General Hospital set is ‘a little somber’ after Johnny Wactor’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘General Hospital’ set has been “a little somber” after Johnny Wactor’s death.
The actor – who played Brando Corbin on the soap from 2020 to 2022 – was fatally shot last month aged 37 during a “robbery gone wrong” after he confronted three men apparently tampering with his vehicle, and his former co-star Carolyn Hennesy admitted there is an “ugly overlay” with the way he died.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: “It was a homicide, so that lays a special ugly overlay to his particular death, and it’s been a little somber on set.”
The 61-year-old star – who has played Diane Miller on the show since 2006 – admitted returning to filming this week after a break means Wactor’s death has only just started sinking in for many of the cast and crew.
She explained: “I think people have processed a bit. We were dark last week, so people are processing in their own way.
“Also, I did not know him to the extent that I know a lot of other people. But any death, period, any death on the show, any death in my industry, I take it to heart.
“We have a lot of lovely actors on the show, and when we lose one, it’s a killer. It’s just a killer.”
After his death, Wactor’s family revealed he saved his co-worker’s life when he was shot and killed, in a description that matches that of an incident shared by the Los Angeles Police Department.
His brother Grant told the MailOnline: “We’re Southern, born and raised, and we would never let a female walk to their car by herself. We’re Southern, born and raised, and we would never let a female walk to their car by herself.
” He came across them and he thought his truck was being towed. So he said something to the guys, like, ‘Hey, are you towing?’. Once he turned around, he saw what was happening and he put his coworker behind him. That’s when they shot him.”
Johnny’s mother Scarlett initially explained to TMZ that Johnny was with a colleague when they saw three men “messing with Johnny’s car” and that the suspects “allegedly tried to steal a catalytic converter”.
Scarlett noted that Johnny “did not try to stop” the alleged suspects in their actions, and that even though paramedics rushed to the scene shortly after the shooting, he was pronounced dead in hospital.
Johnny – who had also starred in ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘Siberia’ – joined the cast of ‘General Hospital’ in early 2020 as the ex-con mechanic Brando Corbin and stayed with the show until 2022, when his character was stabbed and woke up in the hospital only to suffer a fatal seizure.

Secret service ‘threatened to tase’ Travis Kelce at White House

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce reveals secret service members genuinely threatened to tase him at the White House.
The 34-year-old NFL star – who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs and is in a relationship with Taylor Swift – addressed the nation alongside his Super Bowl LVIII winning teammates and President Joe Biden last week, and he made a cheeky quip during his brief comments.
On Friday (31.05.24), he teased: “My fellow Americans, it’s nice to see you all yet again.
“I’m not gonna lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here I’d get tased. So, I’m gonna go back to my spot.”
Now, speaking on his ‘New Heights’ podcast, he said: admitted: “That’s real.
“The secret service that’s all over the White House, they weren’t too happy with me. They weren’t too happy with me on my second time visiting.”
Last year, Travis stepped up to the podium for a spontaneous moment as he and his Patrick Mahomes visited to give Biden a custom jersey after their Super Bowl LVII win.
He joked that he had been “waiting for this”, before his taemmate stopped him, apologised, and ushed him back to the group.
To make matters worse, he had also turned up with “an expired ID”.
This year, he explained: “I made sure, because of what happened last time and how embarrassed I was for going to the White House with an expired ID, I made sure that I brought my passport with me this time.
“I was doing things the right way because everyone has to do that at the White House.”
Despite taking extra care, he was still under the watchful eye of security officials, who gave him the stark warning as he went into the room.
He recalled: “When I walked in, we had about four or five secret service members come up to me and go, ‘You know that if you go up to that podium we are authorised to tase you? It is actually ordered for us to tase you.’ ”
Travis had no clue that Biden would call him up, and he joked he could feel the eyes – and taser – on him as he said his piece.
He added: “He walked right up and the first thing he said was, [to] give me the floor. I felt taser aimed at me when I was up there the whole time.”

Paloma Faith hates the word ‘co-parenting’ for very specific reason

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Faith hates the word “co-parenting” because fathers shouldn’t be “over applauded for actually parenting”.
The 42-year-old singer – who split from her ex Leyman Lahcine in 2022 – has two daughters with her former husband, and she has hit out at the way mother-and-fatherhood is portrayed in society.
Appearing on ITV breakfast show ‘Lorraine’ in the UK, she said: “I don’t like the word co-parent because co implies it is 50/50 and I don’t believe it is.
“There are definitely some men pulling in a lot of the work.
“But in the majority of cases it is the woman who deals with the mental load that comes with being a parent and also has them the majority of the time.”
She insisted she wasn’t attacking her ex, but argued there didn’t need to be another word used for being a dad.
She added: “I’m not saying that I don’t think my children’s dad is amazing, but I think we need to say what is actually happening and not over compliment the men.
“So I don’t use the word ‘co-parent’, I say, ‘Oh my kids go to their dads a few nights a week’ and I’m so happy that they do that and that they’ve got a lovely father
“But let’s not over compliment them because they do get that all the time… Let’s not over applaud them for actually parenting.”
Although the ‘How You Lose a Man’ hitmaker – who wrote about her split on new album ‘The Glorification of Sadness’ – is glad her daughters have their dad in their life, she admitted it makes things difficult when it comes to moving on from their breakup.
She recently told the ‘Great Company with Jamie Laing’ podcast: “Well, just because you finished the album doesn’t mean the trauma has gone away.
“But I think in the past up till, like so my first five albums, were all albums that I felt like I’d put something to bed with.
“But I think this is ongoing navigation, because we have children together. And that’s what makes this a different type of heartbreak album.
“Because the heartbreak will be forever and, and the navigation of our relationship changing shape will be forever probably till we die. You can’t really let go of somebody you’ve got kids with.”

Michael Richards: ‘I cancelled myself out to get away from showbusiness’

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Richards deliberately “cancelled” himself with his infamous comedy club racist rant so he could escape showbusiness.
The ‘Seinfeld’ actor, 74, made a fortune and was skyrocketed to global fame playing Kramer on the hit comedy sitcom but was disgraced and blacklisted from the entertainment industry after he was filmed unleashing a tirade of racial slurs during a 2006 stand-up show at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.
Michael has now told Hoda Kotb, 59, on ‘Today’ about how he thinks the incident was a case of self-sabotage: “Anger had a hold of me, and I cancelled myself out. Take an exodus. Get away from showbusiness and see what the heck was going on inside of me to be so despicable that night, losing my cool and hurting.”
He added about how he has to forgive himself for the incident: “I have to move on, be very true-blue about that.”
Michael has also told People about how the root of his rage that prompted his racist outburst was his discovery he was conceived as the result of a sexual assault, with his mother initially putting him up for adoption before changing her mind.
He said: “It is definitely something that I have had to look into over the years to discover how my anger arises out of a feeling of inferiority.
“I have a temper, and it stems from that unwantedness, not being acceptable, not being understood, not being good enough to be liked or even loved.”
Michael also admitted even when he was welcomed into the entertainment industry his insecurities led him to turn down major opportunities.
He added: “I said no to the offer of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I didn’t feel deserving.
“I said no to hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ twice because I didn’t feel good enough.”

Prince William’s wife Princess Catherine ‘better’ and ‘would have loved’ to have been at D-Day commemorations

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William’s wife Princess Catherine is “better” and “would have loved” to have joined him at this year’s D-Day commemorations.
The heir to the British throne, 41, gave an update on the mother-of-three’s condition as she undergoes preventative cancer treatment when he appeared alongside his cancer-battling father King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, 76, as they stood alongside war veterans during an 80th anniversary event marking the 1944 Normandy landings.
He spoke of Catherine during the ceremony in Portsmouth on Wednesday (05.06.24) afternoon, after delivering a speech to veterans and while meeting with members of the public.
When one war survivor asked after William’s wife amid her health fight, footage posted on X showed him replying: “She is better, thanks. She would’ve loved to be here today.”
William added at the event, hosted by the Ministry of Defence at Southsea Common, he had been speaking with women who worked at Bletchley Park as codebreakers during World War Two alongside Catherine’s grandmother, Valerie Middleton.
The royal added: “I was reminding everyone how her grandmother served at Bletchley so she had quite a bit in common with some of the ladies here.”
He also told one woman at the event: “My wife’s grandmother did the same sort of thing as you. Catherine only found out at the end of her life.”
Valerie worked with her twin sister Mary in Hut 16 at Bletchley Park as part of the team of codebreakers who unlocked the secrets of the German Enigma machine, with their efforts hailed as ultimately helping to win the war for Britain.
Speaking to other veterans, William said: “I found it very moving, all the stories and letters, even now 80 years later.”
When one veteran told William “thank you”, the prince replied: “No, we are here to thank you. We are here to say a big thank you and to all your colleagues and friends who didn’t make it back.”
Charles also spoke at the event, and was introduced to a 99-year-old paratrooper who turns 100 in August – and joked: “I’ll have your card ready.”
In his first speech since it was revealed in February he was battling an undisclosed form of cancer following a corrective procedure to treat an enlarged prostate the previous month, Charles said about WW2 personnel while wearing medals and with Camilla by his side: “We are all eternally in their debt.”
He added: “The stories of courage, resilience and solidarity which you have heard today and throughout our lives cannot fail to move us, to inspire us and to remind us of what we owe to that great wartime generation, now tragically dwindling to so few.
“It is our duty to ensure that we and future generations do not forget their service and their sacrifice in replacing tyranny with freedom.”
William said in his speech to the crowds: “Our guests of honour today are those veterans from the Normandy landing, that came from across our nation and from all walks of life to join in the fight against tyranny.
“Many of those that took up arms had never seen combat before, some were still only in their teens.”
William also read emotional letters from diaries of war heroes, adding: “We will always remember those who served and those who waved them off.
“The mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters who watched their loved ones go into battle, unsure if they would ever return.
“Today we remember the bravery of those who crossed this sea to liberate Europe. Those who ensured that Operation Overlord was a success.
“And those who waited for their safe return.”
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak took to the stage and read veterans’ letters at the event, which was also attended by Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary, Lord David Cameron.

Taylor Swift brands Lady Gaga pregnancy speculation ‘invasive and irresponsible’

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift is branding the Lady Gaga pregnancy speculation “invasive and irresponsible”.
The ‘Bad Blood’ singer, 34, hit out after fans and commentators filled the Internet over the weekend with theories Gaga, 38, was expecting a baby after she attended her sister Natali Germanotta’s wedding rehearsal dinner in a black mini dress that some insisted showed she had a baby bump.
Taylor has now fumed under a video posted by Gaga to deny she was pregnant: “Can we all agree that it’s invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body?
“Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation and neither does any woman. (Kiss emoji.)”
Taylor’s support for Gaga comes a day after the ‘Poker Face’ singer told fans she was “not pregnant” in a message on TikTok alongside a video of her working amid mounting speculation she was going to be a mum for the first time.
Gaga also used her message to quote Taylor’s lyrics from her new song ‘Down Bad’ from her ‘Tortured Poets Department’ album and said on TikTok: “Just down bad cryin’ at the gym.”
Gaga turned up at her sister’s wedding with her 46-year-old rumoured fiancé, entrepreneur Michael Polansky.
Even though Taylor and Gaga have never collaborated, the pair have supported one another online on a string of occasions.
In January last year, Gaga praised Taylor for speaking out about her eating disorder in a resurfaced clip from her 2020 documentary ‘Miss Americana’.
Taylor had told how she “gradually” developed an eating disorder as a young star, saying she “wasn’t eating” and “exercised a lot” in an effort to fit into beauty standards.
She said: “There is always some standard of beauty that you’re not meeting, ’cause if you’re thin enough then you don’t have that a** that everybody wants. “But if you have enough weight on you that you have an a** then you’re stomach isn’t flat enough. It’s all just f****** impossible.”
Gaga – who has also been open about her history of eating disorders – commented on the clip online: “That’s really brave everything you said (black heart emoji) wow.”

Tori Spelling got veneers after letting teeth turn to ‘s***’ in her 40s

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Spelling got veneers after letting her teeth turn to “s***” after she reached 40.
The 51-year-old ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actress – who recently said she ended up with chipped gnashers after rough kissing with her co-star on the show Jason Priestley – opened up about the disgraceful state of her mouth as she talked about how she got it rectified by celebrity dentist Dr Kevin Sands.
Tori had the expert on the latest episode of her ‘misSPELLING’ podcast, during which she showed off her new smile and said she turned to him after her teeth became “disgusting, to say the least”.
Tori said: “I couldn’t smile anymore. I didn’t smile. I didn’t have a cavity until I was 40. That was all downhill from there.”
Dr Kevin, who is responsible for a raft of A-listers’ smiles, admitted Tori came to him with “chipped” and “discoloured” teeth, adding: “You didn’t look like the Tori I used to know.”
He charges anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 per tooth, and said he had “reshaped” each one of Spelling’s teeth and handcrafted each of her veneers to “rebuild” her smile to the way it was 20 years ago.
He said: “Now you have a full smile. They’re white, gorgeous, sexy. Look at you. You look 10 years younger.”
Tori added she has “never been happier” since undergoing the cosmetic surgery, adding: “I smile now. There’s a whole new me. People underestimate me.”
The actress’ dental work comes after she talked about how Jason Priestley damaged her mouth with his “good” but “aggressive” kissing.
She said on her podcast in May about how they got involved: “I was shooting a TV movie in Vancouver, he was directing a TV show in Vancouver.
“Yeah, we had a fun summer.”
She added Jason “broke” her fellow actress Jennie Garth’s “face” with his kissing on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, saying: “She says she has TMJ (jaw disorder temporomandibular joint dysfunction) because of him, and a clicking jaw.”
Tori added her dentistry was reduced to her “last priority” when she married Dean McDermott, 57, andhad five children.
The former couple separated in June 2023 after 17 years of marriage, with Tori waiting nine months to file for divorce.
Her costly dental work also came despite she and Dean owing more than $200,000 on a 12-year-old bank loan.
Court documents showed the actress owes City National Bank nearly $220,000, while her actor ex is liable for the other $202,000.

Michael Richards ‘motivated’ to write memoir after beating prostate cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Richards was “motivated” to write his memoir after beating prostate cancer.
The ‘Seinfeld’ actor used his autobiography ‘Entrances and Exits’, released on June 4, to reveal he waged a secret battle with the disease after he was diagnosed with it in 2018.
He has now told Hoda Kotb, 59, in a rare sit-down interview on the ‘Today’ show about how he drew a positive from his health fight: “I made it – I beat it – and that certainly motivated me to get into the book because I went through a big review of my life.”
The actor also revealed he was so riddled with insecurities he never watched his performances as Kramer on ‘Seinfeld’.
It was only when his son Antonio – who he had with his second and current wife Beth Skipp, who he married in 2010 – reached the age of nine that he said he finally watched the series all the way through alongside the youngster.
He added: “I’m his dad and I’m kinda kooky around the house, so for him to see all that on television, the comedy of the show, was pretty amazing.”
But Michael admitted his boy’s favourite character wasn’t Kramer – but vindictive postman Newman, played by 68 year old Wayne Knight.
Michael also has daughter Sophie with his first wife Cathleen Lyons, a family therapist to whom he was married for 18 years.
The actor ended up cancelled in 2006 when footage emerged of him launching into a furious racist tirade during a stand-up set in Los Angeles, and also told Hoda he hopes people can now see is he trying to be “better” as he makes a return to the spotlight in the wake of years away from showbusiness in the wake of outrage over the still-infamous incident.
He said: “I’m human (and am) striving to be a better person. There’s a good, bad and an ugly.”
Referring to the title of his autobiography, Michael added: “The entrances and the exits – always ongoing, a coming and a going.
“Just discovering myself along the way, it’s really a pleasure. It’s hard work though, in dealing with the living and the dying.”

Jake Gyllenhaal insists being legally blind has helped his acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Gyllenhaal insists being legally blind has been “advantageous” to his career.
The ‘Donnie Darko’ actor, 43, has 20/1250 vision and has been wearing intensive corrective lenses since he was six years old after being born with a lazy eye, which naturally resolved.
He told The Hollywood Reporter about being classified as legally sightless: “I like to think it’s advantageous. I’ve never known anything else.
“When I can’t see in the morning, before I put on my glasses, it’s a place where I can be with myself.”
Jake told how he removed his contacts for a scene in his 2015 boxing drama ‘Southpaw’ in which police told his character Billy ‘The Great’ Hope his wife is dead as he said the move forced himself to appear as if he was listening “more closely” to the cops.
Jake also revealed he has been actively seeking projects that “freak me out a bit”.
He said: “The feeling I want to have is, ‘Can I do it?’ That it’s going to ask of me things that I don’t know about myself yet.”
Jake’s last role as bouncer and MMA fighter Elwood Dalton in his remake of the cult Patrick Swayze favourite ‘Road House’ put him to the test.
He chiselled down his body to five per cent body fat for the part – and endured a staph infection from pressing his hand down on a bunch of broken glass after shooting a fight scene in the flick.
But Jake admitted he is prepared for this philosophy of taking on extreme challenges to eventually backfire.
He added: “There are movies I’ve made that people have said to me, ‘Man, intense. That was great. It was tough.’
“And there have been many different times where I’m like, ‘Wait, what’s it like to make a movie and be like, ‘That was just fun?’
“‘Road House’ was definitely that.”

The TMZ report said the exes alleged reunion was “friendly”, but there is “nothing romantic” going on between them “right now”.
Jason briefly served as one of Britney’s conservators alongside her 71-year-old father Jamie Spears.
Jamie controversially established the conservatorship in 2008 as his daughter publicly struggled with her mental health.
He was finally suspended from controlling her personal and financial affairs in 2021 after a marathon court fight by Britney to regain independence over decisions about her personal life and finances.
A Los Angeles judge axed the legal arrangement after Britney called it “abusive”.
Jason spoke out last year about his role in the arrangement, admitting he thought Britney “needed” it to provide structure in her life.
He told the ‘Kevco, The Company Podcast’: “I’m not saying just finances. I’m saying for other reasons, for therapy and stuff like that, or stopping her from seeing certain individuals that were not great for her to be in her life.”
Britney said in her 2023 memoir ‘The Woman In Me’ her feelings towards Jason “changed” after he became her co-conservator.
She added: “I couldn’t see it then, but I see now that having him tied up with the organization controlling my life might have played a part in draining the romance out of our relationship.
“There came a point when I realised that I didn’t have any bad feelings toward him, but I also didn’t love him anymore.”
Three-times married Britney has two sons – Sean Preston, 18, and 17 year old Jayden James – with her second husband, 46 year old Kevin Federline.
She was recently said to be dating her former housekeeper Paul Richard Soliz, 37, who has been widely reported to have an extensive criminal record, though it is not clear whether they are still together.
The pair were said to have been involved in a bust up at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles in May, which led Britney to issue a public denial she had suffered a “breakdown” at the celebrity spot.
It is unclear whether she and Paul are still together.

Keira Knightley among celebs demanding showbiz crackdown on bullying and sexual harassment

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley, Cara Delevingne, Carey Mulligan, Rebecca Ferguson, Naomie Harris and Emerald Fennell are among the female celebrities demanding a clampdown on bullying and sexual harassment in showbusiness.
The group are only six of 25 high-profile names who submitted an open letter calling on creative bodies in Britain to help fund a new watchdog – the Creative Industry Independent Standards Authority (CIISA) – to probe complaints in the music, film, television and theatre industries.
Their letter stated: “So many of us in this industry would have loved to have an objective outside body that we could go to for advice, for mediation and in the very extreme circumstances, that we might need some outside body to hold people accountable for the bad behaviour or bad practices that sometimes happen on our sets, on our stages, behind the scenes.
“And we are far from being alone in recognising this need.”
It adds the signatories “believe (a watchdog will be) a very necessary part of a range of interventions driving for much-needed change.”
The group Time’s Up UK has been calling for the creation of an independent standards authority since 2021.
But funding for it has been slow, and despite British broadcasters including the BBC, ITV and Sky all contributing, Ciisa has said the launch can only move forward at the end of the year if they receive more from top industry bodies.
The celebrity-backed letter went on: “Please support CIISA. This issue needs to be tackled by everyone working together.
“We need and it will become the blueprint across the globe for keeping our creative industries safe.”
BBC boss Tim Davie, 57, said: “CIISA will be a force for good across the entire industry. We all need to do everything we can to create an industry where everyone feels totally safe to do their best work.
“That’s why the BBC is actively working with others to support its development.”
A recent report by creatives union Bectu said a survey of more than 200 industry professionals showed 92 per cent had personally witnessed or experienced bullying or harassment on grounds of their sex or gender in the workplace.
The research also concluded claims including those of rape, assault and emotional abuse made against comic Russell Brand, 49, have done little to “shift the dial” in the entertainment business when it comes to both harassment and support systems.
