OHMYGOSSIP — Minnie Driver says marrying Josh Brolin would have been “the biggest mistake of my life”.
The 54-year-old actress – who has 15-year-old son Henry with former partner Timothy J. Lea – got engaged to Josh, 56, back in 2001 but the pair called things off just five months later and Minnie feels it was the best decision for everyone.
Speaking to The Times magazine, she said: “The one time I was engaged, it would have been, I think, the biggest mistake of my life.”
Minnie – who also had a high-profile romance with Matt Damon – explained that the relationship of her parents, Gaynor and Charles, affected her own views on relationships as they never married due to her father’s infidelities.
She said: “If I look at my history, what it did was make me want to be married so much and then choose men who were so not the right men to be married to.
“So I would carry on longing to be married and to have that conservative version [of a relationship], find men who had no interest in that, and then if one did, run a mile.
“But now I’m with someone [the American writer and director Addison O’Dea] who doesn’t want to get married but who is the most devoted, loving, extraordinary… Everything I could have wanted in my childhood idea of a husband, he actually is.”
Minnie and Addison have been dating since 2019.
Meanwhile, the actress also opened up about taking a step back from making films after her son Henry was born in 2008.
She said: “It’s why I stopped making movies, really consciously. I called my agent and went, ‘OK, I’m having a baby and I would really like you to go and look for a show… in Los Angeles and will pay me a regular wage.
“As a single mum, I didn’t want him to have that uncertainty. I wanted him to have school and football and mates and tea and his own bed and our house.
“And it was so lovely because with what you consciously give your children, you can perhaps at the same time be giving yourself the thing that you did not have.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Costner’s son is named after his character in ‘Horizon’.
The 69-year-old actor cast his son Hayes, 15 – whose mother is Costner’s ex Christine Baumgartner – in his latest film ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ and revealed he has been working on the idea so long that Hayes actually got his name from the main character.
He told HELLO! magazine: “He had never acted before but he did a good job. It’s a small part but I was glad to be able to help him and that he was able to be with me on this, and that he was able to follow the level of direction that I was able to give him.
“Hayes actually gets his name from my character in this, Hayes Ellison. That’s how long I’ve been working on this project. It’s a story I’ve wanted to tell since before he was born. It’s beautiful that he’s here to help me tell it.”
Kevin spent millions of his own money on the movie and revealed he was so passionate about the project that he didn’t care about spending his own cash.
He said: “It was so hard to get people to believe in the movie that I wanted to make.
“I made this movie for me, but I also make it for the people, for audiences. It was the same with ‘Dances with Wolves’, ‘Field of Dreams’, ‘Bull Durham’, ‘Open Range’. I never think my movie is better than anybody else’s movie, but I don’t think anybody else’s movie is better than mine. It just so happens that my moves are harder to make.
“My problem is that if I think something is good, I have to do it anyway.
“But I’m lucky. I’ve been lucky in life and I’ve acquired some things – land, four homes. I’m at a point where I don’t need four homes so I’m willing to take a risk to make my movies. Ideally, I want to leave those homes to my children but they live their own lives. Hopefully this will go well and I won’t lose any homes, but it is a risk.
“I’m passionate about the work, sure. I still like it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Usher received the Lifetime Achievement Award and was honoured with an epic tribute at the BET Awards 2024.
The ‘Yeah!’ hitmaker was handed his prize by producing duo Baby Face and L.A. Reid, who co-founded the label LaFace Records, which signed Usher when he was a teen.
The R’n’B icon’s speech was partially censored as he was overcome with emotion.
He began: “Obviously tonight is a celebration of many things being able to be recognised for this Life Achievement award that’s coming.
“I’m really happy to still be a part of the fight, you know what I’m saying.”
The 45-year-old singer, who was also crowned Best Male R’n’B Pop Artist went on to pay tribute to all the fathers who are “being generals” and providing their sons with the “motivation” to be “our future Black leaders”.
The father-of-four added in his speech: “To fathers tonight at home or in this audience, I would like you to stand up.
“Far too often, we get to this moment on we are able to say to our mothers, ‘Look mom, I made it.’ We don’t get chance to say enough ‘Dad, I did it.’
“So this one is for all the men out there being generals to their sons and motivation for our future Black leaders, young men. Thank you, guys, so much for this honour.”
Usher also mentioned his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, insisting he’s “turning over a new leaf.”
He said: “I’m trying, Tameka.”
At one point, he quipped: “This life achievement award, I don’t know, man, is it too early to receive it?
“‘Cause I’m still runnin’ and gunnin’ like I did when I was eight years old.”
For the show-stopping tribute, Childish Gambino, KeKe Palmer, CoCo Jones, Chloe Bailey, Tinashe, Latto, and more took to the stage for a medley of his classics, including
Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis also paid homage to the ‘Love In This Club’ singer.
Keke Palmer performed ‘You Make Me Wanna’, much to the delight of screaming Usher, Coco Jones did ‘There Goes My Baby’, Chloe Bailey wowed with her rendition of ‘Good Kisser’, and Teyana Taylor and Victoria Monet nailed their duet of ‘Bad Girl’, which Usher did with Beyonce.
Latto ended the tribute by replacing Ludacris’ on his verse on ‘Yeah!’.
Rap titan Megan Thee Stallion dazzled when she opened the show with an energetic performance of ‘BOA’ and ‘Where Them Girls At’.
Will Smith, as expected, debuted his new single, ‘You Can Make It’, with Gospel icon Kirk Franklin and the Sunday Service Choir joining him.
Killer Mike’s album ‘Michael’ was named Album of the Year.
Victoria Monet won her first BET Award, the BETHer prize, for ‘On My Mama’,
Joined by her mother, she said: “This is really amazing. It’s such an honour to receive this award, especially the “BET Her” award, because I’m so proud to be a black woman; this is the lady that I put it on. This my mama.”
She also won Video of the Year.
‘Water’ hitmaker Tyla was crowned New Artist and Best International Artist.
Lauryn Hill closed the bash with a series of career gems.
Taraji P. Henson hosted the star-studded ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night (30.06.24).

OHMYGOSSIP — Normani missed the BET Awards on Sunday (30.06.24) after injuring herself “badly” in rehearsals.
The former Fifth Harmony star, 28, took to social media to share how “frustrated” she was to miss the bash at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, after doctors gave her orders to rest up.
She wrote on her Instagram Story: “I am more frustrated and disappointed than anyone believe me.
“I wanted to get on here and give you guys an update letting you know that while in rehearsals for BET I had a really bad accident and injured myself. I am normally good for powering through under any circumstance but unfortunately due to my doctor’s orders, I am just not able to make this performance happen.”
Her knee was wrapped in a bandage, and she was on crutches in a picture shared to the app.
She said: “I desperately wanted to give you my best on that stage but performing would delay my healing.”
She concluded: “Trust me, I hear you, and I see you.
“There is nothing more that I wanted to do than perform for you and also, get back to doing what fulfils me most-being on stage. Thank you so much for understanding… ”
It was set to be her first live performance since releasing her debut solo album, ‘Dopamine’, on June 14.

OHMYGOSSIP — Niecy Nash-Betts has been “pleasantly surprised” by Travis Kelce’s acting skills.
The 54-year-old actress revealed in May she would be sharing the screen with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror series ‘Grotesquerie’ and despite his lack of previous experience, the ‘When They See Us’ star has been impressed by his talent on camera.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “You know what, I’m pleasantly surprised. He’s doing really well.”
Niecy has been trying to mentor Travis and helping with his scripts.
She said of their typical rehearsal process: “Us sitting around eating In-N-Out reading words off a piece of paper.”
But the ‘Mrs. America’ actress played coy when quizzed on whether she’d been asking Travis about his famous girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
She said: “Well now I don’t ask and tell! Let me just say that.”
Although plot details for ‘Grotesquerie’ are being kept under wraps, Niecy is thrilled with her “very dark” role.
She said: “I’ve never played a role like this. It’s very dark, I’m so excited for people to see it.”
And Travis may not be the only famous face set to make an unexpected appearance.
She said: “There may be a few cameos. I’m not going to name names. But it’s a good time.”
Travis – who is also set to host game show ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ – recently admitted he was “shocked” to have been cast by Ryan in ‘Grotesquerie’.
He said on his ‘New Heights’ podcast: “I was kinda blown away and kinda, like, shocked that he was willing to give me a role like this. Because it is a big role on the show.
“He seemed very confident that I’d be able to do this, and he kinda injected that in me the first conversation that we had. So hopefully I don’t bomb this for him.”
Travis has learned very quickly that there is more to acting than he first thought.
He explained: “The biggest difference from being outside of the acting world and starting to get into it is, you’re very much in tuned to the scenes and you don’t want to get so much caught up on the lines.
“You want to be in the scene with whoever you’re like acting with, right? So, I started off thinking, ‘Man, just memorise your lines. Memorise your lines.’
“But in the reality of things, you want to be able to take that scene from one point to the next and portray, you know, exactly what the scene’s meaning is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Soleil Moon Frye’s heart is “whispering a million I love yous” to her “tattooed angel” ex-boyfriend Shifty Shellshock.
The Crazy Town star – whose birth name was Seth Binzer – died on June 24, at the age of 49, after suffering an overdose and his former lover and childhood friend Soleil – who first met him when they were at school together – has expressed her sorrow in a heartfelt Instagram post in which she thanked him for loving her and her children.
She wrote: “My heart is whispering a million I love yous for the way you loved my children and I so unconditionally.
“I can still see your smiling sweet face in middle school when you kissed me in your tunnel of love and the way you swept me away again as we grew up to show me what that timeless kind of love feels like.
“No words could ever express the love we shared or how we are feeling right now. It is a language all its own.”
She added: “For now I will use every bit of strength you showed me to hold on to those words you asked me in your beautiful morning gravilly voice on the beach while covering me with kisses. ‘To the people we have lost we will see them again down the road, right?’
“I believe we will Seth … and when we do, the most charming bad ass tattooed angel in mismatched shoes, who taught me how to drink up life again will be standing there with the biggest smile. The former couple met in eighth grade but didn’t get together and become a couple until 2021 following the end of Soleil’s 22-year marriage to Jason – the father of her four children Poet, 18, Jagger, 16, Lyric, 10, and Story, eight.
Shifty was also dad to three children – Halo Gage and Phoenix.
HIs family remembered him in a statement following his passing. It read: “To Seth, the world was art, he loved every part of it, from music and fashion to graffiti, skateboarding and his hometown of Los Angeles.
“He loved his three boys more than anything, and his dedication to his music and fans never wavered.
“Seth struggled with addiction throughout his life, he did so on a very public platform which was particularly challenging. “God knows he tried so hard to beat his demons but sadly he lost his battle.
“Our hearts are shattered by his loss. Seth’s larger-than-life presence touched so many.
“Seth was a troubled soul but he was a beautiful one and he had a heart of gold. “He will live on through his 3 sons who were his proudest accomplishments. Halo Gage and Phoenix.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona is planning to go under the knife for an operation to fix her “saggy” chin.
The 43-year-old former Atomic Kitten star recently underwent reconstructive surgery on her nose to fix damage from years of drug abuse, and she’s already looking to the future and planning another operation to tighten up the lower part of her face.
In her column for OK! magazine, she wrote: “I’ve been under the knife a few times myself for the odd nip and tuck, and I think the next thing on my list will be my chin.
“I’m at an age where the skin is beginning to sag and I’d like to get it done to make myself feel better – but not for anyone else. It doesn’t matter what other people think, as long as you’re happy, and being safe, that’s all that matters.”
Kerry has previously undergone operations including a facelift, eyelid surgery and a boob job.
She made the revelation about her chin issues after confessing she had been in touch with her pal Katie Price before the former glamour girl had her 17th boob job – revealing she was happy for her pal.
Kerry wrote: “I spoke to Katie Price just before she had her latest boob job, and I think, ‘Just go for it’.
“It’s her 17th – and I think she’s going a bit smaller this time – but that’s just Kate. The most important thing is that she is happy and is doing it for herself.”
Katie previously confessed she went for the surgery because one of her breasts appeared bigger than the other.
The 46-year-old TV star recently headed to Brussels in Belgium to undergo the latest procedure on her chest and she insisted the operation was necessary to correct issues she was having so she decided to “go smaller”.
Speaking in a episode of her ‘The Katie Price Show’ podcast, which was recorded shortly before she went under the knife, Katie explained: ” ‘I’ve got to get the train to Brussels, because on Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Price … gets her boobs done. Smaller!
“Basically, the reason I’m doing it is ’cause one looks a bit bigger than the other one and it’s dropped. So, they do need doing. And my cleavage bit sticks up a bit, it should be down. OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Murphy has sparked speculation he has got married again after referring to Paige Butcher as his “wife”.
The ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ actor has been in a relationship with the 44-year-old beauty since 2012 and they got engaged in 2018, but in a new interview he appeared to suggest he and his partner – the mother of his children Izzy, eight, and five-year-old son Max – had quietly tied the knot.
Speaking on the New York Times’ ‘The Interview’ podcast, Eddie confessed to being “so out of touch” with what is considered hip now and wouldn’t be able to recognise younger talent.
The 63-year-old star added: “I used to be so hip, I used to know who everybody was, and now there’s just so much stuff. [I] ask my wife, ‘Who’s this person?’ I don’t even know what’s going on.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the ‘Nutty Professor’ star also spoke about his TV watching habits and again called Paige his wife.
He said: “I watch every night at six o’clock when I eat dinner, watch Steve Harvey and ‘Family Feud’ and on Tuesdays I watch ‘The Masked Singer’.
“My wife and I, we watch all those shows with singing competitions and that kind of stuff.”
As well as referring to Paige as his wife, last month Eddie was spotted wearing a large ring on the red carpet for the ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ premiere in California.
The ‘Candy Cane Lane’ actor was previously married to Nicole Mitchell, with whom he has Bria, 34, Myles , 31, Shayne , 29, Zola , 24, and 21-year-old Bella, from 1993 to 2008.
Eddie also has Eric, 34, with Paulette McNeely, Christian, 33, with Tamara Hood, and 17-year-old Angel with Spice Girls singer Mel B.
In 2008, he exchanged vows with Tracey Edmonds in a private ceremony but two weeks later, they announced they had decided against having a legally-binding wedding and wanted to remain friends instead.

Lady Kitty, 33, became a first-time mother earlier this year when she welcomed her little girl with her husband Michael Lewis, 65, and went public with the happy news in March to celebrate her first Mother’s Day – she’s now revealed they named the tot Athena.
In a post on Instagram, she shared a portrait of her little girl and wrote: “Athena watching the world go by.”

Lady Kitty wed fashion tycoon Michael Lewis, 62, in a lavish ceremony in Italy in 2021. They tied the knot at the exclusive Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati in front of guests including Viscountess Weymouth, DJ Marjorie Gubelmann, fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper.
Lewis, chairman of Foschini Group, and Lady Kitty were first reported to be dating in 2018, while he proposed in December 2019. The pair are believed to have met through a mutual friend. Kitty – whose parents are Diana’s brother Earl Spencer and model Victoria Lockwood – is believed to be close to Michael’s three grown-up children.
Prior to her wedding, Kitty previously explained she was looking forward to a “happy home life” but insisted she wants to keep her family out of the spotlight.

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Eugenie is “forever grateful” for the confidence her mother, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, instilled in her.
The 34-year-old royal was diagnosed with scoliosis – curvature of the spine – as a child and underwent surgery to correct the problem, and the princess is thankful her mum always encouraged her to show off the resulting scar and not be ashamed of it.
Alongside a throwback photo of herself as a toddler with the duchess, she wrote on Instagram: “My mum caught my scoliosis early and I was lucky enough to get the help I needed at 12 years old.
“I thank her so much for that and also thank her for the confidence to be proud of my scar.
“She removed all the stigma around having scoliosis for me by confidently showing people what I’d been through and it took all the fear and anxiety out of being different at such a young age. I am forever grateful and wish everyone to be proud of their scars.”
The duchess was “touched” by her daughter’s praise.
She commented: “I am so touched by this and in awe of you. I hope this inspires young people to own their scars and life’s journey as you have so beautifully done.”
Last week, Eugenie showed off her spinal scar in some pictures from her wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
She captioned the post: “Today is International Scoliosis Awareness Day. I just wanted to share my scar and encourage anyone out there who’s gone through something similar to share theirs with me.

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell looks at life “in a completely different way” now he’s a parent.
The 64-year-old music mogul had reached a point in his life when he thought he’d got too old to have children of his own, and he admitted the minute he found out fiancee Lauren Silverman was expecting their son Eric, now 10, something changed within him.
He told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “Twenty years ago, I would have said I didn’t think I was going to have kids because I thought I was too old.
“So when I got the news I was going to be a dad – and the first time I saw his scan – I was literally obsessed. Something changed and I looked at life in a completely different way.
“Every decision I make now I am thinking about Eric. Is it the right decision for him?”
And 46-year-old Lauren believes Simon has changed a lot since the first met, but he still “needs” her and Eric to help him find balance in his life.
She said: “He would stay up until crazy hours and sometimes wake up to two o’clock in the afternoon. But obviously I’m a mom and life doesn’t work that way.
“I always try to help him to find that balance, because he’s a workaholic. He loves his work, which is fantastic.
“But he sometimes needs me and Eric to push him to do more normal things and get up at a reasonable hour. And I guess in that sense, we’ve helped him – and he’s definitely got a lot better since we first met, that’s for sure.”
The ‘X Factor’ boss recently spoke about the dark times he experienced following the death of his father in 1999 and hs mother in 2015, and Lauren believes she and Eric have helped to fill the “void” within Simon.
Simon said: “When it got quite dark, everything kind of opened up for me. I hoped something good would happen because I remember when I was working flat out, even though everything was going fine, I was miserable because I think I was actually physically and mentally exhausted.”
Lauren added: “I think before he had Eric his life was great, and he had so much success. But there was definitely a void, something missing. And maybe he didn’t even know what that thing was.
“But once he became a dad and had someone like me to answer to, he realised that actually there’s so much more to life and what’s the point of having all this if you don’t have somebody you want to share it with?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson brought a TV set to Glastonbury Festival so he could watch the England football team take on Slovakia at Euro 2024 tournament.
The former One Direction star was among the famous faces who headed to Somerset over the weekend for the fabled music event at Worthy Farm, but he didn’t want to miss out on watching England’s knock-out clash on Sunday evening (30.06.24) after festival bosses confirmed they wouldn’t be showing the game – so he purchased a new TV and a generator and hauled it into the event so he could stream the game via wi-fi.
Louis told the Guardian: “It’s the second screen I’ve bought. The first got cracked. I wasn’t going to take credit for it [bringing the TV onsite] because it looked like we [England] were going to lose in normal time, but now that we’ve equalised I’m happy to.”
After equalising in extra time, England went on to win the game 2-1 and move forward to the next stage of the competition.
The outlet reports Louis’ impromptu screening of the game was almost called off by Glastonbury staff who worried it might cause a crush, but he was eventually allowed to continue with it after placing the TV at an angle which satisfied safety officers.
This year’s festival was headline by Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, who brought the 2024 event to a close with her set on Sunday night (30.06.24).
Other acts which performed over the weekend including The Vaccines, Janelle Monae, Idles, The Streets, Avril Lavigne and Shania Twain.
The event is set to return next year, but organiser Emily Eavis – whose farmer father Michael, 88, started the festival in 1970 – has confirmed Glastonbury will be cancelled in 2026 for a “fallow year” to give the ground a chance to recover.
Writing in the official Glastonbury newsletter, she explained: “We’re taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest.
“The festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan, because you almost have to fit two years into one. We’re already in talks with some acts for it. It’s exciting!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan plans to move back to Scotland eventually.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actress lives in California with husband Nick Kocher but will always consider Inverness her home, and will return there when her movie success is “over”.
She told the Times magazine: “I feel at home when I come back to the UK. I just really like seeing all the familiar faces on TV and feeling like I’m not out of the loop on the goings-on.
“This still feels like home even though so many people that I love are over there now [in the States]. But it’ll be over one day and then I’ll come back. All my best mates are still in Inverness, so I’ll get a little cottage up in the Highlands and just do that for the rest of my life.”
When she first relocated to the US, Karen missed her parents, so in 2017, she flew them out to join her and they now live nearby.
She said: “One of the hard things about living in the States was not being able to see them regularly, so we just thought, ‘Why does it need to be different now? We can just continue seeing each other on a Sunday.’
“It was the least I could do for them after all the monologues they had to sit through in the living room.”
The former ‘Doctor Who’ actress connected with comedian Nick by sending him a DM.
She recalled: “I was so single and not meeting anyone.
“I did not get on with the American dating scene. Then he was presented as a recommended friend. I looked him up on YouTube and he was funny, so eventually I just slid into his DMs. I’ve never done that before in my life.”
And while her opening message was “the most boring thing ever”, she felt the ‘Saturday Night Live’ writer had tried too hard with his response.
She said: “What I received back was a writer’s fully formed response. He’d got his writer friends to gather round and I could tell. Too well constructed. Trying too hard.”
But Nick persuaded Karen to meet up in real life and after dating throughout lockdown, they tied the knot in Scotland in 2022.
The ‘Jumanji’ actress loves the “cosy old pub” vibe of their cottage in Studio City but she’s struggling to find a home for her collection of replica dolls, which feature her in character as Amy Pond, Nebula and ruby Roundhouse.
She said: “I bought them all at one point from Amazon. Now, I don’t know what to do with them and it looks a bit narcissistic.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Killer Mike “prayed to God” after his Grammy Awards arrest – and was left “humbled” by what happened next.
The 49-year-old rap star was led away in handcuffs after winning three gongs at the pre-telecast prizegiving at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles in February, and while he was sitting in his cell after being booked on a misdemeanour charge, he connected with his faith.
And Mike’s fortunes quickly changed because shortly afterwards, he and wife Shana got the good news that their 21-year-old son Michael was to receive a transplant after years battling kidney disease.
He told E! News: “In the moment, I felt wrong—and I was. As I sat by myself for three hours, I just prayed and thanked God.
“And the next day, my son got a kidney and he was healed.
“I found that in that moment, like Daniel in the lion’s den, it was meant for me to simply be humbled and honoured the Lord and I appreciate the opportunity to do so.”
Mike – who also has Malik, 29, Aniyah, 26, and Mikey, 17, with Shana – was told last week that he wouldn’t be charged over the altercation that led to his arrest after he “agreed to do some community service with a non-profit organisation of his choice.”
Ivor Pine, a spokesperson for the LA City Attorney’s Office, confirmed: “Mr. Render has successfully completed the Office’s Hearing process, including a community service requirement that was imposed. We have no further comment at this time.”
The ‘Big Beast’ hitmaker previously blamed his arrest on “overcrowding” backstage and “over-zealous” security guards.
During an appearance on ‘The View’ shortly afterwards, he explained: “I think backstage was overcrowded, I think the winners were exuberant, and I think security got a little over-zealous.”
However, he refused to feel bad about what happened, and added: “It’s water under the bridge for me.”
The hip-hop star previously insisted he wasn’t angry about the position he found himself in on music’s biggest night, telling GQ magazine: “I could have succumbed to anger or evil and talked [badly]. But I’m just grateful. I talked about this album being a return to the religious and moral principles I was raised with.
“And I just got to say, man, you’ll find yourself in a position where it’s just you and God. And I took a couple hours, man. I was just by myself, and I was just thankful I took time to thank God and to say, I appreciate the blessings you’ve given me.
“I spent time talking. I’m invoking the spirit of my grandmother and my mother and just saying, Look, I’ve done it. And after a few hours, man, I got out and I went partied and had fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift is opening up her personal archive for an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The 34-year-old pop superstar has agreed to lend a collection of items commemorating her music career to the museum to be put on display as part of the Taylor Swift: Songbook Trail which will feature stops showcasing a chapter from her musical evolution.
Kate Bailey, the museum’s senior curator, theatre and performance, said: “We are delighted to be able to display a range of iconic looks worn by Taylor Swift at the V A this summer – each celebrating a chapter in the artist’s musical journey.
“Taylor Swift’s songs – like objects – tell stories, often drawing from art, history and literature. We hope this theatrical trail across the museum will inspire curious visitors to discover more about the performer, her creativity and V A objects.”
Items going on display include the black dress worn by Taylor in the video for her song ‘Fortnight’ and a pair of custom-made cowboy boots she performed in during a tour with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in 2007.
Many of the items are being put on public display for the first time.
The free exhibition opens at the museum in South Kensington on July 27 and runs until 8 September 2024.
Taylor is currently touring the world with her ‘The Eras’ shows which recently came to the UK with stops in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London, while she will return to the UK capital for five more dates at Wembley Stadium in August.
The tour landed in Ireland over the weekend (29-30.06.24) and Taylor suffered a technical malfunction which left the singer stranded on a raised platform during her show at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday night (29.06.24).
Video footage posted online showed Taylor being left stuck after the platform she was standing on failed to retract back into the stage while she was performing her track ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’.
One of her dancers – Jan Ravnik – had been standing on another platform which did go down successfully so he made his way across the stage and helped Taylor down. The singer managed to continue with her choreography and finish the song as planned.

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello is “completely single” at the moment because she barely has time to “shave her legs” let alone look for love.
The 27-year-old pop star previously dated relationship coach Matthew Hussey, singer Shawn Mendes and businessman Austin Kevitch and was recently linked to her collaborator Drake after they were spotted on vacation together, but Cabello is adamant she just doesn’t have time for romance right now.
She told The Times newspaper: “[I am] completely single at the moment. I barely have time to f****** shave my legs.
“I’ve been working so hard I have not had time, but the pendulum is going to have to swing the other way at some point.”
Camila was previously grilled about the Drake rumours during an appearance on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast and called their holiday a “homie, friends trip”, adding: “I wouldn’t say straight-up vacation; it was vacation plus some work … I will say, you know what, I love that man. I love him … He’s so generous and so kind.”
Two collaborations with Drake – ‘Hot Uptown’ and ‘Uuugly’ – made it onto her new album ‘C,XOXO’.
She recently revealed the songs came about after she sent Drake a message asking him for some feedback on her new music.
She told Complex magazine: “Once I had a group of songs that I felt confident enough to share with an artist that I really respect and love, I DM’ed Drake and I asked him if he would want to listen and give me feedback, which is something that I haven’t really done before this album.”
Camila went on to add it feels good to have made a new friend in the “isolating” music industry. She explained: “It’s been really fulfilling to just get to make new friendships in my industry … Just from intentionally putting energy into having more friendships.
“I think it can be a really isolating industry, especially in pop where it can feel so competitive.”
