King Charles meets Hollywood stars at Gladiator II premiere

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles met the star-studded cast of ‘Gladiator II’ at the movie’s world premiere in London.
The 75-year-old monarch met the likes of Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and director Sir Ridley Scott at the premiere, which was held in Leicester Square on Wednesday (13.11.24).
Charles arrived at the event in his state Bentley limousine, and he posed for photographers on the red carpet, while wearing a black tuxedo, which he teamed with a bowtie.
Queen Camilla missed the premiere after she was recently diagnosed with a “seasonal chest infection”. The Queen also missed Remembrance events in London over the weekend.
Despite this, Camilla was able to chat to a slew of Hollywood A-listers at Buckingham Palace prior to the premiere.
She told Ridley at the event: “I am so sorry I’m not coming tonight. I’d be coughing throughout it.”
Meanwhile, the King was diagnosed with “a form of cancer” earlier this year, and he continues to receive treatment for the disease.
Despite this, Buckingham Palace previously insisted that he wanted to return to public duties “as soon as possible”.
The Palace said in a statement in February: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure.
“He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”

Paul Mescal: I felt under pressure shooting Gladiator II

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Mescal felt under pressure while filming ‘Gladiator II’.
The 28-year-old actor stars alongside the likes of Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington in the new historical action film, and Paul has admitted to feeling a weight of “responsibility” during the shoot.
He told Variety: “I do feel the pressure, and I do feel the desire for this to make money.
“The box office needs a shot in the arm, and if films like ‘Gladiator II’ aren’t doing it, it would be concerning. So I do feel a responsibility.”
The original ‘Gladiator’ movie was a huge hit with fans and critics, earning more than $400 million at the box office back in 2000.
Paul has previously rejected the chance to star in various “big studio, franchise-y” movies. But the actor relished the opportunity to be part of the ‘Gladiator’ legacy and to work with Sir Ridley Scott, the award-winning director who helmed the original movie.
Paul said: “I wasn’t like, ‘I need to do this.’ It was really just Ridley and ‘Gladiator’, and I felt like I was ripe for this kind of big film.
“I played sports growing up; I know what it is to throw myself around. I look Roman. All of those things. And it’s Ridley Scott!”
Paul has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, after starring in the hit TV mini-series ‘Normal People’ in 2020. But the actor revealed that he intends to return to making independent films in the future.
Reflecting on his long-term ambitions, Paul said: “The centre of my career is independent films, and everything else comes as a result. But that’s where I will return.”

Hollywood’s talk of female empowerment is fake, says Sydney Sweeney

OHMYGOSSIP — Sydney Sweeney thinks talk of female empowerment in Hollywood is “fake”.
The 27-year-old actress has enjoyed huge success in recent years, but Sydney finds it “disheartening” to see women tear other women down within the entertainment industry.
Sydney told Vanity Fair’s 2025 Hollywood Issue: “It’s very disheartening to see women tear other women down, especially when women who are successful in other avenues of their industry see younger talent working really hard – hoping to achieve whatever dreams that they may have – and then trying to bash and discredit any work that they’ve done.
“This entire industry, all people say is ‘Women empowering other women.’ None of it’s happening. All of it is fake and a front for all the other s*** that they say behind everyone’s back.”
Sydney struggles to understand why she’s recently become a target for criticism.
The ‘Euphoria’ star explained: “I mean, there’s so many studies and different opinions on the reasoning behind it.
“I’ve read that our entire lives, we were raised – and it’s a generational problem – to believe only one woman can be at the top. There’s one woman who can get the man. There’s one woman who can be, I don’t know, anything. So then all the others feel like they have to fight each other or take that one woman down instead of being like, ‘Let’s all lift each other up.’
“I’m still trying to figure it out. I’m just trying my best over here. Why am I getting attacked?”
Earlier this year, Hollywood producer Carol Baum slammed Sydney, arguing that she’s “not pretty” and “can’t act”.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, Carol said: “There’s an actress who everybody loves now: Sydney Sweeney. I don’t get Sydney Sweeney.”

Zendaya feels ‘a little bit terrified’ ahead of Euphoria’s return

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya feels “a little bit terrified” about returning to ‘Euphoria’.
The 28-year-old actress plays Ruby ‘Rue’ Bennett in the HBO teen drama, and Zendaya has revealed she’s “just waiting” to shoot the new season of the hit TV show.
The actress – who stars alongside the likes of Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney on the show – told Vanity Fair: “I’ve been waiting. I’m actually going to start filming a project soon before ‘Euphoria’, and I’m like, ‘Man, I’m rusty.’ I haven’t been on a set in, like, two years almost. I’m a little bit terrified. I’m like, ‘Can I even do this anymore?’ I don’t know.
“To be fair, I get that feeling every time I go onto a new project. You’re always like, ‘What am I even doing?’ On that first day on set, you’re like, ‘I was terrible. I was s***. Everyone hates me. I’m going to get fired tomorrow.’ And when the director’s like, ‘You did a great job’, you’re like, ‘You’re lying. You’re actually lying to me.’ But that’s just part of, again, the Virgo self-criticism.”
The future of the show has become a subject of speculation in recent weeks, but Zendaya remains committed to her ‘Euphoria’ character.
Asked where she stands with ‘Euphoria’ and the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, Zendaya replied: “[‘Euphoria’] is slated for January, I believe. I haven’t read anything yet, but I’m excited to see what everyone has been working on, and what the future looks like for ‘Euphoria’. I don’t really have much of an answer except for right now it’s set to start shooting in January.
“My most important thing is to do justice by the people who love and care about Rue, and make sure that she’s looked after as a character. I think that’s my number one duty.”

Nicole Kidman: Fear can be destructive to expression

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman is happy to take “bold risks” in her career.
The Oscar-winning star has enjoyed huge successes in her acting career, but Nicole accepts that nothing is guaranteed in the movie business.
Asked if Hollywood has become more open to risks, Nicole told Vanity Fair’s 2025 Hollywood Issue: “I suppose I don’t think of that. I just go, ‘This is the road I’m on, and whatever happens happens’.
“If it’s seen as a risk, I’ll take these risks. And if they’re bold risks, then I’ll take those risks, but I’m not going to hang too much on that because fear can set in. That’s very, very destructive to the expression and the desire.”
Nicole subsequently conceded that working in Hollywood can be a “rollercoaster” experience.
The 57-year-old actress – who is married to music star Keith Urban – explained: “Everything’s hard now. Actually everything.
“I mean, maybe not ‘Deadpool’, but there’s nothing that’s, ‘Oh my gosh. Yep. This is it. Greenlight, let’s go.’ Or maybe it’s just the things that I do.
“I just think that’s the nature of what we’re dealing with now. Things are shrinking in terms of shows being done and films being made. I definitely feel it. I’m sure most people in the industry feel it. I know the crews feel it. I know writers feel it.
“You’re just along for the ride, and it is very much ups and downs and rollercoasters, and you just go, ‘Hold on tight.’ It’s what I try to teach my kids because I don’t know what their futures are: Hold on and go for it and take the opportunities when they arise and jump in and try something. The worst you can do is fail.”

Chris Evans plans to ‘pinball’ over the Christmas holidays

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans plans to divide his time between the US and Portugal over the Christmas holidays.
The 43-year-old actor married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista in 2023, and Chris has revealed how they plan to celebrate Christmas this year.
The movie star – who was born in Boston, Massachusetts – told PEOPLE: “So far we’ve only had one Christmas. This will be our second Christmas together as a married couple, so we’re going to have to do the pinball.
“As much as I love Christmas in Massachusetts with snow, she has her own traditions in Portugal. We’re going to start doing the pinballing back and forth.”
Chris and Alba, 27, are both busy with their own work commitments over the coming weeks. But the loved-up couple intend to spend Christmas Day in Chris’ home state of Massachusetts.
He shared: “We have a very busy schedule going on. She’s about to start something in January. I’m doing something right now in Greece. So just the amount of travel that we have, we’re doing one more here in Massachusetts and then we’ll start over there [in Portugal].”
Chris has previously spoken about his ambition to become a dad one day, and he hopes that his future children will follow some of his Christmas traditions.
He said: “I hope that my kids will enjoy each other’s company as much as me and my siblings did. We wanted to spend every second of Christmas Eve together right up until you fall asleep.”
Earlier this week, Chris reiterated that he wants to become a dad.
The Hollywood star told PEOPLE: “That’s absolutely something I want.
“Wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”

Sydney Sweeney recalls trying to ‘hide’ her real personality

OHMYGOSSIP — Sydney Sweeney “tried to hide” her personality at the start of her career.
The 27-year-old actress has enjoyed a meteoric rise over recent years, but Sydney has never felt sure about what she should and shouldn’t share with the public.
Asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Sydney – who is engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino – told Vanity Fair’s 2025 Hollywood Issue: “I actually think about this often. I go back and forth.
“One way is, ‘Sydney, don’t give them any part of you, only talk work.’ Then there’s another part of me where I wish that I could have started off and been so openly me that there’s no questioning things that I say.
“I just tried to hide who I was for so long because I wanted a little bit of myself for myself. I didn’t want to give it all away.”
Sydney observed that people are inclined to “create their own idea of who you are”.
She continued: “Then when you just talk about work, people are annoyed or bored or – what I’ve noticed the most – they just create their own idea of who you are. I see that all the time with me.”
Sydney previously admitted that she’s still adjusting to the pressures of fame and success.
The Hollywood star told ES Magazine: “I think I’m still navigating it on a daily basis because I want to be as authentic and genuinely open to the public and my fans as possible. And I think I am.
“I talk a lot, I’m very open and it’ll probably be to my detriment, but I don’t know how people can hide behind an image.
“At the same time, I don’t owe people answers.”

Zendaya: I’m the mom of the Challengers group chat

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya is “the mom” of the ‘Challengers’ group chat.
The 27-year-old actress starred alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist in the romantic sports film earlier this year, and Zendaya has revealed that she remains close to her co-stars.
She told Vanity Fair’s 2025 Hollywood Issue: “There’s a group chat. I say I’m the mom of the group because I’m always like, ‘Hey guys, checking in. Hope you’re okay.’ And to give them credit they do respond. Mike’s the worst at responding, but we let that go.”
In the movie, Zendaya’s character was at the centre of a love triangle involving Josh and Mike’s characters.
The actress has admitted that she was “really lucky” to work with them, describing Josh and Mike as “lovely guys”.
Zendaya reflected: “I’m really lucky because they are just the most lovely guys.
“When you’re in a film like that, where it’s really just the three of us and the characters are also intimately involved and emotionally intertwined with each other, it’s really important that whoever you’re acting beside not only is talented, which they clearly obviously are, but is also lovely and makes you feel safe and supported as a scene partner. They both definitely offered that space.
“We also had a lot of fun. We all appreciate and take our jobs seriously, [but] not too seriously, you know what I mean? We still enjoy the process. We can laugh and have fun, and joke around and also still be present when we need to. It was nice to have that levity.
“Man, I felt so bad with Josh. I was like, ‘I’m constantly just slapping you, and spitting on you. This is just so awful, I’m so sorry.’ He was just so cool about it. I’m like, ‘Goodness, girl, you gotta keep your hands off people.'”

‘He is really hot’ Kate Flannery defends John Krasinski after mixed Sexiest Man Alive reaction

OHMYGOSSIP — John Stamos has vowed to be by his ‘Full House’ co-star Dave Coulier’s side “through it all”, following the actor’s cancer diagnosis.
The 61-year-old actor and musician took to social media to show his support to his co-star, after Dave recently revealed he is suffering from stage three Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
John – who plays Jesse Katsopolis in the classic ABC sitcom – wrote on Instagram: “My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all (sic)”.
Dave – who is best known for starring as Joey Gladstone in the show – told this week how he was diagnosed with cancer, after initially visiting the doctors for what he assumed was a common cold.
Speaking to People magazine, the 65-year-old star said: “Three days later, my doctors called me back and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s called B cell and it’s very aggressive.
“I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming.
“This has been a really fast roller coaster ride of a journey.”
Dave was diagnosed with the form of blood cancer in October after an upper respiratory infection led to swelling in his lymph nodes, and medics immediately conducted PET and CT scans and a biopsy.
He underwent a test to check for cancer cells within his bone marrow and when that came back negative, he admitted it was a “great day” as his chances of survival increased.
He said: “We all kind of put our heads together and said, ‘Okay, where are we going?’ And they had a very specific plan for how they were going to treat this?
“At that point, [when the test came back negative] my chances of curable went from something low to 90 per cent range. And so that was a great day.”

Put your paws up…Lady Gaga lands cameo in Wednesday season two

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga is reportedly set to appear in the second series of ‘Wednesday’.
The 38-year-old singer-and-actress has landed a mystery cameo in the star-studded cast, led by Jenna Ortega’s titular character in Netflix’s ‘Addams Family’ spin-off, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It’s no surprise that Gaga will make an appearance on ‘Wednesday’.
In 2022, after seeing Jenna’s character do a dance to ‘Goo Goo Muck’ by The Cramps in season one, fans of the show started a viral TikTok trend where they’d perform the moves to a sped-up version of Gaga’s song ‘Bloody Mary’, from her 2011 album ‘Born This Way’.
It proved so popular that the song got a streaming boost and started heading back up the charts.
Gaga – who is referred to as Mother Monster, as her fans are called Little Monsters – even did her own video performing the spooky routine.
At the time, she wrote: “Slay Wednesday!
“You’re welcome at Haus of Gaga anytime (and bring Thing with you, we love paws around here).”
At the Golden Globes last year, Jenna, 22, told reporters of the possibility of Gaga joining the show: “I’m sure Netflix would love that.
“If Lady Gaga were to be a part, [she and Wednesday] would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”
The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ star recently revealed they are several episodes into filming the second instalment, but Jenna isn’t sure whether it will feature another dance.
Asked if there will be a follow-up to her viral performance, the actress replied: “Not that I’m aware of … I’m not looking ahead at the schedule, but I fear maybe I’ll see something.”
Meanwhile, Christina Ricci previously heaped praise on Jenna, describing her ‘Wednesday’ co-star as “amazing”.
The 44-year-old actress starred as Wednesday in the ‘Addams Family’ movies in the early 90s, and she’s been impressed by Jenna ever since they started working together on the spin-off.
Christina – who plays Nevermore Academy teacher Mrs. Marilyn Thornhill – told ELLE: “I loved being Wednesday.
“I’m very proud of that role. I also think Jenna Ortega is amazing. She is so brave, so cool, and really doing the part justice. Wednesday is her part now … [and] those two things can be true at the same time!”

Kim Kardashian admits she’s ‘basically raising four kids by myself’ without ex Kanye West’s help

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian says she is “basically raising four kids by myself”.
The 44-year-old Skims founder – who has North, 11, Saint, eight, Chicago, six, and Psalm, five, with her ex-husband Kanye West – fears being judged for admitting to struggling as a single parent because she has the resources to get help with nannies.
Appearing on Zoe Winkler’s ‘What the Winkler?’ podcast, Kim began: “I think you and I’ve mostly connected on parenting.
“And judgment, and feeling like sometimes you’re in this alone, even though we have great support systems and we have people around us.”
The reality star then admitted: “But sometimes in the middle of the night, when they’re all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up — it’s not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment or people always will jump to the, ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help.’ And I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, I’m basically raising four kids by myself.”
Kim, like most mothers, is in charge of the school run, which can be hectic.
She said: “I mean even carpool this morning, I had five kids that I had to take.
“And everyone wants to leave at, like, different times or wants different stuff. And I feel like I’m at, like, a pit stop of a race car driver.”
The ‘Kardashians’ star filed for divorce from controversial rapper Kanye, 47, in 2021 after six years of marriage.
Kim and Kanye have had differing opinions when it comes to raising their brood, including over social media use and schools.
Earlier this year, the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker publicly called for his ex-wife to remove their children from their “fake school for celebrities”.
Kanye is now married to 29-year-old Yeezy architectural designer Bianca Censori, whom he wed in 2022 under a confidential marriage license.

Rag’n’Bone Man’s wedding guests suffered from ‘fierce hangovers’: ‘Most people are still recovering’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rag’n’Bone Man’s wedding guests suffered from “fierce hangovers”.
The 39-year-old singer – whose real name is Rory Charles Graham – tied the knot with his partner Zoe Beardsall earlier this month and now an insider has claimed that the celebrations were so lavish and so much alcohol went around that many are “still recovering” from it all now.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Rory and Zoe wanted to put on a wedding to remember for their guests.
“The dress code was black tie, and all the blokes were in tuxedos.
“Zoe had the Barns decorated with a Halloween theme, with pumpkins and candles dotted about everywhere.
“After they said their vows Rory and Zoe put on a massive fireworks display and the reception went on until the early hours. The following day they invited their guests to join them at Soho Farmhouse for another massive party.
“The following day Rory and Zoe headed to Soho Farmhouse to recuperate. Some of the hangovers were fierce, and most people are still struggling now.”
The ‘Human’ hitmaker – who was initially married to Beth Rouy for a period of six months in 2019 – started dating Zoe towards the end of 2020, and eventually proposed while they were on a plane but she recalled that he was full of “anxiety” as he was getting to the big moment.
She said: “He was going to do it when we got there but his anxiety was getting the better of him and he didn’t want to ruin the holiday.
“He was p****** about with the divider between our seats and he put it down and was just sitting there with a box.”
Prior to the start of the ceremony, Zoe -who has three children from previous relationships – read out a note in which she described the musician as her “soulmate” in life.
It read: “Zo, A soulmate is not someone who complete you. A soulmate is someone who encourages you to complete yourself.”

Priscilla Presley didn’t see Elvis live until after they were married: ‘The fans were going nuts…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Priscilla Presley didn’t see Elvis live until after they were married.
The 79-year-old actress tied the knot with the late King of Rock n Roll – who died in 1977 at the age of 42 – in 1967 but by this point, he had already been on the music scene for a number of years and she was taken aback by just how “crazy” things were by the time she got to see him.
She told People: “You see all the girls lined up, all the fans going nuts, and I’m looking at this going, ‘Wow’. And he’d take his scarf off his neck and he’d give it to someone right there by the stage, and they would go crazy. It was really a treat. It was a trip, a great trip.”
Priscilla went on to have the late Lisa Marie – who died in 2023 at the age of 64 following a sudden cardiac arrest – with Elvis, but they split in 1973, had she later had Navrone, 37, with computer programmer Marco Garibaldi Garcia.
But the concert Priscilla had first attended came as a major comeback after several years out of the spotlight for the ‘Hound Dog’ rocker, and she recalled that her then-husband was “very nervous” despite his superstar status.
She said: “He was nervous because he hadn’t appeared [on stage] in so long. People would think, ‘How could he be nervous? He’s Elvis Presley.’ He was very nervous, but he did his homework. He would go and rehearse and rehearse and rehearse.”
The comeback special for NBC became the highest-rated broadcast of the year for the station, and Elvis’ friend Jerry Schilling explained that was a completely unexpected feat.
Speaking in the new Netflix documentary ‘Return of the King: The Fall and Rise of Elvis Presley ‘, he said: “He did not know what the public was going to think of that. It wasn’t until we saw it live on television with the rest of America that he realised it was good. Phone calls started coming in from special people he knew, and that was the first time he really relaxed and knew it was good. He was beaming at that point. That led to everything after.”

Ryan Reynolds proud of Taylor Swift family connection

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds joked he’ll put Taylor Swift’s connection to his family “on [his] gravestone”.
The 48-year-old actor – who has daughters James, nine, Inez, seven, and Betty, four, and 21-month-old son Olin with wife Blake Lively – is thankful for his friendship with the ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker and quipped it is more significant than anything else in his life.
He told Deadline: “She is the godparent to my daughters. I need that one on my gravestone actually.”
Over the summer, Taylor shared an Instagram Story urging her 273 million followers to go and see Ryan and Hugh Jackman’s movie ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, and the Canadian actor admitted her endorsement likely caused a huge surge in its box office figures.
He said: “That was very sweet. Not just sweet—you can probably quantify a box office based on Taylor just doing something like that.”
The 34-year-old singer’s post featured a photo of her with Ryan, Blake, Hugh and director Shawn Levy, and hailed the movie “an actual joy portal”.
She wrote: “He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich.
“I don’t know how he did it. Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!”
Meanwhile, last month after Ryan and Blake attended Taylor’s ‘Eras’ show in New Orleans, the ‘Proposal’ actor admitted he’d “never forget” the concert because it was such a special and unique experience.
He gushed on his own Instagram page: “When I’m 95 yrs old and my wife and kids wheel me outside and into the sun so I can drink a sandwich, I’ll still be talking about seeing this show in New Orleans.
“Not just because it’s one of the best things I’ve seen/heard/felt. And not only because you see the staggering and positive economic impact this tour has on small businesses all over NOLA – a town that’s been thru so much for so long.
“The main reason I’ll never forget this show is because it brings people together in so many ways. And in 2024, (where that feeling is scarce as hell) it’s a special and incredibly rare thing.
“I’ve shot movies in New Orleans most of my career. It’s a special place on a normal day – but this weekend, felt like Super Bowl or Mardi Gras had a baby with music.
“I don’t understand the unimaginable work, care, talent and discipline @taylorswift generates to create an experience like this because I’m not a scientist. It’s an athletic event and a collective cultural phenomenon. It’s gigantic but intimate.
“The only bummer is she can’t be in the audience to experience what everyone else sees and feels. To watch herself up there is something I wish she could know. But that isn’t physically possible and even if it were, you can’t just get tickets last minute.”

Mariska Hargitay grateful therapy helped get her ‘life back’

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariska Hargitay credits therapy for having given her her “life back”.
The ‘Law and Order: SVU’ star was three years old when she and her two brothers were in a car accident that resulted in the death of their mother, actress Jayne Mansfield, and she admitted it took until adulthood before she was able to take the steps to process and deal with her grief properly.
Speaking at the Hope For Depression Research Foundation seminar at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, where she was honoured with the Hope Award for Depression Advocacy, People magazine reports she said: “On a personal note, I’ve gone through my own journey of learning how to respond to the various traumas that I’ve experienced in my life. I lost my mother when I was three years old and I grew up in a house of people dealing with the tragedy in their own way. And because there was so much grief, there wasn’t room to prioritise anyone.
“We didn’t have the tools that we have now to metabolize and understand trauma, understand all the levels, understand that it goes in on the cellular level.
“So it wasn’t until much later in my life when I was able to do that for myself.
“It wasn’t until much later that I found the language to acknowledge it for what it was.”
Mariska – who revealed in January she had experienced sexual trauma in her 30s – feels lucky to have worked with “extraordinary therapists” to help process her “complex trauma”.
She continued: “I had the good fortune to find extraordinary therapists who introduced me to many different healing modalities, to somatic reprocessing, somatic experiencing, which is a way of treating the way trauma lives in the body.
“EMDR, structured therapy for reprocessing trauma. And internal family systems, people call it IFS or parts work. These modalities gave me my life back, and they re-organised my nervous system and they gave me back a whole lot of space, which I learned is sort of synonymous for healing. It’s getting space back.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever find the words to express my gratitude for those who have accompanied me in my journey, for those who mirrored my trauma back to me, who helped me integrate different parts of myself and metabolise my own trauma, complex trauma that so many of us carry. We all have a story.”
The 60-year-old star also spoke about her own Joyful Heart Foundation, which supports survivors of sexual violence.
She said: “Joyful Heart was my response to reading the letters that I received from survivors when I started on ‘SVU’ 852 years ago.
“Joyful Heart is my response to learning the statistics of sexual violence and having them rock me back on my heels and just being slack-jawed that everybody wasn’t talking about these statistics and talking about these issues because they’re so pervasive and it is an epidemic in our country in our world.
“And I now know that Joyful Heart was also a response to my own internal need for healing.”
