Melissa Gilbert underwent ‘intense therapy’ for neurological disorder

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa Gilbert underwent 16 weeks of “intense therapy” after being diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder.
The ‘Little House on the Prairie’ star has revealed she suffers from misophonia – which causes an extreme emotional reaction to certain sounds – and it haunted her for her whole life until she found a doctor who introduced her to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Melissa, 60, revealed she underwent four months of “intense” CBT sessions and it gave her the “tools” to cope with her condition. She told PEOPLE: “This is an emotional issue. It’s about self-regulation and self-control.
“[With therapy] I realised I could ride out these waves but that they’re not going to go away. They never go away. But now I have all these tools to enable me to be more comfortable and less triggered. It made me feel in control.”
Melissa explained tiny noises such as nails tapping on wood or chewing gum caused her to have emotional outbursts but she is now able to control her triggers.
The first sign Melissa feels stressed is when she clenches her toes so she has learned to relax her feet whenever she feels overwhelmed.
She added: Everyone around me doesn’t have to walk on eggshells [anymore] … It’s changed my whole life.”
The ‘Diary of Anne Frank’ actress – who is now married to Timothy Busfield but has son Dakota, 35, with her first husband Bo Brinkman and 28-year-old Michael with her second husband Bruce Boxleitner – banned her children from making noises such as chewing gum when they were growing up.
However, after therapy she felt so confident about being able to manage her reactions that she bought her kids packets of gum as special Christmas presents.
She added: ” My poor kids spent their whole childhoods growing up with me doing this. They weren’t allowed to have gum!”

Sir Rod Stewart is in ’embarrassingly wonderful health’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart is in “embarrassingly wonderful health” following a brush with COVID-19.
The 79-year-old music legend came down with the bug over the summer and it prompted him to cancel a series of shows in the US sparking worry among fans as it came shortly after he declared his “days are numbered” in a candid interview, but Rod has now insisted he’s fighting fit again.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I appear to have been grossly misunderstood in that interview. When I said, ‘My days are numbered’, it was purely in jest. Aren’t everybody’s days numbered?
“I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying, as far as I know.”
The singer – who turns 80 in January – previously told the same publication: “I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few – probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”
In the new interview, the star went on to add: “Life is good and I have a lot of life to live, but I could still get knocked down by a No9 bus in the Charing Cross Road next week. All our days are numbered, but we just don’t know when.”
Rod added also explained he’s currently fit and healthy as he’s working hard with his personal trainer because he wants to be able to run 100 metres in less than 18 seconds – revealing he is exercising “three or four times a week”.
The singer was able to return to the stage earlier this month to play shows in California which were rescheduled due to his COVID battle. He told The Sun the postponement was “extremely unfortunate” but he’s planing to play the cancelled Las Vegas shows next year.
After cancelling the dates in Sin City, Rod explained his troubles to fans in a post on Instagram ,writing: “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted.”

Blake Lively’s co-star Brandon Sklenar tells trolls to ‘stop spreading hate’

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively’s ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star Brandon Sklenar has issued a public plea to trolls to stop “spreading hate on the Internet”.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star leads the cast of the new film – based on the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover – but she’s been targeted by online rumours suggesting she’s locked in a bitter feud with her director and co-star Justin Baldoni after a number of disagreements during the shoot.
Now Brandon – who appears alongside the pair in the film – has told the haters to back off because its a “distraction” from the movie’s important issues about domestic violence. In a post on Instagram, he wrote: “I wanted to take a minute and address all this stuff swirling online.
“Colleen and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Vilifying the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about. It is, in fact, the opposite of the point.”
He went on: “What may or may not have happened behind the scenes does not and hopefully should not detract from what our intentions were in making this film. It’s been disheartening to see the amount of negativity being projected online …
“There isn’t a single person involved in the making of this film that was not aware of the responsibility we had in making this. A responsibility to all the women who have experienced generational trauma – domestic abuse – or struggle with looking in the mirror and loving who they see.”
Brandon went on to call the movie a “harsh reality check for the men who need to get their s*** together and take responsibility for themselves and their actions” adding its aim is to “spread love and awareness”.
The actor added: “It is not meant to once again, make the woman the ‘bad guy’, let’s move beyond that together. All I ask is that before you spread hate on the internet, ask yourself who its helping.
“Ask yourself if your opinions are based in any fact. Or if you simply want to be a part of something. Let’s be a part of something better together. A part of a new story being written for women and all people everywhere.”

Lily Allen learned rifle shooting and ate ‘revolting’ food at posh school

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen learned to shoot rifles and ate “revolting” food during her time at a “posh” private school in the UK.
The ‘Smile’ singer, 39, has opened up about her early years revealing she hated her time at Hill House School in London – which was previously attended by King Charles – because the food was awful and their sports days were “weird”.
During an episode of her ‘Miss Me?’ podcast with Miquita Oliver, Lily explained: “Urgh, I went to this one called Hill House, which was actually where Prince Charles went to school. They had this f****** disgusting brown bread that had massive seeds in it, and I was like, I can’t eat this, I’m a Mighty White girl.
“I just found it absolutely revolting.”
When asked if the food at private schools is “posher”, Lily replied: “No! These schools are all about their profit margins. I actually bet that the school dinners were worse at private schools than they were at state schools, because it’s all about coining it.”
She also talked about the school’s activities explaining their sports involved an obstacle course and assembling a gun cannon. Lily added: “It was f****** weird. We also did rifle shooting and fencing. I was quite good at fencing. That was the poshest school I went to.”
However, despite her own dislike of “posh” schools, Lily admitted she’s decided to send her two daughters – Ethel and Marnie – to a private school in New York, where the singer lives with her actor husband David Harbour.
She explained: “When we moved to America they went to public school here until the end of elementary school, and then we switched them to private school.
“That was not because I disagreed with the public schooling system, it was because there is a lottery here in Brooklyn, where we live, and the school that was offered to Ethel was a) too far away for us to commute, and b) I didn’t like the school, I didn’t think it was a very good school.
“So that was the option that was afforded to her and we had the resources to do something else, and I made that decision.”
During a previous episode of the podcast, Lily insisted she’s “not educated” after leaving school at 15 and always regrets not continuing her studies.
She said: “I’m not educated. I left school when I was 15 and I don’t even have one GCSE, not one qualification, and I am ashamed of it … ”
Lily went on to admit she considered going back to school to finish her education after becoming a mum but she felt “too embarrassed”.
The singer added: “I really wanted to go into midwifery or obstetrics because that was something that really interested me but because I didn’t have any diplomas in GCSEs or A Levels it seemed too difficult, too much. I was too lazy.
“And actually too embarrassed. I thought I’d have to go and do my A Levels with a bunch of 18 year olds and I was already in my mid-thirties. I didn’t wanna do that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brittany Cartwright is “not interested in having anything to do” with Jax Taylor.
The 45-year-old reality star is set to appear on season two of ‘The Valley’ after recently leaving a mental health facility, but Jax’s estranged wife isn’t considering a reconciliation at this moment in time.
A source told PEOPLE: “Jax will be returning to filming ‘The Valley’ for season two after completing his stint at a mental health facility. It’s been a tough time for him. He had been in treatment for the last 30 days.
“Brittany was supportive of Jax’s decision to seek help for their son’s sake. However, going forward, she’s not interested in having anything to do with him.”
Brittany and Jax announced their split earlier this year – but she subsequently admitted that a reconciliation remained possible.
Brittany told Us Weekly: “There’s definitely a chance. But I won’t waste my time and get back into a toxic situation.

Brittany feels she doesn’t need Jax in order to thrive.
The 35-year-old reality TV star – who has Cruz, three, with her estranged husband – revealed that she was feeling “really strong” and that she was financially independent, too.
Brittany – who previously starred on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ – said: “I feel really strong.

The Hollywood star – who has been married to Jackie since 2003 – told PEOPLE: “They always look out for me and my health just like I used to with my dad.

Earlier this month, Adam admitted that he used to be much more focused on his health and on working out.
The movie star confessed that he’s now “just got a little bit of thickness all over”.
Adam said on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast: “I used to take working out so serious … and now I can’t f****** do it.

Adam also revealed that he’s been urged to rehire the trainer he used for ‘You Don’t Mess with the Zohan’, his 2008 comedy movie.
The actor got himself in tip-top shape for the role, and his kids are confused as to why he didn’t continue with his workout routine.
He said: “My kids, one daughter, Sadie’s always saying, ‘Dad, get the train from ‘The Zohan’. Why would you ever give that up? Why did you stop?'”

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce on wedding anniversary ‘to sting’ Ben Affleck

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez reportedly chose to file for divorce from Ben Affleck on their second wedding anniversary because she wanted it “to sting”.
The Hollywood couple called it quits back in April after almost two years of marriage but they kept their split secret until Jennifer filed court papers on Tuesday (20.08.24) confirming the relationship was over – and a new report suggests she picked the anniversary of their lavish Georgia wedding on purpose.
A source told DailyMail.co.uk: “Jennifer said she was tired of being humiliated by Ben and she waited until the two year anniversary because she wanted to sting.”
However the insider insisted the jab didn’t bother Ben because he had accepted the marriage was over months ago. They added: “It did not sting him. He’s been done for a long time and deep down she knows this. He let her have this so that she wouldn’t look like the villain.”
The 55-year-old pop superstar was engaged to the Hollywood actor in the early 2000s but the relationship ended shortly before they were due to tie the knot.
They got back together in 2021 before tying the knot in two ceremonies in 2022 – one in Las Vegas and one in Georgia. The divorce filing came exactly two years after the couple’s extravagant second bash on August 20 2022.
The divorce filing lists the official date of their separation as April 26 2024.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Jennifer took the move to file for divorce because she knows it’s time to “move on” but she’s still very “sad” that the marriage is over.
The insider explained: “[She knows] it’s time to move on” for various reasons … She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage. He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself.”

Zoe actually suffered some self-doubts about her directing skills while shooting the movie. However, Channing was on hand to offer her lots of support.
She said: “After the first day of filming, I was just like, ‘Oh, my God. I don’t know what I’ve gotten myself into.’ And then the edit process was very long, and the movie did not work, for a very long time.
“It was like this cycle. There’d be good days, and bad days, and he just kind of had to be like, ‘Which version of Zoe is walking into the house today? Is she excited, or is she a puddle?’”
Earlier this year, a source claimed that Zoe and Channing “could not be more in love”.

Ariana Madix ‘doesn’t take criticism personally’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Madix has learned how to cope with criticism.
The 39-year-old star used to worry about social media trolls – but Ariana has become much more philosophical in recent times.
She told Interview magazine: “When there’s maybe one negative comment, that somehow outweighs the rest.
“I saw something recently on TikTok where someone said, ‘What’s more important, more positive thinking or less negative thinking?’ The answer is less negative thinking, because you could have more positive thinking all the livelong day, but if you still have that little bit of negative thinking, it takes over everything else anyway. I’m better at not always looking now.”
Ariana used to take the criticism much more “personally”.
However, in recent years, she’s learned that social media criticism is rarely “unique or true”.
The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star explained: “I think that I don’t take it personally in the same way that I used to because, first of all, it’s always the same stuff over and over again. It’s never anything new or unique or true, and it’s always something that really just reflects how that person is feeling about themselves.
“There were definitely times where I would take it on personally, almost as a note like, ‘This is a constructive criticism of me as a person and I need to change this about myself.’ But I don’t think that way anymore, which is helpful.”
Meanwhile, Lala Kent previously accused Ariana of behaving like a diva on ‘Vanderpump Rules’.
The 33-year-old star said on the ‘Two Ts in a Pod’ podcast: “What I started getting upset about is now we’re bringing a little bit of divaness to my place of work that I’ve been doing for eight years. And I have a hard time when people think that they are bigger than the show.”

The actress said: “I was losing my mind … freaking out … Never did I ever think that they were going to bring ‘Beetlejuice’ back.”
Winona, 52, also relished the opportunity to work with Jenna.
The Hollywood star explained: “She’s truly such a magnificent, like, insanely talented, brilliant person and just the most authentic person that I’ve known. It was such a joy, it really was. I’ve never had that kind of sacred bond.”
Meanwhile, Jenna is best known for playing Wednesday Addams in the hit Netflix series ‘Wednesday’, and the actress previously admitted that she can see similarities between her real-life self and her on-screen character.
Jenna admitted to having a similar sense of humour to her on-screen character.
She told PEOPLE: “People have been telling me I look like her since I was six years old. And I have a pretty dark sense of humour!”
Despite this, Jenna needed to make some adjustments in order to play Wednesday.
She said: “I had to do things a bit different with my physicality and the way I carried myself.
“She almost has a social awkwardness. So when she does toxic, manipulative things, you know it’s not coming out of malicious intent.”
Jenna also heaped praise on co-star Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the ‘Addams Family’ movies in the early 90s.
She explained: “It was really intimidating because I have so much respect for her as an actress, and being dressed up how she was 30 years ago, it was a little awkward.
“But I felt safe with her on set almost immediately. She was really sweet about it, and such a generous actress.”

Taye Diggs reveals the warning his son Walker, 14, gives him about dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Taye Diggs has been warned “not to date any 20 year olds” by his teenage son.
The 53-year-old actor has son Walker, 14, with ‘Frozen’ star Idina Menzel – whom he was married to from 2003 until 2014 – and when asked him what advice his son gives him, admitted that it is mostly to do to with the ages of the women he chooses to see.
He told People: “You know what? He gives me advice. To not date any 20 year olds!”
The ‘Private Practice’ star and Idina, 53, called time on their marriage after running into some “very complicated” issues and he was later in a relationship with ‘Selling Sunset’ star Amanza Smith, 47, from 2014 to 2019.
He was most recently linked to singer Apryl Jones, 37, for a period of time from late 2021.
His comments come just weeks after former ‘Wicked’ actress Idina – who is now married to fellow Broadway star Aaron Lohr – admitted that her son was “great” but really had to learn to adapt to being the parent of a teenager and remember to take things too “personally” amid those tricky yeas.
She said: “He’s great. He’s a teenager, but he still hugs me once in a while so I’ll take that.
“What surprises me is just how mercurial it is, one minute they want nothing to do with you, and the next minute they really show you how much they need you.
“You really have to be on your toes and be willing to get out of their way and out of your own way and not take things too personally. Know that they feel your love but they also need their space.”
