Bethenny Frankel: I’m happy being alone

OHMYGOSSIP — Bethenny Frankel is “perfectly happy being alone”.
The 53-year-old TV star has revealed that her 14-year-old daughter, Bryn, isn’t “boy crazy or desperate” – and Bethenny sees some strong similarities between herself and her daughter.
She told Us Weekly: “I like that she’s not boy crazy or desperate.
“But she sees that in me. I’m perfectly happy being alone – I’m an only child, and so is she – and that’s an important thing to learn. She’s doing great, honestly. She’s a good kid.”
Bethenny experienced a difficult childhood – but motherhood is something that’s come “naturally” to her.
She said: “We can say I’m breaking the chain and it’s because of the [upbringing] I had, but I don’t ask for advice on parenting. I had my daughter, clicked in, connected and felt like I knew where I was supposed to be. I’m confident and secure in it, the way that I am in business.”
Bryn has already developed a sizeable following on social media, and Bethenny feels very proud of what she’s managed to accomplish so far.
The TV star – who was married to Jason Hoppy between 2010 and 2021 – shared: “She’s artistic and creative. She does [beauty] reviews [on social media], but she doesn’t want my help which is really nice.
“She has her own following, and people engage. She knows she’s building a small community, and she’s expressing herself creatively. She’s got a good balance with that too.”
By contrast, Bethenny previously acknowledged that raising a teenager isn’t easy.
She explained: “We’re right ‘be-tween’ childhood and adulthood, where they think they know everything, but your job is to protect them from the world and themselves. I love parenting!”

The actress – who is, perhaps, best known for playing Tina Cohen-Chang in the comedy-drama series ‘Glee’ – told PEOPLE: “I was actually on vacation in New York visiting my family at the time. “I’m looking for someone who is safe and reliable and emotionally mature, emotionally stable, and someone who’s gonna treat me right.”
Despite this, Rachel insisted she won’t rush into anything.
She explained: “I definitely wouldn’t sleep with someone on the third date, especially because I already have a reputation. [I] don’t need people making assumptions about me being easy.”
What’s more, Rachel acknowledged that she was following her heart rather than her head during her affair with Tom.
The TV star shared: “With Tom, it was like it was a secret relationship that I was thinking with my heart and not logically.”
Tom split from Ariana Madix after news of their affair became public, and Rachel subsequently took to social media to issue a public apology.

She said: “I am reflecting on my choices, speaking to a counselor and I am learning things about myself such as my patterns of codependency and addiction to being and feeling loved. I have sought emotional validation through intimate connections that are not healthy without regard for my own well-being, sometimes negatively affecting others and often prioritizing the intimate connection over my friendships. I am taking steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices. (sic)”

Teri remains open to finding love – but it’s not her focus.
She said: “I mean, I don’t want to say I’ve given up. My heart is open.
“But, you know, I have lovely friends. I travel, I experience things. I take care of my parents. I love my cats. I garden. I go to the beach … It’s just a very full life and the truth is, I think this person, if there ever is one, is just going to have to be really special, you know.”

Usher ‘slows down’ on Wednesdays

OHMYGOSSIP — Usher makes a concerted effort to “slow down” on Wednesdays.
The 45-year-old singer has explained how his late grandmother has influenced his approach to his own health and wellbeing.
Speaking to ‘Extra’, Usher shared: “Sometimes I fast and I have other juices … but for the most part, it’s about fasting and not consuming on that day.
“It’s not religious as much as it’s a practice that me and my grandmother, who is no longer here, shared and her prayer group is really part of the reason I decided to keep doing it.
“That day now has been reserved to be able to connect to something, to slow down.”
Usher also revealed that he feels proud of Atlanta roots.
The award-winning music star said: “It’s been a city of dreams and those dreams become reality … I’m very happy to be a representative of it and also to be able to take what I created in Atlanta and bring it to the rest of the world.”

The chart-topping singer told WSJ. Magazine: “I fast, not for religious purposes, but it’s something my grandmother practised.
“I fast on Wednesdays. I typically try to start around 11pm the previous day, then go the entire day on Wednesday just drinking water.”
Usher is similarly particular about his exercise routines, too.
The ‘U Remind Me’ hitmaker – who performed the Super Bowl half-time show earlier this year – explained: “I don’t like to eat breakfast before I’ve worked out or done something physical, taking a walk, stretching or doing yoga, sitting in the sun and raising my body’s natural heat levels. Then I eat.”

Celine Dion ’embarrassed’ by seizures

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion feels “embarrassed” every time she suffers a seizure.
Two years ago Celine, 56, revealed she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disease that causes involuntary spasms and muscle rigidity, and Celine admitted the disorder has taken its toll on her both physically and mentally.
Speaking in her Amazon Prime Video special ‘I Am: Celine Dion’, she said: “Every time this happens it makes you feel so embarrassed. You don’t like to not have control of yourself.”
However, Celine has taken strength from two strong women, late opera singer Maria Callas and her own mother Thérése, who brought up 14 children on limited funds.
She said: “My husband [René Angélil – who died in 2016 after battling throat cancer] offered this [a necklace] to me. It was owned by Maria Callas. I hope she gives me some strength – I think she will.
“My mum was a very strong person. Sometimes ehere was nothing left in the fridge but she never told us that we had nothing to eat. She would make dough and there were carrots – she made a few beautiful hot pies. She said that she prayed that she wouldn’t hear ‘Mum, what is that?’
“Mum is the superhero. We only felt love, affection, attention – I have that in me. That is my greatest foundation.”

Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt ‘expecting another baby’

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Schwarzenegger is pregnant.
The 34-year-old author already has daughters Lyla, three, and two-year-old Eloise with husband Chris Pratt – who is also dad to 11-year-old Jack from his marriage to Anna Faris – and now the couple have another baby on the way, People magazine reports.
Sources also confirmed the news to TMZ, though it is unknown if Katherine is expecting a baby boy or a girl, or when she is due to give birth.
On Friday (28.06.24) morning, Katherine had shared some photos of a family outing, but she only appeared in the first picture and had her back to the camera, so no bump was visible.
She captioned the Instagram post: “Things that make me happy: A gloomy morning followed by a barn visit [smiley face and heart emojis] (sic) ”
Katherine previously spoke of how she is happy to ask for help when it comes to juggling raising her family with her writing work and hosting her ‘BDA Baby’ Instagram Live series.
Speaking at DSW’s ‘Best Foot Forward’ panel event in honour of Women’s History Month in March 2023, she said: “I’m a big believer [in asking for help] — I feel like on Instagram we see all these moms that are like, ‘I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all, I’m doing it all on my own,’ blah-blah and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to do it all on my own.’
“I want to lean on my sister, I want to lean on my mom, I want to lean on my girlfriends, my mom friends. I want to be honest and transparent and also say, ‘I can’t make this today. My kid’s sick. She was up all night teething. I need to be a mom right now.’
“So I think being able to be open about the fact that you don’t have to do it all, you can lean on people, you can enlist help from others and being okay with that.
“That, I feel, is such a big struggle for women in general, but I think especially if you’re balancing multiple roles, is saying, ‘I need help today,’ and that’s okay.”

Courteney Cox ‘fine’ with turning 60

OHMYGOSSIP — Courteney Cox is “fine” about turning 60.
The former ‘Friends’ star celebrated her milestone birthday earlier this month but she isn’t upset about getting older and doesn’t think time has changed her “one bit”.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I’m fine with it. I love my life and I love that I’m still working after all this time. I’m feeling very grateful…
“If anything, I’m probably more compassionate [now]. I speak my mind, but people who know me can handle it. With me, you certainly get what you get.”
The ‘Scream’ actress – who has 20-year-old daughter Coco with ex-husband David Arquette and is in a relationship with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid – believes her creative nature has helped her stay young at heart.
She said: “Overcoming challenges, being creative and thinking outside the box is what makes life exciting. It keeps you young.”
Looking back on her life, Courteney regrets being a “comparative person” while working on ‘Friends’ with Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc and the late Matthew Perry.
She said: “The one thing I wish I hadn’t been is a comparative person. There’s a lot of stuff that can mess with your ego, being on a show in an ensemble like that.
“It’s hard. It was a lot of learning for me. I wish I hadn’t ever spent time comparing.”
As well as acting, Courtney has also directed, and she recalled her daughter having an uncredited role in ‘Just Before I Go’ when she was just 10 years old.
She laughed: “She was always a little hot-headed. Coco is someone who doesn’t always take direction too well. She thinks she knows what to do and is usually right.”

Judge rules Alec Baldwin’s criminal trial will go ahead

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin’s criminal trial will go ahead next month, a judge has ruled.
The 66-year-old actor’s involuntary manslaughter charge was upheld for the third time in five weeks by Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer on Friday (28.06.24), despite his lawyers seeking to have the case thrown out after arguing “due process” had been violated because the gun which fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust’ in October 2021 had been destroyed when government agents tested it, meaning the defense couldn’t carry out their own testing process.
The judge heard testimony and arguments on the motion on 21 and 24 June before making her ruling.
She wrote: “The Court finds and concludes that Defendant fails to establish that the State acted in bad faith when destroying certain internal components of the firearm in the course of the accidental discharge testing.
“In other words, the evidence before the Court does not demonstrate that the State or its agents knew that the unaltered firearm possessed exculpatory value at the time of accidental discharge testing, and nonetheless destroyed it, thereby indicating that the evidence may have exonerated the Defendant.”
But the judge noted prosecutors must “fully disclose the destructive nature of the firearm testing, the resulting loss, and its relevance and import to the jury.”
She added: “The State must examine appropriate witnesses to achieve this disclosure. In addition, Defendant remains entitled to cross-examination of the State’s witnesses, to further accomplish this remedy.”
Alec was holding the gun when it discharged by has insisted he didn’t pull the trigger and didn’t know why it contained live ammunition, prompting prosecutors to order forensic testing on the weapon.
The ‘Boss Baby’ star’s lawyers wrote in their motion: “Government agents knew that the firearm would not survive their clumsy ‘tests’ intact. They said so explicitly in emails.
“But at the insistence of prosecutors eager to prove a celebrity’s guilt, they nevertheless blundered ahead without preserving the original state of the firearm through photographs, video or other means; without informing Baldwin or his counsel they were conducting destructive testing; and without any realistic prospect that bludgeoning the gun would reveal whether Baldwin had pulled the trigger on the day of the accident.
“The destruction of potentially exculpatory evidence violates due process.”
But the prosecution insisted due process hadn’t been violated and investigators had “carefully documented” the gun’s condition before testing.

Camila Cabello urges Drake and Kendrick Lamar to ‘have dinner’

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello thinks Drake and Kendrick Lamar should “have dinner” and resolve their feud.
The two rappers have been locked in a war of words via a series of diss tracks, and now the ‘I Luv It’ hitmaker has waded into the row and admitted she has found it “frustrating” to watch.
Camila was asked her opinion on the row because Drake features on both ‘Hot Uptown’ and ‘Uuugly’ on her new album ‘C, XOXO’.
She told The Times newspaper: “It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a way that is negative. You’re like, ‘Dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’”
The former Fifth Harmony singer’s collaboration with the ‘God’s Plan’ hitmaker came about after she slid into his DMs but she admitted she didn’t expect him to reply.
She said: “It’s like a weird teenage thing where I feel that nobody cares about me or likes me. And it was fun to be proven wrong.”
Meanwhile, Sheryl Crow recently slammed Drake for the “hateful” act of using AI to resurrect Tupac Shakur’s voice on ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’, one of his Kendrick diss tracks.
The 37-year-old rapper utilised artificial intelligence to clone the murdered performer’s voice on his Kendrick Lamar “diss track” earlier this year – although the tune was subsequently removed after Tupac’s estate threatened legal action – but Sheryl thinks it should have never been released at all.
She told the BBC: “You cannot bring people back from the dead and believe they would stand for that.
“I’m sure Drake thought, ‘Yeah, I shouldn’t do it, but I’ll say sorry later.’ But it’s already done, and people will find even if he takes it down.
“It’s hateful. It is antiethical to the life force that exists in all of us.”

I have such fond memories of working with him and being in awe of his huge body of work which before #SabrinaTheTeemageWitch included #Roseanne and #MrMom as the projects I knew him from.
“And after our sabrina days, his body of work multiplied with guest star and recurring roles on huge shows as well as features and animation.
“He once told me that he takes every job he’s offered just in case the train comes to an end, which in this business tends to halt quickly.
“But he was an artist who liked to paint and build things with his hands, a musician and a wonderful man who i am better for knowing. He will be missed but this world has benefited from his being here.
“My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. I will continue to cherish the Martin Mull art work hanging in my home!”
Martin first rose to fame in the 1970s after starring in soap opera parody ‘Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman’ and spin-offs ‘Fernwood 2 Night’ and ‘America 2 Night’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kiefer Sutherland believes his dad’s success “helped” him in his own acting career.
The 57-year-old star is the son of actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, and Kiefer has acknowledged the role that his late father played in his success.
Kiefer told The Times newspaper: “Me and my dad really got to know each other after I left home at 15.
“My parents split when I was three and my mum, sister and I moved to Canada, so I didn’t live with my dad. I would see him at Christmas and for a couple of weeks in the summer. I certainly did see him, but it was really relegated to around holidays.
“I have to believe that having the same surname as my dad has helped me at times. There must have been moments where people who were friendly with my dad leant towards helping me.
