OHMYGOSSIP — Nikita Kuzmin will miss a “portion” of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ live tour after he tested positive for coronavirus.
The 24-year-old professional dancer is partnered with Tilly Ramsay, but he is now unable to make the early dates of the run, which kicked off in Birmingham on Thursday (20.01.22).
He wrote on Instagram: “So sad to be missing a portion of the Strictly Live Tour, but unfortunately I tested Positive for COVID-19.
Lots of luck to all the amazing Strictly Cast
Will be back as soon as I can 🙂 (sic)”
Several stars sent him well wishes, including fellow ‘Strictly’ pro Dianne Buswell.
She wrote: “sorry to hear xx (sic)”
Former ‘Strictly’ contestant and ‘EastEnders’ actress Maisie Smith, who was drafted onto the tour earlier this month after TV presenter AJ Odudu was forced to pull out through injury, commented: “Actually so out of order tbh (sic)”
AJ had to withdraw from the BBC Latin and ballroom show’s final last month after she suffered ankle ligament damage during training with her professional partner Kai Widdrington, and the injury has put paid to her taking part in the run of live shows this year.
She recently wrote on Instagram: “Following medical advice, sadly I’ve had to withdraw from the @strictlycomedancinglive due to injury.
“I had hoped for one last dance with @kaiwidd & we were both so looking forward to finally showing you our (unseen) show dance, but it turns out I can’t go straight from wearing a medical moonboot to performing in 37 shows in 3 inch heels. Who knew?!
“The good news is, Kai and the rest of my Strictly fam will be setting the stage on fire and and I can’t wait to go cheer them all on. (sic)”
Maisie, who now partners Kai, wished AJ a “speedy recovery”, and admitted she was delighted to be dancing again.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be asked to restart my ‘Strictly’ journey on this year’s arena tour.
“Kai and I will be dancing the quickstep and the samba – I can’t wait for rehearsals to start next week. It will be a joy to dance with everyone and so great to see my ‘EastEnders’ friend Rose again. I wish AJ a speedy recovery.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon will become the first Best Actress Oscar winner to take to the ‘CBeebies Bedtime Stories’ seat.
The 45-year-old actress will read ‘Extraordinary’, which was written by Penny Harrison and illustrated by Katie Wilson, on the episode.
Opening the story, Reese says: “Sometimes, when we’re busy, it can be hard to find time to notice the world around us.
“The things we see every day can seem a bit… ordinary. But if you stop, and look closer, you’ll see that our world is extraordinary!”
Reese will follow in the footsteps of several other famous actors, including Orlando Bloom, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Hardy, Chris Evans, Regé-Jean Page, Felicity Jones, David Schwimmer, and Eddie Redmayne, as well as legendary singers Sir Elton John and Dolly Parton.
Idina Menzel previously read ‘Robin’s Winter Song’ by Suzanne Barton, which tells children the tale of a little robin’s first winter.
Gregory Porter became the first star to sing a CBeebies Bedtime Story, when he belted out ‘Moon River’, the classic ballad from Breakfast At Tiffany’s as part of BBC Teach’s Bring the Noise campaign – which helps children discover the joys of music-making – while Chip Crawford accompanied him on the piano.
In a video ahead of the episode, he said: “Welcome to my recording studio.
“I’m Gregory, my friend Chip and I were just playing one of my favourite songs, In fact, I was hoping I could sing it to you for tonight’s bedtime story.
“It was an honour to perform a lullaby for ‘CBeebies Bedtime Stories’. ‘Moon River’ is one of my all-time favourites, so to be able to sing it, to inspire dreaming is pretty cool.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A brand-new ‘Wallace & Gromit’ adventure is coming to the BBC in 2024.
The eccentric, cheese-loving inventor and his loyal hound haven’t featured in their own film since 2008’s ‘A Matter of Loaf and Death’, but they will be back on the small screen in two years.
In the as-yet untitled adventure, Gromit grows concerned that Wallace has become over-dependant on his inventions, which proves justified when Wallace invents a “smart gnome” that seems to develop a mind of its own.
Charlotte Moore, BBC Chief Content Officer, said: “It’s incredibly exciting to be taking British audiences on a cracking new adventure with Wallace and Gromit and to be continuing our long relationship with Aardman and Nick Park following the success of ‘Shaun the Sheep’ this Christmas.”
Sean Clarke, MD of Aardman, added: “Wallace and Gromit are so loved by everyone at Aardman – they’re like family to us, and we couldn’t be more excited to be creating a brand-new film for them to star in.
“When Nick came up with the concept for a ‘smart gnome’, we all agreed that Wallace would find the idea irresistible – despite warnings from Gromit, who is wise beyond his (dog) years.
“We’re sure audiences will find the story irresistible too.”
The news comes after BBC One aired Shaun the Sheep caper ‘The Flight Before Christmas’ over the festive period.
The first ‘Wallace & Gromit’ film, ‘A Grand Day Out’, was released in November 1989, followed by ‘The Wrong Trousers’ in 1993, and ‘A Close Shave’ in 1995.
A feature film, ‘Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ followed in 2005, and then short film ‘A Matter of Loaf and Death’ aired on the BBC on Christmas Day 2008.

OHMYGOSSIP — Max George says ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has helped him after a “mentally difficult” two years.
The Wanted singer is grateful to the BBC Latin and ballroom show for getting out of his “lockdown lull”, and he is excited about teaming up with professional dancer Katya Jones on the show’s tour, which kicked off last night (20.01.22).
Max – who was partnered with Dianne Buswell in the 2020 series of the BBC dance competition – told The Sun Online: “I’ve been in a lull in lockdown. The last two years have been quite difficult mentally for me.
“My fitness waned a lot but I’m getting fitter and fitter now.
“And I can feel that in my head. I’m feeling so much better now.”
The star – who has previously spoken about his depression – admitted he is “feeling good” and having more “ups than downs”.
He added: “I’ve got a lot of ups rather than downs at the moment. I’m feeling good.”
In January last year, Max opened up about his depression.
The ‘Glee’ actor – who played Clint in the US musical-comedy TV series – said at the time: “I had a three month period in my life where I couldn’t leave my apartment without being sick.
“My head was spinning. I couldn’t walk. So I ended up in hospital having scans on my brain and it was all down to being depressed.
“There wasn’t anything specific, I felt like I was in a rut about what to do next, but I felt lucky, I have a great family, I got ‘Glee’ and moved to LA.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaun Williamson is putting on private gigs for £3,000.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star – who played Barry Evans on the BBC soap from 1994 to 2004 – is touring the UK showing off his karaoke skills up and down the country, and he’s also available for private bookings.
As quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper, his agent Noel Cornford said: “Shaun’s first appearances were at festivals and he went down so well we decided to spread it around.
“People really enjoy themselves. There is a broad demographic and they get the irony. We’ve had quite a few wedding requests.”
His 13-date ‘Barrioke’ tour kicks off in Southampton on February – with tickets costing £15 to £25 – and the talent website has described the events as a “riotous, joyous” experience.
The post reads: “Shaun hosts the event with his usual trademark warmth and teasing banter, accompanying participants on stage, creating a riotous, joyous moment that people will never forget.
“This is the ultimate Insta moment, something people will talk about and want to be part of.”
The 56-year-old actor previously insisted he struggles to get hired for “serious” roles because of his soap past.
Back in 2020, he said: “You make a conscious decision when you leave a soap that you either stay on the path of being a serious dramatic actor or you become a TV personality and I erred towards the latter.
“That means they won’t hire me to be the serial killer in the next series of ‘Line Of Duty’ because they would feel I lack credibility in that sort of role.
“But it does mean you get lots of juicy well-paid work – I did ‘Five Go Barging’ last year and what a craic to be on a barge for two weeks with John Prescott.”
Shaun thinks it’s “tragic” that he can’t get hired for serious TV roles, but he’s now accepted the situation.
He added: “No-one’s going to pay me to be Uncle Vanya in ‘Chekhov’ and there is something a little bit tragic about that, but that’s just the way it goes.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Shephard has recalled Meat Loaf being “thrown” out of a studio because the singer didn’t want to leave an interview, as he paid tribute to the star.
The ‘Bat Out of Hell’ hitmaker has passed away aged 74, and ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host Ben remembered a time when he was presenting GMTV’s showbiz round-up show ‘Entertainment Today’ with Jenni Falconer and a “so much larger than life” Meat Loaf didn’t want the experience to end.
Ben said: “I was lucky enough to interview him a number of years ago. Jenni and I, when we hosted ‘Entertainment Today’, some you might remember it was a Friday morning show. Part of ‘GMTV’.
“Meat Loaf came in and he was so much larger than life, in the end we had to throw him out of the studio! He didn’t want to go.
“He spent the whole time in the studio with us. It was an extraordinary experience.”
Ben’s ‘GMB’ co-host Kate Garraway said: “He virtually took over, I remember that very well.”
Kate also recalled previously interviewing Meat Loaf, remembering he turned up “ready for a performance” and was “very loud”.
She said: “I’ve interviewed him as well and it’s one of those things where he comes ready for a performance, doesn’t he?
“He’s not one of those people that is larger than life and extraordinary on stage and then you meet them in real life, and they’re a little bit mousy and ordinary, he is absolutely right there, very loud as well.”
Ben replied: “Huge, he’s huge in every way, his size, his scale, his noise.”
And Ben also recounted a story of a celebrity golf tournament at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales, when Meat Loaf played and then serenaded the crowd with a rendition of his hit ‘Bat Out of Hell’ while driving a golf buggy down the course.
He said: “It was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life, Meat Loaf was playing, Alice Cooper was there, Bruce Forsyth – it was an amazing experience.
“On the 18th hole, Meat Loaf got in the back of the golf buggy, they got ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ playing out of the back of the buggy, he’s driving down the 18th singing ‘Bat Out of Hell’ to all of these fans down the sides of the 18th hole at Celtic Manor.
“It was one of the most remarkable moments.”
A statement on Meat Loaf’s official Facebook page earlier today (21.01.22) confirmed his passing.
It read: “Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.
“His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including “Fight Club”, “Focus”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Wayne’s World.” “Bat Out of Hell” remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
“We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.
“We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘No Return’ star Sheridan Smith cried over her new role now she’s a mum herself.
The 40-year-old actress admitted her latest part is her toughest one yet after becoming a mother of one.
The four-part ITV drama follows the story of a family holiday abroad in Turkey turning into a holiday from hell when her character Kathy’s 16-year-old son is accused of sexual assault.
The former ‘Two Pints of Larger and a Packet of Crisps’ star – who welcomed her son Billy in May 2020 with ex-fiancé Jamie Horn – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Playing roles before I had Billy to playing ones now I’ve had him, is totally different.
“People had said you can’t understand the protectiveness and the overwhelming fear when you have a child and, he’s not even two yet, but I feel it. I hope it will resonate with the audience, they’ll be feeling all the angst as well. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. I love playing protective mums like that. Kathy is a lioness.
“I’ve never been to a read-through like the one for this. It was so powerful. I mean, I cried all the way through.”
Sheridan was so taken in by the script that she read through the entire four episodes back-to-back without stopping.
She added: “I read it and was gripped – I had to know what happened. It gave me that jelly belly feeling of ‘what would you do in that situation?’ They’re just ordinary people in an extraordinary situation and Kathy was an amazing lead role.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen McCrory won’t appear in season six of ‘Peaky Blinders’.
The BBC period drama is set to return for its delayed sixth series, but the late actress – who died aged 52 in April after a battle with cancer – won’t be appearing as she didn’t shoot scenes as Polly Gray when filming resumed in January 2021.
A spokeswoman told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Helen did not film with us in series six but Polly is an ever-present part of the show.
“She is forever the matriarch of the Shelby family and her presence is always felt by Tommy and the rest of the family. Her influence is an integral part of the season.”
It’s said Helen’s character Polly – whom she played from the first season in 2013 – was meant to have a bigger role in the story of Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his gang.
Production on the sixth season of the drama was halted back in March 2020 after Helen and Cillian told bosses they weren’t “comfortable” on set during the pandemic.
The following month, she explained: “The next morning I woke and told my producer I’m not comfortable doing this anymore … Cillian Murphy did the same.
“Together with the producers, we approached the BBC and said we’re going to pull this now before we have to do this down the line.”
Following Helen’s death, ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight praised the actress for her glowing personality.
He said: “I based the character of Aunt Polly on real working-class women I had grown up with: fierce, scary, protective of their own, funny and always aware of the absurdities of life.
“Helen was the perfect person to bring this amalgam of women to the screen in one stunningly vivid portrayal.
“Away from the business, she filled rooms and lit up places with her personality, and I can say now that her work on this planet had only just begun.
“The ‘Peaky Blinders’ audience is very selective, very particular, and to be taken to their hearts is a real achievement. People can spot the real thing, and that is what Helen was. On screen, that is what Helen McCrory is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fearne Cotton stopped doing some TV work because she found the reaction to being on the box “so overwhelming”.
The 40-year-old radio presenter – who has hosted the likes of ‘Top of the Pops’ and been a team captain on ‘Celebrity Juice’ – now prefers to take on “safer projects” instead.
Speaking on ‘The One Show’, she said: “I did have a tricky period where I had to reassess everything.
“Some of the other stuff I used to do, I’ve had to step away from for now,
“At the moment it feels nerve-wracking, a scary prospect so at the moment I’m doing things that feel safer.
“The reaction we get from being on TV … I found that so overwhelming that I started to dull myself down.
“I was diluting my personality because I was so scared of the reaction.”
The media personality previously took to social media to tell fans about her anxiety.
In April last year, she wrote: “Anxiety crept up on me as my head hit the pillow and I just couldn’t get into a deep sleep.
“Recently I have been sleeping so well, so last night was disappointing but I’m not going to let one bad night set me back. If anything it’s a sign I have more important work to do. More self inventory, more self compassion, it’s a life’s work.
“If you experience anxiety too, don’t compare yourselves to others. It’s easy to do, I know!
“It’s easy to imagine everyone else copes just fine but it’s not helpful to use comparison in these moments.
“Be kind to yourself always.”
