OHMYGOSSIP — A new dating show is coming to ITVBe.
‘The Singles’ Table’ is a six-part series, which is set to air this summer on ITV Be and ITV Hub, and will follow five women on a mission to find love, as they attend various summer weddings as guests on the singles table, talking to potential suitors.
ITV said: “‘The Singles’ Table’ – every wedding has one. We’ve all sat on one. Now our iconic Singles’ Table is popping up at weddings across the country in the hope of helping five single girls find the man of their dreams.
“Across one joyful summer of love, each of the six episodes sees our cast invited to a different stranger’s wedding by the bride and groom – keen for their own single mates to find ‘the one’.
“The girls join potential suitors on The Singles’ Table for some dining, dancing and drama, but once the bouquet is thrown and the carriages await – will they choose to see any of them again?
“Over the series they’ll be attending six very different weddings, giving viewers a hilarious and revealing insight into how Brits celebrate their big day.”
Managing Directors for programme-makers Initial, Katy Manley and Cat Lynch, said: “What could be a more romantic setting to launch a truly fresh dating show than at real-life British weddings.
“We’re excited not only at the prospect of seeing sparks fly across the Singles’ Table but also at the chance of stepping into the lives of six very different and diverse British couples on the happiest day of their lives.”
ITV Director of Reality and Acquisitions, Paul Mortimer, added: “The Singles’ Table is like all the best bits of a wedding day, a girls night out and speed dating fused into one exciting new dating format.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse is a terrible tap dancer.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ dancer – who is heading out on her ‘I Am Here’ solo tour later this month – insists professional dancers can’t “master all styles” of dance and one of her weaknesses is tap.
She said: “Ballet is very different to ballroom and Latin dance.
“Dance is really individual and I don’t think you can just master any style. I have a podcast and on every single episode, I learn a different style of dance. I was terrible at tap! Terrible! But I enjoyed Irish dancing. So, just because you are dancer, it doesn’t mean you can master all styles. Every dance has its own language and you have to put in the work to be able to do it. The body moves how the body moves.”
On what fans can expect from her upcoming run – which retells the story of her life – Oti told the Express and Star: “We will be bringing all of the craziness with a live band, live music and amazing dancers.
“The music will be as loud as I speak!”
The 31-year-old South African – who has been married to professional dancer Marius Lepure since 2014, who she met on the German version of ‘Strictly’ – is thrilled that her husband is involved.
She added: “The show is really about my life with everyone telling the story through song and dance. From everything we love about the UK, the musicals, the food, the streets, the countryside, then to Germany where we met and started dancing on the German version of ‘Strictly’ together and then all the way to South Africa and back. He is such a vital part of my life and so it is amazing that I get to share that experience with him.”
The ‘Dancing on Ice’ and ‘Masked Dancer’ judge will be bringing the “indigenous traditional dances” to theatres across the UK and Ireland, kicking off on April 28 in Cardiff.
She said: “Kwaito is a form of South African street dancing which is done with freedom that our nation naturally knows how to do,
“I will also be bringing indigenous traditional dances to the show too.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Pargeter has said that no-one’s job is safe at ‘Emmerdale’.
The 45-year-old actress has played former pub landlady Chas Dingle on the Yorkshire-based ITV soap since 2002 but revealed that she is only on a yearly contract and often wonders if her character will be written out in order to pull in viewing figures when a big anniversary approaches.
She said: “No one is safe. I’m on a year’s contract so every year I wonder, ‘Is this my last?’ It’s the show’s 50th anniversary this year. Do they need to sacrifice someone to pull in the audience?”
The former ‘Crossroads’ actress – who has children Lola, 16, and four-year-old twins twins Missy and Betsy with ex-fiance Rudi Coleano – also explained that when her character was forced to sell the famous Woolpack pub at the start of this year, it left her feeling “unsettled” about what would happen with her job.
She told Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column: “It was massively unsettling. I love being behind that bar. I get to chat to the cast and find out what’s going on in their lives. I know every inch of the place and you can guarantee the pub will feature in most episodes. I wondered what my role in the village was going to be. It was squeaky bum time. Will they find Chas a job? Will I have a job?”
However, soap bosses quickly installed Chas as the pub’s manager meaning that Lucy could continue in her long-running role and the soap star – who is originally from Nottingham – gushed about how being on the programme is like getting to work with her best friends.
She added: “It’s like going to work with my best mates. And I’ve built my life here, I’ve adopted Yorkshire as my home.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Jones has “bad mood swings” and her weight is “fluctuating” since her cancer diagnosis.
The ‘Love Island’ star underwent a full thyroidectomy after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May 2021, after founding a lump on her neck, and was given the all-clear at the end of last year.
However, the 23-year-old reality star has opened up about her weight gain and hormonal changes she has been grappling with since then.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I got the all-clear before Christmas…
“I think I’m just learning to adapt with my body and the hormones.
“I’ve got really bad mood swings, my weight is fluctuating, I’m trying to balance it.”
Demi recently took part in ITV’s ‘Strictly The Real Full Monty’, which sees stars strip off to raise awareness of cancer, and admitted it was “reassuring” knowing she was not alone.
She said: “‘The Full Monty’ was huge because everyone had gone through a similar thing or knew someone and it was really reassuring.”
Demi admitted that 2021 was a “mentally and physically” draining year and she was “beyond grateful” for the support she received.
Letting her Instagram followers know she’s cancer-free, she wrote at the time: “I’M CANCER FREE! I did it!
“I got my full body scan results back and there’s not a single cancer cell left in my body.
“It’s been such a difficult year mentally and physically for me with my surgeries and treatment but I’m beyond grateful for everyone’s kindness and support over this past year.
“I will continue to be an advocate for cancer awareness and all my love and strength goes out to those who continue to fight this awful disease, here’s to a healthy and happy 2022. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins was thrown out of an L.A nightclub for trying to speak to Leonardo DiCaprio.
The 41-year-old reality star – who shot to fame as a cast member on ‘TOWIE’ back in 2011 – revealed that that she met the Hollywood A-lister in a private members’ club but was hastily “thrown out” when she approached him.
She said: “Leonardo DiCaprio — I said hello to him and got thrown out of the club in LA. I mean, he looked at me and I looked at him back and all I said was hello. Next thing I know, I’ve been thrown out.”
However, the ‘Diva Forever’ star – who is known for exhibiting a diva persona in her television appearances as her alter-ego the GC – quipped that she is also a celebrity but will never go back to Soho House in West Hollywood and that they can “kiss [her] a***”
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre Column: “I thought, ‘You do realise I am famous as well. Thank you very much!’ I could never go back there again. It was just one of those moments. Well, they can kiss my a***.”
Gemma is currently on tour with her one-woman show ‘The GC’s Big Night Out’ and also reportedly spoke of how she was sacked from a job at Sainsbury’s after “saving someone’s life”, how she spent £22,000 on a fake elephant to go in her garden and told of how Madonna is her sprit animal while on stage at the tour’s opening night at the Opera House in Manchester.

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV have reportedly been plotting to launch a takeover bid for Channel 4 in order to create a “super channel”.
The British broadcaster told ministers it showed interest and wanted to make an offer, after the Government confirmed on Wednesday (05.04.22) that it would be privatising Channel 4 by 2024 with an estimated price of £1 billion.
ITV have taken advice from bankers including Credit Suisse and Robey Warshaw.
They will not be alone in wanting to buy the channel as bids are expected to come on from Sky, Discovery as well as Paramount.
A merger of the two would create a powerhouse as it would combine all the primetime shows and documentaries together into one hub such as ‘Love Island’, ‘Gogglebox’, ‘Dispatches’ and ‘Friday Night Dinner’.
One industry source said: “The best bet for the UK is that ITV and Channel 4 combine so the nation has one strong commercial public service broadcaster.
“It would ensure there is another large party other than the BBC that would continue to make British programming’ and would also be ‘a proper contender to the Americans.”
The source added: “A merger of ITV and Channel 4’s streaming services would create a much more substantial player in the digital space.
“It would double in size and be classed as a proper contender to the Americans.”
Channel 4, which is currently owned by the Government, had an annual programming budget of £660million before the pandemic.
More than 90% of its £1 billion annual revenues come from advertising. It has 28% of the UK TV advertising market whereas its rival ITV has 45%. The merge would have over 70% of the market to one company.
ITV, which is worth £3.3 billion, have not made a final decision, but they could still back out.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Coughlan knows she has played Clare on Derry Girls for “the last time”
The 35-year-old actress stars as teenager Clare Devlin in the Channel 4 comedy set during The Troubles – which is set to come to an end with its third series later this month – and admitted that saying goodbye to her character has been a “really emotional thing.”
She said: “I know I’ve played Clare for the last time. Although saying goodbye to a character is a really emotional thing, like a friend you’ll never see again.”
The ‘Bridgerton’ actress stars alongside Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell in Lisa McGee’s Northern Irish sitcom and teased that while the schoolgirls are “still a bunch of idiots”, the final series will show the “end of their innocence” as the characters continue to navigate their way during the conflict in the late 1990s and approach the Good Friday Agreement.
In a joint interview with her co-stars, she told The Metro: “They’re still a bunch of idiots. It’s the end of their innocence, in a way, but you’re not going to think: ‘Oh, wow, what a metamorphosis!'”
Meanwhile, Jamie-Lee – who takes on the role of wild child Michelle in the series – spoke of how “rewarding” it was to meet fans when the show was being filmed in her hometown of Derry.
She said: “Seeing kids from our schools and communities there, sometimes standing for hours in the rain when all they want to do is say hello and have a picture? That’s overwhelming and rewarding.”
However, Nicola went on to quip that she would rather just have the money generated from the merchandise.
She said: “There are mugs and socks with our faces on. I just want the money from it, if I’m honest!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Marsan dubbed con man John Darwin a “narcissist” who “lacked empathy”.
The 53-year-old actor – who takes on the role of real-life con man in ITV’s upcoming Easter drama ‘The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe’ – has labelled John as a “delusional ” man who thought he could outsmart everyone else.
Eddie,said: “He had delusions of grandeur. In a narcissistic way, he thought he was smarter than everyone else. That’s why he had the cojones to try this. He thought he could outsmart everyone else.”
The drama recounts the story of Hartlepool man John, who faked his own death as a canoeing accident to avoid bankruptcy and while he lived in a bedsit, his complicit wife Anne – played in the series by ‘Appropriate Adult’ actress Monica Dolan – told their sons their father was dead and collected a life insurance payout.
John was thought to be dead for five years and the former ‘Ray Donovan’ star went on to explain that the form of “toxic masculinity” found in his character is still common today.
He told The Sun Newspaper’s TVBiz Column: “He saw other people as merely two-dimensional and thought he was the only three-dimensional person in the world. But he underestimated people’s ability to see through him. That form of toxic masculinity is quite common nowadays. These kinds of men underestimate everyone else and think they’re not as clever as they are.”
Eddie – who is known for his roles as arrogant recluse Gilbert Norrell on ITV series ‘Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell’ and cynical driving instructor Scott in ‘Happy-Go Lucky’ – explained that he always plays “abusive” characters and quipped that he has no idea why producers always pick him to play “middle aged blokes” having a “mid-life crisis.”
“I always play characters who are psychologically deluded, narcissistic or abusive. It used to be that they were on the periphery of stories. Society was the norm, and they were outside it.
“But recently I’ve been playing these characters and they are among us now. The idea of a middle-aged man suffering from self-delusion and narcissism is quite prominent. I don’t know why they keep asking me to play these roles. Producers are obviously saying, ‘We want a middle-aged bloke having a midlife crisis with a healthy dose of narcissism. Let’s get Eddie Marsan’.”
‘The Thief, ‘The Thief, His Wife’ and the Canoe’ will premiere on Sunday 17th April on ITV and run over the course of four consecutive nights.

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden is to team up with Alan Carr for a BBC property show.
The 51-year-old star – who is best known for her role as a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – will reportedly join forces with the former ‘Chatty Man’ host, 45, after becoming “hot property” at the broadcaster following her stint on ‘I Can Hear Your Voice.’
A source said: “Amanda is hot property at the BBC right now. Her next big show is with Alan [Carr.] They created the concept themselves and pitched it. They will be seen doing up an amazing property in Italy and transforming it from a shell into a house of dreams.”
The insider went on to explain that the pair have an “amazing chemistry” on screen together and claimed that the show will be a “fun and fizzy” version of shows on Channel 4 such as ‘Location, Location, Location’, previously fronted by Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer.
The source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz Column: “Imagine Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer but fuelled by fizz and fun. It will be a must for fans of property and travel shows!”

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant is to star in ‘Macbeth’ on BBC Radio 4.
The 50-year-old actor – who is known for having starred as The Doctor in sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’ as between 2005 and 2010 – will now take on the in the title role of William Shakespeare’s play in the upcoming radio adaptation.
Alison Hindell, Radio 4 Commissioning Editor for Drama and Fiction, said in a statement: “’Macbeth’ is a part of great significance for any actor, but particularly so for Scottish players. As David Tennant makes a welcome return to Radio 4 audio drama we look forward to this performance with great anticipation.”
The classic tragedy – which was originally performed in 1606 – tells the story of Scottish army general Macbeth who is encouraged by his wife to kill King Duncan in order to take the throne.
David will be joined in the production – which is often referred to as simply ‘The Scottish Play’, owing to a superstition in the acting world that stems from a fatal stabbing which occurred during a fight scene in the play back in the 17th century – by BAFTA-winner Daniela Nardini, who takes on the role of his scheming wife.
The play marks a return to Shakespeare for the ‘Des’ actor, who has previously tackled the title role of ‘Hamlet’ for the National Theatre and back in 2011 starred in a major London production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ with former ‘Doctor Who’ companion and sketch show legend Catherine Tate.
Part one of Radio 4’s Macbeth will air on Saturday 23 April and coincides with the date Shakespeare’s birthday is traditionally celebrated.
The broadcast also precedes the 400th anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare’s First Folio, which will be marked in 2023.
‘Macbeth’ will air on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April at 3pm- Radio 4 and will stream on BBC Sounds.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lee Mack likes “tough” quiz shows.
The 53-year-old comedian is set to host new game show ‘The 1% Club’ – which sees contestants battle it out to win £100,000 by attempting to answer a question that only 1% of the country would know – and admitted that while is a fan of “tough” quiz shows, he is “lucky” to get a handful of questions right.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I like quizzes that are tough. I watch ‘University Challenge’ knowing that if I’m lucky I’ll get a couple of questions right and I’m more than happy with that because when you get it right you feel great!”
The ‘Not Going Out’ star went on to praise other game shows such as ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ before revealing that had he been able to get all the questions right on his new game show, he would have turned the presenting offer down.
He added: “Quizzes like ‘Millionaire’ are great, starting off fairly easy and yet towards the end most of us haven’t a clue what the answers are, which is handy otherwise they’d have to give a million pounds out each show.
That’s what I really like about ‘The 1% Club.’ The producers shared some questions with me and if I’d been able to get them all right, probably wouldn’t have done the show. But I quickly realised, if someone gets these right, they’re a proper brain box!”
However, the funnyman – who is also known for his appearances on comedy panel show ‘QI’ – explained that said that he decided to save any comedy in the game show until the end because “comedy can be difficult” for contestants facing tricky questions.
He added: “Comedy can be difficult at the best of times, never mind when someone is thinking about a difficult logic question, so I did make sure there were no jokes towards the end.”
‘The 1% Club’ will start on Saturday, 9 April at 8:30PM on ITV and ITV Hub.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Grahame had convinced nurses that she was “fine” just before she died.
The former ‘Big Brother’ star had struggled with anorexia for a number of years and eventually lost her battle with the eating disorder back in April 2021 aged just 38 and now her mother Sue has revealed that doctors sent her home from hospital hours before she passed.
Speaking on ‘BBC Breakfast’, Sue said: “She was blue-lighted to the local hospital in Dorset and she was there for two weeks. She had a BMI of 10, she was pitiful, and I went there every day to shower her, to dress her, to sit with her, while she ate, to take the load of the nurses, it wasn’t a specialised unit. Nikki managed to convince them, ‘I’ll be fine when I go home..’They’d already said ‘We can’t have you, you can’t make stairs’ so they let her go home and she died that night.”
The reality star – who became known for her uttering the catchphrase “Who is she?” during her time on ‘Big Brother’ back in 2006 – will be remembered as part of a tribute documentary set to air tonight almost exactly a year on from her tragic death and Sue noted that Nikki was never “happier” than during her stint on television.
She said: “’Big Brother’ saved her life because that was the healthiest and happiest she had been for those years. So when the doors opened and she heard the cheering, it was genuine, her tears. Going on ‘Big Brother’ was her dream and I’m really glad she did it, she deserved it.”
‘Nikki Grahame: Who Is She?’ is set to air Thursday (07.04.22) on Channel 4 at 9pm.
