OHMYGOSSIP — Arlene Phillips is “delighted” to be joining ‘Dancing on Ice’ as a guest judge.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge – who left the BBC ballroom and latin celebrity competition in 2008 – “misses” sharing her expertise on television and thinks the ITV ice dancing show’s Musical Week is the “perfect home” for her when she guest judges on 20 February alongside Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
The 78-year-old television personality told the Daily Star newspaper: “They’ve found the perfect home for me on musical theatre week. I am delighted. I love judging and miss ‘Strictly’ – it was a massive party of my life.”

Arlene – was replaced by the former winner and pop star Alesha Dixon on ‘Strictly’ – is als very keen on joining in on the fun of ‘The Masked Dancer’.
She said: “I can recognise most people through their dance moves and have that knowledge tucked away.”
Arlene competed on the lastest series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ and she has revealed that fellow campmate Richard Madeley – who had to leave the show following a health scare – shared the most fascinating ghost stories.
Arlene shared how sad she was when Richard Madeley left the ‘I’m a Celeb’ camp because of his “amazing” ghost stories, lamenting they aren’t real but rather “manifestations” of people gone, such as her mother, who died when she was a teenager.
She said: “Ghosts are a need for someone to have something in their life at that moment.
“I was gutted when Richard couldn’t come back in because of the COVID rules – he had the most amazing ghost stories – however I don’t believe in ghosts.
“I believe you can experience what people think is a ghost but it is a half dream.”
“It’s chilling to hear a story but it’s a manifestation.”
“There was one half dream I had many years ago. My mother, who died when I was 15, was with me, leaning across the bed.
“It was so real within the moment her spirit could have almost been there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Poultney doesn’t think ‘Dancing On Ice’ is “what it was” anymore.
The 48-year-old former skater – who was one of the show’s professionals from season 2 to season 9 – made no secret of her disappointment when she wasn’t asked to return when the programme was revived four years ago, but now she’s relieved not to be on the ITV competition series any more because she feels it isn’t as good as it used to be.
She told the new issue of HELLO! magazine: “I was very lucky because I’d just retired as a professional skater, so to then get another nine years of my career through a show that was at the height of its popularity and everyone loved was extraordinary.
“But since it’s been back it’s a different animal. I’m not involved and from what I’ve seen, that’s not such a bad thing because I don’t think it’s what it was and I find that sad.”
But Frankie will always treasure her time on the programme, particularly because she met her now-husband David Seaman on the show’s live tour.
She said: “I loved working with all my friends, I partnered some great celebrities who I remain friends with and I met my husband so I don’t have a bad word for what we produced at that time.”
Frankie and David got married seven years ago and couldn’t be happier with one another.
The former England goalkeeper gushed: “I’m so content in my life. We spend so much time together but we’re always busy, always talking and laughing.”
And with travel restrictions around the coronavirus pandemic easing, the couple are looking forward to seeing more of the world, with a trip to Rwanda among their plans.
Frankie said: “We are looking forward to exploring new places again and doing some more travelling.
“We’re off to see the gorillas [in Rwanda], which is so exciting!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Williams lied to her whole family about being on ‘The Masked Singer’.
The former Destiny’s Child star performed anonymously as Rockhopper on the ITV Saturday night singing show and she has revealed that she didn’t tell anyone about her secret identity not even her closest loved ones.
The 42-year-old singer told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I felt horrible lying to them.”
When she was asked how she coped being in the UK for the programme whilst her family and friends were back home in America, she answered: “Kinda hard.”
The Grammy winner admitted it was empowering to hide her true identity on the show – which is hosted by comedian Joel Dommett and features a judging panel comprised of Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora – because she is so famous due to her hits as part of the R&B group, which was also comprised of Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.
Michelle – who participated in Season 2 of the US version, disguised as Butterfly – said: “Being hidden boosted my confidence by 1000 per cent.”
After she was unmasked on Saturday (05.02.22), she explained the range of accents she had to adopt to hide her true identity.
Michelle told the panel: “I couldn’t come out talking like me. I was behind my mask cracking up.”
She was outed just after ‘Songs of Praise’ presenter Aled Jones was revealed to be Traffic Cone.
The ‘Walking in the Air’ singer revealed that his costume was inspired by game show mascot Dusty Bin from ITV show ‘3-2-1’, which ran from 1978 to 1988 and was hosted by Ted Rogers.
He told The Daily Star newspaper: “All I said was I wanted him to have a kind face like Dusty Bin from the old TV show ‘3-2-1’. The costume was everything I’d hoped it would be.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Stevens has praised her ‘Dancing on Ice’ pro partner following her exit from the show.
The former S Club 7 singer was eliminated from the ITV series last weekend, and the 43-year-old star has admitted she made “memories to last a lifetime” during the experience, and thanked pro skater Brendyn Hatfield.
She wrote on Instagram: “Wow, what an incredible experience… I’ve taken away so much from my time @dancingonice. I was surrounded by such an amazing team of people, learnt so much and made memories to last a lifetime. It definitely wasn’t the start @brendynhatfield and I had hoped for but I’m so so proud of what we achieved together and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Just the most gorgeous human… kind, patient and so incredibly talented, it was such a pleasure to learn from you everyday and I’ve most definitely made a friend for life, thank you for everything. (sic)”
Rachel also thanked her fans and the ‘Dancing on Ice’ production team, and she wished the remaining celebrities on the show well in future skates.
She added: “I also want to say a huge thank you for all your messages of love and support throughout my time at DOI it really has meant so much. Rachel was eliminated from ‘Dancing on Ice’ on Sunday (06.02.22) after she lost a skate-off against Olympian Kye White and his professional partner Tippy Packard.
She said afterwards: “It’s definitely been a process! I’ve really loved it. I’ve loved dancing with Brendyn so much. Thank you so much to everyone.”
Rachel’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ journey was heavily disrupted when she fractured her wrist in December, which meant she couldn’t make her show debut on January 23rd. She eventually did a week later on January 30th.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Mardell has quit ‘Coronation Street’.
The 28-year-old actress took to Twitter to confirm she is departing her role as Emma Brooker after four years, because she feels it is the “right time” to leave the ITV soap.
She wrote in a statement: “Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life. Four years have gone so fast.
“Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult. But I feel it’s the right time for me.”
Alexandra thanked her fellow colleagues for their warm welcome when she joined the soap, and admitted she will always think of the character whenever she sees the colour pink.
She added: “I can’t thank everyone at Coronation Street enough for welcoming me and trusting me to tell so many wonderful and heartfelt stories.
“And of course for the friendships and the amazing fans. When I see pink, I will always think of Emma.”
‘Corrie’ boss Iain MacLeod hinted the door will be left open for Alexandra’s potential return.
He said: “Emma has found herself in a massive pickle – one which will cause her to wave goodbye to the cobbles. At least for now.
“Alexandra has been pure ‘Corrie’ gold and I wish her all the best.”
Away from the ‘Corrie’ cobbles, Alexandra got engaged to her partner Joe Parker last April.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Love locked down!! 1000000 times yes! You make me so happy, my face hurts! Love you ridiculously. Future Mrs Parker (sic)”
Joe posted: “Went in to lockdown with a girlfriend, came out with a fiancée. What a lucky man I am. Can’t wait to marry you @alexandramardell I love you (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC has commissioned a new Paul Gascoigne documentary.
The former footballer’s life and football career will be documented in ‘Gazza’, which will air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, and the 54-year-old star admits he feels “good” to be telling “[his] side of the story”.
He said: “This is the real story of my time in football – the good and the bad of who I am – and what really happened around me.
“So much of this has never been seen before.
“It feels good to be telling my side of the story and to be working with the Western Edge Pictures team and the BBC, who have delivered this in the best way possible to my fans.”
Simon Young, Commissioning Editor, added: “As we head into a World Cup year, there couldn’t be a timelier moment to look at this piece of our recent history.
“Paul’s story is a cautionary tale about the pressure of life in the public eye, and we are privileged that he, his family and friends, and those who wrote stories about him at the time, have chosen to work with us on such a startlingly honest portrayal.”
Consisting of two 60-minute episodes, ‘Gazza’ will feature contributions from Paul’s friends, family, his former agents and advisors, former teammates and coaches; and some of the tabloid journalists who wrote about him.
Vaughan Sivell, Executive Producer, added: “It’s been fantastic to work with the BBC in bringing this hugely impactful story of British media and sporting culture to the screen.
“Paul’s highs and lows have made him a footballing icon of our time.”
Gazza played for England 57 times and starred for Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio, and Rangers, among others, throughout his career.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lineker will never release a celebrity cookbook, because he is only an “amateur” chef.
The ‘Match of the Day’ host would only foray into cooking broadcasting if he worked alongside “proper chefs” – such as Nigella Lawson – and admits he has turned down opportunities to make a book of his favourite recipes, despite being a “good cook”.
The 61-year-old former footballer told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If I ever did a cooking TV show it would only be with chefs. Where I could actually learn something with proper chefs. Nigella teaches Gary to Cook?’ Now there’s an idea.
“I’m a good cook. I’m getting better, but I’m not a chef and if I did a book or a cooking show I’d feel a fraud.”
The former Leicester City star says he gets suggestions to show off his foodie skills by fans on social media.
Gary said: “Somebody once asked me on a Tweet, ‘Why don’t you do a cooking show or a cookery book?’ and I said, ‘No, I’m not a chef.’ And, funnily enough, Nigella and another famous chef immediately liked my reply.
“I don’t think they were relieved that I wouldn’t be competition. I think they probably thought, ‘We don’t want another celebrity doing a cookery show.’
“All I am is a cook with five or six years experience since I started from scratch.”
The former Tottenham Hotspur player – who has four sons George, 30, Harry, 28, Tobias, 26 and Angus, 24 with his ex-wife Michelle Cockayne – ruled out entering politics, but he is “interested” in matters of state.
He said: “I’m interested in politics, but I’ve never wanted to be a politician. I’m interested in football, but I never wanted to go and do ­something on FIFA.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ stars Faye Winter and Teddy Soares have opened up about their relationship ahead of their first Valentine’s Day together, admitting they are still “wildly into each other”.
The 26-year-old star insisted it is “super important” to maintain a “good sexual relationship”, and the couple know each other’s “limits”.
She said: “I am a very strong and independent woman, and neither of us mind talking about sex. We know each other’s limits – we are both into trying new things but there is never any pressure.
“It is the one part of our relationship that no one else gets to see, it’s just us. People our age are having sex and there seems to be a taboo about talking about it.”
Teddy, 26, said he used sex as a stress buster.
He said: “100 per cent – I find sex relieves stress in the same way as going to the gym. When you are having sex, your endorphins are going and it’s good.”
Faye and Teddy, who finished third in the ITV2 dating show last year and moved into their first home together in November, have teamed up with sexual wellness brand Lovehoney for Valentine’s Day and they both stress how great sex keeps them close.
She posed for new pictures in Lovehoney Lingerie after her cancer scare when she had a mole, which had become enlarged, surgically removed on doctor’s orders.
The star stressed she was fine as she modelled Lovehoney Lingerie’s Lotus Black Sheer Embroidered Body – described as “a seductive boudoir look”.
She also wore Lovehoney’s Jewel Satin Pearl Blush Robe which is designed “to make bedtime the sexiest part of the day”.
Faye posed with a topless Teddy in Lovehoney’s Dark Orchid satin and lace chemise – which is said to “let your lover’s imagination run wild”.
Faye said: “Lingerie for me has always been a massive confidence booster. I have always loved pretty lingerie. Whether other people can see it or not, it makes you feel more body confident.”
Speaking on the Lovehoney blog, Faye and Teddy explained how being stuck at home during the COVID crisis hadn’t boosted their sex life – because they are at it all the time anyway!
Faye: “We have always been really affectionate. We are 26 and we both like sex.”
Teddy: “Our intimacy was always right up there. We are in the public eye but we’ve never been shy about public displays of affection.”
They revealed how they boost each other’s confidence.
Faye said: “Teddy tells me I’m beautiful every single day. He loves it when I wear no make up and his trackies.
“He does everything in his power to help with my confidence – he knows my insecurities and tells me they are the parts of me he loves the most.”
Teddy said: “Every day that I wake up she is bear hugging me. In the morning, I get a tea and I don’t even expect it. She just gets me. Behind closed doors, she is the first one who is there for me and I am experiencing a different level of intimacy. I have never had it before.”
The couple said they were keen to work with Lovehoney because being more open about sex was important.
Faye said: “Sex should not be a taboo subject. Being open about sex is nothing to be ashamed about. That is why working with Lovehoney is something we really wanted to do.”
Teddy: “Experimentation in the bedroom is important, so it is great to be working with Lovehoney. Talking about sex is a good thing. Lovehoney does sex in a classy way. It is not an embarrassing subject – you should feel enthusiastic about talking about it.”
They both had tips for the 2022 ‘Love Island’ contestants.
Faye said: “My tips are to make sure you love your life before you go into the villa and make sure you are doing it for the right reasons and you have a good support network around you.
“I think it is important that you enjoy the job you do before you go in, because you might have to return to it afterwards if it doesn’t work out on ‘Love Island’.”
Teddy said: “Be yourself and remember where you came from. Don’t feel as though you have to please anyone. I have such happy memories from the villa. We have lived through it and we are one of the success stories from what we have together.”
He wouldn’t be drawn on reports that he has been looking at engagement rings for Faye, but he added: “I do feel like I have met the one. Timing is everything. We shall see!”

The ‘Forbidden America’ star admitted to being a “user of porn” while comparing it to consuming greasy or sugary foods for those periods in your life “when you can’t get a decent meal”.
The 51-year-old documentary-maker told Radio Times magazine: “In my life, of course, I’ve been a user of porn. I sort of see it as a bit like … maybe this sounds harsh, but it’s a bit like junk food, right?
“But there are times in your life when you can’t get a decent meal, or you’re in a rush, or you’re just trying to get a need met.”
The ‘Weird Weekends’ star – whose new BBC Two three-part series begins with an episode titled ‘Porn’s Me Too’ – confessed to not being “proud” of his appetite for X-rated content.
Louis – who is married to producer Nancy Strang, with whom he has three sons – said: “It’s not something you’re especially proud of using.”
Along with Tuesday’s (08.02.22) episode about the reckoning of the porn industry, the two other installments of his latest documentaries will explore some other issues affecting the United States, such as gun crime among Florida rappers and he meets far-right activist Beardy Beardson, who threw him out of an interview.
Louis has joked he thinks he would’ve been able to “handle” Beardson because he joined the nation in taking part in Joe Wicks’ YouTube PE lessons.
He said: “I’ve been doing a lot of Joe Wicks. He was a weedy little guy who spent a long time on his computer gaming.
“There aren’t many people of whom it could be said that I could comfortably handle them in a physical altercation, but I think Beardson may be one of the few.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bamber Gascoigne has died aged 87.
The former ‘University Challenge’ host – who was the original quiz master when the show first aired between 1962 and 1987 – died at his home in Richmond-upon-Thames, London on Tuesday (08.02.22).
His representatives have confirmed he passed away after a short illness, and he is survived by Christina, his wife of more than 50 years.
Bamber was the man behind many of University Challenge’s famous catchphrases, including “Fingers on buzzers”, “I’ll have to hurry you” and “Your starter for 10”.
He was awarded with a CBE – Commander of the Order of the British Empire – for services to the arts in the Queen’s 2018 Birthday Honours.
He also penned a series of books – including 1972’s satirical novel ‘Mugatroyd’s Empire’ – and appeared in documentaries.
On major project included ‘The Christians’, which was a 13-hour TV documentary made for Granada – and broadcast on ITV – along with a companion book.
He presented the likes of 1987’s ‘Victorian Values’ and 1990’s ‘The Great Moghuls’.
Meanwhile, his West Horsley Place home is used as the location of the fictional haunted Button House in BBC comedy ‘Ghosts’.
Fans have paid tribute to the TV legend and recalled memories of watching him on screen.
One tweeted: “Such sad news. A quiz show icon. Started watching UC in the mid 60s stil watch it today. RIP Bamber #yourstarterforten (sic)”
Another said: “Bamber Gascoigne of University Challenge has died. RIP, your starter for 10 awaits you in the heavens.”
And a different fan wrote: “Very sad news that Bamber Gascoigne has died. He was the original presenter of University Challenge and had such a distinctive voice. Always fair to the students.”
