Famous faces rushed to heap praise on the 81-year-old democrat moments after he announced with a letter posted on X he was stepping down from the 2024 White House race against his 78-year-old rival Donald Trump, who is riding hiding on a wave of MAGA support after surviving an assassination attempt on 13 July.

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh dropped Pitt from her last name “following painful events”.
The former couple have five other kids alongside the teen, who filed for the name change on her 18th birthday – 27 May – with the alteration announced with a legally-obligated public notice in the Los Angeles Times shortly after her move.
In a new statement, Shiloh’s attorney Peter Levine called it a “significant decision” and said people should be careful about how they report the decision – stressing she never took out an “ad” to publicise it.
He said: “The media should be more careful in their reporting, especially when covering a young adult who has made an independent and significant decision following painful events, and is merely following legal process.
“Shiloh Jolie did not take out an ‘ad’ announcing any name change, and any press reporting that is inaccurate.
“As Shiloh’s attorney, I am required to publish a legal notice because the law in California requires that of anyone who wants to change their name.
“That legal notice was published in the Los Angeles Times, as is required.”
His comments echo those made by California-based family law attorney David Glass, who told People the public name change announcement in a newspaper “could not have been avoided” so Shiloh’s official name-change process could go ahead.
He added: “She has to file a formal petition with the court to change her name,
and she has to run an ad four weeks in a row before the hearing is scheduled, in addition to giving both of her parents written notification.
“These name change petitions usually run very smoothly and are granted, unless the person has a criminal history and is trying to get away from punishment or liabilities… (I’ve) never seen one opposed in court.
“Brad could come to court and say, for example, that Shiloh has been alienated against him by the mother. But because she is no longer a minor, she can essentially call herself whatever she wants.”
Angelina, 49, and Brad, 60, split in 2016 and they have kids Shiloh, Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
A source has told People ‘Fight Club’ actor Brad, who is dating businesswoman Ines de Ramon, 31, he now has “virtually no contact with the adult kids”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Two of Alec Baldwin’s collapsed ‘Rust’ court case jurors have said he wasn’t facing a “very strong case” and it was “silly” he was on trial.
The 66-year-old actor burst into tears on July 12 in a New Mexico court room – where he was standing accused of involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of neo-Western movie ‘Rust’ in New Mexico in 2021 – when his case was chucked out by a judge after she heard a motion from his legal team over a claim ammunition evidence was hidden.
Two jurors, Johanna Haag and Gabriela Picayo, have now spoken to the New York Times about their feelings over the case, saying as it went on they decided Alec shouldn’t be in court over the tragedy.
Johanna said: “As the week went by, it just didn’t, it didn’t seem like a very strong case.
“It was clearly an accident, and the idea that there’s anything purposeful, or the idea that there was this grave carelessness that caused this, didn’t seem realistic to me.”
Gabriela, a scientist who served as juror No 9, added Alec should not have been expected to know a lot about gun safety.
She said: “I think he would have trusted the people, you know, on the set to do their job… I was starting to move towards the direction of thinking that this was very silly and he should not be on trial.”
Alec insisted he did not pull the trigger or know how the gun that killed Halyna contained live ammunition and was facing up to 18 months if convicted of her involuntary manslaughter.
The actor’s lawyers said the Santa Fe sheriff’s office took possession of live rounds as evidence in the case but failed to list them in the ‘Rust’ investigation file or disclose their existence to defence lawyers.
During his trial, Alec’s lawyer Alex Spiro made the claim to a sheriff’s office crime scene technician under cross-examination during a hearing on the motion to dismiss the case while jurors were not in the courtroom.
Alec’s attorney Luke Nikas also told the judge: “We’re talking about a prosecution that didn’t preserve those bullets, that didn’t collect them at all. That didn’t turn them over.
“This is critical evidence in the case that was never disclosed to us… we were entitled to it.
“This case should be dismissed, Your Honor.”
Alec broke his silence on the case being tossed in an Instagram post a day later.
He said in a caption alongside an image of himself at Santa Fe County District Courthouse with his fingers to his lips as he looked into the air: “There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now.
“To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family.”
His post was liked by more than 1,000 people within minutes, and his supporters included Sir Anthony Hopkins.

She also claimed paparazzi taking picture of the couple only use snaps of her looking bad. She added: “They will take maybe 150 pictures, then they choose the four where you look worst”.
According to the publication, Kate previously opened up about her experience of being in the public eye in an episode of her own podcast, admitting she wasn’t prepared for all the hate from online trolls.
She explained: “Nothing could have prepared me for having literally thousands of women telling me I’m ugly, I’m unattractive, I’m less than in every conceivable way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Thorne has blamed controversial drug Ozempic for “setting crazy beauty standards”.
The 26-year-old actress has admitted she’s been struggling with body image issues for a while and she is convinced that seeing other people who are using the diabetes medication to slim down has compounded her worries.
In a post on Instagram, she explained: “So I haven’t been feeling good about my body in a while, especially with everybody on Ozempic. And especially with everybody on Ozempic, it’s like setting all these crazy beauty standards that nobody can keep up with unless you’re on Ozempic.”
Bella went on to insist she’s been working out every day and is now feeling better, but she is still annoyed about the issues she claims Ozempic is causing.
She added: “I have swam every day and I have sweat out everything possible and I have walked everywhere. And, I’m finally feeling good about myself, Okay?

The 80-year-old rock star is a founding member of The Rolling Stones but despite having been part of one of the world’s most legendary bands for more than 60 years, he is said to have turned down multi-million pound deals to put pen to paper because he is “not interested” in going over the past.
A source told The Sun newspaper Bizarre column: “Mick has drawn the line under ever writing a book about his career and life.
“The sums are well over the £20million mark but he is all about looking forward, not reviewing the past.
“To spend 18 months or more working with an editor is not anything he is interested in. So it’s now a definite, ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’
Over the years, the life and times of the ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ has been documented in several biographies and one as recent as 2022 claimed that he had affairs with bandmates Keith Richards in the early days of the band, as well as its former guitarist Mick Taylor.
The long-running allegation Mick had a tryst with David Bowie is also mentioned in Lesley-Ann Jones’s ‘The Stone Age’ along with the frontman’s alleged affair with Austrian actor Helmut Berger as the author called for the rocker to be rebranded as a “bisexual icon”.
Towards the end of last year, Mick – who has eight children from various relationships – explained that nothing ever gets “easier” in life as he learned to become more and more aware of his “mortality” in a social circle where he was the oldest.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie J has been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive-disorder (OCD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The 36-year-old pop star revealed the news in a candid post on Instagram in which she explained she sought medical help after welcoming her first child – son Sky – last year “exposed” a lot of her symptoms.
Jessie wrote: “Hello. I was diagnosed with ADHD and OCD about three months ago. In telling people a lot of the reaction I got was, ‘Yeah I mean we knew that’ (which I’m sure some of you are doing right now) and of course I knew to some extent but having a baby has let’s say … exposed it a lot more, which was comforting in a way, as it made it feel less heavy and scary.
“But also in moments has made me feel like I can’t talk about it. F*** that. Here I am talking about it.”
Jessie went on to tell her followers she has felt ” a little different” her whole life and her diagnosis has allowed her to rethink the way she deals with her personal and professional issues.
She wrote: “It’s weird when you know you have been a little different and felt things differently your whole life, and finally one day when you least expect it, someone really explains why and you can’t avoid it.
“ADHD has such a wide spectrum it’s like a mystery putting your version of it together, that’s how it’s felt for me. In really understanding ways to cope, excel and grow with it. Tbh [to be honest] I low key feel like it’s a superpower as long as you look at it from the right perspective and have the right support and people around you that can navigate it with you.
“It’s made me re think about my whole life. The way I’ve been, the way I deal with things. The relationships I have had. How I work and how I love.
“It’s empowered me and honestly sometimes has overwhelmed me all at the same time.”
The ‘Price Tag’ star added that she feels happy to share her news with strangers on social media because there are so many other people going through similar issues and getting a diagnosis has allowed her to “love herself”.
She concluded: ” It has made me love myself even more. I’m hugging 11 year old me. Who would clean her trainers with a toothbrush when she was stressed and to this day has lived with a 1000 lists to not feel like life will crumble.
“Here’s to getting to know yourself even more through life. And loving yourself all the way. Nothing in life defines us, but it helps us grow and become a more wholesome version of ourselves.”
Jessie was supported by fellow pop star Becky Hill, who told the singer she was also went through a life-changing diagnosis last year.
Becky commented on the post: “I was diagnosed last year, think i’m also suspected autistic too, u should follow @adhd_love_ they’re great at making you feel incredibly normal and able to laugh at and love our neurodivergent ways.
“One video said ‘If i didn’t have ADHD as a label, I’d come up with much worse ones of my own like lazy or disorganised’
“I’ve really learnt to love and have compassion for myself since the diagnosis. I also think you can’t be an artist without being different from other people, it’s what makes us special.”

The Maroon 5 frontman, 45, married the Victoria’s Secret model, 36, at the Flora Farms resort in Cabo San Lucas back in 2014 in a ceremony that was officiated by actor Jonah Hill and the couple decided to return to Mexico 10 years on to mark their special milestone with 150 of their closest friends and family.
According to PEOPLE.com, the party was held at the same resort where the couple tied the knot and their wedding band Sublime with Rome returned to provide the entertainment.
The publication reports guests were treated to a feast of burrata, coal-roasted chicken and pan-seared sea bass served alongside Calirosa Paloma cocktails and skinny margaritas.
Since the couple first tied the knot, they have become parents to two daughters and a son. They first met in 2012 after connecting via email and the musician proposed a year later.
However, Behati previously described the romance as a “wild ride”. She told Net-a-Porter: “It was love at first sight. It was crazy. We broke up for two months, realised that it was the worst decision, then got back together, got engaged, and got married. It was a wild ride!”
After getting engaged, Behati opened up about the magical proposal, telling ‘Extra’: “[The ring is] from the 1930s. I was very giddy. I was speechless. It was a beautiful moment … He called my dad [before proposing], he was a stand-up guy, called my mom, he did the whole thing.”

The Jonas Brothers singer and his wife Danielle are already parents to daughters Alena, 10, and seven-year-old Valentina and though they paused any plans to have another baby due to his spouse’s recent health struggles, they are not ruling out expanding their family in the future.
Speaking on ‘The Viall Files’ podcast, Kevin, 36, told host Nick Viall: “If it’s God’s will, we’ll see.
“It’s like, we took some health time for my wife. She has Lyme disease, so she really wanted to get that right. She’s kind of only coming out of it now, in a good way, which is wonderful.
“Like all things, it just takes time and figuring out your life. But definitely not ruling it out.”
However, the ‘Claim to Fame’ host noted that having another baby at this point would be like starting again because his daughters are so grown up.
He laughed: “My oldest daughter came downstairs this morning and she had a cold ice roller on her face while she made herself breakfast. Like, she’s 10.
“She came down dressed, made herself breakfast and was getting ready for camp and rolling her face, like, my life is amazing right now.
“Do I want to be changing diapers? Maybe not, but at the same time, I love babies and I love having kids, so why not? Let’s go.”
And Kevin admitted Valentina wouldn’t be impressed to have a younger sibling.
He said: “[Alena] wants to have another kid. Our second [Valentina] does not. Our second is our little rock star [and] she’s like, ‘No way. No babies.'”

The 61-year-old Happy Mondays frontman – who has battled addiction issues and has had a number of health problems in recent years, including alopecia, arthritis and an underactive thyroid – admitted he ought to start thinking about arrangements for his funeral because the life span of other men in his family suggests he’s getting towards the end of his life.
Shaun – whose brother and bandmate Paul Ryder died in 2022 aged 58 – told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I’ve got 10 years left, maybe 15, so I should be thinking about it. My dad was dead by 74 and our kid is already dead.
“I’ve been to a few funerals lately.”
The ‘Loose Fit’ hitmaker is set to appear in new TV show ‘Celebrity Send Off’, where famous faces plan their loved one’s funeral, with Shaun’s arrangements being made by his friend and bandmate Bez.
But the ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star admitted he had never thought about the topic before the programme and didn’t even have a will.
He said: “I don’t know if I’d have a quiet one or a party. I’ve never even thought about having a funeral or dying!”
On the programme, Bez plans a UFO-themed send-off, including a service filled with spaceship-shaped flowers and then a ceremony to blast Shaun’s ashes into space by strapping them to fireworks, ending the celebration of his pal’s life with a rave.
Shaun said of his friend’s plan: “I wouldn’t mind going up into the sky like a UFO – but I want to be buried. I’m not getting cremated.”
The theme was a nod to the ‘Step On’ singer’s claim to have been visited by UFOs numerous times since he was a teenager, most recently just a few years ago.
He said: “I woke up one morning, about seven, and I looked out of the window and there was a UFO by our apple tree.
“I could have been hallucinating but I hadn’t taken any drugs! It looked like a giant Airfix model.
“Since I was 15, they haven’t left me alone. It might be because I’m neurodivergent – I’ve got ADHD.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Lennon’s son believes it is his “duty” to “bring attention” to the late star’s solo work.
The ‘Imagine’ hitmaker was shot dead in 1980 and while he is best known as a member of the legendary group The Beatles, Sean Ono Lennon – whose mother is artist Yoko Ono – thinks it is important for “the world” to look at the “personal” nature of the music he wrote in his final years.
Sean – who has been working on a re-release of John’s 1973 album ‘Mind Games’ – told The Sunday Times newspaper: “One thing that distinguishes my dad’s solo career is how personal his lyrics became.
“It is like a diary, and it is my duty to bring attention to my father’s music. Not just my duty to him, but a duty to the world.
“With the world as it is now, people have forgotten so many things that I never imagined could be forgotten.
“I refuse to let that happen to this music — it means too much to me.”
The record was written during a turbulent time in John’s life, when he had left wife Yoko, at her suggestion, for their assistant, May Pang, and was living in Los Angeles.
And despite the couple’s ups and downs, their son insisted their love for one another was always clear.
Sean, 48, said: “Their story is a love story. They found each other across a great divide and certainly struggled through ups and downs, but never doubted their love.
“It is important we remember them as an example. Even through rough patches you can see my father thought about my mother.
“They were simply, irrevocably intertwined.”
Meanwhile, former Apple Records vice president Tony King believes John would still have been politically active and embracing new technology if he were still alive today.
He said: “Elton [John] and I talk about John. We say, ‘I wonder what he’d be up to?’
“Well, he’d have pounced on the internet and got into AI. And he’d still campaign. I could see him hopping on a plane to see Zelensky.
“He was a busy person, with an arresting personality. You’re never going to forget him.”

The former Atomic Kitten singer is preparing to tie the knot with Ryan Mahoney and she admitted both she and the fitness trainer are considering surgical intervention in order to look their best for the big day.
She told OK! magazine: “Ryan’s had Botox once before, and he might get some more before the wedding.
“I would really like a lower facelift, to give me that chiselled jawline. And I want a boob job now too. I feel like my boobs are at my knees!”

She said: “We run our fitness platform MFIT together, so we both stay in shape through that.

The 51-year-old burlesque star has admitted she let the time to have children pass her by because she was so busy focusing on her career and now worries she may end up regretting the decision later in life.
Dita told The Times newspaper: “I was doing something no one had been famous for since Gypsy Rose Lee, so I thought, I’ve just got to keep rolling with the punches. I never thought, oh now’s the right moment for a time out.”
The star revealed she turned to fellow performer Mamie Van Doren, 93, for advice: “Mamie has a son she loves, but she was, like, ‘Don’t get caught up in [motherhood] being required of you’. Maybe one day I’m going to say I made a huge mistake not having children, but I don’t know.”
Dita has been dating graphic designer Adam Rajcevich for the last 10 years, but she’s adamant she won’t be walking down the aisle again following her failed marriage to rocker Marilyn Manson, which ended in divorce in 2007.
She added: “I’ve never been extraordinarily lucky in love. I’m notoriously not the blueprint for long-term, healthy relationships. And I remember at my wedding thinking, this is all a show.
“I understand why people want to have their day and wear the beautiful dress – but I feel like I get to do that every night on stage.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria acts like a “crazy aunt” and “spoils” her goddaughter Harper Beckham.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star grew close to Harper’s parents – Victoria and David Beckham – while they were living in Los Angeles and was chosen to be godmother to their only daughter after she was born in 2011 – and Eva admits she loves to indulge the 13 year old whenever she gets the chance.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “I’m like a crazy aunt that spoils her and supports her in anything she wants to do. She’s the sweetest kid you’ll ever meet.”
Eva was introduced to Victoria after her then-husband Tony Parker grew close to David Beckham during their time in the US and the pair have remained firm friends ever since.
The actress previously admitted the women are “inseparable” and are always available to support each other.
She told The Times newspaper: “I wish people knew how funny and charming and smart Victoria is. She’s the funniest person. I think she’s an introvert, but she’s an extrovert with me. We are inseparable.
“There’s never a moment I can’t call her, that she’s not available, that she’s not flying to see me, or I’m flying to see her.”
Eva even chose the Spice Girls star-turned-fashion designer to create her wedding dress when she married Jose Baston in 2016 and also asked her to act as a witness during the ceremony.
She told Hello! magazine: “I asked Victoria to do my dress because I wanted it to be special and made with love – and I knew Victoria would make it with love.
“Victoria was one of my witnesses, too – she signed the paper that says I was here – so it was a Victoria Beckham weekend.
“She was the best, sweetest person to have there on this day. Not only did she do my wedding dress but she’s one of my best friends so for her to be there was so special.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slash has been left devastated by the death of his stepdaughter.
The Guns ‘N Roses guitarist had announced on Sunday (21.07.24) that he was pulling out of four shows on his ‘S.E.R.P.E.N.T.’ festival tour due to “unforeseen circumstances” and hours later, he revealed he and his partner Meegan Hodges were mourning the loss of 25-year-old Lucy-Bleu Knight.
He wrote on Instagram: “Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.
“Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.
“The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
A number of Slash’s famous friends offered their condolences.
His GNR bandmate Duff McKagan’s wife Susan commented: “words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. love you all so much (sic)”
Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet posted: “My heart hurts for you guys. all the love to your family rn.(sic)”
And Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea wrote: “Oh man, god bless.(sic)”
Slash first dated Meegan in 1989 before they went their separate ways, rekindling their romance in 2015.
His partner – who had Lucy with Mark Knight – shared the same statement on her own Instagram account.
She also wrote: “I love you.”
It is currently unknown how Lucy-Bleu died.
Hours before making the sad announcement, the 58-year-old musician had announced he was pulling out of some forthcoming concerts.
A message shared on social media stated: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour regrettably has to cancel the below performances. Refunds will be available at points of purchase.
“The S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour will resume in Toronto on July 28, 2024 at Budweiser Stage. We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.”
The cancelled dates include a show in Cincinnati on Monday (22.07.24), followed by dates in Interlochen, Huber Heights, and Windsor.
