Halle Berry ordered to parenting classes with ex-husband

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Berry has been ordered to attend parenting classes.
The 57-year-old actress and her former husband Olivier Martinez – who have nine-year-old Maceo together – must undergo “co-parenting therapy/ coaching”
with Dr. Jaye-Jo Portanova, with each to have an initial session before participating “no less than six” joint meetings.
According to court documents obtained by ‘Entertainment Tonight’, the primary focus of the sessions will be to help the former couple establish ways to “resolve disputes and conflicts between in an effort to successfully co-parent… in a manner that promotes Maceo’s best interests.”
It was also specified that the ‘Extant’ actress’ current partner, Van Hunt, will be allowed to attend the sessions with her, “subject to Dr. Portanova’s recommendation and approval.”
After the six meetings – which will be jointly funded by Halle and Olivier – a review will take place.
The documents stated: “Following the parties’ sixth co-parenting therapy/coaching session with Dr. Portanova, the parties’ counsel and Dr. Portanova shall participate in a conference during which time Dr. Portanova will make a recommendation as to whether the parties should continue co-parenting therapy/coaching.
“The parties’ co-parenting therapy/coaching shall be confidential and neither party shall be permitted to call Dr. Portanova as a witness in these proceedings.”
The former couple have been at loggerheads for years and in 2023, they finally reached a custody agreement, seven years after being declared legally single.
Halle – who also has 16-year-old daughter Nahla with former partner Gabriel Aubry – was ordered to pay her ex-husband $8,000 a month in child support, as well as 4.3 percent of any income she receives above $2 million “for additional child support for Maceo.”
The ‘Bruised’ star will also pay for their son’s private school tuition, school uniforms/supplies as well as 100 percent of any extracurricular activities Maceo is involved with.
Documents confirmed at the time Halle – who has shared custody with her ex-husband – had “voluntarily contributed” to Olivier’s legal fees, handing over around $55,000.

Catherine, Princess of Wales ‘considering’ balcony return

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales is reportedly “considering” making a return to the spotlight for the first time she went public with her cancer diagnosis.
The 42-year-old royal revealed in March she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment to battle an undisclosed form of the illness and she has not taken part in public engagements since but a new report suggests she might make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the Trooping the Colour ceremony in June.
The Mirror newspaper reports: “Kate … is understood to be considering making an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the Trooping the Colour ceremony if she is feeling well enough.”
The report comes after a Kensington Palace representative confirmed the princess would not be taking part in the Colonel’s Review – the event’s official dress rehearsal on June 8 – but they did not rule out a potential appearance at the Trooping the Colour a week later on June 15.
Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial event held annually to celebrate the monarch’s birthday. It’s also known as the Sovereign’s Birthday Parade and takes place in London with the monarch joining a procession of around 1,200 soldiers and musicians and more than 200 horses.
It also involves a fly-past and an appearance by the monarch on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
King Charles – who is also battling cancer – will take part in the Trooping the Colour event but he’s expected to inspect soldiers from a carriage alongside his wife Queen Camilla rather than on horseback.
The 75-year-old monarch was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, but he has returned to public life in recent weeks by carrying out a series of public engagements even though he is still undergoing treatment.

Questlove owns 200,000 records

OHMYGOSSIP — Questlove has more than 200,000 records in his collection.
The musician has been accumulating vinyl for years and his hobby has stepped up recently because so many radio stations are using digitised playlists and getting rid of physical copies so he’s been snapping them all up and he now needs four “gargantuan” storage units to house everything.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “I had a normal record collection … 60,000 to 70,000 records. But one by one, radio stations started digitising everything, because they wanted to make more space, and they were like: ‘What do you do with the physical copies? Throw them away?’
“So I started getting calls from this jazz station in Alabama, or this former soul station in West Virginia: ‘Hey man, we got 12,000 pieces that are probably going to go in the garbage …’ I’m up to 200,000 records now. I have four gargantuan storage units.”
As well as having to pay for storage facilities, Questlove admits he’s also having to spend huge amounts of money insuring his collection and getting someone to put them in order.
He added: “Just to insure those records, and find someone to categorise them, is almost like buying another house. I don’t know if it’ll get done in my lifetime.”
Questlove – real name Ahmir K. Thompson – has also beeb busy writing several books about music history as well as working on a documentary about Sly Stone and he’s adamant musicians need to do more to preserve their past as he regrets not saving items from his early days with The Roots.
He added to the publication: “People were living for the day, living for the moment, not thinking about history. So I stress to artists now: dude, every sketch pad, every direction you take from a telephone, save all your history because you never know when you’re going to need it.”

Cher wins long-running royalty dispute with Sonny Bono’s widow

OHMYGOSSIP — Cher has won a long-running battle over royalties with Sonny Bono’s widow.
The ‘Believe’ hitmaker had sued Mary Bono and accused her of withholding payments from songs within the Sonny + Cher catalogue, with the lawsuit arguing she was entitled to a 50/50 share of royalties as set out in an agreement she and her ex-husband had made in their 1978 divorce settlement.
And now, US District Judge John Kronstadt ruled at a Los Angeles federal court that “a right to receive royalties is distinct from a grant of copyright”, and Cher should continue receiving payments for the duo’s songs, which include ‘I Got You Babe’ and ‘The Beat Goes On’.
Cher is owed around $418,000.
Sonny died in a skiing accident in 1998 at the age of 62, with his share of the publishing revenue passing to his heirs, and the legal case came about after Mary exercised a feature of copyright law that allows songwriters and their heirs to win back rights they have signed away in 2016, as she argued she now owned her late husband’s publishing rights.
Royalties were then withdrawn from the 78-year-old singer in 2021, prompting her to take legal action and her team insisting the termination clause used by Mary was “wholly inapplicable” to the royalty agreement set out in the former couple’s divorce settlement.
The ruling may not have come as a surprise as in February, the judge said during a hearing: “I don’t think the notice of termination can affect [Cher’s] notice of contractual rights.”
The former couple – who had son Chaz, 54, together – created and performed together as Sonny and Cher during the 1960s and 70s and had their own self-titled TV show from 1971 to 1974. They were married from 1964 until 1975, with Sonny going on to wed Susie Coelho in 1981 before they split in 1984.
He and Mary, his fourth wife, tied the knot in 1986, and had two children together. Sonny also had a daughter with first wife Donna Rankin.
Meanwhile, Cher also has son Elijah, 47, with second husband Greg Allman and is currently dating producer Alexander ‘A.E.’ Edwards.

Alesha Dixon won’t encourage daughters to perform now

OHMYGOSSIP — Alesha Dixon won’t let her daughters follow in her footsteps for the foreseeable future.
The 45-year-old star is making her return to music with new single ‘Ransom’ and while her dancer husband Azuka Ononye – with whom she has Azura, 10, and four-year-old Anaya – will be performing with her when she sings on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, she’s had to tell her eldest child she can’t join them.
Alesha told The Times newspaper: “Until the day I feel like she’s emotionally intelligent enough to handle anything that comes with the industry, the answer will be no, you will not do that.”
The former Mis-Teeq singer isn’t worried about juggling motherhood and her pop career because she believes she can do anything she sets her mind to.
She said: “I can’t control what other people’s perceptions are. My feeling on it is that I can be a mother, make music, work on television, be a businesswoman.
“I can write the rules for myself.”
The ‘BGT’ judge is also keen to lead the way when it comes to female representation on television.
She said: “Who’s the female Graham Norton? Who’s the female Jonathan Ross?
“This is why you see a lot of the same shows being rehashed — because people want to play it safe with formats that have worked in the past rather than taking a risk on something new.”
Although it has been nine years since Alesha released music, she insisted she had never “parked” that part of her but she has very high standards.
She said: “There is this perception with me that I’ve parked music, but it never leaves me, it’s something I always do. I just have decided this time to actually share it.
“I have to keep challenging myself, keep finding ways to feel alive, and nothing makes me feel more alive than when I’m doing music.”

Johnny Wactor’s colleague recalls his final moments

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Wactor’s colleague is dealing with an “incredible amount of anger” after he was shot dead in front of her.
The ‘General Hospital’ actor was killed over the weekend at the age of 37 during a “robbery gone wrong” after he confronted three men apparently tampering with his car, and Anita Joy – who he had been bartending with at Level 8 nightclub in Los Angeles – is struggling with her emotions in the wake of the tragedy.
Anita told ‘Entertainment Tonight’ of her anger: “That’s something that I have been battling as far as my rollercoaster of what I’m feeling… because there’s no need for him to be shot. He could have been shoved or kicked or pushed away for them to get out of there, but these men went out there with a loaded gun at their disposal, right by their side ready to go.
“They had the full intention of going and getting this $350 car part, whatever it is, stealing that from someone, and then being able to shoot them if they think necessary… There’s a really, really dark place for people like that.”
Anita told how she and Johnny had left the club with a group of co-workers because “nobody walks out alone” but had split off at a street corner as they were parked in a different area, and it was then the terrifying incident happened.
She recalled: “As we’re walking up, everything is dark. There’s not really a lot of lighting there. There are big trees and stuff covering everything.
“We’re just shooting the s***, talking and having fun. As we walk up to the back of my car, I’m like, ‘OK this is me.’ He’s like, ‘Oh, I’m right in front of you.’ We parked at different times, so it was very random that he was directly in front of me.”
Seeing three men, the pair realised something was wrong and Johnny put his hand in front of Anita so she would stay back.
She said: “He’s a protector. He genuinely just cared about me. He would’ve done that with anyone, [even] if he didn’t know them.”
After questioning the men, one pulled out a gun and as he was shot, Johnny then fell backwards onto his friend, but she had no idea what had happened.
She said: “He turns me around and we both go toppling towards the ground. As I turn and grab him, I was like, ‘Honey, are you OK?’ ‘Cause I didn’t hear a fight. I don’t think there were any words exchanged from their side. He went, ‘Nope, shot,.’
“There’s no time to think during this, but I wasn’t feeling like, ‘Oh my God, my friend is dying.’ This was like, ‘OK, he got shot, what’s next?’ I was thinking [he was shot in] maybe a leg or arm.
“I am holding him and screaming my head off for help, because there’s no one else around, the streets are bare.
“Then a security from my work was crossing the street at the same time to come to his car and he came running over immediately calling 911. I had a long denim jacket, so we took that off and we wrapped it around him and tied it around the wound to try to stop the bleeding and then [the security guard] tried CPR on him.
“He was just kind of flickering in and out of consciousness, but he kept making big gasps,” she said. “… I was screaming at him, like, ‘Johnny, stay with me! Johnny, stay with me!’… He was just kind of gurgling… I was screaming at him to stay with me and that I love him and just begging him [to stay with me]. Those were my final words to him.”

Jessica Lange taking a break from Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Lang is going to be stepping away from Hollywood to live a more “contemplative existence”.
The 75-year-old ‘American Horror Story’ star has revealed she’s planning to take a long break from acting after her current stint on Broadway in ‘Mother Play’ comes to an end on June 16 revealing she will decamp to the countryside for some much-needed peace and quiet.
She told PEOPLE: “I’m looking forward to going back to the country and trying to live a little more of a contemplative existence – at least for a while.”
Jessica also spoke about her plans to USA Today admitting she’s going to take a “really long time off”.
She said: “I don’t have that drive you do when you’re young. It’s still thrilling when I get on stage, but I also think, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if I could just sit up in the woods in my cabin? Maybe do some traveling?’ [But now] I’m looking forward to taking a really long, long, long time off.”
It comes after Jessica admitted her latest stint on the stage – which won her a Tony Award for Best Actress – has been a lot tougher than she thought it would be.
She told Deadline.com: “It’s hard work. I’m much older now, and it’s exhausting for me. It’s funny because when they talked to me about this play and I said, Oh, it’s a very small, contained 90-minute, or hour and 45 minute, play. That’s going to be easy compared to doing ‘Long Day’s Journey Into Night’ which stretches almost four hours.
“I thought, oh, yeah, I can do that easy. What I didn’t anticipate was the velocity of emotions in it that is absolutely exhausting. And the pace at which the play moves.
“We’re hardly ever off stage. It’s like, it doesn’t stop for a moment. You can’t really go off stage and just kind of sit down for a minute and catch your breath. The pace is relentless.”

Jennie Garth reflects on body image struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennie Garth has opened up about her “rollercoaster” relationship with her body image.
The 52-year-old actress – who has Luca, 26, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 17, with ex-husband Peter Facinelli – admitted she has felt pressure to maintain her appearance, and other people’s negative comments have led to her “eating [her] feelings away”.
Speaking on her ‘I Choose Me with Jennie Garth’ podcast, she said: “”I have gone through ups and downs with my diet, with my body, my body image.
“It has been a roller coaster for me, especially being in the spotlight, and having to look a certain way and having people really critique things that they shouldn’t be critiquing.
“I’ve had to have those come-to-Jesus moments a few times, where I notice I don’t feel good, I don’t look my best, I’m bogged down or puffy and have that sort of fog.”
The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actress admitted it is at those times when she turns to unhealthy habits.
She said: “It’s just about convenience or eating my feelings away because I’ve been known to do that.
“Who hasn’t? Those are the times when you’re like, ‘I need to get a handle on this. I need to really dial this in again because it doesn’t have to be finite.'”
Jennie believes self-care is very important for wellbeing and there are certain rituals she carries out in the mornings to try and set herself up for a good day.
She said: “Every day you wake up is a new day to reset everything. How you want to feel, how you wanna see yourself, how you wanna see others. So, a great way for me to do that is in the mornings to tell myself, ‘Today is gonna be a great day.’
“And tell myself that I love myself, and I’m gonna take great care of you today.”

Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh reveals why she had to ‘fight’ her way through school years

OHMYGOSSIP — Adjoa Andoh learned to “fight” her way through her school years.
The 61-year-old actress grew up in a small English village in which she and her family were the only black people and found that the other children “seized on her difference” so learned “very quickly” how to deal with it.
She told The Guardian: “There were three black people in our village: me, my dad and my brother. I was the only girl of colour in a secondary school of over 1,000 kids. Children seize on your difference.
“But they also seize on your smartness and your comedy value. I could also fight – I learned very quickly that that was the way to say, ‘This far and no further!’
The ‘Bridgerton’ star also explained that becoming an actress was just not the done thing where she came from so shortly after her parents split up, she tried to go down the law route but ended up dropping out and experienced a “great awakening” when she discovered performing through a coach who suggested she audition for a play she was putting on in London.
She said: “Where I grew up, nobody was an actress. I had the interview at Cambridge University to do law, but I flunked all my A-levels. That was around the time my parents were divorcing.
“Eventually, I started the law degree, but bailed after two years because I’d joined a black women’s group at Bristol Polytechnic and met a San Francisco woman called Deb’bora John-Wilson, who ran acting classes. She got funded to do a show in London and suggested I audition for it – I got the part. It was a time of great awakening.”

Nicki Minaj seemingly arrested at an airport as officials tell her they need to ‘search everything’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj was seemingly arrested at an airport on Saturday (25.05.24) afternoon.
The 41-year-old rapper posted a video on Instagram that showed her trying to travel from Amsterdam to Manchester as part of her ‘Pink Friday 2’ world tour where she had a conversation with an airport official, who claimed they needed to “offload all the luggage” and carry out a search.
The official tells her: “The police officer told me we have to offload all the luggage. Okay, and to search everything, your luggage. I’m so sorry to say that.”
Nicki replied: “But isn’t that what you planned on doing from the get go? Why didn’t you guys search it before it went on the plan?”
The official tried to explain to the ‘Barbie World’ hitmaker that the check was initially random but their suspicion grew after she started filming as she vehemently denied she was carrying anything like drugs.
Nicki argued: “They asked me ‘Do I have any more in those purses?’ And I said no. And I asked him Where are my bags? They took my bags and put it on the plane before I could know what bags I wanted to place. Yeah. So…”
The ‘Super Bass’ hitmaker then alleged in the caption of her Instagram post that officials have tried to “stop” her from getting to every stop on her tour and claimed that people had been paid a lot of money to try to “sabotage” her run of shows.
She wrote: “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal!”
It is not clear exactly when or if Nicki will take to the stage at the Co-Op Live Arena on Saturday night and in her final update posted in the late afternoon, she said that she was soon to make a statement to police.
She wrote on X: “Now they said I have to go 5 mins away to make a statement about my security to the police precinct.”
It was initially planned that the doors would open at 6.30pm, with Nicki supposed to take to the stage 90 minutes later but the arena have now pushed the time back by half an hour.
The venue wrote: “Please note that general admission and premium doors for tonight’s @NickiMinaj show will now open at 19:00.”

“I don’t enjoy much outside my family, my few friends, television and crafts. I feel like a very shrunken version of myself. And I know I am meant to be big. I’m really scared of letting you guys down and I find myself fighting with myself all day in my brain with things I want to say, things I want to explain, but I’m just so fearful.”
The former ‘Lip Sync Battle’ host noted that she “misses so many parts” of herself that were once there and lives in hope that she will one day be comfortable with the notion that she will “never be perfect” for her followers and fans.

Lea Seydoux explains why she ‘struggles’ with life in general

OHMYGOSSIP — Lea Seydoux finds life to be a “struggle”.
The 38-year-old actress is starring in the futuristic film ‘The Beast’ – which is set in a world where AI reigns supreme and people have had their DNA purified to rid themselves of emotion – and admitted when asked if she ever thinks real life would be better if the human race was “robotic”, that she “sometimes” thinks it would be because she “worries” about things a lot.
She told The Sunday Times: “Sometimes. I wish that I were less worried about things. I feel everything is a struggle, living is a struggle. But, then, anguish can help. Sometimes anxiety can be a survival instinct and you surpass your fear and transform it into something creative. You transcend your fears.. everything is a struggle.
“There is a line I love: ‘Le temps d’apprendre à vivre, il est déjà trop tard.’ Beautiful.”
The phrase translates as: “By the time we learn to live, it’s already too late.”

The actress is also a keen believer that the younger generation is “super-aware” when it comes to issues like #MeToo and combatting abuse in the film industry and beyond.
She said: “The young generation is very active. I see my nieces, they are super-aware. It’s super-strong and not only in cinema. “Maybe the old generation are not completely into it, but there is a change. A move has been made.”

J.K Simmons reveals why he ‘squealed like a four-year-old’ when he first met his wife

OHMYGOSSIP — J.K Simmons “squealed like a four-year-old” when he first met his wife.
The 69-year-old actor has been married to Michelle Schumacher 57, since 1996 but revealed that when she joined a production of ‘Peter Pan’ that he was starring in in 1991, he went to her dressing room and promptly stubbed his toe after trying to be “cool” in front of her.
He told People: “As was my wont back then, I rented a car. I don’t know where I was going but I was just leaving the parking lot, and I saw our dance captain walking with this beautiful, petite blonde. I just tried my best not to be the idiot who’s craning his neck leering at this beautiful young woman.
“I wanted to just be charming and wish her a good show. “I knocked and [she said] ‘Come in’. She was, like most dancers, dressed in her dance underwear. I tried to be Mr. Cool and wish her a good show.
“And I turned around and made my smooth exit by hugely stubbing my big toe on the door of her dressing room, squealing like a four-year-old.
“Somehow, she still found me attractive!”
The Academy Award-winning star – who has Joe, 25, and 22-year-old Olivia with Michelle – found out years later that his future wife had questioned who it was who had just squealed in her dressing room without any clue that it was her future husband.
He said:” Much, much, much later, Michelle told me that she had said, ‘Oh, who’s that?’ The dance captain had said, ‘Oh, that’s J.K. He’s straight. He’s our Captain Hook.”
The pair were on tour with the show in Florida when they met and both continued starring in it when it transferred to Broadway in 1992.
