Tiffany Haddish vows to never drink again – unless she gets engaged

OHMYGOSSIP — Tiffany Haddish won’t drink again unless she’s toasting her engagement.
The 44-year-old comic was arrested in November for suspected driving while under the influence, and has since been sober.
She told ‘Extra’ about how intended to stick to her sobriety unless she became someone’s fiancée and wanted to show her partner what she was like when she let down her hair: “(I’m) not drinking any alcohol. Never gonna do that again. “Unless I get engaged. Then I just want him to see how crazy I am just for one day.”
Tiffany added her decision to kick drink has also helped her body.
She said: “It feels good to wake up and my elbows ain’t aching, my knees ain’t burning, the crooks of my ankles ain’t on fire, you know. There’s no inflammation.
“I want to be in a good place.”
Tiffany pleaded no contest in February to a reckless driving charged that stemmed from her November arrest in Los Angeles.
Both misdemeanour charges against her were dropped, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed,
Tiffany told People in a recent chat with People to promote her new memoir, ‘I Curse You With Joy’, she had treated the incident as a wake up call to overhaul her lifestyle and kick booze.
She said: “I’m very sober. I haven’t had a drink since (the arrest.)
“When I sit back and look at my life, everything that’s crazy that’s happened is because somebody or myself had alcohol in their system.”
She also called for others to follow her lead, saying: “This is my challenge to people – stop drinking for six months and just see how your life changes. “You’re going to have your snatched body back, you’re going to see your relationships will be better and you’ll stop dealing with people you don’t need to be dealing with.”
She also joked: “My issue was, I was waking up next to ugly men.”
Tiffany added that as well as giving up alcohol she has also been celibate.
She credits both changes – along with “eliminating a lot of people” from her life and social circle – as the sources of her newfound happiness.
Tiffany added: “I’m happy – I’m genuinely happy.”

Sharon Stone celebrates son Laird’s high school graduation

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Stone is celebrating her son Laird’s high school graduation.
The ‘Basic Instinct’ actress, 66, cheered the 19-year-old on at the milestone and posted a series of pictures of them beaming at the event on her Instagram.
She captioned the set of snaps, which showed Laird in a maroon cap and gown: “LAIRD VONNE STONE GRADUATION!!”
The actress also included a photo of Laird after he received his diploma in which he appeared to be smiling under a mask while making a rock-on sign with his hand.
Sharon adopted the boy in 2005 along with her youngest son, Quinn, now 17, in 2006.
She also has son, Roan, 24, with her ex-husband Phil Bronstein.
Sharon married the journalist, 73, in 1998 and adopted Roan in 2000 – but they separated in 2003 and finalised their divorce in 2004.
At the time, the Oscar nominee asked for primary custody of Roan, who was then eight, but was denied by a judge who believed Phil could provide a more stable environment.
In 2008, the actress lost an appeal to gain primary custody of Roan and last year claimed the judge’s decision was due to her sexy role in ‘Basic Instinct’.
She told the ‘Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi’ podcast: “When the judge asked my child – my tiny little boy, ‘Do you know your mother makes sex movies?’ “This kind of abuse by the system, that it was considered what kind of parent I was because I made that movie.
“People are walking around with no clothes on at all on regular TV now, and you saw maybe, like, a sixteenth of a second of possible nudity of me – and I lost custody of my child.”
Sharon has kept a close bond with Roan, and he even filed papers to take her last name in 2019.
She has recently told how she feels like she lost her career after she was almost killed by a brain haemorrhage in 2001 – and said the roles she has been offered have got limited as she gets older.
She told The Times: “People would like to say, ‘You’re too old or you can’t do this or you can’t do that.’
“It’s a little bit hard to cast me as the grandmother. It’d be easier to cast me as the lawyer or the judge or the cop – so they’re not really sure what to do with somebody like me.
“I still don’t have my acting career back. I would really like to work again as an actor so much – not just a weak, supporting, bulls*** part.
“I’d like to really have the parts that I have earned and can do.
“I would really like to have my own real career back. I would really like to have my life back.”
The haemorrhage Sharon suffered more than 20 years ago led to a nine-day brain bleed.

Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock dead aged 53 after cancer fight

OHMYGOSSIP — Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock has died aged 53.
Best known for his 2004 ‘Super Size Me’ documentary – which followed him for 30 days as he claimed to consume a diet of only McDonald’s food – passed away Thursday (23.05.24) from cancer-related complications, his family announced on Friday.
His brother Craig Spurlock, who worked with his sibling on several projects, said in a statement to Variety: “It was a sad day, as we said goodbye to my brother Morgan.
“Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas and generosity. Today the world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him.”
Morgan’s ‘Super Size Me’ film showed his health deteriorate over the course of the month he was gorging no McDonald’s.
The film received an Oscar nomination and sparked spurred widespread debate about eating habits – but the accuracy of his project has been questioned in years since, as he later admitted to drinking heavily throughout filming.
The award winner’s reputation fell apart in December 2017 when he confessed on X to sexually harassing women and being unfaithful to “every wife and girlfriend I have ever had”.
He also admitted to paying a settlement to a female assistant who he would regularly refer to as “hot pants” or “sex pants”.
Morgan said the situation was “funny at the time” before he realised he had “completely demeaned and belittled her to a place of non-existence”.
He also described a time in college when a “one-night stand” ended with the girl he was with in tears while the two were having sex.
The day after his admissions he stepped down from his production company.
He also directed 2008’s ‘Where in the World is Osama bin Laden?’, 2011’s ‘POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold’ and ‘One Direction: This Is Us’ in 2013.
He also starred in and executive produced FX reality show ‘30 Days’ from 2005 to 2008.
Morgan was married to Priscilla Sommer from 1996 to 2003, before he got hitched to second wife Alex Jamieson in 2006, before their divorce in 2011.
He was married to his third wife, Sara Bernstein, from 2016 until their divorce earlier this year.
Morgan is survived by his parents Ben and Phyllis Spurlock, and his two sons, Laken, 17, who he had with Alex, and Kallen, eight, his boy with Sara.

Michael Richards could have Laugh Factory ban lifted years after racist tirade

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Richards could have his Laugh Factory comedy club ban lifted years after his infamous racist rant at the venue.
The ‘Seinfeld’ actor, 74, who made a fortune and was skyrocketed to global fame playing Kramer on the hit comedy sitcom was filmed unleashing a tirade of racial slurs during a stand-up show at the spot in Los Angeles in 2006.
It led to the actor being barred from the club for life, but owner Jamie Masada has now said he might allow him back – if he has learned “the error of his ways”.
Jamie told TMZ he “believes in second chances and doesn’t want to hold a grudge”.
But the outlet reported Michael – who has just published his memoir ‘Entrances and Exits’ – is not looking to use the book to make a return to the limelight in stand-up shows, TV or with promotional appearances to promote the memoir.
TMZ said Jamie says he was at the club the night Michael let rip with his racial slurs, and questioned Michael’s take on what happened.
The actor says in his book he over-reacted when a heckler told him he “wasn’t funny”.
But according to TMZ, Jamie says there were no proactive heckles.
He says a group of guests were talking during Michael’s set and only when he demanded to know what they were talking about did one reply with the put-down he wasn’t funny.
Michael says in his book at the time of the incident he was still hurting from the failure of his post-‘Seinfeld’ sitcom ‘The Michael Richards Show’ – which lasted only eight episodes in 2000.
He adds in the autobiography he heard talking coming from the balcony before he exploded in rage, and yelled: “Shut the f*** up!” – to the delight of the audience.
Michael says he then heard someone from the balcony call out: “You’re not funny. We don’t think you’re very funny!”
Michael admitted he took the insult “pretty hard” and called it a “solid punch below the belt”.
He swerves detailing exactly what he said during his tirade – which featured him shouting into the audience: “Fifty years ago we’d have you upside down with a f****** fork up your ass” before calling one of his hecklers the n- word.
Michael says in his book: “Of course, looking back at all, I wish I had just agreed with (my heckler.)
“He went low and I went even lower. We both ended up at the bottom of the barrel.”
Michael added the words “You’re not funny” kept running through his mind at the time of the incident, saying: “He laid it out so clearly, so simply, my biggest fear – not being funny.
“Later, I’ll come to realise that all of this, everything he said, is me. His voice is my voice. This is all ME going on. My inferiority sets in. My anger erupts.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Strong is tipped to play Bruce Springsteen’s manager in an upcoming movie about the making of the rocker’s ‘Nebraska’ album.
The 45-year-old actor – who made headlines for sticking to a method acting approach while playing bratty, cocaine-snorting media empire heir Kendall Roy in HBO’s hit drama ‘Succession’ is said to be headed to take the role of Jon Landau in the film.
Variety reported: “Jeremy could be joining Jeremy Allen White in ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’, the 20th Century Studios movie about Bruce Springsteen and the making of his 1982 album, ‘Nebraska’.
“The ‘Succession’ star is in talks to play Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau in the Scott Cooper-directed feature.”
E Street band leader Bruce, 74, is to be played by ‘The Bear’ actor Jeremy Allen White, 33, in the flick, 33.
Director Scott – renowned for writing and directing Jeff Bridges movie ‘Crazy Heart’ – is also penning the film, which is based on Warren Zane’s 2023 book ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska’.
Bruce’s stripped-back, acoustic album ‘Nebraska’ was the follow-up to his 1980 double album ‘The River’.
The singer was expected to deliver a blockbuster rock record with his E Street Band, but shocked music executives by instead releasing the ruminative record which was made on a four-track recorder.
Bruce and his manager Jon, 77, are to be fully involved in the making of the film, which is expected to start shooting this autumn.
Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios president David Greenbaum said about the project: “It is a once-in-a-lifetime honour to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many.
“The deep authenticity of his story is in great hands with my friend Scott Cooper whom I am thrilled to be collaborating with once again.”
Actor Jeremy – who recently became a first-time Tony nominee for his work in ‘An Enemy of the People’ – won an Emmy and Golden Globe for his role as Kendall Roy.
He will next be seen on screen in ‘The Apprentice’, playing infamous lawyer Roy Cohn alongside Sebastian Stan, 41, as a young Donald Trump.

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have got married in a ‘low-key ceremony’, insiders claim

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have reportedly got married.
The 20-year-old actress got engaged to model Jake – who is the son of rock star Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley – just over a year ago and on Friday (24.05.24) insiders claimed to PEOPLE magazine that the pair tied the knot last week in a “low-key” ceremony, but are planning to hold a “bigger” celebration at some point in the coming months.
A source told The Sun: “Millie and Jake quietly said their vows in America last weekend.
“They are planning a bigger ceremony in the US later this year but now they have legally married and done all the paperwork.
“It was a very low-key, romantic affair with their closest family with them as they said their vows.”
Millie and Jake, 22, were enjoying a family vacation in the Maldives last spring and while she thought he might pop the question at some point during the break, she was taken aback when it all happened during a scuba diving session.
Speaking on the ‘Table Manners’ podcast, she told hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware: “Basically, I was on holiday with my parents and Jake. I had a feeling; I packed a white dress just in case, let’s just say that, and I had my [nails] done in the way I wanted.
“I don’t like surprises, I usually know when one is coming. There were conversations before we left about proposals and what I would like, what I wouldn’t.
“I thought it would be a very good place to choose. We were in the Maldives, so Jake and I were diving one morning, his parents were there. “He just asked if I could be up at 8am to be up for a dive.
” And the night before, I said ‘Could we cancel that?’ and he said no, and he never really says that.
“A few months before, he said he would never propose while diving. There was a video we saw online and he said ‘I’d never do that because if you got too excited, you wouldn’t be able to breathe’, so I was like ‘Well, that’s a good point.’
“And I thought he wasn’t going to do it and then when I went under – it was actually an hour of diving – before he did it”.
But the ‘Stranger Things’ star was so excited and dropped the ring in the heat of the moment, which prompted her husband-to-be to do a heroic “swoop” to the seabed and grab it as she floundered and panicked that it had disappeared forever.
She said: “I was taking really deep breaths because I was so excited and then we floated to the top. He dropped the ring, well, I dropped the ring because I went to show him and it slowly slid off. I probably could’ve stopped it and then nothing was slow about this plummet. It plummeted so fast, so quickly. I really, truly, thought it was gone.
“I watched it fall to the bottom of the ocean. He saw it happen, which I’m so proud of him [for], he just threw himself so deep underwater and did this cinematic swoop and when he opened his hand, it was in there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga performed a run of shows after contracting COVID-19.
The 38-year-old pop star was struck down with coronavirus during the pandemic but was determined “not to let the fans down” so still took to the stage and made sure that her team was in the loop.
She told Variety: “I did five shows with COVID. I shared it with everyone on my team. And I said, ‘I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable at work, and you don’t have to perform and you don’t have to work that day. I just didn’t want to let all the fans down.”
The ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker also noted that she kept apologising to everyone backstage amid her quick changes and felt worried that her fans were also putting themselves “in harm’s way” just by being a part of a crowd so felt that she could perform anyway.
She added: “The way that I saw it also is that the fans were all putting themselves in harm’s way every day coming to the show. During all my quick changes, I kept going. ‘I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
But the Grammy Award-winning star was also keen to stress that even though just being in the world of showbusiness can feel very “isolating” at times, she “never” feels that way when she is with her fans.
She said: “This industry can feel very isolating sometimes, but I never feel alone when I’m with my fans!”
Meanwhile, the ‘Telephone’ songstress teased that she is working on her long-awaited seventh studio album and even though it is “really different” to anything she has ever done before, admitted that it felt “beautiful” to know that it will be enjoyed by her fans regardless.

“There’s something really beautiful about knowing that you will be loved no matter what you do.”

Patti LaBelle shares the tragic reason she feels ‘truly blessed’ to have made it to 80

OHMYGOSSIP — Patti LaBelle feels “truly blessed” to have made it to 80 – because her siblings didn’t.
The soul singer hit the milestone age on Thursday (23.05.24) and admitted that following the deaths of her sisters Vivian, Barbara and Jackie – all between the 1970s and 1980s – she just felt lucky to have “made it”.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Yeah, 80 is good. Just that I made it. Vivian, Barbara and Jackie. My sisters all died before they turned 50. My sisters all died before they turned 50. So I was praying to turn 50, really. So I was praying to turn 50, really. And then after that 60, 70 and now 80. I’m blessed. I’m truly blessed.”
The ‘Lady Marmalade’ hitmaker noted that she can still get around in life and is “still standing” as she explain that she always reassures young girls that everything will be “all good” when they reach that age themselves.
She added: “I’m still talking, I can still hear, I can see, I can walk, so what a blessing! I’m still standing, you know.
“I tell all the young girls, ‘it’s all good, when you get to be 80.’ Because they’re all afraid of telling their age and stuff. Like, that honey, is a graduation… Age is just a number. I’m 80 and still good!”
The former Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells star is also looking forward to returning to the studio and hitting the road again after 20 years away.
She said: “I haven’t had an album out in 20 years, so I’m working on that now. It should be out at the end of this year and it’s called 8065. I’m 80 years young and 65 years in show business. So that’s what the project will be called, and that’s what my tour is called. 8065!”

Chris Pratt burned through his first big paycheque in just two months: ‘I thought I’d never run out’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pratt thought he would “never run out of money” when he got his first big paycheque.
The 44-year-old actor now has a reported net worth of $100 million but when asked whether coming from humble beginnings in Virginia, Minnesota, and working as a waiter had meant that he was more careful with money at the start of his career, he explained that his attitude towards finances was actually quite the opposite.
Speaking on ‘Sway in the Morning’, he said: “Oh, no. No. No. I was under the impression that I would never run out of money. The first paycheck I got, I was like, ‘Are you serious?’ I had lived on very little money for a long time, so the first big job I got … was a TV movie. I got paid $75,000.
“I was like, ‘I’m never gonna wait again. F**** you, b******, I am leaving!
“And then about two months later, I was like, ‘Where’d that money go?!”
But the ‘Garfield Movie’ star admitted that because he didn’t come from a financially stable background, he never learned how to handle money and he would just end up spending it all until he suddenly wisened up about it some time into his acting career.
He said: “We never had any money growing up. No one ever taught me financial literacy. I didn’t know what to do with money. It was like, it would come in, I would spend it,” he said. “It took a good amount of time for me to kind of stop and say, ‘All right, I gotta get wise about this. I have to think about, ‘What am I gonna do?
“How am I gonna get to the point to where if I stop working one day, I’ll still be OK? My family will be OK.’ So, kind of coming up with a financial literacy plan, you know, later in my life was sort of one of the steps of me growing up!”

She told UsWeekly: “It’s funny because we never had a big relationship before we had kids. We’re getting to know each other at the same time as doing a very difficult job.
“Parenting definitely, you know, [is] like having no sleep and all that kind of stuff. So it’s really crazy. And we wanted to be married, but we wanted to be married before we had kids, but that just didn’t happen.”
The ‘Super Duper Love’ hitmaker – who started dating Cody in 2020 – recalled being heavily pregnant with her first child when Cody popped the question but before she knew it, they were expecting for a second time so the wedding never came about.

“He felt so much more mature. We were in Fox Studios in Sydney.
“He came up to me and said, ‘Can I send you my music to listen to?’ and I said, “Sure.” I told him, ‘I’m here for a month, I don’t have much to do… maybe you could teach me to surf?’, which is hilarious, because I’m so terrified of sharks and I would never surf now.”

Paloma Faith feels ‘guilty’ about how she used to treat her vagina: ‘I was overly accommodating…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Faith feels “guilty” over the way treated her vagina in the past.
The 42-year-old pop star claimed that she has always been “sensitive” in her intimate areas and was “overly accommodating” to men during her youth at the expense of her own comfort or pleasure.
Writing in a piece for The Saturday Times magazine, she explained: “My vagina has always been sensitive but accommodating, a bit like me.
“I feel guilty about how I have treated it in the past. In my early years of sexual activity, I was so overly accommodating for men that I would allow them to shove it in without lubrication and almost tried to ignore the lack of comfort or arousal.
“I actively told men I couldn’t orgasm to alleviate any pressure they might feel to make me do so. It was years before I learnt how to enjoy sex or met men who took more pleasure out of my pleasure than their own. Too long.”
The ‘New York’ songstress – who has two daughters aged seven and three with former husband Leyman Lachine – claimed that no pain had ever come close to the kind she felt when she tried having sex for the first time after giving birth and it actually took her another couple of years to start feeling comfortable again.
She added: “Nothing, though, has been as painful as the first time I had sex postpartum. It was HELL. It felt like razor blades were embedded in his penis. I felt guilty because it was by now seven months since I had given birth and I felt I should have an obligatory try.
“I was wincing the entire time. He noticed. I was feeling bad; he was feeling bad. It wasn’t erotic at all!
“I would say it took nearly two years for me not to feel any pain at all during sex. That is a hell of a long time. I went to a lot of gynaecologists but no one had any answers as to why this was happening. If I am honest, I resigned myself to having painful sex for the rest of my days.”

She told Access Hollywood: “They’ve given me the best advice on how to bring my kids along. The best advice I got was, ‘Ask your bus driver if you can drill in the crib into the bus. There’s so many moms on there and I know Whitney Cummings is on [my group chat], Jordin Sparks, Natasha Bedingfield, and so many more that I can’t remember right now.”
‘American Idol winner Jordin welcomed her son Dana Jr at the beginning of May with her husband Dana Isaiah, whilst ‘Unwritten’ singer Natasha has six-year-old son Solomon with her husband Matt Robinson and comedienne Whitney has five-month-old son Henry with Alex Barnes.
Meanwhile, the ‘To The Moon’ hitmaker has served as a judge on various international versions of ‘The Voice’ throughout the course of her career but when asked if she would consider replacing Katy Perry on its ABC rival ‘American Idol’, she revealed that she would jump at the chance because it is her “dream job” and she is trying to get her foot in the door.
She said: “That is my dream job, please, I’ve been going everywhere being like, ‘Hi American Idol. Choose me to be a coach please or judge. I will be the best and give my whole heart and soul. I promise. Please choose me, pick me, love me.”
