Princess Diana admitted she was ‘ashamed’ of her bulimia

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was “ashamed” of her bulimia.
The tragic royal, who was killed aged 36 in a 1997 Paris car smash, was stricken with the eating disorder just before she got married to Prince Charles, and continued to suffer with it as their marriage collapsed.
Her long-time dance teacher Anne Allan said Diana asked to cancel her dance lessons before revealing she had bulimia in her recently released autobiography ‘Dancing with Diana’.
She said Diana’s lady-in-waiting Anne Beckwith-Smith called to say the princess may want to stop her lessons, but when she asked Diana the royal said she was “annoyed” at the move and made it clear the Palace wanted her to end the lessons and not her.
Soon afterwards, the teacher said Diana declared she was “ashamed” to admit she was suffering from bulimia.
But Anne said about how she feared the royal was suffering from the disorder after Diana fainted during a trip to Vancouver in 1987: “I gathered that the Palace had concerns and were aware, or at least suspected the problem.
“I realised that they may have been worried that it could be dangerous if anyone from the outside world found out… the more I thought, the angrier I felt.
“If the ‘establishment’ knew definitively, had anyone reached out to offer help and guidance? It didn’t seem that they had.
“Had they dismissed this disease as a sign of weakness, not understanding the mental anguish Diana was in?”
Anna added she was left “angry” at future king Charles’ affair with his now-wife Camilla at the time of Diana’s bulimia battle.
She said: “Did Charles think that this was acceptable behaviour, and that Diana should just turn her back and ignore what was going on? Was he relieved that his wife was in her own extramarital affair?
“Did it affect him at all? It didn’t seem so.”
According to Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton’s 1992 biography on the royal, her bulimia began before her wedding to Charles.
She said on tapes he used for his book on the royal: “The bulimia started the week after we got engaged and would take nearly a decade to overcome.”

Alan Cumming breaks RuPaul’s long-running Emmy streak

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Cumming has broken RuPaul’s lengthy winning streak at the Emmy awards.
The 59-year-old actor was named Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality Competition Program at the first night of the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday (07.09.24) for his work on ‘The Traitors’ , beating the ‘Drag Race’ host, who has scooped the accolade over the last eight years.
Alan wasn’t at the event at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles to take home his statuette, having also seen off Jeff Probst from ‘Survivor’, ‘Top Chef’s new presenter Kristen Kish and ‘Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban, Robert Herjavec, Lori Greiner, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary to win the award.
Meanwhile, Dick Van Dyke became a joint record holder as the oldest winner of a Creative Arts Emmy at the age of 98 when he took home the prize for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for ‘Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic).
The ‘Mary Poppins’ actor – who ties with Norman Lear, who won an award for his own special in 2020 – showed off his dance movies as he got up on stage to accept the award.
He told the audience: “Thank you, that reception, I cannot tell you what it means. I’m 99 next month.”
He then gestured to his wife Arlene Silver, who had joined him on stage as she produced the special, and said: “The young lady who got this award, you may think of the word nepotism and I would understand it, but this lady got the job all by herself as producer of the Dick Van Dyke special because she knows me inside and out, and knows how I work, and don’t take no sass from anybody. Arlene Van Dyke!”
Arlene said: “Thank you so much. It is a honour to spend my life with you… We got four nominations that put love, heart and soul into the show. To honor you, you’ve created endless joy and playfulness for generations to come.”
Pat Sajak, who retired in June 2024, was given the award for Outstanding Host of a Game Show for his final season of ‘Wheel of Fortune’.
However, the presenter – who began working on the show in 1981 – wasn’t in attendance to accept his first Emmy in 26 years. He previously won the award in 1993, 1997, and 1998, and was given a Lifetime Achievement Honour in 2011.
Other notable winners at the event included ‘Jeopardy!’, which won the Outstanding Game Show prize, ‘Only Murders in the Building’, which took Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series, ‘Shark Tank’ and ‘Welcome To Wrexham’, which won the prizes for Structured and Unstructured Reality Program respectively.

The ‘High School Musical’ actress and her husband Christopher French welcomed daughter Emerson Clover, a sister for three-year-old Jupiter, into the world on Friday (06.09.24), she has announced on Instagram.
Ashley shared a photo of herself, Christopher, and their older child holding the newborn’s hand and wrote: “Emerson Clover French, all three of us are obsessed with you. She landed 9.6.24 [clover leaf emoji] (sic)”.
Last month, the 39-year-old star admitted she was “ready” to give birth because she’d been unwell and in pain.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “I’m exhausted. I’m ready to have this baby but not ready.
“I still need to wallpaper the room, get everything organised, so don’t come yet!. BUT I’ve been sick for three weeks with adenovirus that turned into a sinus infection.
“My whole body hurts and I literally can’t wait to get that baby out. I think they make the last month this hard so you’re willing to throw yourself into something that would normally be so scary but you do it anyway.”
But Ashley had also admitted she feels nervous about becoming a parent for a second time because the first time around was mentally and physically tough.
In a video posted on TikTok, she explained: “After I had Jupiter, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this again.’ I think it was like, physically really hard on me.
“It was just like, not for me the most amazing experience …
“I was very nervous [about the second pregnancy] and had a lot of fear in the beginning, being like ‘Oh my gosh can I do this again? Can I physically do this again? Can I mentally do this again?’
“I think I obviously got over that fear. I suffered with postpartum depression the first time and so that definitely scared me, thinking about, oh having another one, like just going through that again.”
However, she was pleased that Jupiter is happy about the baby.
She added: “I’m excited and Jupiter’s excited. She keeps telling everybody the big news – that she’s going to be a big sister.”

The 73-year-old actor loved every minute of getting to reprise the titular role as the goofy ghoul in the sequel to the iconic 1988 dark fantasy horror, and was “nervous” about making sure he could pull it off again.
However, he is made up with how it turned out, praising his co-stars Justin Theroux [Rory] and Catherine O’Hara [Delia Deetz] and won’t let any negative opinions of it affect him.
Speaking on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast, he said: “I’ll tell you when I say I don’t care what anybody else thinks of it I’m willing to say what I think about it because this is just how I feel about it there’s movies I’ve seen and you guys have seen that people have hated and I went ‘not me, I love this movie’ or other movies where you go ‘I don’t get what people are raving about’.
“Me, I don’t care if every person I ever run into for the rest of my life could say ‘boy that second ‘Beetlejuice’ really sucked’, I’d go ‘not to me… ‘
“It’s got so many elements it’s so beautiful first of all physically and it’s you kind of care and I’m telling you every person is funny in this and Justin [Theroux] is funny Catherine [O’Hara] is funnier than she was in the first one.”

The 36-year-old singer already has three pet dogs, including her beloved dachshund Louie, and she wants to make a menagerie of cute creatures at her Beverly Hills mansion because she has decided that “people f****** suck” and she prefers animals.

I currently have three dogs and a cat, my son wants to get a lizard, but I know that I’m going to have to end up looking after it, so I’m going to foster a lizard for a while just so I can get used to it, and then I’m sure we’ll be best friends. I want to get some chickens, basically I want to have a little farm, that’s what I want to do, basically spend all my time with people like you, an audience, and animals, basically because I think people f****** suck, people are really getting on my f****** nerves, people are really getting on my nerves, aren’t we just so annoying? We’re so annoying. I wish I was a panda, I get so annoyed sometimes that I’m not a panda.”
Adele also revealed that her beloved Louie is now 17 years old and is going senile, but she still adores him in old age.
Talking with a fan who was holding a sign to say his own pet Shih Tzu had passed away, she said: “My little Louie is still alive, I think he might be the oldest wiener dog that’s ever lived, I honestly do. He’s 17, he’s senile, he’s crazy. I got him when I was 21 and he was with me in every single studio session when I wrote all of ’21’, he was with me the whole time. He’s actually on Rolling in the Deep, you can actually hear him howl because when I’m hitting a high note he went ‘ahooooo’. He used to sit on my lap when I was recording everything.”

Jude Law had ‘late night’ feasts to gain weight to play Henry VIII

OHMYGOSSIP — Jude Law gorged on “late-night pasta and ice cream” to play Henry VIII.
The 51-year-old actor didn’t have much time to prepare for his portrayal of the Tudor king in ‘Firebrand’ – which focuses on the monarch’s final years with sixth wife Catherine Parr (Alicia Vikander) – but managed to “eat loads” in order to transform the shape of his face.
He told the Sunday Times Culture magazine: “It was a process. Like Charlie Chaplin or Father Christmas, Henry has a familiar silhouette, so if you get that shape, the brain fills in a lot of the gaps.
“So I grew a beard. I had bodysuits, clothes, weights on my legs and bits in my shoes to perfect his gait.
“I only had about four months to prep, so couldn’t balloon up to full weight, but I did eat loads — late-night pasta and ice cream — so I had a bigger face.
“I thought of him as a paraplegic gorilla. He had all this power but couldn’t move. He was weirdly helpless.”
Jude described the Henry in the movie as “a gangster — a former golden boy who’s rotting” and admitted he could see parallels between the king and disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
He said: “Honestly, I never thought of him specifically — I didn’t focus in on Harvey’s life and downfall. But I was very aware that Henry symbolises the downfall of many men who soared through life with great success and got drunk on power, abused it and fell.
“And so Harvey must have crossed my mind. That disregard …”
Despite playing a king in the film, the ‘Talented Mr. Ripley’ star doesn’t consider himself a royalist.
He said: “I don’t know that I am. I’m intrigued by their history. But I’ve never been a great believer in treating someone a certain way because they are born under a title. And I don’t know that I want to bow down to anyone, personally.”

Gracie Abrams got back pain advice from Taylor Swift

OHMYGOSSIP — Gracie Abrams bought a budget acupressure mat on the recommendation of Taylor Swift.
The ‘Us’ singer – who was one of the opening acts for the ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker’s first US leg of her ‘Eras Tour’ concert series – suffers from back pain when she’s on the road for a period of time, but it has been eased thanks to a tip from her popstar pal.
In a social media interview for Who What Wear, Gracie said: “There’s this amazing acupressure mat that I think is like $15 on Amazon.
“It’s so painful, but it helps with back pain, and if you’re touring you must have back pain. Taylor gave me that advice.”
In her main interview with the outlet, the 25-year-old singer told how performing on the ‘Eras Tour’ had helped cure her stage fright.
She said: “I avoided [performing] at all costs.
“That rewired a huge chunk of my brain—not just in terms of performing and stage fright and that kind of s*** but in my life.
“I told myself that I knew I would hate performing. I knew I would be uncomfortable every second that I was onstage, and I didn’t end up feeling that way at all.
“It was really lovely to be wrong.”
The ‘Mess It Up’ singer got to join Taylor on stage at London’s Wembley Stadium in June to perform their collaboration ‘Us’, and the moment was an “out of body” experience for her.
She said: “We wrote it the way that we played it at Wembley.
“To see somebody have the ability to, in a stadium, make it feel like you and her are the only two people there, that was hugely important for me to see.”
Gracie will rejoin the ‘Eras’ tour in America and Canada next month and is excited to play songs from her album ‘The Secret of Us’ at the concerts.
She said: “I am so f****** happy that we get to do [‘The Secret of Us’] on ‘Eras’ just because so much of the album was undeniably inspired by the kind of energy that radiates from both Taylor herself and her fans, [who] are just so committed and passionate.”

‘I wish I could see you’: Sir Elton John laments lack of vision at TIFF screening

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John lamented his lack of vision at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The 77-year-old singer revealed earlier this week he had “limited” sight in one eye due to a “severe infection” and at the screening of his new documentary, ‘Never Too Late’, on Friday (06.09.24) night, the ‘Candle in the Wind’ hitmaker bemoaned the fact he couldn’t see the audience’s reaction properly.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Elton said: “The love I have for this family, my family, my children, and my friends, has never been better.
“I’m 77 years old, and I’m having the best time of my life, except for this f****** eye. I wish I could see you, but I can’t.”
Elton explained a few days ago he had been battling an eye infection and it would “take same time” for his vision to return.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, he shared: “Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.
“I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks. I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.
“With love and gratitude, Elton John.”
The pop icon actually stopped touring in 2023, and the ‘Tiny Dancer’ singer – who has sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with his husband David Furnish – previously revealed that he was looking forward to spending more time with his family.
The ‘Your Song’ hitmaker told CBS News in 2022: “I want to be with my family.
“I mean, I’ve been touring since I was 17 in the back of a van. I’ve had the most incredible life. I’ve been so lucky, and I’ve loved every single minute of it.
“But I’ve had enough of that applause, and I really want … I’ll be 76 years of age when I stop touring in 2023. I want to do something different with the rest of my life.”

Oasis ‘set for another £50m windfall from merch, brand deals and rumoured US tour’

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis are said to be set for another £50 million windfall from merchandise, brand deals and a rumoured US tour.
The band, fronted by formerly estranged brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, are already raking in a fortune in the wake of their announcement they are reforming for a string of stadium gigs in the UK and Ireland in 2025 – as their 1994 debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ is at the No1 spot in the charts.
A source told The Sun on Sunday about how the brothers could make another £50 million in side-deals and by adding US dates to their reunion next year: “It’s taken 15 years to get the warring brothers back together.
“There is every chance this could be their last hurrah, so everything’s getting monetised and they want to strike while the iron is hot.
“Marketing and advertising teams aren’t missing a trick. They are capitalising their comeback and everything has pound signs attached.”
The Sun estimated the band will bank at least £10 million from brand deals. Liam, 51, has already landed a £2.5 million collaboration with fashion label Stone Island, and Adidas for new trainers.
It said Noel, 57, is planning to unveil a new Gibson guitar after years of using the company’s guitars on stage.
The Sun added “US streetwear label Carharrt wants to join forces with the band: if they add US dates to their tour.
A source said: “Oasis have always had their own distinctive style and now they are gold dust.
“Both Liam and Noel have plenty of brand relationships from years as effortless fashion gods, so expect to see plenty of collabs.”
Another £20 million is expected to be raked in by the group from sales of everything from T-shirts to tea mugs.
An insider said: “Merchandise is cheap to make and revellers all want to get a hoodie or a tee so they can wear it like a badge of honour. It is hugely lucrative.
“There will be pop up shops in some of the major cities and the band will ensure some sleek designs especially for the tour.”
More millions could pour in from a rumoured US leg of their live tour, which could be set for iconic venues including Madison Square Garden in New York.
A source added: “The band’s music is bigger Stateside now than it was when they were originally together.
“The market potential is enormous and the tickets will be snapped up.”

They gathered at the Goodmothers bookstore in Summerland, miles from Meghan’s mansion in Montecito, California – with Laura hailing Meghan as one of the evening’s “light-filled speakers”.
It is unclear what Meghan said, but the event was billed as one of a series of “conversations” with guests being hosted by Godmothers, which is co-owned by literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh.
The store is promoting celebrity books including Meghan’s children’s book ‘The Bench’ and Prince Harry’s ‘Spare’ memoir.
It can currently be found at the front of the shop as part of its ‘Hometown Heroes’ shelf.

The event was held on the eve of the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death.
Meghan and Oprah, 70, have been friends for years, with the chat show host one of the guests at the duchess’ wedding to Harry in May 2018.
Her and Harry’s $14 million Montecito mansion is close to Oprah’s home, and in 2021 Meghan famously sat down with the broadcaster and her husband for an 85-miniute interview in which she accused an unnamed member of the royal family of asking what colour their first child would be.

King Charles continue return to public life by commemorating second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles has continued his return to public life by commemorating the second anniversary of his mother Queen Elizabeth’s death.
The 75-year-old monarch, who is said to be “doing well” amid his cancer fight, was driven to Crathie Kirk near his late mum’s beloved Balmoral home on Sunday (08.09.24), to mark her passing at the Scottish estate in September 2022 aged 96.
He was photographed appearing in good spirits as he and his wife Queen Camilla, 77, attended a church service in the afternoon to mark the occasion.
Charles was dressed in a charcoal grey suit teamed with a black and burgundy tie, while Camilla was in a red and green tartan ensemble and matching hat.
The visit came a day after Charles’ health is said to be heading in a “very positive” direction.
He revealed earlier this year he was battling an unnamed form of cancer which was detected after he went into hospital for a routine operation to correct an enlarged prostate, and a royal source said he is well on the road to recovery.
The insider told the Daily Mail Charles has also coped with the past year – which has also seen his daughter-in-law Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, have preventative cancer treatment – with a “determination to be as public as he was able” about his fight to reassure the nation about his capabilities as king.
They added: “Health has to remain the number one priority, albeit heading in a very positive trajectory.”
Charles and Camilla are set to go on a tour of Australia and Samoa in the autumn.
It will mark their first major overseas trip since news of Charles’ cancer was broken.
Camilla has been undertaking public royal visits in the last year and has repeatedly told royal fans during the trips Charles is strong and fighting back.
She gave her latest insight into Charles’ treatment this week when she opened a cancer centre in Bath – saying he is doing “very well”.
Charles stayed away from public duties for around three months after he was diagnosed with cancer in January.
He returned to work in April with a visit to a cancer centre in London where he met with fellow patients, and insiders say “down time” is set to be incorporated into his and Camilla’s visit to Australia and Samoa.

Heidi Klum declares her life is ‘nicer without clothes’

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Klum’s life is “nicer without clothes”.
The three-times married mother-of-four supermodel, 51, marked her fifth anniversary being married to her third husband, rocker Tom Kaulitz, 35, by posting a series of pictures showing off her body as they took a sunshine break and has now opened up about her years-long love of stripping off.
She was quoted in The Sun on Sunday saying: “Everything is much nicer without clothes. I grew up very free, not hiding or feeling insecure about myself or my body.
“As much as I love wearing beautiful lingerie or clothes, I also love not wearing too much.”
German-born former Victoria’s Secret model Heidi added about her love of naturism: “I grew up nude around my house, with my parents being nude, and us going on vacation with FKK (the German naturist movement that translates to ‘Free Body Culture’.)
“With our trailer or tent in FKK vacation places, I would always see people nude on the beach or nude swimming.
“I grew up on that. For me, that was never weird.”
Heidi stressed she limits her nakedness to appropriate locations, such as her private garden and specialist beaches.
But she said she also loves flaunting her body in the Caribbean, where she went for her anniversary break with Tom last month.
She added on the ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast: “I just came back from St Barts. We were there for two weeks, my husband and I, because the kids went with their dad to England.
“You see a lot of boobs out without a top, so I feel right at home there.
“But then there aren’t a lot of people on the beach so, when there aren’t a lot of people there, I think, ‘No tan lines for me!’
“I can’t wait to take my top off. It’s literally not a sexual thing, it’s a freedom thing.
“I think it feels great when you go through the waves with not a lot on.
“It’s also the feeling of the sun going on your full body, instead of having something on.”

Royal family pays tribute to late Queen Elizabeth on second anniversary of her death

OHMYGOSSIP — The royal family has paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth on the second anniversary of her death.
Its official social media account posted a photograph on X of the late monarch wearing a pink hat and matching outfit as she smiled during a summer Buckingham Palace garden party in 2019 – three years before she died at her beloved Balmoral estate in Scotland aged 96.
It was captioned: “Remembering Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022.”
The post was made on Sunday (08.09.24), exactly two years on from Elizabeth’s death, which saw her son Charles made king.
Her death came a year after the passing of her husband Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh, aged 99 in 2021.
Before her death, the Queen was struggling with her mobility and was forced to use a wheelchair behind the scenes to make it onto the Palace balcony to mark her Jubilee celebrations before her death.
Her death certificate revealed she died at 3.10pm, with the cause listed as old age.
It was followed by the execution of a plan known as London Bridge to honour her life, with parades, vigils, a lying in state and a state funeral in Westminster Abbey being held.
She is buried alongside her husband Philip, as well as her parents and sister Princess Margaret’s ashes in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
Charles, 75, continued his return to public life on Sunday amid his cancer battle by commemorating the second anniversary of her death by attending a church service in Scotland alongside his wife Queen Camilla, 77.

Elle Macpherson felt it was ‘not logical’ to have mastectomy as she battled breast cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle Macpherson felt it was “not logical” to have a mastectomy as she battled breast cancer.
The supermodel, 60, has been at the centre of a massive backlash from medics and cancer groups since she recently revealed she had been diagnosed with the disease seven years ago – but opted for alterative remedies in instead of traditional medicine after having a lumpectomy at the start of her treatment.
She has now added to the backlash by addressing her approach in an interview on ’60 Minutes Australia’, in which she said surgery flew in the face of her “belief system”, which led her to rely on an“intuitive, heart-led holistic approach”.
Elle – who is in remission from cancer – said: “As you can imagine, (the diagnosis) was a bit of a shock.
“I think any woman, most women, when they’re diagnosed, don’t think it will to happen to them.”
After having a lumpectomy Elle was told her cancer may have spread, and
was urged to have a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and hormone replacement.
But she said about the idea of taking the gruelling set of treatments: “I sit here cool as a cucumber talking about it but the reality is, you know, it was a very big deep breath moment – let’s put it that way.
“You know, it’s not logical. It was just an inner sense. I had a feeling that there was a different way to approach this and I followed it.
“It was a choice of losing my breasts, or losing my life, that I was given. So it was not a vanity choice, let me put it that way.
“It was a natural route in my treatment from within.”
Elle insisted she has always followed “natural” medicine, and said her choice was as “unconventional” as the “rest of her life”.
The model went against the advice of 32 doctors by refusing chemotherapy after undergoing a lumpectomy for HER2 positive oestrogen receptive intraductal carcinoma.
She had eight months of intense therapy with a team of doctors in Phoenix, Arizona, all specialising in various holistic medicine disciplines.
