Snoop Dogg’s journey to ‘America’s most loveable person’

OHMYGOSSIP — Snoop Dogg believes he has evolved into “America’s most loveable person”.
The 52-year-old rapper thinks he is a “lesson” to others because he’s been able to leave his criminal background – which led to him being banned from the UK, Australia and Norway for various periods of time – behind and become a welcome face in the spotlight without changing who he is at heart.
He told People magazine: “You think about all the things that I went through and where I’m at.
“It’s a lesson: to let the world see growth, how somebody can go from being hated, banned from countries, thrown in jail [for] weed, to now America’s most lovable person. But it’s the same person.”
The ‘Gin + Juice’ hitmaker got involved in criminal activity in the late 1980s and 1990s and his ambition at the time was just to live to the age of 21.
He reflected: “When I was young, we used to rap about living to see 21. That was the goal. Then my homies passed away at 25. So the goal was to be 30.”
But after the death of friends such as Tupak Shakur and being found not guilty in a murder case, Snoop knew he needed to change is life.
He said: “I was stuck in a box with keeping it gangster and trying to appease the hood. [I realised] you can’t take everybody with you.
“I had to be egotistical and self-centred for a moment to establish how I get down. And I don’t apologise for it.”
Snoop can next be seen as a coach on ‘The Voice’ and he’s excited for what he can bring to the show.
He said: “My voice is like nobody else’s. Fans are going to be re-energized. I’m going to coach with care and honesty.”
And the singing competition has given him an unlikely friendship with fellow panellist Michael Buble.
Michael said: “I honestly had no idea what to expect when I first met Snoop.
“But our connection was immediate. It’s a beautiful thing when you meet someone, and it just clicks. Like the rest of the planet, I’ve always been a Snoop fan.”

Hugh Grant says people were ‘repelled’ by his fake heartthrob persona

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant thinks people were “repelled” by his public persona in the 1990s.
The 64-year-old actor’s breakthrough role came in Richard Curtis’ 1994 film ‘Four Weddings And A Funeral’, and after finding success as the flustered heartthrob in other rom-coms like ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Love Actually’ and ‘Music and Lyrics’, he started to adopt the character in real life.
He told Vanity Fair magazine: “People quite rightly were repelled by it in the end.”
While he became typecast for a while, Hugh admitted the parts were “actually character roles” because they are a world away from the real man.
He explained: “The irony of the Richard Curtis parts I played is that they were actually character roles for me — I’m not that stutter-y, blink-y guy.
“The catastrophic mistake I made was that because ‘Four Weddings’ was such a gigantic success, I thought, ‘Oh well, this is the way of infinite wealth and success. People are eating up that person.'”
From there, Hugh decided to adopt the persona at award shows and in interviews, but described himself as a “d***”.
He added: “So I did him in real life: I started doing interviews [as him].
“In my Golden Globe acceptance speech from 1995, I said, ‘I love you, gosh, blah blah. Thank you so much’ — what a d***.
“I’m playing the character because I thought everyone was eating him up. It was never me at all.”
Being in ‘Cloud Atlas’ reminding him of his love for acting, and he was able to go back to his roots with more interesting projects.
He said: “I thought, ‘Oh yeah, I used to really enjoy doing characters — in fact, I almost used to enjoy acting’.
“I started out doing silly voices, odd people, making people laugh at university, and then doing this comedy show in London. It was doing characters.
“Then through sheer chance, maybe because of the way I looked, I got drawn into the leading romantic hero. It went fine, but it’s not what I think I’m best at—partly because it’s less fun.”

“I’ve heard a lot of do this, don’t say that, where this, don’t cut your hair.
“One of the biggest reasons I’m standing here right now is because I learned how to block out all of the noise, that every single artist in this industry has to constantly fight against, especially women.
“I just want to say with my whole heart, do whatever it takes to stay true to yourself and true to your art.
“Turn off social media, safeguard your mental health. Pause. Touch grass. And do what you were born to do, just like I was born to do this.”

She said: “Thank you so much to MTV for believing in my weirdness from day one, and for being such a pivotal teacher to so many generations that an artist’s there are so many things that have to align to have a long and successful career as an artist. There are no decades-long accidents.
“Trust me, it takes a village of strong people, a lot of healthy discourse, and a lot of group chats. My parents and my family, who are an endless source of support and the deepest roots I know. We don’t always agree, but what a lesson that those disagreements can still be full of love.
“Thank you to MySpace, Warped Tour, and all the bygone places where I found a voice identity, and community so early on. Thank you to my friends who go when my Jetta was repossessed, my Katycats who do, too, and my LGBTQ community, who I recognise I would not be here without, who showed me that you can be both kind and snatched.”

Taylor and Post Malone won the Best Collaboration prize for ‘Fortnight’, and she used her acceptance speech to pay tribute to the September 11th victims and their loved ones.

Halle Berry wants to be celebrated for more than just her looks

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Berry is looking forward to being valued for more than her looks as she gets older.
The 58-year-old actress – who has daughter Nahla, 16, and son Maceo, 10, from previous relationships – isn’t worried about her beauty starting to fade because praise for her appearance has always been a “hollow win” as she believes she has so much more to offer the world.
She told America’s Marie Claire magazine: “I’ve always known that I’ve been more than this face and more than this body.
“So when that starts to go, maybe for the first time in my life, people will focus on the other aspects of me that I think are way more interesting.
“It might feel good to have everybody look at you, but it’s always been a hollow win for me because I had nothing to do with how I came here looking.
“I do have everything to do with the kind of mother that I am, the kind of partner that I’ve been, the movies that I’ve been a part of, the acting accolades I’ve garnered over the years, my charity work. I do take ownership over those things that I’ve worked really hard at, and if somebody finds value in those things that lights me up.”
The ‘Bruised’ star – who is in a relationship with 54-year-old musician Van Hunt – believes women are judged much more unfairly than women and vowed to fight against ageism.
She added: “Age is just a number that they stick on us at birth.
“As women, we get defined by it way more than men do and sometimes it can debilitate us. It can trick us into thinking what we’re supposed to do.
“We have to kick that in the face and say, no, I’m going to do what I can do as long as I feel good doing it! And that will be whatever I want it to be. I get to define that.”
As she has got older, Halle has grown in confidence and no longer feels she has to impress people.
She said: “I’m now usually one of the oldest people in every room I walk in and that’s a good feeling.
“I don’t have to be the dancing bear. I don’t have to worry about appeasing everybody in the room, or care about everybody else’s egos, or their insecurities, or give them what they’re wanting from me if it’s not what I’m wanting to give them.
“My daughter says, ‘don’t ask mom, because she’s got no f**** to give. Don’t ask her unless you want the answer for real.’”

Liam Gallagher made first move to end feud with Noel Gallagher

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher made the first move to end his feud with brother Noel Gallagher.
The pair hadn’t spoken since their band Oasis split in 2009 due to the tensions between them but they announced last month they were reuniting for a tour in 2025, and now the ‘Everything’s Electric’ hitmaker has explained it took him calling his older sibling to set the wheels in motion.
Asked “what’s happening” with him and Noel, Liam told a fan on X, formerly Twitter: “Rite so we’re in this band called oasis decent he’s a guitarist I’m the singer and we’re gonna do some gigs nxt year hope that’s cleared things up (sic)”
He was then asked who called who first, and replied: “I called him but don’t tell anyone as I do t wont folk thinking I’m a soft lad and stuffs keep it between me n you cheers x (sic)”
The 51-year-old rocker is excited about getting back on stage with the band.
Asked if he feels “stressed” about performing as a band again, he said: “I’m ready to go Rasta this is what I do Rkid if everyone stays in there f****** lane and has it all will be irie (sic)”
Oasis faced a backlash when some fans paid more than the advertised ticket costs due to dynamic pricing when their concerts went on sale and Liam joked he has thought about making prices even higher.
One X user wrote: “Should make tickets more expensive for s**** n gigs (sic)”
Liam replied: “It had crossed my mind.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Wonderwall’ singer declared his group made Britpop rivals Blur “relevant” and claimed the ‘Country House’ hitmakers would have “been dropped” by their record label if it wasn’t for their public war of words.
He wrote: “Blur we’re on there way out until we came along and made them relevant by giving them s*** if it wasn’t for us they’d have been dropped (sic)”

Prince Phillip planned to ‘meet an alien’

OHMYGOSSIP — The late Prince Phillip’s equerry arranged for him to meet an alien, it has been claimed.
A new documentary focused on the royal family’s interest in the paranormal and UFOs tells the story of how the Duke of Edinburgh – who died in 2021 aged 99 – was due to discuss “saving the planet” with an alleged other-worldly being, but it is now believed he would have actually sat down with a Russian spy if the meeting had gone ahead.
Information about ‘The King Of UFOs’ states: “The film looks at the interest that the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip had in UFOs and crop circles. It delves into an episode where Prince Phillip was due to meet an alleged alien called Janus at a flat in Chelsea.
“This Janus had already met with Phillip’s equerry Sir Peter Horsley and he wanted to pass on information about saving the planet to Phillip.
“The meeting never took place and it is most likely that this Janus character was actually a Russian Spy.”
And the documentary also sees historian Richard Felix speculate Philip’s wife, the late Queen Elizabeth, wanted to study secret Vatican documents to find out more about UFOs.
Richard said: “The Queen has alleged to have requested documents from the Vatican Secret Archives. The Vatican headquarters of the Catholic church as a well-known secret archive where documents go back thousands of years possibly, detailing the origins of Christianity and such like. But also there’s this allegations that they’re holding the truth about the UFO phenomena.
“53 miles of corridors full of secret documents and items including skulls of extraterrestrials down in the cellars of the Vatican and various other things. In other words, they are into, although they believe the world to be 6,400 years old, they are into aliens. They’ve got an observatory in Arizona. They have an observatory at the Pope’s Summer palace in Rome.
“The Vatican always had an interest in UFOs. It’s got his own Cardinal and Monsignors appointed to deal with first contact with extraterrestrials. So it’s always had an act of interest. So maybe that’s because they know more.
“There is some speculation that they were privy to a UFO landing in Sicily in the Second World War and Mussolini recovered this. So some say they actually may have a UFO.
“And of course an orange saucer shaped ship craft has been seen on more than one occasion hovering over the Vatican. There is even talk that the pope is an alien. ”
‘The King of UFOs’ is now streaming worldwide on GAIA at https://www.gaia.com/video/the-king-of-ufos.
It is also coming to Amazon Prime and streaming on Tubi.

Sam Asghari explains why he didn’t read Britney Spears’ tell-all memoir: ‘I did not read the book because I was there’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Asghari has explained why he didn’t read ex-wife Britney Spears’ memoir.
The 30-year-old actor was married to pop megastar Britney, 42, from 2022 until 2023, and he filed for divorce from her two months after her tell-all tome ‘The Woman In Me’ was released.
Sam didn’t feel the need to read the book, in which Britney referred to him as a “gift from God”, because “he was there”.
He told the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter: “I did not read the book because I was there.”
Referring to an NDA he is said to have signed, he added: “If my life is private, it’s private. That’s something I’m always going to respect, regardless of any agreement or not.
“It’s just the values that I have.”
The book is being turned into a biopic and Sam recently insisted he will not “get involved” with the film.
Universal Pictures has secured the rights for a big-screen adaptation of the book, and Sam has given the project his blessing but doesn’t want to star in it himself.
He told Access Hollywood: “I don’t get involved with other people’s projects creatively, but I think a lot of producers who are gonna be involved in it, they are gonna do justice by this amazing legacy that she had.”
When the ‘Jackpot’ star and Britney started their relationship, the ‘…Baby One More Time’ hitmaker had been under a conservatorship that gave her immediate family control of her multi-million-dollar fortune and various aspects of her life but that was terminated less than a year before she tied the knot with Sam.
Her parents did not attend the ceremony, and instead, the guest list was made up of A-listers like Madonna, Selena Gomez, and Paris Hilton
Despite the marriage lasting just over a year, Sam recently insisted he just wants the “best” for his ex-wife.
He told E! News: “You learn so much from being in relationships in general. I appreciate all the amazing experiences that I got.
“I’m always going to celebrate the past. and learn about the past and move on to the future.
“I wish her the best.
“She’s an amazing person and a huge part of my life and I always appreciate the moments we had together.”
It was recently revealed that the upcoming biopic could potentially be filmed in the house that Britney grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana before she shot to fame in the late 1990s.
The homeowner – who put the property on the market last year for $1.2 million – is also “willing to move out of the home for however long it takes to film” but expects to be financially compensated.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Hamill still hasn’t got over Carrie Fisher’s death.
The 72-year-old actor has “never stopped missing” his beloved ‘Star Wars’ co-star – who died in 2016 aged 60 after suffering a cardiac arrest – and admitted she was like a sister to him in real life.
He told E! News: “I’ve never stopped missing her. When I hung out with Carrie, you were guaranteed to laugh all day.
“We were brother and sister in more than one way, where we would fight too. And then, days later, it was all forgotten.
“She was marvellous, and losing her was something that I still haven’t gotten over.”
The ‘Wild Robot’ star wishes he could tell Carrie how much he loved her.
Asked what he would say to her now if he could, he simply said: “I love you and I miss you.”
Mark previously admitted he had a “tumultuous relationship” with Carrie that could lead to them going months wihout speaking.
In an interview with Esquire magazine, he explained: “I have to tell you, we had a tumultuous relationship. We could be as loving and supportive as possible, then we could have big arguments and say: ‘Well, I never want to speak to you again,’ and not speak for six months.”
However, the sulky silences didn’t last long and they always picked up their friendship where they left off.
Mark added: “Every time you came back, you picked up right where you left off. We had a connection that is special.”
The ‘Knightfall’ actor loved nothing more than making Carrie laugh, just as she “lived” to entertain other people.
He said: “She lived to make others laugh. And it was always a point of satisfaction for me to be able to make her laugh.”

Terry, 56, told People magazine: “Me and my wife, we know what it’s like to lose a child.
“We’ve had three miscarriages. It’s one of those things where it was so meaningful and special because the dedication is just, it’s a way to process these things.
“And how he brought that up, I was like, ‘Wow.’ I think the show needed it. … This is the perfect ‘AGT’ show today.
“We balanced out everything. We had the laughs, we had the dedications, we had the fun, we had the dancing. It was just all over the place and it was perfect.”
Terry values the bond he has with Rebecca and knows they can always turn to one another for support, whatever they are going through.
Asked what helps him through difficult times, he said: “One thing I do is music.
“I sit in a room and listen to music and it helps me process … all the things I’m feeling.
“Then the other thing is I just talk to my wife. We talk it out. We have really, really nice long, deep conversation. Turn the TV off, turn the phone off and let’s just talk it through.
“And it’s amazing what that does. You know what I mean? Definitely. It really, truly, you turn around an hour later you’re like, ‘Wow, I can handle anything.’ ”
The ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ actor previously admitted he used to start fights with his wife to ddiction.
Speaking on ‘Armchair Expert’, he said: “My wife man, I tell her: ‘How did you put up with me?’… You try to be normal and nice, but I would be angry, I would go off … I was addicted to pornography …
“It was a secret, I would die before anybody knew … I would lie straight out and that also started guilt. So I was walking around a human pile of guilt.
“And so my wife would go: ‘Where were you?’ And I would go: ‘What do you mean where was I? Why are you always checking where I am?’ … I’d start an argument so she wouldn’t ask more questions. Poor woman … It was horrible.”
Terry admitted he also took out his anger on the couple’s five children, adding: “My kids, I would be angry with them for getting in the way.”

Halsey clarifying her relationships status comes after she opened up about how “terrified” she was when she became seriously ill shortly after becoming a mother.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda declares band is enjoying ‘new chapter’

OHMYGOSSIP — Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda says the band is enjoying a “new chapter”.
The group’s founder spoke out as the group kicked off its ‘From Zero World Tour’ at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with new lead singer Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara fronting the band seven years after Chester Bennington died by suicide in 2017.
Mike, 47, took a moment during the show to ask the crowd whether or not they had attended a Linkin Park concert before, with first-time audience members cheering.
He then said in a video captured by fans and shared online: “I mean, that’s part of why we’re back out here. We are thrilled to be back out here.”
“It is not about erasing the past. It is about starting this new chapter into the future and coming out here for each and every one of you.”
“We love playing for you guys, we love writing this music – we’re very f****** excited about the new record.
“So thank you guys very much – we’ve had an incredible night with you. Hopefully we’ll see you soon.”

Tragic Chester Bennington struggled with depression and substance abuse for most of his life, starting in his childhood.
He was found dead on 20 July, 2017, at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California, with the coroner concluding his death was a result of suicide.

Cristiano Ronaldo proud his kids are as competitive as he is

OHMYGOSSIP — Cristiano Ronaldo and his teenage son can go days without speaking because of their competitive natures.
The Portuguese soccer legend – who is dad to Cristiano Jr., 14, and seven-year-old twins Eva and Matteo via a surrogate, and Alana, six, and Bella, two, with partner Georgina Rodriguez – is proud that his kids are every bit as passionate and emotional as he is, and he won’t hold back against them when they are playing games together.
Speaking on the ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ podcast, he said: “I was in the Red Sea a couple of days ago, I play every day padel. Me and Cristiano Jr get mad, we don’t speak for like two days.
“This is why I’m happy, even the small one Matteo [gets competitive], I like it. It shows they have personality.
“Seriously, my kids, they are like me. I don’t teach them but they see by example because sometimes when I lose I get angry, sometimes I cry, depends on the moment.
“They are kind of the same, so even with my kids I compete, I always want to win. I don’t give nothing for free.”
Cristiano currently plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr and his eldest son is with their youth team, with the youngster having previously turned out for both Juventus and Manchester United’s academies while his dad was in the senior squads.
However, the 39-year-old striker isn’t putting too much pressure on the teenager to succeed.
He said: “This generation, it is difficult to tell them something and let them do it.
“They will always see their daddy as an example, they see me every day in what I do, at home, in training, or in a game. They see me work a lot.
“Right in this moment, Cristiano want to be a football player but I don’t make big pressure, I make a little.
“He’s 14 years old, he has pressure already to be the son of Cristiano [senior]. Let him do his own mistakes, but I hope that in the future he can be a professional player.
“If he doesn’t become a player, maybe another job, but I will always support him. We cannot put pressure on our sons because we are famous.”

She told The Hollywood Reporter about jetting between venues on her ‘My Life on the PTSD-List’ tour: “I joke that I’m losing money on this tour because of the jet.
“I know it’s spoiled, but it’s worth it.”
Kathy added her luxury travel choice lets her sleep with her “babies” – in an apparent reference to her four rescue dogs.
She also said it allows her to “avoid” Donald Trump supporters who “still feel the need to come up” to her at airports and tell her “how horrible” she is after she posted a mocked-up image of the former US president beheaded on social media.
Kathy was placed on the no-fly list for two months in 2017 while she was under a federal investigation by the Justice Department for posting a video of herself holding a mask styled to look like the bloodiedhead of then-president Trump, 78.
She apologised for the incident, but later said it was justified by Trump’s “unhinged” behaviour – adding in an interview with Australia’s ‘Sunrise’ show:
“I’m no longer sorry. The whole outrage was BS; the whole thing got so blown out of proportion.
“So the picture happened, the outrage was ridiculous, I made an apology, and now in light of all the crazy stuff that (Trump) and this administration are doing … he’s unhinged.”
Kathy said dealing with the fallout from the controversy cost her more than $1 million in legal fees, and said she fell into unemployment and became hooked on prescription pills – before she attempted to take her life.
She was dealt another blow in 2021 when she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021, forcing her to have one of her lungs removed.
Four months after the operation she declared she was cancer-free, but earlier this year she was hit with more health woes as she underwent a second vocal cord surgery in hopes of restoring her voice.

Halle Berry feeling ‘happier and stronger’ as she heads towards 60th birthday

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Berry feels “happier and stronger” than ever as she heads for 60.
The ‘Catwoman’ actress, 58, who has daughter Nahla, 16, and son Maceo, 10, from previous relationships, also gave fans a glimpse into her complex wellness and fitness regime – which includes red light therapy, daily workouts and cutting all sugar from her diet.
She told America’s Marie Claire: “Age is just a number that they stick on us at birth. I feel like I’m now at the pinnacle.”
Halle added her health regime includes a “cocktail of vitamins and supplements”, along with taking progesterone, testosterone and estriol.
She also has temperature therapy, using hot and cold treatments to reduce inflammation.
Halle – who has studied jiu jitsu, Muay Thai and Taekwondo for film roles –
added being diagnosed with diabetes in her early 20s and lapsing into a diabetic coma was a catalyst for her health obsessions.
She said about axing sugar from her diet: “Sugar is the enemy. You couldn’t put anything sweet in front of me right now and pay me to eat it. I’m just not interested.”
Halle also tackled ageism in Hollywood as part of her magazine chat, saying:
“As women, we get defined by [age] way more than men do and sometimes it can debilitate us. It can trick us into thinking what we’re supposed to do.
“We have to kick that in the face and say, ’No, I’m going to do what I can do as long as I feel good doing it!’ And that will be whatever I want it to be. I get to define that.”
Halle added she has “always known” she is “more than” her face and body, despite Hollywood’s fixation on glamour, saying: “So when (beauty) starts to go, maybe for the first time in my life, people will focus on the other aspects of me that I think are way more interesting.
“It’s an exciting time for a rebirth. It’s not the time to pack it up. It’s the time to ask, ’Now that I’m free, what can I do?’”
