Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose agree a divorce settlement

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose have reached an agreement over their divorce settlement.
The 62-year-old star filed for a divorce from Firerose nearly three months ago, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as the reasons for their break-up.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Cyrus’ attorneys said: “This past Friday the parties reached a settlement agreement at mediation to dissolve their seven-month marriage, and the Court declared the parties divorced this morning.
“Mr. Cyrus is relieved to put this nightmare behind him.”
The attorneys noted that “a couple of weeks ago, prior to mediation, Ms. Hodges legally changed her last name from ‘Hodges’ to ‘Cyrus'”. The legal team suggested that her behaviour “validates his assertion that his ex-wife’s sole impetus for marrying him was to obtain his last name”.
By contrast, a source close to Firerose has claimed that she filed to change her last name shortly after they tied the knot.
The insider told PEOPLE: “This was not something she just did last week, especially following the ongoing smear campaign by his team.”
What’s more, the source claimed that Firerose chose to “walk away without fighting for money in order to be done with the volatile relationship and anything having to do with Billy”.
Prior to that, an insider revealed that Billy felt “happy to be out of [his] marriage”.
Friends of the musician claimed that he just wanted to “to put all the drama in the past” following their acrimonious split.
The insider told PEOPLE: “He has a good support system.
“He’s happy in Nashville and doing well. He’s with close friends and he has great contact with [his daughter] Noah. He’s happy to be out of the marriage.
“[He feels like the relationship was] all a scam and he feels lucky that he figured it all out.”

Hugh Jackman ‘approved his divorce joke’

The 55-year-old actor – who was married to actress Deborra-Lee Furness between 1996 and 2023 – reprised the role of Wolverine to star in the new superhero movie, and director Shawn Levy has now revealed that Hugh and Jennifer Garner both gave their approval to jokes about their real-life divorces.
Speaking to Variety, Shawn shared: “We never did a joke about or with anyone that we didn’t run by them first.
“Whether it was scripted, like the ‘Daredevil’ line, or unscripted, like ‘He’s normally shirtless, but he’s let himself go since the divorce,’ which was more of on-set improv, Ryan [Reynolds] or I would always run the lines by performers and make sure everyone felt comfortable and that we were never punching down.”
Shawn confirmed that Hugh and Jennifer, 52 – who was previously married to Ben Affleck – both “felt good” about including the jokes in the movie.
He said: “It was all in a playful spirit that everyone felt good about. Those lines wouldn’t be in the movie if Hugh and Jen didn’t think they were funny.”
Hugh and his ex-wife announced their split via a joint statement in 2023.
They said at the time: “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

Channing Tatum ‘is one of the kindest men in the movie business’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds believes Channing Tatum is one of the “kindest” men in Hollywood.
The 44-year-old actor stars as Gambit in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, and Ryan has taken to social media to heap praise on his co-star.
Alongside some still images from the movie, Ryan wrote on X: “Gambit is a guy Chan was born to play. His story is similar to mine in that he spent a decade trying to put the most comic-accurate version of Gambit on the big screen. Remy LeBeau is grafted to his soul and needs to come out and deal. And Gambit found his author in Chan. He’s one of the coolest, smartest characters in Comics and still largely unexplored. I want more — and from what I saw in theaters, you do too. Having the chance to say goodbye to some of these heroes is as important as having new characters to root for… and rooting for Gambit is easy. Rooting for Chan is even easier. He’s one of the greatest, hardest working, kindest people in this entire industry. I couldn’t be more thrilled to see @channingtatum pull Gambit from the dead and bring him to life at the perfect time and perfect way. #Gambit (sic)”
Meanwhile, Channing recently admitted that he owes Ryan a debt of gratitude.
The Hollywood star took to Instagram to praise his showbiz pal, thanking Ryan for believing in him.
Channing wrote on Instagram: “I sat in the audience when Ryan showed his first peek of Deadpool 1 to the world and I think I ran back stage right after and found him and I think I just hugged him and was like holy s*** you did it man. It’s perfect. I didn’t know him really at all back then. But since then I can say that there is almost no one that has had my back in this industry more than Ryan. I thought I had lost Gambit forever. But he fought for me and Gambit. I will owe him probably forever. Cause I’m not sure how I could ever do something that would be equal to what this has meant to me. I love ya buddy. (sic)”

Lily Allen considered career change after having her daughters

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen contemplated quitting music and studying to become a lawyer after having her children.
The ‘Smile’ singer – who has daughters Ethel, 12 and Marnie, 11, with ex-husband Sam Cooper – has confessed she feels “ashamed” to have not left school with any qualifications and had considered swapping her career at different times in her life.
Speaking on her ‘Miss Me?’ podcast, she said: “When people start talking about where they went to university and stuff, I do go into like a self-hatred spiral, because I’m not educated.
“And I left school when I was 15 and I don’t even have one GCSE. I have not one qualification and I’m ashamed. I’m ashamed of it.”
Her pal and co-host Miquita Oliver asked her what it would mean to her if she did get some qualifications: “I really don’t know.
“Because I think that if I had a degree, there were points — after I had kids for instance — I might not have thought I’m gonna try and re-enter music or entertainment. I might have thought, ‘I’m actually gonna go and be a lawyer.'”
Lily – who is married to ‘Stranger Things’ actor David Harbour – previously admitted she believes having children killed her music career.
She laughed as she told the ‘Radio Times Podcast’: “My children ruined my career.
“I mean, I love them, and they complete me, but in terms of, like, you know, pop stardom, totally ruined it.”
She also said she hated people using the phrase that mums can “have it all” when it comes to juggling a career with family.
Lily added: “It really annoys me when people say you can have it all because, quite frankly, you can’t.
“Some people choose their career over their children, and that’s their prerogative.
“But, you know, my parents were quite absent when I was a kid, and I feel like that really left some, like, nasty scars that I’m not willing to, you know, repeat on mine.
“And so I chose stepping back and concentrating on them, and I’m glad that I have done that because I think they’re pretty well-rounded people.”

Kit Harington misses his family after baby girl takes ‘her first steps’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington is “missing” his family after his baby girl “just took her first steps”.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actor welcomed his daughter into the world in June 2023 with wife and former co-star Rose Leslie – with whom he has a three-year-old son – and he has reflected on his life away from his work as a big screen star.
He told Extra: “My little girl just took her first steps the other day. I’m doing a play in London and I’m missing them a lot.
“I have a boy and a girl now. I couldn’t be more blessed.
“They are the most beautiful children in every single way. They are just gorgeous.”
Kit and Rose confirmed the birth of their daughter last summer but are yet to reveal the names of either of their kids.
His spokesperson simply told PageSix.com in July 2023: “They’re delighted to have welcomed a little girl into the family.”
The ‘Eternals’ actor admitted in March he and Rose had been more “practical” with her second pregnancy, whereas they took a more “romantic” view of parenthood when they were expecting their son.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “We’re really practical about it at the moment. And actually, almost too practical.
“With our first child there was so, sort of romantic, for one of a better word, and this other one we’re like, ‘Right, okay, let’s get.’ We know how efficient we have to be. Let’s get down to parenting.
“My mum says that she never remembers us being little kids or the early parenting much, because you’re so present in it. And I think that’s what kids allow you to be, is incredibly present in the moment, ’cause you’ve got no choice.”
The ‘Extrapolations’ actor joked his son is going to get the “shock of his life” when there’s a new baby in the house but he thinks the tot will eventually make a “great older brother”.
He said: “I don’t know if he’s really conceptually understood anything yet. He’s about to get the shock of his life.
“He’s just loving life. My boy loves life. He charges around, and I think he’s going to be a great older brother. It’s just really exciting.”

Jessica Simpson rejects idea she is drinking again after ‘misunderstanding’ with fan

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Simpson has rejected claims she is drinking again after a sweet post about her son Ace.
The 44-year-old star – who has been alcohol-free for almost seven years – has rubbished the idea she has broken her sobriety after revealing her and her 11-year-old boy’s love for scratch card lottery tickets in a lighthearted Instagram post.
After a fan urged her to “stop drinking”, she replied: “I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I’ve made for myself and for my family.
“Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way.”
Her follower quickly apologised for their “misunderstanding”, adding that they were “so happy to hear that” she is doing well.
In her original caption, Jessica described her boy as “the kindest, most handsome” 11-year-old son in the world.
She wrote: “I’m gonna be a braggin’ Mom for a moment and just say that I have the kindest, most handsome 11yr old son on the planet.
“Fun fact: we both find lucky pennies randomly every other week and use them to WIN my scratchers together. Mama loves you Ace Knute Johnson- OH SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!”
As well as Ace, Jessica and her husband Eric Johnson also have Maxwell, 12, and five-year-old Birdie together.
She previously revealed in her memoir ‘Open Book’ that she has been sober since October 2017, and last year she admitted she doesn’t even recognise her old self.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t even know that person.
“That person was not feeling. Now I’m in the world of just feeling everything and, no matter what, even if it’s a sad emotion, I get through it quicker and I don’t hold on to it. So for me, eliminating alcohol was like eliminating fear.”
In her memoir, she insisted she was risking her own life “with all the drinking and pills”, and taking the decision to stop was “easy”, even if therapy was more of a struggle.
She wrote in ‘Open Book’: “Giving up the alcohol was easy. I was mad at that bottle. At how it allowed me to stay complacent and numb.”

Serena Williams left disgruntled after being told there was no room for her at Paris restaurant

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams claimed she was “denied access” to a rooftop restaurant during the Paris Olympics.

Responding on their own page on the social media app, The Peninsula wrote: “Dear Mrs Williams.
“Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you encountered tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.”

And it wasn’t even that serious, but it was like I used that and I made it way more serious than what it was. So, when he ghosted me, I used that as an opportunity to say, ‘He’s gonna regret this for the rest of his life.’ That was just the motivation I needed, just the excuse I used to go the extra mile.”
Serena – who is now married to Alexis Ohanian and has Olympia, six, and Adira,12 months, with him – retired from the tennis court in 2022 but admitted that she wanted to make sure that the person who abandoned her would “never forget” her as she cemented her rise to global fame and wanted to be around in their life forever through her celebrity status.

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Young’s brother confronted him about fame turning him into a “machine”.

“I think I was so focused in my head. I was like, ‘You’ve got to get through these five years to have a career’.

“It was difficult, but it is amazing what we do out of love for people. I just didn’t want my brother to die. In the end I didn’t manage to keep him alive, and that is part of my grief process.”
