The 48-year-old actress is the daughter of actress Peggy Lipton and legendary record producer Quincy Jones – but Rashida has no desire to follow in her dad’s footsteps.
The Hollywood star said on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast: “My dad’s a musical genius. That’s like, the last thing I want to do, is try my hand at that.
“But I love it. Like, I have a deep ache for music and I just don’t ever feel like I’m good enough to do it. Like I’ll never be good enough to do it, so I just don’t.”
Rashida has a huge love of music and has even sang backing vocals for Maroon 5.
However, the actress has insisted that she’s happy to focus her attention on the film and TV industry.
She said: “I love it so much and I kind of like, sing for fun.
“I’ve written for fun, and I’ve sung back-up on some albums and things like that … I can write [music], my reading is limited.”
Earlier this year, Rashida revealed that her dad has always been “extremely protective” of her.
The actress also insisted that she never really aspired to become famous.

Miranda Lambert suffered from ‘burnout’ in 2023

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Lambert reached “a pretty high level of burnout” in 2023.
The 40-year-old singer has revealed that she suffered from burnout last year – even though she didn’t realise it at the time.
Miranda told the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast: “I didn’t realise what it was until I was like, ‘I think this is what they call burnout’ – just from not taking a break or a long enough one.”
The country music star wrapped up her Las Vegas residency last summer. But Miranda now recognises that she didn’t give herself enough of a break.
The ‘More Like Her’ hitmaker said: “Just a couple of days at a time just wasn’t enough for like, the amount of busyness.”
Miranda now accepts that she needs to find a better “balance” moving forwards.
She reflected: “I just feel like we have to learn the balance.
“It’s really hard when you’re so driven to relax into doing nothing. But if you don’t recharge, it’s like then you’re only operating at 50 percent anyway.”
Miranda previously claimed that her sudden rise to fame had a detrimental impact on her health.
The country music star – who released her self-titled debut album in 2001 – said in her ‘Y’all Eat Yet?’ cookbook: “I’ve had to deal with the ups and downs of [weight and body image] my whole life, and definitely the road makes it harder to find good food and find time to exercise and all of that. It took me a minute to adjust all of that.”
Despite this, Miranda feels her fans helped her to overcome her insecurities.
She said: “It was the fans who helped me with that, because girls would come up to me and be like, ‘Thanks for just being normal-sized and confident in who you are, no matter what size you are.’ And that always saved me for my own self when I would get doubtful or worried about it.”

Despite this, Danielle is remaining optimistic, insisting that she’s “going to be fine”.
She said: “I’m going to be fine. I’m having surgery to remove it.

Bobby Bones: I’m Dancing with the Stars’ greatest champion

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Bones thinks he’s the “greatest champion” in the history of ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Bobby – who danced on the show alongside Sharna Burgess – said in an Instagram video: “I was the worst dancer. I take pride in that.
“Now, I tried as hard as anybody in the history of the show, but I can’t dance now, couldn’t dance then.
“But you know who took down the big evil empire of dance? Well, it’s not evil or an empire, but me and you! We did it together.”
Bobby acknowledged that his fans propelled him to success on the hit TV show.
He said: “I’m the greatest champion ever. I didn’t say I was the greatest dancer, but the greatest champion ever.
“I’m the man of the people. I’m the man that you guys selected.”
Bobby also noted that his success actually prompted the show to change its rules.
He reflected: “I’m a terrible dancer, I was a terrible dancer but they changed the rules after I left because the fan vote was so good.”
Bobby took to social media shortly after Julianne Hough questioned his success in 2018.
The 36-year-old star – who didn’t actually appear on season 27 of the show – admitted that she strongly disagreed with the decision to crown Bobby as the winner of the series.
During an appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’, Julianne said: “I think it’s because of the fan base. It’s all about fan base on that show. He was not the best dancer.”

Queen Elizabeth ‘found Donald Trump to be very rude’

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth thought Donald Trump was “very rude”, according to a new biography.
The former monarch – who died in September 2022, aged 96 – hosted the former US President twice during her reign, but she’s said to have been unimpressed by his behaviour.
In a new book entitled ‘A Voyage Around The Queen’ – which is being serialised in the Daily Mail newspaper – Craig Brown explains: “Over the course of her reign, Her Majesty entertained many controversial foreign leaders, including Bashar al-Assad, Robert Mugabe, Idi Amin, Donald Trump, Emperor Hirohito and Vladimir Putin.
“She may not have found their company convivial; upon their departure, she may even have voiced a discreet word of disapproval.
“A few weeks after President Trump’s visit, for instance, she confided in one lunch guest that she found him ‘very rude’: she particularly disliked the way he couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder, as though in search of others more interesting.”
By contrast, the author suggested that Trump, 78, had a completely different impression of their relationship.
He said: “For his part, Donald Trump was confident he had been her favourite guest ever.”
Trump previously claimed that he had “a great relationship with the Queen” during an interview with Fox News.
The billionaire businessman – who served as the 45th US President between 2017 and 2021 – said: “We were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn’t had so much fun in 25 years.
“Then I got criticised for it because they said we were having too much fun … I feel I know her so well and she certainly knows me very well right now, but we have a very good relationship with the United Kingdom.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Watts has written a new book about menopause.
The 55-year-old actress is set to release ‘Dare I Say It: Everything I Wish I’d Known about Menopause’ in January, and Naomi hopes it will help to remove the taboo about the subject.
She told PEOPLE: “Women have had to suffer in silence and shame for too long about the changes they undergo during menopause, with little access to information, support or even much of an open conversation.”
Naomi feels “grateful” to everyone who shared their experiences with her while she wrote the book.
The actress said: “I can’t wait for you to hear about the highs and lows and everything in between about this life stage and get some real, practical advice and comfort about how to take on these changes head-on.”
Naomi also hopes that the book will help other women to navigate menopause.
She explained: “I want this book to read like you’re sitting down over coffee and having an intimate chat with your girlfriend.
“I hope it will be of help for anyone trying to get a hold on this phase of life and make it a time of liberation rather than purely a time of trial.”
Earlier this year, Naomi revealed that she suffered sleepless nights during the menopause.
The movie star’s sleeping struggles ultimately led her to suffer anxiety and stress.
She told Forbes magazine: “For me, that [menopause] started with dry, sensitive, and irritable skin. But I would say the most unpleasant symptom I experienced was sleeplessness, because that is connected to so many other issues.
“When you don’t sleep, you can’t concentrate, you get brain fog, you get migraines, you get anxiety, you get stressed and depressed.”

Winona Ryder ‘never’ expected Stranger Things to be such a success

OHMYGOSSIP — Winona Ryder “never” expected ‘Stranger Things’ to become such a success.
The 52-year-old actress has starred as Joyce Byers on the hit Netflix series since its inception in 2016 and cannot believe that almost a decade has gone by as she and her co-stars near the end of filming the final season.
She told E! News: “We’re still filming, it’s still happening till the end of the year. It’s going to be bittersweet. It is the 10th year of that, which is wild. I could never I never imagined it would, you know, it’s sort of like ‘Beetlejuice’. I don’t think any of us anticipated that show becoming what it did.”
The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star – who emerged as a teen idol in the early 1990s with appearances in a string of cult films such as ‘Heathers’ and ‘Beetlejuice’ and famously dated Johnny Depp during her early years of fame – recently explained that had been a big decision for her to agree to do the show in the first place because she has never played the same character for such a long period of time before.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “It’s an absolute first for me to play a character for that long. It was huge to say yes to just one episode … they only gave me the pilot episode. I didn’t at the time know what streaming was. It was terrifying in that regard.”
The Hollywood actress even insisted before agreeing to sign on that she would be allowed to take time off to film a sequel to ‘Beetlejuice’ – which is due for release later this year – before it was even certain that the project would ever come to fruition.
She said: “There have been moments over the last 15 years where we thought it was going to happen, but that’s the thing … it had to be perfect with everybody in order for it to happen. I remember at my first meeting with the Duffer Bros. I said, ‘As long as if “Beetlejuice 2″ happens you’ll let me go do that.’ They agreed. Luckily it worked out. That was my one condition.”

Chappell Roan: The movie industry is a scary place

OHMYGOSSIP — Chappell Roan thinks the movie industry is “scary”.
The 26-year-old singer used to harbour ambitions of becoming a movie star, but Chappell has now suggested that she’s actually had a lucky escape.
The ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ hitmaker told Interview magazine: “I originally started doing music because I wanted to get my foot in the door for acting, and then I moved to Los Angeles, and I was like, ‘F*** that.’ The industry is legitimately so scary, and it is so out of my control.”
Chappell feels musicians have much more freedom than actors.
She said: “I can put out music whenever I want. I don’t have to wait for a casting director to be like, ‘It would be great if we cast you, and then we’ll decide your schedule for the next three months.'”
Despite this, Chappell remains open to the idea of making the occasional cameo appearance.
The singer shared: “I think it would have to be really specific and really silly. I would maybe do a cameo.”

Ariana Madix ‘always wanted’ to star on Broadway before she shot to fame on reality TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Madix “always wanted” to do theatre before finding fame on reality television.
The 39-year-old star became known for appearing on the hit Bravo series ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and eventually made her Broadway debut earlier this year when she was cast as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’ but explained that growing up in Melbourne, Florida she took up community theatre and then ended up doing any number of odd jobs as she tried to make it as an actress in New York.
Speaking to Broadway legend and former ‘Wicked’ star Kristin Chenoweth for Interview magazine, she said: “Melbourne is a town that butts up against other towns, so it all kind of blends together. I feel like there’s like 700,000 [people] or so. So I wouldn’t say it’s small, but it’s certainly the kind of place where you meet people and you’re like, ‘What high school did you go to?’
“For us, Orlando was kind of like the big city. Like, they had the good mall. So growing up, I danced as a little kid, as many of us did. Then I started riding horses and that became my love, but I always wanted to do theatre. I did theatreas a kid in junior high, elementary school, high school, and onward into college. It’s funny, actually, because your director, Michael thatre… I did ‘Once on This Island’ in high school, and that’s one of his shows.”
“I was not going to be in ‘A Chorus Line’. I don’t have legs for days. So I tried to make that happen, but I had to survive. So living in New York is when I learned how to bartend, and that’s how I was surviving. I was just hustling and I had a million different jobs. I was promoting cigarettes, I was go-go dancing in Meatpacking at clubs, I was doing sketch comedy videos for websites.
Ariana explained that she was doing “whatever she could” to make a living in the Big Apple before moving across the country to try to make it in television and “freaked out”when she was eventually given the chance to tread the boards.
She said: I was doing whatever I could to make money while also, in my mind, trying to be like, ‘You’re an actor, you want to perform’.
“So eventually, I moved to L.A. with the dream that I would get some TV credits. If I really, really gave it a shot, and I really, really committed myself to L.A., maybe I would be able to come back to New York one day and make my theatre dreams happen. So when the call came that there was interest, well, first of all, I cried. I freaked out. And then I just thought, “I have to give this my all because this is the moment where I can show them that I can do this.”
