Kelly Osbourne claims rehab centres fuel addiction for profit

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Osbourne claims a rogue sector of the rehab industry is fuelling the addiction crisis by encouraging users to relapse.
The 39-year-old TV star – daughter of Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne – is a recovering addict and has endured numerous stints in rehab over the years and she has now admitted she learnt “tricks” to hide her addictions during her time in facilities and she alleges some use “body brokers” to target recovery meetings and encourage relapses to get people back into the programs.
During an appearance in ‘TMZ Investigates Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring’, Kelly explained: “Body brokers. They’ll sit outside of AA meetings and looking for weak and vulnerable people that they encourage to go and relapse so they can then pick you up again … I swear on everything that it’s true and it’s heartbreaking. ”
She also spoke about her own time in rehab, admitting it taught her to be a “better drug addict” and she also claimed to have seen rehab staff giving drugs to users to stop them from leaving.
She explained: “First rehab I went to was like university on how to be a better drug addict … I learnt so many tricks so many things that I never even thought of from my fellow addicts that were in there.
“But I’d also seen people threaten to leave unless they were given what they wanted. Whether it be Ambien for sleep or Valium for nerves, they would somehow end up getting it … and they end up giving them whatever it is they’ve asked for [to make them stay].”
The documentary focuses on the case of late ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry, who died last year after suffering a drug overdose after years of battling addiction issues.
Perry’s assistant Kenny Iwamasa and four other people – including two doctors – have been arrested and charged in connection with supplying the drugs that killed the actor.

Jennifer Aniston sometimes wonders how she handles all the ‘ bull****”‘ in Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Aniston wonders how she handles all the “bull****” in Hollywood.
The 55-year-old actress has enjoyed great success since she shot to fame as Rachel Green in ‘Friends’ almost exactly 30 years ago and currently stars opposite Reese Witherspoon as a co-host of a breakfast television programme on ‘The Morning Show’ but was asked what her fictional counterpart might ask her in an interview.
In response, she told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “How do you handle all the bull****? What would I say to her? Oh God, that’s weird. That’s too meta for me! I’m just trying to keep it together!”
The ‘Marley and Me’ star had been nominated for her role as Alex Levy in the hit Apple+ series and eventually lost out to Anna Sawai from ‘Shogun’ but insisted just ahead of the ceremony that winning is never a priority for her.
She said: “I don’t go ‘Oh God, I hope I win’. I feel like I’ve already won. I really have.”
In terms of her outfit for the Emmys, Jennifer opted for a sparking silver dress and joked that she had been “held together” with everything she has in order to pull the whole look off.
She said: “I’m held together with every inch of my life. It’s Oscar de la Renta, it’s simple and it’s beautiful. ”
Earlier this year, Jennifer admitted that she “never imagined” the sheer success of ‘Friends’ when she initially signed up to star alongside Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and the late Matthew Perry – who died in October 2023 at the age of 54 – in the classic sitcom.
Speaking during an interview with ‘Abbott Elementary’ star Quinta Brunson for Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors’ series, she said: “The fact that it’s had this long, wonderful life and it still means a lot to people is one of the greatest gifts I think all five of us — all six of us — we never could imagine.
“And we see each other. I talked on FaceTime with Courtrney last night for an hour, and Lisa and the boys, and we just have a really — it’s a family forever.”

Anna Kendrick reveals her struggles with domestic life: ‘I don’t know how to cook…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Kendrick “doesn’t know how” to cook.
The 39-year-old actress admitted that while she is a “homebody” whenever she is not working, she has no skills in the kitchen and joked that she cannot really do anything domestic.
She told People: “I’m kind of a homebody. Either I’m out and working or I want to be a homebody. I don’t cook. I don’t know how to. I really just don’t know how to do anything useful in life.”
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star also noted that it should not come as a shock to any of her fans that she is “lazy” and enjoys the convenience of using an iced coffee maker when she is at home.
She said: “It’s not a surprise to anybody that I’m kind of a lazy bones, and so just convenience and ease is everything. [My coffee maker] is perfect because it’s so fast and, frankly, I get to stay in my house. I would definitely go out and get coffee or even order it in, so the fact that it’s just kind of foolproof is perfect.”
The ‘Into the Woods’ star is currently thought to be single and has previously opened up about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of a former boyfriend, whom she did not name.
She said about immediately connecting with the script for her movie ‘Alice, Darling’: “I was coming out of a personal experience with emotional abuse and psychological abuse.
“I think my rep sent (the script) to me, because he knew what I’d been dealing with and sent it along. Because he was like, ‘This sort of speaks to everything that you’ve been talking to me about’.
“It felt really distinct in that I had, frankly, seen a lot of movies about abusive or toxic relationships, and it didn’t really look like what was happening to me.
“It kind of helped me normalize and minimize what was happening to me, because I thought, ‘Well, if I was in an abusive relationship, it would look like that’.”

William, Prince of Wales avoided card games with ‘ruthless’ Middleton family

OHMYGOSSIP — William, Prince of Wales tried his best to playing cards with the “ruthless” Middleton family.
The heir to the throne has spent a lot of time with his in-laws over the years since he started dating his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales and now her brother James Middleton has revealed William always attempted to get out of family card games because the Middletons are always determined to “to win at all costs”.
In his book ‘Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life’, published in the Daily Mail, James wrote: “William would flinch at our ruthless determination to win at all costs. He’d be delighted to be the first out, and when no longer compelled to take part, he’d slink off to cuddle [my dog] Ella.
“Better still, he’d absent himself from the game entirely. ‘James, does Ella need a walk?’ he’d ask before we’d even started dealing the cards.
“My sisters and I would exchange a knowing glance. William, for all the competitive rigour of his military training, was happy to be a loser at cards.”
In the book, James opens up about his mental health struggles and credits his dog Ella with helping him through some dark moments.
He revealed he pushed his loved ones – including his sisters Catherine and Pippa – away when he was at his lowest.
James wrote: “I contemplate ways of dying so I can get off the giddy roller-coaster that is sending me to the brink of madness. I cannot sleep because my mind is in tumult.
“The insomnia is dizzying. I am utterly exhausted. I feel misunderstood; a complete failure. I wouldn’t wish the sense of worthlessness and desperation, the isolation and loneliness, on my worst enemy. I think I’m going crazy.
“Yet I know I am privileged; fortunate, too, to have a loving and close-knit family – Mum and Dad, my sisters Catherine and Pippa, their husbands William and James – but I push them all away.
“I do not answer their phone calls. Emails remain ignored. Invitations to visit go unheeded. I hide behind a double-locked door, unreachable.”
He then recalled that it was his beloved black spaniel who would save him time and time again.
James added: “I haul myself back from the brink, slowly climb down the ladder and stroke Ella’s silky head. She is the reason I do not take that fatal leap. She is Ella, the dog who saved my life.”

In his column for OK! magazine, he wrote: “My parents marked their 69th wedding anniversary recently, which is amazing. Their relationship is so inspiring, their love has always been something I’ve looked up to. I’m praying they make it safely to their 70th anniversary next year.
“It’s really tough to see your parents get old or sick, but I’m also so grateful as I know how lucky I am to still have parents around. A lot of people don’t have that. I will be going to Australia to see them soon.”
Peter stayed in the UK with Emily and their new daughter Arabella after her birth in April while his two eldest kids – Junior, 19, and Princess, 17 – flew Down Under to visit Thea while she was unwell.
He previously paid tribute to the teens for rushing to see their new baby sister and then getting on a plane to go visit their grandparents.

The fact that you drove to Somerset to be with us hours before and the days that followed to see the arrival of your baby sister, AND THEN to get on a plane and travel 12,000 miles to be with your grandmother in a very difficult time for her shows me what beautiful children you are.
“I will never forget this moment. Thank you for being truly amazing. Love you all so much. Keep cuddling mum for me please and tell her I love her and we will come out soon.”
The ‘Mysterious Girl’ singer previous revealed he was struggling to “come to terms” with his mum’s health troubles. In a column for OK!, he wrote: “Although I thank God my parents are still here, I am seeing the rapid decline, especially in Mum. I find that part hard to deal with.

Dolly Parton admits she learned to cook ‘out of necessity’ as she looks back on childhood in poverty

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton learned to cook “out of necessity”.
The 78-year-old country music legend grew up in poverty as the ninth of 11 children in rural Tennessee and recalled that whenever her mother was ill or pregnant that she and the others had to step up to the plate and take on the culinary responsibilities.
She told People: “We’d have to climb up on the chairs to peel potatoes, turnips or whatever. We were really helping out when Mama was not well, or in bed with a kid or having a new baby or whatever… so my first [lesson] came out of just really being a necessity of us helping mom as the older girls.
“My mama probably just wanted me out of the way, so she pulled up a chair and had all the things and she had it in a bowl.
“And she said, ‘Here, you get to make cornbread tonight.’ So I was working hard at making that cornbread.”
The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker – who has included more than 80 recipes in her new cookbook ‘Good Lookin’ Cookin’ -explained that mealtimes were imperative to the family when she was growing up, although admitted that she probably wouldn’t sample some of the dishes she was brought up on nowadays.
She said: “When we were growing up, it was a must that we all kind of be around the table after Daddy got home from work. It was just a thing that we had in our house to sit around the table and talk, and eat with a mouthful.
“Mama used to make a groundhog. That was Daddy’s favorite thing. A groundhog is just like a big fat hog that runs around in the woods. But mama used to call them whistle pigs because they were that much like a pig. It tastes very much like a pig, but I wouldn’t want to eat one now.”

“I’m like, ‘No, stop! It’s too much!’ It’s crazy. It’s amazing. I love it!”

Speaking on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, she said: “It was really, really strange. It was such an adjustment because it sort of came out and we heard all these numbers, 82 million people in month one and I couldn’t compute that. Kerry Katona reveals why she is so ‘f***** up’ when it comes to body image

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has ended up with body image issues after years of being told she “wasn’t good enough”.
The 43-year-old star shot to fame as a member of Atomic Kitten in the late 1990s but reflected that it was such a “different time” in those days and after supermodel Kate Moss recently explained how she received backlash over her own natural figure, Kerry admitted that she felt as if she had to have cosmetic surgery because of how she was treated.
Writing in her OK! Magazine column, she said: “Model Kate Moss recently opened up about how she used to get verbal abuse for being so slim and how parents of anorexic children would blame her. I don’t think that’s right at all. Kate is naturally really slim and didn’t deserve that, but some people just need ways of dealing with things and to blame someone, unfortunately.
“It was such a different time back then. That’s why people like me have ended up so f***** up with surgery, because we were constantly told we weren’t good enough. People would point out any flaws and it makes you think you need to keep changing yourself.”
The ‘Whole Again’ singer recently admitted that she had had some Botox on her forehead, fillers put into her cheeks and had her lips plumped to make them look thicker.
Kerry has also previously undergone operations including a facelift, eyelid surgery and a boob job.
In July, she revealed that she was planning to undergo a chin lift after feeling self-concsious about the lower part of her face.
She said: “I’ve been under the knife a few times myself for the odd nip and tuck, and I think the next thing on my list will be my chin.
“I’m at an age where the skin is beginning to sag and I’d like to get it done to make myself feel better – but not for anyone else. It doesn’t matter what other people think, as long as you’re happy, and being safe, that’s all that matters.”

Chappell Roan: I’m scrambling to try to feel healthy

OHMYGOSSIP — Chappell Roan is “scrambling to try to feel healthy”.
The 26-year-old star is determined to achieve long-term success – but Chappell is struggling to cope with the demands of the music industry.
The ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ hitmaker told The Face magazine: “I feel ambitious about making this sustainable. That’s my biggest goal right now. My brain is like: quit right now, take next year off.
“This industry and artistry f****** thrive on mental illness, burnout, overworking yourself, overextending yourself, not sleeping. You get bigger the more unhealthy you are. Isn’t that so f***** up?
“The ambition is: how do I not hate myself, my job, my life, and do this? Because right now, it’s not working. I’m just scrambling to try to feel healthy.”
Chappell has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years. But she noted that fame and success comes at a price.
Recalling a recent encounter at an airport, Chappell shared: “I get out of the car, it’s 5.30 in the morning, and there’s two guys waiting with a bunch of posters and s*** for me to sign.
“I know they’re not fans. I said no. I was like, ‘I don’t sign anything at the airport, I’m sorry.’ [One of them] follows me to the TSA line, starts yelling at me and everyone just turns and looks. He’s like: ‘You should really humble yourself. Do you know where you are right now? Don’t forget where you came from.’ I’m just like: ‘What the f*** is going on?’
“I told myself, if this ever gets dangerous, I might quit. It’s dangerous now, and I’m still going. But that part is not what I signed up for.”

Ryan Reynolds expresses interest in buying Welsh cricket franchise

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds has expressed an interest in buying a Welsh cricket team.
The 47-year-old actor and his showbiz pal Rob McElhenney have “made contact” over the possibility of buying a stake in Welsh Fire, a Cardiff-based cricket franchise.
Dan Cherry – the chief executive of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, which has strong links to the franchise – told the BBC: “It is a feasible option. Contact’s been made.
“There’s not been anything substantial come back yet, but we’re in the process and I know that they’ll certainly be included in any process that we’ve got going forward.
“All bids and offers that are going to come in are going to be interesting to us, and we’re going to have to evaluate what the best bid is for us.”
Ryan and Rob, 47, became the co-chairman of Wrexham A.F.C. back in 2020, and since then, they’ve managed to achieve back-to-back promotions with the Welsh soccer team.
And now, the Hollywood duo could soon become the co-owners of another Welsh sports team.
Dan added: “There’s obvious interest in what Ryan Reynolds and the guys have done at Wrexham, which has been fantastic for football in north Wales.
“That doesn’t necessarily mean to say that it’ll be the right option for us, but if they’re interested in talking to us, obviously it’s an exciting proposition.”
Meanwhile, Ryan previously described his ownership of Wrexham as “the greatest experience” of his life.
Speaking to the BBC in 2023, Ryan shared: “This adventure has been unlike anything else.
“I love it because it’s a project that’s going to be multi-decades.
“I met a supporter the other day whose grandfather’s ashes were scattered across the pitch. I look at this place as like a church.”

Ishaan Khatter ‘didn’t worry about being objectified’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ishaan Khatter didn’t mind being “objectified” in ‘The Perfect Couple’.
The 28-year-old actor stars alongside Nicole Kidman in the murder mystery show, and Ishaan has now revealed that he relished the opportunity to work with the Oscar-winning actress, describing the decision to accept the role as a “no-brainer”.
The actor – who was born in Mumbai, India – told the BBC Asian Network: “The most exciting thing about it, the most reassuring thing about it, was the way the character was written and the fact that it didn’t feel like a token diversity character.”
Ishaan also had no qualms with the way in which his character was portrayed.
He said: “Yes, I was objectified. It was one of the things that made the character unique and appealing to me.
“It makes it kind of a moment in history in that sense. I just thought it was a cool character in general and it was fun to play into that.”
What’s more, Ishaan hopes to see more south Asian actors being given opportunities in Western film and TV productions.
He said: “As an audience I would be saying: ‘Hell yeah, this is what we should be doing more of.’
“I understand the sacredness of being put in a position where you’re representing on a global scale.
“I’m so happy to be in this position and to be able to be a part of something that is a stepping stone.”
The show was filmed in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Ishaan actually suffered from homesickness during the shoot.
However, the actor was able to lean on his co-stars amid his troubles.
He confessed: “We only had each other’s company.
“Being able to hang out, do activities like axe-throwing or whale-watching. It definitely helped with the homesickness.”

The 26-year-old singer captured her first ever moonman statue for best new artist at the ceremony in New York on Wednesday (11.09.24) and she took out her diary on stage to read something she had prepared.
She said: “Can you believe it? We’re at the VMAs! I’m gonna read from — I wrote a speech — from my diary.
“Thank you, MTV and Island Records and my team and my family and friends.
“I dedicate this to all the drag artists who inspire me, who inspire me, and I dedicate this to queer and trans people that fuel pop, to the gays who dedicate my songs to someone they love or hate.
“And thank you to the people who are fans, who listen to me, who hear me when I share my joy and my fears.
“Thank you for listening. And for all the queer kids in the Midwest watching right now, I see you, I understand you, because I’m one of you, and don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t be exactly who you wanna be, b****.”
The ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ hitmaker – whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz – has previously described her stage name as her drag persona, and has said she identifies as lesbian.
She was raised in a household with traditional Christian values and still feels “uncomfortable” about her sexuality sometimes, but admitted that it took her mother and father “a lot of unlearning” when she came out to them.
She told Rolling Stone: “It took a lot of unlearning, and there’s still things I’m still confused about, and [it’s] why I feel so uncomfortable being gay sometimes.
“I don’t get why this is such an issue for me. It shouldn’t be, but something’s just going on and I need to just accept that.”
She also noted she was “scared of flamboyantly gay people” because of her religious upbringing, and while she has spent a long time trying to get away from that mindset, she still has moments of confusion.
She explained: “It took a lot of unlearning, and there’s still things I’m still confused about, and [it’s] why I feel so uncomfortable being gay sometimes.
“I don’t get why this is such an issue for me. It shouldn’t be, but something’s just going on and I need to just accept that.”

Sir Ian McKellen reveals timeframe for return to stage after horror fall

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ian McKellen won’t return to the stage “for another year”.
The 85-year-old star is still recovering after a nasty fall from the stage during a performance of ‘Player Kings’ at London’s Noel Coward Theatre earlier this year, and the legendary actor won’t be rushing his return.
Asked how he’ll know when the time is right, he told Simon Mayo on the ‘Greatest Hits Radio Drivetime Show’: “That’s a good point – I think I’ll know because the contract says I have to turn up at a particular time!
“I’m not proposing to work on stage for another year and I think by then this will all be alright.”
The ‘Lord of the Rings’ icon admitted the focus of his recovery is from “a mental disturbance” rather than the physical side.
Sir Ian was wearing a fat suit at the time when his foot got caught in a chair during a battle scene, and as he shook it loose, he slipped on a newspaper scattered on the stage.
He suffered a chipped vertebra and a fractured wrist, bue he thought it was worse in the moment.
He explained: “What I’ve been left with is not so much a physical injury, but a mental disturbance because I thought it was much more serious at the time that it was.
“I think I thought I was about to die, I thought I’d broken my neck I’d forgotten but apparently, I’d said, ‘I’ve broken my neck, I am dying’ and if I said it, I must have thought that I was.
“And I’ve just got to deal with that. I’m not dying, not just yet and I hope I’ll get back to acting again on stage.”
Sir Ian recently opened up on the fall, which saw him land on a member of the audience in the front row.
Chuckling, he told ITV’s ‘This Morning’: “I don’t remember exactly what happened.
“I finally found out who she was, and so I’ve been in contact with her. But I hope she’s alright!”

Josh Brolin’s 99-year-old grandma inspired his sobriety

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Brolin’s 99-year-old grandmother inspired him to get sober.
The 56-year-old actor recalled how he “woke up on the sidewalk” for the “400th time” in his life and remembered he was supposed to be going to visit his dying relative, and it was seeing her smile when he walked into the room that made him realise he needed to turn his life around.
Speaking to Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson on the ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’ podcast, he said: “That last night that I drank, there was a hit and run at Del Taco. There was that.
“I woke up on the sidewalk. I didn’t know where my car was. And it wasn’t that that was rare. It was the 400th time that had happened. It was so normal when I woke up.
“But my grandmother was on her deathbed. I was supposed to have picked up my brother and taken them because I was the one in the family that put everything together and structured everything and controlled everything. Anyway, I woke up on the sidewalk, went inside.
“My brother called me, Where are you? Picked him up, walked into that hospital eventually, and my grandmother, who was 99 at the time, picked her head up.
“Everybody knew when I walked into the room, picked her head up and looked at me and smiled, and that was it. I was done. I said, If this woman could get through 99 years on her on life’s terms, how dare me?”
The ‘No Country For Old Men’ actor admitted he had “gotten away with a lot” until that point.
He continued: “I said, How dare me? I’d gotten away. I was 45 years old, and I had gotten away with a lot. Been in jail nine times, done a little bit of whatever.
“So I thought, I wonder if I could do that half of life like that and then do this half of life like this. Then I get to live two lives and not just one.”
And Josh – who has Trevor, 36, and Eden, 30, with first wife Alice Adair and Westlyn, five, and three-year-old Chapel with spouse Kathryn Boyd – insisted he doesn’t have any urge to drink any more because he enjoys his life so much.
Asked if he’s ever tempted, he said: “I feel like something’s been cultivated in me that I helped cultivate that my life now is better than my greatest romance of any drink I could have.
“I actually like my life. Not that I didn’t before because I loved it before, except when I would write indecypherable texts. I didn’t like that.”
