Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial dramatically paused

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial has been dramatically paused.
The ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ actor, 66, was facing his third day of proceedings in front of a jury in New Mexico on Friday (12.07.24), standing accused of involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of neo-Western movie ‘Rust’ in New Mexico in 2021.
But the case has been halted following a motion by his legal team to dismiss the case over a claim that ammunition evidence was hidden.
The actor’s lawyers said the Santa Fe sheriff’s office took possession of live rounds as evidence in the case but failed to list them in the ‘Rust’ investigation file or disclose their existence to defence lawyers.
Alec’s lawyer Alex Spiro made the claim to a sheriff’s office crime scene technician under cross-examination during a hearing on the motion to dismiss the case while jurors were not in the courtroom.
He said: “This was hidden from us.”
Prosecutors insist the ammunition was not connected to the case and was not hidden.
But judge Mary Marlowe Sommer later called the jury in only to send them home for the day, so she can hear further evidence on the motion – and has told them to return on Monday. (15.07.24)
The evidence consists of live rounds of ammunition turned over to New Mexico police in March that the defence argues call into question the source of the bullet that fatally struck cinematographer Halyna.
Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria, 40, seemed overcome with emotion after the development.
The actor sat beside his wife in the chairs behind his legal team, while Hilaria – with tears in her eyes – hugged her husband for several minutes as she stroked his arm and back.
They also whispered to each other intimately before Hilaria left the room again.
They later embraced before Alec turned back to his defence team – and he turned and blew her a kiss.
Alec’s attorney Luke Nikas also told the judge: “We’re talking about a prosecution that didn’t preserve those bullets, that didn’t collect them at all. That didn’t turn them over.
“This is critical evidence in the case that was never disclosed to us… we were entitled to it.
“This case should be dismissed, Your Honor.”
Alec has insisted he did not pull the trigger or know how the gun contained live ammunition and has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
He faces up to 18 months if convicted.

Tori Spelling opens up about being left with skin graft from thigh on her arm

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Spelling has opened up about being left with a skin graft from her thigh on her arm after her horror restaurant grill fall.
The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actress, 51, took a tumble in 2015 and landed on a hot hibachi grill at the restaurant chain Benihana – leaving her so badly burned she had to get part of her leg grafted onto her arm to replace dying skin.
She told her former ‘Beverly Hills’ castmate Jennie Garth, 52, on their ‘9021OMG’ podcast: “I did get a radically bad burn falling on a hot hibachi grill at Benihana on Easter in front of my entire family.
“I have a skin graft that they had to take from my leg.
“Not many people can say, ‘Hey, I’m wearing my thigh on my arm’, and I’m not even kidding.
“So I’m wearing a thin layer of my thigh on my arm because the skin burnt so bad.”
Tori added she was trying to get a picture of one of her children wearing a chef’s hat when she “took one step back, flew up on the oil and the rest is history”.
She added when she fell her arm was “sticking to the grill” and her family told her they could smell burning.
Tori went on: “You know when you fall in front of people and you’re, like, embarrassed, and you’re, like, ‘I’m fine’.
“And you’re really, like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if I’m okay’.
“It was one of those moments.”
She added other diners thought she’d been drinking, saying: “Like, ‘Well, it’s the celebrity.”
Tori also said even though she was in agony she went on with the meal as it was Easter and she is a “bad-a** b****”.
The next day, she drove herself to the emergency room where she said she was told by medics her skin was dying and she needed to attend a burn clinic.
Tori later sued the Benihana chain for what her lawsuit called “deep second and third-degree burn injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery” – before settling out of court.

Alec Baldwin weeps as ‘Rust’ trial sensationally dropped

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin’s ‘Rust’ trial has been dropped – with the actor bursting into tears at the shock news.
The ‘Married to the Mob’ actor, 66, wept on Friday (12.07.24) at the decision to throw out the involuntary manslaughter charge against him, which came hours after the judge overseeing it dramatically halted proceedings after she heard an argument from his legal team the prosecutors had buried evidence.
Alec was facing his third day of proceedings in front of a jury in New Mexico on Friday when the surprise development came.
He stood accused of involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of neo-Western movie ‘Rust’ in New Mexico in 2021, and was facing 18 months in jail if convicted.
Before the jury was brought in to the courtroom on Friday Alec’s attorney Luke Nikas had asked for the case against his client to be dropped, claiming that prosecutors sat on evidence that would have helped show how live ammunition was brought on to the set of neo-Western movie ‘Rust’.
Alec’s wife Hilaria, 40, had tears in her eyes when the attorneys asked the judge to drop the case.
The actor was rehearsing a scene on the set of ‘Rust’ when the gun he was holding discharged, killing Halyna Hutchins and injuring its 51-year-old director Joel Souza.
Alec had insisted in interviews he did not pull the trigger of the gun or know why it contained live ammunition.
His lawyers claimed a man named Troy Teske – a friend of Thell Reed, the father of convicted ‘Rust’ armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 27, who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for loading a live round into Alec’s gun – turned over ammunition to authorities he thought was connected to the case.
But Mr Nikas said: “We’re talking about a prosecution that didn’t preserve those bullets, that didn’t collect them at all. That didn’t turn them over.
“This is critical evidence in the case that was never disclosed to us… we were entitled to it.
“This case should be dismissed, Your Honor.”
After a recess, judge Mary Marlowe Sommer heard testimony from witnesses including Seth Kenney – the ‘Rust’ props firearms supplier – as well as Corporal Alexandria Hancock from the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office.
During one tense exchange, Alec’s attorney Alex Spiro asked Cpl Hancock if she was “hiding” any more evidence – but she replied: “I don’t think I’ve hidden anything.”
She admitted ammunition Mr Teske had handed over was filed separately from the other ‘Rust’ evidence – and said prosecutor Kari T Morrissey had been involved in talks to file them separately.
Earlier on Friday during the recess in the case, Alec and Hilaria hugged and smiled in apparent relief.

Billie Eilish reveals people smelling good is her ‘No1’ turn-on

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish ranks people smelling good “No1” in her list of turn-ons.
The 22-year-old ‘Bad Guy’ singer – whose break-up with her most recent boyfriend, The Neighbourhood frontman Jesse Rutherford, 32, was confirmed by her representative in May 2023 – opened up about her hygiene preference on the latest episode of 30-year-old comic Amelia Dimoldenberg’s YouTube interview series ‘Chicken Shop Date’.
Grammy winner Billie said: “(Smell is) kind of No1. I can get around it, but I’m definitely like – that’s the first thing I notice.
“And I have a very strong nose, so if somebody smells good, I like them more.”
Billie went on about what else gets her going when it comes to potential partners: “What turns me on? Passion, dude. It’s all about passion.”
She also said about how she gets when she is attracted to someone: “I get absolutely insane. When I was growing up, no one I had a crush on ever had a crush on me back, that I know of. It’s demoralising, it’s sad.
“All I do is crush on people – all I do. When I don’t have a crush, life feels so empty.”
Billie recently tackled her “uncomfortable” relationship with being in love during a chat with Lana Del Rey, 39, for Interview magazine.
She said: “I literally hate who I am so much when I’m in love. I really don’t like being… I was going to say out of control, but there’s ways that I do like being out of control.
“I have a power issue and a control issue, and I also don’t like being vulnerable in a romantic way.”
The singer told Rolling Stone in April: “I plan on never dating again” – before adding: “That’s not true, obviously. But no, I don’t see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now.”

Harry Styles stuns fans with surprise guest appearance at emotional Steve Nicks gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles stunned fans when he emerged as a surprise guest during Steve Nicks’ emotional headline set at London’s BST Hyde Park.
The ‘Water Melon’ singer, 30, joined the Fleetwood Mac veteran, 76, on stage during the city’s traditional summer festival on Friday (12.07.24) as she paid an emotional tribute to her late bandmate Christine McVie on what would have been her 81st birthday – as well as her late friend Tom Petty.
Harry performed with Stevie as she sang her classic ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’ and Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’ before she paid tribute to her Christine, who passed away in December 2022 after suffering a stroke as she battled cancer.
As former One Direction member Harry looked on, an emotional Stevie told the crowd: “I want you to know that Christine was my girl and she loved all of us and today was her birthday.
“All of you have helped me get over (her death) and I want you to know how much I appreciate it.”
She added: “Harry, I thank you, we thank you!”
Stevie also paid an emotional tribute to Tom Petty, after she shared the Hude Park stage with the Heartbreakers singer in 2017, months before his death aged 66 after he suffered a heart attack.
Images of Tom and Stevie were projected on the stage as Stevie and her band sang his song ‘Free Fallin’’, with the singer telling fans: “This is a special day for a lot of reasons, to be back here because I feel his presence.
“I know he’s at this event and he’s happy with me here.”
Stevie recently dismissed any possibility of Fleetwood Mac reuniting without Christine, saying: “When Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her. You just can’t.
“Without her, what is it, you know what I mean?”
Stevie took to the stage on Friday after delaying part of her UK tour due to a leg injury.

Matthew Perry’s ketamine suppliers ‘close to being snared by police’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry’s ketamine suppliers are reportedly close to being snared by police probing the ‘Friends’ actor’s death.
The troubled star, who spent years battling drink and drug addictions, was found dead aged 54 in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023, with an autopsy revealing he had been killed by “acute effects of ketamine” – and last week cop sources said several people should be charged in connection with the actor’s passing.
TMZ is now reporting federal authorities probing Matthew’s death are “confident” they have “the goods to take down the people who helped him obtain the ketamine that contributed to his death”.
It added: “Drug Enforcement Administration agents launched their Perry death investigation after the LA County Medical Examiner determined the ‘Friends’ star died from drowning in his hot tub after taking ketamine, a dissociative anaesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects.
“Our sources tell us the feds are aiming to charge the suspects with drug distribution resulting in death or great bodily injury, which carries a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison.”
The outlet added DEA agents are “not just probing dealers” and “could also go after doctors if they wrote prescriptions ‘deemed outside the scope of medical necessity’.”
And it said: “The investigation has dug deep into the Hollywood drug scene.”
It was reported on 7 July Matthew’s drugs death is soon set to be addressed in a police press conference where charges including involuntary manslaughter may be announced.
Page Six has also reported the actor’s death “is poised to expose a seedy underbelly of Hollywood drug dealing”.
The outlet said the Los Angeles Police Department – which is overseeing the criminal investigation into Matthew’s death alongside the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Postal Inspection Service – is “preparing for a press conference to announce possible charges, which could even include involuntary manslaughter”.
Page Six added it has “learned the identity of an actress who has become embroiled in the investigation”.
They said the as yet unnamed woman is a “B-list star” who was “very close to Perry for many years”.
Former CIA and FBI special agent Tracy Walder told Page Six multiple people could be charged, saying there has been a huge explosion in drug rings using mail fraud, sending prescription medication by post – a federal offence.

Rebel Wilson sued for defamation

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebel Wilson is being sued for defamation.
The 44-year-old actress was hit with the lawsuit after accusing the producers of her upcoming movie ‘The Deb’ of stopping it from premiering at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Earlier this week, Rebel made an Instagram video in which she hit out at producers Amanda Ghost and Gregor Cameron, and executive producer Vince Holden, accusing them of “bad behaviour” on set.
She also accused them of embezzling funds from the film and called them “vile and disgusting”, claiming she had encountered “absolute viciousness and retaliatory behaviour” after reporting their actions.
However, the trio have denied all accusations and have hit back in a new lawsuit, filed at the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE: “She flatly refused to collaborate with Plaintiffs, absconded from the Film for months at a time, behaved unprofessionally with employees of the Film, and repeatedly made unauthorized and improper disclosures about the Film.
“Rebel’s goal in these several disputes was to get credit for work she did not do, and to overshadow young, upcoming artists who truly deserved the credit.
“[We] had to consider carefully whether to proceed with marketing the Film while it was embroiled in numerous credit and licensing disputes instigated by Rebel. [We]continuously attempted to resolve the disputes in good faith but Rebel had other ideas.
“Even though the plan was always to show the Film at TIFF, Rebel attempted to force the issue and bully them into capitulating to her other unreasonable demands by leveraging her popularity on social media to spread these malicious and baseless lies about [the producers] to her 11 million Instagram followers. This was a vindictive attempt to destroy [the producers’] reputations with what she knew were demonstrably false statements.”
Wilson responded to the lawsuit on Instagram by posting: “It’s not defamation if it’s the TRUTH (those ‘producers’ who I mentioned in my last post have just filed a defamation suit against me and sent to the press)! Let our cool movie play at Toronto and stop messing about with a rubbish defamation suit against me!”

He explained: “Even today, I say to my girls, you have to brush your teeth, look in the mirror, and decide it’s going to be a positive day – decide to be glass half-full.

Paris Hilton’s new song is about toxic relationships

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton felt an instant connection with her new song ‘Chasin” because it’s about walking away from “toxic relationships”.
The 43-year-old socialite has teamed up with her pop star pal Meghan Trainor who wrote the track for Paris’ upcoming album ‘Infinite Icon’ – which is being co-produced by Sia – and the hotel heiress admits the song feels perfect for her.
She told Rolling Stone: “[Meghan] put into words an experience that was so true for me; that time in your life when you find the confidence, power, and self-love, to walk away from toxic relationships and move forward with your life.”
Meghan went on to reveal she’s been working on the track for years until Paris managed to bring it to life. She added: “I started working on this song years ago and knew I had to save it for someone very special. Paris brought it to a whole new level …
“She is the sister I always needed and when she calls me ‘sis’, I die of happiness inside. We made something truly iconic together and it was a bucket list dream come true for me.”

Alex James compares Blur to marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex James “doesn’t hear from” his Blur bandmates when they’re not working together.
The 55-year-old bassist – who runs a successful farm with wife Claire – has compared his relationship with Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree to a marriage because in order for them to be successful together, it’s important to have their own individual interests outside of the group.
He told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “It’s like a marriage, and all marriages need some kind of success outside of the relationship in order to thrive.
“I literally don’t hear from them because we’re all so consumed by our own lives, and that’s absolutely fine.”
Last year saw Blur reunite for their first shows in eight years and a ninth studio album, ‘The Ballad of Darren’, but despite the passing of time, Alex insisted nothing felt different.
Hailing the gigs “the best we’ve ever done”, he said: “From the first rehearsals we clicked, musically, straight away.
“It’s such a precious thing, a group of people playing music together since they were kids.”
And the ‘Beetlebum’ hitmaker admitted the sporadic nature of Blur’s performances means it never feels “a drudge”.
He said: “Since Claire and I got married, Blur have probably done three or four dozen shows together, so it’s never become a point when it’s a drudge. It’s a wonderful feeling, like riding a bike downhill.”
While Blur’s reunion gigs gave Alex – who has Geronimo, 20, 18-year-old twins Artemas and Galileo, 15-year-old Sable and 14-year-old Beatrix with Claire – the chance to feel like a “cool dad”, his older sons weren’t impressed by the band’s performance at the legendary Coachella festival in California.
He explained: “It’s the biggest festival on the planet and a wonderful event.
“Beatrix was having the time of her life. But the boys, who are older, were a bit indignant.
“Teenagers approach a festival in the UK like a three-day bender – they get stuck into the booze and go bats***.
“Whereas Coachella isn’t that over-the-top, in the trenches, and they don’t really do camping in America.”

“It’s perspective I guess !!! This was me almost a year ago in September!!! I look way younger and way smaller!!!
“I guess I need to brace myself and slow down and recap the past year because I think I had a false confidence after my divorce!!!
“Although I did post some of my best work … There was a lot of WTF moments!!!”
