Catherine, Princess of Wales’ children joyously larked about in video she used to announce she’s ‘cancer-free’

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales’ children joyously larked about in nature in the video she used to announce she is “cancer-free”.
The royal mother-of-three, 42, broke the news along with a video released late afternoon on Monday (09.09.24), which was shot last month.
Along with showing her and her husband Prince William, 42, cuddling up – with the princess laying her head on his shoulder – the clip also showed the couple’s children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, enjoying a picnic with their parents and playing in Norfolk.
The family are also seen laughing while playing card games and messing around with a camera.
Prince George is seen in the clip grinning as he carried a cricket bat while hiking through the woods with his mum, dad and siblings.
The Waleses’ three kids are also seen dressing in summer clothes on nature walks, while a snap showed Prince Louis laughing as he was pushed on a swing by Catherine.
Another moment shows George staring down the lens of the camera as he asks “Is this filming?” while sitting on a picnic blanket with his mum.
Louis then chips in by saying “Hello!” while Charlotte also giggles.
The family are also seen clambering over wooden logs and sharing cuddles – with Catherine’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton joining the fun.
Catherine, William and their kids are seen in another moment racing through the sea, with George and Charlotte – who were guests at Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ show at Wembley Stadium earlier this year – seen wearing friendship bracelets.
Catherine said in a statement that went with the video: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
It still remains unclear what type of cancer Catherine was fighting.

Catherine, Princess of Wales ‘set to return to work by attending string of royal engagements’

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales is reportedly set to mark her return to work by attending a string of royal engagements.
The royal mother-of-three, 42, told the world she was “cancer free” in a statement released on Monday (09.09.24), sparking reports she will soon be back in the public eye.
According to The Sun, Catherine – who has children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, with her 42-year-old husband Prince William – will appear “at some engagements in the coming months”.
The outlet added they would include “charity events that are close to her heart”.
It comes after Kensington Palace revealed the princess has already started to work from home on some projects.
She had taken months out of the spotlight after revealing earlier this year she was getting preventative therapy – with King Charles, 75, still battling an undisclosed form of the disease.
Her full statement, given in a video shot last month, was: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.
“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.
“I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.
“Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.
“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.
“To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

Sir Elton John’s husband hit with ‘lot of anxiety’ watching singer’s new documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John’s husband was filled with anxiety as he watched the singer’s new documentary.
The ‘Rocketman’ singer, 77, has been married to David Furnish, 61, since 2014 and the pair have sons Zachary, 13 and Elijah, 11 – and the film shows a poignant scene in which Elton discusses the prospect he will probably not be alive to see milestones in their kids’ lives.
David, who co-directed ‘Elton John: Never Too Late’ with 62-year-old filmmaker RJ Cutler, told People about the emotional moment: “I don’t think it’s a conversation you want to have with your children. I don’t want to plant that seed in their mind.
“Elton’s been through a lot, but he’s also as strong as an ox. He rarely cancels shows. He’s a strong man, and he’s a healer. He’ll probably outlive me. He’s just so tough.”
David added watching the film gave him “a lot of anxiety”, and added he wants Elton to never die.
He said: “Look, I want him to be around forever. And both of us, in the 30 years we’ve been together, we’re only just at this moment that we’ve only ever dreamed of.”
David went on about his husband recently giving up touring: “Elton was always doing 90, 100 shows a year, working constantly… and then we had our sons, and then that whole reality takes place.”
The director said five-time Grammy winning Elton’s decision to stop going on the road was not the product of an “instant epiphany”, but rather the product of them wanting to treasure as much time as possible together as a family.
David insisted: “He’s never going back on the road. He’s genuinely so happy. “So for us to be at this moment right now, after so much hard work and so much anticipation, there’s a lot of heightened emotion.”
Elton says in his documentary his kids “worry about my mortality,” and that they “love their daddy, so they want me to be around forever”.

Selena Gomez reveals why she gave up trying to disguise herself in public years ago

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez gave up trying to disguise herself in public years ago – as she thought her distinctive voice always gave her away.
The 32-year-old singer and actress shot to fame as a child actress in the kids’ TV series ‘Barney and Friends’, in which she starred from 2002, when she was aged 10, to 2004 – then sealed her place in Hollywood playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel sitcom ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ from 2007 to 2012.
When asked if she has ever tried to hide herself from her obsessive fans, Selena told Vanity Fair: “Yeah, it doesn’t work. “Literally one time I was in line for something. I was fully in disguise, and I was talking to someone.
“I don’t even remember what I said. And then the woman in front of me goes, ‘My God, it is you! I thought I heard your voice!’
“I was like, oh God, what do I sound like to people? And then I also feel so silly once I get busted.”
Selena has seen her fame continue to soar thanks to her role in ‘Only Murders in the Building’, and has just given her rawest performance in the movie musical ‘Emilia Pérez’, in which she plays a Mexican drug baron’s petrified but resourceful wife.
She added one thing she has never stopped doing in public is going to her fellow singers’ gigs.
Selena added: “I love female artists. I’ve been to all the girls’ concerts – Billie (Eilish), Dua (Lipa)… .”
She also paid tribute to her close friend Taylor Swift, 34, who has been one of her longtime pals.
Selena said: “She is really like a big sister to me.”
Her Vanity Fair profile added the pair “talk about the industry from time to time, with Gomez seeking advice on music or how to navigate new friendships at their respective levels of fame”.
But it added: “More often than not, though, they’re just gossiping about the things that all friends gossip about and comparing notes on the latest season of ‘Vanderpump Rules’.”
Selena said about her love of reality TV: “I’m on ‘The Valley’ now. I’ve watched every episode of ‘Vanderpump’, so I don’t care if it’s bad!”

Catherine, Princess of Wales ‘set to join Royal Family at Cenotaph for Remembrance Sunday’

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales is set to join the Royal Family at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
The royal mother-of-three, 42, told the world she was “cancer-free” in a statement released on Monday (09.09.24), sparking reports she will soon be back in the public eye.
Her statement has now sparked fresh speculation the remembrance day appearance in London will be central to her return to the spotlight.
In the wake of her cancer news, royal fans have been resharing a report from the Sunday Telegraph saying she was “hoping to join the Royal Family at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday”.
It added later in the year she will want to host her annual Christmas carol concert.
The newspaper said she would “potentially” join King Charles, 75, on 10 November at the national service in Whitehall in honour of those who died in World War Two.
It added planning was “said to be underway for her annual televised ‘Together at Christmas’ carol service at Westminster Abbey in December if she continues to have more ‘good days’.”
Catherine said on Monday even though she was cancer free after receiving preventative treatment for the disease since earlier this year, the road to recovery would be “long”.
It comes after a written message in July in which she said she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods yet” and was experiencing “good days and bad days”.
When she announced she was undergoing cancer treatment she described it as a “huge shock” for herself, her husband Prince William, 42, and their three children, saying it took time for them to explain it to their kids “in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK”.

James Earl Jones spent final years battling diabetes

OHMYGOSSIP — James Earl Jones spent his final years battling diabetes.
The ‘Star Wars’ actor, who voiced Darth Vader in the franchise, died on Monday (09.09.24) aged 93 at his home in New York, and one of his last interviews has since resurfaced in which he told for the first time he had been secretly fighting diabetes since the 1990s.
Oscar-winning James, who also voiced Mustafa in ‘The Lion King’, told in 2018 how the diagnosis had hit him “like a thunderbolt” – adding the “shock” of the condition had made him focus more on the state of his health as he aged.
He added on the ‘Rachael Ray Show’ about how he had been quietly managing the illness for 20 years: “I was lucky that it was discovered as it was quite by accident. I was in a centre for weight control and diet, trying to lose some weight and I fell asleep on the bench in the middle of the gymnasium one day.
“The doctor who was there said, ‘That’s not normal’, and he encouraged me to go and get checked out. Then I got a test and there it was, type 2 diabetes. It hit me like a thunderbolt.
“I had to retrain myself to be aware of when my body is telling me something.
“Usually with low blood sugar, it’s easy to notice. With high blood sugar, it’s not as easy, and that can be the most dangerous aspect of type 2 diabetes.”
James also revealed his mother was a type 2 diabetic so he should have been “alerted” to the possibility he would also end up with the condition.
He went on: “Older people are at risk, my mother had it. So I should’ve been alerted, but no. One thing I thought was, ‘It’s never gonna happen to me’.
“So when it was discovered, it was by accident. And I feel lucky.
“My wife, my manager, and my assistant – who’s also my son – are always there to support me and make sure I’m eating the healthiest I can.
“I don’t leave home without my son.”
James went on about how the condition did not halt his career: “I can live to the extent that I can do all the work I used to do 10 years ago.
“I love working, and at my age I still love being able to put in eight shows a week on a play or handle a long schedule if I’m doing film or television.
“I didn’t want that to stop, so I had to take responsibility for my condition. It’s more important that I address diabetes, because I will always be a diabetic.”
In 1968, James married actress and singer Julienne Marie, who he met while performing as Othello in 1964.
They had no children and divorced in 1972 and 10 years later he married actress Cecilia Hart, with whom he had a son, Flynn.
She died from ovarian cancer on 16 October, 2016.

Selena Gomez says she’s learned not to announce her regular social media breaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez has learned not to announce her regular social media breaks.
The 32-year-old singer and actress has made a habit of announcing to her hundreds of millions of online fans she would be resting from posting – only to post again around a day later.
She has now told Vanity Fair about her new social media blackout policy: “I learned not to say that anymore.”
Her magazine profile added she was currently on a hiatus from the web, with Selena adding about her time out: “I’ve been loving it. I’ve been working out. I’ve been taking care of myself. It’s the first time I’ve had a break in a little bit. So I feel good.”
Selena also hinted she wanted to keep her year-long relationship with music producer Benny Blanco, offline, adding: “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules.
“I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”
And the actress also dropped a hint if she and Benny got hitched she would not be abiding by the tradition of dropping her surname.
She said: “I’m not changing my name no matter what. I am Selena Gomez. That’s it.”
In February 2023, Selena became the most followed woman on Instagram after surpassing Kylie Jenner.
Selena has previously revealed she had taken a four-year break from social media by allowing her team to run her accounts.
She told ‘Good Morning America’: “It has changed my life completely. I am happier, I am more present, I connect more with people. I understand how powerful the internet is, and in so many ways it’s done the best things for the world.”
Selena’s most recent announcement she was giving up social media came in January after the 81st annual Golden Globe awards, with the actress telling fans: “I’m off social for a while. I’m focusing on what really matters.”
One day later, she returned online to promote a cooking video with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Catherine, Princess of Wales appeared to echo Queen Elizabeth’s fighting spirit in ‘cancer-free’ video

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales appears to have hinted Queen Elizabeth’s fighting spirit helped her through her cancer battle.
The royal mother-of-three, 42, cut a strikingly similar pose to the late monarch – who died two years ago aged 96 – in a video she released on Monday (09.09.24) to announce she was “cancer-free” – as a segment of it showed her driving a Land Rover near her family’s rural residence of Anmer Hall, Norfolk.
She was seen changing gears and motoring through the countryside in footage similar to that shot of the Queen doing the same in her 1992 BBC documentary ‘Elizabeth R: A Year in the Life of the Queen’.
A clip that has resurfaced since Catherine released her video shows the monarch, who was then 66, driving through a wood in the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
The Queen was regularly seen driving around her various royal estates in Land Rovers over the years, and commentators and royal fans have claimed Catherine was obviously channelling and giving a “nod” to the Queen’s famous stiff upper lip by posing like Her Majesty in her Land Rover.
Along with announcing she had beaten the cancer with which was she was diagnosed earlier this year, Catherine used her video to show her cosying up to her husband Prince William, 42, and playing with their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis.
Her clip has been praised as a “polished” bit of publicity by British PR expert Mark Borkowski.
He told the MailOnline it allowed the Wales family to show their “vulnerability” while “staying in command”.
He added: “The Kate film is a groundbreaking moment. The household on the front foot. Let’s not forget that they lost control of the cancer narrative by staying silent (earlier this year.)
“They have really learnt from the initial mistakes. The ghost of the Queen still ruled the PR machine. But this is epic. It’s groundbreaking, an absolute first. A tectonic shift in how the Royal Family controls its image.
“Kate’s journey is profound and deeply personal, but they’ve learned that emotion can be controlled – and weaponised – in small, potent doses. By doing this through a polished film, they maintain dignity and control while still appearing relatable.”
The video was shot by London-based filmmaker Will Warr, who has also created content for Jamie Oliver, Ed Sheeran and Stanley Tucci.

Agatha All Along star Sasheer Zamata comes out as ‘late in life lesbian’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sasheer Zamata has come out as “one of those late-in-life lesbians”.
The ‘Agatha All Along’ actress – who previously appeared on ‘Saturday Night Life’ from 2014 and 2017 – explained that she doesn’t “necessarily” want her identity to be kept “private” as she revealed she is part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Speaking to Them magazine, she said: “I’m out in my life and I do keep my personal life kind of private, but I also don’t necessarily want my identity to be private.
“I guess I’m one of those late-in-life lesbians. I just feel very comfortable and confident in my life.”
The 38-year-old actress – who has also appeared in ‘Woke’, ‘Waco: The Aftermath’, ‘Home Economics’ and more – reflected on being repeatedly cast as “queer women” in various projects before she had come to terms with her own sexuality.
She recalled: “I kept getting cast as queer women. I played a lesbian on Home Economics.
“I played a lesbian on ‘Woke’. I played a lesbian on ‘Tuca and Bertie’. A lesbian on ‘Last O.G.’
“I kept getting these roles. And this is before I myself was figuring out my identity. I was like, ’Whoa, what are these casting directors seeing that I’m not seeing?’”
Sasheer decided to open up about her sexuality now because she didn’t want to keep “ignoring a part of me” publicly, despite considering the idea of just not discussing it.
She explained: “No one asks straight people about their journey of discovery, but I guess it felt like if I didn’t say anything, I’d be ignoring a part of me, and that doesn’t feel very good.
“But yeah, I’ve definitely had thoughts of, not necessarily keeping it a secret, but [that] there’s no need to say anything about it.”
And she had praised for singer Chappell Roan for setting her own “boundaries” with fans when it comes to privacy as a celebrity.
She said: “As far as what people deserve to know? Nothing. They don’t deserve anything. I feel very fortunate so far.
“I have fans who are good about respecting my privacy, and I hope that continues. And I hope artists like Chappell Roan who are very clear about boundaries keep going.”

Venus Williams admits Sjogren’s syndrome ‘takes its toll’

OHMYGOSSIP — Venus Williams admits Sjogren’s syndrome “takes its toll” on her body.
The 44-year-old tennis legend – who is a seven time Grand Slam winner and the older sister of fellow sporting icon Serena Williams, 42 – revealed in 2011 that she was suffering with the disease, which causes antibodies to attack moisture-producing glands in the body.
She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I had all kinds of symptoms, but that was very challenging as an athlete. When you crash, you go so hard that you can’t get up, literally.
“But I still got up, because I had to. Lying in bed is not fun. There is no substitute for being well. I had to change my pace.
“It took seven years before I was diagnosed. It was a head-trip. I wasn’t reaching my full potential, and I didn’t know why.
“Was I working too hard? What was I doing wrong? That takes its toll and it’s not easy to walk out there when you don’t have much to give.”
In rare cases, complications from Sjogren’s can cause kidney problems, uclers, salivary gland infections or pancreatitis.
Some people suffering with the disease could also experience rashes, joint paint, fatique, a persistent cough and other symptoms.
Venus has insisted she plans to keep playing tennis in a bid to “look good” as she encouraged others to take on the sport.
She explained: “I have never neared a burnout, although last week I said I needed a permanent vacation! But I was going too hard for a few months with my schedule.
“That was my decision. We don’t always have a choice, but periods of rest are so important. I do weights, and I swim in an Olympic-size public pool near my home surrounded by pines in Florida.
“I’m still training, not every day like before but I’ll always need to be on court.
“It’s a wonderful way to stay fit, burn calories and have great legs and arms! If you want to look good, play tennis. It doesn’t look like work but it’s exhausting.”
Venus also admitted she hopes keeping up with tennis will delay the effects of ageing.
She added: “I will do that as long as I have cartilage. If I keep playing, hopefully the ageing process won’t start.”

He said in a statement: “James was an incredible actor, a most unique voice both in art and spirit.
“For nearly half a century he was Darth Vader, but the secret to it all is he was a beautiful human being.

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, added: “James Earl Jones is one of the most versatile and talented actors of our time, with an iconic body of work across film, stage and television.
“The menacing baritone he brought to Darth Vader will forever be beloved by fans and regarded as one of the great villainous performances in cinema. His commanding presence on screen, and warm personality off screen, will be greatly missed.”
One of Jones’ most iconic scenes came in 1980 movie ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ when Darth Vader told Luke Skywalker: “I am your father.”
Following Jones’ death, Hamill, who portrayed Skywalker, wrote on X: “#RIP dad [heart-broken emoji]”
On Instagram, he posted: “One of the world’s finest actors whose contributions to Star Wars were immeasurable. He’ll be greatly missed. #RIP dad (sic)”
Broderick also portrayed Jones’ on-screen son.
He starred as Simba in 1994 animated movie ‘The Lion King’, and the actor has praised Jones as “one of the very best of his or any generation”.
He told PEOPLE: “I’m so lucky to have had a chance to work with James Earl Jones. To have had him play my father, my king! And to get to know him a little bit.
“I’d cross paths with him from time to time over the years and I was always so thrilled to see him.
“He was a great listener. Far different from what you might imagine from that austere, kingly, beautiful voice.
“His brilliant, frightening, heart-breaking performance in Fences might be my favourite but there really are so many great performances in that long, magnificent career it’s impossible to choose a favourite.”
“One of the very best of his or any generation. A great American actor.”
Disney CEO Bob Iger has also paid tribute to Jones, highlighting the “uniquely commanding presence and a true richness of spirit” he brought to his roles.
He said: “From the gentle wisdom of Mufasa to the menacing threat of Darth Vader, James Earl Jones gave voice to some of the greatest characters in cinema history.
“A celebrated stage actor with nearly 200 film and television credits to his name, the stories he brought to life with a uniquely commanding presence and a true richness of spirit have left an indelible mark on generations of audiences.
“On behalf of all of us at Disney, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Kim Kardashian was ‘fighting against’ the idea of her son having a YouTube channel

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian was “fighting against” the idea of her son having a YouTube channel.
The 43-year-old reality superstar – who has North, 11, Saint, eight, Chicago, six, and five-year-old Psalm with ex-husband Kanye West – recently saw her second child launch a social media presence and described the whole thing as a “blessing in disguise” because of how it has brought hm closer to his older sister.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Follow Saint on YouTube because he stalks me every single day! It’s hard because I’m here and I need to approve every video but I will say that it has brought him and North closer together because she’s filming his content and making him do challenges so it’s actually a blessing in disguise. I was fighting against it but it’s working in my favour!”
Kim revealed earlier this month that she had “finally allowed” her eldest boy to launch an account on the platform, but compiled a strict list of rules for his posts first.

The ‘Kardashians’ star shared the handwritten contract on her Instagram Story and wrote: “Saint signed a solid contract for his YouTube Channel. He better not breach.”
The document – which was signed by Saint – acknowledged the youngster “agreed to follow mom’s rules.”
It stated: “I am not allowed to comment any personal family information. I am not allowed to film any personal information. I am not allowed to film while North is recording music.”
Kim’s caption then obscured the next few sentences, but it then continued: “I must show my mom or guardian all videos before I post them. I give permission to any grown up if mom says to delete my video for any reason.”
And if Saint breaches the terms, the youngster’s stint on the video platform could be up.
The contract concluded: “If I don’t listen to all of the rules, mom could make my page private or delete my account.”

Harry Potter casting call launched to find new stars for reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Harry Potter’ bosses have launched an open casting call for the upcoming HBO remake.
The team behind the upcoming original series – which is a revival of the iconic film franchise adapted from J.K. Rowling’s wizarding books – are looking for a new trio to take on the roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger with children from the UK and Ireland invited to audition.
The casting call reads: “We are currently only able to consider children who are aged 9-11 in April 2025, and a resident of the UK or Ireland.
“Please only apply if you meet the brief.”
This suggests filming will be underway in seven months, which matches the timeline it took to cast Daniel Radcliffe in the title role back in 2000, when he was 11 years old.
Emma Watson and Rupert Grint – who played Hermione and Ron in the original films – were 10 and 12 when they were cast.
The brief adds: “We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting.
“For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.”
In the initial round of casting, candidates are invited to submit two self-taped audition videos in their native accent.
The first should be a short story or poem – “nothing from Harry Potter” – which lasts no longer than 30 seconds.
In the second clip, which can be up to a minute, they are asked: “Please record a short video telling us a bit about yourself, including your date of birth, height and where you live.
“In addition, please describe any family member, friend or pet that you are particularly close to.”
The series has been described as a “faithful” adaptation of the influential book series, with ‘Succession’ pair Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod joining as writer and director respectively.
