Catherine, Princess of Wales, to make Wimbledon appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales, will make an appearance at Wimbledon on Sunday (14.07.24).
The 42-year-old royal – who announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy – will make a rare public appearance at the final of the men’s singles tournament this weekend, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
Catherine is expected to present the trophies in her role as patron of the All England Club.
This will only be her second official public event in seven months, after she attended Trooping the Colour on June 15.
Catherine – who has three children with her husband Prince William – has been recuperating privately after undergoing abdominal surgery in January and then discovering she had cancer.
She said in a video address in March: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.
“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.
We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”

Boris Becker makes Wimbledon commentating comeback in Italy

OHMYGOSSIP — Boris Becker has made a Wimbledon commentating comeback in Italy.
The three-time winner of the tournament, 56, was imprisoned in the UK in 2022 and deported to his native Germany under early release terms after hiding £2.5 million in assets following his bankruptcy ruling.
He could be kept away from the UK – where he spent years as one of the BBC’s regular Wimbledon commentating team – for up to a decade, but it’s now been reported he hopes to return far sooner.
The Times revealed he has been offering his opinion on this year’s Wimbledon for Sky Italia.
It quoted him saying about how he misses Wimbledon and his work as a BBC pundit: “I’m working hard with the authorities to have all the applications ready to be back (in Britain) for next year.”
Next year marks the 40th anniversary of his first Wimbledon win, which amazingly came when he was 17.
Boris kicked off his BBC career in 2002 three years after he retired from professional tennis.
The fallen tennis ace tearfully told in his recent Apple+ documentary, ‘Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker’ how there is going to be “another chapter” in his life.
Boris – nicknamed ‘Boom Boom’ in tribute to his staggering serve – said: “That’s not the end yet – there’s going to be another chapter.”
He has been reportedly lining up book deals and TV deals as he works on his comeback and reforming his brand.
Boris, famed for his past womanising, is now dating risk analyst Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, 33, and said in an interview after he was released from jail with German broadcaster Sat.1 he faced death threats while behind bars and feared showering with other prisoners.
Boris added in the chat an inmate called John in HMP Wandsworth told him before he was moved to the lower security HMP Huntercombe that “if I didn’t do this or that he would kill me”.
He also said he was sent “crazy” by his time in prison.

David Arquette on ‘mission’ to make world give clowns ‘second chance’

OHMYGOSSIP — David Arquette is on a “mission” to make the world give clowns a “second chance”.
The ‘Scream’ actor, 52, bought the rights to Bozo the Clown in 2022 and thinks clowns have been demonised for years thanks to horror movies such as ‘It’ and the appearance of Twisty the Clown in ‘American Horror Story’.
He told Page Six about his determination to rebrand the circus entertainers from creepy monsters to joyful comedians: “There’s more good clowns out there than there are scary clowns, despite what kind of films are being made.
“I love clowns in general. And if you find clowns creepy, you should give them a second shot.
“We’re on a mission to sort of bring joy back to the world and sort of shine a light on happy clowns and Bozo is one of the happiest.”
David’s Instagram is filled with images and videos of him in clown costumes and showing off circus memorabilia.
He has brought Bozo into the 21st century by introducing Joz Bozo, the first female Bozo the Clown.
David added about his rebrand of the famous character: “It’s a lot of work (and we’re) still figuring it out.
“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the portrayal of Bozo but we’ve gotten to a really good place.”
David also said he has met “the foremost Bozo collector and historian” for a documentary they’re making together.
The father-of-three has daughter Coco, who turned 20 on Saturday (13.07.24), with his ‘Friends’ actress ex Courteney Cox, 60, as well as sons Charlie and Augustus with his second wife Christina McLarty, who he married in 2015.
He will be appearing as Bozo in Nashville on 21 July for a city-wide baby shower for families affected by gun violence.

Alec Baldwin celebrated dismissal of ‘Rust’ trial with family dinner in New Mexico

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin celebrated the dismissal of his ‘Rust’ trial with a family dinner in New Mexico.
The 66-year-old actor burst into tears on Friday (12.07.24) when judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ruled his involuntary manslaughter case should be thrown out of court after she heard claims from his legal team prosecutors had allegedly buried evidence linked to the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the set of neo-Western ‘Rust’ in 2021.
Alec was seen in good spirits after his tearful breakdown at Santa Fe County District Court, and photos obtained by TMZ later showed him dressed in black trousers, a dark shirt and navy blue blazer for his dinner outing.
With him at the bar in the El Dorado Hotel in Santa Fe was his wife Hilaria Baldwin, 40, as well as his lawyers, Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas.
There were filming crews for his upcoming reality show ‘The Baldwins’ at the celebration.
Father-of-eight Alec was also snapped heading into the local Mexican spot Casa Chimayo with his entourage, including brother Stephen Baldwin, 58, in tow after his actor sibling had spent time supporting him at court.
Judge Sommer said when she kicked Alec’s case out of court: “The late discovery of this evidence during trial has impeded the effective use of evidence in such a way that it has impacted the fundamental fairness of the proceedings.
“If this conduct does not rise to the level of bad faith it certainly comes so near to bad faith to show signs of scorching.”
Alec was facing 18 months in prison if convicted and after weeping, he gave Hilaria – with whom he has seven of his eight kids – a long embrace and kiss.
He also hugged his legal team.
Alec and other producers still face civil lawsuits from Halyna’s parents and sister.
An attorney for the cinematographer’s widower Matthew Hutchins said the family respected the court’s decision but still hoped to hold Alec responsible for the on-set tragedy.
‘Rust’ armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 27, is still appealing her involuntary manslaughter conviction after she was sentenced to 18 months in prison after Halyna’s death.
Alec was rehearsing a scene on the set of ‘Rust’ when the gun he was holding discharged, killing Halyna and injuring the film’s 51-year-old director Joel Souza.
Alec had insisted in interviews he did not pull the trigger of the gun or know why it contained live ammunition.

The Super Bowl-winning NFL star, 34, who has been dating singer Taylor Swift, also 34, since last summer, shanked a series of shots into the crowd at Lake Tahoe – one of which left a woman in her 20s needing medical attention.
He also hit a man on the arm with another ball – and ended up kissing both their arms to apologise.
Video of the incident involving the woman showed police officers comforting the injured sports fan,
and People reported an eyewitness said the sports fan was left with streaks of blood in her blonde hair after the blow.
Travis then walked into the crowd to check on her and kissed her on the arm.
The incident happened on the 16th hole when Travis’ ball strayed as he played alongside Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, 28, actor Don Cheadle, 59, and 43-year-old WWE hero The Miz.

Another said on X: “Goal for next year… position myself so that I can be hit by Travis’ golf ball,” while one more joked: “How good can Travis possibly be at golf if he’s hitting fans in the first place?”
On the first hole of the celebrity tournament, a Travis shot struck a man on the arm.
A video posted on X showed him marching down the course with a sheriff before locating the fan who got hit – then shaking his hand and leaning in to kiss his arm as fans at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort laughed and cheered.
Travis later joked taking a picture with the woman he struck was the least he could do.
His brother Jason Kelce, 36, was also playing in the tournament and checked on the spectator, who reportedly said she was unsure which of the Kelces hit the bad shot.
She was able to stand on her own after several minutes of sitting on the ground and staff transported her off the course before play resumed.

Joe Biden brands Donald Trump shooting ‘sick’

OHMYGOSSIP — President Joe Biden has insisted there is “no place in America” for the “violence” that occurred at a campaign rally on Saturday (13.07.24) after Donald Trump was shot.
The 81-year-old US leader has condemned the shocking incident which saw his political rival struck in the ear while on stage in Pennsylvania, while one other person was killed and two injured after an as-yet unnamed gunman – who was killed by Secret Service agents – opened fire, branding what happened “sick”.
In his first TV remarks since the shooting, Joe said from his home in Delaware: “It’s sick. That’s one of the reasons we have to unite this country. We cannot allow this to be happening. We cannot be like this, we cannot condone this.
“The bottom line is, the Trump rally is a rally that he should have been able to conduct peacefully without any problem. But the idea that there’s political violence, or violence in America like this, is just unheard of. It’s just not appropriate.
Everybody must condemn it. Everybody.”
Asked if he thought it was an assassination attempt against Trump, he added: “I don’t know enough, I have an opinion but I don’t have any facts, so I want to make sure we have all the facts before I make a comment.”
The president expressed his intention to speak with the former ‘Apprentice’ star.
He said: “I tried to get a hold of Donald. He’s with his doctors, apparently he’s doing well. I plan on talking to him shortly.”
It is believes that since speaking out, the pair have spoken and the president has returned to the White House after cutting short his trip.
Earlier in the evening, Joe issued a brief statement after he was briefed on the shooting.
He said: “I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well.
“I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.
“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”
The FBI are leading the investigation into what happened and are said to be treating it as an assassination attempt.
A spokesperson said: “The FBI has assumed the role of the lead federal law enforcement agency in the investigation of the incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred earlier today in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“Special agents of the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office responded immediately, to include crisis response team members and evidence response technicians.
“We will continue to support this investigation with the full resources of the FBI, alongside our partners at the U.S. Secret Service and state and local law enforcement. Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is asked to call our tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.”

‘I felt the bullet ripping through the skin’: Donald Trump speaks out after shooting at campaign rally

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Trump “felt the bullet ripping through the skin” when he was shot at a campaign rally on Saturday (13.07.24).
The 78-year-old Republican – who is campaigning to return to office in this year’s presidential elections – was rushed off stage in Pennsylvania with blood on his face and ear, and he’s admitted he didn’t realise immediately what had happened.
He said in a statement shared to his Truth Social account: “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.
“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening.”
The former ‘Apprentice’ star confirmed the shooter had been killed and also offered his condolences to the family of a person who lost their life during the shocking incident as he thanked the United States Secret Service, and law enforcement officials.
He wrote: “I want to thank the United States Secret Service, and all of law enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured.
“It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country.
“Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead.”
The Secret Service said in a statement that the suspected shooter “fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue,” and that the person had been “neutralised” by Secret Service agents.
They added: “One spectator was killed, two spectators were critically injured.”
According to ABC News, the FBI are investigating the incident as an assassination attempt after as many as eight live rounds were apparently fired from outside the security perimeter.
Officials said at a press conference they believe they know who carried out the shooting but are not naming the individual and are currently doing DNA testing because the suspect didn’t have ID.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Kevin Rojek said: “It’s a matter of doing biometric confirmations.
“So, there was no identification on the individual, for example, so we’re looking at photographs right now and we’re trying to run his DNA and get biometric confirmation.”

When asked if she would ever reunite with the Pussycat Dolls in the future, she added: ” I love the Pussycat Dolls. So, I always say never say never.
“I’m obviously in a different place in my life right now, but you never know what the future holds.”
Nicole has been busy working on her Broadway musical ‘Sunset Boulevard’ – which is transferring to London’s West End in September – and she recently admitted she’s hoping to make time in her busy schedule to start a family with her fiance Thom Evans.
She told The Times newspaper: “Oh my gosh, I would love to [have a baby]. I’ve never shied away from that. I can’t wait. It’s like the clock is ticking. “I want to have a baby but work calls. But I’m going to have to make time because, yes, I cannot wait to have children.”
Nicole has been dating former rugby player Thom since 2020 and they got engaged last year, but the singer has confessed she’s yet to start planning the wedding. When asked about a wedding date, Nicole suggested it will be in the next couple of years once her stage commitments are done.
