Kit Harington glad he got sober before having kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington feels “lucky” to have kicked his addiction issues before becoming a father because he “hated himself” when he was drinking.
The 37-year-old ‘Game of Thrones’ actor – who is dad to two young children with his wife and former co-star Rose Leslie – checked into rehab back in 2019 to battle his demons and Kit admits he’s glad he was able to sober up and get his life together before his kids arrived.
He told GQ Hype: “I was so lucky I got sober before having kids … The very fact that I can be proud of it [being sober] is an achievement. Because before getting sober, I would stare in the mirror and call myself a c***. I’d hate myself. I would literally despise myself and not be proud of anything I’d done. I couldn’t be proud. So the fact that I am proud of getting sober is in and of itself a mark of being an entirely different person … ”
Kit and Rose married in Scotland in 2018 – seven years after meeting on the set of the hit fantasy drama – and they are now parents to a three-year-old son and a 12-month-old daughter.
He went on to insist parenting has changed him a lot because it’s forced him to become less “self-centred”.
Kit explained: “I say this with love for myself – I’m quite self-centred. I think I’m a generous person and a loving person [too].
“But with kids, you just don’t get to be self-centred. They strip you of it. And that’s an amazing gift. [Kids] are ultimately completely self-centred. They don’t think about anyone else but themselves.
“So your self-centredness just has to park itself. And I think it’s the great thing about parenting. At the heart of it, it’s the most selfless thing you can do.”

Kerry Katona feared daughter had been kidnapped

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona feared her youngest daughter had been kidnapped after she vanished during a family holiday.
The former Atomic Kitten star is enjoying a break in Cyprus with her fiance Ryan Mahoney and her kids Max, 15, DJ, 10, and Heidi, 17, and she revealed she had a nasty moment when she lost track of DJ on the beach.
Kerry, 43, detailed the ordeal in her column for OK! magazine, writing: “I got really worried on a day out at the beach, because I couldn’t find DJ – she had gone off into the sea and I couldn’t see her. My mind straight away went to the worst, thinking she had been kidnapped or something awful.
“When I found her bobbing along I was so relieved. It was only a few moments and thankfully all was OK, but I told her not to go off without telling an adult again.”
Kerry also revealed she was struck down with norovirus shortly before they all jetted off Cyprus but she didn’t want to cancel the break so she’s spent her time off battling symptoms of the stomach bug.
She explained: “I’ve had the norovirus this week, which was awful timing. It started just before we came out to Cyprus and my symptoms have been coming and going in waves.
“One minute I’m fine and the next I’m shaking and cold – it’s been happening on and off all week. At one point I was worried I wasn’t even going to be well enough to go on holiday and was packing everyone’s suitcases while shivering. Hopefully I’ll be on the mend soon!”
It comes after Kerry previously admitted she was left in floods of tears when she previously went on a holiday without her children.
In her new! magazine column, Kerry explained: “The last time Ryan and I were abroad just to the two of us was before Covid, and I cried for the last three days because I missed the kids so much.”
She is also mum to grown-up daughters Molly, 22, and 21-year-old Lilly-Sue.

Jamelia finally feels ‘worthy’ of love after ‘catastrophic’ split

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamelia finally feels “worthy of great love” after a “catastrophic” break-up left her single and pregnant.
The pop star split from her partner – who she has never named – in 2022 when she was four months pregnant with her fourth daughter and she was left raising her girls alone, but she has now bounced back and feels ready to look for love again.
She told OK! magazine: “I’ve been single for two and a half years and my last relationship ended catastrophically.
“I’m at a point where I’m really happy, I’ve recovered from that experience and I thought, ‘I’d love to go on a date!’ … ”
She signed up to appear in reality TV show ‘Celebs Go Dating’ and she credits the series’ panel of experts with helping her to change her thinking.
Jamelia added: “I realised that I was choosing men as the little girl that didn’t get picked up by her dad, so many things were linked back to my childhood.
“I’m over that now and I know that I am worthy of great love. The [experts] have changed my life. My exes couldn’t even talk to me now!”
The singer previously admitted she felt like her life was “over” after her break -up, telling the Daily Star newspaper: “When I was four-and-a-half months pregnant, my relationship broke down. Me and my daughters were abandoned.
“It was an unexpected life change that absolutely devastated us and changed everything. It was like a sledgehammer went through our lives. I thought it was the end of my life because my relationship had ended.
“The past two years of my life have been a car crash. I’ve had a really difficult, traumatic time. One of the things I never, ever wanted to be was a single mum.”
She added: “I’ve had four daughters to keep afloat, keep alive. There are so many people who I thought would support me and help me and they just didn’t. I had to tap into my resilience. It’s been about surviving.”

Kelly Bensimon is dating again after calling off her wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Bensimon is back on the dating scene less than two months after she called off her wedding.
The former ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ star, 56, had been due to marry wealth management advisor Scott Litner on June 29, but she axed the nuptials with just four days notice after Scott refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement – and now she’s revealed she’s looking for love once again.
Kelly told New York Post column PageSix: “I’m not in a relationship. I am … happy to move forward with new possibilities … [I’m] having fun dating.”
She went on to add: “I am enjoying myself. I am not hunting. I can’t wait for my next chapter. I am not in a committed relationship.”
The reality TV star initially explained she had decided not to get married for the sake of her two daughters – Sea, 26, and Teddy, 24 – before later revealing the decision came after Scott refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
After calling off her big day, she told PEOPLE: “Ultimately, my decision is nobody’s business, but I understand that there is speculation and gossip, and I want to put an end to all of it. To be clear, he refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, and I refused to marry him. Full stop.”
A statement released to the outlet added: “She was looking forward to an exciting new chapter in her life together with Scott when everything became clear to her late on Tuesday afternoon … [He] refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, effectively stalling their engagement mere days before the wedding.”
The statement included words from Kelly, which explained: “He thought that I would enter this union without legal protections in place, that I would leave everything to faith.
“But I’ve worked really, really, hard as a single mother and have always made smart decisions for myself and my family, and that will continue.”
Scott proposed to Kelly over the Fourth of July weekend in 2023 during a holiday in Wisconsin and they planned to marry in two ceremonies. One would have taken place at Scott’s mother’s home in Boston with a second celebration taking place in the Hamptons.
Kelly was previously married to fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon – the father of her two daughters – from 1997 to 2006.

Hugh Jackman jokes he ate ‘fried rocks’ to play Wolverine

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman has joked he ate nothing but “fried rocks” to get in shape for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’.
The 55-year-old actor reprised his role as the Marvel superhero to appear alongside Ryan Reynolds in the summer blockbuster – and Hugh has laughed off the lengths he went to buff up for the shoot.
During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, the host asked: “You eat like steamed rocks or something. What do you have?” and Hugh replied: “Yeah, sometimes I fry the rocks.”
The Hollywood star went on to reveal he ate a high-calorie diet, but it wasn’t particularly exciting, explaining: “It’s 6,000 calories, and it’s not the calories you necessarily want. Like, half a pizza is 6,000 calories.
“But no, this is chicken, and it’s tilapia and beans. Tilapia and beans. I don’t know why tilapia. It must be some fish that is lean, and green beans.”
Hugh also revealed he ended up staying on his gruelling diet for longer than expected after the movie shoot was delayed due to the Hollywood writers strike last year.
He added: “There’s one particular scene where I really wanted to focus on how I looked. And [director] Shawn [Levy] said, ‘Where do you want to do that scene?’ And I said, ‘Let’s just put it to the end.’
“And then the strike came, and I was like, ‘Oh, why did I say that ?'”
It comes after director Shawn Levy revealed Hugh gave him permission to include a joke about his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness in the new movie.
The film includes a gag referencing his personal life as well as that of co-star Jennifer Garner, who is divorced from Ben Affleck, and Shawn is adamant he’d never include those kind of jokes without the actors’ permission.
He told Variety: “We never did a joke about or with anyone that we didn’t run by them first. Whether it was scripted, like the ‘Daredevil’ line, or unscripted, like ‘He’s normally shirtless, but he’s let himself go since the divorce,’ which was more of on-set improv, Ryan [Reynolds] or I would always run the lines by performers and make sure everyone felt comfortable and that we were never punching down.”
Shawn confirmed that Hugh and Jennifer, 52, both “felt good” about including jokes about their failed marriages in the movie.
He added: “It was all in a playful spirit that everyone felt good about. Those lines wouldn’t be in the movie if Hugh and Jen didn’t think they were funny.”

King Charles indulges ‘quirky hobby’ by building new maze

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles has indulged his “quirky” childhood hobby by building a new maze at his country estate.
The monarch commissioned a new hedgerow labyrinth to be built at Sandringham in Norfolk after spending his childhood enjoying solving the previous one that stood on the site and the new section opened to the public earlier this month – now royal expert Jennie Bond has insisted the late Queen Elizabeth would have been entertained by her son’s plans.
She told OK! magazine: “I’m sure the late Queen would have been quite amused that her little boy was indulging one of his quirky hobbies: finding his way out of a maze.
“He used to spend hours trying to get round the maze at Sandringham when he was a child. That maze was dismantled years ago, but now it has been rebuilt … and is even better.”
The King previously opened a new maze at Dumfries House in Ayrshire in 2016 and another – in the shape of a thistle – was completed at the Balmoral estate in Scotland earlier this month.
Jennie went on to insist Charles seems keen to leave a lasting legacy in the gardens of the royal properties.
She added: “[The mazes] will be quite a legacy for the King, and I think he’ll get great enjoyment from watching his grandchildren and, indeed the public, trying to find their way out.
“Of course the King’s mazes are extraordinarily elegant and beautiful. Charles, who loves beauty in nature, wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Charles previously opened up about his love of mazes at the opening of the new section at Dumfries House in 2016, saying: ‘I’m afraid to say I’m rather indulging in my childhood fantasy of mazes. There’s nothing more enjoyable than getting lost in a maze.”

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson admits he felt like an ‘outsider’ because of his sexuality

OHMYGOSSIP — Jesse Tyler Ferguson felt like an “outsider” growing up because of his sexuality.
The 48-year-old actor is openly gay now but recalled that her “didn’t see much representation” during his childhood and called for more of it these days for the sake of inclusivity.
He told People: “I think representation is so important. I mean, the minute we start calling people who are not like us ‘other’ or ‘weird’…I think it’s just a very dangerous, slippery slope.
“And the minute you start segmenting people into tiny groups, subgroups, and saying ‘You guys are this and you are guys are that,’ and ostracizing different groups of people and not allowing us to all share in our experiences together, I think it’s incredibly dangerous.
“And I grew up feeling very outside, being a closeted gay kid in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and not seeing people who were like me or representing the type of life that I wanted to have, whether it be on television or just in my everyday life.
“I just didn’t see a lot of representation. And I think that the minute we start tearing down these walls that separate us and really making an effort to connect with people, whether they’re different than us or not, is only going to be a good thing.”
The former ‘Modern Family’ star – who has Beckett, four, and 21-month-old Sullivan with his husband Justin Mikita – also noted that as part of a same-sex parenting unit, he wants to make sure he is raising his children in a house where they will always feel that they are being listened to.
He said: “It’s very important for me as a father of an LGTBQ family to raise my kids in a space where they feel like their family is also of value and are being heard and being seen and to experience the type of art that they want to watch.”

Post Malone admits he was on a ‘rough path’ before he became a father: ‘I was just lonely…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Post Malone was on a “rough path” before his daughter came along.
The 29-year-old singer has a two-year-old daughter – who is only known publicly by the initials DDP -with his fiancee Jamie and has written a number of songs about her but admitted that prior to her arrival, he was suffering from “loneliness” for a long period of time.
Speaking on ‘CBS Sunday Mornings’, he said: “Four years ago I was on a rough path. I was wrestling with everything. Just loneliness. Gettin’ up, havin’ a good cry, drinkin,’ and then goin’ living your life. And then whenever you go lay down, drinkin’ some more and having a good cry. And just like, ‘I gotta wake up tomorrow and do this again.’ And I don’t feel like that anymore. And it’s the most amazing thing. I often tell my audience . It’s important, because not everyone knows it. There’s a lot of very, I think, lonely people.”
The ‘Sunflower’ hitmaker – whose real name is Austin Richard Post – was then asked if he was “trying to give people something that you yourself have at times felt missing” through his music and admitted that was indeed the case because he doesn’t want others to feel as low as he felt at one stage.
He added: “I think so. Yes, sir. I think that’s a good way to put it. Because I don’t want people to feel how I’ve felt. And I know they do. And I’m here and I’m on stage and I just want everyone to feel welcome and to feel loved. And that’s the most important thing for me. “I cannot even believe it, the place that I’m in.”

Madonna planning to hirehistoric Pompeii site for birthday celebrations

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna is planning to hire the Large Theatre at Pompeii for her birthday celebrations.
The ‘Material Girl’ hitmaker will turn 66 on Friday (16.08.24) and is reportedly planning to throw a bash at the 2,200-year-old amphitheatre in the Roman town that was smothered in volcanic ash and pumice when Vesuvius erupted in 79AD.
La Repubblica quoted Carmine Lo Sapio, mayor of Pompeii, saying he had been contacted about the event and said: “We are ready to welcome the singer”, whilst her Italian fan club said they were “preparing” for her arrival in a Facebook post.
It is thought that throwing the party at the ancient site will cost Madonna – who has a reported net worth of $850 million – €30,000 to rent the historical venue, with The Times reporting that a US-based events company has made the arrangements.
A police spokesman explained to the outlet that officers would oversee security outside the park, noting that it was still unclear whether the site would be closed to visitors for the day
The venue has not confirmed the news yet, and the singer is yet to speak out about the news herself as well.
The historic landmark was built into a natural hill in the second century BC and was one of the first permanent stone theatres in the Roman empire, seating around 5,000 spectators at the time.
These days, it is mainly used for concerts, operas, and theatre performances, having hosted big names like Pink Floyd and David Gilmour.
The ‘Like A Virgin’ singer is no stranger to throwing elaborate bashes in celebration of her birthday, having taken over in Noto in Sicily and Borgo Egnazia in the past.
This time, 500 guests are expected to attend the lavish event, with A-Listers Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom thought to be on the list.
However, some have questioned why the Queen of Pop needs to
Michele Campisi, general secretary of the Italia Nostra heritage association, said: “Why does Madonna need to go to Pompeii? Is there not a more beautiful beach she could use?”
“€30,000 is absurd. It’s like giving Pompeii away.”

Jamie Lee Curtis reveals she was inspired by Disney as she is named a Legend

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis was inspired by Disney as a child.
The 65-year-old actress was one of a slew of names honoured as a Disney Legend at the D23 Expo on Sunday (11.08.24) and gave a musical speech that was, in part, a reflection of her memories of growing up with the music of House of Mouse as she quoted her favourite song.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I was just in the moment and in the moment I was gonna recite the lyrics to the song of the ‘Carousel of Progress’, which was written by the Sherman Brothers – Disney legends themselves. The ‘Carousel of Progress’ blew my mind as a little kid.
“Today, we would look at that animatronic stuff, and it’s a little rough, but the song is like an [earworm], it gets in your head.
The Oscar-winning star made her name in the horror genre before moving on to dramas like ‘My Girl’ in the 1990s and then starred alongside Lindsay Lohan in Disney’s 2003 remake of ‘Freaky Friday’ and will appear in the sequel next year.
The ‘Scream Queens’ actress was inducted into the Disney hall of fame organisation by her on-screen daughter Lindsay, 38, and fellow Academy Award-winner Jodie Foster, who starred alongside Barbara Harris in the 1978 version of the body swap comedy.
Lindsay said: “The magic of Jamie Lee Curtis is that she is timeless. I feel so blessed to have Jamie as a friend in my life, and lucky to work with a woman I love so much.”
Amongst the other 13 inductees were ‘Marvel’ star Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford and ‘The Simpsons’ co-creator James L. Brooks, with the cartoon having become property of Disney when they purchased James L. Brooks.
Miley Cyrus became the youngest-ever recipient of the award at the age of 31 and teared up on reflection of her years starring in the sitcom ‘Hannah Montana’ for the network.
The ‘Flowers’ hitmaker launched her career playing a teenager who had a secret identity as a pop star in the Disney Channel juggernaut before she broke out as an artist in her own right and admitted that she is “proud” to have starred as the wig-wearing singer.
Speaking of her breakthrough role – which she played from 2006 until 2011 – she said: “I had gotten a taste of what my life could be, and from that moment on, I did not want anything else.
“A little bit of everything has changed, … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all.
“I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”
At one point, she said: “In so many ways, this award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.'”

Sir Rod Stewart cancels more shows after contracting COVID

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel two more shows after contracting COVID-19.
The 79-year-old rocker has postponed two concerts, in Nevada and California, as he “recovers from a summer strain” of COVID.
A message on his Instagram on Friday (09.08.24) said: “We regret to announce that tonight’s Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, NV and his August 10 show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, as the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19. The Lincoln, CA concert at Thunder Valley Casino will now be on August 18 and his concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Statateline, NV concert will now be August 20. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows.”
This comes after Rod was “absolutely gutted” to cancel his 200th residency show in Las Vegas last week.
Rod has been performing his ‘Rod Stewart: The Hits’ concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace since 2011 but was forced to pull out of the milestone gig just hours before he was due on stage after contracting strep throat, a bacterial infection.
Rod wrote on Instagram: “I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration.
“Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long.
“My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we’ll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.”
The concert had been due to be the final night of the lengthy residency, but shortly before it was cancelled, the ‘Maggie May’ hitmaker announced a string of new dates for next spring.
He wrote on social media: “Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!
“Don’t miss The Encore Shows Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace March 12-22 May 29-June 8! Tickets on sale Monday at 10amPT!(sic)”
Rod turns 80 in January, and while he recently acknowledged his “days are numbered”, he pledged to continue enjoying life as much as possible.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”

Lesley Manville ‘looking forward’ to kissing Mark Strong

OHMYGOSSIP — Lesley Manville can’t wait to kiss Mark Strong “eight times a week”.
The 68-year-old actress – who played Princess Margaret in the later series of Netflix show ‘The Crown’ – will co-star with Strong, 61, in a new stage adaptation of ‘Oedipus’ in London’s West End and she is excited about getting up close and personal with the hunky actor.
She told The Mirror: “I’m looking forward to kissing Mark Strong on stage eight times a week.”
Leslie also revealed her ambition to play Meryl Streep’s younger sister, saying: “I want to play Meryl Streep’s younger sister, and I think I could! She is great. She seems like a really good laugh.”
Leslie also revealed she didn’t have a lot of confidence at the beginning of her career and was left feeling “exposed and vulnerable” when working on 1981 play ‘Rita, Sue And Bob Too’, about a man sleeping with two underage teenagers.
She said: “We were very exposed. Our modesty was kind of intact but vulnerable. It should have been different but it wasn’t unusual for that time.”
However, things have changed and Leslie is happy that women of all ages are now portrayed as “fabulous” on stage and screen.
She said: “Women are seeing actresses of an age being fabulous. I don’t dress inappropriately but I want the freedom to dress how I’d like.
“Fortunately, some parts that I now play represent women who are able to say I am this age, yes I’m still sexually active, yes I want to dress how I want, yes I want to be thought of bold and brave and outrageous if we want to be. It’s so boring otherwise.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott still don’t have a wedding date.
The couple got engaged in August 2023 but a year later, they still have no concrete plans to tie the knot.
Jonathan, 46, told Entertainment Tonight: “I have no updates. I wish I had more exciting news. We just got back from Europe. We just had our daughter’s birthday party, and then we had another event and a charity thing. We don’t even feel settled in yet, but we have determined that we are gonna figure it out soon.”
Zooey was previously married to Jacob Pechenik and the pair share kids Elsie, nine, and Charlie, seven, together.

Kim Kardashian files for restraining order

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian has applied for a restraining order against a man she claims attempted to gain access to her home.
The 43-year-old reality TV star has filed court documents asking for an order of protection to keep Melvin Jeffery Conley, 32, away from her and her family amid claims he attempted to “jump the fence” at her mansion in Malibu, California.
According to TMZ.com the documents claim Conley also showed up at the home of her mum Kris Jenner claiming to be Kim’s “longterm manager” and a player for basketball team the Toronto Raptors telling security guards he had an appointment to see Kim that day.
In the paperwork, Kim claims to have been caused “worry, concern and severe emotional distress” with TMZ adding the star stated her home is “not easy to find nor publicised and it shows the lengths he is willing to go to make contact with her and her kids”.
The documents also suggest Kim was warned about Conley by her ‘American Horror Story’ co-star Emma Roberts, who was granted a five-year restraining order against him earlier this year.
The outlet states Conley was previously accused of breaking into Emma’s home back in May and calling the actress from the property’s landline phone.
The paperwork suggests Emma told Kim she’d been warned Conley was trying to make contact with ‘The Kardashians’ star and her children.
In Emma’s previous court filing, she claimed she was “living in fear that [Conley] is going to try and come back to her home”.
She was granted a restraining order protecting both her and her three-year-old son.
The order bans Conley from coming within 100 yards of her and her son, as well as their home, her work and his school at any point during the next five years.

Liza Minnelli releasing memoir

OHMYGOSSIP — Liza Minnelli is publishing a memoir because she’s “mad as hell” that previous documentaries about her”didn’t get it right”.
The 78-year-old performer – daughter of screen legend Judy Garland – is lifting the lid on her life in a new book after signing a deal with Grand Central Publishing and Liza has revealed she wanted to put pen to paper to correct a number of inaccuracies.
In a statement given to PEOPLE, Liza said she had been turning down book offers for years: “Since I was old enough to put pencil to paper, people asked me to write books about my career. ‘Absolutely not! Tell it when I’m gone!’ Was my philosophy.”
However, the stage veteran admitted a “series of unfortunate events” changed her mind about detailing her “life, loves and family” in a book.
She explained those events included “a sabotaged appearance at the Oscars … a film with twisted half-truths … [and] a recent miniseries that just didn’t get it right … All made by people who didn’t know my family, and don’t really know me.”
She added: “Finally, I was mad as hell! Over dinner one night, I decided, it’s my own … story … I’m gonna share it with you because of all the love you’ve given me.”
The book will be written in conjunction with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Heidi Evans and journalist Josh Getlin and it will detail her childhood growing up as Judy Garland’s daughter, her rise to fame in ‘Cabaret’ as well as her four marriages and battle with substance abuse issues.
It’s due for release in spring 2026.
Liza concluded her statement by assuring her fans she’s in a good place after some troubled times, adding: “After incredible events and life-threatening battles … I am truly ‘Lady Peaceful, Lady Happy.’
“Thank you all for loving me so much … being concerned about me. I want you to know I’m still here, still kicking a**, still loving life and still creating. So, until this book arrives, know that I’m laughing, safe in every way, surrounded by loved ones and excited to see what’s right around the curve of life. Kids, wait ‘til you hear this.”
Liza’s longtime pal Michael Feinstein – who will also help her with the book – previously opened up about the star’s appearance on stage at the Oscars in 2022 when she was invited to announce the best picture prize alongside pop star Lady Gaga.
Liza was brought on stage in a wheelchair and Michael insisted she was furious about it. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s ‘The Jess Cagle Show’, he explained: “She only agreed to appear at the Oscars if she would be in a director’s chair, because she’s been having back trouble.
“She said, ‘I don’t want people to see me limping out there.’ She said, ‘You know, I want to look good. I don’t want people to worry about me’.”
However, the plan was changed with just minutes to spare. He went on to add: “The stage manager said, ‘Well, she has to be in a wheelchair’ and Liza pleaded. She said, ‘No, I will not be seen in a wheelchair in front of everybody. I will not do this. I refused to do this’. And they said, ‘Well, it’s either that or nothing’ …
“She was nervous and it made her look like she was out of it. Can you imagine being suddenly forced to be seen by millions of people the way you don’t want to be seen? That’s what happened to her.”

Elle King wasn’t ‘really speaking’ to dad Rob Schneider at start of career

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle King wasn’t “really speaking” to her dad Rob Schneider when she began her music career.
The ‘Ex’s + Oh’s’ hitmaker – who is the daughter of the 60-year-old actor and former model London King – thinks she’s been able to avoid being branded a “nepo baby” and doesn’t feel she owes her success to her famous father.
Speaking to Kaitlyn Bristowe on the ‘Off the Vine’ podcast, she said: “I do work really hard. I don’t think I ever really got scooted into the ‘nepo baby’ thing.”
Asked if Rob’s Hollywood career had had an influence on the “direction” she chose on life, Elle added: “It was more of like a deterrent.”
Noting she and the ‘Benchwarmers’ star “weren’t super close” when she landed her record deal, she said: “We really weren’t even speaking… I was a lot closer with my mom’s family in Ohio, and so I just have always gone by my mom’s last name.”
The 35-year-old musician admitted it is “easy to judge” and have preconceptions about her because of her family, especially as if anyone searches her online, Rob’s name is typically the “first thing” to crop up, but she insisted her reality has been very different.
She said: “I was born in California, and nobody knows that I really grew up in Ohio, and [I] didn’t even move to New York until I was a teenager.
“So, I feel like it’s just so unfair.
“And, yeah, of course, there can be any situation in the world and be like, ‘OK. It’s so much easier to just look surface level and not think that there could be any layers to anything ever.”
Elle was determined to be successful in her own right.
She said: “Growing up as somebody who was chubby, awkward, funny, has OCD and is weird and quirky and awkward but super sensitive, I had to really fight to be OK as myself. So I didn’t want to be known as someone’s kid.
“I wanted to be my own person. I never wanted to borrow money from anybody, and I’ve worked hard for my family and for me. I want to have a life built for myself, and I want to know that I did it.”
Although the ‘Drunk’ singer doesn’t attribute her career success to her dad, she thinks she got her “pipes” from him.
She said: “My dad can sing.
“He does the best Elvis I’ve ever heard. It’s pretty wild.”
And not only did Elle get her sense of humour from her mom, who is the “funniest person [she’s] ever met”, London helped her find her passion and encouraged her musical path.
She said: “My mom was the one, you know, carrying my guitar and sneaking me into bars, and letting me stay out with my friends and taking the guitar home for me.
“My mom was always just, like, telling me to take lessons, and she would drive me everywhere. And she took care of me and always made sure that I had some form of a creative outlet.”
