Drew Barrymore thinks it’s ‘crazy’ she was on ‘The Tonight Show’ aged seven

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore says it’s “crazy” she appeared on ‘The Tonight Show’ for the first time aged seven.
The ‘E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial’ actress, 49, starred in the Steven Spielberg alien classic at the tender age, leading to her walking red carpets and featuring on talk shows.
She told Jimmy Fallon, 49, on his ‘The Tonight Show’ her mind was blown by how young she was by her TV appearance at seven when a video of it was played on the programme – which showed her screaming like she did in ‘E.T.’ and her legs not long enough to reach the floor from her seat.
Drew said: ‘I did the ‘The Tonight Show’ for the first time in 1982. That’s so crazy, with Johnny Carson.”
Jimmy told Drew they had a clip of her with Johnny aged seven, prompting her to exclaim: “No!”
The clip was shown – during with Johnny, who died aged 79 in 2005, asked Drew to “give me a scream” as she famously let out at a screech in ‘E.T.’ when her character lays eyes on the alien.
Drew says in the footage: “Guys, ready?” before belting out a high-pitched wail.
Johnny tells her: “That’s a good scream. Have you always been able to do that?”
Drew replied: “I practiced so much at home that I was able to do it. So the other day I screamed my throat off.
“When I got home, I was sweating. I need to take a shower badly. I was filthy!”
Jimmy said about the clip: “What are you doing? Who is that person? It is so charming.
“That is so charming, that person. And look at what a great woman you’ve become. That little baby, come on.”
Drew went on: “You know what’s so wild when I look at that – my legs don’t touch the ground.
“Like we are all growing up together. I’m 49 years old and I’m like, I’m just growing up with everyone.
“And my legs touched the ground now!”
Drew recently told how she thought of E.T. as her “first imaginary friend” during the filming of the iconic movie.
She added to People: “I think E.T. was definitely, sort of, my first imaginary friend that I also knew wasn’t real.
“I fully understood, but I think we need to project a matter of a belief system in things. Whether it’s imaginary or very real and tangible, it’s part of a survival mechanism, as well as just an absolute pleasure to identify things that make us feel good, that we feel like believe in us, like we believe in them.”

‘Tootsie’ and ‘9 to 5’ acting icon Dabney Coleman dead aged 92

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Tootsie’ and ‘9 to 5’ actor Dabney Coleman has died aged 92.
Best known for playing bad boss Franklin Hart Jr in the 1980 Dolly Parton film ‘9 to 5’, the Hollywood character actor’s daughter Quincy Coleman confirmed his death on Friday. (18.05.24)
She told Page Six the dad-of-four “took his last earthly breath peacefully and exquisitely” at his home in Santa Monica, California, on Thursday.
Quincy added: “My father crafted his time here on earth with a curious mind, a generous heart, and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humour that tickled the funny bone of humanity.
“As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence and mastery.
“A teacher, a hero, and a king, Dabney Coleman is a gift and blessing in life and in death as his spirit will shine through his work, his loved ones and his legacy… eternally.”
No details were given on Dabney’s cause of death.
The Texas native’s entertainment career kicked off in the 1960s but it took him a decade to land his breakthrough role – as Merle Jeeter on ‘Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman’.
He has said about the role: “‘Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman’ was a huge turning point. That was the turning point in my career.
“That’s kind of where it all started, as far as people’s belief that I could do comedy, particularly that negative, caustic, cynical kind of guy. I was pretty good at doing that kind of humour.
“So that was a huge turning point, and it was a lot of fun. In my opinion, it’s probably the best thing I ever did.”
In 1980, straight-talking Texan Dabney sealed his reputation for playing irascible middle-aged men with his ‘9 to 5’ role as Franklin Hart Jr.
He played a diabolical boss tormenting secretaries played by Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton, who he has called “icons in their fields”.
His other famed roles include lecherous soap opera director Ron Carlisle, as well as parts in ‘You’ve Got Mail’ and ‘Buffalo Bill’.
He racked up around 180 acting credits, with his last performance in a 2019 episode of ‘Yellowstone’.
Nominated for six Emmy awards, he won one for his work in 1987’s ‘Sworn to Silence’.
He was also nominated for three Golden Globes, taking one home in 1988 for his performance in ‘The Slap Maxwell Story’.
Twice-married Dabney, whose wives were Ann Courtney Harrell and late actress Carol Jane Hale was not married at the time of his death.
Along with Quincy, he is survived by his three other children, Meghan, Kelly and Randy.

50 Cent leads celebs hitting out at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs over ex-girlfriend assault video

OHMYGOSSIP — 50 Cent has trolled Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs after a video emerged of the rapper beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a hotel in 2016.
He was one of a string of celebrities who hit out at Combs, 54, in the hours after the footage was released by CNN.
They included model Emily Ratajkowski, 32, who branded him a “monster” on social media.
And singer Aubrey O’Day, 40, who has been one of the most vocal critics of Combs’ after they fell out in her girl band days, blasted on X: “The picture is getting a lot more clear for you all I can imagine.”
Fifty, 48, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III – mocked Combs after the video was revealed by CNN, which showed Combs striking singer Cassie, 37, at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California, on March 5, eight years ago.
He said on X alongside the footage: “(Eyeballs emoji) Now I’m sure puffy didn’t do it, he is innocent this proves nothing!
“This is what his lawyers are gonna say. God help us all (praying hands emoji.)”
Fifty has been a long-term critics of Combs.
He hit out at the rapper when it emerged Cassie had settled a 2023 lawsuit against Diddy that included allegations of physical abuse, saying online at the time: “Damn brother love, brother love, brother love, you out here looking (eyeballs emoji.) CRAZY AS A MF. LMAO.”
Fifty also mocked Combs – who has changed his name to Sean Love Combs – by saying in a now-deleted post about his out-of-court settlement last year with Cassie: “LOL (laughing face emoji.)
“He paid that money real quick, should have done that before the sharks (shark emoji) saw the blood in the water (blood drip emoji) and here they come in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 every woman he put his hand on.”
CNN said about the clip showing Combs beating Cassie: “The footage, compiled from multiple camera angles dated March 5, 2016, appears to show the rapper, producer and business mogul during an incident that, according to Ventura’s complaint, occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
“CNN verified the location based on publicly available photos of the former hotel’s interior.”
Cassie, who reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs after making allegations of abuse against him in 2023, declined to comment on the video obtained by CNN.
Her attorney Douglas H Wigdor, told the outlet: “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr Combs. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Cassie mentioned the hotel attack in her 2023 suit against Combs, which also alleged the rapper had paid the InterContinental $50,000 for the security footage from the incident.
Ben Brafman, an attorney for Combs, said in a statement on the day Cassie’s 2023 suit was filed: “Mr Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”
Since November, Combs has faced five other civil lawsuits accusing him of a range of sexual misconduct and other illegal activity.
He has denied the allegations, and the cases remain active.

Jane added when “this guy walks past me” at the club she went to with her friend in Malibu, California, she “didn’t think anything of it”.
She added: “But the next thing I know a mutual friend of ours, who’s a rapper called Shwayze, calls and says, ‘Hey, I’m performing there next week. Do you want to come? I’ve got someone I want you to meet.’
“So I go and Shwayze does his thing and I’m there with Shwayze’s grandmother and this guy says, ‘I think we’re supposed to meet,’ and I looked at him and went, ‘Yes, we are.’
“That’s the answer, right? I was told I was supposed to meet someone.”
Jane added she and John “ended up having a very, very long chat the next day with a cup of tea, which ended up having dinner”.

Anne, 79, also spoke about returning to dating in her seventies after years of being single.
She said: “I’d been out of the game for so long. And also I don’t drink. If you don’t drink, you’re not as reckless are you?
“I’m a great believer in surprising yourself by taking risks. Personally and professionally. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If the worst that can happen is you get some egg on your face, that’s not terrible is it?
“You’re much more selective about what you’re going to get into a tizz about. Nothing matters that much. You’re not going to change.”
Anne was previously married twice, to the late Charles Wilson, a former newspaper executive, until 1973 and she split from John Penrose, in 2007

Tom Felton’s mum too starstruck to meet Sir Paul McCartney

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Felton’s mother was too scared to meet Sir Paul McCartney.
The ‘Harry Potter’ actor was delighted to find the Beatles legend was as “gracious and friendly” as he had hoped, but the occasion was too much for his mum, who couldn’t bring herself to talk to her lifelong “crush”.
Asked when he was most starstruck, Tom told Empire magazine: “Meeting Sir Paul McCartney. It was pretty epic.
“I was working with him for a Comic Relief skit and I brought my mum along, who grew up with him, he was her biggest crush.
“So I met Sir Paul, he was very gracious and friendly.
“Then I looked at my mum and literally dragged her across the room and said, ‘Come on, this is your chance to meet him!’
“She got halfway and then just turned around and said, ‘No, can’t do it.’
“I went up to Paul and said, ‘Sorry mate, she’s not ready to meet you now. Maybe another day.”
The 36-year-old star recently returned to the UK after a period living in Los Angeles and he is relieved to be home because of the wide range of crisps available to buy.
He said: “I’ve just come back from living in Los Angeles for quite a while and well… Quite frankly, no-one does crisps like England.
“The selection we have is unmatched by any nation, I believe.
“Off the top of the head, we’re talking Twiglets, we’re talking Skips, we’re talking prawn cocktail, we’re talking Walker’s salt and vinegar, we’re talking pickled onion Monster Munch.”
Tom joked he loves crisps so much, he’s open to an endorsement deal with a snack company.
He added: “I should comment at this point that I’m not endorsed by any crisp company. But if one does want to reach out…”

Elizabeth Hurley: Damian isn’t a ‘mummy’s boy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Hurley has insisted her son isn’t a “mummy’s boy”.
The 58-year-old actress has always felt it important to prioritise 22-year-old Damian – whose father is the late Steve Bing – and his needs, but though the pair are very close, she insisted the director knows his own mind and doesn’t always listen to her.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “You only get one chance to be mother of a child.
“So I made a decision when I had Damian to put him first, ahead of anything in my personal or professional life.
“I didn’t take an acting job for nearly eight years because I wanted to be the person to put him to bed every night, take him to school and make shepherd’s pie. Life was very simple.
“Some people would look at us and say, ‘You’ve created a mummy’s boy’ because we spent so much time together.
“But I was like, ‘Wouldn’t a mummy’s boy do what I say? He doesn’t do his homework, he doesn’t tidy his bedroom, he doesn’t come to the dinner table on time. He really does nothing I ask him.
“He was a very self-possessed little despot.”
Damian added: “I’m not being maligned – it’s true.”
The pair have often turn heads because of their striking physical similarity, but Elizabeth insisted that hasn’t always been the case.
She said: “The funny thing is, when he was growing up, he looked nothing like me at all.
“It wasn’t until he was around puberty that I suddenly opened my eyes and there was this little dark Irish kid staring at me, whereas before he’d been blond with no eyelashes, no eyebrows.
“Adorable, but he just didn’t look like me and my side of the family at all.”

Jeremy Renner ‘treated like a child’ on set after accident

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Renner was treated “like a child” on the set of ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ after his horrific snowplow accident.
The 53-year-old actor admitted he faced severe limitations when he returned to work as his body was still recovering from the accident, where he suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after attempting to help his nephew with a car issue.
He told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “They have to treat me like I’m a child actor. The mayor of Kingstown is now like a 14-year-old.
“They go, ‘And action!’ And I was out. We discovered they worked me too hard, too many hours, too many days in a row. What I’m willing to do is everything, but what I’m able to do is a different thing.”
Jeremy also revealed that ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ co-creator Hugh Dillion asked his mother for permission for him to return to set and Jeremy was unsure if he even wanted to.
He said: “To try to create some truth and then get the audience to believe it, while I’m just trying to learn to walk again, to put one foot in front of the other and not get up in agony. I’m doing all these things to find my footing on the planet again. The idea of going into a fictional world — I have to be honest with you, I had to really consider, Is this something I really want to do?”
However, Jeremy insisted the accident has left him with a more positive outlook on life.
He said: “It took the collective of all these people. That’s the power of love. It’s a slow burn. Man, I tell you…
“I’m alive. I’m walking through life with a smile on my face. And there’s nothing that’s ever going to change that. Nothing. It’s impossible for me to have a bad day.”

The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue went ‘off the rails’ after death of bandmate

OHMYGOSSIP — The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue went “heavy on drinking” after the shock death of bandmate Mark Sheehan.
Mark died in April 2023 at the age of 46 following a brief illness and Danny admitted he went “off the rails” following Mark’s death.
He told Virgin Media One’s ‘Six O’Clock Show’: “I went off the rails after Mark passed. I went heavy on drinking, smoking and eating c*** food, really went off the rails.
“I had writers block, a mental block because I could not articulate what was going on because everything comes into question, not just should we carry on as a band, but is there a God? Why? There is no answers to these questions.
“I was trying to contemplate on the lyrics and the only thing I could write about Mark was ‘like a shooting star across the sky, in a second you were gone, but why do stars that light up twice as bright, only burn for half as long.’ It was the first time I got that thorn out of my side, what I wanted to articulate about the guy. Its always the great ones that go too soon – partly explains why I am still here.
“From there the floodgates opened for me creatively and musically… Music to me is healing and it is an incredible gift to have to go to in your darkest moments.”
And, Danny revealed he wants to pay tribute to Mark by continuing with The Script.
He said: “We made a pact years ago, myself and Mark, and I want to complete the journey that we had together. Even though he is not here, we set about to make a dent in the Irish music scene, we wanted to be played on local radio and it snowballed from there. The guy was a lyrical genius and he is sorely missed.
“What I wanted to try to do was leave The Script as it was, I did not want to fill those shoes as they will never be filled. We retired the three piece and have gone to a four piece.
“We will never be able to repeat what it was… but we want to move forward with the energy Mark had.”

She told Yours about the time she and David met – and how they live apart and will never marry: “I went to the (wildlife) centre, met David and I said that I was passionate about all British wildlife and if there was anything I could ever do to help to let me know.

“We are either in one or the other and we are four miles apart.
“He is not going to propose.”
Judi still lives in the home she shared with her former husband Michael and talked about how she has planted trees in his memory for lost loved ones in her woodland.

Judy added: “It’s a lovely tree. It seems only right –he found the house.”
The actress – who had ‘carpe diem’ tattooed on her right wrist a few years ago – also said she is refusing to slow down as she ages.

“I’m a great advocate for not sitting back. I can never think, ‘Oh, my eyesight’s bad, I can’t possibly do this. I refuse to be beaten by age.”
Judy is losing her sight to macular degeneration, which has grown so severe she can no longer drive or read scripts.
But she says she has refused to give up painting, adding: “I used to paint a lot but because of my eyes I stopped.
“David, my partner, said to me, ‘Why stop. It’s an interpretative art.’
“So I did start painting again because it doesn’t matter; I am not doing it for anybody.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Stone wants her acting career back, following a 2001 stroke.
The 66-year-old actress revealed her health negatively impacted her career but she would love to get back to doing what she loves.
She told The Times newspaper: “I still don’t have my acting career back. I would really like to work again as an actor so much … not just a weak, supporting part.
“I’d like to really have the parts that I have earned and can do. I would really like to have my own real career back. I would really like to have my life back.”
Sharon admitted she went through hell after the stroke, which impacted every area of her life.
She said: “Because it took seven years to really recover and I did lose custody of my child. And I did lose my career and I did lose $15 million — every cent I had — in child support and court fees … So I didn’t really bounce back and have a rebirth.
“I would really like to have my life back. I didn’t rebound and it isn’t some kind of wonderful story. It’d be great if it was, but it isn’t. I survived.”
And, Sharon revealed doctors only gave her a one per cent chance of survival.
She said: “I pretty much knew it was serious when I came to on the floor and I couldn’t get up and I kept calling for help and I couldn’t get it. I thought: ‘I’m having a stroke’.

The 42-year-old actress – who has sons Silas, nine, and Phineas, three, with Justin Timberlake – has acknowledged that she didn’t know much about her own body before starting a family.

“When I was in that phase of my life where I was really trying to build my family, I was shocked at how little I knew.
“I mean, I knew the basics. I’d been dealing with the basics forever. But as I got older, things were changing and my cycle was different and I wasn’t getting pregnant. What was going on? And I had a lot of trouble the second time getting pregnant as well.”

The Hollywood star now accepts that she simply didn’t “know enough” about her own body.
Jessica – who has been married to Justin since 2012 – shared: “I didn’t know where to turn. And I kept coming up on people who I knew, loved and admired and respected, who also had questions. It just kept in my mind going, ‘How is it possible that all of us have all these questions?’ I thought it was just me, I thought I was this idiot.
“And then it just kind of became clear that a lot of us don’t know enough about our bodies.”
