Gia Coppola hails Pamela Anderson as the ‘Marilyn Monroe of our time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson is the “Marilyn [Monroe] of our time”, according to Gia Coppola.
The 57-year-old actress stars in ‘The Last Showgirl’ and Gia – who helmed the drama film – has heaped praise on the Hollywood star, likening Pamela to the iconic actress.
Gia, 37, told Entertainment Weekly: “She is the Marilyn of our time.
“I find her to be a very interesting human being. She’s very intelligent and has an art background, and I could see she was a woman that was really craving to express herself as an actress creatively.”
Pamela stars in the movie alongside the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka and Billie Lourd, and she didn’t have any hesitations about joining the project.
The former ‘Baywatch’ star explained: “I’ve never read a script that I responded to like that before – no one was sending me anything like this.
“I read it and I thought, I have to do this. It’s life or death. It’s really important.”
Earlier this year, Pamela explained that she “had to” star in ‘The Last Showgirl’.
The actress plays a Las Vegas showgirl in the film, and she relished the opportunity to star in the movie.
The Hollywood star told Collider: “I think timing is everything. I thought I was never gonna get the chance to do anything like this.
“I kind of thought, ‘Oh, well, that’s what people think of me. I’m just gonna go back to my farm, make jam, and that’s it. I’ll figure out another way to make my life beautiful.’
“But the documentary came out, the book came out, and Gia saw the documentary. She must be some kind of master or prophet or something, but she was so wonderful to send the script to me, and I read it and I was like, ‘Oh god, this is that thing.'”

Tia Mowry struggles to juggle dating and motherhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Tia Mowry finds it tough to juggle dating and the responsibilities of motherhood.
The 46-year-old actress has opened up about her concerns during a heart-to-heart conversation with Jackee Harry, the actress who played her on-screen mom in ‘Sister, Sister’.
Tia – who was married to Cory Hardrict between 2008 and 2023 – said on ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’: “Working, being a mother and just putting a lot of effort into dating right now is a lot to juggle and balance, and I can’t help but wonder if I am repeating the same mistake now.”
Jackee, 68, admitted to being aware of Tia’s relationship troubles before she split from Cory.
She said: “I did know from the other side, if I might say, somebody else was dissatisfied that they weren’t working. One partner makes more money or has more successful is a gap that is so hard and they can’t work. You can’t have competition. It just does not work.”
In 2022, Tia took to social media to announce her split from Cory.
At the time, the actress – who has Cree, 13, and Cairo, six, with her ex-husband – promised that they would “maintain a friendship”.
Alongside a black-and-white photograph of them together, she wrote: “I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”

Ariana Grande’s Wicked role ‘transformed’ her style

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s “relationship to make-up” has been transformed by her ‘Wicked’ role.
The 31-year-old singer plays Galinda Upland, a popular young woman who becomes Glinda the Good Witch of the North, in the new musical fantasy film, and Ariana has now revealed that the project has had a big impact on her personal style.
The award-winning star said in an Instagram video: “This make-up made me transform my entire look and my entire relationship to make-up. I just love it so much. Love, love, love.”
Ariana subsequently explained how her style has evolved over recent times.
She said: “There’s no thick eyeliner, there’s no heavy crease, it’s just really warm and open and pretty. The lashes are in a cat [eye] shape, which still gives you the cat eye lift that I usually love, but it’s a more honest representation of what you look like.”
Meanwhile, Ariana previously admitted that she finds it “lovely to be loved”.
The pop star appreciates having the support of her fans, but Ariana is also aware that they always “want more of [her]”.
The singer – who has a huge following on social media – said on ‘Hot Ones’: “It’s so lovely to be loved. But yeah, I sit somewhere in between being grateful to be here at all and being like, ‘But really? Come on.'”
Ariana initially struggled to cope with the expectations of her fans.
The pop star – who is one of the best-selling artists in the world – explained: “That’s like a natural thing that all artists can probably relate to.
“But seeing [fans’] reaction to it also kind of replaces that … There was a time when it was hard for me to feel that same gratitude that I do now for certain songs and for the music because I think some of it was a stressful time.”

Yellowstone cast rose to the challenge, says Luke Grimes

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Grimes believes the ‘Yellowstone’ cast rose to the “challenge” of replacing Kevin Costner.
The 69-year-old actor exited the hit TV show midway through season five – but Luke has now suggested that the cast rallied together to overcome the setback.
Luke, 40 – who plays Kayce Dutton in the drama series – told E! News: “It feels like every year there’s been some crazy new challenges, not unlike this year. There was a big, new challenge, but, you know, challenge accepted.”
Luke added that season five of the show “was absolutely incredible and couldn’t have been better any other way”.
Kelly Reilly also loved shooting season five of the show, and the actress suggested she could return to the franchise at some point in the future.
She said: “All good things have to end. It doesn’t mean to say there isn’t going to be new stories to tell. No decisions have been made on that. It has to be right.”
Kevin announced his exit from ‘Yellowstone’ earlier this year.
The veteran actor took to social media to announce that he was instead focusing his attention on ‘Horizon: An American Saga’, his series of Western films.
Kevin said on Instagram: “I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on ‘Horizon’ and doing all the things that that’s required.
“Thinking about ‘Yellowstone’, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love. I just realised that I’m not going to be able to continue, season five or into the future.”
Kevin “loved” his time on ‘Yellowstone’ – but the actor confirmed he wouldn’t be returning to the show.
The Hollywood star – who reportedly clashed with the show’s producers – said: “I loved it and I know you loved it. I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning.”

Pamela Anderson: I’ve had a beautiful and messy life

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson has had a “beautiful, messy life”.
The 57-year-old actress thinks her “life experience” helped her with her starring role in ‘The Last Showgirl’, the Gia Coppola-directed drama movie.
Pamela – who plays a seasoned showgirl in the film – told Entertainment Weekly: “Having a beautiful, messy life is something incredible to draw from, and sometimes I’ll look back on my life and think, I could have done this differently, but you need the life experience to be able to look back and say those things.
“I do love the craft of acting and I have taken a lot of private lessons and, finally, I felt like this is an opportunity for me to put that into practice.”
Pamela actually relished playing the film’s central character.
She said: “I knew I was capable of more than I’d done in the past, and I kind of had given up and went home and thought, oh well, it’s too bad. I screwed up. I didn’t work hard enough or people just see me a certain way because I fell into the trappings.
“I want to be defined by what I do and not what has been done to me.”
Meanwhile, Pamela previously admitted to being “painfully shy” during her younger years.
The actress – who played the part of Casey Jean ‘C.J.’ Parker on ‘Baywatch’ in the 90s – claimed that the public’s perception of her doesn’t really chime with the reality.
Pamela – who became a sex symbol on the back of her ‘Baywatch’ fame – told Allure: “I was painfully shy … I wouldn’t [even] wear a bathing suit … I knew I had to jump off a bridge to get to … [release it].”

Sophia Loren recalls feeling ‘confused’ by Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophia Loren felt “confused” when she arrived in Hollywood for the first time.
The 90-year-old actress began her acting career in Italy in the 1950s – but when she finally made the switch to Hollywood, Sophia was shocked to discover that Hollywood wasn’t “a fairytale city”.
She told Deadline: “I’ll never forget looking out the window as I was landing in Los Angeles for the first time and being confused by what I saw.
“Coming from Pozzuoli I pictured Hollywood like a version of Oz, a fairytale city filled with fantasy and colour but what I saw was fields of orange trees and desert.”
Despite this, Sophia was ultimately wowed by the people she met in the American film industry.
The actress – who is one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema – said: “It took me a while to reconcile the Hollywood of my dreams with its city but as soon as I met the actors and the filmmakers that I so admired, I once again found the Hollywood of my dreams for that dream lived in the great talent and hearts of all those wonderful artists.”
Sophia starred in the 1960 war drama ‘Two Women’, and that film proved to a turning point in her career, as it proved her versatility as an actress.
Sophia – who became a sex symbol in the 1950s – said: “Playing ‘Two Women’ was a turning point in my career, no question about that.
“But it wasn’t so much about defying that label as it was proving to myself that I could be the kind of actress that I had always aspired to. An actress who could immerse herself in a character in as authentic and real a way as possible while at the same time speak a truth of emotion that was universal.
“That film showed me that my emotions, if authentic and heartfelt, could travel the world.”

Nicole Scherzinger issues apology after Brand Instagram comment

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger has issued an apology after a comment she made on Russell Brand’s Instagram sparked backlash.
After Brand, 49, posted a picture with a red hat with the slogan ‘Make Jesus First Again’, which bore a strong resemblance to president-elect Donald Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ baseball caps, Nicole, 46, commented: “Where do I get this hat?”
However, many of her fans and social media followers were dismayed that she was engaging with controversial comic Brand and appearing to support Trump’s win in the US Presidential election.
Following the backlash, Nicole took to Instagram to write: “I deeply apologize for the hurt caused by my recent engagement with some social media posts. When I commented on these posts, I made the mistake of not realizing that they could be easily interpreted as being politically related and I apologize to anyone who understandably reached that conclusion.
“Many presumptions are being drawn, which do not reflect who I am, what I stand for, or who I voted for. Many of the marginalized communities feeling hurt and concerned by the results of the presidential election are people I care about most. I stand with them, as I always have, throughout my life and career. If you know me, you know that.
“Like so many others, in times of adversity and uncertainty, I turn to my faith. I believed that the posts I engaged with were about encouraging people to choose love and faith — ‘putting Jesus first.’ For me Christ embodies peace, compassion, hope, and above all — unconditional love, especially for those who may feel it the least right now.
“I come from a place of love, and I will always support values that bring us closer together. It’s so important we come together with compassion, and love one another more now than ever.”

Dolly Parton isn’t ‘egotistical’ about her success

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton could ever be “egotistical”.
The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker has enjoyed a hugely successful career but she’s never taken anything for granted and insisted she was just using her “God-given talent”.
She told Britain’s Closer magazine: “I love what I do. I’m thankful I’ve got to make a living at what I love.
“I pray for guidance, and just let me enjoy what I do, what I feel like was my God-given talent.
“So it never crosses my mind that I should be egotistical about that, Id be afraid it might be taken away from me.”
Dolly credits her faith for keeping her grounded.
She said: “I just love people and I never forgot where I came from or who I am and I’m grounded in my faith and in my principles and my own values.
“I live according to the rules that I’ve set for myself.
“But I like people and I like to make people feel like they can be close to me.”
Meanwhile, the ‘9 to 5’ singer believes being true to herself is very important.
She said: “I guess my own mother gave me the best piece of advice – it was that old saying of to thine own self be true.
“I think that says so much more than just that.
“It’s like, be true to yourself, know who you are.
“If you know who you are, and you’re grounded in yourself and in your faith, then you can make people feel good around you, because they feel comfortable.
“I always say, I don’t give advice but I have lots of information.”

Wallis Day finds ‘family’ among co-stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Wallis Day’s co-stars are her “family”.
The ‘Batwoman’ actress can get lonely when she is working in Los Angeles as it means spending months away from her loved ones in the UK, but she’s realised she isn’t the only one in the same position so takes comfort from having others to share her woes with.
She told HELLO! Fashion magazine: “My family is here in England, so London is home. Home is where your family is, isn’t it?
“The cast are like your family when you’re away from home and on a set in Hollywood. I’ve had times where I’ve felt really lonely in the middle of a job in a hotel room by myself.
“At the end of the day, most people are in the same boat. Everybody’s away from their families. Everyone has something going on back home.
“That loneliness just goes because you are their family.”
The 30-year-old star – who began modelling when she was just 13 years old before landing her first acting roles later in her teens – struck up a particular bond with ‘Sheroes’ co-star Isabelle Fuhrman because of their shared past experiences.
She said: “I really like it, because there is an unspoken understanding between us about the challenges of growing up in this industry.
“It creates an instant camaraderie because you’ve been navigating such a unique world from such a young age, and we support each other.
“There’s an additional layer of trust and connection through life experience. You see a lot on sets…”
But the former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress still has moments that are “really low”, so is doing her best to work on herself.
She said: “There are so few people that can relate to your life that the lows are really low.
“But I’m always working on myself, as I know that most of my artist friends are as well.
“I usually turn to my support system. Family, friends, therapy.
“When I put my mental health first, I try to achieve little goals throughout the day as it gives me a sense of accomplishment and momentum which is important in this industry.”

Warwick Davis left more than £500,000 by late wife

OHMYGOSSIP — Warwick Davis’ late film star wife left him more than £500,000 in her will.
The ‘Willow’ actor, 54, was left shattered when his partner Samantha died on 24 March – with the actor announcing her passing nearly a month later in an emotional statement in which he hailed her as his “favourite human”.
It has now emerged Warwick was designated as the sole trustee, with documents seen by The Sun showing her estate was worth £536,830 when she died.
Her final will was signed in 1998 and went unchanged for the rest of her life.
Warwick opened up about his wife’s health after she was rushed to hospital with sepsis in 2018, telling The Sun her health dramatically declined ahead of a family caravan holiday.
The actor met Samantha on the set of ‘Willow’ in 1988 and they married three years later.
He said in his statement announcing her death: “Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs.
“She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.
“Without Sammy, there would have been no ‘Tenable’ quiz show, no ‘Willow’ series. No ‘Idiot Abroad Series 3’.”
Warwick added his late wife was his most “trusted confidante” and an “ardent supporter of everything I did in my career”.
The couple’s children, Harrison and Annabelle, added in their tribute: “Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers
“Her love and happiness carried us through our whole lives.”
Actress Samantha’s dad Peter was an extra alongside her in ‘Willow’ and she had achondroplasia – a bone growth disorder that causes disproportionate dwarfism.
Warwick was born with Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita – a rare genetic form of dwarfism – that was inherited by his and Samantha’s two kids.
He previously revealed how his and Samantha’s conditions resulted in the deaths of two of their babies.
The first, Lloyd, died after nine days as his lungs were too small to support normal function and they lost son George when Samantha was 19 weeks pregnant.
Warwick said the deaths brought him closer to his wife, adding: “That kind of stuff just makes you stronger.”

Liam Payne’s body flown back to Britain ahead of funeral

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne’s body has been flown back to Britain ahead of his funeral.
The former One Direction singer died aged 31 on 16 October after he fell 45ft from the third-floor balcony of his suite at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires where he had been on holiday.
His father Geoff Payne, 66, arrived in Argentina days later and it was reported at the time he would face a long wait to get Liam’s body back home dure to local authorities carrying out toxicology and laboratory tests.
But it has now been released to his family ahead of his funeral, the BBC has reported.
A close friend of the former One Direction singer told MailOnline about plans for his upcoming funeral: “Liam will have a very big send-off, quite probably at a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart.
“Liam was so loved by so many people, there will obviously be enormous demand and so the service will necessarily be a huge affair.”
Liam’s family issued a statement paying tribute to the singer that said: “Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.
“We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”
Emergency workers who rushed to the scene of Liam’s death were too late to save him.
Liam sustained multiple traumas that led to internal and external bleeding, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office told Page Six.
Emergency medical doctor Alberto Crescenti was quoted by The US Sun saying: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.
“Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”
Eyewitnesses have claimed Liam was displaying “disturbing” behaviour in the lobby of the hotel where he died, with authorities discovering alcohol and controlled substances in Liam’s trashed hotel suite.
Images of the inside of Liam’s hotel room emerged showing a smashed TV, what appears to be white powder and medication.
Police have said the singer’s suite was in total “disarray”.
They have also said the circumstances surrounding Liam’s death were suspicious and possibly involved drugs – but have insisted there was no sign of third party involvement in his passing.

Prince Harry facing ‘strong possibility’ his immigration documents will be made public

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry faces the “strong possibility” his immigration documents may be made public in the wake of Donald Trump’s election victory.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, has been at the centre of demands for months by the Heritage Foundation think tank to have his visa application records revealed after he admitted in his 2023 memoir ‘Spare’ to recreational drugs use – something he would have been required to disclose in his immigration documents.
Director of The Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom Nile Gardiner has now told DailyMail.com: “I do think there’s a strong possibility that (his papers could be made public.)
“It’s the president’s prerogative. Also the new Homeland Security Secretary could order a review of Harry’s immigration application.
“There are multiple things that could happen but it would be in the best interests of the American people if the Trump administration releases Prince Harry’s records for public scrutiny and Harry should be held to account.”
Mr Gardiner added former president Joe Biden’s White House administration had “bent over backwards” to protect Prince Harry – but warned “that protection is going to come to an end” after Trump’s inauguration as America’s 47th president.
He said: “Releasing Harry’s immigration records would send a very strong message about applying the rule of law equally to everyone.
“There’s a clear public interest in their release. If Harry has nothing to hide he should support the release of the records.”
Mr Gardiner said he thinks Harry’s files will be made public in the next year.
The Heritage Foundation says Harry’s admissions about drugs could have made him ineligible for entry to the US.
It sued the US Department of Homeland Security after the agency – which oversees immigration – refused to disclose them under a Freedom of Information request, but in September a judge ruled the royal’s files were to remain private for now, which is something the right-wing Heritage Foundation is appealing.

The ‘Black Swan’ actress, 43, met her choreographer ex-husband, 47, on the set of the ballet drama in 2009 before they tied the knot in 2012, and a source has now told how she is feeling after he was snapped kissing a mystery woman last month.
They told Us Weekly: “Natalie isn’t surprised that Benjamin has moved on because of how their relationship ended. She thought he’d move on pretty quickly.
“(Natalie) hopes Benjamin is happy.”
Another insider told the publication: “Benjamin’s dating life doesn’t really have any bearing on Natalie.
“She’s super happy in her life right now and has been prioritizing family and friends.”

As she turned 43 in June, Natalie thanked friends for lifting her spirits “again and again”.
She said in a message on her Instagram: “This year, on my birthday, I want to celebrate my gratitude for my friends who lift me up again and again.”

“It just wasn’t something that was on his radar. So when Gisele broke the news to him he was stunned, to say the least.”
