Guillermo del Toro took home Nightmare Alley’s ‘pickled baby’

OHMYGOSSIP — Guillermo del Toro took home the “pickled baby” from the ‘Nightmare Alley’ set.
The 57-year-old filmmaker likes to keep souvenirs from his work and amongst the mementos he took after filming wrapped on his latest movie, he “really needed” to have the grotesque tot in a jar, which is now on display in his house.
Asked what he’d taken after filming, he told NME.com: “The tarot cards, yeah! But also Pete’s book and the pickled baby. And the lie detector. I bought Stanton’s radio myself, and I bought Stanton’s bag. But I really needed to leave with that baby. It’s in my living room now.”
The acclaimed director insisted the look of his movies is one of the most important elements so he spends months on production design before filming begins.
He said: “There is a very private moment for me on every film where I start out working with just one designer. In this case, it was Guy Davis, who is one of my closest collaborators. We start out on what we call ‘the submarine’, which is a very intensive few months of doodling and designing, before we even hire the heads of departments to come in and make it all come to life.
“[It takes] probably about nine months, which is an enormous amount of time. But I believe fully that the most sacred space of my craft is the image and audio design.
“In the 30 years of my career I have always shot my movies the way I want them to look and feel, because in my opinion 80 per cent of a movie is experienced in a non-verbal way, whether you know it or not. The camera moves, the light, the colour… it’s not eye candy, it’s ‘eye protein’. Nothing is done just for decoration.”

Ria Hebden voted off Dancing on Ice during Movie Week

OHMYGOSSIP — Ria Hebden has become the latest star to be voted off ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The 39-year-old presenter and her professional partner Lukasz Rozycki lost in the dreaded skate-off against S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens and Brendyn Hatfield during Movie Week on the ITV figure skating show, after finding herself at the bottom end of the leaderboard on Sunday (30.01.22) night.
After her exit was announced, Ria – who was voted out by all of the ‘Dancing on Ice’ judges – vowed to continue skating.
She said: “We’ve absolutely loved it … we’ve had the time of our lives.”
Ria was in the skate-off last weekend as well, however, the judges decided to send Rugby star Ben Foden home.
The TV star – who fronts the entertainment news section on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ – admitted she was “slightly terrified” when it was revealed she was taking part in the competition and felt like the whole thing was an “out of body experience”, particularly as she hadn’t skated for a long time.
She said: “I went when I was, like, 10 years old with my gran and granddad.
“People in Yorkshire will remember Bradford Ice Rink, I skated there but if I’m honest, the last time I went on the ice was about six years ago with Noah and I did more drinking of mulled wine than skating.”
However, the mother-of-two hopes her stint on the programme will inspire other parents to try new experiences.
She said: “I’m gonna go on this journey and try my best and hopefully inspire mums, dads and everyone just to give things a go.”
‘Dancing on Ice’ continues on ITV from 6pm next Sunday (06.02.22).

Kevin Costner to direct new Western, Horizon

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Costner is set to star in and direct the new Western, ‘Horizon’.
The ‘Yellowstone’ star has played Montana rancher John Dutton in the hit drama since 2018, but he’s not ready to hang up his cowboy hat just yet.
The 67-year-old actor is set to produce and finance the upcoming feature film through his production firm Territory Pictures.
He told Deadline: “‘Horizon tells’ the story of that journey in an honest and forthcoming way, highlighting the points of view and consequences of the characters’ life and death decisions.”
The flick will tell the history of “America’s expansion into the west was one that was fraught with peril and intrigue from the natural elements, to the interactions with the indigenous peoples who lived on the land, and the determination and at many times ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it.”
Casting for the project will start next month, with production penciled in for August in Utah.
Costner hasn’t helmed a motion picture since 2003’s ‘Open Range’ – another Western starring Kevin, Robert Duvall, Diego Luna, Michael Gambon and Annette Bening.
Meanwhile, the star previously insisted he doesn’t think of ‘Let Him Go’ as a Western.
Costner played retired sheriff George Blackledge in Thomas Bezucha’s movie but feels that the movie differs from a typical Western despite the characters and 1960s setting.
He said: “I don’t think of it like that, just as I don’t think of ‘Star Wars’ as a Western in space. I thought of this as a movie set in the (60s) and people in the Midwest, they still raise animals and they have horses, and once in a while they have to arbitrate their own problems. Which is kind of what the west was about.”
The film – which is adapted from Larry Watson’s novel of the same name – centres on George and his wife Margaret (Diane Lane) as they set out to rescue their daughter-in-law and grandson from a dangerous off-grid family and he simply viewed the project from its plot.
The Oscar-winning star added: “I saw it as a man with a long relationship with a woman, a hard-headed woman, a woman who morally thinks she’s right, ethically she is right, but the reality of what she wants to do is really a threat.
“It’s a bigger threat to her than she can imagine, and my character sees it very very clearly, and he stoically, begrudgingly, he goes along to protect her.”

Kyle Allen to play He-Man in Netflix’s Masters Of The Universe

OHMYGOSSIP — Kyle Allen is set to play He-Man in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of ‘Masters Of The Universe’.
The movie was originally being directed and co-written by brothers Adam and Aaron Nee for Sony Pictures, but now they have jumped ship to the streaming giant.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘West Side Story’ actor, 27, will take on the leading role in the superhero flick.
Noah Centineo had been recruited to play the part in the reboot of the ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ 1980s toy line and cartoon series.
However, he was forced to quit the role in April 2021.
Upon the casting, he said back in 2019: “I’m very excited! It’s quite an opportunity.”
The ‘Perfect Date’ star then joked: “I have an affinity for being in my underwear. I don’t know what it is. I’m very excited, it’s quite an opportunity.”
The cartoon was previously brought to the big screen in 1987 as a live-action movie with Dolph Lundgren playing He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
A young Courteney Cox also earned just her second film credit playing the character Julie Winston, who aides He-Man in his quest to save Earth from the invading Skeletor.
The original animated series focused on Prince Adam who lives on the planet Eternia and can use his Sword of Power to turn into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, by uttering the words “By the Power of Grayskull!”
He-Man must use powers to defend Eternia from the evil Skeletor whose goal is to conquer the mysterious fortress of Castle Grayskull, from which He-Man draws his strength, so he can rule Eternia and the rest of the universe.

Jamie Oliver is not a fan of The Great British Bake Off and MasterChef

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Oliver admits ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and ‘MasterChef’ are “not his cup of tea”.
The 46-year-old TV chef’s own cooking contest, ‘The Great Cookbook Challenge with Jamie Oliver’, is set to kick off on Channel 4 tonight (31.01.22), but Jamie has admitted he “wasn’t particularly polite” the first time he was asked to front his own foodie talent show.
He told ‘BBC News’: “I know everyone else loves them, but they just make me a bit uneasy, a bit nervous, and it’s a bit stressful, and it’s not my cup of tea.
“I’m not judging the shows per se, I know people love them, but it’s never really been my bag. So when I was asked to do one myself, my first response wasn’t particularly polite.”
For ‘The Great Cookbook Challenge’, The Naked Chef has teamed up with Penguin Books to find “the next big cookbook author, as cooks compete to impress judges Jimi Famurewa, Georgina Hayden and Louise Moore for a one-of-a-kind publishing deal.”
On what changed his mind, he added: “But because it’s through the lens of publishing and the written word, strangely that did honestly change everything, and as I started to get into it, I was only wanting to do it if the show was more soulful and unexpected and aspirational.”
Meanwhile, Jamie recently suggested online takeaways are killing off the art of cooking.
The father-of-five insisted the habit of ordering meals to be delivered is “driving our kids away” from learning their own culinary skills.
He said: “Cooking is a rare breed and it’s still under threat.
“Everything, socially and technologically, is driving our kids away from taking ingredients and making a place of food.
“We’ve been under an illusion over the last 18 months – making banana bread and sourdough – there was a spike in cooking, but it was because we were forced.”
Jamie – who has kids Poppy, 19, Daisy Boo, 18, Petal Blossom, 12, Buddy, 11, and River, five, with his wife Jools – noted it’s “never been easier” to get takeaways delivered to your door, but he claimed the companies themselves don’t care about their customers.
He added: “It’s never been easier to order dinner on [a mobile phone]. Those companies, none of them cares yet.
“There’s no proof you can give me that they care. There’s no proof that they care about, your family, and the patterns of what you do.
“Convenience is the big driver and even cheap takeaways are expensive when you compare them to cooking.”
Jamie thinks all children should learn how to cook 10 different meals.
He explained: “If I had a wish for every child in Britain, it would be that every 16-year-old would leave school knowing how to cook 10 recipes.
“They would know the basics of nutrition, where food comes from, and how it affects their body.”

Nicholas Lyndhurst tries to ‘hide himself’ in public to avoid Only Fools and Horses catchphrases

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Only Fools and Horses’ legend Nicholas Lyndhurst goes out disguised in a “baseball cap” and tries to “hide himself a bit” to avoid attention from fans of the sitcom, a former co-star has revealed.
The 60-year-old actor played Del Boy’s hapless brother Rodney Trotter in the hit BBC sitcom, appearing in every episode along with Sir David Jason who played Peckham wheeler dealer Del.
His friend and former co-star Michael Fenton Stevens claims that Nicholas – whose 20-year-old son Archie tragically died from leukaemia in 2020 – always tries to hide from fans when he goes out so he doesn’t get stopped all the time and doesn’t get the show’s catchphrases shouted at him such as “alright Dave” and “Rodney, you plonker”.
Appearing on the ‘Only Fools and Horses Podcast’, Michael said: “I bumped into Nick in the street, before his son died sadly. He still has to have a baseball cap and hide himself a bit. People all the time go ‘you plonker!’ That can be wearing, I think. He sort of keeps himself to himself a bit.
“I worked with his son and it’s terribly sad. I haven’t seen him since but I feel for him, it must be awful.”
Michael, 63 famously starred in one of the most beloved episodes of the show, playing a holiday rep in 1989’s ‘The Unlucky Winner Is…’ in which Rodney has to pretend to be a 14-year-old boy after Del wins a holiday to Spain by entering one of his brother’s paintings into an art competition for under 15s.
Rodney has to become a member of the Groovy Gang and take part in activities such as skateboarding and a junior disco, whilst Del and his wife Casandra have to pretend to be his father and stepmother.
Michael admits that fans shout “groovy” at him on a weekly basis, and the love the public has for his episode is something he is immensely proud of.
He said: “It happens all the time. It just shows the power of the programme, I don’t think it’s got anything to do with me particularly because I don’t think I look anything like I looked in 1987 or whenever it was, I don’t look the same.
“People see this old bloke walking down the street and go, ‘Alright, groovy!’ I’m like, ‘What?! How the hell?!’ It’s incredible. It’s more than weekly, which is amazing. It just shows how powerful those programmes are and how loved they are that people would recognise me constantly from that situation.”

Frank Marshall hints at more Jurassic World movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Marshall believes that there could be more movies in the ‘Jurassic World’ franchise.
The upcoming ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is the concluding movie in the latest trilogy but the producer has suggested that more films will be following in the future.
Frank told Slash Film: “I think that ‘Dominion’s’ going to wrap up this trilogy, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re going to sit down, and we’re going to see what the future is.
“We have that wonderful series, ‘Camp Cretaceous’, on Netflix. We obviously want to make quality, good movies with great storytelling, great writers and directors, but we’re definitely looking to do more in the ‘Jurassic ‘ world.”
The producer previously hinted that the money-spinning ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise could have a future as he described ‘Dominion’ as the “start of a new era”.
Frank explained: “It’s the start of a new era. The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope.”
Director Colin Trevorrow recently explained that the new blockbuster, which is set to be released in June, has a different formula to past movies in the series as the dinosaurs have found their way around the globe in the latest flick.
The 45-year-old director said: “They have been multiplying and living amongst us and clashing with us.
“(The other ‘Jurassic Park’ movies) pretty much have the same story. But ‘Dominion’ is set all over the world, through many different environments: wilderness, urban, desert, snow. It’s exciting to see these creatures navigate environments that they weren’t built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park and now they’re here!”

Adam McKay stunned by polarising Don’t Look Up reviews

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam McKay was “shocked” by the strong reactions to ‘Don’t Look Up’.
The 53-year-old director helmed the dark sci-fi comedy – which discusses the apparent indifference towards the climate crisis – and was met with a mixed response from critics which he was initially taken aback by.
Adam told Variety: “I think we were all quite shocked. The reviews were pretty much 50-50, and that’s fine, we’ve all been through that. But I was shocked by the really intense anger that some critics had. We had been screening the movie and had gotten no reactions like that ever. Generally speaking, test audiences were laughing.
“So when reviews came out… That’s not to say they’re incorrect. Of course responses will be complicated and passionate.”
The ‘Vice’ filmmaker later explained how he and movie bosses realised that reactions were always going to be strong with a topic such as climate change.
Adam explained: “When it was released on Netflix, I was equally shocked by the passionate, positive responses. I’d never seen anything like that. People crying, laughing.
“So across the board, with the critical reception, the audience response, there was no middle ground. And eventually it became ‘We’re in 2022, of course those will be the reactions.'”
McKay remarked on some of the negative responses to the movie – which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep – on social media and explained it showed the momentum that film can generate.
He recalled: “I joked about some responses, saying some people didn’t seem clued into what was going on in the world. Immediately social media descended on me like a pack of hyenas. ‘He’s saying if you don’t like the movie then you don’t care about the world!’ That wasn’t what I was saying!”
“Suddenly it all had a crazy momentum and there was a backlash against the critics. And there became a talking point, ‘If you question the critics, you’re guilty of Trumpism!’
“It was right out of the movie. To see passionate response, to see climate scientists say ‘I feel seen’. It’s a reminder of what movies, TV and music can do.”

Michael Owen says performing on The Masked Singer was scarier than taking a penalty for England

OHMYGOSSIP — Legendary England striker Michael Owen says competing on ‘The Masked Singer’ was more nerve-racking than taking a penalty for England.
The retired football player – who scored 40 goals for his country – left the ITV talent competition on Saturday night (29.01.22) after being unmasked as Doughnuts.
Owen insists he felt a lot more calm taking a penalty kick in the shootout versus Argentina in the 1998 France World Cup than he did showing off his limited vocal abilities to the nation.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “You can put one billion people in front of me on a football pitch, I would be absolutely fine.
“But yourself in an arena where you just know that you’re absolutely awful at something and then go out and do it, you just feel like lambs to the slaughter, I was so nervous.
“Taking a penalty in the World Cup can literally make or break your career. If you miss a penalty for England, you will forever be tarnished with that brush.
“However, when you go up there and do something you just simply know you cannot do in front of a live audience … you just literally go numb.”
Owen, 42, left ‘The Masked Singer’ – which originated in South Korea and features various celebrities singing whilst disguised in elaborate costumes – in a double eviction along with actress Jaime Winstone, who was revealed to be Firework.
Jaime – whose dad is acclaimed British actor Ray Winstone – admits she agreed to go on the show to impress her five-year-old son Raymond.
She said: “I usually take on roles that are very gritty and serious, so for me this was a great way to show people what I can do, what I love doing and to make my son very happy. He’s going to think his mummy is a firework. This was my main reason.”
Jaime’s friend and judge Rita Ora actually correctly guessed it was her behind the mask at one point, before talking herself out of it.
The ‘After Hours’ actress said: “Rita actually guessed me once but convinced herself that I would never do this show.”

Big Brother’s Grace and Mikey welcome fourth baby

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ stars Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton have become parents for a fourth time.
The married couple found love on the reality show almost 16 years ago when they paired up in Series 7 back in 2006 and now they have welcomed another baby into their family, a boy they have called Atticus.
They already have daughter Georgina, nine, son Spencer, five, and three-year-old daughter Allegra.
Grace, 36, has shared their happy news in the latest issue of OK! magazine, and revealed that this pregnancy was far from easy.
She said: “It’s funny as people keep asking if we’re having any more and I’m like, ‘We’ve just had a baby and four is a big number!’
“People think we’re mad to have a fourth, and maybe we are, but we couldn’t be happier.
“I had to be induced early as I had a condition called anti-C, which can cause complications with the baby’s antibodies.
“I never had it with my other pregnancies, it was stressful. All through the pregnancy I had to give blood every two weeks.”
Despite her medical issues, Grace insists it was a “pretty good pregnancy” and because she is so busy caring for her other children she didn’t have time to worry.
She said: “It’s been a pretty good pregnancy, when you spend all day running around after the kids, you don’t have time to think about anything else, they’ve kept me more than occupied,” she added. “We’re all delighted and can’t wait to meet our new little one!
“We knew we wanted another baby so we started trying but it happened quickly so we were both shocked at how fast it happened. I think Mikey thought there would have been more practising!”
Grace and Mikey were joined in the ‘Big Brother’ house in Series 7 by Imogen Thomas, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace and eventual winner Pete Bennett and Nikki Grahame, who also coupled up.
Grace – who sold off her performing schools for millions, while Mikey is now a property developer – was dubbed the “most hated contestant of all time” when she threw a glass of water in housemate Suzie Verrico’s face after she put her up for eviction, but despite the public turning on her when she came out, the blonde reality icon has only fond memories of her time on the show, especially because it gave her a husband and a family.
She previously said: “I absolutely loved every second of it from the audition rounds to all the amazing opportunities that came after the show.
“The highlight really was meeting my husband, the daddy of our three munchkins.
“Mikey has said that there was an immediate attraction and I thought, ‘wow this will be a fantastic summer’.
“It was kind of like a holiday romance. We just enjoyed it really and everything we did since then has felt right for us.”

Danniella Westbrook planning legal action over Sam snub from EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook is planning to take legal action against the BBC for re-casting her character Sam Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’.
The 48-year-old actress played the fiery blonde in ‘EastEnders’ throughout the 90s but was temporarily replaced by Kim Medcalf from 2002 to 2005. She later reprised her role again in 2009 and then again in 2016.
The character Sam is coming back to Albert Square once again, and will be portrayed once more by Kim, 48.
Danniella – who has fought a public battle with substance abuse issues – has wished Kim “the best of luck” with role but has warned the BBC can expect to hear from her lawyers over the snub.
Posting on Twitter, she wrote: “Wishing Kim the best of luck at @BBCEastenders_ yet again this poor woman has to recreate a Samantha Mitchell as close to my last two recent come backs on the square go smash it darling..x oh but not to @bbceastenders my legal team will be in touch.”
In a follow up tweet she added: “Bet you all can’t wait for my new book now can ya ….. oh it’s gonna go way back to the things I’ve never ever told #beafraidpeople #itsallgood.”
The BBC bosses first approached Kim back in early 2021 to discuss her potential return and the ‘Collateral’ star is “thrilled” to be returning to Walford.
She said: “When the BBC approached me last year to reprise the role of Sam I was thrilled.
“She’s a brilliant character and I can’t wait to get back in the Square and work with the amazing cast.”
While it’s unclear what will bring Sam back to Albert Square, her return is set to be “explosive”.
BBC head of continuing drama Kate Oates said: “I have long wanted to bring Sam back into the family fold. Her return is guaranteed to be explosive.”

Bradley Walsh tricked producers into getting The Chase on air

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Walsh has confessed that he cheated to land his job as the host of ‘The Chase’.
The 61-year-old TV star has been presenting the hugely popular ITV quiz show since 2009 and Bradley has now confessed that made a bet with the producers to get the programme on air.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actor made a bet with the team that if he could beat one of the the Chasers in a run through then that would prove that the contestants would have a chance against the experts and the show should be made.
What Bradley didn’t tell the production team was that when he did the office run through he could see the answers to all the questions so he knew he would win his bet and can’t ‘The Chase’ on air.
Appearing on ‘Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp’ on Monday (31.01.22), he confessed: “I’ve got to fess up. When we first did the job, the only two choices that were first there were actually The Beast and The Dark Destroyer, right? And we were doing an office run through, and this is to get the job up and running. And I said, ‘This is ludicrous. these questions are so easy.’ And they said, ‘What, do you think you could beat the Chaser?’ I said, ‘If I beat the Chaser, we’ll make a series, let’s do that.’ And they went, ‘Yeah, alright, if you can beat the Chaser.’ Because they thought that the general public won’t be able to beat these gurus, right? And I went, ‘Oh I’ll definitely beat them, if I can beat them, we’ll make the series, alright?’
“And this is absolutely true, what they didn’t realise was the sheets with the questions and the answers on were lying face down on my end of the desk, I could see the print through and I could read the answers backwards and I read them. So every time they come in on the head to head as if they were at the table, I’d smash both of them. And as I walked away, I took the piece of paper and put it on the the other table so no one saw it. So I’d actually cheated.”
Bradley appeared on the radio show with his son Barney Walsh, who he stars with on reality road trip TV series ‘Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad’, whilst Roman’s own father, Spanda Ballet musician Martin Kemp, also was a guest on the show.

Tom Holland’s casting as Nathan Drake praised by Naughty Dog director

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland has been hailed as a “great choice” to take on the role of Nathan Drake in ‘Uncharted’.
The 25-year-old star will play the fortune hunter in the big-screen adaptation based on the popular video game series and Kurt Margenau, who worked on the games for developer Naughty Dog, has praised his casting.
He said: “I’m excited to see Tom Holland’s take on the character. I don’t know anything other than the trailers we’ve seen.
“I’m just excited. It’s like! It’s finally here! We have ‘Uncharted’ on the big screen, and it’s not going to change directors again, and it’s not going to be in development for even longer. And I think Tom Holland is a great choice.
“And they’re pulling inspiration from the games, so it’s really satisfying to see that he gets to be on the big screen.”
The movie is finally set to be released next month after spending years trapped in development hell and Tom had suggested that the film was “everything [he] dreamed it would be”.
The Spider-Man actor – who features alongside Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas in ‘Uncharted’ – said: “Filming is going so well. The film is like, everything I dreamed it would be. I mean, I don’t know if you guys played the games, but I was such a huge fan of the game, and it’s been going so well.”
Tom also confirmed that the movie serves as an origin story for Nathan Drake as it takes place years before the events of the first video game.
He said: “I think what ‘Uncharted’ offers that most video games films don’t is that it’s an origin story to the games … So if you played the games, you haven’t seen what’s going to happen in the film.
“And if you haven’t played the games, you’re going to enjoy the film because it’s information that everyone else is getting at the same time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Shankman has confirmed that ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ is set for a Halloween release.
The 57-year-old filmmaker is producing the fantasy sequel – which will see Bette Milder, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprising their roles as witches the Sanderson sisters – and revealed the release date in a social media post confirming that the project had wrapped.
Adam captioned an Instagram post: “SISTAAAAAHHHHSS! Aaaand that’s a WRAP!!! #hocuspocus2.
“Congratulations to the amazing team @bettemidler @sarahjessicaparker @kathynajimy @567and8 @mrsleshem and the WHOOOOLLLEEEE cast and crew!!!
“Coming to you #halloween #2022 on @disneyplus.”
Adam had been set to direct the movie but was replaced by Anne Fletcher due to his commitments to ‘Disenchanted’ – although he remained part of the project as an executive producer.
Meanwhile, Bette – who plays Winnie Sanderson – revealed that she is “really excited” about the new project.
The 76-year-old star said: “They sent the script and we’re really excited about it – we’re up for it. Although, I must say, I mean, the years have flown by and I am 75 and I do believe I can fly.”
Bette, Sarah and Kathy previously donned their witch outfits for a special Halloween fundraiser – an experience that Midler described as “bizarre”.
She said: “It was so bizarre to have been these characters 27 years ago.
“And to put all that gear on … it was so bizarre because we fell into exactly the same relationship we had and the same style of behaving on screen that we had 27 years ago. As if we had been off for a weekend!”

EastEnders legend Leonard Fenton dies aged 95

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonard Fenton who starred as Dr. Harold Legg in ‘EastEnders’ has died.
The actor passed away on Saturday (29.01.22) at the age of 95 with his family revealing they “feel incredibly lucky to have been able to be with him as his health worsened towards the end – a privilege denied to so many during these tough times”.
A statement released by his family read: “The family of the actor Leonard Fenton are heartbroken to announce his death at the age of 95 on Saturday January 29. Best known for his role as Dr Legg on ‘EastEnders’, Leonard’s acting career spanned more than 60 years.
“He worked in TV and film and his long stage career included time at the National Theatre and most recently the Royal Shakespeare Company. He felt privileged to have worked with some of the greats of the theatre, including Samuel Beckett, Orson Welles and Jonathan Miller.
“His passion for painting and singing pre-dated his acting career and was equally as important to him. He will be missed beyond words by his family.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have been able to be with him as his health worsened towards the end – a privilege denied to so many during these tough times.”
Leonard appeared as Dr. Legg in the first ever episode of ‘EastEnders’ broadcast in 1985.
He continued as an original cast member until the character was officially retired in 1999, although he went on to make a number of returns as Dr. Legg over the next 20 years, with his last scenes as his alter ego broadcast in 2019 which showed Dr. Legg sadly dying from pancreatic cancer.
Following the news of his passing, ‘EastEnders’ paid tribute to Leonard on the soap’s official social media channels.
A Twitter post read: “Leonard Fenton’s family have shared a statement with us, announcing that he has very sadly passed away, at the age of 95 … Our love and thoughts are with Leonard’s family and friends.”
An ‘EastEnders’ spokesperson added: “We are deeply saddened to hear that Leonard has passed away.
“Since appearing in the very first episode of EastEnders, Leonard created a truly iconic character in Doctor Legg who will always be remembered.
“Our love and thoughts are with Leonard’s family and friends.”

Jorgie Porter spills all the romantic details of her fiance’s proposal

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jorgie Porter has revealed her fiancé Ollie Piotrowski proposed to her in a lakeside chalet which she arrived at after completing a “treasure hunt featuring 12 photo clues”.
The 34-year-old actress – who is best known for her long-running role as Theresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap – has been dating businessman Ollie since 2020 and the pair got engaged in December 2021 whilst on holiday in Scotland.
Jorgie has now spilled on the romantic details of just how Ollie popped the question to her, admitting they were were both very emotional.
In an interview with the new issue of HELLO! magazine, she shared: “Suddenly Ollie was on one knee clutching an open box. I couldn’t believe what was happening.
“I started crying and so did Ollie. He was so emotional he couldn’t get his words out, so we hugged, he put the ring on my finger and then he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!”
Jorgie feels so lucky to be getting married to Ollie and believes all her previous relationships were leading her to “The One”.
She said: “I genuinely feel now like all my past relationships were a learning experience in how to find The One.
“When Ollie got on one knee, I just thought, ‘Oh my god, you’ve said you love me and you mean it.’
“Now we want to be together forever – one of those elderly couples on a bench, years later still hopelessly in love.”
The happy news for the pair came after heartbreak for the couple, who were expecting quadruplets before a devastating miscarriage left the couple in “total shock”.
She said at the time: “It didn’t make sense. I’d not had any sign that things weren’t OK. No pain or bleeding, I was getting bigger, my boobs were growing, I had so much hair on my body and I still felt pregnant. When the consultant performed the scan then said ‘You’ve miscarried’, I was in total shock.”
