Dame Helen Mirren reveals why she doesn’t think she is ‘that beautiful’: ‘I look okay, but…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren doesn’t think she is “that beautiful”.
The 78-year-old actress believes she “looks okay” and has learned to embrace her individuality, even though she spent her younger years “desperately” wishing she looked like 1960s model Twiggy, who was named so because of her thin frame.
She told People: “I look okay, but I’m not that beautiful. But we are all individuals and we all have our own individuality. And I think ultimately it’s just embracing that and allowing yourself to be what you are. I desperately wanted to be Twiggy and I absolutely was not Twiggy in any sense.
“The real trick is to learn to accept yourself and love yourself, accept your absolute individuality and be proud of it.”
Meanwhile, the Oscar-winning star attended the Lights on Women Award ceremony during her time at the Cannes Film Festival and believes it is about time cinema started to focus on women.
She said: “Bringing more women into film means we see different stories told in different ways.
“For the past 50 years, we’ve been told stories from the male perspective, and it’s way past its due date for us to start to see stories told from a female point of view.”
The ‘1923’ actress still gets a “frisson of excitement whenever she attends the annual film festival in France and compared the buzz of it to the Academy Awards.
“I get the frisson of excitement the minute I arrive. It’s this extraordinary mixture of a really serious, proper art film festival where film is taken very seriously. And on top of that is this amazing sort of carapace of incredible glamour.
“I would say the only thing that’s similar is the Oscars. “But nothing else really competes.”

Madonna and Josh Popper split?

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna and Josh Popper have reportedly split.
The 65-year-old singer and her boxer boyfriend – who is 35 years her junior – are said to have called time on their relationship as they struggled to find time to see each other while Madonna spent the past seven months on the road for her ‘Celebration’ tour.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Madonna has barely seen Josh for months because her schedule was so hectic. Things just fizzled out.
“There is genuinely no bad blood — they’re still fond of each other.
“At the moment their relationship doesn’t feel feasible and they’ve cooled things off, but they are staying friends.”
Last year, Madonna celebrated turning 65 at a glitzy party in Portugal and used the bash to introduce Josh to her eldest son Rocco Richie, 30.
The pop superstar bounced back from a health scare and threw a lavish event in Lisbon to mark her milestone birthday which brought Rocco together with Josh for the first time.
She’s believed to have started dating Josh last year after he started training her son David. He was also believed to have been supporting her since her health battle last June after developing a serious bacterial infection.
She was treated in an intensive care unit and was forced to postpone the start of her upcoming tour. Madonna was eventually released from hospital and able to continue her recovery at home.
An insider previously told UsWeekly: “Although Madonna is looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible, she’s also taking her recovery seriously and isn’t going to rush anything because she is focused on her health above all else.”

Kelly Rowland speaks out about viral Cannes incident

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Rowland has insisted she was treated differently from “other women who did not quite look like me” at the Cannes Film Festival.
A viral video showed the Destiny’s Child star and an usher at the festival having a heated encounter after the festival employee appeared to try to rush Kelly up the stairs and into the venue while she posed for the assembled press at the premiere of the film ‘Marcello Mio’.
After the usher appeared to make a barrier behind Kelly, 43, urging her up the stairs, Kelly could be seen turning and pointing at the staff member as she said something to her.
Kelly said: “I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it. And there were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off. I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers, but I stood my ground.”
A source previously said that Kelly had been “advocating for herself”.
The insider told DailyMail.com: “The people who are assigned to helping stars walk the red carpet were being aggressive and Kelly was trying to ignore it.
“By the time she got to the last woman she had had it because she scolded Kelly and told her to move when she was trying to wave to fans and help the paparazzi get their shot.
“She doesn’t care if she comes across like a diva if she knows that she is advocating for herself. She isn’t fake and wanted to set a clear boundary.”

‘I don’t know how I will handle it’: Brook Shields not ready for daughters to get married

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Shields admits she hopes she can “handle” her daughters getting married.
The 58-year-old actress – who has Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18, with husband Chris Henchy – confessed she might not be “as generous” as her character Lana is in her new Netflix rom-com ‘Mother of the Bride’, if her children walk down the aisle, and she is already struggling now that they have flown the nest.
She told HELLO! magazine: “I did identify with [Lana] as someone who is not prepared at all for both my daughters having left the nest.
“But we are also different at the same time. I don’t know if I could be as generous a mother in the way Lana is if it was my daughter getting married. I do hope I handle my daughter getting married as well as Lana does when it eventually happens.”
The ‘Blue Lagoon’ star insists mothers struggling with “empty-nest syndrome”, don’t have to, because they can do anything they want to in life, regardless of their age.
She said: “I still love to act and make movies and I also have my own multimedia platform, Beginning Is Now. I really do feel in my prime creatively and I’m excited about now and the future.
“I feel as though a lot of women my age have that empty-nest thing, where they don’t know what to do, but it doesn’t have to be like that. You can do what you want and be who you want to be.”
Brooke recently admitted she will always worry about her girls.
She told People: “You get on vacation and all you do is think about where they are and what they’re doing. It’s like there’s really no relief.
“It’s like people say, ‘Oh, it’s going to be great. Just when they start to be able to walk. You don’t have to carry them everywhere. Then they’re walking all over and you’re worried about them falling off the stairs and in the pool and down the street, and then they’re able to walk.”

Kelly Brook: ‘I don’t really care much about how I look anymore’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Brook is done with modelling and doesn’t “really care much” about how she looks “anymore”.
The 43-year-old model has no body insecurities despite being “heavier” than she was in her glamour model days, but she has no desire to return to the career.
She told OK! Magazine: “I’m comfortable in my skin. I’m comfortable with where I’m at in my life, in my career and in my relationship. I don’t mind getting older. It doesn’t freak me out at all. My life’s evolved and I’m not seeking the gaze of males and I’m not trying to be a bikini model now. It’s not that I can’t be a bikini model because I’m 44 and heavier. It’s more that I’ve been there and done that and I don’t really care much about how I look anymore.”
The 44-year-old star – who tied the knot with Italian stallion Jeremy Parisi, 38, in 2022 – insists her interests have changed.
The brunette beauty – who moved from the Kent countryside to London with her spouse and their pet dog Teddy and is a keen gardener – said: “I do think that your life changes: you evolve, you grow up and your interests change. I’m now obsessed with my dog and gardening. I can’t say I was obsessed with animals and gardening 20 years ago. I moved to my house with Teddy in mind because I wanted a garden and lots of green space and to be able to walk to the green spaces.”
The couple had an intimate wedding in Jeremy’s native Italy, but they are still yet to plan their big party for family and friends in the UK.
She said: “We had an incredible wedding and we were watching our wedding video the other day. We’re still not over it. I wish we could do it all again. Our wedding was small and Italian-based. I didn’t put any pressure on people to come from overseas other than immediate family, and I did promise everyone we would have a big party in London. I haven’t got around to that yet, so that needs to happen.”

Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial to go ahead

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin’s trial for involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins will go ahead in July.
Baldwin’s attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro had filed a motion to dismiss the case but Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer in New Mexico rejected the appeal and the trial is set to go ahead.
According to Variety, the judge said: “The Court is not in a position to second-guess the grand jury’s decision.”
His attorneys said: “We look forward to our day in court.”
Alec, 66, faces a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison if found guilty of manslaughter.
He held the weapon that allegedly discharged and killed 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna and injured director Joel Souza in October 2021.
He has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter but has denied the allegations.
He has denied that he pulled the trigger on the gun and also insisted that it was not his responsibility to make sure the gun was safe.
Meanwhile, ‘Rust’ armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed recently launched an appeal against her own involuntary manslaughter conviction.
The 26-year-old weapons expert was jailed for 18 months in April after being found guilty in charges connected to the 2021 fatal shooting on the set of the Western, and her legal team have lodged paperwork to attempt to overturn the verdict.
According to TMZ, Hannah’s lawyers also filed to appeal the denial of her pretrial motions , which included a motion to dismiss the charges on multiple grounds such as a claim prosecutor Kari Morrissey had handed over hundreds of messages between the defendant and her attorney to a key witness.
The motion noted: “Ms. Gutierrez Reed is requesting to be released while she appeals, as if her appeal is successful, she will have served most or all of her sentence anyway, rendering a large part of the appeal meaningless.”
A judge has yet to rule on the appeal.

Travis Scott and Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards’ Cannes altercation

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott and Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards were reportedly involved in a physical altercation in Cannes.
The pair were both attending Richie Akiva’s annual ‘The After’ afterparty at the Cannes Film Festival in France when a fight broke out near the DJ booth.
Travis, 33, and his pal Southside reportedly fought with AE, whose friend Tyga is an ex of Kylie Jenner, the mother of Travis’ two children.
A source told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Models were flying everywhere in the melee. Someone got hit with an ice bucket.”
Another source told Page Six that Travis was unhappy when Akiva took the mic to shoutout Tyga and Edwards, saying, “We got T-Raww and AE” at the party.
The insider said: “The history [with Kylie] is there [but] it’s not like that’s necessarily what was the cause [of this fight].”
Tyga was not involved in the physical altercation.
The source said: “The party went until about 9 a.m., but it was beginning to wind down [during the incident.”
A separate insider added that “no one was seriously hurt in the argument”.
Avika did not address the alleged incident but insisted that he is planning a smaller party next year.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “Our first party in Cannes was in 2013 or 2014. We had our friends and people that were staying with us, and we always had a nice house close to the amfAR gala, and we just wanted to invite our friends back to the house. So it started out a little bit smaller and exclusive, it wasn’t like it is now. And it’s going to go back to that next year.
“I’m really proud of this event and outside of the Met Gala this is probably my biggest event. Everyone is telling me they had a blast. For me, they don’t understand how I feel about it because I’m a perfectionist. I don’t think it was one of my best ones.
“It started organic and small and grew and grew as friends wanted to get involved. But now there are too many chefs in the kitchen. I need to bring the soul back into the event by changing the house so people won’t know where the event is. It has been at the same villa for the past six to seven years so everyone knows where it is. Also, there are too many holes where security is getting paid off to let people in. When it’s smaller you can keep things tight and keep people accountable.”

Travis Kelce reveals favourite track from Taylor Swift’s new record

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce says ‘So High School’ is his favourite track from Taylor Swift’s new ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ album.
The NFL player, 34, has spent months gushing about his 34-year-old singer girlfriend’s music, and has now selected the track as his top one from her 31-song record, which is said to be packed with references to her ex-lovers.
‘So High School’ sees Taylor sing about the feeling at the beginning of new romance as a teenager – and fans are convinced it is about Kansas City Chiefs star Travis.
The Super Bowl winner told People when asked to name his favourite tune from ‘TTPD’: “I might be a little biased to ‘So High School’.
Fans say Taylor’s 11th studio album details her breakups from Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy, but believe both ‘So High School’ and ‘The Alchemy’ are about Travis.
‘The Alchemy’ includes football references like touchdowns, teams, warming benches, winning streaks, trophies, cheers and being the greatest in the league.
Its also seemingly references the moment Taylor reunited with Travis after he won his third Super Bowl in February.
She sings on the track: “Shirt’s off, and your friends lift you up over their heads / Beer stickin’ to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said / There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league / Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me.”
Before ‘TTPD’ was released, Travis was reported to have “zero concern” the singer may address past relationships on the record.
A source told the Daily Mail about Taylor’s habit of using past romances as inspiration for her material: “If (‘Tortured Poets’) is about (her ex) Joe (Alwyn), or anyone – even if it is about him in the future – this is the artist she is and he is in love with her and doesn’t pay any attention to be jealous.
“(Travis) understands this is a major part of what makes her the person and artist she is and he is no way looking to thwart the direction she takes.”
Taylor dated English actor Joe, 33, for six years before they split in early 2023, with the couple rumoured to have been engaged.
She was linked to The 1975 singer Matty Healy in 2023, but the pair were said to have split after around a month of dating.

Kevin Costner has ‘knocked on every boat in Cannes’ to finance second two parts of epic Western

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Costner says he has “knocked on every boat in Cannes” in his fight to finance the second two parts of his epic new Western.
The Oscar-winner, 69, got a seven-minute standing ovation after the Sunday (19.05.24) premiere at the Cannes Film Festival of the first part of his planned four-chapter ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ movie, causing the filmmaker to well up.
Opening up at a press conference on Monday (20.05.24) in Cannes about how he put a huge chunk of his fortune into making the $100 million-plus film: “I don’t know why it was so hard.
“You saw the movie. I don’t know why it was so hard to get people to believe in the movie that I wanted to make.
“You know, I don’t think my movie is better than anybody else’s movie, but I don’t think anybody else’s movie is better than mine. I don’t go out into the world with something I don’t think is good.”
Kevin mortgaged his ranch to pay for the movie, which he directed, starred in, produced and co-wrote.
‘Horizon’ is meant to be a four-part saga, and Kevin said he is currently trying to gather resources for its third instalment.
The second part is due out in August.
Kevin added about his fight to get the other installments made: “I’ve knocked on every boat in Cannes to help me.
“‘Oh come, we’ll have a picture.’ ‘No, come get your checkbook out. Let’s talk money!’”
Kevin has said the film tells the story of women leading the creation of the American West.
When asked why he didn’t tell it from the view of Native Americans, he replied: “The movie is a journey. It’s not a plot movie, and the Native Americans are represented.
“I don’t feel the need to try to balance the story. I just try to make it as real as I can.”
‘Horizon’, which stars Sienna Miller, 42, is told from the prospective of the cattle ranchers, farmers and soldiers building a future for themselves in the West, as well as the Natives who lived there first.

Nikki Glaser slams Ben Affleck for ‘not preparing’ for Tom Brady roast

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Glaser has slammed Ben Affleck for apparently not preparing for his stint on Tom Brady’s roast.
The comic, 39, and the ‘Armageddon’ actor, 51, were among the panel of roasters at the live Netflix special aired on 5 May from the Kia Forum in California.
Nikki told the ‘KFC Radio’ podcast about Ben’s gags: “I haven’t watched it (back) because I don’t like to watch people bomb
“(Ben is) someone who’s famous enough that he thinks that this is probably beneath (him) to do this, so (he was like), ‘I’m just gonna do a favour. It’s not going to be that big of a deal.’”
Nikki added she felt Ben had been “phoning it in” at the comedy special, and said he probably had to pitch joke ideas to a group of writers and went with the angle of being “mad” about trolls.
Ben was a surprise guest at 46-year-old retired NFL player Tom’s roast and his jokes included: “You guys out there talking s*** behind your f****** keyboard, that doesn’t make you a fan, that makes you a b****.”
Nikki called his focus “self-centred” and said: “There were jokes that could have been used to fill up an entire set that would have been amazing, but either they couldn’t get him on the phone enough to work out something, he didn’t practice enough or he just picked a bad premise and then he had to stick to it the whole time.”
Ben’s set was branded one of the worst of the roast by fans, while Nikki was praised for her jibes about Tom’s 2022 divorce from Gisele Bündchen, 43, and how he lost millions of dollars in a cryptocurrency blunder.
Tom – who has children Benjamin, 14, and 11-year-old girl Vivian with his ex – has admitted he regrets agreeing to his Netflix roast as his children were “affected” by the gags.
He told ‘The Pivot’ podcast: “I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that affected my kids.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion – who also has son Jack, 16, with his 53-year-old actress ex Bridget Moynahan – added he didn’t think his decision to be a part of ‘The Roast of Tom Brady’ through properly.
He added: “It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realise, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.
“So it makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naive you don’t know or you get a little like, ‘Oh s***!’”

Tori Spelling got double belly piercing as Mother’s Day gift

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Spelling got a double belly piercing as a Mother’s Day gift.
The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actress, 51, said her five children marked the date in the US on Sunday, 12 May by watching her get the matching silver stomach studs.
She said on her ‘MisSpelling’ podcast she was “really proud” of her stomach and had been wearing “a lot of crop tops lately.”
Tori – who has son Liam Aaron, 17, daughter Stella Doreen, 15, daughter Hattie Margaret, 12, son Fin Davey, 11, and son Beau Dean, 7, with her estranged 57-year-old actor husband Dean McDermott – added: “I’ve had five babies. I’m really proud at my stomach. That’s, you know, it’s gone in and out five times and it’s good.
“And I feel like, you know, my thing back in the day, like full circle, was my belly. I always showed off my belly because that was one of my favourite parts of me.
“And now I do it again and people are like, stop dressing like a teenager.
“My kids know me so well.”
Tori said about why she got two belly piercings for Mother’s Day: “I hate odd numbers, you know I like everything in pairs.”
Tori recently said on her podcast she still has chipped teeth from kissing Jason Priestley.
She revealed she had a smooch with her co-star on the show “way before” he married his first Ashlee Petersen in 1999.
Tori said: “My teeth are chipped. Thank you, Jason Priestley.
“I have a chipped front tooth from making out with Jason Priestley in an elevator.
She added now 54-year-old actor Jason is a “good but aggressive kisser”.
Tori went on: “I was shooting a TV movie in Vancouver, he was directing a TV show in Vancouver.
“Yeah, we had a fun summer.”
She added Jason “broke (actress Jennie Garth’s) face” with his kissing on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, saying: “She says she has TMJ (jaw disorder temporomandibular joint dysfunction) because of him and a clicking jaw.”
Tori also said she thinks she has “brittle teeth” after the same thing happened to her as it did with Jason – with a different man.
She and Dean separated in June 2023 after 17 years of marriage, with Tori waiting nine months to file for divorce.
Tori also recently used her podcast to open up about how she wants her sixth child – but fears no man wants to be with a mum-of-five.
And she told she hasn’t had her heart broken since splitting from her “first love”, 50-year-old actor Brian Austin Green.
