Janet Jackson’s ‘disappointing’ marriages

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson’s marriages are her biggest “disappointment”.
The 58-year-old singer eloped with James DeBarge in September 1984 but had their union annulled 14 months later before going on to secretly wed Rene Elizondo Jr. in 1991 and then Wissam Al Mana – the father of her seven-year-old son Eissa – in 2012, but she’s admitted none of the unions turned out as she’d hoped, particularly her third.
Asked her biggest disappointment, Janet – who split from Wissam just months after their son was born in 2017 – told The Guardian newspaper’s Saturday magazine: “Every one of my marriages.”
But she then later corrected herself and clarified: “Just the last one”.
The ‘Together Again’ hitmaker has previously spoken about being in controlling relationships and she hopes she will finally be able to “break that pattern” if she finds love again.
She said: “I pray to God. I’m single, so I pray to God that I might have different lenses on these eyes than I did before.
“I know that if someone were to come along … even if I didn’t recognise it, I guarantee you my friends would shake the s*** out of me and say, ‘What are you doing?!’
“But I think I’m seeing it through different lenses now. I think I am breaking that pattern.”
Janet was just nine years old when she made her TV debut, performing a duet with her brother Randy on ‘The Carol Burnett Show’, and she’s determined her own son’s childhood will be different.
Asked how their childhoods compare, she said: “Completely different, because I worked and he doesn’t. And that’s it.
“I want him to experience being a child, because you don’t get to do this over. You’re an adult for the rest of your life, so I want him to enjoy each and every minute of being a child.
“Don’t you think you’ve learned from your parents? There are some things you wish your parents had done differently and you say, ‘No, I’m gonna tell [my son] this.’ Because if they had done this with me, it would have been much better for me as a child.
“I hated it as a kid, but I’m thankful for it now. I have to give credit to my parents for keeping me grounded.”

Darius Rucker sentenced to probation

OHMYGOSSIP — Darius Rucker will be put on probation after pleading no contest to a drugs charge.
The 58-year-old country star was booked earlier this year on three misdemeanour charges – two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of a violation of vehicle registration law – in relation to a 2023 traffic stop and on 10 September, he entered a plea of no contest to one simple possession charge.
By pleading no contest, Darius waived his right to a trial in Tennessee and will accept a sentence of 11 months and 29 days of probation, with the charges expunged if he completes the period, Penn Live reported.
And the Hootie + the Blowfish frontman is now ready to move on with his life.
His attorneys told WKRN in a statement: “On behalf of Darius, we want to thank the Honorable Judge Tom Taylor, and the District Attorney’s office for the time and care taken in considering the details of this case and its final disposition.
“In addition, we want to thank and commend the members of the Franklin Police Department and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department for the respectful and professional manner in which they treated Darius during this process.
“Darius looks forward to working through this probationary period and putting this all behind him.”
The district attorney had said in court he recommended one count of simple possession and the expired registration because of the ‘Wagon Wheel’ hitmaker’s “good character”.
Darius previously admitted he was “shocked” when he learned a warrant was issued for his arrest, so long after he was originally stopped by cops.
He told People magazine: “I mean, I looked back at that and I was like, ‘I got stopped by a police officer and I had a little bit of pot, and I think a little bit of some mushrooms or something in the car, and he let me go.’
“And a year later I got a phone call from a buddy that said” ‘I think I just saw an arrest warrant for you.’ It shocked me.
“My friends who were in the police department were like, ‘Have you p***** somebody off up here? Because this is crazy that they’re doing this a year later’. ”

Demi Moore’s parents let her drive at 13

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore’s parents used to let her drive when she was just 13 years old.
The 61-year-old actress hit out at the “lunacy” of her mom and dad for giving her the freedom to get out on the roads without a license – and in return had her promise to lie to cops and say she had stolen their car if she ever got caught.
Speaking on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she said: “Driving on the freeway, I mean, my parents would say, ‘Okay, here’s the deal. You can take the car. If you get stopped, you just have to say you took the car without permission.’ And they kind of saw that is a win-win for everybody, but that is lunacy.”
Demi shared the anecdote as she and the host bonded over the ways they “were both more the parent to our parents.”
The ‘Ghost’ actress – who has daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with ex-husband Bruce Willis – recently admitted she doesn’t volunteer advice to her eldest child, who is mom to 17-month-old Louetta.
Appearing on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, she said of Rumer: “You know what I have learned? Is that you do not give advice unless you are asked, in general.
“First of all, she is a wonderful mother, and I am so proud of her.
“She is really incredible. And if I am asked, I am happy to share my experience, strength and hope. But if I am not, it is better that I just keep my mouth shut.”
Demi insisted that even if her views are right, it doesn’t mean her daughter is “wrong” with the decisions she makes.
She continued: “As a parent, you have to give your children, I think, the dignity of their own process.
“Sometimes they need to find their own way, even if I’m right, and often I am… but it doesn’t make her wrong.
“Recognising that we are just the managers, we don’t own. We just need to step back… for me I feel like my job is just to love my children and to give them the room to be who they are.”

Angelina Jolie and daughter Vivienne get matching tattoos

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne have matching tattoos.
The ‘Maleficent’ actress, 49, and the 16-year-old, got the same inking after they worked together on ‘The Outsiders’ Broadway show in tribute to one of the mother-of-six’s lines in the production.
She told CR Fashion Book: “I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with ‘The Outsiders’. It means so much to us separately and together.”
Angelina, who has five other children with her estranged ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60, added she also shares a bird tattoo with some of her other kids, which she says they have for “personal” reasons.
Recent photos have shown Angelina has ‘Stay Gold’ inked in red on her inner arm, but it is unclear is Vivienne has her version of the tattoo in the same spot.
Angelina produced ‘The Outsiders’, which is based on S E Hinton’s 1967 book of the same name, and hired the teen as her assistant for the show.
She said about the decision: “Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the centre of attention but in being a support to other creatives.
“She’s very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute.”
Angelina also has children Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne’s twin Knox, 16, with Brad.
She showed off another new tattoo of a bird she has on her chest at the 2024 Tony Awards in June.
It featured a black outline of a swallow, which is said to represent loyalty and the love of home due to the species’ migration habits.
Angelina is still battling Brad over her sale of her chunk of their French vineyard.
Her actor father Jon Voight, 85, recently said he wishes the pair’s divorce battles would “be over”.
The ‘Midnight Cowboy’ actor told Fox News Digital: “I wish that would be over. It’s tough. I wish they found a way to make peace.”
Jon added he is worried about how the warring couple’s legal woes has affected his grandchildren, adding: “I think that the kids need some stability. I love the kids and I love my daughter, and I want Brad to step up, too (and do) what he has to do (and) end this nonsense.”

Sophie Turner ‘swept away’ by emotion as she shot new crime series

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner was “swept away” by emotion as she shot a crime series in the wake of her divorce from Joe Jonas.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress, 28, was reported on 11 September to have legally finalised her split from her estranged singer husband Joe, 35, and soon after started work making ‘Joan’ for ITV – which shows her playing real-life Joan ‘The Godmother’ Hannington, now 68, who went from a housewife to crime boss.
She said during a press conference to launch the show about how she had no problems crying for the camera while making it: “I’m a Pisces, I’m emotional. And I’m a mother, so anything to do with children and it just flows out.
“I think sometimes when you are doing a show like this and there’s diamonds and glamour, you get swept away by it all.
“You have to remember that this is to provide a solid and stable life for her daughter so she can get her back. And it’s really a heartbreaking story.”
Sophie, who married Joe in 2019, had her divorce proceedings delayed by their custody battle over their two children – daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two.
She has now moved on and has taken her relationship with her new boyfriend, 29-year-old aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, ‘Instagram official’.
The six-part ‘Joan’ charts the titular character’s rise from ordinary housewife and mother to petty offender – then diamond thief and criminal mastermind in the underbelly of 1980s London.
It also charts Joan’s escape from her violent husband, which involves her putting her daughter in care as she got her life together.
Sophie added about the character: “She is so funny but she has gone through so much trauma and is so ambitious.
“There really is so much to her – mother, lover, liar, thief. It’s just remarkable that it’s all a true story.”

The ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ actress, 32, recently said she was planning to adopt a baby before she met her music producer boyfriend Benny Blanco, 36, who she has been dating since 2023 – but then revealed she has had to come to terms with the fact she won’t be able to become a mother naturally due to medical reasons.
She said at a Women in Film event which she attended alongside her 11-year-old sister Gracie Elliott Teefey: “I truly believe that there is power in being vulnerable and telling people when you need help, when you want help.
“That is not shameful. So yeah, I shared that I can’t carry a child. Yeah, I shared I have bipolar – f*** off. That’s what my life is like.”
Selena added she wants to “advocate for women”, and that’s why she shares her pain.
She said: “That’s why I like to be honest – because everybody’s going through something.
“I don’t have it all together. I’m me. And that’s all I can be.
“So do not ever let anyone tell you that you are not a good person, that you aren’t kind, that you won’t treat people with respect.
“’Cause that is not lame, that is so cool of you guys.
“And that is the fact. So, screw anyone who tells you you’re a victim. You’re a survivor in my book.”
Selena revealed in Vanity Fair’s October issue that she is unable to carry her own children saying: “I haven’t ever said this… but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.

Michael Imperioli was offered mafia hitman lesson while working on ‘The Sopranos’

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Imperioli was offered a mafia hitman lesson while working on ‘The Sopranos’
The 58-year-old ‘Goodfellas’ actor rose to global fame playing New Jersey gangster Christopher Moltisanti in all six series of HBO’s pioneering mafia drama and said he got the dramatic offer while having a meal with his co-star Tony Sirico, 79, who was a real-life mobster before getting into acting.
Michael told The Daily Telegraph a man came to their table at the New York hotspot and said he could show him the “correct way” to strangle a victim using piano wire.
The actor added about politely declining the offer: “I told him, maybe after dessert might be a better time.”
When asked if he ever took the lesson, he said: “It remained unfulfilled, but it’s easily imagined.”
Michael’s mafia boss uncle Tony Soprano, played the late James Gandolfini, is seen strangling a “snitch” on the show with wire, while Michael’s character Christopher guns down a series of victims during the series.
The Emmy-winning actor, who is also the guitarist in the indie band Zopa and a novelist, is now narrating the three-part Sky documentary ‘American Godfathers: The Five Families’ about the history of the mafia.
Michael, who researched the mob for his role in 1990 gangster classic ‘Goodfellas’ said there is barely any links between his family and the mob, but said he still identifies with the stories of gangsters.
He added: “I don’t have a lot of first-hand experience in my family. But ‘The Godfather’, to some degree, was a somewhat romanticised version of these stories.
“People really felt with Don Corleone – who broke the law, was a criminal and a murderer – that there was some kind of moral code and honour to this character.”

“Your life completely changes. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
Janet also said she was bringing her boy up completely differently that she was, after she was thrust into fame aged eight when she appeared on ‘The Carol Burnett Show’ with her singer brothers.
She says she and her son’s childhoods are already “completely different” as she worked and he hasn’t.
Janet went on: “I want him to experience being a child, because you don’t get to do this over.
“You’re an adult for the rest of your life, so I want him to enjoy each and every minute of being a child.”

She says she’s aware as a mother of “some things you wish your parents had done differently”, adding: “Because if they had done this with me, it would have been much better for me as a child.”

“Your life is for another. It’s a beautiful feeling.”
Her remarks come as she and Brad continue to battle for custody of their children – and about her sale of her chunk of the French vineyard where they got married in 2014.
She has previously told WSJ. Magazine about her huge bond with her kids:
“They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends.
“We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.”

Angelina said the training was an “emotional” experience and was like “therapy” she didn’t realize she needed.
She added: “I had no idea how much I was holding in and not letting out. So, the challenge wasn’t the technical, it was an emotional experience to find my voice, to be in my body, to express.

Oasis ‘at centre of streaming giants’ bidding war for reunion tour film’

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis are reportedly at the centre of a streaming giants’ bidding war to bag the rights to a documentary on their reunion tour.
The band’s Gallagher brothers frontmen Noel, 57, and Liam 52, are already set to make £400 million from putting their 15-year feud aside to launch a string of stadium gigs next year across the UK and Ireland.
A source has now told The Sun on Sunday about how Apple TV+ bosses are battling to sign them up for a big-money documentary about their reunion: “This is set to be the film of the decade, with Apple TV+ proposing huge money to bag the rights to this documentary.
“They are facing competition from other streamers such as Amazon Prime and Netflix but Apple have thrown all their weight behind this one.
“Fans can expect it to be in the same style as the Beatles documentary (2021’s ‘Get Back’ from Disney+) which gave a never-before-seen insight into the band.”
The Oasis comeback gigs will kick off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in July, and they are expected to also announce a string of US dates to extend the tour.
Liam and Noel are also said to have struck a multi-million pound deal to take up to 50 per cent of the food and drink sold at their comeback shows.
The reunited brothers are also said to have lined up brand and merchandise tie-ins worth at least £50 million.
A source has told The Sun about the apparent food and drinks deal: “It is not uncommon for top acts to get half of the bar and food take.
“After all, they are the ones who got the punters into the venues in the first place. And Oasis will bring along some very thirsty fans.”
Another source has told The Sun on Sunday about how Liam and Noel are apparently set make another £50 million in extra side-deals from their reunion tour: “It’s taken 15 years to get the warring brothers back together.
“There is every chance this could be their last hurrah, so everything’s getting monetised and they want to strike while the iron is hot.
“Marketing and advertising teams aren’t missing a trick. They are capitalising their comeback and everything has pound signs attached.”

Tia Mowry has grown apart from her twin sister Tamara: ‘I wish we were still close…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tia Mowry and her sister Tamara have grown apart in recent years.
The 46-year-old actress first found fame alongside her twin sister in the hit 1990s sitcom ‘Sister, Sister’ but following her split from Cory Hardrict – with whom she has Cree, 13, and six-year-old daughter Cairo – in 2023, she has revealed that she just wants to be able to speak to her former co-star amid the loneliness of divorce.
Speaking in a clip from her upcoming WE TV series ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’, she said: “I came into this world with a twin and right after that, I went into a 22-year relationship so I have never been alone in my life. It has been quite a journey. Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce.
“It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her.
“But that’s just not where we are right now.”
However, an insider explained that the former Nickelodeon star was actually just talking about the logistics of where she and her sister are both living at the moment, as they played down any notion of a feud between the pair.
The source told People: “The sisters are still close, but the quote being referenced was about the lack of proximity in their physical location — Tamera lives in Napa and Tia lives in Los Angeles.”
Meanwhile, Tia recently reminded her followers that a divorce is never a “one-size-fits-all” situation.
Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, she said: “Recovering from a divorce feels like a whirlwind journey. I found out through the process that divorce isn’t a place where we arrive, it’s entering a new chapter in life with many nuances, and no one-size-fits-all handbook. It’s a side of divorce that isn’t often discussed, especially when there are kids involved.”

Patrick is set to star in the third series of ‘The White Lotus’, and added when asked by People how the plans for his and Abby’s big day are progressing: “Slowly but surely. I was gone the last seven months in Thailand (filming ‘The White Lotus’) so we really didn’t do anything.”

Patrick recently told GQ about his part in the wedding plans: “As I’ve learned, the role is just to make sure that she’s happy, just whatever she wants to do.
