Alicia Vikander ‘felt loved’ after winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Vikander “felt loved” after she won an Oscar for her role as Gerda in ‘The Danish Girl’.
The 35-year-old actress won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2016 for her role as Gerda Wegener, the partner of transgender painter Lili Elbe – played by Eddie Redmayne in Tom Hooper’s biographical drama – and she admits her life was completely transformed by the recognition.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “Because of the press commitments and being busy, it’s almost like I didn’t reflect at all when it was happening.
“It was something that was beyond anything I could ever have dreamt of. So you stand there and you’re kind of overwhelmed, constantly – and feel extremely happy and fortunate.
“The rooms you are in, the people you get to meet. And I felt loved. You have your own idea of yourself and then, suddenly, it’s like seeing yourself from an outside perspective for the first time.”
Alicia also explained that despite finding herself at the top of the acting world, she struggled to enjoy it all as it was happening.
She explained: “I think it was something I realised after it happened. It was the biggest thing I’ve ever been through. I can’t deny that. But then at a certain point afterwards, it’s almost like you’re afraid of not being as happy as you should be all the time because the most incredible thing has happened.
“My friends back home, almost all of them, are not in the industry, so they became better at seeing things as they were. They’d just say, ‘Hey, you haven’t been home for two years.'”
Alicia is married to actor Michael Fassbender, who she met on the set of ‘The Light Between Oceans’ and started a relationship with in 2014.
The ‘Tomb Raider’ star – who has two sons with the ‘Alien: Covenant’ star – has previously described her life with him as like being in a “circus family”.
Asked about balancing work and family life, Alicia told The Observer magazine: “It’s gone pretty well, actually. We’ve been together almost 10 years and we tend to not work at the same time. We’re more like a circus family, always on the move.”

Katie Price told she will ‘die peacefully’ in her sleep by psychic

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price was told by a psychic that she will die “peacefully” in her sleep.
The former glamour model has gone under the knife countless times over the years, including her most recent face lift, which is said to have cost around £10,000, despite her ongoing bankruptcy case, and Katie now fears dying when she’s put asleep for her cosmetic procedures.
She told Greatest Hits Radio: “I remember when I was in America and I went and saw a lady with a crystal ball, you know, like a medium or clairvoyant or whatever they’re called.
“And I said to her, “How do you think I’m going to die?’ I know not many people would ask that, but I did.”
She continued: “She said ‘Oh, you’re going to die in your sleep peacefully,’ And then my sister said [during their podcast] ‘And you’re going for surgery, you’ll probably die in your sleep.’
“And that sort of triggered something in my head. And I was like ‘Do you know what? Imagine if that is because the amount of times I’ve been put to sleep and that’s stuck in my mind.’
“If I have surgery again, what if I do go in my sleep because you are asleep. And I think that’s connected something in my brain, I was saying that.”
The 46-year-old star – who was arrested on her return from Turkey to London’s Heathrow Airport last month after failing to attend a hearing on July 30 – was due to face questions from barristers in a specialist bankruptcy court on Tuesday (27.08.24) but her lawyer, Bertie Boer-Roberts, requested she be able to attend a “private interview” in September instead.
The barrister cited her “mental well-being” as one of the reasons behind having the case heard behind closed doors, noting Katie had “long been subject to extreme media scrutiny” and this would be exacerbated by public examination of her financial affairs.
The lawyer said his client would be able to give “more considered answers” in a private interview and felt it would be useful to “take stock of a complex matter with a long history.”
He also stressed Katie “understands her duties” and had “been compliant” with the case so far.
However, Judge Nicholas Briggs admitted he was hesitant to agree and said: “My concern is we’ve been here before”.
He then asked lawyers for both sides to discuss details out of the courtroom and on return, both Mr. Boer-Roberts and Darragh Connell, the barrister for the trustee, agreed to Katie attending a private interview on September 24, before a potential personal examination on February 11, if deemed necessary.
The judge told the former ‘Loose Women’ star: “If you fail to comply with the undertaking you will be at risk of being arrested.”
As she left the London court building, Katie – who was previously declared bankrupt in 2019 and then again in March this year over an unpaid tax bill of over £750,000 – blasted assembled media.
She raged: “I hope you reporters write a good story today, won’t you, all the bull**** that you write, scumbags.”
Katie was previously ordered to pay 40 per cent of her monthly income from OnlyFans until February 2027 and have six of her vehicles delivered to the trustee to help pay off the money she owes.

Naomi Ackie is ‘obsessed’ with Beyonce

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Ackie is “obsessed” with Beyoncé – but would be too starstruck to meet her.
The ‘Star Wars’ actress cannot get enough of the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker, 42, and saw her when she brought her ‘Renaissance World Tour’ to the British capital last year, but she wouldn’t be able to cope if they were ever in the same room.
She told NME: “I remember leaving my boyfriend’s and just running to Tottenham. It was one of my favourite of her shows. I mean, that woman knows how to captivate an audience. Her craft… oh my god I’m obsessed. I do not want this to become just about Beyoncé but her craft and her attention – I’m in awe. She’s such an inspiration to me.”
Asked about meeting her, she said: “No, no, no. This is the point: I actually can’t ever meet her. I’d make a fool of myself. I just want to keep it as an idea. Her as an ideology is enough for me. So stay clear of me, Beyoncé!”
For her latest role, the 31-year-old star plays Frida in Zoe Kravitz’ directional debut ‘Blink Twice’, and for one of the scenes she had to film herself pretending to choke on a raspberry.
She recalled: “Zoe wanted me to have this ‘help me’ kind of look. It was so funny as well because she said: ‘You’ve got to choke on the raspberry. Make it look convincing but don’t actually die. OK, action!’”
The film stars 35-year-old Zoe’s real-life partner Channing Tatum, 44, as billionaire tech mogul Slater King, who invites waitress Frida to his private island, and she had a lot of “fun” playing the part.
She said: “One of my favourite things about Frida is that she’s quite competitive. The raspberry thing is a question of, did she choke on purpose [to draw King’s attention away from another of the girls in the group]? Is she actually as innocent as she’s seeming? Is there something else going on? And that was always fun to play with.”

The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell reveals blood cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell was diagnosed with a “very rare and aggressive form” of blood cancer a year ago.
The 68-year-old keyboardist in the ‘Friday I’m In Love’ group has shared the importance of getting checked out for any symptoms of the disease to mark Blood Cancer Awareness Month – after the “ignored” his own.
He began a lengthy post on X: “In September last year I was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma.
I had ignored the symptoms for a few months but finally went for a scan and after surgery the result of the biopsy was devastating.”
The musician says his prognosis is “amazing” after he underwent the latest “immunotherapy” treatment and got “second opinions”.
He went on: “I’ve now completed 11 months of treatment under some of the finest specialists in the world and with second opinions and advice from the teams that had developed the drugs I was being given. I had the benefit of the latest sci fi immunotherapy and some drugs that were first used 100 years ago.”
Roger implored anyone with the “faintest thought” of symptoms to get tested, as he thanked everyone who has been there for him.
Offering his advice, he concluded: “Cancer CAN be beaten but if you are diagnosed early enough you stand a way better chance, so all I have to say is go GET TESTED, if you have the faintest thought you may have symptoms go and get checked out.
“Lastly if you know someone who is ill or suffering talk to them, every single word helps, believe me I know. I would also like to thank my Drs, rockstars everyone of them, all the nurses and technicians, my friends, family and my partner Mimi, sometimes its harder to be on the other side of this…..”
Roger pulled out of the band’s Latin America tour due to “health reasons” last November.
In a social media statement, the ‘Lovecats’ group said: “We are sure you will join with us in wishing him the speediest of recoveries.”

Brooke Shields’ daughter details diabetes battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Shields’ eldest daughter, Rowan Henchy, has opened up about her lengthy diabetes battle.
The 21-year-old offspring of the 59-year-old ‘Mother of the Bride’ actress and her director husband Chris Henchy, 60, has shared the “blaring, red flags” she noticed before being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2018.
She told PEOPLE: “First of all, I lost a lot of weight, really rapidly.
“But I was eating two meals [for] each meal. I was consuming so much food and I was just losing weight even faster the more I would eat.
“Another thing is you’re constantly peeing.
“And then my eyesight started to go and then I got a really bad toe infection. So these are blaring, red flags for undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes.”
Rowan recalled having a “rough year” but was comforted by her friends and her sister, Grier, 18, who attended the same all-girls high school.
She shared: “The first couple months were rough because all my friends at my old school were hanging out with boys and I decided to go to an all-girls school and then I got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. So it was just a rough year all in all.
“That school ended up being my favourite place and I have my best friends in the world and Grier ended up going there, so it worked out.
“But freshman year — it sucked. It was more of just like, ‘This happened. How can I continue living my life and not be all sad and depressed?'”
Brooke admits she felt “helpless” and said her daughter had to “grow up quickly”.
She said: “I was feeling helpless because we didn’t know what to do and then she became completely autonomous with it. She was old enough to administer the insulin to herself. And as a 14-year-old, giving yourself shots multiple times a day is a very quick maturation process. She became very competent. She had to grow up quickly.”
Rowan has learned how to cope with managing her illness and is thankful to the new technology that helps suffers monitor their sugar levels.
She added: “There were times I wished that I was diagnosed at 5 because I knew a life without it.
“But even from the four years that I’ve had it, there’s already been so many advancements in technology.”
“I have a pump on my stomach and a Dexcom patch on my stomach.
“It’s a 24/7 job and I’m never off duty.
“But at the same time, it’s at the back of my mind. It only controls my thoughts when my blood sugar is too high or too low. Regardless of whatever headache, you find a way around it. It’s something that I have and it’s now just about managing.”
Brooke is raising awareness by starring in a film about a Type 1 sufferer called ‘Quarter’.

Adam Sandler’s reveals why ‘The Best Day’ is his favourite Taylor Swift song

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Sandler’s favourite Taylor Swift song is ‘The Best Day’ – because of his children.
The ‘Billy Madison’ actor, 57, who has daughters Sadie, 18, and Sunny, 15, with his wife of 21 years Jackie Titone, said he rates the track as his top Taylor tune as it was one of the first ones from the 34-year-old musician’s catalogue the girls wanted him to hear.
Adam told Billboard: “Everything (my two daughters) throw on I love, but one of the first ones they threw on when they were young was ‘The Best Day’.
“We connected with that when the kids were young.”
The song is from Taylor’s album ‘Fearless’, and Adam added he and his family now have a tradition of listening to all her new releases together.
He added: “Every album, we listen the first day it comes out. There’s not a song they don’t know every word to.”
Adam recently appeared on the ‘New Heights’ podcast co-hosted by Taylor’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, 34, and his 36-year-old brother Jason.
When Travis brought up how Adam had taken his daughters to the premiere of his girlfriend’s concert film ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’, the stand-up comic said: “What a girl. Dude, she means so much to our house. Since the kids were little, we were listening to Taylor Swift and listening to every song.”
Adam added on the podcast they were excited about Taylor and Travis’ relationship, which started last summer.
He said: “At first, when you guys first started dating, my God was my family like, ‘Yes! Look how good they are together. Look how he’s a gentleman and she’s having so much fun with him’.
“Like, anytime Taylor’s laughing with you, my whole f****** family is, like, high-fiving.”

Winona Ryder has ‘sacred bond’ with Jenna Ortega

OHMYGOSSIP — Winona Ryder has a “sacred bond” with Jenna Ortega.
The 52-year-old actress built a deep connection with the star, 21, while they were filming ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ together – the sequel to Tim Burton’s beloved horror comedy that helped make Winona a world famous star as a teen.
She told The Sun about seeing Jenna play a character just like hers in the original ‘Beetlejuice’: “I felt like I was seeing a younger version of myself – only she’s 100 times cooler.
“I loved what Jenna brought so much. It’s unique. She just blows me away.
“She is an incredible person. She is one of my favourite people. She is the most authentic person.
“Once the conversation started, it never stopped. I had this sacred bond with Jenna that was insanely magical. It’s like soulmates almost.”
Winona returns as Lydia Deetz in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, alongside Michael Keaton, 72, as the titular undead hellraiser.
Jenna’s role is Lydia’s rebellious daughter Astrid, who is struggling at school and has a horrible relationship with her parents, just like Lydia did in the first film.
Winona went on about watching her young co-star work: “I loved what Jenna brought to the film as it’s completely unique.
“She is one of my favourite people. This movie had to be perfect. And I realised we were waiting for her to be born and grow up.
“She’s like the perfect puzzle piece to add. She completes it. I don’t have enough adjectives – she’s such an incredible person to work with, and to know her is to absolutely love her.”
Along with Michael Keaton, 72, other actors reprising their roles from ‘Beetlejuice’ are Catherine O’Hara, 70, with Monica Bellucci, 59, and Justin Theroux, 53, adding to the line-up.
Jenna has also told of her bond with Winona, and told ‘The Interview’ podcast:
“With the success and the attention she received in the Nineties, Winona had experienced that probably to an even greater extent, so she was the first person I connected with on that topic.
“The way Winona and I got along was quite weird. It was like we were reading each other’s minds a little bit.
“She just made me feel really, really beautiful and special.”

George Clooney paid ‘millions less’ than it was reported for ‘Wolfs’

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney was paid “millions and millions and millions of dollars less” than it was reported for his role in ‘Wolfs’.
The 63-year-old actor stars alongside his long-time friend Brad Pitt, 60, in the new movie, which tells of loan fixers who get assigned to the same job – and the New York Times reported the A-listers were paid more than $35 million each for their work in the action comedy.
But while speaking alongside Brad at the Venice Film Festival ahead of the thriller’s world premiere, George has now said about the newspaper story: “(It was) an interesting article and whatever her source was for our salary, it is millions and millions and millions of dollars less than what was reported.
“And I am only saying that because I think it’s bad for our industry if that’s what people think is the standard bearer for salaries.
“I think that’s terrible – it’ll make it impossible to make films.”
George’s comments come amid Apple’s decision to not give ‘Wolfs’ a wide cinema release in the US.
Instead, the streamer has chosen to show it on a limited number of movie screens for one week before making the film available on its online service.
George said in Venice about the decision – which could have a huge impact on the movie’s profits: “Yes, we wanted it to be released (in cinemas.)
“We’ve had some bumps along the way, that happens.
“When I did ‘The Boys in the Boat’, we did it for MGM, and then it ended up being for Amazon and we didn’t get a foreign release at all, which was a surprise.
“There are elements of this that we are figuring out… we’re all in this industry and we’re trying to find our way post-Covid and everything else, and so there’s some bumps along the way.
“It is a bummer of course, but on the other hand, a lot of people are going to see the film and we are getting a release in a few hundred theatres, so we’re getting a release. But yeah, it would’ve been nice if we to have a wide release.”
‘Wolfs’ will be in cinemas from 20 September and available to stream on Apple TV+ a week later.

Winona Ryder was brought up being told fame is meaningless

OHMYGOSSIP — Winona Ryder was brought up being told fame “doesn’t matter”.
The 52-year-old ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ actress made her film debut aged 15 in 1986’s ‘Lucas’ and was raised in a commune called Rainbow in California by two parents she still worships.
She told Esquire about how the younger generation are obsessed with ‘likes’ on socials: “If you try to find out what they are into, it’s this idea of followers and how many you have. That’s all that matters, that you’re rich and famous.”
Winona added when she was a teen “any time” she was going through “a tough time” she was told “all that matters is that you’re OK”.
She also said the most memorable advice handed down to her about being famous was: “All this stuff (fame, money, popularity) doesn’t matter.”
Winona is named after the county of Winona, Minnesota – her mother’s home state, where she was born but not raised, and she grew up in North Beach, San Francisco, until her family moved to the Rainbow commune in northern California when she was seven.

“They were very educated, they could have taken jobs and settled down, but they followed their hearts. They did what they loved. Writing together. Running the museum. Activism.
“I really revere them.”
Winona’s dad was involved in the US civil rights movement while her mother volunteered as a hospice workers.
The actress said she also inherited their love of being “archivists” as she is a hoarder who collects pop-culture items such as records, movie posters and band tour T-shirts.

George Clooney hails Joe Biden’s decision to quit 2024 White House race as ‘selfless’

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney thinks Joe Biden’s decision to quit the 2024 US presidential race was one of the most “selfless” moments in American history.
The Democrat-supporting actor, 63, publicly pulled his support for Biden in an essay he wrote for The New York Times in which he said the one battle the 81-year-old politician cannot win is the “fight against time”.
He’s now said at the Venice Film Festival Biden’s decision to pull out of the White House race – which came after his article was published – was “the most selfless thing that anybody has done since George Washington”.
Ahead of the premiere of his new film ‘Wolfs’ at the event, George was asked at a press conference to talk about the impact his essay had on Biden’s move, which paved the way for US Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, to run as the Democrat candidate in the White House race.
He said: “The person who should be applauded is the President who did the most selfless thing that anybody has done since George Washington.
“All of the machinations that got us there, none of that’s going to be remembered, and it shouldn’t be.
“What should be remembered is the selfless act of someone who did the hardest thing to do.
“You know we’ve seen it all around the world, and for someone to say, ‘I think there’s a better way forward’ – he gets all the credit, and that’s really the truth.”
George’s emotive essay for The New York Times was called ‘I Love Joe Biden, But We Need a New Nominee’.
Referencing Biden’s shambolic performance in a debate against Donald Trump, 78, He said in the piece: “It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘Big F****** Deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020.
“He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”

Princess Diana left ‘in pieces’ by husband Prince Charles’ relationship with Camilla

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was left “in pieces” by her husband Prince Charles’ relationship with Camilla.
The royal, killed 27 years ago aged 36 in a Paris car crash, used to share her pain over the pair’s affair before she got divorced from the now-King with her long-time hair stylist.
Her trusted hairdresser Richard Dalton was her personal crimper for a decade at the peak of her fame, and he has now broken his silence on their relationship for the first time in a new book called ‘It’s All About The Hair: My Decade With Diana’, which has been written by Renae Plant, one of the world’s leading Diana memorabilia collectors.
Richard, 76, told the Daily Mail there were days Diana would be “in pieces” while he styled her.
He said she confided in him: “My bloody husband has disappeared again” as Charles indulged in his affair with Camilla as their marriage collapsed.
Richard added about his decision to finally speak out about Diana: “I have never spoken publicly but Diana has been gone for 27 years and I was part of history.”
He said about how she had “many sides”: “She was hilariously funny, impossibly glamorous and even more beautiful in real life than her pictures show.
“I want to share my stories to preserve her legacy.”
His comments come after Diana’s former royal bodyguard said she would have eventually “accepted” Charles’ relationship with Camilla if she was still alive.
The mother-of-two was guarded for years by former Scotland Yard officer Ken Wharfe, and he spoke out about how he thinks she would have come to terms with her ex-husband marrying now-Queen Camilla as thousands of royal fans flocked to her former residence of Kensington Palace in London on Saturday (31.08.24) to lay flowers outside on the 27th anniversary of her death.
Ken told The Sun: “From my own experience in life, you move on and you change, you mellow slightly, and you deal with situations in a much calmer way.
“And I’m sure Diana would have done that. She was very good at that.”
Diana was killed aged 36 in a Paris car crash on 31 August, 1997 – five years after she and then-Prince Charles split, before they finalised their divorce in 1996.
Two years after Diana was killed in a horror car crash Camilla and Charles publicly revealed their relationship.
Diana famously told of their affair in her TV interview with journalist Martin Bashir, saying: “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

Winona Ryder says Robert Downey Jr and Kiefer Sutherland were ‘wasted’ on their set

OHMYGOSSIP — Winona Ryder says Robert Downey Kr and Kiefer Sutherland were “wasted” when she made a film with them in her teens.
The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ actress, 52, starred with the two now-reformed Hollywood hellraisers waged 16 in a movie called ‘1969’.
She told Esquire about their wild antics on set: “I don’t think I’m spilling any secrets: they were obviously wasted.
“To me, they were hilarious. It wasn’t, like, dark. Or maybe it was to them, but to me it was fun.”
Robert, 59, and Kiefer, 57, whose drink and drug abuse are well-documented, were five years older than Winona at the time, but she insisted their “scoundrel behaviour” did not involve including her as she was treated like “the little sister”.
She also said about how she stayed away from wild living until her late-20s: “Back then it was like acid and weed. I mean, you heard about cocaine, but I was never offered it until way later.
“I sort of weirdly rebelled against all that. Honestly, I didn’t do anything until I was like 28.
“I was just not into partying at all. Also, in my mind, I couldn’t have worked high, or drunk.
“(The thought of it) made me very nervous.”
Winona added she found her high from mixing with older filmmakers and actors she worshipped.
She said one of her “mentors” in the early days of her career was Jason Robards, 78, and said she also hung about with his fellow veteran actor Roddy McDowall, then in his sixties.
Winona added: “He would have these dinner parties and invite me. It was, like, Elizabeth Taylor, Karl Malden, Jessica Tandy, Sidney Poitier. It was insane… that was my drugs. Getting to talk to them.”
