Liza Minnelli releasing memoir

OHMYGOSSIP — Liza Minnelli is publishing a memoir because she’s “mad as hell” that previous documentaries about her”didn’t get it right”.
The 78-year-old performer – daughter of screen legend Judy Garland – is lifting the lid on her life in a new book after signing a deal with Grand Central Publishing and Liza has revealed she wanted to put pen to paper to correct a number of inaccuracies.
In a statement given to PEOPLE, Liza said she had been turning down book offers for years: “Since I was old enough to put pencil to paper, people asked me to write books about my career. ‘Absolutely not! Tell it when I’m gone!’ Was my philosophy.”
However, the stage veteran admitted a “series of unfortunate events” changed her mind about detailing her “life, loves and family” in a book.
She explained those events included “a sabotaged appearance at the Oscars … a film with twisted half-truths … [and] a recent miniseries that just didn’t get it right … All made by people who didn’t know my family, and don’t really know me.”
She added: “Finally, I was mad as hell! Over dinner one night, I decided, it’s my own … story … I’m gonna share it with you because of all the love you’ve given me.”
The book will be written in conjunction with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Heidi Evans and journalist Josh Getlin and it will detail her childhood growing up as Judy Garland’s daughter, her rise to fame in ‘Cabaret’ as well as her four marriages and battle with substance abuse issues.
It’s due for release in spring 2026.
Liza concluded her statement by assuring her fans she’s in a good place after some troubled times, adding: “After incredible events and life-threatening battles … I am truly ‘Lady Peaceful, Lady Happy.’
“Thank you all for loving me so much … being concerned about me. I want you to know I’m still here, still kicking a**, still loving life and still creating. So, until this book arrives, know that I’m laughing, safe in every way, surrounded by loved ones and excited to see what’s right around the curve of life. Kids, wait ‘til you hear this.”
Liza’s longtime pal Michael Feinstein – who will also help her with the book – previously opened up about the star’s appearance on stage at the Oscars in 2022 when she was invited to announce the best picture prize alongside pop star Lady Gaga.
Liza was brought on stage in a wheelchair and Michael insisted she was furious about it. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s ‘The Jess Cagle Show’, he explained: “She only agreed to appear at the Oscars if she would be in a director’s chair, because she’s been having back trouble.
“She said, ‘I don’t want people to see me limping out there.’ She said, ‘You know, I want to look good. I don’t want people to worry about me’.”
However, the plan was changed with just minutes to spare. He went on to add: “The stage manager said, ‘Well, she has to be in a wheelchair’ and Liza pleaded. She said, ‘No, I will not be seen in a wheelchair in front of everybody. I will not do this. I refused to do this’. And they said, ‘Well, it’s either that or nothing’ …
“She was nervous and it made her look like she was out of it. Can you imagine being suddenly forced to be seen by millions of people the way you don’t want to be seen? That’s what happened to her.”

Ryan Reynolds sent Blake Lively flowers once a week

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds sent Blake Lively a bouquet of flowers once a week while they were dating and signed the card with a “little quote”.

“It was just a little quote of the week. It was such a beautiful, romantic thing. Now we have 4,000 children!”
It comes after Blake revealed Ryan’s “sweet” nickname for her – explaining he calls her his “knight in shining armour”.
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ star explained she appreciates the nod from her husband because it reverses gender stereotypes.
She told The Sun newspaper: “My husband calls me his knight in shining armour, which I think is so sweet, because we only hear about men being that.” Blake went on to reveal the relationship works because the couple has learnt to prioritise each other. She added: “[We] made a rule not to work at the same time … [to] prioritise [our] personal life”.
The couple met on the set of their film ‘The Green Lantern’ and Ryan revealed they were friends for some time before they started dating.
During an appearance on a SiriusXM special in 2016, he told host Jess Cagle: “We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends …
“About a year after ‘Green Lantern’ had come and gone and we were both single, we went on a double date – she was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl – and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across.”

Colin Farrell gave up booze for his son

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Farrell gave up booze after he discovered his son James had special needs.
The 48-year-old Hollywood actor became a father for the first time in 2003 when he welcomed James with model Kim Bordenave, but they were dealt a massive blow when the youngster was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome – a rare genetic disorder which involves delayed development – and Colin decided to put his wild ways behind him and sober up for the sake of his little boy.
He told PEOPLE magazine: “[I’m most grateful for] my sobriety, everything is magnified when you have a child with special needs, you’re even more aware that your child really needs you around and is going to need a lot of help and a lot of support.
“So James was about two when I got clean, when I got sober and he was a big big part of me putting the bottle down, a big part of it.
“Because I was in no condition to be a friend never mind the father of a child which such exacting needs. So if it wasn’t for my sobriety, I wouldn’t be able to be there for James and enjoy in the marvels of his life and support him in the way that I feel that can … ”
Colin – who also has a younger son Henry with actress Alicja Bachleda-Curus – added: “I don’t want to make out like I”m the perfect dad, I f*** up left, right and centre but at least you have to be present to f*** up so I’m around, but yeah they’re very conjoined – my sobriety and my children … ”
The actor has opened up about being father to a son with special needs in the new interview with PEOPLE and revealed he’s starting a charity to help young adults with special needs as James prepares to celebrate his 21st birthday in October.
He explained of the decision: “Once your child turns 21, they’re kind of on their own. All the safeguards that are put in place, special ed classes, that all goes away, so you’re left with a young adult who should be an integrated part of our modern society and more often than not is left behind.”
The Colin Farrell Foundation will help young adults with intellectual disabilities through advocacy, education and innovative programs.
Colin went on to reveal James lives at home with him with the help of full-time carers and he is a “happy young man”.
He added: “We hang out, we play ball, swim in the pool, he loves movies … go out and get a cheeseburger … He spends a lot of time with his partner in crime, his carer …
“I’ve had live-in care so I can move freely and work and it’s been great for James as it gives him that autonomy … He has a good life, he’s a happy young man… I’m proud of him every day.”

“But now we have a dyslexic kid and she’s doing the same thing, and her memory is absolutely amazing.”
The actress did not reveal which of her daughters has the condition, but she insisted the youngster has been blessed with an excellent memory, adding: “She’ll look at books and would have memorised the book and it’s amazing.”
Keira and James married in France in 2013 and their daughters were born in 2015 and 2019.
The screen star previously opened up about the difficulties of motherhood revealing she still struggled in the early days despite being able to afford “good childcare”.

“I come from a place of amazing privilege. I have an incredible support system; I’ve been unbelievably lucky in my career; I can afford good childcare, and yet I still find it really f****** difficult … [But it] doesn’t mean I don’t love my kid …
“It’s okay to say that. It’s just me admitting that the sleep deprivation, the hormonal changes, the shift in relationship with my partner, are all things that make me feel as if I’m failing on a daily basis.”

Katie Price has no fear of bankruptcy

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price no longer has any fear of bankruptcy after going through the process twice.
The 46-year-old former glamour model was first declared bankrupt in 2019 with debts of £3.5 million and she went through the same again in March 2024 after she was accused of failing to pay a £750,000 tax bill.
However, Katie is adamant she’s no longer afraid of losing everything because she knows she will find a way to bounce back. In her latest book ‘This Is Me’, she explained: “Bankruptcy doesn’t hold the same fear now I can see a way out of it. If material stuff is taken from me, I know I can earn it back. ”
Katie went on to insist she would do anything to earn a living and would even consider making money as an escort.
She added: “I will get into escorting if I need to, not to sleep with the men, just for company. To be on their arm. I think I’d be good at that.
“My mum would tell me I need to work on my table manners first though. And by the way, that is a joke.”
Katie found herself in trouble again last month when a warrant was issued for her arrest after failed to appear for a bankruptcy court hearing in London.
The TV star was in Turkey at the time and she has since explained she is “doing the best [she] can to rectify things”.
In a post on her Instagram page, she wrote: “Whilst I’m currently aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation with my ongoing bankruptcy, I am today shocked that whilst away working for a documentary on corrective surgeries that I should find myself yet again headline news.
“The media in my opinion once again are trying to cause continued humiliation to myself and family. There are far greater and more pressing issues going on around the world that are more important and I’m sure most people are bored reading stories that are constantly misrepresented.
“I have I am continuing to to cooperate with the relevant people on matters to the best of my ability which will be addressed after my return from work.” Katie – who has five children from previous relationships – insisted she isn’t “embarrassed or ashamed” about her situation and is trying to get through “extremely challenging times”.
She wrote: “I have to continue in my work in order to satisfy these bankruptcy orders which is all I am trying to do right now. I am however not running from matters and will continue to take matters with great seriousness.
“I am doing the best I cam to rectify things during extremely challenging times … I will continue to work on my mental health disorders for the sake of my self and my family and do the best I can.”

Josh Hartnett: I quit Hollywood for the sake of my sanity

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Hartnett quit Hollywood for the sake of his “sanity”.
The 46-year-old actor became one of the most sought-after stars in the movie business in the late 90s and early 2000s – but Josh ultimately decided to step back from Hollywood in order to focus on independent projects.
Speaking to his ‘O’ co-star Julia Stiles for Interview magazine, Josh explained: “I never really lived in LA. Even when we were making ‘O’, I was in Minnesota, New York, nowhere, because I was living from set to set.
“I drove my car down from Minnesota to shoot ‘O’ and then drove back after that. But the choice to step back from the industry had more to do with just plain sanity.”
Josh ultimately feared that fame and success might’ve led him to becoming detached from his “community”.
The actor also acknowledged that fame didn’t give him the “satisfaction” he was seeking at the time.
Josh – who now lives in the UK with his wife Tamsin Egerton – shared: “I wanted to be myself amongst people that I knew, so I was able to revert back to my family and friends in Minnesota.
“Also, after a certain amount of time chasing a goal, I realised that achieving these things wasn’t giving me back the satisfaction I hoped it would, so I had to find something else to fill that gap. I felt, and still feel, that community is what fills it.
“Achievement is great in any walk of life. It’s a reason to get up in the morning. But the thing that really holds you is your community. I felt that I was kind of rootless at that time, so I wanted to find that community.”

Rachel Leviss opens up about her ‘dark times’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Leviss experienced some “dark times” after her 2023 cheating scandal.
The 29-year-old beauty struggled to cope with the pressure and scrutiny that came her way, after it was revealed that she had a months-long affair with Tom Sandoval.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Rachel shared: “The dark times were so dark, and it felt like there wasn’t a way out for the longest time. I [decided] I need[ed] to start making better decisions.
“It took time to integrate everything that I learned into my real life, but I feel like I’m finally now able to start living for me.”
Rachel ultimately decided to check herself into a mental health facility for three months.
And while she’s still attending therapy sessions, Rachel is now in a much better frame of mind.
She said: “I’m choosing to surround myself with people that lift me up as a person. That helps with my freedom in being my most authentic self.
“I’ve done most of the healing work – although I’m still in therapy – and I still make it a point to continue to work on myself because it’s an ongoing process. But it’s stepping into the light in a newfound way because before I was still very hyper-vigilant about how other people thought of me. And now it is what it is and you can take it or leave it.
“If you aren’t vibing with it, that’s totally fine. But it is the ‘I’m gonna do me and you do you’ type of vibe.”
Meanwhile, Rachel previously took to social media to apologise for her cheating scandal.
The reality star also promised to reflect on her mistakes.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “I am reflecting on my choices, speaking to a counselor and I am learning things about myself such as my patterns of codependency and addiction to being and feeling loved. I have sought emotional validation through intimate connections that are not healthy without regard for my own well-being, sometimes negatively affecting others and often prioritizing the intimate connection over my friendships. I am taking steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices. (sic)”

Nicole Richie ‘wanted to look like something else’ during her younger years

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Richie thought she “needed” to wear make-up during her younger years.
The 42-year-old TV star has admitted that she “wanted to look like something else” during her 20s.
Nicole told PEOPLE: “When I look at my photos of myself in my 20s, the first thing that comes to mind is just how much I thought I needed between extensions and make-up.
“I would say, ‘I can never let anyone see me without extensions, not even my animals’ [because] my hair is so thin. Back then it would take about six hours to put in a full head of extensions, so sometimes I would take out my extensions the night before and then get them put back in the next morning.
“While I loved all that, and I think it’s so much fun. I didn’t need it, and I do think that I was still in a stage where I wanted to look like something else.”
Now, Nicole has a completely different attitude towards health and beauty.
She shared: “I really focus on the health of my skin and the health of my hair and leaning into who I am and what I naturally look like.
“In my 40s, I just want to look like myself. I want to be myself. It’s fun and exciting and it’s real life, which is no joke.”
Nicole still loves to “put on a look” – but she’s also determined to “feel like [herself]”.
The ‘Simple Life’ star said: “Especially if I have to go out and speak to people, I can’t be in a look where I have completely exited who I am on the inside.
“For example, if I were doing a talk show or something where I had to do a lot of interviews, I wouldn’t wear a red lip because I’m self-conscious and I don’t do a lot of red lip looks. I don’t want to be thinking about anything like, ‘Do I have lipstick on my teeth?’ Or making sure that I have it on right!”

Pamela Anderson: Re-reading my journals was painful

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson found it “painful” to re-read her old journals.
The 57-year-old actress decided to re-read her journals ahead of writing her memoir, ‘Love, Pamela’, and releasing her own Netflix documentary – but Pamela found it to be an emotional experience.
The Hollywood star – who has Brandon, 28, and Dylan, 26, with ex-husband Tommy Lee – told Better Homes and Gardens magazine: “Brandon was with me co-producing the Netflix documentary and helping me put the pieces of my former life together.
“We were going through all my journals, which were in storage. That was painful to me.”
Despite this, Pamela also found it to be a surprisingly “healing experience”.
The blonde beauty explained: “I didn’t plan on this whole healing experience, but as the days went on, it’s what happened.
“It was like I went back home to ‘face it and erase it,’ as they say, to face things from back then that weren’t very comfortable. That brought everything rushing back.”
Meanwhile, Pamela previously admitted that she’s learned to embrace her supposed imperfections.
The ‘Baywatch’ star has adopted a makeup-free look in recent times, and Pamela has been surprised by the reaction to her fresh-faced appearance.
She told PORTER: “I didn’t think anybody would notice. I was just doing it for me.
“I was like, ‘I’m not going to play this game’. I thought, really, it’s not that important – people are going to see me for five minutes; how bad can it be?!”
Pamela is determined to embrace her perceived imperfections, and she hopes that her approach will inspire younger women, too.
The actress reflected: “In a way, I am doing it for the girls.
“With this social-media world, it’s easy to fall down that rabbit hole of comparing yourself to others. Imperfections are human, they’re sexy. The differences are what make us interesting.”

The 34-year-old pop star was scheduled to play three gigs in the Austrian capital of Vienna, starting on Thursday (08.08.24), but those shows have now been cancelled due to a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium.
In a statement posted on Instagram, concert organisers Barracuda Music said: “Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Vienna shows cancelled due to government officials confirmation of planned terrorist attack.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington thinks his children will feel “deeply uncomfortable” watching ‘Game of Thrones’.
The 37-year-old actor has a three-year-old son and a 12-month-old daughter with his wife and former co-star Rose Leslie, and Kit doubts that their kids will ever want to watch the hit HBO series.

In fact, Kit suggested that his kids won’t ever want to watch him on screen in any film or TV show.
The actor – who has been married to Rose since 2018 – explained: “I think they’ll be deeply uncomfortable.
“I don’t think they’re gonna wanna watch anything I’m in. I really don’t.
“I think it’s gonna be one of those sadnesses that I’ll be like, ‘Hey, look at this thing I was in 20 years ago.’ And they’ll be like, ‘Dad no.’”
Despite this, Kit will always be very proud of ‘Game of Thrones’ and its success.
The London-born star – who played the part of Jon Snow on the show – shared: “I mean, it’s incredible to me and really heartwarming that that whole franchise is continuing. I just think it’s brilliant. I think long may it continue.”
Kit previously admitted that he felt anxious about watching ‘House of the Dragon’, the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel series.
The actor said in 2021: “I think to see people get into outfits and costumes, that resemble what we wore for all those years, and it [has] the same music and style and tone, but not be in it is always going to feel … There’s going to be a rawness there.”

Ryan Reynolds hails Jon Favreau as ‘one of the greats’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds considers Jon Favreau to be “one of the greats” of the movie business.
The 57-year-old filmmaker stars alongside Ryan, 47, in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, and Ryan has taken to social media to pay a glowing tribute to his co-star.
In a lengthy post on X, Ryan wrote: “Jon Favreau didn’t just jump into #DeadpoolAndWolverine for a quick one night stand as Happy Hogan. He gave us the 360 degree vision of an innovator, foundational Marvel forefather and ace storyteller. And if I have his number right, he is WILDLY uncomfortable with everything I’m writing in this post. But f*** it, I got what I needed out of him so he’s gonna drink the medicine.
“One of the many things I love about playing Deadpool is that he’s a fan. Like me. Deadpool LOVES Marvel. So, working with Jon who’s one of the original creatives who built an empire, was somehow BETTER than sitting with one of my heroes. And almost better than being cradled in Thor’s powerful arms while he sobs like a f****** motherless child who lost his binky in a house fire. (sic)”
Jon – who reprised the role of Harold ‘Happy’ Hogan for the new movie – has been significantly involved in the success of the Marvel movies, directing films such as ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Iron Man 2’.
Ryan appreciated having Jon’s creative input for the new movie.
He said: “Jon is one of the greats. Yeah, the movie benefitted from his incredible performance, but we got something more important: his generosity of time and energy to talk story and brainstorm larger themes and ideas.
“I’d drop everything to show up for this guy anytime or anywhere. Thank you, Jon.”

Jamie Lee Curtis admits to being ‘quite a loner’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis sees herself as a “loner”.
The 65-year-old actress has confessed to being a bit of a loner in her personal life, but Jamie still relishes the opportunity to bond with her co-stars.
The actress – who stars alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart in the new action-comedy movie ‘Borderlands’ – told ‘Extra’: “I’m really quite a loner when I’m in my own life, but in my work I get to embrace people and I’ve been doing that for a long time.”
The Hollywood star revealed that she particularly relished spending time with Cate, 55.
She shared: “We’ve bonded in a really lovely way.
“Obviously, Cate lives far, far away … Chances that I would have ended up in a movie with her were very small, and so the opportunity presented itself … and I went to Budapest.”
What’s more, Jamie is looking forward to reuniting with Lindsay Lohan for the ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel.
The actress – who starred alongside Lindsay in the original movie back in 2003 – admitted that it’s “insane” to work with the 38-year-old actress after so many years.
She said: “She’s grown up. She’s had a baby of her own … She’s 38 years old. I mean, how crazy is that?
“She was 15 when we made the movie. I mean, it’s insane.”
Jamie has enjoyed a hugely successful career – but she doesn’t obsess about winning awards.
The movie star previously revealed that she’s developed a philosophical attitude towards award shows over recent years.
Jamie – who stars in the ‘Halloween’ film franchise – told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It’s out of your control … At the end, win or lose, it doesn’t matter.”

The actor – who starred alongside his wife in the 2013 adventure film ‘The Lovers’ – told Interview magazine: “[We met in] the most Hollywood way imaginable.
“We played husband and wife in the worst movie either of us have ever made. No offence to the director, it’ll remain nameless.
“It just got lost in post-production.”
Josh and Tamsin were both dating different people at the time. But the celebrity duo fell in love during the shoot and they subsequently embarked “on a long road trip” together in the US.
The actor – who now lives in the UK with his family – shared: “We were shooting here in London and both had significant others, and both realised that wasn’t going to work because we really liked each other.
“So I broke up with my girlfriend, she broke up with her boyfriend, and then after we stopped filming, we started to date. But I was living in New York and she was living in London, so we went on a few vacations together.
“Then she came out to the States and we went on a long road trip where she met my parents and it kept going. And then she kept staying with me and I kept staying with her. We were living a lot of the time between houses together, and then she got pregnant and then we got married.”

Modern Family changed my life, says Jesse Tyler Ferguson

OHMYGOSSIP — Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s ‘Modern Family’ stint helped to shield him from homophobia.
The 48-year-old actor played Mitchell Pritchett on the hit TV sitcom, and Jesse has explained how the show changed his life.
Speaking on the ‘Dinner’s on Me’ podcast, Jesse shared: “I went to Las Vegas, and I had been in Las Vegas a few years earlier, and I sort of got gay bashed a little bit.
“It wasn’t anything violent, but it was definitely like, there was negative energy coming at me from a couple that felt uncomfortable around me and my then-boyfriend.
“And then years later I went, after ‘Modern Family’, and I remember feeling that same negativity initially, but then they would see who it was, and they would recognise me from being, I am gay, but I’m also that gay one from TV.”
Jesse feels like his on-screen role offered him some form of protection.
The actor – who starred on the sitcom between 2009 and 2020 – explained: “There was some weird superpower that I felt like I was being protected by this role that I was also playing.
“It kind of gave me this coat of armour, and I had this protection of being this character that people also loved. I don’t know. It was really weird.”
Meanwhile, Jesse previously admitted to being surprised by the success of ‘Modern Family’.
The actor told Instinct magazine: “I think we were all prepared to just let it be what it was, and nobody knew that we had something special.
“We felt that there was a deep connection, and we know that the pilot was very well received, but you never know what’s going to happen next. You never know if the audience is going to stick around. I don’t think it was until the second season after we’ve been nominated for another round of Emmy Awards where it was like, okay, maybe we are here to stay for a while.”

Rachel Leviss: It’s hard to watch Vanderpump Rules

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Leviss found it “hard” to watch the last season of ‘Vanderpump Rules’.
The 29-year-old beauty quit the reality TV show following her affair with Tom Sandoval, and Rachel struggled to hear her former co-stars talking about her on the last season.
Asked if she would ever return to ‘Vanderpump Rules’, Rachel told Us Weekly: “It would take all-expenses paid therapy. I would need a therapist on call and therapy sessions after every single filming session!
“I just don’t know if I see a path forward because it’s not a healthy dynamic. I’m trying to protect my mental health and I’m trying to live an authentic life.
“It was a hard thing to watch the show this past season and have them talk about me constantly. I was not there to defend myself and that was hard.”
Despite this, Rachel remains open to the idea of appearing on another TV show at some stage.
She said: “I could see myself doing a competition show. I think that’s the extent of it.
“There’s something with anonymity and privacy that you don’t really appreciate until you lose that privacy. We can reassess in a few years and see what the next projects are.”
Rachel also revealed that she’s learned some important life lessons through her ‘Vanderpump Rules’ experience.
She explained: “There’s a huge life lesson with external validation. It would make sense why someone who gets external validation finds themselves on a reality TV show. Ultimately you want to be seen and you want to be heard by others and you want to be valued.
“So I think the biggest life lesson for me is to validate myself from within. I do have a tendency to over-explain things because I hate it when there’s information out there that’s not true and it’s defamatory. Then I become defensive.
“But I’m also learning that people can think what they want and I can be a villain in somebody’s story and that’s not going to change who I am as a person.”
