Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins refused to ‘give up’ during tough times

OHMYGOSSIP — Thomas Rhett refused to “give up” on his marriage during tough times.
The 34-year-old singer tied the knot with Lauren Akins in 2012 and adopted Willa, right, from Uganda around the time they found out she was pregnant with Ada, seven, and while they were both “internally imploding” as he tried to manage his career at the same time, it never occurred to them to throw in the towel.
He told UsWeekly: “We were becoming famous at arguably the hardest moment in our personal lives. Adopting [Willa Gray] and getting pregnant at the same time while having to be in Uganda for a year with me traveling back and forth was so challenging. I’d go to Uganda and be husband and dad, and then go to America and be like, ‘OK, shows and music’. I was internally imploding, and so was Lauren. We’d both come to these breaking points [feeling like] something has to give. It was not a fun time in our marriage.
“Giving up was not an option. That thought has never crossed my mind or Lauren’s. With me being a fixer and Lauren being stubborn, we made it work. The easiest thing to do is quit. But when you don’t and you keep grinding it out, you’ll inevitably become stronger.”
The ‘Overdrive’ hitmaker – who also has Lennon, four, and two-year-old Lillie with Lauren – noted that he is actually “so grateful” for the challenging times and likes to use his platform to remind others that a relationship is filled with ups and downs.
He said: “I’m so grateful we had to go through that because now we have a full bag of tools to use the next time something hard [happens].
“One of my favorite things to do is talk about how hard marriage can be and how hard it is to be a dad and raise children to be good people. There are days that are easier than others and moments of pure joy, and there’s a lot of days that suck.”

The 34-year-old actress attained global fame when she struck up a brief relationship with rap star Kanye West, 47, for a matter of weeks in early 2022 following his split from Kim Kardashian but has now decided that being single is the way to go.
Speaking on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she said: “Oh, no, no no, I have sworn off men. It’s like…if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’m happy. Why would I wanna throw anything in the mix that might mess up my Feng shui, so to speak?”
The ‘Uncut Gems’ star – who has three-year-old son Valentino with her former husband Peter Artemiev – declared just weeks ago that she is a lesbian when a video by TikTok comedienne Gracin went viral.

She said: “Hey, that was me. I was that lesbian. So sorry, boys. Um, won’t happen again.”
Julia recently admitted that she has often struggled with her confidence and didn’t believe others when they said she could achieve things.
Speaking to Variety about her struggles, Julia shared: “I always had people telling me that I could do so much more and I didn’t have that same level of confidence.
“Like everyone around me was always like, ‘You could be a writer, you should write a book about your life, you cold be a movie star,’ and I was just like, ‘You guys are crazy.’ Like I definitely did not have the self-esteem to even see that for myself.

Dennis Quaid admits feeling ‘very strange’ when he became older than his dad ever was

OHMYGOSSIP — Dennis Quaid felt “very strange” when he became older than his dad ever was.
The 70-year-old actor lost his father Buddy when he died at the age of 63 in 1987 and “always felt bad” that his father never reached the milestone birthday that he celebrated in April.
Speaking on ‘Today’, he said: “I turned 63 and I woke up in the middle of the night about six months after and it just hit me. So I counted the days from my dad’s birthday to the time he died, and from my birthday to when I woke up. It was the same number of days. In that night I was older than my dad had been. I still feel like he’s here in my heart and stuff, like that, but it’s… you become… it’s hard to explain.
“Here’s the thing: my dad passed when he was 69. I always felt bad that he didn’t make 70. It’s a very strange feeling to get past the point that your father did.”
The Hollywood star – who is known for his roles in films such as ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ and ‘The Parent Trap’ – also admitted that he has “always enjoyed” fame but explained that the “dark side” of it had led him to struggles with addiction before he found religion.
He said: “Just, you know, ‘Let this go and let that go,’ because there’s nothing to be done about it. I was so in the middle of it and on my way to somewhere, that it was really hard to appreciate. If anything I would tell myself back then, ‘Hey, take it easy’. I did enjoy it, I’ve always had a bit of a sunny disposition about things but then there’s a dark side to it too. I wound up in rehab!
“I grew up in the Baptist Church, and in my teens I become disillusioned [with it].
“Then I got into other things to fill that hole, achievements, drugs, relationships. Then, when I got out of rehab, the words of Jesus really struck me. That started my personal relationship with Him, that grew. It’s a great source of strength for me.”

I called my mom today and was like, ‘Hey mom just so you know, I know I’ve talked to you about this, but you’re not the mom in my book. Just so you know, because there are some heavy things in there and I just want you to know, you’re not the mom don’t worry.”

Taylor Swift breaks silence on planned Vienna attack: ‘I have a tremendous amount of guilt…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift feels a “tremendous amount of guilt” over the planned attack on her Vienna concert.
The 34-year-old pop star was forced to cancel three dates on her ‘Eras’ tour in the Austrian capital earlier this month due to a planned attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium before officials arrested three teenagers, and Taylor took to social media on Wednesday (21.08.24) evening following the conclusion of the European leg of her tour to release a statement.
She wrote on Instagram: “We have officially wrapped the European leg of The Eras Tour. With it came the most passionate crowds I’ve ever played for, new traditions in the show, and an entirely new era added in. It was a more hectic pace than we’d done before, and I’m so proud of my crew/fellow performers for being able to physically perform that show and build our massive stage, take it apart, and make magic with so few days in between for recovery and travel.
“They’re the most impressive people I know and I’m so lucky they gave The Eras Tour their time, their energy, and their expertise.
“Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions.
“Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together.”
The ‘Anti-Hero’ songstress therefore decided to put “all of [her] energy” into keeping all those who came to subsequent concerts as safe as possible and her efforts all resulted in receiving the “most giant bear hug” from all of her audiences at Wembley Stadium.
She said: “I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us. Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.
“In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to.
“My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.
And then London felt like a beautiful dream sequence. All five crowds at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance. The energy in that stadium was like the most giant bear hug from 92,000 people each night, and it brought me back to a place of carefree calm up there.”

Some things are a detachment long-needed, a clarity brought to blurry eyes. Some things are an intervention. Some things are the unexpected answer to a long- chanted prayer. Some things are a healing.
“Some things are a becoming. Some things are planned long before you ever came to be. Some things are a devastation, but others are a kind of vital guidance, the kind of course-correction you did not even know you needed. The kind you did not even realize you were asking for all along.”

Saoirse Ronan: Cold water swimming is my safe space

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan considers cold water swimming to be her “safe space”.

Saoirse found shooting the drama movie to be “an incredibly immersive experience”.
The actress explained: “Everyone got involved, in front of the camera and behind the camera, in what the lead character was experiencing.

The acclaimed actress acknowledged that success can easily change people.

The movie star said: “I think I was protected.
“I have worked with great producers. There are some that will take advantage if they can. I don’t even mean sexually. I mean they’ll get you to work overtime if you’re a child. They’ll not protect your safety if you’re in stunts or in scenes that could turn sexual.
“But my mam was brilliant. Everyone loved my mam. She was always fiercely protective of my rights.”
