OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden has made it clear that “no one” can replace her on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 51-year-old TV star – who has been on the panel of the ITV talent show since its inception in 2007 – replaced Simon Cowell as the show’s head judge after the music mogul suffered a serious back injury in August 2021.
And as the contest returned at the weekend, Amanda – who is once again joined by Simon, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the panel – has made it clear that she is irreplaceable.
She told the Daily Star when asked who would cover for her: “No one. They can just go down to a three!”
Mentioning the pregnancy complications she had while expecting her daughter in 2012, she added: “Don’t forget, I came out of a coma to go back on to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. There’s no one who is taking my seat!”
The Heart Breakfast co-host admitted it’s a major feat that none of the judges have fallen out or been replaced.
She said: “It’s pretty incredible achievement, especially in today’s TV climate – for the same group of people to work together on the same show for so long and not fall out or be replaced!”
The weekend saw Amanda become the first judge to use the golden buzzer this series on hopeful Loren Allred.
After being wowed by her rendition of ‘Never Enough’ from ‘The Greatest Showman’, Amanda gushed: “That was just unbelievable, it was brilliant.
“I am absolutely shaking I can’t believe I’ve had this incredible opportunity to get you your moment to shine.”
Loren actually provided the vocals for Jenny Lind in the film.

OHMYGOSSIP — Asa Butterfield is in no rush to leave ‘Sex Education’.
The 25-year-old actor – who stars as socially awkward teen Otis Milburn in the hit Netflix coming-of-age series, who gives out sex tips to his high school peers – has insisted that while the show will have to reach its conclusion at some point, due to everyone getting older, he has no plans to quit for as long as he’s needed.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, he said: “Obviously, we are sort of getting older and there’s only so long people can play people in college or high school or whatever you want to call it.
“I am always surprised by the writers and what they come out with each season, so I really try not to kind of predict anything because I’m always wrong.”
The programme – which also stars Gillian Anderson as Asa’s character’s sex therapist mother Jean Milburn – first aired in 2019 and has had three seasons so far.
Asa said: “I don’t know how long they’ll want us to go.
“I know no one wants it to go on forever because it’s a coming-of-age story and people eventually have to come of age.
“You can’t just keep coming of age because then where’s the ending? Where’s the resolution? So ‘I don’t know’ is my answer. We’ll have to wait and see.”
He added: “I love the show and everyone involved – the cast and crew – and we have a lot of fun. So I have a great time and I’m not in a hurry to leave.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A special episode of ‘Doctor Who’ to mark the BBC’s Centenary will see the return of two former companions.
The Master, the Daleks and the Cybermen are all set to return later this year for Jodie Whittaker’s final outing as the Time Lord in the BBC cult classic.
However, fans will be most excited to hear that Janet Fielding is set to reprise her role as Tegan Jovanka – which she played from 1981 and 1984 – and Sophie Aldred will be back as Ace, the companion to Sylvester McCoy’s Doctor from 1987 to 1989.
Sacha Dhawan will return as the Doctor’s enemy The Master.
And Vinder (Jacob Anderson) and Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) are also set for a comeback.
Showrunner Chris Chibnall said: “Jodie’s final feature-length story contains a plethora of treats and surprises for audiences and fans, not least the return of two of the most beloved companions in the show’s history. They’ll be helping the Doctor fight on three fronts, against her deadliest enemies: the Master, Daleks and Cybermen, in one huge story!
For the BBC’s Centenary, we’ll be celebrating the past, present and future of Doctor Who, in a fittingly thrilling, epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor.”
Janet Fielding said: “In some ways it was a very different experience to what it was like when I finished recording in 1983, but in many ways it was very similar. It was so lovely to be a working member of the Doctor Who family again.”
Sophie Aldred commented: “It’s been quite a challenge to have such a big secret to keep, even from my family, and I couldn’t be more thrilled and excited to have been asked back. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I adored being part of the TARDIS team again.”
Written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Jamie Magnus Stone, the feature-length special will air later this year as part of the BBC’s Centenary celebrations, with further details to be confirmed in due course.
Following Jodie’s final episode, Chris is also bowing out to make way for returning showrunner Russell T. Davies.

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Mackintosh insists she’s “not the person she was” when she was on ‘Made in Chelsea’.
The 32-year-old star shot to fame on the E4 reality show in 2011 and is married to former co-star Hugo Taylor – with whom she has young daughters Aurelia and Sienna – but these days she’s better known for sharing her candid experiences of motherhood with her social media following.
Asked if she’s ever felt misconceived, Millie replied: “I don’t know, I guess I’ve just grown up quite a lot. I’m not the person that I was when I was first in the spotlight, from being on the show.
“So I think, hopefully, over time, people that follow me and follow my story can see that now through the way that I’m able to share more on social media, by being more open, they get to see a bit more about my journey and where I’m at now, versus if they just turn the TV [and think] ‘that’s what Millie’s like’ because that was over 10 years [ago].”
The heir of Quality Street confectionary quipped: “I’m in a very different place … not so much dancing on a table in a Chelsea nightclub [laughs].”
Both of the couple’s daughters were born via C-section and the influencer is keen to raise awareness and stop the “negative stigma” surrounding caesarean delivery.
Taking part in Metro.co.uk’s The Big Questions series, she said: “For me, I think there definitely is a bit of a negative stigma out there attached to having a C-section, which is so, so ridiculous and outdated, and it just really frustrates me.
“I’ve had two amazingly positive birth experiences … I know every birth is different and there’s lots of different reasons people have C-sections, so, I can’t speak for [others]. Mine were planned, which gave me a bit more control in the process.
“If other mums-to-be know they’re having a C-section and they’ve chosen to, you can actually request to have what’s called a natural, or gentle C-section, which is a kind of slightly slowed down process.
“The second time I actually watched my daughter be born where they lower the screen, and once she was ready to come out, it just took my breath away. It was amazing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Susan Boyle’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ audition has been voted the most iconic moment in the show’s history.
The Scottish singer, 61, rose to instant fame in 2009, after appearing as a contestant on the third series of the ITV talent show.
Susan – who is affectionately known as Su-Bo – left the audience completely gobsmacked after her rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from ‘Les Misérables’, and she went on finish second to dance troupe Diversity in that year’s series.
Research commissioned by headline sponsor of ‘BGT’, McVitie’s, ahead of the show’s hotly-anticipated return on ITV and ITV Hub this Saturday (16.04.22), has revealed the golden moments of the programme’s 14 seasons.
The survey, conducted by 3Gem, asked more than 2,000 Brits to vote for their favourite moment.
The show’s first-ever winner, Paul Potts, who serenaded the country with a powerful rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’ also made the top 10, placing fifth.
Other iconic moments included double act Ashleigh and Pudsey, who melted the hearts of the nation becoming the first ever animal act to win ‘BGT’ with their dancing dog routine.
They finished fourth in the vote, and George Sampson, who wowed the audience with his dazzling interpretation of the musical number ‘Singing in the Rain’, was sixth.
The show, hosted by Ant and Dec, has become a staple of Saturday night TV.
The new season of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ airs on Saturday (16.04.22) at 8pm on ITV.

OHMYGOSSIP — Three frontline workers are joining the ‘Casualty’ writing team.
The world’s longest running medical drama, which first aired in 1986, launched a competition as part of its 35th anniversary to find three frontline medical workers to join its shadow script team developing future storylines.
Working alongside ‘Casualty’, BBC Writersroom has revealed its winners.
Joining the team is full-time novelist Samantha Bacchus, who worked as a frontline medical worker for over 15 years, and has experience within maternity, A+E, and on the respiratory wards as both an Auxiliary Nurse and a Staff Nurse.
Writing duo Laura Griffiths and Chris Griffiths are also joining the team. Laura has worked for the NHS for more than 33 years, and is currently a District Nurse.
Chris began his career as a paramedic before retraining as an Anaesthetic Practitioner. Most recently, he has worked within the Resuscitation Team, attending traumas and training doctors and nurses in CPR.
Sarah Beeson, BBC Studios, Script Producer at ‘Casualty’, said: “We were hugely impressed by the standard of all the applications, but Samantha, Chris and Laura really stood out to us with their authentic creative ambition and clear passion for ‘Casualty’.
“We are extremely excited to now be working with them on their shadow scripts, and look forward to developing them as future ‘Casualty’ writers while learning from their fascinating true life experiences.”
Samantha said: “I am utterly thrilled to have this opportunity to work with the Casualty team to develop an episode – I have been a huge fan since the series began and it inspired my decision to enter nursing.”
Laura and Chris added: “We’re delighted to have this opportunity to work with the Casualty team; their enthusiasm for highlighting the challenges the NHS and its staff face daily is fantastic, and we really look forward to contributing our own voices and perspectives.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer has joked her 14-month-old son is “more intelligent” than her after he locked her out of her washing machine.
The former ‘Love Island’ winner had to seek help from a neighbour after Santiago – who she shares with her ex-partner Sammy Kimmence, who was jailed for three-and-a-half years in July for scamming two pensioners out of almost £34,000 – put the child lock on her device.
She said: “So my child is a little bit more intelligent than I am.
“He literally the other day, child-locked my washing machine and I don’t even know how you can do that. I was honestly raging.
“And I’m pulling all the manuals out.
“I had to knock on my neighbour’s door and went, ‘Babes, I can’t do a wash’. And she come in and she fixed it for me.”
Dani also revealed Santi has “just started to walk”.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I feel like from zero to one has been such a transition for me and like this is a whole new ball game now.”
Dani recently admitted she “struggled” when her son was first born, because she couldn’t help but compare herself to other mums.
The star – who is the daughter of ‘EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer – said: “I honestly wasn’t prepared for the rush of hormones. It was a little bit hard for me at the beginning. I really did struggle,
“Are you doing ‘the parent thing’ right? Is everyone judging how you’re coping? Is the life you knew pre-baby gone forever? How can you meet other parents in the same situation?’
“I remember when Santi was born, all I did was compare, and I always used to think, ‘Why can’t I breastfeed?’ I really, really struggled with that. And I put so much pressure on myself.
“I shouldn’t have compared so much. I shouldn’t have looked online. I should have just enjoyed my baby bubble and just gone with it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Lawson wants to return to ‘Coronation Street’ alongside Beverley Callard.
The 62-year-old actor – who appeared on the cobbles on and off between 1989 and 2018 – wants his character Jim McDonald and his on-screen wife Beverley’s alter-ego Liz McDonald to reunite on the ITV soap, but he fears Jim wouldn’t be able to return to the cobbles because he is “an old beast from a different age”.
He said: “I would love for the McDonalds to reunite. But I am not sure the writers would know what to do with Jim.
“He is an old beast from a different age and his conception of political correctness would be non-existent. I am not sure how he would fit into ‘Corrie’.”
Charlie admits the only way he could see a path back for Jim is if he was with his son Steve McDonald, played by Simon Gregson.
And he admits his on-screen lad – who has played Steve since 1989 – nearly quit ‘Corrie’ during his early days on the show.
He said: “I think the only way Jim would be back is with Steve.
“I know Simon found it very hard. He is still there, bless him – and he very nearly wasn’t.
“He nearly had enough of it in the first few years.
“It is very difficult when you have 20 million viewers. Simon will tell you there were periods when he did not like what he was doing.
“In those days we only had four channels. So if you were a star in ‘Corrie’, everybody in Britain knew who you were and you were in the newspapers every day.”
Charlie admits Beverley became a mother figure to Simon during a period when he was late on more than one occasion.
He added to The Sun newspaper: “I let Bev do most of the lecturing. She was instrumental as he went through a time of, ‘Oh dear – you’re late again.’
“I was forever saying to him, ‘If you can’t go out all night and turn up on time, then don’t be doing it.’ ”
Simon has previously admitted he went through a stage of being late for work, or not even turning up at all.
Speaking in 2014, the 47-year-old said: “I’d go through a bottle of Scotch at four or 5am after the pub.
“I was spending all my salary going out or on cars. Sometimes I’d be two hours late for work. Other times I’d not be there at all.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Bonneville, Jack Lowden, Dominic Cooper and Charlotte Spencer are to star in new BBC One drama ‘The Gold’.
The drama will tell the story of the infamous break in at the Brink’s-Mat security depot near London’s Heathrow Airport in November 1983, when six men inadvertently stumbled across gold bullion worth £26 million.
The theft was the biggest in world history at the time, and the disposal of the money resulted in the birth of large-scale international money laundering.
‘The Gold’ is inspired by extensive research and interviews with some of those involved in the events.
Tom Cullen, Emun Elliott, Sean Harris, Ellora Torchia and Stefanie Martini will also star in the six-part series.
Tommy Bulfin, BBC Commissioning Editor, said: “The fact that we have assembled such a talented and exciting ensemble cast is testament to Neil’s incisive interrogation of one of the most infamous robberies in British history and the remarkable events which came in its wake.
“And to have the brilliant Aneil Karia join fresh from his Oscar win is the icing on the cake.
“The BBC One audience are in for a real treat when this hits the screen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paige Sandhu dropped her ‘Emmerdale’ script and gasped in shock when she read about her character’s big finale.
The 25-year-old star has teased fans they can expect some dramatic scenes and a “big secret” to be revealed in tonight’s (14.04.22) episode, which will add “another dimension” to her evil, serial killer character Meena Jutla.
When speaking about Meena’s big finale on Thursday night, she said: “I always imagined it would go a certain way, but it’s so much better than that. It’s just so dramatic and there’s one thing that’s going to come out tonight where I actually dropped my script [and gasped] ‘I can’t believe it.’
“This is a big, big secret that I think the audience will love and be really exciting and just adds another dimension to Meena, Meena’s relationship with her sister and the whole storyline.”
Paige admitted Meena – who is the younger sister of Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) – has been an “absolute dream of a character” to play, and she couldn’t have written her any better.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “It’s just been a delight. I feel like ‘Emmerdale’ just went into my brain and saw my dream character, plucked her out and put her on a page. She’s just an absolute dream of a character.
“She gets to go crazy, wild and then you see moments like last night when she was on the stand, and she’s an incredible actress. It’s just been a dream.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bosses of a new Sir David Attenborough documentary are to present a “gentler” version of the notorious Tyrannosaurus rex, claiming the ferocious predator has received “a bad rap”.
‘Dinosaurs: The Final Day’, which will tell all about the last days of the dinosaurs before their extinction around 65 million years ago, aims to reframe the reputation of the T-Rex by showing the dreaded beast’s softer side.
David – who is known for fronting natural world documentaries – will come face-to-face with the dino through the use of CGI in the BBC One show.
Director Matthew Thompson told The Sun newspaper: “Predators often get a bad rap on TV, as they’re shown as eating machines – as if that’s all they really do.
“We want to show different sides to the creatures and come up with some storylines that are a little bit different and a little bit gentler.”
Helen Thomas, executive producer, also wanted to steer away from the stereotypical image of a T-Rex, which is often seen in films like ‘Jurassic Park’, where the carnivores are constantly on the hunt for meat.
She said: “Predators tend to just fight all the time and we wanted to show them pooing.”
The 90-minute special – which is set to air tomorrow (15.04.22) at 6:30pm on BBC One – will see 95-year-old David come together with a team of paleontologists in a prehistoric graveyard and study the calcified remains of the dinosaurs who were wiped out by an asteroid.
They also shed new light on the cataclysm that happened at the end of the Cretaceous Period, the third and final of the Mesozoic era.
