Hailey Bieber appears to have hinted she has given birth to first child with husband Justin Bieber

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber appears to have hinted she has given birth to her first child with husband Justin Bieber.
The 27-year-old model and her singer partner, 30, announced in early May they were expecting a kid – and revealed Hailey was six months along at the time, making her due date sometime in early August.
Hailey has now posted online to say: “We have a surprise” – leaving her fans convinced she is now a new mum.
The daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, 58, shared the eyebrow-raising message on her Instagram Stories on Sunday (18.08.24) while promoting her Rhode Skin beauty range.
Hailey first reposted an upload from Rhode with the message “Hi”.
The model’s Rhode Booth has been on a pop-up summer tour and recently appeared in Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Miami, London, and Ibiza.
It will soon make its way to Toronto on 20 August, and it’s where Hailey said she would be bringing her “surprise”.
She added the “We have a surprise” text over the Rhode post about the Canada pop-up – alongside eyeball and pink bow emojis.
Hailey has told ABC News about being an expectant mum: “I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time.
“I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which is when I announced it.”
The model has recently only been posting content about Rhode on her social media.
Justin has also been quiet on Instagram, and his last post was a guided prayer video uploaded on 8 August.
He captioned it: “I believe this guided prayer will give you confidence and remind you that you can access your god given authority to lead in your community, your workplace or your family.”
At the end of July, fans were convinced they had worked out the gender of Hailey and Justin’s child after seeing photos from Hailey’s baby shower.
One photo in Hailey’s post about the party showed a milk and fruit cake that featured on the blueberries instead of red strawberries – sparking speculation it was code she was expecting a boy.

Simon Cowell takes on new TV judging role – for Domino’s

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has taken on a new TV judging role – for Domino’s.
The long-time talent show judge, 64, made his name as television’s ‘Mr Nasty’ thanks to his scathing comments as the boss of ‘X Factor’, and has now poked fun at the image in a new batch of commercials for the pizza chain.
Two advertising spots he’s shot for Domino’s are packed with the kind of phrases he used throughout his stints as a judge on the show and ‘American Idol’.
One of them shows him seeking perfection as one of the pizza chain’s ‘Quality Captains’.
A voiceover at the start of the ad announces: “At Domino’s, our stores now have quality captains, those who demand perfection.”
Simon then challenges three employees to “impress” him – with their first pizza-building efforts failing to measure up.
He tells them: “Terrible, pathetic, I hate it.”
Simon then adds about one of their pizzas: “I don’t have to think on this one” – before declaring as the workers hold hands like reality TV contestants: “It’s a yes.”
A customer is also seen looking surprised by Simon taking pizza orders.
They say on the phone after he hands her a pizza: “Guess who works at Domino’s?”
In another 30-second ad spot Simon opens it by telling one employee about their pizza: “Topping distribution: horrible… that’s a million per cent No.”
But the workers end up trying again to impress him, with Simon concluding:
“It’s a definite yes.”
Domino’s senior vice president Kate Trumbull said the collaboration was obvious as Simon “demands excellence”.
He added: “Domino’s demands greatness. They know exactly what it means to deliver the perfect pizza. Domino’s is a definite yes from me.”

Jeff Goldblum thinks being a dad in his 70s is ‘amazing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Goldblum finds being a father in his 70s “amazing”.
‘The Fly’ actor, 71, is dad to sons Charlie, nine, and River, seven, who he has with his 41-year-old wife Emilie – and had his first child when he was 62.
He told The Independent about the joys of parenthood in later life: “It’s amazing. Every emotion comes up, and you are forced to examine everything that you model and could be better at.
“It’s a great task and opportunity.”
He opened up about his love of fatherhood after recently saying his kids will have to work to be financially independent when they grow up despite his movie fortune.
The ‘Jurassic Park’ star – worth around $40 million – told iHeart’s ‘Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi’ podcast: “Hey, you know, you’ve got to row your own boat. It’s an important thing to teach kids.
“I’m not going to do it for you. And you’re not going to want me to do it for you.
“You’ve got to figure out how to find out what’s wanted and needed and where that intersects with your love and passion and what you can do.
“And even if it doesn’t, you might have to do that anyway.”
Jeff previously admitted he’s glad he waited until later in life to start a family, telling the i newspaper in 2018: “I keep doing the math, and keep extrapolating where they’re going to be, and where I’m going to be.
“And when I buy a watch, I wonder who’s going to get it… I’m glad I waited. It feels great to do it right now, because all the things I’m considering are perfectly suited to the big questions and challenges of having kids, and what you want to expose them to.
“What you want to leave them with, what life is, and what kind of life you contribute to them.”

Michael Keaton doesn’t care ‘one way or another’ about ‘Batgirl’ movie being axed

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Keaton doesn’t care “one way or another” about his ‘Batgirl’ movie being shelved.
The 72-year-old actor – probably best known for starring as Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 movie take on the vigilante – reprised his role as the caped crusader for the film before the Warner Bros. Discovery studio axed the project in 2022, despite it almost being finished.
But Michael told GQ about not being fussed about it being pulled as he got paid anyway: “No, I didn’t care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check.”
Actress Leslie Grace, 29, starred as Batgirl in the canned film, which also featured JK Simmons, 69, Brendan Fraser, 55, and other household names.
But Michael did sympathise with the project’s directors Adil El Arbi, 36, and Bilall Fallah, 38, saying: “I like those boys. They’re nice guys. I pull for them. I want them to succeed, and I think they felt very badly, and that made me feel bad. “Me? I’m good.”
Adil and Bilall made this year’s ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ starring Will Smith, 55, and his regular sidekick in the cop-buddy franchise, 59-year-old Martin Lawrence.
They spoke out about the cancellation of ‘Batgirl’ at the time it was axed, saying they were “saddened” and “shocked” at the studio’s decision to axe it.
The pair said: “Our amazing cast and crew did a tremendous job and worked so hard to bring Batgirl to life.
“We are forever grateful to have been part of that team. (It) was a dream to work with such fantastic actors.”
They also praised lead actress Leslie’s “passion, dedication and humanity” and added: “In any case, as huge fans of Batman since we were little kids, it was a privilege and an honour to have been a part of the DC Extended Universe, even if it was for a brief moment.”

Matthew Perry’s drug death investigators deny they launched probe due to his fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry’s drug death investigators have denied they probed his passing due to his A-list status.
Five people including ‘Friends’ actor Matthew’s long-time assistant, a former movie director, two doctors and an alleged dealer dubbed the ‘Ketamine Queen’ have been charged after the star’s death in his hot tub on 28 October after he took three huge injections of anaesthetic.
Martin Estrada, the US Attorney for the Central District of California, has now told People about how the suspects were not pursued because Matthew’s death had grabbed global headlines: “This was not investigated and looked at because it was Matthew Perry.
“It was investigated because we had a victim in our jurisdiction in Southern California who died from drugs provided to him by drug dealers.
“We don’t do this just for celebrities. In the past two years we brought over 60 of these cases. This happens to be the one that involves a celebrity.
“For us, every life matters.”
The US attorney added: “There’s two main reasons we do these. First, for the victims and their families and loved ones – it’s so important for them to get vindication, some sort of closure.
“Too often these cases are ignored and too often we just blame the victim. We don’t do that anymore.
“The second reason is to deter this from happening and to send a message that if you’re a drug dealer and you kill someone by selling them drugs, you’re going to have to pay for that.
“That deterrent message is incredibly important for us and it’s to try to stop it.”
Matthew was found floating face-down in the hot tub at his $6 million home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles after an accidental overdose of horse tranquiliser ketamine.
An autopsy revealed the actor – who shot to fame playing wisecracking Chandler Bing on ‘Friends’ – died from acute effects of ketamine, a dissociative anaesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects.
Drowning, coronary artery disease and effects from buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder, were also contributing factors in his passing.
Matthew was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy at the time of his death, which can be used to treat depression and anxiety.

Taylor Swift treats two girls caught up in dance class stabbing to ‘magical’ night

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift treated two girls caught up in a stabbing at a dance class based on her choreography to a “magical” night at one of her concerts.
The singer, 34, said she was left in “complete shock” after three little girls were killed at a Taylor-themed lesson in Southport, Merseyside, last month, and is since said to have reached out to families involved in the carnage.
One mother Sami Foster has posted a now-viral TikTok video featuring a carousel of photos from a backstage visit to one of Taylor’s sold-out ‘Eras Tour’ shows at Wembley stadium, London, along with her girls Hope and Autumn.
Taylor’s mother Andrea Swift is also seen posing in the gallery with Sami’s family.
One of the girls appears to he sporting a bandage on her forearm in one of the snaps – on which is written a lyric from Taylor’s ‘Cardigan’ song that goes: “You drew stars around my scars.”
Sami also used the singer’s ‘Enchanted’ song as background music for the post, which she captioned: “The biggest thank you to @TaylorSwift and her mum for making the most magical night possible for us all (heart-shaped hands emoji.) Thankyou for bringing Hope and Autumn pure happiness last night and always (pink heart emoji.)”
It’s not known how many families Swift has met with during her London run, but reports say Sami’s is not the only one to have been treated to a meet-and-greet the singer.
Taylor has not yet publicly addressed the meetings.
It was reported before the start of her five-night run at Wembley she had privately reached out to the families of the three girls killed in the 29 July attack – Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and six-year-old Bebe King.
Eight other children and two adults were also injured in the assault, with six listed in critical condition at the time.
Merseyside police announced on 6 August the injured children had been released from the hospital.
About 25 children were believed to be in the class at the time of the attack and a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with three counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.
Taylor said on her Instagram Stories on 30 July about the attack: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just in complete shock… the loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, the first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Alan Cumming on mission to highlight ‘abuses happening at private zoos’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Cumming is on a mission to highlight “abuses happening at private zoos”.
‘The Traitors US’ host and actor, 59, who starred alongside male chimpanzee Tonka in the 1997 film ‘Buddy’, says he can “empathise” with the creatures – and now wants his new ‘Chimp Crazy’ HBO documentary to spotlight the chimp trade and the ill-treatment of the animals in captivity.
He opened up to the New York Times about the project, which follows exotic animal broker Tonia Haddix as she is involved in a “years-long saga” involving her, Tonka, PETA and Alan – with the four-part series also focusing on private primate ownership and the “folly” of “imposing human traits onto captive apes” who have “no agency over where or how they live”.
Alan said: “I really empathise with the people in this documentary, especially as someone who has really, truly loved the chimp myself.”
He said he found Tonka “very gentle” and added he agreed to appear in the HBO documentary as he was already working with PETA on a campaign to rescue the famous chimp.
Alan teamed up with PETA in 2022 to help find out what happened to his primate friend – and even offered $10,000 for information leading to his discovery, before a team of PETA rescuers eventually discovered Tonka’s location and relocated him to a sanctuary.
Alan added he wanted to put the spotlight back on the chimp trade and “the abuses happening at private zoos” by contributing to the documentary.
He also stressed he hasn’t worked with wild animals since ‘Buddy’, adding: “We don’t need to (use them in films) anymore. I have lived through that change, being someone who actually was in a film with wild animals to someone who is actively campaigning for that not to happen.
“It’s a big journey. I was naïve and I was ignorant. I really do understand the deep love.
“But that’s hurting the animal – the animal’s not getting to live the life they were supposed to live.”

Eric André ‘racially profiled’ as he travelled through Melbourne Airport

OHMYGOSSIP — Eric André was “racially profiled” as he travelled through Melbourne Airport.
The 41-year-old comic, famed for ‘The Eric André Show’, said in an Instagram video he was cornered and subjected to a check by a sniffer dog after he had finished a 25-hour trip involving stops in Los Angeles, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia for a shoot.
He claimed in his clip he was “detained” and “pulled out of a line-up and put in a special line” in Melbourne, where he claims he was “sniffed thoroughly” by a dog.
Eric added: “Those dogs are pretty much ineffective. It’s one of the many times I’ve been racially profiled at the airport.
“So this is a message for all Black, brown and Indigenous people travelling through Melbourne today, especially if you’re traveling through Qantas International by Terminal 2: Please be careful.
“They are searching Black, brown and Indigenous people. Please let me know if anybody knows the names of those officers with the dogs or what that program is.
“If anybody has information on a discrimination Australian lawyer, I’m all ears.”
Eric has previously said he was racially profiled at the Atlanta Hartsfield–Jackson International Airport in 2021 and later took legal action over the incident.
He also asked his followers if they could send him figures on how many people “of colour” officials at Melbourne airport had “put into this dog-sniffing line” when compared with the number of white passengers held back.
Eric went on: “Anybody hiring me to work in Australia going forward, whether it’s a production or a tour, please don’t make me go through the Melbourne Airport alone.
“Please provide a police escort or some type of security escort for me, or have me fly into Brisbane or Sydney directly.
“I do not feel safe in the Melbourne Airport. I do not want to be humiliated or racially discriminated against anymore at these airports.
“I don’t want to cut my hair and wear a three-piece suit so that I’m treated like a first-class citizen.
“I shouldn’t be made to feel that I am unaccepted by entering a country. Shame on the people at the Melbourne Airport that have this cockamamie procedure. I doubt it yields any safer world for anybody in Melbourne or Australia.”
Melbourne Airport commented under Eric’s Instagram post hours after he uploaded it on Sunday (18.08.24), saying it “does not tolerate racism in any form”.
It added: “We are following up your complaint with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) who are in charge of processing all international arrivals at Melbourne Airport and other Australian international gateways.
“Melbourne Airport is proudly the gateway to one of the most multicultural cities in the world. We welcome ALL passengers to Melbourne, and we expect everyone to be treated equally.”

Jeremy Renner’s daughter forced to ‘grow up’ after he was almost killed in snowplough accident

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Renner’s daughter was forced to “grow up in a lot of ways” after he was almost killed in a snowplough accident.
The ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ actor, 53, was pulverised by his hulking 14,300lb PistenBullly machine as he was helping his nephew dislodge a stuck vehicle from the snow on New Year’s Day 2023 – leaving him with 38 broken bones, a collapsed lung and massive chest trauma that took him months to fight back from.
He has now told Parents about how the accident and his recovery sparked a “role reversal” between himself and his 11-year-old daughter Ava: “I became the kid for the first six months. My daughter had to take care of me.
“There was something quite beautiful in that role reversal. She had to grow up in a lot of ways. I overcame a lot of obstacles and got to show my daughter what resilience means by going through this journey with me.”
Jeremy, who has Ava with his actress ex Sonni Pacheco, 36, added he doesn’t have a “bad day anymore” despite his gruelling recovery.
But he added about needing his family’s support: “As any parent knows, it takes a village.”
Jeremy went on about having a support structure in his life: “I think it’s very important to build one. You’re going to need many, many people – a cool uncle, a strong aunt – so that your kids have other voices in their lives that will be important to them and their perspectives.
“You can’t do it all for your kids 100 per cent of the time. As much as we want to, we can’t.”
He said his role as a dad has been “amplified” by her recent independencem adding: “I really understand my place as her father. It is my duty to teach her how to love, how to be strong, how to overcome.
“Leading by example has always been important to me. That’s only amplified.
“My love is deeper, my conversations with my daughter are more adult. I now struggle to find the fun, goofy dad version that I was when she was four or eight.
“I have a harder time with that because I’ve been through some physical struggles. I just struggle to find the energy to be the jungle gym dad. But she’s 11. Maybe I don’t need to.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Oprah Winfrey owes her career to the late Phil Donahue.
The chat show queen, 70, joined the flood of famous faces paying tribute to late daytime TV icon Phil after it emerged on Monday (19.08.24) he had died aged 88 on Sunday 18 August – and said she believed she would have never had her show without the influence of the television trailblazer.
She told People: “There wouldn’t have been an ‘Oprah Show’ without Phil Donahue being the first to prove that daytime talk and women watching should be taken seriously.
“He was a pioneer. I’m glad I got to thank him for it. Rest in peace Phil.”
Oprah shared the same statement on her Instagram, along with a black-and-white photo of her and Phil hugging.

His cause of death has not yet been revealed, but the family’s statement added his passing came “following a long illness”.
They also said he died “peacefully”.
Phil broke barriers by broaching controversial topic on his talk shows, which started in the 1950s.

Star Wars series The Acolyte cancelled after one season

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Acolyte’ has been cancelled after just one season.
The ‘Star Wars’ spin off show – which debuted earlier this year and showed the rise of the Sith around 100 years before ‘The Phantom Menace’ – has been scrapped despite the first series ending on a cliffhanger.
As reported by Deadline, Lucasfilm has decided not to continue with the Disney+ programme after the conclusion of its first run.
The show was created, written, and directed by Leslye Headland, and followed twins Osha and Mae (both played by Amandla Stenberg), who were separated as kids and believed each other had been killed.
Reaction to ‘The Acolyte’ was mixed, while there was some vile backlash to its inclusive cast and story featuring actors of colour and LGBTQ+ characters.
Lucasfilm is still producing ‘Star Wars’ series for Disney+, with ‘Skeleton Crew’ coming on December 3.
‘Andor’ – which stars Diego Luna – will conclude in 2025 with its second and final season, while a second series of ‘Ahsoka’ is also in development.
Headland previously opened up on her approached to the first season, and how she took a similar approach to ‘Breaking Bad’ by not leaving much on the table.
She explained to Entertainment Weekly: “I remember reading that Vince Gilligan in writing and doing the first season of ‘Breaking Bad’ really didn’t plan on, ‘We’re getting seven more seasons, and this is what’s going to happen to Walter White’.
“It was much more, ‘Here’s everything we got. We’re throwing everything at the wall.’ And then with the pickup, he mapped out, ‘Okay, here’s what’s going to happen over the course of however many seasons.’
“So I took that approach with this. I threw everything into season 1, because who knows what’s going to happen?
“And then I’d say there are four to five major mysteries and plot points that have to get hit in season 2, but until we get a proper pickup, I worry that spending a lot of time in that world — especially being in a period where I’ve worked so long on this project that honestly I’m exhausted by it coming out — to kind of jump right into like, ‘All right, season 2….’ ”

Chappell Roan blasts ‘creepy behaviour’ from ‘entitled’ fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Chappell Roan has called out “abuse and harassment” from “entitled” fans.
The 26-year-old singer – whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz – has blasted fans for a certain “type of behaviour” towards celebrities and insisted it shouldn’t be accepted by those living in the public eye.
In a series of videos on TikTok, she said: “I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous.
“I don’t care that this crazy type of behaviour comes along with the job, the career field I’ve chosen.
“That does not make it OK. That doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean I want it. That doesn’t mean that I like it.”
The ‘Good Look, Babe!’ pop star insisted it’s “weird” for fans to assume they “know a person” simply because they consume their art.
She continued: “I don’t want whatever the f*** you think you’re supposed to be entitled to whenever you see a celebrity.
“I don’t give a f*** if you think it’s selfish for me to say no for a photo or for your time, or for a hug.
“It’s weird how people think that you know a person just because you see them online and you listen to the art they make. That’s f****** weird. I’m allowed to say no to creepy behaviour.”
She pointed out how fans behaving in the same way towards a “random lady” in the street would rightly be frowned up.
She added: “If you saw a random woman on the street, would you yell at her from the car window? Would you harass her in public?
Would you go up to a random lady and say, ‘Can I get a photo with you?’ and she’s like, ‘No, what the f***.’ And then you get mad at this random lady.
“Would you stalk her family? Would you follow her around? Would you try to dissect her life and bully her online? This is a lady you don’t know, and she doesn’t know you at all.”

Matthew Perry’s doctors lose right to prescribe medication

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry’s doctors are no longer legally allowed to prescribe medication.
Medics Mark Chavez, 54, and Salvador Plasencia, 42, are facing charges over their alleged roles in distributing ketamine to the late ‘Friends’ actor, who died on 28 October 2023, aged 54, from the “acute effects” of the anaesthetic.
And now the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has clarified to E! News that they have given up their right to advise and authorise the use of a medicine or treatment.
The US Department of Justice announced last Thursday (15.08.24) that Plasencia is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine plus seven counts of distribution of ketamine and two counts of altering and falsifying documents or records related to the federal investigation.
Chavez agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine – confirming in his plea agreement he sold ketamine to Plasencia off-market for Matthew to use.
The actor is thought to have paid the pair upward of $55,000 in cash in the weeks leading up to his sudden death.
US Attorney Martin Estrada said about the duo: “These defendants cared more about profiting off of Mr Perry than caring for his well-being.
“Matthew Perry’s journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday, to street dealers who gave him ketamine in unmarked vials.”
Three other people have been charged over Matthew’s death in the hot tub of his LA mansion, including his live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, 59, who has admitted regularly injecting the actor with ketamine despite having no medical training.
Jasveen Sangha, 41, known as the ‘Ketamine Queen’, and Eric Fleming, 54 have also been charged with supplying Matthew with ketamine.

Blue Ivy Carter’s grandmother reveals her hidden musical talent

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter is secretly an exceptional pianist.
Her grandmother, Tina Knowles, is “really proud” of her 12-year-old granddaughter and cannot wait until she shares her musical talents with the world.
She told E! News of Blue Ivy’s hidden talent: “She’s self-taught and she sounds like a concert pianist.
“She paints, she draws, she does poetry. She’s just an artistic soul.”
She gushed: “I’m really, really proud of her. I can’t wait ’til the world gets to really hear.”
Blue Ivy is also a dancer and was part of the backup troupe for her superstar mom on her ‘Renaissance Tour’.
The power couple’s twins, Rumi and Sir, seven, are also artistic.
Tina said: “They’re all artists. How could they not?”
The 70-year-old fashion designer praising Blue Ivy’s talents comes after she was cast as Kiara in ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’.
She is set to voice the daughter of her real-life mother’s character Nala in the highly anticipated Disney prequel about how Mufasa (Aaron Pierre) became King of the Pride Lands.
Donald Glover is returning as Simba, Kiara’s father.
The story will be told through the lens of Simba, Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumbaa (Seth Rogen), while John Kani will reprise his role as Refiki with Kagiso Lediga voicing a young version of the mandrill.
Director Barry Jenkins explained the decision to cast Blue Ivy in the movie, and noted he first realised her vocal talents in the audiobook for Matt A. Cherry’s ‘Hair Love’.
He told Empire magazine: “She did an absolutely amazing job. She just felt like this really curious young person.”
He was also keen on the prospect of having her cast alongside her real-life mother.
He added: “Watching [Beyoncé] coexist with her daughter, and just how lovely and gentle and encouraging she was really special.
“I think it bled into the performances they gave as well.
“I think this will be this really beautiful time capsule for the two of them, at this moment when they get to share this part of their relationship as these characters.”
In terms of the upcoming movie’s plot, Jenkins revealed that it “exists in parallel timelines” by focusing on Mufasa in the past, and Kiara in the present day, in a similar vein to 1998 direct to video animated sequel ‘The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride’.
However, he teased: “There’s some stuff from the canon that is very much referenced or alluded to, but it’s its own thing.”
‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ will hit the big screen on December 20, 2024.

Machine Gun Kelly reveals conversation with daughter that sparked his sobriety

OHMYGOSSIP — Machine Gun Kelly decided to stop using drugs after his daughter confronted him about his substance abuse.
The 34-year-old musician has been clean since August last year, and he has now revealed how his 15-year-old daughter Casie – who he has with ex Emma Cannon – started him on the road to sobriety when she was around 11 or 12.
Appearing on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast, he said: “It started with my daughter saying, ‘Dad, you know I can tell when you’re high’ – it broke my heart. It was the ultimate let down.”
The ‘Lonely Road’ singer admitted it took him “a while afterward” to make the changes required in his life as he moved towards sobriety, noting that “obviously drugs have a vice grip on you”.
Recalling his conversation with Casie, he described it as his first “step”, adding: “That was step one for me.”
He continued: “As a father and as a man, to be the father I wish my dad would have been, I have to break this generational curse for my kid.”
Kelly – who is engaged to movie star Megan Fox – recently revealed that he hasn’t had any alcohol in almost 12 months.
During an appearance on the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast, he shared: “I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drank since last August.”
Kelly actually spent time in rehab following his European tour in 2023.
The rapper explained: “I didn’t tell anybody outside of the [people] closest to me.
“That was my first time I ever went to rehab. They just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it.”
Kelly subsequently acknowledged that his sobriety journey is a “constant tightrope walk”.
He said: “I met with a lot of psychiatrists, some who gave up on me and many therapists who did the same.
“But I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is and have made peace with it. It’s a constant tightrope walk.”

Younger artists reignite my fire, says Miranda Lambert

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Lambert has been able to mentor a “younger generation” of artists because she doesn’t have any children of her own.
The 40-year-old singer has revealed that she’s happy to share her knowledge and her experience of the music industry with the next generation of stars.
Miranda said on the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast: “Since I don’t have children of my own, I want to use that part of what I’ve learned for, you know, younger generations, especially of artists because nobody tells you how this goes.
“Nobody sits there and gives you a handbook of, like, ‘Well, when you make it to this level, this is what’s gonna happen.’ Just seeing the fire in the eyes of, like, someone just starting out, it reignites your fire.”
Miranda admitted that she feels inspired by younger artists.
The ‘Famous in a Small Town’ hitmaker said: “Being around that new fire and young people that are so hungry and so inspired is like, ‘I want some of that,’ you know. And I wanna give them some of the wisdom and some of the reminders [to] enjoy the ride.”
Despite her success, Miranda still feels able to relate to younger artists, and she’s determined to lend her support to them.
She said: “I wanna just be there for anybody that just needs a sounding board because I’ve been there.”
Earlier this year, Miranda hailed Beyonce for bringing “more eyeballs” to country music.
The Grammy-winning star released her country-influenced album, ‘Cowboy Carter’, in March, and Miranda feels it’s helped to increase interest in the genre.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Miranda explained: “The more people that are interested in country music, the better for all of us.”
