OHMYGOSSIP — Fearne Cotton insists “nobody asks” her to appear on television anymore.
The 40-year-old star – who has appeared on the likes of ‘Top of the Pops’, ‘Celebrity Juice’ and ‘The Xtra Factor’ in the past – has claimed she lacks the confidence to appear on camera at this stage as she feels like her co-stars will always be “way more popular”.
Speaking to Will Young on her ‘Happy Place’ podcast, she said: “I’ve talked endlessly on different platforms about the fact that I’ve been sacked from I don’t know how many TV shows.
“Nobody asks me to do telly anymore, I don’t get asked.
“A couple of Christmasses ago when I was doing ‘TOTP’, the lighting guy – because I’ve worked with him since I was 15 – went, ‘Do you still do telly? What do you do these days?’
“I’m not confident enough to be on camera today. The person I’m presenting with is way more popular than me.”
Earlier this year, Fearne admitted she stopped doing some TV work because she found the reaction to being on the box “so overwhelming”.
Back in January, the radio presenter said: “I did have a tricky period where I had to reassess everything.
“Some of the other stuff I used to do, I’ve had to step away from for now, At the moment it feels nerve-wracking, a scary prospect so at the moment I’m doing things that feel safer.
“The reaction we get from being on TV … I found that so overwhelming that I started to dull myself down. I was diluting my personality because I was so scared of the reaction.”
The media personality previously took to social media to tell fans about her anxiety.
In April last year, she wrote: “Anxiety crept up on me as my head hit the pillow and I just couldn’t get into a deep sleep.
“Recently I have been sleeping so well, so last night was disappointing but I’m not going to let one bad night set me back. If anything it’s a sign I have more important work to do. More self inventory, more self compassion, it’s a life’s work.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell was left shocked at a “Paul Potts moment” during the new series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 62-year-old music mogul was stunned by a busker called Maxwell, who reminded him of English tenor Paul Potts, who won the first-ever ‘BGT’ series in 2007.
Simon said: “It was a real surprise. I had no idea he was going to sing like that.
“He was so shy and I was praying it was going to work out for him.
“It was very much like the Paul Potts moment.”
Simon admitted it was a really tough decision to not film the show last year amid the coronavirus pandemic, but he had to prioritise the contestants’ safety.
He added: “As much as I didn’t want to not make the show last year, we just couldn’t at that point, it would’ve been literally impossible.
“We had to stop it at the last moment. It was a difficult decision to make but it was the right one.
“I’ve got to be honest, because of what was happening at the time, which was the new variant [of COVID] had come out, I got really nervous about it.
“We were about two or three weeks out from auditions and I just thought, ‘We can’t do this, the risk to everyone is too high.’
“So it was tough, but I knew it was the right thing to do because it wasn’t like the show was never going to come back. We always knew it would come back this year and it would come round quickly, which it did.”
The 15th ‘BGT’ series – which will see Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon return as judges alongside Simon – will return on Saturday (16.04.22).

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant and Dec felt “a bit empty” without ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The TV presenting duo admitted it was “weird” not filming the show last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and as a result, it was “quite emotional” returning to the stage earlier this year to host the auditions.
Dec said: “It was really bizarre, because it has been an annual event for us. Every January, we’d come back from the new year and the first thing first thing we’d do was ‘BGT’ auditions. Just to not have that in the diary felt a bit empty and a bit weird.”
Ant added: “We missed the wonderful people that we get through those theatre doors. I missed the audience in the auditorium.
“That was big, because we’d done the auditions before we’d done ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’, so it was our first proper live audience for a while. It was quite emotional.”
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ stars admitted there were a number of emotional moments during this year’s auditions.
Ant said: “There were a few. We surprised somebody in the audience.
“He was surprised by his daughters and was asked to come on stage and perform that day. He thought he had just come to watch the show!
“He went away for an hour or two, rehearsed, and then at the end of that session came back and performed the song. That was very emotional.”
Dec added: “That was a tear-jerker! That’s what’s amazing about BGT is that you never quite know the next act if it’s going to have you in tears, in hysterics, floods of rage because it’s not as good as you’d hoped. You just never know what emotions you’re going to feel for the next act. That’s what’s so magic about it.”
The 15th ‘BGT’ series – which will see Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon return as judges – will return on Saturday (16.04.22).

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse “loved everything about” hosting ‘Romeo Duet’.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star enjoyed fronting her first ever show in front of a live studio audience, admitting it was fun trying not to look “super stressed” while presenting the show, and she ended up going home “so happy” after filming.
She said: “I love ‘Romeo Duet’. When I’m presenting or hosting, I always wanted something where I can connect with people and communicate and get to know them.
“I was getting to connect with them and that’s what I really wanted. It’s been a great experience.
“I loved being able to ask the contestants questions as well, when they came down, saying, ‘Why didn’t you come down?’ or ‘Do you have regret…’.
“Reading links and trying to do the whole thing, concentrating and to not look like you’re super stressed. I loved everything about it. I was so happy going home every night after every show.”
The ‘Dancing on Ice’ judge also loved working with the live studio audience on the new ITV dating show, admitting they became like her “co-stars”.
She said: “It was my first time hosting in front of a live studio audience. It was the best feeling. They were just so excited to be there. They couldn’t wait.
“The audience is such a vital part of the show as they’re saying, ‘Come down!’ because they can see both people – or they’re like, ‘Stay where you are’, or they’re confused. And when you’re doing your duet they are voting. In another way they became my co-stars. It was just so special and amazing.”
The dating show features singletons hoping to connect with other singletons via their mutual love of music and singing.
Oti added: “It’s a fun dating show that is crossed with music and singing. Contestants come on hoping to find love, and they also have a love for singing. It’s the perfect entertainment show for the whole family.”
‘Romeo Duet’ starts Saturday (16.04.22) at 7pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke and Dame Kelly Holmes will take part in this year’s ‘Cooking with the Stars’.
The ITV show made its debut last year when several celebrities took on one another in the kitchen while paired with a famous chef, and a new crop of household names will step up to the plate this year, including the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge and the Olympian, as well as This Morning’s Josie Gibson and ‘The Chase’ quizzer Anne Hegerty.
Anton will team up with chef Rosemary Shrager, while Kelly will join forces with chef Ronnie Murray, Josie will team up with restaurateur Tony Singh, and Anne and French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will aim to triumph.
Other stars who will be aiming to show off their culinary skills are Love Island’s Maura Higgins, TV medic Dr Ranj Singh, comedian Joe Wilkinson and DJ Woody Cook.
Maura will be patterned with chef Jack Stein, Korean chef and restaurateur Judy Joo will team up with Joe Wilkinson, restaurateur and TV personality Mike Reid and Woody will form a partnership, and This Morning’s Clodagh McKenna will join forces with Ranj.
Emma Willis and Tom Allen will return to co-host the second series of the programme – which was won by McFly’s Harry Judd last year – and she is hoping there aren’t as many accidents with knives as there were during last year’s first series.
She said: “Tom and I had so much fun last series and I’m looking forward to getting back into the kitchen.
“The pressure the celebs are under is real and once the competition starts heating up everybody wants to win, but I’m hoping there isn’t as much blood as last series!”
Tom added: “Last series was so exciting! Emma Willis and I have been polishing our frying pans in preparation – we have so much fun working together.
“The celebrities are being trained by some of the best chefs in the business and with the clock ticking it’s always tense to see if they’ll improve their cooking enough each week to measure up to the judges’ high standards.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Grahame’s mum cuddles her daughter’s teddy bear every night.
The former ‘Big Brother’ star died in April last year, at the age of 38, following a lengthy battle with anorexia, and her mum Sue has revealed she still cuddles the Pingu teddy that Nikki held when she passed away.
She shared: “I cuddle him every night now because actually it brings me a bit closer to Nikki.”
Sue has also kept hold of the dress that Nikki wore to the National Television Awards in 2006, when she won the Most Popular TV Contender gong.
She described the success as “the happiest day of her life”.
In the Channel 4 documentary ‘Nikki Grahame: Who Is She?’, Sue added: “I have never seen her more proud and happy as I did that night.”
Sue previously described the documentary as a celebration of her daughter’s life.
She said: “Nikki was so much more than a reality TV contestant and I am looking forward to celebrating her short life in this documentary.
“It will be tough, but Nikki was one special girl – kind and smart with the biggest heart – and I know [director] Jane [Preston] and Angel Eye [Media] will do her proud.”
Executive producer Ollie Durrant also described the project as a “fitting tribute to her legacy”.
He explained: “We are honoured to be making this important film with Nikki’s family and friends.
“She was an amazingly kind, caring person who despite her own struggles, worked tirelessly to raise awareness of anorexia and the exponential rise of mental health issues in society today.
“We hope this film is a fitting tribute to her legacy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fern Britton loves skinny dipping.
The former ‘This Morning’ host has relocated to Cornwall after taking a step back from her TV work, but she’s already been caught skinny dipping by some local residents.
The 64-year-old star – who split from husband Phil Vickery in 2020 – shared: “I saw some people on the cliff and thought, ‘Oh, b*****’.”
Fern has relocated to the coast in search of a quieter life. But the popular presenter admits that her new reality has taken some getting used to.
Fern – who used to have her own personal chauffeur – told the Daily Mail newspaper’s Richard Eden: “In the first month or so, I would walk out of the house waiting for a car to be there, because for ten years I had this wonderful driver who’d silently slink up outside the house or my work – or if I wanted to go shopping in the West End.
“For a while, I would walk out the front door, going, ‘Where’s the bloody car?'”
Meanwhile, Fern previously confessed to missing her “friendship” with Phil.
The presenter – who married the chef in 2000 – insisted they were the “best of friends”, but also acknowledged that their romance had run its course and that they needed to go their separate ways.
Fern – who has Winnie, 20, with Phil, as well as Grace, 25, Harry, 28, and Jack, 28, with her first husband – said: “We had a wonderful time. We were the best of friends. And I miss that friendship.
“But there comes a point when the children are substantially off your hands and you look at each other and wonder where you’re going to go from here.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Osman has quit ‘Pointless’ after 13 years on the show.
The 51-year-old presenter has decided to walk away from the long-running quiz and he’s now planning to focus more of his attention on his writing career.
A BBC source said: “Quiz fans and housewives all over the country will be gutted by this news. Richard has become a staple of the daytime schedule but sadly all good things must come to an end.”
Richard has relished his time on the popular quiz show.
But the presenter – who has hosted the programme alongside his friend Alexander Armstrong – is now looking forward to focusing on his writing.
The insider explained to The Sun newspaper: “Richard has loved every second of doing the show alongside Xander but he really wants to give his all to his writing career which has been an enormous success.
“His departure is completely amicable but he just does not have enough hours in the day to do everything so sadly something had to give. His literary career is going from strength to strength so he’s having to be slightly more choosy with what he does TV-wise.”
Richard intends to continue with his own show, ‘House of Games’.
But his decision to quit ‘Pointless’ is set to create some headaches for TV bosses.
The source added: “He will still be hosting ‘House of Games’ for the BBC.
“The headaches of what to do with his role long-term now begin. In the meantime, they’re going to rotate guest co-hosts behind the laptop, but there’s not heaps of time before filming begins so they’re trying to find the right people quickly.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise van Outen lied in order to land her dream role on ‘The Big Breakfast’.
The 47-year-old presenter started off as a weather girl on the iconic Channel 4 show – but she’s now confessed to lying about having taken a metrological course.
In her new book ‘A Bit Of Me’, Denise wrote: “When it came to going for jobs, I hadn’t lost my creative streak when it came to asserting my suitability for a particular role.
“I wasn’t shy about that, sometimes I’d even add things to my CV that I hadn’t done.”
Denise was willing to mislead the show’s bosses in order to further her own career.
The presenter – who subsequently hosted the show alongside Johnny Vaughan – explained: “What I did know was that this was a fantastic opportunity, Channel 4 was doing a big relaunch of the show, and that’s where I came in.
“As per, I went all out, fibbing about having taken a meteorological course and assuring them that I’d be able to write my own weather report, no one could ever accuse me of not being a trier!”
Denise also exaggerated her acting experience in order to land major film roles.
The actress – who has starred in numerous films and TV shows during her career – said: “There were times back in the day when I thought, ‘Right! What’s been shot in the last couple of years that I might feasibly have been in?'”
However, she knows that in 2022, it’d be impossible to get away with telling so many lies.
She explained: “I remember going up for a part in a film once, and adding a Roman Polanski film to my CV, one that I was never in.
“Of course, with Google and the internet, you can’t get away with that sort of thing anymore, but back then I was pretty comfortable bolstering my credentials where necessary.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Coughlan thinks the new series of ‘Derry Girls’ is a “real love letter to the fans”.
The 35-year-old actress – who plays Clare Devlin in the hit comedy series – has told Cosmopolitan UK magazine that she hopes fans will love the third season of the show.
Nicola shared: “It’s a real love letter to the fans. It was hard to get to this point because we were delayed so many times by COVID and so many other reasons. So getting to do it was a challenge … But I just hope that we’ve done the fans of the show proud because that’s what we all want so much.”
Louisa Harland – who plays Orla McCool – believes that the new series is the best one yet.
She said: “I think it’s quintessential ‘Derry Girls’, but it’s elevated … I think it’s probably the best series.
“We haven’t seen it, so we’re just imagining, but the scripts are truly brilliant.”
The Channel 4 comedy premiered in 2018, and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell – who plays the part of Michelle Mallon – feels “immensely proud” to have been involved with it.
However, the 30-year-old actress also feels sad to be saying goodbye to her on-screen character.
She said: “It’s three seasons of what I consider a phenomenal show, and a great representation of Derry and working class people. It’s something I will always be immensely proud of, but of course it’s sad to say goodbye to Michelle.”
Despite this, Jamie-Lee would love to reprise the role for a ‘Derry Girls’ spin-off.
Asked about the possibility, she replied: “I mean let’s be honest, I would take [creator Lisa McGee’s] phone call any day of the week about anything. But because every single character has so many layers to them and different personalities, the spin-off possibilities are endless.
“It would be interesting to see if that’s something Lisa is interested in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins’ fiance Rami Hawash has been rushed to hospital after suffering a “very serious” accident at work.
The 41-year-old TV star has taken to social media to share a photo of herself cuddling Rami, who is wearing an eye patch and has a painful-looking cut on the bridge of his nose.
Gemma – who is currently touring the UK – wrote on Instagram: “Glasgow to london No SLEEP. A break down in the car. but I made it back to you. Iur first week apart since dating …. I missed you.
“Also guys just before I left for my tour rami had a very serious accident on his eye and nose at work he needs an operation it’s been a really weird week leading up to my tour!!! (sic)”
Gemma announced her engagement to Rami in December, after the couple rekindled their romance during lockdown.
The loved-up duo initially tried to keep the news quiet because they were waiting for Rami’s divorce to be confirmed.
Gemma said at the time: “We can’t really come out and say anything yet because Ram was married before and his paperwork has not come through, so until that’s officially signed, we’ve not said anything.
“They’ve not been together for two years. I know her, she’s got a partner, she’s as good as gold. There’s a child involved, he’s only three, obviously I love him to death.
“But until that paperwork’s signed I can’t come out.”
Gemma – who first got engaged to Rami in 2013, before they split the next year – is also keen to have kids one day.
The TV star revealed she’s been seeking advice from her close pal Amy Childs.
Gemma said: “She was telling me that there’s certain days in the month that you’ve got to do this. So I basically appointed her to be the head of my pregnancy.”
