I’m a very shy person, says Blake Lively

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively is a “very shy person”.
The 36-year-old actress enjoys her day job because she’s “playing a character” – but Blake admits she doesn’t enjoy doing photo shoots and other promotional work.
The blonde beauty – who is married to actor Ryan Reynolds – told Vogue magazine: “I’m a very shy person, so I don’t like doing photo shoots, really. Because when I’m acting, I’m playing a character. And I don’t … I don’t feel super comfortable in front of a camera. It’s part of why I don’t want to be in magazines.”
Despite this, Hugh Jackman – Blake’s showbiz pal – considers the actress and Ryan to be “megawatt stars”.
The 55-year-old actor – who stars alongside Ryan in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ – explained: “These are like old-school megawatt stars … and of course I’ve spent many hours with them, like in pyjamas just hanging out in their house with their nine hundred children and dogs and it is just as normal as can be, and Blake will be baking and cooking and saying, ‘Let’s make pizza,’ and then the next thing you turn around and there she is, this incredible star.
“It’s … it’s astonishing to me.”
Earlier this week, Blake revealed that Ryan sent her a bouquet of flowers once a week while they were dating.
The Hollywood star told PEOPLE: “When my husband and I first got together, he would send me a bouquet of flowers every week, but he would always send a card and it would just be a sentence of something that had happened that week. Something funny or emotional that one of us said.
“It was just a little quote of the week. It was such a beautiful, romantic thing.”

Drake confirms Serena Williams speculation as he makes song confession

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has finally confirmed his 2016 song ‘Too Good’ was inspired by his ex-girlfriend Serena Williams.
The 37-year-old rapper was previously romantically linked to the tennis superstar from around 2010 to 2015, and he has now told how his and Rihanna’s 2016 tune is about him and the 42-year-old star.
Drake has released some archival footage, and in one video he is seen chatting to his mother Sandi Graham in a recording studio, when he confirms ‘Too Good’ is about Serena.
When Sandi asks Drake about referring to his past romances in tunes, he said: “I get heavy on a couple joints, but this is more about me and Serena.”
Sandi replied: “I gathered that.”
Drake insisted to his mother that Serena wouldn’t “hate” him for the song – which is about being “too good” for a lover – because it was “light-hearted”.
He said: “When I make songs about women, I also make songs for them so I know what kind of song to make.
“If I’m gonna talk about them, I’ll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they like, OK?
“I know Serena very well, and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear, but she’ll also not hate me for it because it’s light-hearted.”
Drake’s mother then reminded her son that Serena is “seeing someone else”, to which he jokingly said: “I don’t know, mom.”
Sandi’s reference is likely to be a nod to Serena’s now-husband Alexis Ohanian.
She started dating the 41-year-old entrepreneur in 2015, and they married in 2017.
The couple have daughters Olympia, six, and Adira, 11 months, together.
Drake was previously a regular at Serena’s tennis matches, and in 2011, he tweeted her: “@SerenaWilliams I cannot wait to put it on you and make you sweat….. during our match this weekend.”

Nelly arrested on ‘suspected drug possession’ but lawyer ‘confident case will go nowhere’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nelly was arrested in connection with suspected drug possession on Wednesday (07.08.24) – but his lawyer has claimed he was “targeted by an overzealous, out of line officer” and is “confident this case will go nowhere”.
The 49-year-old rapper was detained in Maryland Heights, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, after he was cited for driving without insurance, which led to the alleged discovery of ecstasy.
He was taken into custody at 4.45am, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s arrest report.
However, the ‘Hot in Herre’ hitmaker’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, told the DailyMail.com that his client “was not charged with drug possession”, and confirmed he was arrested for no proof of insurance, from 2018 on a warrant issued [in] December 2023.
Rosenblum claims Nelly – whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. – had received “no notice” about the warrant, and alleged he was “targeted by an overzealous, out of line officer”.
Nelly had been spending the evening at the Hollywood Casino and Hotel, which is based in the St. Louis suburb, where he won “several jackpots”.
Rosenblum has claimed the police officer who arrested his client “felt compelled to needlessly run a check for warrants” rather than “supervising the transfer of winnings”, and the officer then “conducted a search without probable cause where he claimed to have found alleged ecstasy in [Nelly’s] personal property”.
The lawyer added in a statement: “Under similar circumstances, assuming there was an old warrant without any notice to the individual for no proof of insurance, any other citizen would have been told to address it and allowed to go on their way.
“It is also important to note that Mr. Haynes, as part of the requirements to travel internationally, is regularly asked to supply proof of no warrants. Including FBI checks. There were none.
“I am 100 per cent confident this case will go nowhere. And we will be asking for an inquiry into this officer’s conduct.”
In June, it was revealed Nelly and singer-songwriter Ashanti, 43, had been married for months.
The couple rekindled their romance in 2023 after over a decade apart and in April, the pair revealed they were engaged and expecting their first child together, but it has since emerged they actually tied the knot long before they made the announcement.

Nina Dobrev shares update on her recovery since bike crash left her with a fractured knee

OHMYGOSSIP — Nina Dobrev is “doing pretty well” since her dirt bike accident but still has a “way” to go.
The 35-year-old actress – who is best known for starring as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ – sustained a number of injuries including a fractured knee, as well as damage to her ACL and meniscus amid the crash in May but “surprised” doctors at how quickly she has made progress in her recovery.
She told People: “I think I’m doing pretty well. Doctors were pretty surprised. I’m a little ahead of schedule in terms of healing, but it is still a very long process.
“I didn’t realise it meant nine months to a year of recovery. So I’m only on month, maybe three and a half now.
“So there’s still a ways to go. And a lot of times at this point in the healing process, people get re-injured because they feel fine. And so they start doing normal things. So I have to kind of remind myself that I’m still healing and there’s still a little bit of time to go.”
The ‘Vampire Diaries’ star first told her 26 million followers of her incident in May, where she reassure fans that she was “doing okay” but had a “long way” to go in terms of recovery.
Alongside a photograph of herself in a hospital bed last month, she wrote on Instagram: “I’m OK but it’s going to be a long road of recovery ahead.”
In another post, Nina joked: “How it’s started…how it’s going” as she posted an image of herself on the bike before the crash and then a picture of the aftermath.
The actress has been dating Olympian Shaun White for four years now but it doesn’t seem that he was present at the scene of the accident.

Kevin Hart speaks out on Michael Jordan feud

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart has insisted his Michael Jordan feud came from a joke that was meant to be “all in fun”.
The 45-year-old comedian made a joke aimed at former professional basketball player Michael, 61, during a stand-up routine and later claimed the sports star had “had an attitude” about it but has now insisted that everything was done in good humour.
He told US TV show ‘Extra’ when asked about the feud: “Comedy is comedy… It’s all jokes, it’s all in fun.”
The ‘Night School’ star recently noted that he didn’t “care” about what Michael thought about him because he was old enough to
Speaking on the ‘YeeTea’ YouTube series, he said: “I don’t give a s***! I could care less. I can f****** care less. I’m at a point in my life where it’s very hard to bother me. I’m 45 years old and it’s not about the progression of life. You get to the point where little things don’t matter. I’m not the same person I once was.”
Kevin recently explained that the feud with the NBA star was all ignited when he did a set for him at a special event and picked up on him entering the room late.
He told the audience during a gig : “Michael’s had an attitude with me for years because I hosted a celebrity event for him and he came in late. I saw him coming in late [and] I hit him with [a joke]. It was quick. It was all in fun. I don’t know where it came from, “I just hit him with a quick one!”
Kevin – whose joke initially centred on the height of Michael’s trousers – made the gag almost a decade ago but the tension is still apparent and he previously insisted that he couldn’t be the only one who had noticed the humour in the situation.
Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel, Live!’, he said: “I was like, ‘Man, what age do you get to where it’s OK to wear your pants that high and nobody addresses it?’. “‘You’re telling me I’m the only one that thinks Mike’s pants are past the legal limit for waist?”

Cate Blanchett ‘didn’t get paid anything’ for Lord of the Rings

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett has claimed that “no one got paid anything” for ‘Lord of the Rings’.
The 55-year-old actress starred as Galadriel in the big-screen adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic novel series but when it was suggested that move was her “biggest” paycheque to date, she insisted that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Speaking on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, she told host Andy Cohen: “Are you kidding me? No, no one got paid anything to do that movie.”
Andy then asked the Oscar-winning star if she received a piece of the back-end – a term meaning that actors receive a percentage of box office profits upon the film’s release – and insisted that that was not the case either, as she insisted her only motivation to do the film was to work with director Peter Jackson.
She said: “No, that was way before any of that … no, nothing.I wanted to work with the guy who made ‘Braindead’. I mean, I basically got free sandwiches and I got to keep my [prosthetic] ears. No, no one got paid anything!”
The ‘Tar’ actress – who has a reported net worth of net worth of $95 million – was then asked to name what her biggest paycheque to date was, but remained coy and insisted only that women tend not to make the huge sums of money within the entertainment industry that may be expected or assumed by the masses.
She added: “Well, not very often. Women don’t get paid as much as you think they do.”
Earlier this year, Cate was participating in a United Nations press conference during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival when she described herself as a “middle-class” woman with a vested interest in helping others.
When asked about her experience as a UN goodwill ambassador and giving refugee filmmakers a platform, she said: “I’m white, I’m privileged, I’m middle class, and I think, you know, one can be accused of having a bit of a white saviour complex, but to be perfectly honest, my interaction with the refugees in the field and also in resettled environments has totally changed my perspective on the world.”

Woody Harrelson had naked snowboarding day with RHCP’s Flea

OHMYGOSSIP — Woody Harrelson went snowboarding naked with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.
The 63-year-old actor has had some of his “greatest times” with the rocker, but while the ‘Californication’ hitmaker was keen to share footage of their memorable trip with the world via Instagram, the ‘True Detective’ star’s spouse Laura “cautioned [him] against it”.
Appearing on Woody and Ted Danson’s podcast, ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’, Flea laughed: “I have footage of Woody Harrelson and I snowboarding stark naked down a big snowy mountain.”
Woody agreed: “It’s actually great footage.
“I just gotta say the greatest times I’ve had with you.”
He then told Ted: “[Flea is] very zen, but he also is competitive.”
Flea agreed but insisted that “unlike” his pal, he “doesn’t really mind” if he wins or loses.
The pair then recalled another day of “chaos” on the slopes, where a race led to them getting into a fight with a skier.
Flea said: “I remember one of the last times we went, we were racing, and we were both reckless because, let’s face it, we go very fast, but we’re very average snowboarders. We have to admit that we’re average.”
Woody quipped: “Slightly above average.”
The 61-year-old musician explained he was “out of control rocketing down this mountain” and almost hit a woman he didn’t see coming.
He continued: “She swerved out of her way, and I miss her — all’s good.
“We’re racing. I can’t remember who won, probably me. And we get down there, and we’re getting ready to get on the lift and we’re laughing and yelling at each other, and this lady comes up, and she’s infuriated.”
Despite offering a genuine apology, the woman continued shouting.
Flea recalled: “Then she takes her ski pole and sticks it in my face. And then at this point, I’m like, ‘Look, I’m f****** sorry, but get your f****** pole out of my face.’
“And then Woody comes up and he just sees her pole in my face and he comes to my defense like a good friend.
“And then she goes, ‘Well, my husband’s gonna come down here and he’s gonna show you what for.’ ”
The former ‘Cheers’ star then stepped into the row and encouraged the woman to get her husband, but when the man got there, Flea felt it was time to exit the situation – but his friend didn’t agree.
He said: “You and I get on the lift but you’re just itching for a brawl and you start yelling, ‘I’m waiting at the top of the lift. I’ll be waiting at the top.’
“And then you tell me, you’re like, ‘Nothing can make me happier. Nothing can make me happier than that f****** guy coming up there.’
“And I realised there’s a joy that you take in impending chaos.”
The ‘Natural Born Killers’ star admitted he used to embrace drama but has “outgrown” it these days.
He said: “That’s not like me anymore.”

‘I’d struggle’: Why Steve Martin turned down SNL approach to play Tim Walz

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Martin has turned down the chance to play Tim Walz on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
The ‘Only Murders in the Building’ actor – who has hosted the NBC sketch show 16 times over the years – has confirmed showrunner Lorne Michaels approached him about portraying the politician after Kamala Harris named him her running mate for the upcoming presidential election, but he insisted he isn’t a good enough impressionist and would only have been chosen because of his physical similarities to the Minnesota governor.
He told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “I wanted to say no and, by the way, he wanted me to say no.
“I said, ‘Lorne, I’m not an impressionist. You need someone who can really nail the guy.’ I was picked because I have gray hair and glasses.”
And the 78-year-old star was reluctant to take on the role because he knows he could end up tied to the show for years to come.
He said: “It’s ongoing. It’s not like you do it once and get applause and never do it again. Again, they need a real impressionist to do that.
“They’re gonna find somebody really, really good. I’d be struggling.”
Steve had previously joked about his resemblance to Tim and the online suggestions he play him on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
Referring to the comedy tour he and Martin Short are embarking on next month, he wrote on Threads earlier this week: “I just learned that Tim Walz wants to go on the road with Marty Short.”
Maya Rudolph is to reprise her portrayal of current Vice President Kamala for the election campaign, having first played her on the show in 2019 during the Democratic presidential primaries and again when she was officially appointed current president Joe Biden’s running mate.
Alec Baldwin previously spent years playing Donald Trump after taking on the role of the former ‘Apprentice’ star before the 2016 election.

Jamie Lee Curtis opens up on reuniting with Lindsay Lohan: ‘It’s crazy…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis finds it “crazy” that Lindsay Lohan is now an adult.
The 65-year-old actress starred alongside Lindsay, now 36, – who is married to Bader Shammas and has Luai, 13 months, with him – in the 2004 Disney bodyswap comedy ‘Freaky Friday’ and now that the pair have reunited for a sequel, she has admitted that that it is “insane” to think how her on-screen daughter is now grown up.
She told US TV show ‘Extra’: “She’s grown up. She’s had a baby of her own… She’s 38 years old. I mean, how crazy is that? She was 15 when we made the movie. I mean, it’s insane.”
The ‘My Girl’ star noted that she and Lindsay “fell right back” into playing mother and daughter on set and explained that the project has only come to fruition because of the “huge fan base” that the first movie has.
She said: “Lindsay and I fell right back into it, she’s a mommy now, I’m a grandma. I’m not a real grandma, but I play a grandma in the movie. It has a huge fanbase. The reason we made the movie is because I went around the world for ‘Halloween’ and I came back and called [Disney CEO] Bob Iger and said ‘Bob, everywhere I went in the world, all they really wanted to know if there was going to be a sequel to ‘Freaky Friday’, and guess what? It’s happening!”
In ‘Freaky Friday’ – which was a remake of the 1978 film starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris – Jamie Lee played psychologist Dr. Tess Coleman who switches places with her teenage daughter Anna (Lohan), who is an aspiring rock star who often clashes with her mother.
Following the success of the film, Lindsay went on to star in high school comedy ‘Mean Girls’, then ‘Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen’ and ‘Just My Luck’ but endured a number of personal problems in the years that followed and only returned to the film scene in 2022 with ‘Falling For Christmas’.

Emotional Colin Farrell recalls son’s first steps

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Farrell cried when his son took his first steps.
The 48-year-old actor’s eldest child James, now 20, suffers from Angelman syndrome – a rare genetic disorder which involves delayed development – and he will “never forget” when the boy walked unaided for the first time, two weeks before his fourth birthday.
Colin recalled to People magazine: “[His occupational therapist said] ‘James has something to show you.’
“I knew they were working on walking. And I stood over there, and she let him go, and he just came to… I mean, it was so profound. It was magic.
“I’ll never forget just the face of determination on him as he walked toward me. He took like six steps, and I burst into tears.”
The ‘Lobster’ star told how a lot of families with children who have Angelman syndrome are told their kids may never walk.
He added: “So to see those first steps was just . . . I’ll never forget it. It was so overwhelmingly beautiful.”
Colin praised James – who is non-verbal – for having “worked so hard all his life, so hard” and he feels proud of his son’s achievements every day.
He said: “Repetition, repetition, balance, his jerky gait.
“When he started feeding himself for the first time, his face looks like a Jackson Pollock by the end of it. But he gets it in, he feeds himself beautifully.
“I’m proud of him every day because I just think he’s magic.”
The ‘Banshees of Inisherin’ actor – who has James with Kim Bordenave and 14-year-old Henry with actress Alicja Bachleda-Curus – told how his son’s condition was initially misdiagnosed after he failed to hit developmental milestones.
He said: “He couldn’t sit up. He wasn’t crawling. I think he was a year and a half when we took him to get really checked out, and he was diagnosed as having cerebral palsy.
“It was a common misdiagnosis because it shared a lot of the same characteristics.”
The Irish star is now launching the Colin Farrell Foundation – which will help young adults with intellectual disabilities through advocacy, education and innovative schemes – and he knows it is what his son would want him to do.
He said: “I have to make a call based on knowing James’ spirit and what kind of young man he is and the goodness that he has in his heart.
“I choose to believe that if he knew us doing this could help families and other young adults who live with special needs, he would say, ‘Dad, what are you talking about? Why are you even asking me? It’s a no-brainer.”

Sally Field shares poignant story about her Mrs Doubtfire co-star Robin Williams for the first time

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Field has remembered Robin Williams as being a “very sensitive and intuitive” person.
The 77-year-old actress was filming the 1993 comedy ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ alongside Robin – who took his own life August 2014 at the age of 63 – when she received the news that her father had died and recalled how her co-star made arrangements so she could leave the set.
She told Vanity Fair: “I never shared this story before. I was in the camper outside of the courtroom where we were shooting the divorce scene. My father had a stroke a couple of years before, and was in a nursing facility. I got a phone call from the doctor saying my father had passed — a massive stroke. He asked if I wanted them to put him on the resuscitator. I said, ‘No, he did not want that. Just let him go. And please lean down and say, ‘Sally says goodbye.’
“I was of course beside myself. I came on the set trying with all my might to act. I wasn’t crying. Robin came over, pulled me out of the set, and asked, ‘Are you OK?’
“[I told him and] he said ‘Oh my God, we need to get you out here right now…’ And he made it happen — they shot around me the rest of the day. I could go back to my house, call my brother and make arrangements. It’s a side of Robin that people rarely knew: He was very sensitive and intuitive.”
The Academy Award-winning star previously admitted that she “hates” that her co-star is no longer here and wanted him to be able to “grow old” like her.
She told People: “What you think about immediately is Robin. There isn’t a moment of it that’s not filled with my love and joy at being in his presence. I mean, Robin was Robin. He was everything he seemed to be: a generous, loving, sweet, genuinely talented man. We all miss him. He should be growing old like me, for God’s sake. I hate it that he isn’t here.”

Steve Burton moves on

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Burton has found love again.
The ‘General Hospital’ actor split from wife Sheree Gustin after over 20 years of marriage in June 2022 after she got pregnant by another man, and he’s now found happiness with chef Michelle Lundstrom.
Steve shared a photo of them embracing on his Instagram Story and wrote: “When you find someone who feels like home. Unpack.”
It seems the couple have been dating for a few months but have managed to keep their romance under the radar.
They stepped out together at the Daytime Emmy Awards in June, with the ‘Barbecue Showdown 2’ contestant sharing some photos of their “first red carpet together” on Instagram.
She gushed in the caption: “Our first red carpet together. It was a dream of a night from beginning to end. Thank you for all the beautiful kind comments + messages. I’m truly grateful [heart and prayer emoji] (sic)”
Later that month, Michelle, 43, shared a reel of her favourite times with Steve in honour of the soap star’s 54th birthday.
She wrote: “Happiest birthday my love @1steveburton It’s a better place with you in this world. Anyone that has you in their life in any capacity is truly blessed.
“I think I’ll forever be in awe of what an incredible man and human you are. Thank you for wearing the largest fanny pack in Disney + sharing your beautiful life alongside mine. Wishing you a million more special memories smiles, you deserve it all!”
Steve and Sheree – who have Mackena, 20, Jack, 18, and 10-year-old Brooklyn together – finalised their divorce in December 2023.
They agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their younger children, with Steve agreeing to pay Sheree $12,500 a month in child support, which works out as $10,000 for Brooklyn – until she turns 18 – and $2,500 for Jack.
In April, Steve’s payments were reduced to $10,000 a month after Jack turned 18.
The former couple waived their right to spousal support “now or at any time in the future, regardless of the unforeseen circumstances that may exist in the future”.
But Steve is paying Sheree $50,000, in $2,500 per month instalments, as retroactive support.

Colman Domingo thrilled to be a heartthrob in his 50s

OHMYGOSSIP — Colman Domingo is thrilled ‘Euphoria’ has made him a heartthrob in his 50s.
The 54-year-old actor – who has been married to Raúl Domingo since 2014 – portrays Ali, Rue’s sponsor, on the HBO drama series and he finds the fan response to his character “incredible”, because while some of them see him as an older mentor figure, he joked he’s delighted he’s a pin-up to some too.
Colman told SiriusXM’s ‘The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw’: “It’s really kind of incredible. They’re like, ‘Oh my god, Ali!’
“And usually what’s so sweet, they look at me and they want me to be their big brother, their father figure, their counsellor or something…
“I was literally driving down the 405 in LA and a group of young girls kept looking at me and my husband was like, ‘Those girls are looking at you. Is something wrong?’ ‘I don’t know,’ but they kept looking and then eventually, I waved, and then I literally heard [screams].
“So I’m a 54-year-old heartthrob as well.
“It’s happened. I never knew it would happen, but it’s happened at the ripe old age of 54. Listen, as long as it happened at some point in my life, right?”
The ‘Rustin’ star previously admitted he used to be “insecure about everything” but has grown to embrace the things he disliked about himself and thinks that has made him “more beautiful”.
He told America’s Vanity Fair magazine: “I was insecure about everything—I don’t think even about being queer. I was insecure about being tall, my nose, my body—I was very skinny. At some point you make agreements and you’re like, Well, this is mine. I guess if I don’t love it, nobody else will.
“And so I started to take steps to love it and understand what I’m working with. And I think that that’s where you find all that inner light and inner beauty. And then I think you become, I guess, more beautiful.”

Sir Rod Stewart ‘gutted’ to cancel 200th residency show

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart was “absolutely gutted” to cancel his 200th residency show due to illness on Wednesday (07.08.24).
The 79-year-old rocker has been performing his ‘Rod Stewart: The Hits’ concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace since 2011 but was forced to pull out of the milestone gig just hours before he was due on stage after contracting strep throat, a bacterial infection.
Rod wrote on Instagram: “I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration.
“Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long.
“My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we’ll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.”
The concert had been due to be the final night of the lengthy residency, but shortly before it was cancelled, the ‘Maggie May’ hitmaker announced a string of new dates for next spring.
He wrote on social media: “Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!
“Don’t miss The Encore Shows Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace March 12-22 May 29-June 8! Tickets on sale Monday at 10amPT!(sic)”
Rod turns 80 in January, and while he recently acknowledged his “days are numbered”, he pledged to continue enjoying life as much as possible.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”
And though the ‘You Wear It Well’ singer can’t party like he used to, he admitted he still enjoys plenty of wild nights out with his band.
He said: “I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that. Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
“The older you get, the more you have to do that. Water has a hell of a lot to do with it. But no, you think I just have water on my rider?
“You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.
“Before the show I have a quick Bacardi which I am trying to convince myself is good for my voice.
“After a show we all get stuck into the Martinis. Most bands all go home and go to bed but we don’t. We have a big old party.”

Elle King turned to ‘different type of therapeutic programme’ after controversial Dolly Parton show

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle King underwent a “different kind of therapeutic programme” after her infamous Dolly Parton performance.
The 35-year-old singer took to the stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee earlier this year for a show to honour the country music legend’s 78th birthday but she shocked the crowd by swearing, slurring her words and declaring she was “hammered”, and she’s now reflected on how the show came at a time she felt “very sad”.
Speaking on the ‘Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristow’ podcast, Elle said: “After everything that happened in January, I went to a different type of therapeutic programme.
“I was very sad, and nobody really knows what I was going through behind closed doors. I just took that as like ‘A. If it wasn’t this it was going to be something else and B. I had to heal and deal and go through things.'”
The ‘Ex’s + Oh’s’ hitmaker spoke to someone at the time who promised her the incident would have a silver lining, but it’s only looking back now she realises it was a catalyst for positive change and “growth”.
She said: “I couldn’t go on living my life, or even staying in the situation that I had been going through.
“I couldn’t continue to be existing in that high level of pain that I was going through at the time.
“I feel like Dolly Parton, she just delivered me this opportunity for growth.”
Elle spoke out about the January performance in May, and she explained she wanted to wait to address what happened until she was in a better place.
She said: “I waited to talk about everything until I had better footing. Because I was not OK.
“If anything, I’m much more me now than I have been in the last 20 years.”
