OHMYGOSSIP — Ella Vaday has landed a movie role.
The former finalist of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’, who finished as runner-up in the third series, is moving on to her next venture as she’s set to star in comedy flick ‘Sumotherhood’.
The film, which will be directed by Adam Deacon – the BAFTA-winning star of British indie dramas ‘Kidulthood’ and ‘Adulthood’ – will also feature a star-studded cast, including pop star Ed Sheeran, Danny Sapani, Jennifer Saunders and Kevin Bishop.
Ella told The Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “I was thrilled when I got this part. It’s incredible.
“I never expected it to happen. When you do an audition, most of the time you don’t get it.
“I’m a massive fan of Jennifer Saunders, and Ed Sheeran is one of the biggest songwriters in the world so I couldn’t ask for a better cast for my first film.”
The drag superstar has already filmed her scenes for the British action-comedy, which is set in London.
She added: “I play a drag queen and she’s a larger-than-life character that works at a club.
“She’s a bit flirtatious and sassy.”
Ella credits her success to her stint on the BBC show.
She said: “The show creates amazing opportunities. It’s absolutely fab.”
Adam recently described the movie as an “explosion of fun”, but admitted it also covers some “serious subject matters”.
He previously said “This film is going to be an explosion of fun with action and comedy at every turn, while also hitting some serious subject matters with raw emotion and harsh reality.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Reality TV stars Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks have joined forces with the UK’s leading frozen pizza brand Chicago Town to uncover what their different food preferences reveal about their personalities.
The two friends – who star together on E4 show ‘Pete and Sam’s Reality News’ after becoming pals on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – quizzed each other on their meal habits to find out if psychologist Lee Chambers and Chicago Town’s research was correct when it came to them.
Sam and Pete had to give their food preferences across 15 different food types, from the way they cook their Chicago Town Deep Dish pizza, to whether they would rather their steak rare or well-done.
Whilst the hilarious duo both share a love of Deep Dish pizza, they don’t share the same preference when it comes to how they like it prepared, with Sam gushing over a gooey microwave-cooked Chicago Town Deep Dish and Pete preferring his with more of an oven-baked crunch.
According to Chambers, Sam’s love for a gooey deep dish pizza means he is sentimental, easy-going and spontaneous, making him someone more likely to take risks.
On the flip side, Pete’s crunchy, oven-baked preference makes him assertive, headstrong, and conscientious. The golden crust of a crunchy Deep Dish notably symbolises the perfection that Pete strives for and his meticulous attention to detail. Pete’s perfection was a contrast to Sam, who preferred a saucy and gooey Deep Dish.
After discovering how is preference for a crunchy base relates to his personality, Pete, 33, said: “Yeah, that’s exactly like I am. Headstrong, know what I want.
“I prefer it crunchy, you’ve got to have a bit of bite to it.”
Discussing how his appetite for a doughy base represents his personality, Sam, 29, said: “The soft and gooey crust is in line with their life story as they don’t mind taking a risk, especially as the tomato sauce oozes and has the potential to get messy. I like a bit of mess! Get in my mouth and around my mouth, I have no problem with that.”
Amongst their other food preferences, Sam revealed he opts for his steak rare, meaning he’s someone who is extroverted, creative and excitable. Pete vehemently agreed with the notion that Sam is extroverted and excitable. Sam’s creativity was up for debate though, with Pete questioning whether his “creative process” with steak could be considered creative at all, as he just uses garlic and thyme to cook his meat.
Whilst Sam’s love and admiration for Pete was evident throughout the day, their friendship turned turbulent when Pete revealed he prefers his chocolate room temperature as opposed to straight from the fridge like Sam. Chilled chocolate lovers like Pete were revealed to be aspiring, cultured and farsighted whereas Pete’s, apparently abnormal, love for room temperature chocolate means he’s dynamic, collaborate and always on the go.
Explaining why what we like to eat unveils much about our personalities, expert psychologist Chambers said: “We don’t often look deeply into what and how we eat. However, the way we prepare and eat our food can say a lot about who we are and our personalities and this really comes to light with Sam and Pete. Whether you prefer a gooey Deep Dish or a crunchy Deep Dish, there is always something for you to learn about yourself from the plate in front of you.”
Discussing the campaign with Pete and Sam, Rachel Bradshaw – Marketing Manager at Chicago Town – added: “Working with reality TV personalities, Sam and Pete, was great fun and a really exciting way to bring the Crunch Vs Goo debate to the forefront. Our Chicago Town Deep Dish pizzas are loaded with delicious toppings and lashings of our signature sauce. How do you like yours – Crunch or Goo?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook is engaged to her jailbird boyfriend.
The 48-year-old soap star has confirmed that her boyfriend popped the question during a prison visit – but they plan to wait until he’s released before they tie the knot.
She shared: “I’ve got a big ring that was made for me, and I wore it into the jail and David said, ‘It was lovely but it’s not big enough’ so there is a bigger one coming.
“He has asked me to marry him but I told him to wait until he gets home. He asks me all the time, he even asked me at the jail. He didn’t get down on one knee or anything but he’s like, ‘We are getting married you know.'”
Danniella and David actually met years ago, before he went to prison.
And the former ‘EastEnders’ actor and David, 28, are hoping to eventually tie the knot in the Maldives.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I’ve known him for years. I met him in 2017 out in Spain and when we were both living out there and we got together out there and it was a tumultuous relationship – it was on off all the time.
“But we just stayed in touch and he went to jail early 2019 and he got nine years nine months. He’s home next year though, he’s got 11 months to go.”
David was sent to jail after he split from Danniella.
But they’ve subsequently rekindled their romance and Danniella confirmed they consummated their relationship before he was put behind bars.
She said: “We lived together in Marbella. I wouldn’t wait that long to see if he’s any good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague has teased a new house vlog after splashing out £12,000 to furnish her £4 million mansion.
The reality star, who took part in the fifth series of ‘Love Island’ and finished runner-up alongside partner Tommy Fury, revealed back in March that the pair had moved into their first home together after a three-year search.
The 22-year-old influencer, who has millions of followers on her Instagram account, shared a glimpse of her lavish Cheshire property and her plans to transform it into a dream home via her stories earlier this week.
The Pretty Little Thing mogul, who jetted off on holiday to Belfast yesterday (14.04.22) as a birthday treat for fellow Love Islander Stephanie Lam, took to social media where she shared a series of snaps that show an EasyJet check-in machine in one and Molly-Mae sitting next to Stephanie on the plane in another.
One snap also revealed the YouTuber editing the next instalment of her house vlog.

The previous videos showed Molly showcasing her swanky furniture and plans to “completely change” the shape and material of one sofa, admitting that the majority of her purchases were based on whether she could get them in “bouclé” fabric.
The young entrepreneur paid a visit to The Sofa And Chair Company in west London, to pick out her lavish furniture.
Whilst holding up one piece of fabric, which was a thick looped yarn in a cream shade, she told fans: “Today has consisted of walking up to every piece of furniture and asking if I can have it in bouclé.”
She then went on to choose a £4,500 sofa for her kitchen living space, which she already planned to make alterations to by “slightly” changing the material and shape.
Posting another snap of the piece, she added: “It kind of looks patterned here however we are having just a completely full plain bouclé material, it’s also being turned into an L shape!”
Molly-Mae has openly been documenting the transformation of her luxury property which she shares with her boxer boyfriend.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Vakili had a secret abortion at 21.
The 31-year-old pharmacist, who took part in the fifth series of ITV reality show ‘Love Island’, revealed that she carried out the procedure 10 years ago after getting pregnant from having unprotected sex.
Anna, who claims her parents banned her from attending sex education classes at school, said she was too young and wasn’t ready for a child at the time.
Speaking on her ‘Sisters in the City’ podcast, she said: “I feel really scared to open up about this, but I think it’s important to do it because I learnt from my own mistake, and if other people can learn from my mistake then it’s the best thing to come from this.
“When I was younger – about 21, I was having unprotected sex – I don’t know what I was thinking. I wasn’t thinking, and I ended up pregnant.
“Obviously I was really young and I wasn’t ready, and I had an abortion.
“At that age you don’t think what can happen and I have deep regrets that I did end up pregnant.
“I didn’t wish to be pregnant and have to get an abortion – I don’t like that. So if you can avoid that – do.”
Anna missed out on vital sex education at school because her parents didn’t sign a consent letter, an experience she recalls as “traumatising”.
She added: “Ever since then I’ve practiced safe sex and I’m now on the coil.
“In school the teachers sent a letter home for our parents to sign to say if it was ok for us to sit in sex education, and my parents didn’t sign it and it was the most embarrassing thing ever because the teacher took me out of the class when they did sex education.
“I was the only person, apart from one other Asian or Middle Eastern person. I’ll never forget that – it was so traumatising.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden will keep wearing racy outfits on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 51-year-old TV star – who sits on the panel of the ITV talent show alongside Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell – has previously sparked outrage for her daring fashion choices.
Amanda – who’s bold plunge neck dress worn during the 2017 semi-finals received over 663 Ofcom complaints, whilst her 2020 gown prompted a further 235 – insists she enjoys wearing latex and has no plans to tone down her style.
Ahead of the new series, which returns on Saturday (16.04.22) after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, she told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m thinking more rubber – I enjoyed wearing latex in the auditions, so I’m thinking more latex, more sweating in the lives.”
The ‘Wild at Heart’ star says her mother Judith supports her daring outfit selections.
Amanda added: “Mum said ‘Ooh, let them talk. You look better than girls half your age. When my mum was 48 she wouldn’t have dared wear a mini skirt, because she’s of the era where you wouldn’t dare get your knees out if you were nearly 50. Whereas I look at Kylie and J-Lo and think, well if she’s still doing it, I’m still doing it.
“Of course, I have fun on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – it’s the perfect opportunity to take risks. Times have changed and I don’t feel anyone should feel pressure to dress for your age. It’s all about body positivity and feeling good.”
Amanda previously quipped that her boobs need their own agent as they have been the centre of attention so much in the past.
She joked: “I am seriously thinking my girls need separate representation to me, because they are known on their own. They don’t need me, they’re going to go off and do ‘Piers Morgan’s Life Stories’ on their own next year!
“They’re going to do their own album, they’re bringing out their own autobiography – The Truth Behind The Bra!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tate thinks cancel culture is ruining comedy.
The 53-year-old comic believes that the the current climate means there is a “war on jokes” and thinks that stars have to be careful with their humour now.
Speaking on the BBC ‘Headliners’ podcast, Catherine said: “I think you can’t help but second guess yourself: we are in a climate where it’s like touch paper at the moment.
“Things can be, and often are, wilfully misconstrued. I don’t think there should be a war on jokes, I don’t think there should be a war on comedy – I don’t think there should be a war on culture.
“But most people know the guidelines between common sense and the hypersensitivity that can surround a lot of debate at the moment.
“It’s everyone’s turn at some point to have the mickey taken out of them, and that’s OK.”
The ‘Catherine Tate Show’ star says that her comedy had “never intended to offend” but she is unable to control how it is seen by audiences.
She added: “Comedy is subjective,
“It’s in the eye of the person who’s belly-laughing and I appreciate that.
“But I do stuff that I think is funny, it’s never intended to offend but, of course, you can’t be in control of that.
“I’m just saying it’s often a bonding thing. That doesn’t mean anyone has licence to go out and say things that are cruel and awful to people, that’s a different thing.
“I am just making people laugh. I think it’s right to push things beyond where we’re told it’s OK to laugh.
“Laughing is an involuntary action. You can’t start telling people [when] to stop laughing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rula Lenska has dropped a huge hint she will return to ‘Coronation Street’ this summer.
The 74-year-old star played Claudia Colby from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2018 to 2021, and Rula has now admitted she is keen to head back to the cobbles because she has always had a “wonderful time” on the show.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, alongside her former co-star Maureen Lipman – who plays Evelyn Plummer in the ITV soap – Rula said: “I would love to go back, I had a wonderful time. Not only because of being with Mo, but it was like a huge family.
“Unfortunately, the storylines I hoped would develop, i.e. between Mo and myself, didn’t happen or haven’t happened yet, but yes, I would love to go back.”
Maureen admitted Rula might even return to Weatherfield in the coming months, saying: “There is a chance in the summer that you might be back?”
Rula replied: “There is.”
Maureen then quipped: “If she’s good, they might let her back.”
After Rula departed the soap in 2011, producers opted to leave the door open on a possible return, and she was back on the cobbles in July 2018.
Should Rula return to ‘Corrie’, Maureen may be able to see her good pal even more.
The pair previously shared a flat together, and Maureen admitted the abode was “much more fun” when she was living with Rula.
She said: “It was much more fun when Rula was in it.
“We’d be barking with laughter, moaning and whinging and eating too much Wagamama.”

OHMYGOSSIP — David Walliams says “snobby” acts are no longer turning their noses up at ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The actor and comedian – who’s been a judge on the talent show since 2012 alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden – believes some of this year’s wannabes may have previously not considered trying out for the programme, but since the pandemic they have “relished the opportunity” to take part in such a show.
The 50-year-old star said: “I think some people who might have been a bit snobby about doing the show have come on this year because they felt like, ‘Well, the last year or so has been so tough, we need this. We would relish this opportunity to have this exposure, and have the chance of being at the Royal Variety Show.’ ”
David also admitted the vibe during this year’s auditions was “celebratory”, after last year’s series was axed over safety concerns due to the pandemic.
He said: “I think it’s pretty celebratory, because if you’re a performer, you’re out doing clubs, and pubs and things, you might not have had an opportunity to perform for a long time.
“So I could see it was quite emotional for people to be back on stage.
“Obviously, people are emotional to go on stage in the [London] Palladium, because it’s the home of entertainment in the UK, the likes of Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli have all been on that stage.
“There is something really magical about going on stage and 3,000 people are all giving a round of applause. It’s a wonderful feeling.
“Not everyone gets to do that. I mean, most people don’t. Most of us don’t, who maybe aren’t performers, get to experience that. So I think it’s kind of emotional and meaningful.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer “struggled” when her son was first born, because she couldn’t help but compare herself to other mums.
The 25-year-old reality star welcomed her son Santiago with her ex-partner Sammy Kimmence – who was was jailed for three-and-a-half years in July for scamming two pensioners out of almost £34,000 – in January 2021, and former Love Islander admits she was left riddled with self-doubt when she became a first-time mother.
Speaking in her role as an ambassador for BBC’s ‘Tiny Happy People’, Dani – who is the daughter of ‘EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer – told the BBC: “I honestly wasn’t prepared for the rush of hormones. It was a little bit hard for me at the beginning. I really did struggle,
“Are you doing ‘the parent thing’ right? Is everyone judging how you’re coping? Is the life you knew pre-baby gone forever? How can you meet other parents in the same situation?’
“I remember when Santi was born, all I did was compare, and I always used to think, ‘Why can’t I breastfeed?’ I really, really struggled with that. And I put so much pressure on myself.
“I shouldn’t have compared so much. I shouldn’t have looked online. I should have just enjoyed my baby bubble and just gone with it.”
Dani has been grateful to have the support of her parents, Danny, and her mum Joanne Mas.
She said: “The way they have been there for me is honestly just such a dream. There have been some long nights, if Santi’s not been well, where I really struggled and I’ve just needed to have a chat or a sleep in the afternoon. And they’ve been there for me.
“Knowing I’ve got them, I am blessed with that.”
