OHMYGOSSIP — Katya Jones has dismissed claims of tension between the Russian and Ukrainian dancers on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
The 32-year old ballroom dancer has rubbished reports of a rift between some of the professionals due to the ongoing conflict between the two nations
Katya and Luba Mushtuk, 32, both come from Saint Petersburg in Russia, whereas Nikita Kuzmin, 24, and Nadiya Bychkova, also 32, hail from Ukraine.
Speaking to former contestant Sara Davies on BBC’s ‘Morning Live’, she said: “This is total nonsense, we’re so supportive of each other always. The invasion is totally wrong, it shouldn’t be happening.
“We’ve been in regular touch with Nikita. He’s been very proactive. I find it so upsetting to see what they’re going through. Within our group there’s nothing but support.”
Katya also condemned her home nation’s invasion of Ukraine and urged people in power to put an end to the conflict.
She said: “You’ve seen firsthand how supportive we all are of each other always, and I want to make one thing very clear, I think the invasion of Ukraine is totally wrong, it shouldn’t be happening, it must stop.
“We’ve been in touch with Nikita who has been very proactive in sharing ways about how to help Ukrainian people.
“I personally find it really upsetting to see what these people are going through, it’s scary and it’s so wrong on all levels, but within our group there’s nothing but love and support and we can’t wait to come back together again.”
Luba has also hit out at the “untrue” claims that there were tensions behind-the-scenes.
The star said: “It’s been really upsetting to see so much untrue information – we are only about love. We think about the victims and the people who are struggling.”
The show, which is set to return in the autumn, will see all four dancers strutting their stuff once again after the line-up was announced on Thursday (31.03.22)
Other pro dancers set to feature include Dianne Buswell, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Cameron Lombard, Gorka Marquez, Giovanni Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington and Nancy Xu.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack felt awkward filming sex scenes on ‘The Inbetweeners’.
The 32-year-old comedian rose to fame after playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the E4 comedy series from 2008 to 2010, but admits that it was strange filming intimate scenes with co-star Simon Bird – who played Will McKenzie – because of the age gap between the pair.
Emily, who was 17 at the time whilst Simon was in his late 20s, recalled the embarrassing moment she tried to break the tension.
Speaking on Rob Brydon’s podcast, she said: “He had to get on top of me and I remember thinking I’m going to have to say something to break the ice, and I said, ‘How does it feel being on top of a 17-year-old?’
“He was like, ‘You’re 17! Oh my God.’ He was mortified.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ contestant also spilled the beans on the beauty regimes of her male co-stars, who included James Buckley and Blake Harrison.
She added: “Every time I walked into the dressing rooms they were having their chests shaved.”
Emily is currently a team captain on the ITV2 comedy panel show ‘Celebrity Juice’ after replacing Holly Willoughby and revealed that Miriam Margolyes and Louis Theroux would be her dream guests on the programme.
The star said: “I think Miriam Margolyes needs to come on. She is just incredible. Big Narstie was a guest for the first show back this series and had us all crying with laughter. I’d love to have Louis Theroux on my team because it’s Louis Theroux.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Andi Peters says people treat him like a cash cow.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter, who hosts the competition segments on the ITV breakfast show, says people are so used to seeing him give out money that they simply expect him to do it when they meet.
Andi confessed that he has to let people down sometimes despite his sunny TV persona.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Andi said: “When I used to book a restaurant, they go ‘What’s the name?’ I say ‘Andi Peters’ and they go ‘Have I won?’ I feel awful. I’m like ‘No I’m so sorry, but can I still have the table at seven?’.”
Andi is regular on ‘GMB’ but was forced to broadcast the daily competition segment from his phone recently after a technical hitch occurred.
Peters was presenting live from Bristol on the ITV show when the problem happened and he had to resort to his phone to get across to viewers.
Whilst appearing on the show he said: “It’s Wednesday morning, it’s 8.48. You’re watching Good Morning Britain. That is the Clifton Suspension bridge here in Bristol and I’ve got a chance for you to win a huge prize.
“I’ve gone a bit rogue. Our technology, which is all over here, has all broken down, so I’m just doing it on my phone – why not? It’s been two years since we went into lockdown and it feels like lockdown again.
“How do you fancy £100,000? It’s probably all reversed and the wrong way round!”

The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ presenter took to Instagram on Thursday (31.03.22) to inform her fans that she is working on a new venture.
The post read: “Well this is an exciting day because I’m happy to announce I’m working on a book!
“Sometimes our lives can get so busy we forget to invest in ourselves and spend time focusing on our own health and well-being, so I wanted to channel that into my new book and share the simple steps I’ve learnt throughout the years that can have such a positive effect on how we feel!
“Stay tuned for more exciting news.”
Friends and fans of the star were quick to flood the comment section, congratulating the mum-of-two for the good news.
Her ‘Strictly’ co-presenter Claudia Winkleman wrote: “Brilliant girl”.

A fan of Tess added: “Beautiful lady and congratulations. When it comes out it will be straight in my basket.”
Tess previously revealed how she “refuses” to count calories after being “disturbed” by the idea of diet culture during her modelling days.
The 53-year-old star – who shares daughters Phoebe, 17, and Isabella, 12, with her TV presenter husband Vernon Kay – said: “My mum never dieted, and that word was never mentioned in our house. I grew up in a traditional northern household where dinner was meat, potatoes and vegetables.
“I didn’t realise there were calories in food until I left home at 19, and I have been on a taste journey cooking for myself ever since. I do not calorie count. I refuse. And I wouldn’t dream of mentioning calories to my young daughters.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Collins is engaged to her boyfriend Mike Davidson.
The ‘EastEnders’ legend revealed on social media that Mike, 38, had popped the question on a hike up Temescal Canyon in Los Angeles – a decade after the pair first met.
Michelle told her Instagram followers: “So this happened in #la he got down on bended knee while we were on top of #temescalcanyon basically no one else around just us.
“It’s #beautfiul and I’m #happy #10years this April about time I think (sic)”
The 59-year-old actress previously hit out at critics of the 22-year age gap between the duo and was frustrated to be branded as a “cougar”.
Michelle – who has also appeared in ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Doctor Who’ – said in 2018: “Mike is 22 years younger than me and I’m regarded as a predator. It drives me mad. People call him my toyboy beau. He’s nearly 35, for God’s sake.
“He turned to me the other day and said, ‘Surely I’m not still your toyboy, am I?’
“I laugh about it now but it is annoying. And I hate that word cougar. I can’t stand it. I find it so demeaning. A cougar is a predator going around looking for young flesh. I’m certainly not like that.”
The actress continued: “But then, women are judged far more harshly than men. And, funnily enough, often by other women.
“If people think I look old enough to be his mum then let them! There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s one of the downsides, I suppose, of being in the public eye.
“No-one mentions an older man and a younger woman, do they? Nobody goes on about Rod Stewart’s wife Penny being nearly 30 years younger than him!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark is the all-new voice for Alexa for one day only.
Amazon has announced that the former ‘X Factor’ star, who is a self-confessed superfan of the Alexa gadget and has admitted to owning more than 30 of the devices, will be heard in place of the usual Alexa voice on Friday (01.04.22).
Customers can use a number of phrases to introduce the familiar Essex twang of the BBC Radio 2 presenter including ‘Alexa, who is Rylan?’, ‘Alexa, is Rylan your new voice?’ and ‘Alexa, ask Rylan for some words of wisdom.’
Alexa users will experience a unique response from Rylan that will brighten their day after the star confessed that it was his dream for his voice to be featured on the device.
Fans of the presenter will also hear the dulcet tones of the presenter with phrases such as ‘Alexa, good morning’ and ‘Alexa, I love Rylan’.
Rylan, 33, said: “All my friends and family know how much I love using Alexa everyday – whether it’s for cooking, controlling my smart home or calling my mum.
“It’s absolutely hilarious that I’m going to be hearing myself through Alexa – hopefully everyone else enjoys hearing me via their Alexa devices as much as I do!”
Meanwhile, Rylan recently revealed that he has got a new tattoo dedicated to the Spice Girls.
The star is a huge fan of the iconic girl group which featured Mel B, Melanie C, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham – and decided to get the phrase ‘girl power’ inked on his leg.
Rylan said on BBC Radio 2: “This week I had a tattoo done. I have had a tattoo on my leg – ‘girl power’. It’s real. It’s for the Spice Girls.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC will show Tom Parker’s episode of ‘Celebrity Pointless’ on Saturday (02.04.22).
The late Wanted singer – who died on Wednesday (30.03.22) aged just 33 after battling a brain tumour – had teamed up with bandmate Max George on the popular quiz show, and though their appearance wasn’t due to air until next year, producers have changed the schedules in order to pay tribute to the ‘Chasing The Sun’ hitmaker.
The paid make it through to the final round of the show, aiming to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity and Brain Research UK, but it is not known if they go on to win.
The move has the support of Tom’s family.
Tom’s wife Kelsey – the mother of his children Aurelia, two, and 18-month-old Bodhi – broke the news of his death on Wednesday afternoon.
She wrote on Instagram: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.
“Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.”
Max and the rest of The Wanted – Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, and Nathan Sykes – also paid tribute to their “brother”.
They said: “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his bandmates.
“Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi.
“He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.”
Tom announced he had been diagnosed with inoperable grade 4 glioblastoma back in October 2020.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Banjo still gets a “stream” of abuse over Diversity’s ‘Black Lives Matter’-inspired routine.
The troupe performed the dance on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ over 18 months and the 33-year-old choreographer admitted he is constantly bombarded with hostility over the politically-charged moment.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It happens all the time.
“I did this slot on ‘GMB’ [last week] to talk about how life-changing it was winning a BAFTA for the routine and I went on Twitter afterwards, and it was just like a stream of comments. The negative ones always cut through.”
But the abuse won’t stop the collective from performing the routine on their current ‘Connected’ tour, though the ‘Dancing On Ice’ judge admitted he always feels nervous about how audiences will react.
He said: “Every night, I go down and take that knee and there’s a little part of me that just kind of goes, ‘I wonder what’s gonna happen’. You just don’t know.
“We never got the opportunity to perform that routine in front of a crowd at the time because of Covid.
“We’ve never felt what it feels like. You can only guess what the audience may react to but you don’t know. To see an audience react to it is a completely different feeling.”
When Diversity performed the routine on ‘BGT’ in September 2020, broadcasting regulator Ofcom received over 31,000 complaints.
But Ofcom later backed Diversity and the message they wanted to send with the performance.
They said: “Diversity’s performance referred to challenging and potentially controversial subjects, and in our view, its central message was a call for social cohesion and unity.
“Any depictions of violence by the performers were highly stylised and symbolic of recent global events, and there was no explicit reference to any particular political organisation – but rather a message that the lives of black people matter.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall revealed the royal family voted for Rose Ayling-Ellis to win ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 74-year-old actress is known to be a big fan of the BBC Latin and ballroom show but she revealed on a visit to the set of ‘EastEnders’ with her husband Prince Charles on Friday (01.04.22) that she’s not the only member of The Firm to watch the programme, and they were big fans of the soap actress, who scooped the Glitterball Trophy last year with dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
Greeting Rose as “the ‘Strictly’ star”, Camilla said: “We were all voting for you, Rose. I don’t know how you did all those dances.”
Asked if Queen Elizabeth also watched the show, the duchess replied: “I think she does. She probably watched you.”
Rose admitted her conversation with Camilla was “mind-blowing”.
She said: “It was really funny because she’s a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing and she mentioned that she voted for me which is so lovely, and her grandchildren watch it.
“It is amazing, so lovely. I mean come on, it’s the Royal family voting for me, sometimes you forget how many people watch the show, I am mind-blown.”
The royal couple visited the Albert Square set while the cast were filming a special episode celebrating the queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and revealed themselves to be long-term viewers of the soap.
Gillian Taylforth, who plays Kathy Beale, revealed Camilla told her she used to watch her on the soap when it first aired in the 1980s.
The veteran actress said afterwards: “She said: ‘I remember Angie and Dirty Den, I’ve got a few more episodes to catch up on.”
And Natalie Cassidy, 38, who has appeared as Sonia Fowler for “29 years, on and off”, said Charles asked her how it had been to start working on the show when she was “so small”.
She said: “I just said sometimes it’s easier being 10, you don’t really know what you’re coming into, and we had a bit of a laugh and he was really, really lovely.
“Actually Camilla, although I didn’t meet and greet her, she actually came over and made a beeline to me to say: ‘I know you, you’ve been in it a long time haven’t you?’ so that was really sweet.
“They were very interested in all aspects and I think that is what’s amazing about them, they make every conversation seem fresh.”
The royal couple posed with the cast and crew for a photograph to mark the occasion, with Charles winning praise for giving his coat to Letitia Dean because she was cold.
