OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Fantasy Football’ looks set to be revived.
The David Baddiel and Frank Skinner-fronted show, which aired on BBC Two from 1994 to 2004, is set to make a comeback on Sky, with a pilot due to be filmed in the coming weeks, and it is expected to be co-hosted by comedians Matt Lucas and Elis James.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “‘Fantasy Football’ is one of the most iconic football shows ever and there’s been a hugely vocal demand for its return for several years.
“Sky believe their version can do it justice and eventually spark a full-on series.
“It will be very much in the mould of the original with a few modern tweaks.”
The programme saw celebrities compete against one another as “managers” of their very own fantasy football dream team.
Guests included the likes of ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sean Bean – who is a big fan of Sheffield United – and TV presenter Dani Behr, who previously dated Manchester United star Ryan Giggs.
Angus Loughran also appeared as the show’s resident statistician, known as Statto.
He wore a dressing gown and pyjamas and provided the guests with facts and figures about their teams.
The set was decorated to look like a person’s living room, with Frank and David sat on one sofa, while their celebrity guests sat on another as they discussed football as well their dream teams.
Speaking previously about the idea for the set, David explained: “We said, ‘Let’s build a set that’s like our house.’
“Frank had got chucked out of his flat in London by his girlfriend and he couldn’t go back to Birmingham because he’d bought a house with his wife, who he was divorced from.
“He was basically homeless, so I offered him a room in my flat.
“Over the course of the entire time I lived with him, I never put Frank’s rent up. He became a TV star, started doing huge tours, earned loads of money, and it was always £40 a week!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Kyle is returning to TV with a new show, three years after his namesake programme was cancelled by ITV.
The presenter has not been back on TV since ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ was canned in 2019 following the death of guest Steve Dymond, but the 56-year-old star is now returning to screens with a nightly talk show for newly-launched network TalkTV.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: “I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed it until I stepped into the studio and felt the lights.
“Presenting live TV is almost like a drug, it hooks you in and I just love the format.
“I can’t wait to make my own mark on TalkTV with my own brand new show that, I guarantee, will get everyone talking … you can expect straight talking, big opinions and star bookings, of course.
“If they’re making waves in the press, in politics, in showbiz or sport, they will be on.”
‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ ran from 2005 until 2019, when it was axed by ITV following the death of Steve just days after he appeared as a guest.
After the tragic news, Jeremy released a statement sending his condolences to Steve’s friends and family.
It read: “Myself and the production team are all utterly devastated. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve’s family and friends at this incredibly sad time.”
In the aftermath, Jeremy admitted he felt so low he couldn’t even “leave the house or even open the curtains”.
He returned to work last year, hosting a show for talkRADIO, but the new TV show will be his first small screen venture since ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’.
More details of the new programme are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Jeremy follows in the footsteps of both Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, who have both signed big-money deals to join the network.

OHMYGOSSIP — ­Oti Mabuse will perform a poignant waltz with her husband Marius Lepure during her first tour.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star, 31, is kicking off her first run of live shows, and she’s featuring her longtime partner Marius, 39.
The couple are expected to share a particularly romantic moment during the shows as they perform a “heart-wrenchingly beautiful” waltz together.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The two of them are just electric on stage. The frisson is off the chart. You can’t keep your eyes off them.”
The ‘I am Here’ shows opened in Cardiff, Wales on Thursday night (28.04.22).
Oti and Marius met in Germany and they married in 2014. They now live together in London.
The South African dancer quit the hit BBC dance show back in February after spending seven years working as a professional on the series.
Her tour had been announced before she confirmed plans to leave ‘Strictly’, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Oti recently admitted professional dancers can’t “master all styles” of dance, and said she is a “terrible” tap dancer.
She explained: “Ballet is very different to ballroom and Latin dance.
“Dance is really individual and I don’t think you can just master any style. I have a podcast and on every single episode, I learn a different style of dance.
“I was terrible at tap! Terrible! But I enjoyed Irish dancing. So, just because you are dancer, it doesn’t mean you can master all styles.
“Every dance has its own language and you have to put in the work to be able to do it. The body moves how the body moves.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin suffered a nasty head injury while filming the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions.
The TV host, 46, needed medical attention at the side of the stage after smashing a coconut against his forehead.
During the show, Ant grabbed a coconut and attempted to crack it open with his hands before slamming it into his face,
His presenting partner Declan Donnelly, 46, pointed out the stunt had left Ant with a bloody gash before they called in medics to help.
Dec told his pal: “You’ve cut your head on a coconut … You’re going to have to (get it bandaged) to stop the infection.”
Ant was then seen having a large bandage wrapped around his head by a medic.
The wounded star protested, saying: “This is very extreme for a little tap on the forehead. When do I change this (bandage)? When I get home?”
As he wrapped the bandage around Ant’s head, the medic told him: “Yes, a new one every day for three weeks,” which left the star in fits of giggles.
After the dressing was complete, Dec then joked: “‘I tell you what though, you might be able to do it (crack the coconut) now. You’ve got some padding!”
Ant then joked: “I won’t be able to do it now! That will open the wound, that will!”
He then returned to the stage and continued to bash his head against another coconut.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is back on TV for a 15th season, with Ant and Dec returning as co-hosts alongside judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sara Davies feels “very special” to have been Aljaž Škorjanec’s last ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner.
The ‘Dragon’s Den’ star was partnered by the 32-year-old professional on the 2021 series of the Latin and ballroom contest and after he recently announced he won’t be returning to the BBC show, the 38-year-old entrepreneur admitted their time together feels even more special.
Asked if it felt special being Alijaz’s final partner, she said: “I most definitely felt very special for that. And actually, I spent the day with him and Janette [recently] and I’d been to watch their show twice over the weekend and it was just lovely watching him and even though there were thousands of people there in that auditorium, he made sure he picked me out in the opening dance.
“And every chance he’d blow a little kiss! I felt like he was dancing the whole show just for us, it was magical.”
Sara admitted she was aware Alijaz was planning to leave before he made his announcement.
She told HelloMagazine.com: “I knew about it. It’s something he’s premeditated for a long time and it is part of his life plan.”
Meanwhile, Sara – who has sons Oliver, eight, and Charlie, five, with husband Simon – has teamed up with Hasbro to launch ‘My First Monopoly’ and she thinks it’s the perfect game for families to play together because there is so much it can teach young children.
She said: “I think as a parent it weighs heavy the responsibility of the fact that you’ve got to teach your children and bring them up in the right way. But then it’s quite often difficult to have the tools to do that.
” And often I’m just preaching about things and it’s not meaningful to them. Whereas they don’t want me to preach at them about money and organising money and how the way the world works. I would never think to be talking to them about buying properties and trading and how it works at this age because it just feels too advanced and grown up. But ‘My First Monopoly’ makes it really accessible.
“And it’s not just the money, it’s the fair play. Because it’s one of those games where you can’t cheat, and it’s been really interesting watching the dynamic between them when they’ve played. We used to do this when we were kids and we would play against my Mum and Dad, as soon as Dad was looking like he was winning, we’d all gang up on him a little bit! And so it’s been really lovely seeing that competitive angst but then the collaboration side of it as well.”

OHMYGOSSIP — TV presenter Richard Hammond has joked he’s going through a reverse “mid-life crisis” as he’s swapped his flashy sports cars for pick-up trucks and Land Rovers.
The former ‘Top Gear’ host was known for having a substantial collection of fast motors, but he’s now sold most of them off.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Richard explained: “Am I having a mid-life crisis? The archetypal, stereotypical thing is buying a sports car and I’ve got rid of most of mine.
“I mostly drive a pick-up truck or Land Rover now. So I think, yeah, maybe I am. Men do – we evaluate things.”
Richard previously fronted the BBC motoring show alongside Jeremy Clarkson and James May, before the trio left in 2015, and they have since joined forces to work together on ‘The Grand Tour’ for Amazon Prime Video.
Richard previously cheated death in a number of terrifying crashes, including a 2006 ‘Top Gear’ stunt which went horribly wrong when the super-car flipped.
The TV star suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for two weeks, but he went on to make a good recovery.
He has two daughters, Izzy, 21, and Willow, 18, with his wife Mindy, 56, and insists his days of crazy stunts are over.
Richard added: “Mindy never says no to my doing dangerous things because I’ve never asked her. I just wouldn’t do it now out of respect for her and the girls.
“I don’t want to risk taking myself out of their lives because we all have a lot of fun together and I wouldn’t want not to be there to fulfil that role.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall has promised to fight to make sure women can still access Hormone Replacement Therapy, amid reports of shortages across the UK.
The TV presenter, 54, has spoken openly about her own struggles with menopause and has been determined to shine a light on the subject to help others.
Now, Davina is preparing to release her second documentary on the subject and has insisted she plans to dedicate her life to making sure women can be given the treatment they need.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I think this is going to be my life’s work now. It’s frustrating, but it feels like we’ve gone a long way in the last year in terms of public knowledge and willingness to do something about it …
“I’ll be doing this as long as it takes, I feel like it’s really important, I think it’s the most important thing I’ll ever do.”
The former ‘Big Brother’ host spoke about her own journey in a Channel 4 documentary,’Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and the Menopause ‘ last year, and she’s now preparing to return to TV with a new show which will highlight on the shortages of HRT drugs.
The follow-up is titled ‘Sex, Mind and the Menopause’ and will also delve into the results of a Channel 4 survey, which suggests many women face losing their jobs as they battle menopausal symptoms such as brain fog.
In an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, Davina recently explained she had experienced brain fog herself, saying: “When I became perimenopausal at work I didn’t want to talk to anyone about it …
“I was doing a live TV show called Stepping Out and I was forgetting the names of contestants and making mistakes on the autocue, which I’d never done before.
“One day, the producer came into my dressing room and said, ‘Are you okay? You don’t seem yourself’, and I said, ‘Oh, I’m fine.’ Then, when she left, I just cried. I thought, ‘What’s happening to me?’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Channel 4 has won the rights to show England’s matches in the UEFA Nations League, European Qualifiers to UEFA Euro 2024, and international friendlies.
The broadcaster will air six live England games this year – the first time live coverage of the men’s national football team will have featured on the channel – beginning with the Three Lions’ game against Hungary on June 4th, and followed three days later with their match away at Germany on June 7th.
The deal means that all England matches will be shown live on free to air television until 2024.
Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon said: “As a life-long committed football fan I am personally so delighted that we have these matches on the channel which further reinforce our reputation as a top quality sport broadcaster having been named Sports Network of the Year at this year’s British Sports Journalism Awards.”
England’s match against Italy, who they lost to in the Euro 2020 final last year, on June 11th will also be shown, as will the returning three fixtures when Gareth Southgate’s men face Hungary, Italy and Germany on June 14th, September 23rd and September 26th respectively.
Channel 4’s Chief Content Officer Ian Katz said: “After bringing some of the biggest sporting moments of last year to the nation, I’m delighted that Channel 4 will be airing so many mouth-watering England matches on free to air television.
“This deal shows Channel 4 can compete for some of the biggest properties in sport and will bring substantial new audiences to our award-winning slate of original programming.”
The matches in the UEFA European Qualifiers in 2023 are yet to be determined, with the draw scheduled for October 9, 2022.
England’s UEFA Nations League matches to be shown live on Channel 4:

OHMYGOSSIP — Spider Nugent is returning to ‘Coronation Street.’
The eco warrior – who appeared on the cobbles between 1997 and 2003 – was initially introduced as the nephew of legendary character Emily Bishop and original actor Martin Hancock is thrilled to be returning to the ITV soap 25 years after making his debut.
He said: “Having the opportunity to walk back onto the cobbles is fabulous, I’m so excited to be seeing a lot of old friends and picking up what Spider has been up to. I’ve always wanted to come back at some point and it just felt like this is the right time. I’m eternally grateful to Iain for the opportunity.”
During his time on the soap, Spider – whose real name was Geoffrey David Nugent – struck up on on/off relationship with Toyah Battersby and the pair left the Street in 2000 for a new life in London.
The relationship failed and the pair split up, with Spider moving to Peru and Toyah leaving for Liverpool only to move back to Weatherfield to be with her family back in 2016.
Meanwhile, Spider – who was last seen visiting Emily after she had been attacked by serial killer Richard Hillman in 2003 – carried out charity work in Peru and was joined by his aunt back in 2016 following actress Eileen Derbyshire’s decision to step back from the show.
‘Corrie’ boss Iain McLeod teased that Spider’s return to the soap will serve as an “enthralling new story” for his former flame – played by Georgia Taylor -which could potentially “ruin her life forever.”
He said: “Martin is a fabulous actor and Spider is a character with real heritage, and affection from fans. His return heralds an enthralling new story for Toyah, who will be embroiled in a mess of guilt and secrecy when Spider arrives. Will he be her saviour or the thing that ruins her life forever?”
Scenes featuring Spider’s return to ‘Coronation Street’ are set to air from July 2022.
