Conan O’Brien was ‘jealous’ of how Matthew Perry made ex Lisa Kudrow laugh

OHMYGOSSIP — Conan O’Brien was “jealous” when ex Lisa Kudrow heaped praise on Matthew Perry.
The 61-year-old late night talk show host dated the ‘Friends’ actress from 1988 until 1993, and he has admitted finding it tough hearing her gush over her late co-star’s sense of humour in the iconic sitcom, which ran for a decade from 1994.
Chatting to Lisa, 60, on his own ‘Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend’ podcast, he said: “You called me up, and you were raving about [Matthew].
“And you were saying, he’s so funny… There was part of me that was jealous.
“Like, I was okay. I make you laugh pretty hard, and you were like, ‘No, you don’t understand. This guy’s really [funny].’ ”
Conan later attended Lisa’s wedding to Michel Stern two years after their breakup, and he got married himself to Liza Powel O’Brien in 2002.
Perry died aged 54 in October 2023, and since his death, Lisa has started watching ‘Friends’ again.
She explained: “I mean, I’d see it on and be mildly interested, and then I’d see me and say, ‘That’s enough of that. I can’t bear it.’
“And then well, listen. After Matthew died, I could start watching the show again because it wasn’t about me. It had to do with him for some reason.”
Lisa hailed the entire cast – which also featured Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc – as “phenomenally hilarious”.
However, she had special praise for Perry, whom Conan described as having “impeccable timing”.
She said: “He was such a huge [talent]. I thought that Chandler character, when I read it, I went, ‘Oh, they have a gay character, that’s good’.
“And so at the table read, I just did a double take at him. Oh my god.
“That I never even in a million years could have envisioned anyone playing the character like that and with his own rhythm and everything. It’s his own.”
Lisa recently opened up on rewatching ‘Friends’ as her own way of “celebrating how hilarious” Perry was, and she has been “laughing out loud” at the rest of the cast.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m blown away by Courteney Cox. I’m blown away by Jen.
“Matthew, obviously, is just uniquely hilarious. No one ever knew that cadence or comedic rhythm before him.
“Matt LeBlanc is hilarious. And David Schwimmer, too. Sometimes I even laugh at what I’ve done.”

Hailey Bieber reveals why she is ‘not super close’ to her family

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber is “not super close” to her family.
The 27-year-old model – who is currently expecting her first baby with husband Justin Bieber – is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and his Kennya, as well as the niece of Hollywood star Alec Baldwin, but does not really see much of her famous family these days even though she has “fond” memories of her childhood.
She told W Magazine: “I had a fairly normal childhood. Obviously, I come from the family that I come from, and I always recognized that that was different. “I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent. I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family. “But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.”
The Rhode founder started to build her career on the catwalk towards the end of her teen years and reflected that was a time that she had to learn to stand on her own two feet while all her friends were venturing off to higher education.
She said: “I started traveling the world, making my own money. I got my own apartment and had to learn how to live on my own and pay bills. That pushed me into adulthood kind of quickly, when most of my friends were just leaving for college.”
Meanwhile, Hailey revealed that she and ‘Peaches’ hitmaker Justin, 30, are just trying to enjoy the time they have together before their little one arrives.
She said: “In the beginning [of pregnancy], it was super emotional for me. Like, ‘I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this? I’m trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us.”

He told E! News: “If someone were to offer me a movie that my kids could watch, I would take it in an instant. But because of the way Hollywood works now, they see me in a different light, and I don’t know if I get those roles now. We’ll see. But if something comes along# in an animated world or something that’s made for children, I would definitely want to do that for my kids. I would love for them to be able to come to the premiere.”
The ’40 Days and 40 Nights’ star is about to launch his latest film role as serial killer in ‘Trap’ and explained that this movie – in which he stars alongside screen legend Hayley Mills and R+B singer Saleka – was a “blessing” to take on because he is “nothing like” his character.
He said: “It’s supposed to be a really fun ride with unexpected twists, but also a characterization that is unlike hopefully other things you’ve seen out there before. And this character was such a blessing to take on because there’s nothing else like him. I had such a fun time making this film..
“It’s extremely gratifying that people are interested in what I’m doing. I mean, we don’t make movies for ourselves, we make them for an audience. As much as I like to challenge myself, I also want the audience to want to go on that ride. So, it’s extremely gratifying that people are liking what I’m doing right now.”

Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley reveals the reason for her career success

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley thinks her career success is down to the encouragement of her mother.
The 32-year-old actress is best known for her role as Rey in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise but is now starring as Olympic swimmer Gertrude Ederle in the new biopic ‘Young Woman and the Sea’ and recalled that her mother Louise always managed find “balance” in life as she told her to just give acting a try, even when she had no clue about the indistry.
She told OK! Magazine: “Trudy is a true role model. Who were your role models growing up?
I grew up with two sisters. We fought like animals and loved each other fiercely. I’m the youngest, so I always wanted to be like them, but also do my own thing. I grew up in a household with a mother who always balanced work and family. She had her own life, but was a committed parent. She never deterred me or my sisters from what we were doing. It was, ‘OK! If you want to try it, sure.’
“She’s forever committed to all of us. I think part of my determination in wanting to be an actor is because I had a mum saying, ‘Well, try.’ I didn’t know about agents. There was so much I didn’t know. And with Trudy, there’s so much she didn’t really know, too. How’s she going to get to swim the Channel? She just knows it’s what she wants. I would draw comparisons in the determination of being allowed to have a dream and try things out.”
In the film, Daisy had to film her own stunts in the water but admitted that she had a “fear” of it to begin with and worried that she was going to be “eaten by a shark” on set.
She said: ” At the beginning, I told [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer and [director] Joachim Rønning that I had a bit of a fear of open water. That was underselling it, because I actually don’t go in the sea beyond where. I can see the floor. I knew there weren’t sharks where we were filming in the Black Sea, but I was like, “Am I going to get eaten by a shark?” It was an obstacle, mentally.”

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise barred from having separate trailers on ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ set

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were barred from having separate trailers on the ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ set.
The Oscar-winner, 57, starred alongside Tom, 62, in the 1999 Stanley Kubrick movie, which saw her play the wife of Tom’s doctor character Bill Hartford, who sends him reeling when she tells him she fantasised about sleeping with another man.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the film’s release, Nicole told the Los Angeles Times about how the iconic filmmaker made them share space during shooting:
“We had a home 10 minutes away, but we lived in that trailer. Tom and I shared it because Stanley would say, ‘You’re not each getting a trailer. We can’t afford it.’.”
She added Tom would regularly spend his downtime playing video games such as ‘Minesweeper’ in their trailer in between filming.
Nicole also said they spent huge amounts of time with Stanley – who died aged 70 the year ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ came out – at his home as they prepared to make the film.
She added: “When Tom and I first started with Stanley, it was at his home, and we didn’t even go over to the sets at Pinewood (Studios.)
“Six, eight weeks passed, and we’re wondering, ‘Are we ever going to start?’ And we just wouldn’t start. We were getting comfortable with each other, comfortable enough to throw out ideas. For that scene, we improvised the beginning of it through the rehearsals.”
Fans have speculated shooting the film’s intense scenes that delved into complex couple dynamics put a strain on Nicole and Tom’s marriage, and the actress said they spent weeks shooting one heavy scene that was eventually cut.
She added: “It was the scene with Tom and I where I start by smoking the spliff in bed and where I laugh and deliver the long monologue.
“That took many weeks. A lot of that was rehearsing in the bedroom and then him not liking what we’d done.
“So we ended up reworking it, constructing it as we went along. There was no need to rush. Stanley would never go over budget. What he bought was time.”

Ryan Reynolds’ daughter James, 9, ‘sort of OK’ after watching new ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ film

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds’ nine-year-old daughter is “sort of OK” after watching his new ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ film.
The 47-year-old actor – who has four children with wife Blake Lively – let his oldest girl James watch the film ahead of its release despite its adult content, which led to it getting an R-rating that Ryan said was the result of the movie sticking to the “authenticity” of its raunchy, violent roots.
He told People: “My nine-year-old saw the movie, and she’s sort of okay! (But she) loved it.”
Ryan cautioned his decision to sit through the film with his child was “just me though” and added: “I’m not telling other parents to do that.”
The actor recently told The New York Times he watched R-rated movies as a child, which he said “left a huge impression on me because I didn’t feel like people were pulling punches, and it’s been a huge inspiration to so many of the things that I look to make now”.
Ryan said about his latest release’s R-rating: “Deadpool and the world that Deadpool was able to inhabit (in) the other two movies was limitless, so I would say that in this movie, particularly bringing Wolverine over, the R-rating is only used to lay the groundwork for as much authenticity between these two characters as possible.
“It’s not exploited in any way. It’s not used to shock people or make some silly set piece just to justify its R-rating.
“It’s so that we can talk the way these two characters should talk, and behave the way these two characters should behave (so) that they are as close to the origins of their comic book ancestry as humanly possible.”
Along with James, Ryan and Blake, 36, have kids Inez, seven, and Betty, four, and 17-month-old Olin – whose name they have only now revealed.

Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voigt believes she has been ‘exposed to propaganda’

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie’s father believes she has been “exposed to propaganda”.
The 49-year-old actress’ Oscar-winning dad Jon Voigt, 85, made the remark while also claiming his daughter’s views on the Israel-Hamas war have been influenced by “anti-Semitic people”.
He added during an outspoken interview with Variety: “She has been exposed to propaganda. She’s been influenced by anti-Semitic people.
“Angie has a connection to the UN, and she’s enjoyed speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees.”
Jon was referring to Angelina’s former position as a special envoy of the UN High Commission for Refugees.
Pro-Israel Jon’s outburst comes weeks after he said he was proud of his daughter, and his granddaughter Vivienne, 16, after the musical the pair produced, ‘The Outsiders’, won four gongs at the 2024 Tony Awards – including Best Musical.
He told TMZ at the time of their victory: “I’m very proud of Vivienne. I’m really proud of Angie because she really tries to encourage each of the kids to be what they want to be.
“I’m sure Angie contributed with the actors and Angie’s a great director.”
Along with Vivienne, ‘Maleficent’ star Angelina has five other children with her 60-year-old former husband Brad Pitt – Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Knox, who is Vivienne’s twin.
Jon has previously slammed Angelina over her anti-Israel posts – saying they were “lies”.
He said in an Instagram post in November: “I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honour, God’s truths.
Angelina has accused Israel of “deliberately bombing children, women, families, deprived of food, medicine and humanitarian aid”.

Céline Dion ‘to get $2m to perform comeback show at Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony’

OHMYGOSSIP — Céline Dion will reportedly get $2 million to perform a comeback show during the Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony.
The 56-year-old ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer was forced to stop performing following her 2022 diagnosis of the rare condition Stiff Person Syndrome, but is now set to make a return to the stage for just one song at the event in France.
TMZ has now reported – after she was spotted checking into the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris on Monday (22.07.24): “Sources with direct knowledge tell us she is getting ready to take the stage Friday.
“Our sources say she will be paid handsomely… $2 million!!!
“By the way, that’s for just ONE song!”
The outlet added an insider had insisted she is “feeling fine” amid her health fight.
Céline’s apparent plan to perform comes after she shared footage of her suffering a torturous seven-minute seizure caused by her Stiff Person Syndrome.
The astonishingly vulnerable video of her fit was included in her new documentary ‘I Am: Celine Dion’, which details her battle with the condition and premiered on Tuesday (25.06.24) on Prime Video.
It showed the singer’s doctor conducting an evaluation as she had been experiencing spasms due to SPS, with sports medicine therapist Terrill Lobo saying: “Part of the disease is that as soon as you go into a contraction, sometimes… the signal to release it, doesn’t understand, so it ends up just staying in a contracted position.”
After he gets Céline to lie down on a massage table, the singer keeps spasming, which Terrill warns could spark “a crisis”.
The Grammy-winning entertainer is then seen going into a severe, full-blown fit as the doctor calls in another member of his medical team to bring in Valium.
Céline can be heard moaning in agony as she shakes while face down, and
When Terrill goes to lift her on her side the singer starts whimpering and crying.
One more shocking moment in the scene shows Céline wide-eyed and unable to move on her own – but still conscious.
She then starts crying as the spasm continues to wrack her body and when Terrill asks her to try and “calm down”, the singer starts sobbing more loudly.
Céline is seen getting two doses of a nasal spray before she eventually starts to come out of the seizure.
Terrill says if she hadn’t recovered she would have had to have been rushed to hospital.
Céline says after she recovers the incidents make her feel “so embarrassed”.
She adds: “I don’t know how to express it, like, it’s just, you know, like, to not have control of yourself?”

Chris Brown being sued for $50million over ‘brutal assault of four concertgoers’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Brown and his entourage are being sued for $50 million for the alleged “brutal” and “violent” assault” of four concertgoers.
The R and B singer, 35, and several of his team were allegedly involved in the incident on Friday (19.07.24) following the performer’s show at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
A lawsuit obtained by People says Chris and members of his entourage named as Conway, Hood Boss (aka Omololu Omari Akinlolu), as well as Sinko Ceej “brutally and severely beat” four men – Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush and Damarcus Powell.
They allege it was an unprovoked attack backstage at the show and
Live Nation, the promoter of Chris’ ‘11:11’ tour is also being sued over the alleged fight.
The complaint claims the company continued its relationship with Chris despite his history of “bad conduct and violent conduct”.
It said it “shamelessly profits and promotes” Chris’ ‘11:11 Tour’ and brought “Brown to Texas for financial gain”.
Tony Buzbee, attorney for the claimants, said: “This is Texas. The people here don’t care how important or famous you think you are, you have an obligation to follow the laws and conduct yourself in an appropriate way.
“Unprovoked violence can’t and won’t be tolerated. We intend to seek all damages that the law allows against Brown and his cohorts, to include punitive damages.”
The complaint says: “The violence included Brown and his entourage surrounding the Plaintiffs, throwing chairs at them, and repeatedly kicking, stomping, and beating them.
“The unprovoked violence included multiple strikes to the Plaintiffs’ heads and chests, and ultimately involved stomping them while they were down. The brutal, violent assault participated in and directed by Brown, severely injured all Plaintiffs.”
It added the four men were invited into the VIP area of Chris’ concert where they were allegedly waiting for the singer for 30 minutes.
When they got tired of waiting, alleged victim Charles Bush says he made his way to the exit where he congratulated Chris on his set – allegedly leading to one of Chris’ entourage shouting: “Man, you don’t remember you two were beefing?”
The plaintiffs then claim they were followed into a hallway by “seven to 10” of Chris’ crew as they tried to leave, and they were attacked.
They are asking the court for compensatory and punitive damages “in excess (of) $50 million” as well as damages including “pecuniary losses, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and past, present, and future medical expenses”.
Their complaint also cites Chris’ run-ins with the law including his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, 36, which resulted in him accepting a plea deal of community labour, five years’ probation and domestic violence counselling.
He has also faced a string of other alleged physical and sexual assault accusations over the years, most recently in 2023.

Charli XCX’s branding of US Vice President Kamala Harris a ‘brat’ praised by Democrat’s step-daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX’s branding of US Vice President Kamala Harris as a “brat” has been praised by the Democrat’s step-daughter.
The singer, 31, used the slang – which is also the title of her new album – as a compliment as she gave her backing to the 59-year-old and her presidential campaign just after US President Joe Biden, 81, announced on Sunday (21.07.24) he was quitting his race for the White House after contracting Covid.
When Joe then announced he was giving his “full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee for our party this year”, Charli wrote on X: “Kamala IS brat.”
Kamala’s 25-year-old stepdaughter Ella Emhoff has now said on her Instagram Story: “Charli_xcx gets it.”
She made the remark by pasting it over Charli’s viral “Kamala IS brat” message.
Charli’s post referred to the title of her latest album, released on 7 June – and soon after the post Kamala’s official campaign cashed in on the support by changing its banner on X to mimic the style of “brat”.
After the alteration, it read “kamala hq” in lowercase black lettering with a lime green background.
Charli – real name Charlotte Emma Aitchison – defined her take on the word “brat” in a video on TikTok, saying: “You’re just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes.
“Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown. But kind of like parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile.
“Like does dumb things. But it’s brat. You’re brat. That’s brat.”
Some of Kamala’s most popular quotes and video clips have now been spliced together and set to Charli’s songs.
Many of the clips have been tinted in the lime green hue of the singer’s ‘brat’ album cover – or the cover is seen popping up in between clips of Harris.
One of the most used quotes in the clips is Kamala telling the US president: “We did it, Joe”, after he was elected in 2020 – making her the first female vice president in American history.
Kamala launched her first full day of campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination on Monday (22.07.24) following Joe’s withdrawal from the 2024 election race.

Halle Berry strips and covers chest with two of her felines to mark ‘Catwoman’ 20th anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Berry stripped and covered her chest with two of her cats to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her ‘Catwoman’ film.
The 57-year-old actress recently said the one upside of starring in the 2004 superhero movie – which was a critical and commercial failure – was that she moved from being a lifelong dog fan to a “cat lover”.
She captioned a series of cheeky images of herself posted on Instagram – showing her in a black eye mask and naked except for black underwear and two of her cats as cover for her cleavage: “And STILL… meow! It’s been 20 years today since I had the honour of bringing this iconic character to life.
“She will always be close to my heart and I will forever be Patience Phillips aka CATWOMAN!”
Halle also thanked a fan named Jee for helping her rescue the two black cats in the photos, adding: “When these black beauties showed up in my yard searching for their mother, Jee helped us through the rescue process. Forever grateful! (Red heart emoji.)”.
Fans filled the comments section of her post with praise, saying she looked “stunning”.
Halle played meek artist Patience Philips in ‘Catwoman’, which came out on 23 July 23, 2004 – making $82.4 million at the global box office on a $100 million budget and receiving a mauling from film critics.
But she recently told She told Entertainment Weekly about the positive of featuring in the flop: “I became a cat lover because of it. I just rescued four kitties I found in my yard three weeks ago.
“I’m a Catwoman through and through, because of that experience and those relationships. That experience changed me.”
Entertainment Weekly described Halle as a “self-proclaimed, lifelong dog person” in their story on her comments.
Halle – who also owns two Labradoodles – also recently posted on her Instagram that she adopted kittens from a family of stray cats she discovered in her garden.
She posed with two of the felines, who she called Boots and Coco, and captioned the post: “I found these two little fur babies in my yard along with their two siblings and their mom!
“I got the mommy spayed and released her back in my yard and she’s now our outdoor cat and the other 2 babies I’ve found a forever home for and these two are our new lovies. It’s a full house over here!”
They appear to be the same two cats in her raunchy new set of social media snaps.

Kevin Hart thinks Tom Brady branded Netflix Roast ‘bittersweet’ as he wanted to ‘protect’ family

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart thinks Tom Brady branded his Netflix Roast “bittersweet” as he wanted to “protect” his family.
The comic, 45, spoke out after retired NFL star Tom, 46, told ‘The Pivot’ podcast in May he regretted agreeing to the event as his children were “affected” by the gags.
During the live-streamed 5 May roast from the Kia Forum, California, Tom was targeted with a string of close-to-the-knuckle gags about his divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, 44, with whom he has children Benjamin, 14, and 11-year-old Vivian.
Kevin told the Bleacher Report about Tom’s reaction: “I can side with time and see where he’s coming from and just him wanting to protect the idea of family and the conversation attached to that.
“That’s probably where that’s coming from.
“And you know, I’m not privy to whatever he dealt with after, so I know his response and saying something about it was a result of possibly that.”
Tom told ‘The Pivot’ he “didn’t like” the way his children were “affected” by the jokes made about his exes Gisele and Bridget Moynahan.
He said: “It’s the hardest part about the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realise, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”
Father-of-three Tom also has 16-year-old son John “Jack” Edward Thomas with his actress ex Bridget, 52.
Kevin added: “When he says he regretted doing it… I think he’s saying, ‘I could have tapered it a little differently, or (had) a conversation pre-(roast), of like, ‘Guys, let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this or this’.
“The idea of going all in and just saying, ‘I don’t care, because I know the world would love to see me being on the receiving end of s*** because I’m Tom Brady and I’ve been at the highest stage all my life’ – I think it was that.”

Others set to perform at the festival include Mavis Staples, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson with The Travelin’ McCourys, Charley Crockett, Joy Oladokun, Southern Avenue, Cassandra Lewis and Jesse Welles – with more names set to be announced at a later date.
The festival will be held in Saratoga Springs, New York, on 21 September.
Neil worried fans in June when he said on his website the Crazy Horse ‘Love Earth Tour’ had been axed after some members of the rock band fell ill.
He added: “The Love Earth Tour has been a great experience for us so far. GREAT AUDIENCES AND MUSIC. WE HAVE HAD A BLAST!
“When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop.
“We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break.
We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again!”
Neil also thanked fans for their “understanding and patience” and stressed “health is #1”.
He went on in his blog post: “We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you… and for us.
“With love and thanks to all of you from Crazy Horse….. Neil, Micah, Ralph and Billy Love Earth.”
Neil and Crazy Horse were also forced to postpone scheduled shows in Chicago, Austin and Dallas in May “due to illness” – which was revealed on a separate blog.
