OHMYGOSSIP — Bette Midler always knew she “was just going to make” in showbiz.
The ‘Beaches’ star had a “compulsion” to become a legend as she knew she wasn’t cut out for anything but performing after trying out other careers like working in retail before she shot to fame.
The 78-year-old actress told The Hollywood Reporter: “This kind of compulsion, a determination. I was just going to make it no matter what. In my defence, I couldn’t do anything else. I’d had jobs before and had always failed at them. When I was a salesgirl, I was completely bewildered when someone came in to return something.
“I wouldn’t understand how it was done. I worked for Western Union for months. I didn’t understand how to send a telegram.
“So, it’s not that I didn’t try to do other things, but if it didn’t try to do other things, but it didn’t have a performative aspect to it, I didn’t know how it was done. And I was terribly lucky.”
Bette — who has 37-year-old daughter Sophie with her husband of 40 years, Martin von Haselberg, 75— also explained that she knew she had “hit the big time” after her work travel arrangements became much more five-star in nature.
She said: “It wasn’t evident until I moved from nightclubs to theatres to Carnegie Hall and then to arenas. That’s when I really hit the big time, because all the travel changed. Before you were riding in a car or a truck or a bus, and the next thing you knew, you were on a private plane, after my first couple of movies in the 80s. I remember the first time my label booked me into The Connaught [the hotel in London] and the butler arrived to ask if there was anything I needed. That’s when I said, ‘Oh, this is something different.’”
The ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ hitmaker also discussed her her 1973 sold-out homecoming stadium show in her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii – which marked a decade since she graduated from high school – and explained how “fantastic” it was to have her late parents there.
Bette said: “It was absolutely fantastic. Everybody turned out. We had a luau and dancing girls, and I ate kalua pig. My old crew from high school came. My mom and dad came.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera has had to find a “balance” between her career and motherhood.
The 43-year-old pop star has Max, 15, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman as well as nine-year-old Summer with her fiancé Matt Rutler and is “proud” of the way she lived during her early days of stardom because now she can appreciate the “juxtaposition” of it all.
Speaking on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she explained: “I lived it. I wasn’t always perfect, or perfect for camera. Everyone wants to be a little bit plasticky or robotic but I’m glad that I had to eat the backlash.
“Sometimes you get things out of the system so you can make room for the peaceful chapters in your life and being able to just feel so rewarded with your children and seeing things through your children, wanting things then for them.
“It is like a place of feeling full-circle and we’re always daily still trying to figure it out and how to be the best parent representation you can. But it’s a balance of both.
“I love going home to my babies and cuddling and snuggling and watching a Disney movie and all of that. But I wouldn’t be able to feel super fulfilled if I didn’t have the juxtaposition of this. My kids love it too, I can feel that they’re proud.”
The ‘Beautiful’ songstress started her career alongside the likes of fellow singers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake on ‘The All-New Mickey Mouse Club’ in the early 19990s before breaking onto the pop scene with ‘Genie in a Bottle’ and thanked her fans for their constant support upon her debut single’s 25th anniversary.
She added: “What a sweet turnaround of events, 25 years later, to be in this petition. To be able to celebrate and have these fans. There will be surprises and big things to come to celebrate the 25th anniversary and how the fans have just been so ride-or-die for me for so long.
“It’s such a blessing to be able to do this and to share your life with people so that you’re a part of their story.”

The 40-year-old star already has Gus, three, and Ozzie, 21 months, with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, but Mandy has now admitted via social media that her latest pregnancy has been her toughest so far.
Alongside a photo of her growing baby bump, Mandy wrote on her Instagram Story: “Is it September yet? Feeling very grateful to my body AND this pregnancy has been the hardest by far…simply because chasing 2 toddlers is not for the faint of heart. (sic)”
In the photo, Mandy is wearing a skin-tight, black tank top that showed off her growing bump.
Mandy first announced her pregnancy in May.
The actress announced the news via Instagram, sharing a photo of her two sons wearing white T-shirts that read “Big” and “Middle”.
The actress – who has been married to Taylor since 2018 – captioned the snap on Instagram: “Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon. Can’t wait for these boys to have a baby sister. [heart emojis] (sic)”
Mandy’s social media post was a reference to her ‘This Is Us’ storyline, as her on-screen character was also a parent to two boys and a girl.
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty previously admitted that she’s found motherhood to be a “challenging and rewarding” experience.
The actress also confessed that motherhood has changed her entire outlook on life.
Speaking to PEOPLE back in 2021, Mandy explained: “Being a mom has certainly made me aware of how challenging and rewarding motherhood is.”
Despite this, Mandy acknowledged that she’s in a much better and more privileged position than many other mothers around the world.

The 34-year-old actor and the model have been together for years – but the celebrity duo aren’t in any rush to tie the knot.
A source told Us Weekly: “They have no plans on getting married anytime soon – and perhaps, not at all.”
Liam was previously married to Miley Cyrus between 2018 and 2020. And that experience has made the Hollywood star slightly hesitant about getting married again.
The insider added: “Liam didn’t have a good experience the first time around. And it’s not something he thinks of in a positive light.”
Miley, 31, and Liam famously fell in love on the set of the 2010 movie ‘The Last Song’.

The 47-year-old actor stars alongside Channing, 44, in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, and Ryan has taken to social media to pay a glowing tribute to his co-star, who plays Gambit in the new Marvel movie.
Ryan – who plays Deadpool in the money-spinning film franchise – wrote on X: “Imagine having a front row seat to this guy. He’s not only a once in a generation talent but a genuinely GOOD man. I know what it feels like to WILL a character into existence and Chan did just that. Then he put the most vivid/authentic version of the character onscreen. (sic)”

The 49-year-old rap star has never won a Grammy during the course of his career – but 50 has insisted that he’s not bothered about being overlooked.
The ‘Candy Shop’ hitmaker – who has sold millions of records over the years – told The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t care about them. They don’t mean anything.
“It’s an acknowledgement of the success of the project, and the excitement is to be in the room with your peers. Other than that, what is the acknowledgement? It doesn’t mean anything.
“I haven’t even seen anyone in a bad financial space where they would sell their Grammys. Then it would mean something that you received this award. It has zero value.”
Meanwhile, 50 has switched his attention towards film and TV production in recent years, and the rapper has admitted to being surprised by his own success.
The New York-born star – whose real name is Curtis Jackson – shared: “This is mirroring my music career.
“My first album turned into the largest debut in hip-hop, 13 million copies sold; the first television show that I produced became the highest-rated show on the entire network. So when that happens, the building kind of leans toward you, ‘What other ideas you got going on over there?'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Jost has been named as the host of ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!’.
The 42-year-old comedian has been announced as the host of the all-new iteration of the iconic TV game show.
In response to the news, Colin – who is married to actress Scarlett Johansson – simply said: “What is: I’m excited.”
Suzanne Prete, the president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, is thrilled to have hired Colin, observing that the comedian’s “sharp wit and intelligence epitomise ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!'”.
She added: “He’s smart and quick, like our contestants, and we know he’ll be able to keep up with them while making this new series his own.”
Lauren Anderson of Amazon MGM Studios believes Colin is perfectly suited to the role.
She said in a statement that his “wry affability and pop culture fluency make him uniquely qualified as the perfect host for this new iteration of the beloved franchise”.
The new spin-off show is said to combine “the academic rigour of ‘Jeopardy!’ with the excitement and unpredictability of pop culture”.
A statement added: “Contestants, playing in teams of three, will need to be experts in categories from Alternative Rock to The Avengers; Broadway to MMA; Gen Z to Zendaya as they compete in a tournament-style event for the grand prize and ultimate bragging rights.”
Colin is currently in Tahiti covering the suffering competition at the Paris Olympics.
And the comedian recently revealed that he injured his toes while walking barefoot around a reef.
Alongside a snap of his bandaged toes, Colin wrote on Instagram: “You know it’s going great when you’ve been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes.”

The 30-year-old comedian is taking some out of his career in order to focus on his mental wellbeing, PEOPLE reports.
Pete has always considered his mental health to be “a priority” for him and he’s now decided to check into a facility, after performing more than 200 stand-up shows across the US.
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star has also appeared in a host of big-budget movies in recent years, such as ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘The King of Staten Island’.
Pete has been very open about his sobriety journey, too, while he’s also received treatment for borderline personality disorder.
The actor – who has previously dated the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Kaia Gerber – actually underwent treatment for borderline personality disorder last year.
A source told PEOPLE at the time: “Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these issues. His friends and family have been supportive during this time.”
Meanwhile, Pete previously admitted that it feels “weird being happy”.
The Hollywood has struggled with his mental health for years, and Pete confessed that he “lived in discomfort for so long”.
The actor said on the ‘Real Ones With Jon Bernthal’ podcast: “The only thing you can control is who you have around you, what you put your energy in to, who loves you, and who you love back.

The 44-year-old actress – who has Charlie, seven, and Elsie, nine, with her ex-husband Jacob Pechenik – enjoyed spending quality time with her family during a recent trip to Europe, but Zooey has admitted that there’s a “limit” to how much she’s willing to indulge her children.
The Hollywood star – who is engaged to TV star Jonathan Scott – said on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’: “There’s a limit, for sure. It’s knowing the limit, you know. My son loves dinosaurs so the Natural History Museum is great.

The 45-year-old TV star recently entered a mental health facility and Jax has now revealed that he took the decision for the sake of his three-year-old son.
Alongside a photo of his son, Jax – who has Cruz with his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright – wrote on Instagram: “Working on getting better for you buddy, I love you (sic)”
Jax – who has been married to Brittany since 2019 – has already deleted the social media post.
But earlier this week, it was confirmed that Jax is receiving mental health treatment in rehab. The ‘Valley’ star checked in to an in-patient facility for care and support.
His representative said in a statement: “Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast.
“He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
Brittany and Jax announced their split earlier this year – but she subsequently admitted that a reconciliation remained possible.
The 35-year-old beauty – who relocated to Los Angeles following their break-up – told Us Weekly: “There’s definitely a chance. But I won’t waste my time and get back into a toxic situation.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dylan and Cole Sprouse are keen to continue working together – but they struggle to find suitable roles.
The 31-year-old actors have already enjoyed significant success while working together, but Cole feels it’s difficult to find quality parts that are suitable for real-life twins.
During an appearance on ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’, Dylan shared: “It’s usually pretty hokey. I remember Cole distinctly being kind of bitter about Tom Hardy being a twin [in 2015’s ‘Legend’]. He doesn’t like when people play two different real people.
“I looked at him, and I was like, ‘Cole, I don’t think they were looking for guys like us to play that role, anyway, if they’re hiring Tom Hardy.'”
Dylan also joked about the roles that he’d like to cast his twin in.
He said: “I thought it would be pretty funny to start casting him in roles where he gets killed in the movie a lot, the kind of ‘South Park’ Kenny.
“I thought that would be funny, where he’s on screen for five minutes and then explodes.”
The twins previously starred together on ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’, and Dylan has confessed that their off-camera relationship was tense at times.
The actor – who starred on the Disney show between 2005 and 2008 – told E! News: “We had a vicious fist fight one time. This is puberty. Brothers fight. We were like, scrapping in the back, we were taking it through the hallways, like wrestling and fighting.”
Dylan admitted that their fight featured some “WWE moves”.
He recalled: “We got a knock on the dressing room door, and the door opens and it’s a fan. She was like, ‘Hey, would you mind if I took a picture with you?’
“And Cole goes, ‘Do you want to come back in five minutes?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, sure’. She shuts the door and we both busted out laughing so hard, we didn’t even know why we were fighting. But that’s brothers for you.”

The 49-year-old star has feuded with the likes of Ja Rule, Fat Joe, and Cam’ron during the course of his career, but 50 now looks back on those situations with some regret.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the chart-topping rapper explained: “Look, I think we wasted too much time arguing, me and Fat Joe, me and Cam’ron.
“There’s other guys like Jadakiss, we cleared it up easier. But we wasted time because it was just the competitive nature. It wasn’t like we crossed paths and had real heat for each other. It went on more with Joe because he’s more like me, he’s closer in character to me.
“When we’re at odds, we are at odds, and we did that for a long time.”

However, 50 believes that hip-hop is a “competitive” genre of music and that rap feuds can actually be healthy for the culture of hip-hop.
The New York-born star – whose real name is Curtis Jackson – said: “This is hip-hop. I think it’s competitive to a degree, obviously.
“Even Drake, his position and the attitude and his choices, those are 50 Cent choices. ‘F*** it, everybody got to get it then.’ When it becomes Drake versus Kendrick, it’s because it’s the only thing you can put up against Drake’s success.”
What’s more, 50 is convinced that the feud won’t harm Drake’s album sales.
He explained: “I don’t see a loss for Drake. The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.”

The 49-year-old Hollywood actress acted as lead producer on Broadway musical ‘The Outsiders’ after Vivienne indulged her love of theatre by joining the project as a volunteer and Angelina recently admitted the teen was her toughest critic.
When asked who is the “biggest theatre head” in the family, Angelina told PEOPLE: “Viv. Definitely Viv … Hands down. She’ll correct me. She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this, we have to go through this’.
“She’s been a really tough assistant. She takes it very, very seriously.”
Angelina – who also Shiloh, 18, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Knox, 16, and Maddox, 22, with her ex-husband Brad – previously admitted Vivienne reminds her of her own mother Marcheline Bertrand.
When announcing Vivienne’s role on ‘The Outsiders’, Angelina said in a statement: “Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the centre of attention but in being a support to other creatives.

The ‘General Hospital’ actor and his spouse Vanessa – who are parents to Lucas, 21, and 18-year-old Leila – revealed on Wednesday (31.07.24), just four days after their 22nd wedding anniversary, that they have decided to “part ways” but will always be thankful for the time they spent together.
They said in a joint statement: “After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways. We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other.
“We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together.

But Cameron went ahead with Edyta and they finished in fifth place, though he acknowledged things were “really hard” on his wife back home at the time.
He said: “Vanessa was a trooper. We’d recently gone through a bunch of stuff, and it wasn’t great timing and I was off in LA spending time with this beautiful woman, dressed up, against her, sweating with her five hours a day rehearsing, and then doing all the press and touring stuff together, and it was really hard.”
