Tommy Fury ‘heartbroken’ over split from fiancée Molly-Mae Hague

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury is “heartbroken” over his split from fiancée Molly-Mae Hague.
The 25-year-old boxing half-brother of champion fighter Tyson Fury broke his silence on their break-up in an Instagram post on Wednesday (14.08.24), which he uploaded after his fellow ‘Love Island’ star partner Molly, also 25, announced in a statement she was “extremely upset” to “share the news of the end of their relationship”.
Tommy said in his post on Instagram Stories – written in white type on a black background: “I am heartbroken to share that Molly and I have decided to end our relationship.
“The past five years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority.
“Please respect our privacy, and our families’ privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.”
Tommy and Molly had their 20-month-old girl Bambi last year after they met on ‘Love Island’ in 2019 before getting engaged.
Molly announced their split with the statement: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this.
“After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.
“I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.
“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter.
“Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.
“I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years.
“You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all.
“Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time.
“I’ll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae. x.”

John Cena took extra precaution to be hit by Awkwafina in Jackpot

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena used a “prosthetic” nose to get punched in the face during ‘Jackpot!’
The WWE legend turned actor is used to getting hurt in the wrestling ring, and while he helped coach his co-star Awkwafina to land a believable strike, he still took precautions on the set of their new action comedy.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’ve had my nose broken in real life and this was a prosthetic so that was fantastic.
“I really think the setup for it was fun and when she actually did it and we did the gag, it looked great and it plays well in the movie.”
He advised Awkwafina to simply “swing for the fences”, and has revealed she did exactly that.
The new film, which has been directed by Paul Feig, explores a world where a Grand Lottery has been set up in California which allows the losers to kill the winner before sundown and claim the multi-billion dollar jackpot.
Awkwafina plays the lottery winner while Cena stars as her accomplice, and he thinks their respective roles play to their respective “strong assets” as performers.
He explained: “She was playing an anxious character who didn’t know what the hell was going on, and I get to be a peaceful, soothing voice of reason.
“And I think those are both really strong assets of our wheelhouse so we kind of just got to be ourselves and have jokes and funniness around that.”
Meanwhile, filmmaker Feig was delighted by Cena’s approach to acting, where he doesn’t mind looking “silly” if it works for the role.
He said: “The first time I talked to him, the first thing he said was, ‘Don’t think you have to make me look cool.’
“And I was like well that I kind of love, because that’s all I want out of my comedy stars, and you never know with a big action star, if they’re going to be like, ‘I won’t do this, I won’t do that, I won’t look silly.’ And he just does it all.”

Halle Berry would’ve reprised Storm role in Deadpool + Wolverine if Ryan Reynolds asked her

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Berry was up for reprising her role as Storm in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ – but Ryan Reynolds didn’t ask her to.
The 58-year-old actress played the mystic arts Mutant in four ‘X-Men’ movies from 2000 to 2014, and she has told how Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively once asked her if she would be up for portraying the character in one of his movies, and she said yes.
Speaking to ComicBook, she said: “Blake [Lively] asked me one time.
“I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’
“I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me.’ ”
However, Reynolds – who portrays Deadpool – didn’t get back to Berry about the opportunity.
She added: “But he never asked me.”
It comes after Berry admitted in 2021 she would love to play Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
She told Vanity Fair: “I would absolutely return to it, it’s a beloved character, I loved playing Storm, and people love Storm. So, I would absolutely, you know, if we could find a version that would make sense, or a storyline that would make sense, I would absolutely do that, for sure.”
The Academy Award-winner previously mentioned that she would be up for doing a solo movie as her superhero alter ego, but insisted it has to happen before she turns 65.
She said: “In a heartbeat. In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie. I love that character through and through. So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it’s before I’m 65-years old I would absolutely do that. I think they should do it. If the fans want that the fans need to speak up and I’m sure it would be a possibility. If Fox felt like they could make money off of a Storm movie I’m sure they would do it.”

James May travelling the world for new historical travel show

OHMYGOSSIP — James May is set to front a new historical travel show.
The ‘Grand Tour’ presenter is moving on after the Amazon Prime Video series – which he hosted with former ‘Top Gear’ co-stars Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson – finished filming earlier this year, and now he travel the show for new Channel 5 venture ‘The Great Explorers With James May’.
The programme will see him follow in the footsteps of explorers Christopher Columbus, James Cook and Sir Walter Raleigh, as well as delving into the dark side of their journeys.
He said: “TV shows are often described as ‘journeys’ and ‘explorations’. This one really is about journeys and exploration.
“We all think we know the basic pub facts about these three great men, but the reality may come as a bit of a surprise.
“It certainly was to me.”
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column that the show will be made up for “three 90-minute episodes dedicated to each name”.
The insider said: “James is no stranger to being part of a great adventure, thanks to his travelogue series that’s taken him from Italy to India on Prime Video.
“But this show is all about James looking back over the journeys of the world’s most notable explorers across three 90-minute episodes dedicated to each name.
“Not only will he examine the success of their stories, from engineering innovation to culinary invention, but also the treasures brought back to dark, damp Europe.”
The programme will show viewers the “less impressive” or desirable sides of the three explorers.
The source added: “This series will also reveal the less impressive or palatable aspects of these men.
“For many, their discoveries may not be quite what they expected.”

Joey Essex reports ‘stalker’ to police after receiving ‘threatening messages’

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Essex has been forced to call in police after he received 100,000 messages, including an apparent death threat to his girlfriend Jessy Potts, from an alleged stalker.
The ‘Love Island’ star – who met Jessy on the ITV2 dating show earlier this summer – is due to speak to police on Thursday (15.08.24) about the content of the messages from a female fan.
One message appeared to threaten to “shoot” 25-year-old brand partnerships associate Jessy.
Joey told The Sun newspaper: “We have had to take the decision to report the stalker to the police because the messages have started to become more threatening.
“I love my fans and want to be able to talk to them online but there has to be a line somewhere and sadly this is it.”
Joey’s team is said to have noticed the messages during his recent stint in the ‘Love Island’ villa, but the notes, which are said to include private messages and posts underneath his social media posts, are said to have become a “cause for concern” since he started dating Jessy.
A source close to the 34-year-old star said: “Joey loves his fans and being able to engage with them online so is used to receiving messages.
“Of course they’re not always nice and he does get trolled, but after being in the public eye for so many years he’s got used to dealing with that side of it.
“But when he was in the ‘Love Island’ villa his team noticed a real uptick in messages from one user in particular and most of it is nonsense.
“Since he met Jessy, though, they have grown increasingly frightening with some targeted, physical threats and it’s become cause for concern.”
Joey and Jessy hooked up in the ‘Love Island’ villa this summer, and they finished fifth in the series, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

GK Barry set for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — GK Barry is in talks to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The YouTuber – whose real name is Grace Keeling – is said to be in “advanced” discussions with producers about flying to Australia later this year to take part in the tough jungle-based reality show, with programme bosses keen to get the 24-year-old influencer on board because of her appeal to a younger audience.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “GK is hugely popular with the younger generation and is sharp and quick witted which would translate well to chats around the campfire with other celebs.
“Producers think she has great energy and is highly entertaining.
“She has millions of social media followers, which is a top focus of ITV at the moment.”
GK – who made her debut on ‘Loose Women’ last week – had previously been in talks to take part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but ultimately felt it wasn’t the right career move for her.
The insider added: “Grace is savvy and knows this is a brilliant opportunity to become more of a household name.”
“She did have several meetings with ‘Strictly’, but ultimately decided it wasn’t the best fit and is keen to pursue her telly career with ITV.”
The ‘Saving Grace’ podcast host admitted last year she’d like to take pat in ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ – but only if a hunky single man was also one of the campmates.
She quipped: “I want them to put me in there when there’s a muscly man that can hold me in a hammock and until then, I’m not going in. I need a single man, a single strong muscly man.”
A spokesperson for the show refused to confirm the news.
They simply said: “Any names suggested for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ are just speculation.”

Stephanie Davis pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis is pregnant.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress – who has son Caben, seven, with former boyfriend Jeremy McConnell – is expecting her first child with partner Joe McKalroy and admitted the pair have been on a “rollercoaster”, with doctors initially warning her to prepare for the possibility of another miscarriage.
Stephanie told OK! magazine: “After my previous miscarriage, I thought, ‘God’s going to be good to us, it’ll be plain sailing.’ But that’s not how life works.
“It’s been… a roller coaster.”
The 31-year-old star’s blood tests found her levels of HCG, a pregnancy hormone, were too low and not doubling as they should.
She recalled: “The doctor said he believed I was having another miscarriage – or an ectopic pregnancy. But I wasn’t having it, I had this strong gut feeling that it was all going to be OK.”
Joe was asked to have “a word” with his partner because she wasn’t “accepting” of what they were told, but a few days later, Stephanie received a phone call.
She said: “It was one of the lovely nurses from the Buchanan Suite in Whiston Hospital.” She said, ‘Steph, this is a miracle. Your HCG levels haven’t doubled – they’ve tripled!’
“We went for a scan and saw our little bean on the screen. It was amazing.”
But the ‘Coronation Street’ star then discovered she had a haematoma, which she had also had when she miscarried two years ago.
She said: “I was hysterical; on total bed rest, bleeding.”
But the day before she, Joe and Caben went on holiday to Majorca, Stephanie was told the haematoma had gone and the baby was fine – only for her to fall ill while away, contracting C-diff, a bacteria than can cause diarrhoea and colitis.
She said: “Don’t ever Google that if you’re pregnant. I was terrified. I’m still on medication to treat it, but I’m slowly recovering.”
The couple are expecting a baby boy and have chosen a name for him, though they may find a different moniker once he is born.
Stephanie – who is due to give birth in January – said: “We’ve always had a name for a boy and a girl. We might change our minds once he arrives, though. When Caben arrived I realised he was not a ‘George’. So we’ll see.”

Amy Dowden ‘cried more’ over losing her hair than any other part of cancer treatment

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Dowden “cried more” over losing her hair than any other part of her cancer battle.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, and she also contracted life-threatening sepsis while undergoing treatment, but she admitted nothing made her as emotional as shaving off her locks before she lost them as a side-effect of her treatment.
In an extract from her book ‘Dancing in the Rain’ published by the Mail on Sunday newspaper, she wrote: “My life away from Strictly was distinctly unglamorous. With each new chemo session, the next challenge was growing more and more obvious. Before I could say goodbye to cancer, I would have to say goodbye to my hair. And I think I cried more over that than anything else.
I would have to trim it, clip it and finally shave it completely – and then face the terrifying decision to appear on national TV with a fuzzy bald head.”
Because of her treatment, Amy and her husband Ben Jones had to go through fertility treatment so she could have her eggs retrieved before undergoing chemo, and she felt “really lucky” because of how successful the process was.
She wrote: “At times I was an emotional mess and broke down in floods of tears. Going through surgery, facing chemo and now putting a lot of hormones into my body, my life had changed so radically in such a short space of time. There were no guarantees, our consultant warned – but at last there was good news.
“I responded well, and ten days later, a medical team retrieved nine eggs. Normally, they’d expect two or three embryos from that number, so we were really lucky to end up with five healthy embryos at blastocyst stage. I was over the moon when the hospital rang.
“I was working that day in the studio with Carlos [Gu] from Strictly and when I told him, he cried out: ‘I’m a godmother!’ Dianne [Buswell] asked me if they were girls or boys. ‘What? We don’t know that!’ I laughed.
“Their reaction made me ache to be with the pro dancers full-time. They were about to go into training for ‘Strictly 2023’, but of course I’d been forced to pull out when I was given my diagnosis.”
Amy credited her fellow ‘Strictly’ professionals with helping her recovery.
She wrote: “Slowly I grew stronger again – helped in no small measure by my friends at ‘Strictly’.
“My goal was to get to the show as often as I could. The production team checked that everybody around me was OK – that nobody had a cold or a temperature – and I only went on my good weekends, ten days after having chemo.
“But being back in the ‘Strictly’ fold with my ‘Strictly’ family was the best medicine. I needed it for my mental health, to have something to look forward to and keep me going.
“It’s exciting just being backstage, even when you’re not performing, because you’re still soaking up the joy and glitz and glamour of it all.”

Auli’i Cravalho teases Moana 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Auli’i Cravalho thinks ‘Moana 2’ celebrates “true womanhood and strength”.
The 23-year-old actress – who first voiced the titular Disney princess when she was just 14 back in 2016 – has returned to voice the character again in the highly-anticipated sequel and she told how the empowering plot allowed her to “tap into” her own self with her alter ego older and wiser now.
Speaking at D23, she said: “The film is so reflective of its time now that we’re in a moment of true womanhood and strength and what it means to journey on in your own power.
“I feel like this film allowed me to tap into parts of myself.”
Auli’i also teased the possibility of a third film in the series further down the line.
She said: “Stay tuned, we’re only getting started.”
Meanwhile, ‘Moana’ writer Jared Bush admitted it was a challenge to come up with ideas for a sequel but he’s happy with the plot that’s been crafted.
He said: “There’s not a lot of sequels to musicals. And the reason for that is because in a musical, your main character has a dream, sings about that dream and accomplishes something.
“We needed to figure out for this movie, what is next for Moana? It was her trying to understand herself.
“There was something inside of her that she wasn’t able to be fulfilled. There was this life out there that she wanted to pursue, but she really loved her island. How does she put those things together? So, finding herself was really important. There is still a lot left for her to discover about herself.”
The project was originally set to be a TV series, but Bob Iger was so impressed with the footage that the decision was made to go with a feature film theatrical release.
The movie will see Moana head out on another journey in Oceania, accompanied by demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), as she heeds the call of her wayfinding ancestors to find more of her people.

Manny Jacinto to play Lindsay Lohan’s husband in Freaky Friday sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Manny Jacinto will play Lindsay Lohan’s husband in ‘Freaky Friday 2’.
The 38-year-old former child star is reuniting with her screen mom Jamie Lee Curtis, 65, for a long-awaited sequel to the 2003 body-swap classic as Anna and Tess Coleman respectively but the actresses may have left fans disappointed after they revealed Chad Michael Murray’s character Jake won’t be wed to his former classmate.
Jamie told Entertainment Weekly: “Manny plays Lindsay’s husband. But that’s like as much as we can say.”
Lindsay added: “Manny is lovely. So funny.”
But the pair teased Chad still has a big role to play, even if Jake and Anna aren’t together.
Jamie said: “Chad is in it. And boy, oh boy, is Chad in it.”
Lindsay recently admitted she “felt like a kid again” when she returned to the Walt Disney Studios set to shoot the film.
She told ‘Nightline’: “Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I have stayed in touch over the years.
“You know how they say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close with? If you cannot see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated.
“I think really for me was when I went onto the Disney lot. And being back on the Disney lot because that’s not just Freaky Friday for me. That’s The Parent Trap, that’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, that’s Herbie. It’s so many moments for me. So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again.”
“I’m so grateful for every moment of it. Every second… I’m going to, like, get emotional. It’s a great experience.”
In the second movie, Lindsay’s alter ego Anna will be all grown up with a child of her own and a new stepdaughter to contend with.
The cast also includes new additions Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will return.

Matthew Lillard gives update on Five Nights At Freddy’s sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Lillard has revealed that the ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’ sequel will be filming in October.
The 54-year-old actor is best known for starring as Shaggy Rogers in the ‘Scooby-Doo’ franchise but received further recognition when he played a serial killer in the 2023 horror and revealed on the YouTube series ‘JayBee and Milly’ that the sequel will begin shooting in October.
When asked by host Dan Farrell whether he would be interested in making a cameo in Netflix’s upcoming ‘Scooby-Doo’ project, he said: “We are journeymen on a career path… sure, I would love to… in some way, honor the original show, to give fans something fun. I’m available. I’m doing a TV show right now, I’m doing ‘FNAF’ in October, but I’m available. If anyone wants me, they can find me if they need me.”
The sequel to ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s – which is based on the video game series of the same name – currently had a release date of 5 December 2025 and Josh Hutcherson is expected to return to his leading role of Mike Schmidt.
Meanwhile, Matthew has played the role of Shaggy in both live-action versions of ‘Scooby-Doo’ – in which he starred opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. – and also voiced the part in cartoon iterations since 2009 but insisted that he is not a voice actor by trade and that Hollywood moguls should stop stunt casting famous names into animated projects.
He said: “It’s a totally different set of tools, voice actors are incredible and I’d like to be super clear – I do one voice really well and everything else I suck at! I don’t consider myself a voice actor. When you put voice actors in a movie versus a celebrity, is night and day. Celebrities are terrible, in my opinion, in animated films. Terrible.
“And all those films should go to people who do it for a living because their skillset is incredible. Hollywood uses celebrities to sell tickets and it lessens the quality of the film.”

Helen Flanagan was glad to have her close ‘Corrie’ friends amid her mental health scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan was thankful for her ‘Coronation Street’ pals after she went into psychosis due to a nasty reaction to ADHD medication.
The former soap star was forced to pull out of the ‘Cluedo 2’ theatre tour earlier this year and recalled “seeing things” and feeling “in danger”.
She told The Mirror: “I wasn’t very well.
“I really struggled mentally. Sadly, I had to pull out of a theatre tour. I always wanted to do theatre as an actress. That was hard.”
Fellow ‘Corrie’ star Ellie Leach, 23, stepped in her for her pal.
Helen continued: “I’m good friends with Brooke Vincent, Lucy Fallon and Ellie Leach who took over when I wasn’t well in January. I went to see Ellie in that.”
The 34-year-old actress – who has Delilah, five, Charlie, six, and Matilda, eight, with her ex-partner Scott Sinclair – added: “It’s not an easy thing. But I think you need to concentrate on doing everything for your kids.
“It is all a balance. Constantly. You want to be a good role model to your daughters and your sons. And I think children more than anything they want your time. It doesn’t matter how many fancy things they have they want you to be present. They want their mum. So, it is finding that balance.”
Helen, who is looking for love on the new series of E4’s ‘Celebs Go Dating’, does her best to keep well mentally and physically, but it’s not always easy as a single mother.
She explained: “I try and look after myself and my mental health, it is so important.
“Being self-aware and exercise. A lot of the time we ignore it for so long and that’s why it gets bad.
“The one thing I miss about being with my ex is not being able to leave every morning to go to the gym. I live in the middle of nowhere. You can go for nice runs and a bike ride and that’s what I really miss… those little things. That’s really hard as a single mum.
She continued: “My little boy goes to nursery twice a week, but I can’t leave the house because I need childcare… Or the school run, I’ve got to take all three. I can’t leave the baby at home with their dad because he isn’t there… Those little things bother me.
“I’d love to pop to the gym at night or go for a swim, but I can’t. Those little things are tricky as a single mum. Everything is difficult but being in a relationship that’s quite challenging – I think that’s harder than being a single mum. If you’re in a relationship that’s really challenging and trying to bring up children, that is way harder for me.”

Alan Cumming treats The Traitors job like a film role

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Cumming treats his job hosting the US version of ‘The Traitors’ just like a film role.
The actor has presented two seasons of the hit game show, and he’s revealed he “acts his socks off” and even compared himself to Jennifer Aniston on her hit drama series ‘The Morning Show’.
Alan told The Hollywood Reporter: “Being on a film, you get dressed in the morning, get into your costume and makeup and hair. That is very important for me, to understand who the character is …
“I act my socks off in ‘The Traitors’, just like I did on ‘The Good Wife’, and it’s this very juicy thing like I do in the theatre or would do at the Tonys.”
Alan revealed he wears an earpiece through which he’s fed lines and direction from a producer, and it makes him feel like a TV star.
He added: “I like having a little earpiece in. I feel like Jennifer Aniston in ‘The Morning Show’, but with better clothes.”
He has filmed a third season of the show and admits there’s one player who audiences will love to hate. Alan explained: ““I can’t wait [for you to see] who it was, what it was – they were lying so profusely and dramatically. They were giving me a run for my money!”
Alan has become known for his outlandish costumes on the show, but he’s adamant he’s just playing a character on TV and doesn’t actually dress like that on a daily basis.
He previously told The Telegraph newspaper: “People imagine me to dress like I do on The Traitors but that’s a character – it’s me playing Moira Rose from [TV show] Schitt’s Creek playing me.
“Usually, I look like an eccentric old man in sandals, yoga pants and a T-shirt that says ‘Namasgay’.”

Deadpool and Wolverine becomes first Marvel movie in 3 years to cross $1bn

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ has become the first MCU movie since ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ to cross $1 billion at the global box office.
The R-rated Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starring blockbuster has made history for Marvel, following in the footsteps of the 2021 superhero flick.
Despite its success, Ryan recently insisted he “has no idea” if he’ll play Deadpool again.
The 47-year-old actor isn’t sure whether this will be his last outing as the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ because director Shawn Levy made the film as “a complete experience” that doesn’t set up future instalments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Speaking to Collider, Reynolds said: “I would say Shawn made it pretty clear, and I think in the most loving way because, talk about the greatest uptown problem any human beings could have is a studio like that saying, ‘What’s next?’ or, ‘How can we make something else?’
“But this movie was made as a complete experience. It wasn’t meant to be a commercial for another movie. It wasn’t meant to be any of that stuff. I get a great deal of joy making a movie like that.
“But honestly, right at this moment, I have no idea if I’ll ever wear that Deadpool suit again. I hope I do, but I don’t know. Right now’s the time to just kind of hang it up for a bit and see what happens next.”
‘The Adam Project’ filmmaker was happy neither Marvel or Disney pressured him to include set-up for future projects in the MCU and instead allowed him to create “one really satisfying self-contained story”.
He explained: “A lot of people have asked me, ‘Were you pressured to service the next movie, or to set up something in’ Avengers?’’
“Really, to their credit, neither Disney or Marvel ever asked us to service anything beyond one really satisfying self-contained story. And we made exactly that with their support. So as far as the future, [only] time will tell.”

Joaquin Phoenix’s movie exit caused a ‘nightmare’

OHMYGOSSIP — Joaquin Phoenix’s departure from Todd Haynes‘ untitled gay romance movie has been branded a “nightmare” by one of the producers.
The 49-year-old actor exited the project just days before the film was set to start shooting on location in Guadalajara, Mexico and the future of the movie is said to be in doubt as it reportedly hinged on Phoenix’s casting – now Christine Vachon – who works for Killer Films – has admitted it’s been a very difficult time.
In a post on Facebook, she shared and article about the drama and wrote: “A version of this did happen. It has been a nightmare. If I haven’t been in touch or returned your call – this is why.”
She went on to ask followers not to criticise producers for hiring a straight actor to play a gay role – insisting the movie was Phoenix’s passion project.
Christine added: “And please if you are tempted to finger wag or admonish us that ‘that’s what you get for casting a straight actor’ – DON’T.
“This was HIS project that he brought to US – and Killer’s record on working with LGBTQ actors/crew/directors speaks for itself. (and for those of you who HAVE – know that you are making a terrible situation even worse).”
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ actor Danny Ramirez, 31, had been cast opposite Phoenix in the movie, about two lovers who leave California for Mexico. The film was said to be rated NC-17 and feature a relationship that will “challenge” audiences.
Entire sets had been built on location prior to Phoenix’s exit and there has been speculation the collapse of the project could lead to millions of dollars in losses.
A source told Variety: “The project is in peril… The crew is now out of work, and stakeholders in the film still need to be paid. Losses could exceed seven figures.”
Director Haynes previously opened up about Phoenix’s plan for the movie revealing the actor was keen to push it “further into more dangerous territory, sexually”.
He told Variety last year: “It’s a love story between two men set in the 30s that has explicit sexual content that or at least it challenges you with the sexual relationship between these two men. One is a Native American character and one is a corrupt cop in LA. It’s set in the 30s. They have to flee LA ultimately and go to Mexico. But it’s a love story and with a strong sexual component.
“And what was so remarkable is that it all started with Joaquin having some ideas and some thoughts and just questions and images. And he came to me and said, ‘Does this connect to you at all?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, this is really interesting.’
“And so we would just be on the phone talking and it developed into a script. He had fragments of ideas and then I started to formulate them into an actual narrative.
“And then I brought my wonderful, brilliant friend John Raymond, with whom I collaborated with on ‘Mildred Pierce’ into the process. Basically it was just this wonderful, organic way to create the script. And Joaquin was pushing it further into more dangerous territory, sexually.”

Dave Myers’ wife Loliana Orzac still talks to the late TV star: ‘I don’t like the word widow…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liliana Orzac still talks to Dave Myers.
The ‘Hairy Bikers’ star and TV chef passed away in February at the age of 66 following a battle with cancer and now Lili – who he tied the knot with in 2011 – has admitted that she “doesn’t consider herself a widow” and is still Dave’s wife.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I don’t consider myself a widow… I don’t like the word. I’m Dave’s wife. He’s still everywhere in our house. I talk to him all the time.”
“This was a man who was at his happiest around our table.
“He lit up a room anyway – the man burned with creativity, with interest in everyone – but his passion for life came through particularly when he was cooking for someone, for everyone.
“My husband served up love on a plate.”
Lili recently admitted that there there is a “different layer” to her grief because she could turn on the television and see him there at any moment.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she said: “Everybody who loses somebody in their lives misses them but there’s a different layer because if I turn on the TV, he might be on. There are cookbooks in the house everywhere. He is everywhere. It just transpires and rolls on into this beautiful thing.”
Lili recalled that she was running a hotel in Romania when she met the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star and he ended up staying there by accident, but they soon forged a relationship over email while he filmed his hit culinary series with Si King.
She said: “I didn’t know he was the one. It took him two years to convince me! I was running a hotel and he just accidentally ended up staying there, they were booked somewhere else.
“The jewels that he threw at me at the beginning were words. We met when, he was on the very first series of ‘Hairy Bikers’, and after Romania, they traveled to Mexico, Argentina, Turkey, and India, all beautiful places and he used to send me these beautiful emails about the food, people, the cultures. So I had these wonderful emails about these wonderful trips and it just fascinated me.
“Then we thought we’d meet up and after he finished filming, we used to meet up for weekends in different places in Europe.”
