Gillian Anderson feels sex ‘adapts and changes’ as she ages

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson feels sex “adapts and changes” as she ages.
‘The X-Files’ actress, 56, has just released her book ‘Want’, which is a compilation of thousands of sexual fantasies she asked women to submit to her anonymously online.
She told The Guardian about how she has loved sex at all stages of her life: “For me, sex has never felt like a static entity, but rather something that adapts and changes as I grow and change, with every new phase and stage of my life.
“A huge part of this has always been in the thinking and the feeling, not just the doing.
“As an actor, there is an inherent permission at the core of my job to give myself over to an alternate reality, which is the very definition of fantasy.
“The women whom I embody, whose worlds I step into, also have inner lives, desires and fantasies, which are vital to understanding what makes them tick.”
Gillian, who stars in Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’ series, added her past sex symbol status now baffles her.
She told The Guardian she considers being voted sexiest woman by FHM magazine in 1996 “preposterous”.
After Gillian was catapulted into fame in 1993 playing FBI agent Dana Scully in ‘The X-Files’ she became a fixation of lads’ magazines.
She said about being made an object of lust: “It felt so preposterous to me. If you saw my life and where I am half the time, between work and set and kids and driving and drop-offs and pick-ups and all that sort of stuff – the fact that you’d end up with those pictures is just so.”
Mother-of-three Gillian gave birth to her first child Piper during the second season of ‘The X-Files’ and spent the rest of the series as a working mum.
She added about doing sexy photoshoots at the time: “(Those were) just part of the fantasy. It doesn’t feel like it represents me at all.”

Oasis ‘promised £50m payday to reform’

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis are said to have been promised a £50 million payday to reform.
The group, which broke up in 2009 after a backstage fight in Paris between its warring brother frontmen Noel and Liam Gallagher, is said to be set to reunite at next year’s Glastonbury before embarking on a series of money-spinning gigs.
It was reported hours after the news emerged by MailOnline.com they have been “promised a payday of £50 million to reform and embark on a global tour”.
The sum was reported as Liam, 51, sent Oasis fans into tizz by appearing to confirm he and Noel, 57, would next year tour the UK.
When asked on X about the rumoured Oasis shows, the singer said: “See you down the front.”
He also later told his 3.6 million followers on the platform: “I never did like that word FORMER.”
But the performer could not resist having a dig at his brother, and when asked what he would say to Noel when they returned to the stage he replied: “Keep up”.
Fans have also speculated Liam could confirm the Oasis reunion while on stage for his solo headline set at Reading Festival on Sunday (25.08.24) night.
Liam has been touring his ‘Definitely Maybe’ shows across Britain this summer to celebrate 30 years since the release of Oasis’ debut album of the same name.
During a show in Cardiff the singer dedicated a rendition of ‘Half the World Away’ to his “little brother” – telling a crowd of fans the songwriter was “still playing hard to get”.
It’s been reported that along with an initial reunion at Glastonbury 2025, the Gallaghers will perform at Heaton Park in Manchester, and complete a 10-day run at Wembley Stadium.
It is understood two huge promoters, SJM Concerts and Live Nation, are in line to land the tour.
The Mail on Sunday said Glastonbury bosses have informed Oasis a headline slot at next summer’s Worthy Farm festival has been “left open” for the group.
If Oasis did 10 gigs at Wembley it would break 34-year-old Taylor Swift’s eight-night run at the north London stadium in June and August, making her the world’s first solo artist to play the venue that many times.

Catherine, Princess of Wales makes triumphant return to public royal duties

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales has made a triumphant return to public royal duties amid her preventative cancer treatment.
The royal mother-of-three, 42, revealed her health battle in March after months of speculation about her whereabouts and wellbeing and has largely stayed out of the spotlight since the announcement – but on Sunday (25.08.24) was seen joining the Royal Family to celebrate King Charles’ official birthday.
She was photographed beaming as she waved to fans along with her three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis – who were all cheered by crowds in The Mall, London, after they leaft Buckingham Palace in a carriage procession for the Trooping the Colour ceremony.
It had been doubted she would show up for the ceremony as she missed the rehearsal last week for the Trooping.
Confirmation she was going to attend was only given at 6pm on Saturday (24.08.24.)
King Charles, 75, is also suffering from an undisclosed form of cancer, which was detected after he had a routine operation to rectify an enlarged prostate.
Catherine was surrounded by other members of the royal family on Sunday, including her husband Prince William, 42, as well as with Princess Anne, Colonel of the Blues and Royals and Prince Edward, Colonel of the Scots Guards.
Charles rode in a carriage with Queen Camilla, 77, and he inspected the officers and guardsmen on Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall from the coach instead of on a horse.
In another change, Catherine did not join senior family members on a dais, but watched the spectacle with her children from the Duke of Wellington’s former office.
The military event, also known as the Birthday Parade, is a gift from the Household Division, which Charles first attended in 1951 aged three.
Catherine said in an update on her cancer treatment and summer plans:
“I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.
“It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Matthew Perry’s break-up with ex-girlfriend ‘sent him spiralling into drug addiction’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend and former assistant claims his break-up with one of his partners sent him spiralling into addiction.
The actor shot to fame playing Chandler Bing on NBC sitcom ‘Friends’ from 1994 to 2004 and was killed on 28 October, 2023, aged 54 from the “acute effects” of anaesthetic ketamine after receiving three injections of the drug, with five people now under investigation in connection with his death.
His former lover and employee Kayti Edwards, 47, who dated the actor in 2006 and was his assistant in 2011, has now told the Daily Mirror she believes his break-up with Rachel Dunn – who he dated from 2003 to 2005 – was such a “big, big regret” for him it drove him into drugs.
She said about his pain over his split from Rachel, who was included as a beneficiary in his will: “He loved her so much… she was his one and only girl. I don’t know what happened and why they broke up, but I know that he was the happiest with her.
“Afterwards, he lived with a lot of regret. Their love was very simple… and she loved him before he was huge and he just spiralled afterwards.
“I think that he regrets not marrying her… I know that he wanted kids, and I think that he struggled with time flying by.
“He hadn’t tackled some milestones that he wanted to. If you go back to when they dated, you could see, just in pictures of his face of how content and happy he was.
“But it all started spiralling after his breakup with her. And they say everybody has a kind of trigger or turning point in their addiction where you just didn’t care anymore And I’m pretty sure that breakup kind of started it.”
US Attorney Martin Estrada said two doctors charged in connection to the actor’s death “cared more about profiting off of Mr Perry than caring for his well-being”.
He added: “Matthew Perry’s journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday, to street dealers who gave him ketamine in unmarked vials.”

Richard Armitage was tormented by violent bullies for being gay

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Armitage suffered years of torment at the hands of “violent” bullies who picked on him for being gay.
‘The Hobbit’ star has opened up about the agony of his early years revealing he suffered physical and verbal abuse throughout his time at school and he used to dread going in for lessons because he’d have to face his tormentors every day.
He told The Times newspaper: “It was physical, violent and verbal. I was very much aware of the hierarchy in school, the idea of the top dog and the minions below. I was considered very much at the bottom of the heap.”
Richard, 52, compared the experience to William Golding’s novel ‘Lord of the Flies’ and admitted he wanted his dad to confront the bullies but he never did.
However, it taught the actor to fight his own battles and gave him the motivation to succeed in life, but he is still haunted by memories of the bullying.
He explained: “I think the worst part of it is you learn really early in your life that you’re worth less than the s*** on somebody’s shoe because someone told you that. And you are unlearning that throughout the rest of your life – it’s still an ongoing process.
“As time passes, the trauma starts to feel like a distant echo. However, I think the challenge for me is when I see or experience bullying or gaslighting in adult life, either in the workplace or in social settings.
“That’s when that distant bell rings and I am 14 years old again and my face grows hot at the injustice. Kids can be very cruel but perhaps they don’t know any better. When we behave like this as adults, I find it very hard to reconcile.”
He went on to reveal he believes the school bullies targeted him over his sexuality, adding: “They probably knew [I am gay] before I did, which I think is also quite sad.
“I do remember having a conversation with my mum: ‘Mum, they’re saying this word about me.’ And she said, ‘Oh, that’s not you. You’re a big strong boy. That’s not who you are’.”

Danielle Fishel diagnosed with ‘a form of breast cancer’

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Fishel has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 43-year-old actress – who is best known for playing Topanga Lawrence on the teen sitcom ‘Boy Meets World’ – has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with “a form of breast cancer”.
Speaking on the ‘Pod Meets World’ podcast, Danielle explained: “I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, which is a form of breast cancer.
“It is very, very, very early. It’s technically stage zero.
“To be specific, just because I like too much information all the time, I was diagnosed with high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion.”
Despite this, Danielle is remaining optimistic, insisting that she’s “going to be fine”.
She said: “I’m going to be fine. I’m having surgery to remove it.
“I’m going to be on some follow-up treatment. I’ve had to make a lot of decisions over the last couple of days.”
Danielle is thankful that the issue has been found “so, so, so early”, and the actress has encouraged her fans to get themselves checked out, too.
She said: “The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment.
“They found it so, so, so early that I’m going to be fine. I hope it will encourage anyone to get in there.”
Danielle also acknowledged that her treatment could hinder her podcast series.
The actress shared: “I have some big decisions ahead of me about what I want to do for treatment. I don’t have all the answers yet.
“I did want to let our dear listeners know. We’re going to try and have it not affect things, but [there are] possibilities we may have to put things on hold depending on what treatments I go through.”

Adria Arjona admits to being ‘competitive’ with herself

OHMYGOSSIP — Adria Arjona is “very competitive” with herself.
The 32-year-old actress is highly ambitious and fiercely determined – but Adria doesn’t worry about competing with other actors and actresses.
The brunette beauty told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m not competitive, but I’m very competitive with myself.
“I just don’t compete with other actors. That doesn’t make any sense.
“If I get a job or don’t get a job, it’s not up to me.”
Adria previously revealed that she pretended to be her own manager during the casting for ‘True Detective’.
She shared: “All I wanted was for them to see me, and I was like, ‘I know that if they see me, then maybe they’ll want to hire me.’ So that’s the reason why I did all of that, but they wouldn’t give me an audition.
“They were going off of a list that I was obviously not on and was never in a million years going to be a part of. So I just sent in my tape and crossed my fingers until I got it.”
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Adria admitted that she tried to quit ‘Good Omens’ because of her acting nerves.
The Hollywood star played the witch Anathema in the first season of the Amazon Prime show – which adapts authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 book of the same name – but she attempted to leave the project because she found it to be “too much pressure”.
Adria told InStyle: “I think it was the first time that I felt really insecure about my take on a character because I didn’t earn it. Usually you go out, you audition, you work on it, and the director’s like, ‘Oh, I like her take on it, so I’m going to hire her.’
“And this was the first time that they hadn’t seen me. So I went in really scared and really insecure, and Neil just took me under his wing and was like, ‘You’re going to be fine.'”

The ‘High School Musical’ star – who is expecting her second child with her husband Christopher French later this year – has spent nearly a month battling health issues including adenovirus – a bug which affects the respiratory system – and a sinus infection which has left her feeling too wiped out to get organised ahead of the baby’s impending birth.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “I’m exhausted. I’m ready to have this baby but not ready.
“I still need to wallpaper the room, get everything organised, so don’t come yet!. BUT I’ve been sick for three weeks with adenovirus that turned into a sinus infection.
“My whole body hurts and I literally can’t wait to get that baby out. I think they make the last month this hard so you’re willing to throw yourself into something that would normally be so scary but you do it anyway.”
The 39-year-old actress is already mum to three-year-old daughter Jupiter with her husband Christopher and she announced her second pregnancy back in March .
However, Ashley admitted she feels nervous about becoming a mum for a second time because the first time around was mentally and physically tough.
In a video posted on TikTok, she explained: “After I had Jupiter, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this again.’ I think it was like, physically really hard on me.
“It was just like, not for me the most amazing experience …
“I was very nervous [about the second pregnancy] and had a lot of fear in the beginning, being like ‘Oh my gosh can I do this again? Can I physically do this again? Can I mentally do this again?’
“I think I obviously got over that fear. I suffered with postpartum depression the first time and so that definitely scared me, thinking about, oh having another one, like just going through that again.”

Kerry Katona blames nose surgery for ‘slurred speech’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has blamed her nasal surgery for her “slurred speech” in a recent TikTok video.
The former Atomic Kitten star came under fire from followers after she appeared to slur her words in a live clip shared on the social media platform with some accusing her of being “drunk or on drugs” but Kerry is adamant she’s just still recovering from an operation on her nose earlier this year.
In her column for OK! magazine, she explained: “Last week, people accused me of ‘slurring’ my words during a TikTok Live, and some even accused me of being drunk or on drugs.
“I’m still recovering from nose surgery – it can take up to 12 months to heal – so my speech is a little impaired.”
Kerry went on to insist there were other factors affecting her speech too, adding: “I was really tired that day too, and I can just be a lazy talker sometimes – it’s like I’ve got a lazy tongue!
“I was not drunk – it was first thing in the morning and I was on a treadmill! It’s frustrating when people always think the worst, when I barely drink and haven’t touched drugs in years.
“But at the end of the day, I can’t help the way I talk or if it sounds like I’m slurring my words – it’s not intentional.”
Kerry previously battled drug addiction and she went for surgery on her nose after years of cocaine abuse left her with crumbling cartilage.
After the operation, the former singer took to Instagram to explain she saw the operation as closing a “dark” chapter of her life.
She wrote: “Even though it’s been almost 15 years since those awful dark days and even though that chapter of my life is well and truly closed, it’s hard not to hang on to those negative unnecessary thoughts of shame guilt, embarrassment, also desperation loneliness, heartbreak but also strength, resilience, determination and forgiveness!
“Forgiving yourself is probably the most hardest of them all. I really hope my mistakes can become lessons for others in their hour of desperation to give you hope and inspiration never to give up on yourself and knowing that other peoples opinions of you.”

Jake Paul: I’m the anti-hero

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Paul sees himself as an “anti-hero”.
The 27-year-old star has turned his attention towards boxing in recent years, and ahead of his much-hyped clash with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, Jake has likened himself to the legendary Muhammad Ali.
Jake – who previously starred on the Disney Channel series ‘Bizaardvark’ – said during a pre-fight press conference: “At the end of the day, people are always going to have something to say. It’s because of who I am. I proved everyone wrong. Reminder: the most hated and most criticised boxer in the sport of boxing before they loved them was Muhammad Ali.
“So, I’m the anti-hero, and people will love me soon enough once they realise what I’ve done for this sport and who I truly am. But it doesn’t bother me at the end of the day, because when you’re at the top, people are clawing to rip you down. And that’s just the way the game goes.”
Mike, on the other hand, previously revealed that he was looking forward to facing the YouTuber-turned-boxer on November 15.
The 58-year-old star said: “I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT and T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.
“It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”

Richard Armitage: I’ve got quite limited talent

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Armitage thinks he’s got “quite limited talent”.
The 52-year-old actor has made a concerted effort to diversify his career in recent times, as he doesn’t want the film industry to “retire” him anytime soon.
Richard told The Times newspaper: “For 20 years, I’ve been bracing myself for the phone to stop ringing, which is why I think since I hit 50 I’ve been slowly working towards developing material as a producer, not necessarily for me to be in, but because I don’t want to leave the arts.
“I don’t want to leave this industry, but the industry might want to retire me. The weird thing is I don’t think I have a massive ego. I don’t need to be playing the lead all the time. I’m quite happy to take an ensemble role.”
Richard thinks he often works with more talented people than himself – but he doesn’t allow that to bother him.
He said: “I think I’ve got quite limited talent. I acknowledge it. I do.
“I mean, I’ve been around people, regularly actually, on stage, on film, where you look at them and you’re in a scene with them and you think, I can’t do that. I can’t do what you’re doing. But I’ll try and get to where you are because you’ll make me better, so I’ll take some of your magic.”
Richard – who came out as gay in 2023 – believes that his sexuality exists on a spectrum, and that his outlook has actually helped him in his career.
Richard shared: “By nature I have quite a strong masculine core, but I’ve got this other side of me which is open to a sort of feminine sensitivity and understanding.
“It has been really, really useful and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I feel like I’ve got a broader scope of sensuality because of it.”

TV pioneer Phil Donahue dies aged 88

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Donahue has died aged 88.
The iconic TV star – who created and hosted ‘The Phil Donahue Show’ for almost three decades – passed away on Sunday (18.08.24) following a long illness.
In a statement given to ‘TODAY’, it’s been revealed that Donahue was surrounded by his family, including his wife of 44 years, Marlo Thomas, their children and his grandchildren, when he passed away at his home.
The family have encouraged fans to make donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Phil Donahue/Notre Dame Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.
Donahue began his media career in the 1950s, when he worked for local radio and TV stations in Cleveland.
In the 60s, he began hosting an eponymous phone-in talk show in Dayton, Ohio.
During this period, Donahue interviewed some of the most well-known public figures of the era, including former US President John F. Kennedy, late-night host Johnny Carson, and Malcolm X, the human rights activist who was a prominent figure during the civil rights movement.
Then, in November 1967, Donahue launched ‘The Phil Donahue Show’.
The iconic TV talk-show ran for 29 years and it even proved to be an international success, as it was also broadcast in the UK and Australia.
The show often focused on issues that divided liberals and conservatives in the US, such as civil rights and abortion.
However, by the mid-90s, the show’s ratings were falling sharply as competition increased and the last episode of ‘The Phil Donahue Show’ aired on September 13, 1996.
Despite this, Donahue is still widely revered in the TV industry and various stars have previously highlighted his influence on their careers.
Oprah Winfrey, for instance, acknowledged that Donahue was a big inspiration for her.
She once said: “If there had been no ‘Phil Donahue Show’, there would be no ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’.”

Simon Cowell takes on new TV judging role – for Domino’s

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has taken on a new TV judging role – for Domino’s.
The long-time talent show judge, 64, made his name as television’s ‘Mr Nasty’ thanks to his scathing comments as the boss of ‘X Factor’, and has now poked fun at the image in a new batch of commercials for the pizza chain.
Two advertising spots he’s shot for Domino’s are packed with the kind of phrases he used throughout his stints as a judge on the show and ‘American Idol’.
One of them shows him seeking perfection as one of the pizza chain’s ‘Quality Captains’.
A voiceover at the start of the ad announces: “At Domino’s, our stores now have quality captains, those who demand perfection.”
Simon then challenges three employees to “impress” him – with their first pizza-building efforts failing to measure up.
He tells them: “Terrible, pathetic, I hate it.”
Simon then adds about one of their pizzas: “I don’t have to think on this one” – before declaring as the workers hold hands like reality TV contestants: “It’s a yes.”
A customer is also seen looking surprised by Simon taking pizza orders.
They say on the phone after he hands her a pizza: “Guess who works at Domino’s?”
In another 30-second ad spot Simon opens it by telling one employee about their pizza: “Topping distribution: horrible… that’s a million per cent No.”
But the workers end up trying again to impress him, with Simon concluding:
“It’s a definite yes.”
Domino’s senior vice president Kate Trumbull said the collaboration was obvious as Simon “demands excellence”.
He added: “Domino’s demands greatness. They know exactly what it means to deliver the perfect pizza. Domino’s is a definite yes from me.”
