OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce has voiced her support for the US Olympic team.
The 42-year-old singer hailed several American athletes as part of NBC’s coverage of the opening ceremony in Paris.
The Grammy-winning star – who was seen sporting a red, white and blue leotard – said in a video message: “Get a look at America, y’all.
“These hopes and dreams, these superstars that represent us. The people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation. All rooting together for them.
“Come on, you’ve gotta love Noah [Lyles] and Sha’Carri [Richardson.] The fastest man and woman on the planet. They’ll race the world anytime, any place.
“How about Caeleb [Dressel]? Proud papa, back in the drink for more gold. And Katie [Ledecky]? The longer the race, the better she swims.
“And I know you know my girl Simone [Biles]. Born to fly, destined to inspire.

Beyonce subsequently encouraged viewers to throw their support behind Team USA.
The ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ hitmaker – who is married to rap star Jay Z – said: “That pride and that joy? That’s what gets me about this team. And that’s what makes me believe in this team. And that’s why I can’t wait to see what they pull off over these next 16 days.
“America, give it up for Team USA – the very best of who we are. What a vision to behold. What a team to believe in. What a night to celebrate.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora was hospitalised on Friday (26.07.24).
The ‘Let You Love Me’ singer had been due to perform at Campus Fesztival in Debrecen, Hungary, on Saturday (27.07.24) but was forced to pull out of the show hours before taking to the stage on “doctor’s orders”.
She wrote on her Instagram Story: “Please forgive this unexpected turn of events but sadly I will not be able to perform at Campus Fesztivál tonight.
“Having spent the night in hospital in Budapest, I must rest thoroughly and follow doctor’s orders.
“I am so sorry to my fans who are going to be there today and I’m truly thankful for your understanding.”
Festival organisers were “devastated” by the news.
They shared her statement on the event’s own Instagram page and wrote: “[Her] crew has been working since dawn to set up the show… we are devastated by the news too.
“Saturday’s programme of the main stage will be reorganised soon. We wish Rita a speedy recovery.”
The 33-year-old star – who is married to Taika Waititi – didn’t provide any further details on her condition, including whether or not she is still in hospital.
Rita had performed at the free festival As Young As Vilnius in Lithuania on Thursday (25.07.24).
She shared a series of photos on Instagram and wrote: “Lithuania you blew my mind!! 50k people, in the pouring rain, I appreciate every single one of you and you brought the ENERGY.”
The ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ hitmaker recently admitted performing live is her favourite part of her career.
She said: “I’m definitely touring with this new record that I’m going to put out next year. I wanted to change it up. All the festivals I’ve been doing this summer have been so much fun.
“Getting to perform live is my favourite part. I hate the studio. I love seeing the crowd and I really connect with the energy. The tour is the only reason I put music out.”

The 31-year-old singer – who split from the former One Direction hunk in 2015 – explained her current relationship with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has shown her what true and “healthy” love should be like, but she doesn’t think the ‘Pillowtalk’ hitmaker was solely responsible for the cracks in their romance.
Speaking on SiriusXM, she said of her relationship with her footballer fiance: “It’s safety, it’s calm. It’s being able to approach that person with anything and know that they’ll support you. They’ve always got your back. It’s a healthy love and I can’t explain it. It just feels nice.

OHMYGOSSIP — Armie Hammer’s mom believes his behaviour has been “morally wrong”.
The ‘Call Me By Your Name’ actor previously denied accusations of rape and physical abuse by a woman named Effie in 2021, who he had allegedly been in an on/off relationship with for four years and who shared graphic texts allegedly sent by her famous lover on Instagram, prompting other females to come forward and claimed he had made “weird” remarks about wanting to “eat” them, but his mother Dru Hammer never believed her son was a “cannibal” or did anything “criminal”.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I call it the perfect storm.
“All of this unfolded during Covid when people were locked away in their homes and the feeding frenzy for new information was at an all-time high. Every day, more and more articles were published.
“Obviously, I am his mother. I would never say that Armie did everything right, because he didn’t. Morally, he was wrong.
“But I do know my son was not out eating people. That I know. And Armie did not rape anybody. I knew that he was not morally right, but that was insanity.”
Dru believes the 37-year-old actor – who split from wife Elizabeth Chambers, the mother of his two children, in the wake of the allegations – took advantage of the younger women he romanced and was “in the wrong” but never felt he crossed the line.
She said: “He was in the wrong. He was the older actor and they were younger. They were influencers on Instagram or whatever. Did he take advantage of them? Absolutely. He will say so himself. Did he do anything criminal? Absolutely not. He’s been completely exonerated by the police.”
Last week, Armie appeared on the ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ show, where he insisted he had never eaten human flesh but admitted to “awkward and clumsy” rape play and having “scraped” the letter ‘A’ into Paige Lorenze’s pubic area with a knife, and his mother is “really proud” of him for speaking honestly.

The Space X founder has X Æ A-Xii, four, two-year-old Exa Dark Sideræl, aka Y, and Techno Mechanicus aka Tao, also two, with the singer – whose real name is Clare Boucher – and Sandy Garossino has made a public plea to see her grandchildren, particularly as her own mother is very ill.
She wrote on X: “Dear Elon @elonmusk It was nice seeing you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card that I helped X make. He was so proud of it.
“I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you.
“As you know, my 93 year old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care.
“She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met.
“She was thrilled for the kids’ planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today.
“But those hopes were crushed when the trip was canceled.”
Sandy accused the billionaire of keeping the children’s passports away from his former partner, and is baffled as to the current whereabouts of the younger children as Elon was seen at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday (26.07.24) only with X.
She continued: “I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire.
“It was even more troubling to see you and X on television at the Olympics in Paris yesterday, after your DC trip earlier in the week.
“Where are the other children, and with whom? They are scheduled to be with their mother.
“They were expected here in Canada.
“I write with a grandmother’s plea, asking you to honour your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes.

OHMYGOSSIP — A bikini worn by Carrie Fisher in ‘Star Wars: Episode VI Return Of The Jedi’ has sold for $175,000.
The iconic gold costume, which also included hip rings and bracelets and was worn by the late actress when her character Princess Leia was captured and chained up by Jabba the Hut, went under the hammer at Heritage Auctions in Dallas on Friday (26.07.24).
The auction also saw a miniature Y-Wing starfighter ship used in a mission to destroy the Death Star in ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’ sell for a huge $1.55 million following a bidding war.
The model was one of just two ‘hero’ Y-Wing filming miniatures built by the Industrial Light and Magic visual effects team.
Heritage auctions said on X: “It’s never seen daylight.”
The sale included lots from other movies, with a wand used by Daniel Radcliffe in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ selling for $52,000, a hammer prop used in a ‘Thor’ film changing hands for $81,000, and an outfit worn by Macauley Culkin in ‘Home Alone’ going for $47,500.
The ‘Star Wars’ costume is one of the most iconic in film history, but Carrie – who died in December 2016 – previously admitted she thought filmmaker George Lucas was “kidding” when he showed her the outfit.
She told NPR: “I felt nearly naked, which is not a style choice for me. [It made me] very nervous”.
And the costume made filming difficult.
She explained: “I had to sit very straight because I couldn’t have lines on my sides, like little creases. No creases were allowed, so I had to sit very, very rigid straight.”
But the actress enjoyed getting hands-on when it came to using the chains to kill Jabba.
She said: They asked me if I wanted my stunt double to kill him, but I wanted to.
“I sawed his neck off with that chain. I really wanted to kill him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce is trying to “get [his] body right” ahead of the new NFL season.
The 34-year-old star – who has been dating Taylor Swift since 2023 – won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in February, but Travis admits that he’s facing a race against time to be fully fit for the new season.
Speaking at a training camp ahead of the new campaign, Travis shared: “The biggest thing was getting my body right.
“Last year was pretty taxing on my body and I mean, it is what it is. I’ve had more snaps than a lot of the guys, if not anybody in the NFL, over the past five [or] six years.
“I’m very fortunate, and very prideful of that. But, I know it has taken a toll on my body, so it’s just making sure that my body’s getting that rest and that ability to train harder and be able to withstand an entire 17- to 20-game season.”
Travis has become one of the most talked-about athletes in the world since he began dating Taylor, and Patrick Mahomes, Travis’ teammate, recently claimed that Taylor has helped to make the Chiefs a “worldwide team”.

The 56-year-old singer made her long-awaited return to live performing in Paris on Friday (26.07.24), and Celine has taken to social media to express her sense of pride.
Celine – who stopped performing live after she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a progressive neurological disorder that affects her muscles – wrote on X: “Wow, what a night. Thanks to everyone at @Paris2024 , @Olympics and @Dior who helped make this dream come true. And now, it’s already time to go! I will miss you Paris! – Celine xx… (sic)”
Celine closed the ceremony with a rendition of Edith Piaf’s ‘L’Hymne à l’amour’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Hartnett won’t allow his life to be “swallowed up” by his career.
The 46-year-old actor consciously stepped back from Hollywood in order to focus on his family life, and Josh doesn’t have any regrets about his decision.
The ‘Pearl Harbor’ star – who is married to actress Tamsin Egerton – told the Observer newspaper: “I just didn’t want my life to be swallowed up by my work. And there was a notion at that time you just kind of give it all up. And you saw what happened to some people back then. They got obliterated by it. I didn’t want that for myself.”
Josh became a heartthrob in the late 90s. However, he subsequently decided to focus his efforts on independent projects.
Josh said: “Some of those films were successful. Some of them were failures. But I was always swinging for something that was outside what people expected from me.”
Earlier this year, Josh admitted that he never intended to become a “heartthrob”.
The actor told Variety: “It was never my intention to be a heartthrob.”
Josh “really wanted to be a serious actor” and so he pushed back against his sex symbol status.
The movie star explained: “I didn’t have the presence of mind to do that because I was so young. It had an effect on me, in which I had to fight against it.
“I really wanted to be a serious actor.
“What I didn’t understand is that I was in an amazing position, working with terrific directors on terrific projects.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga pre-recorded her performance for the Olympics opening ceremony due to “safety reasons”.
The 38-year-old pop star sang ‘Mon Truc En Plumes’ on a set of stairs along the Seine River in Paris – but Maud le Pladec, the choreographer of all Olympics and Paralympics ceremonies, has now revealed that the performance was pre-recorded.
Speaking to Variety, Maud explained: “Unfortunately, it was the only [performance] that, for safety reasons, we had to pre-record late in the afternoon, once we knew for sure that it was going to rain – we had minute-by-minute updates, we had never watched the weather forecast so closely in our lives.
“We assessed that it was going to be too dangerous for performers, even with a few drops of rain. [Gaga] wanted to do it absolutely so we preferred to pre-record it rather than cancel it.”
Maud explained that the performance wouldn’t have worked in the bad weather.
She said: “The soil would have been slippery. She was wearing heels, very near the water, there were stairs… We had to be extremely cautious.”
Gaga took to social media after her performance, revealing that she relished the opportunity.
She wrote on Instagram: “I feel so completely grateful to have been asked to open the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year. I am also humbled to be asked by the Olympics organizing committee to sing such a special French song—a song to honor the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theatre. This song was sung by Zizi Jeanmaire, born in Paris a French ballerina, she famously sang “Mon Truc en Plumes” in 1961. The title means “My Thing with Feathers.” And this is not the first time we’ve crossed paths. Zizi starred in Cole Porter’s musical “Anything Goes” which was my first jazz release. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lea Michele is determined to share her career successes with her children.
The 37-year-old actress – who has Ever, three, with her husband Zandy Reich and has another child on the way – loved that her son was able to watch her perform in ‘Funny Girl’.
Lea – who played Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of the musical – told PEOPLE: “I just think that for me, at the forefront of my brain is having the experience of being in ‘Funny Girl’ this past year.
“My son was able to come and see the show, and he sat through the entire show at two-and-a-half, which is pretty impressive. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.”
Lea explained that ‘Funny Girl’ was filmed for “the archives” and she loves the idea that her unborn daughter will be able to watch it one day.
She said: “Maybe my daughter will watch that show in 15 years or whatever. That would be really incredible, to say like, ‘Your brother was in the audience and he watched it.'”
Meanwhile, Lea recently revealed that her latest pregnancy experience has been “very different” to her first.
The Hollywood star said: “It was an incredibly different experience, being pregnant with Ever. We were in California, and we were in a pandemic.
“So it was a lot of just hanging out at home and very minimal activity. And now, it’s New York, it’s the busy streets. I’m working, I’m a mom, and it’s very different.”
Lea loves that she’s now able to share her pregnancy experience with her friends and family.
She explained: “None of my friends saw me pregnant, ever.
“You know, my best friend, Jonathan [Groff], never saw me pregnant. He wasn’t with me, and my dad was in New York, he was on the East Coast [during] the pandemic. So to be able to have this experience and share this time with my friends and family has been really wonderful, and not something that I got to do before.”

The 53-year-old actor starred alongside Tom, 62, in the 1996 sports-drama movie ‘Jerry Maguire’, and Jay still has fond memories of working with the Hollywood icon.
Jay – who also starred alongside the likes of Cuba Gooding Jr and Renee Zellweger – told Us Weekly: “I think Tom Cruise is the coolest person I’ve ever met.”

Speaking about her preparations for the movie and working with Tom, Hannah told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “We were in an Osprey [helicopter], we landed on a moving vessel with four and a half thousand Naval men and women on it and spent five days [aboard].
“I can’t tell you how inspired I came away by Tom and [director] Chris McQuarrie.”

The 52-year-old actress has revealed via social media that she spent more than an hour waiting to be rescued during the event.
Jennifer explained on Instagram: “Hey, guys, we’re stuck on this elevator [and] I could use a Wolverine; I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone [and] we’re looking for stairs. OK, thanks for having us here. My first Comic Con!”
Jennifer attended the event for the first time, after she starred in the new superhero movie ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’.
And in one of her Instagram updates, Jennifer joked about her own misfortune as she waited to be rescued.
The Hollywood star said: “I’m schvitzy [and] I need to blot. ‘Don’t cut the blue wire’ is what we’re hearing.
“I think I heard on an episode of ‘The Office’ or ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ or something that you’re supposed to sit, so we’re sitting.”
Jennifer revealed that the elevator lights were turned on after “about an hour” and she was subsequently rescued by a team of firefighters.

“I wrote ‘Lifetimes’ about her. Every night before we go to sleep I say, ‘I love you’, and then I ask, ‘Will you find me in every lifetime?’ and she says, ‘Yes’.”
Katy is set to release her long-awaited new album, ‘143’, in September, and she’s revealed that it’s a mix of dance music and “quintessential pop”.
The chart-topping star shared: “I always wanted to make a dance pop record.
“One third is more dance than I have ever done before. One third is quintessential pop and then one third is rhythmic.”
Katy quit her role on ‘American Idol’ in order to focus on her new album.
The pop star previously suggested that a female star should replace her on the show’s judging panel – but she argued that female stars face more scrutiny than their male counterparts.
The ‘California Gurls’ hitmaker – who starred on the hit TV show alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan – told E! News: “When you have an opinion, when you’re bold, when you’re a female, it just happens.”
Jelly Roll has been tipped to replace her on the show, but Katy insists that a female voice is necessary.
She said: “That would be too many men, let’s be honest.
“But we love Jelly Roll, and I’d love for him to be on this show whenever it’s appropriate.”
