: “The thinking is that teaching these skills will not only get students interested in acting – a profession in which state school kids are now hugely under-represented – but also boost their confidence and social ability in a way that will make all the difference when it comes to Oxbridge interviews, competition for top jobs, interviews and impressing in the workplace.”
And it’s not only the children Orlando will be teaching as his girlfriend Katy Perry previously confessed she has learned a lot from him.
She explained: “He was a previous award recipient last year, so he knows it better than I. And he’s been a UNICEF ambassador for over 10 years and I’ve only been a few years so he’s kind of shown me some of the ropes. Everyone is a teacher in a relationship, that’s how I see it now. We’ve taught each other a lot.”

Judy Garland's remains moved

OHMYGOSSIP — Judy Garland’s remains are being moved to Los Angeles.
The iconic actress – who died from an accidental overdose in London in 1969 – had been laid to rest in a mausoleum in Hartsdale, New York, but her burial place has been dug up and her remains were transported to California earlier this week at the request of her famous daughter Liza Minnelli so they can be re-interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
According to People magazine, the move is being made because her previous burial site didn’t have enough space for plots for her three children and grandchildren to eventually be laid to rest with her.
A new memoir, ‘Judy and I: My Life with Judy Garland’, based on notes written by the ‘Wizard of Oz’ star’s late ex-husband Sid Luft – the father of her two youngest children Lorna and Joey – before his death in 2005, addresses the star’s passing and how her family never got over the tragedy.
Sidney – the third of Judy’s five husbands – wrote: “Emotionally, none of us ever overcame it.
“Judy Garland was a very rare mix of shattered nerves and insecurities, self-destructiveness, and suicidal tendencies but also a true genius.
“She was to me the greatest talent who ever lived.”
In the book, which will be published in March, Sid also discussed Judy’s friendship with the late Marilyn Monroe.
He wrote of the ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ star’s visits to their home: “She’d sit by the fire, not talking much, a quiet presence.
“Marilyn was sweet and very unhappy. She’d chat with Judy and play with the children, hang out.
“She was separated from one of her husbands whom she complained was a nice person but said didn’t know how to make love to a woman. She’d hoped this pattern would change when they married. She was frustrated and disappointed.”

Lea Michele received personal gift from Stevie Nicks

OHMYGOSSIP — Lea Michele was given an “incredible” art book by Stevie Nicks when Cory Monteith died.
The ‘Scream Queens’ actress was incredibly touched by the personal gift she received from the Fleetwood Mac singer after her boyfriend and ‘Glee’ co-star died from an overdose in 2013, and it is a huge source of inspiration and comfort to her.
She said: “I have this incredible book that Stevie Nicks gave me in 2013 when my boyfriend died. She gave me this art book of hers that she put notes in over the years and song lyrics, and then she rewrote personal notes for me that say things like, ‘Keep singing, and have faith.’ ”
The 30-year-old star turned to the book to find a “sign” when she needed help coming up with a title for her second album, just a day before her record company needed it to be submitted.
She told Billboard magazine: “I poured myself the biggest glass of red wine, I put Fleetwood Mac on my vinyl, I lit candles, and I legit started praying and looking for a sign.
“I was looking through this book and praying that there was an answer in it, somewhere. And there was something in there that said, ‘The only thing that matters is you, and who you are.’ That’s what I’ve been trying to do with this whole record — just connect to me and where I’m from.”
And the message made the brunette beauty turn to her best friend, Jonathan Groff, and he came up with the title ‘Places.
She recalled: “I was like, ‘What’s something from our time in New York — a word, or a phrase, or something that is from theater, or from us?’ And he said, ‘What about ‘Places’? When you’re on Broadway, you get your 30-minute call, then your 15-minute call. You hear ‘Places everyone!’ And that means it’s showtime.”

Bryan Cranston to make London stage debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryan Cranston will make his London theatre debut in ‘Network’.
The ‘Breaking Bad’ actor will appear at the National Theatre’s Lyttelton Theatre from November playing unstable television news anchor Howard Beale in the stage adaptation of the 1976 movie, which won Peter Finch an Oscar for the same role.
Rufus Norris, National Theatre director joked he had first approached Bryan for the role at the Tony Awards in New York 18 months ago, when the 60-year-old actor presented the National with the Best Play award for ‘The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time’.
He quipped: “Several thousand people didn’t hear the muffled, ‘Are you available?’ ”
However, it is true that Bryan had read the script some time ago, but the project took some time to come to fruition because of his commitments to movie ‘Trumbo’ and his Tony-winning stint in Broadway play ‘All The Way’.
Rufus told the Daily Mail newspaper: “It has taken a little while because Bryan will have to relocate here.
“It has been an on-off chase, trying to make it work with all his numerous commitments. We are delighted to have someone of his craft coming over.”
The original movie – which anticipated how corporations would go global and be seen as “the nations of the world” – was written as a dark satire, but the theatre boss thinks the subject matter now seems more relevant than ever.
He said: “It very much speaks to the moment.”
While director Ivo van Hove – who will helm the production from a screenplay adapted by Lee Hall – is known for his modernised adaptations, Rufus doesn’t think he will be doing anything “radical” to ‘Network’.
He said: “Once Ivo got into it, he was hooked…
“It will recognisably be an adaption of the film, but I can’t answer for a process that is still a little way down the line. I’m sure it won’t be a million miles away (from the movie).”
‘Network’ famously saw Howard urge viewers to stick their heads out of the window and shout, “I’m mad as hell”, something cinemagoers of the time often yelled along with, but Rufus is unsure whether theatre audiences will be encouraged to follow suit.
He said: “Audience participation isn’t generally Ivo’s style but I wouldn’t rule out anything at this moment.”
Tickets for ‘Network’ will go on sale this summer.

Matthew McConaughey's teaching dream

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey would be a teacher if he wasn’t an actor.
The ‘Gold’ star has already got a taste of his other dream career as he is a professor at the University of Texas.
He said: “If I weren’t an actor, I’d be a teacher or an astronaut … I’m a professor at the University of Texas at Austin! This semester, I’m teaching students about the science behind the magic of filmmaking.”
The 47-year-old actor grew up in Texas and is keen to pass some of those core values he learnt as a kid to his own children – Levi, eight, Vida, seven, and Livingston, four, who he has with his wife Camila Alves.
He explained: “The things about growing up Texan that I’ve tried to pass on to my kids are a strong work ethic and no false drama.”
And Matthew also opened up about his childhood and family life.
He shared to Us Weekly magazine: “My older brothers, Rooster and Pat, used to call me ‘Fat Man’ as a child. They would tease me with the Batman theme song … My favorite things when I was a kid were my football and my BMX bike.”
Meanwhile, Matthew previously confessed his mother won’t let anyone call him Matt.
Asked if he answers to Matt or Matthew, he said: “It’s always been Matthew, and for good reason. I tell you mum got mad when I got called Matt. I was in kindergarten and my mum’s a kindergarten teacher, and my buddy John comes up to me and is like ‘Hey Matt do you wanna go play on the monkey bars?’ and I ran out and said ‘Yeah’ and halfway to the monkey bars I feel this hand on my shoulder and I get slammed to the ground and I look up and it’s my mother in my face.
“She’s like ‘What are you doing?’ and I was like ‘I’m going to play on the monkey bars with John.’ She goes ‘Who is?’ I said ‘I am,’ she said ‘What’s your name?’ I said ‘Matthew,’ she goes ‘Don’t you ever answer to Matt again, I named you Matthew from the bible.'”

Thandie Newton told daughters about abuse ordeal

OHMYGOSSIP — Thandie Newton has told her children she was abused.
The 44-year-old actress – who has daughters Ripley, 16, Nico, 12 and son Booker, two, with husband Ol Parker – previously revealed she had been sexually assaulted by a director when she was just 16, and felt it was important to address the subject with her older kids.
She said: “I told them that the first time I ever had any sexual encounter, it was abuse.
“Eventually, my 12 year old stopped me and said, ‘Mum, don’t worry. I am way cooler than you were at my age.’ ”
When she was pregnant with her youngest child, the ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ actress had a frank talk about sex with Ripley.
And a few days later, Thandie was very glad she’d provided her daughter with the true facts.
She recalled to Net-a-Porter’s The Edit magazine: “I said, ‘Daddy has a beautiful penis, which enters Mama, and these two precious parts of us join together…’
“A few days later, Ripley came home from school, saying, ‘Mummy, I had to tell Don he was wrong today. Don said sex is when a man makes his willy go really hard and then beats the woman with it.’ Lucky I got to her first.”
The ‘Westworld’ star admits she regularly encounters sexism in her day-to-day life.
She said: “Do you ever contribute to [the blog] Everyday Sexism? I want to, but I’d have to do it endlessly; I’d have to do it about so many people I work with.”
Thandie is an outspoken supporter of the causes she is passionate about but she admits she has lost friends as a result of the “unpalatable” conversation subjects she brings up.
She admitted: “I’ve been cut out of people’s lives often because I’ve said things that are unpalatable. [Is it worth it?] It hurts me like f***ing hell.”

Octavia Spencer receives Woman of the Year award

OHMYGOSSIP — Octavia Spencer has been awarded the Woman of the Year award by Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
The 46-year-old actress was honoured with a parade along Masachusetts Avenue in Harvard Square, Massachusetts, on Thursday (26.01.17) where she greeted fans before she picked up the prestigious pudding pot gong, which has previously been received by Meryl Streep and Jodie Foster.
And the ‘The Help’ star feels honoured to receive the accolade and will “forever” cherish the memory.
She said: “That pot was hard to get. It was difficult to get, but it was one that will be forever indelibly etched in my memories. This has just been so much fun today.”
And Octavia – who has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Oscars for her role in ‘Hidden Figures’ – is overwhelmed by the support she has received throughout her career.
She explained: “That really touches my heart because I have the luxury now of getting to choose … the characters that I play. One of the things that I like to do is choose movies … that will allow for a little escapism but also educate while entertaining, and I think ‘Hidden Figures’ does that on so many levels.”
The event saw the brunette beauty take to the stage to perform James Brown’s ‘I Feel Good’ with a student named Michael Wingate, rugby tackle an Alabama American football player, dance around with an Auburn cheerleader and throw a chocolate pudding in a student’s face because he was dressed up to look like the new US President Donald Trump.
Alongside a video of the star belting out the 1964 hit, which was regrammed from her publicist Ngoc Nguyen’s Instagram account, it read: “Singing for my “supper” @thehastypudding #Repost@littlengoc with @repostapp
Simply the Best. #HastyPudding #Roast @therealoctaviaspencer #JamesBrown#IFeelGood (sic).
And Octavia joked she will be aching all week after all the energy she exerted.
She quipped: “I think my thighs are going to hurt for a while.”
After all the exercise Octavia enjoyed a roast dinner.
Meanwhile, ‘Deadpool’ actor Ryan Reynolds is set to receive the 2017 Man of the Year Award on February 3.

Madonna to adopt twins?

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna wants to adopt twin girls.
The ‘Hung Up’ singer denied claims earlier this week that she had appeared before a judge in Malawi to take on the care of two children, but a local official insists the 58-year-old star – who also has children Lourdes, 20, and Rocco, 18, as well as David, 11, and Mercy, also 11, who were both adopted from the African nation – has filed paperwork to be the guardian of four-year-old sisters Stella and Ether, who have lived in an orphanage for two years.
Lucy Bandazi, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, told MailOnline: “All the necessary paperwork is before the High Court and they will make the ultimate decision if the adoption can go ahead.”
Madonna could have to wait up to three weeks for a decision on her application while a vetting process, that looks at all aspects of her life, is carried out.
Lucy said: “We will look at her financial situation and her social situation. There will be a lot of factors that are taken into consideration.
“Just because she is famous it does not mean procedures will be overlooked.
“The judge will take into consideration all her social factors, such as where she will live and where the children will be brought up.”
Earlier this week, Madonna insisted she was in Malawi just to check up on the work carried out by her Raising Malawi charity.
She said in a statement: “I am in Malawi to check on the children’s hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi and then heading home.
“The rumours of an adoption process are untrue.”
