OHMYGOSSIP — Lady C would only return to ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ for a “significant amount” of cash.
The 72-year-old socialite – whose full name is Georgia Arianna, Lady Colin Campbell – took part in the 15th series of the jungle-based reality show back in 2015, but left on medical grounds, and she admits she only did it for the paycheque.
She said: “I accepted them in 2015 because I had no interest in doing it for anything except the money. I found the experience extremely ­disagreeable, so it’s one I’d not be in a rush to repeat except for good money.”
The Ant and Dec-hosted survival show – which is normally based in Australia – was forced to relocate to Gwrych Castle in North Wales during the COVID-19 pandemic, but is set to return for an ‘All Stars’ version in South Africa.
And Lady C claimed she would only sign up again if the price was right.
She told The Mirror: “I’d do it in Wales if they paid me £5million. I’d do it in South Africa if they paid me a bit less. It would still have to be a significant sum of money, ­otherwise I’m not interested.”
‘I’m A Celebrity: All Stars’ is set to air on ITV later this year, and although memorable contestants such as ‘Loose Women’ star Stacey Solomon – who was crowned Queen of the Jungle back in 2010 – and ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ alum Caitlyn Jenner, who reached sixth place back in 2019, are reportedly wanted for a comeback, Lady C admitted she would not be happy to see her former fellow campmates Duncan Bannatyne or Tony Hadley return because they are “nonentities.”
Asked if she would like to see the former Spandau Ballet frontman and ex ‘Dragon’s Den’ investor back in the jungle for the spin-off show, she said: “They’re all nonentities!
They may be entities in their own world, but they are really nonentities generally, and quite frankly not one of them has a decent personality, so why would any of them be invited back? That’s the question I’d ask! There are genuinely interesting people they could ask, like [tennis champion] Martina Navratilova, who is a genuine celebrity and has ­genuinely interesting points of view!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay Blades used to live amongst rats as a tot.
The 52-year-old TV star – who is known for being a crafting expert on BBC restoration series ‘The Repair Shop’ – returned to his childhood home in Stoke Newington, Hackney, north-east London as part of Channel 5’s new documentary series, ‘There’s No Place Like Home’, on which he revealed that because his mother was abandoned by her father when he was a baby, he was brought up in impoverished conditions.
He said: “When I was born my mum came to live here with my uncle. My mum got pregnant with the man who contributed towards my birth and he left her high and dry. Took all her money from her, said he was going to promise her this and that, and he didn’t, he just disappeared. The time for my mum must have been quite desperate I would say.
“There was loads of rubbish everywhere, there was rats.”
Jay’s new show with Channel 5 comes just months after he starred in BBC documentary ‘Learning to Read at 51’,which saw the once-illiterate star tackle the written word after years of being unable to read.
On Tuesday (03.05.22), the star received an MBE for services to craft at Windsor Castle, and upon collecting the prestigious honour from Price Charles, eh urged fans to consider a future of crafting with sustainability.
He said: “”It’s all about sustainability, it’s all about teaching the next generation as to what they should be doing and what they can do, because some people think craft isn’t accessible to them. I want craft to be accessible to everybody, from the poor side of town to the rich side of town, so everybody can access it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Comedian Judi Love wants to expand her acting career and is hoping to nab a role in ‘Line of Duty’.
The 41-year-old stand-up wants to land more “serious” acting gigs after loving her role as Chidi in the BBC drama ‘Noughts + Crosses’, and she has put it out into the world that she’d love to join the cast of the award-winning cop drama, and is even keen to make it onto the big screen.
Writing in her OK! Magazine column, she said: “Watching myself on-screen for the debut episode of the BBC’s ‘Noughts + Crosses’ last week was a surreal experience, but it’s inspired me to delve further into serious acting.
“Being a comedian, you rarely get to show that side of yourself to the world – but now I’m itching for my next big action movie! Or, ‘Line of Duty’ producers, you know where to find me!.”
The 2021 ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant is currently in Glasgow filming the second series of ‘Noughts + Crosses’.
She added: “I absolutely adored being a part of the first series and I’m already having a double amount of fun the second time around.
“The cast is great and I had a brilliant time with Richard Madeley – he is a legend.”
Elsewhere, the ‘Loose Woman’ star – who has been on the panel since 2020 – spoke about the return of fellow panellist Brenda Edwards, who took a break from the show following the tragic passing of her son Jamal, and hailed her for the work she does to keep the 31-year-old music entrepreneur’s memory alive.
Judi said: “My dear friend Brenda Edwards re-joined ‘Loose Women’ panel last week for the first time since the tragic death of her son, music entrepreneur Jamal.
“I am truly inspired by the passion she exudes for the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust, which pledges to keep her son’s legacy alive by targeting homelessness, helping struggling youngsters to achieve working apprenticeships and providing mental health support.”
The founder of SB.TV., the platform that helped launch the careers of the likes of Ed Sheeran and Jessie J, was found dead by his mother on 20 February. Jamal had suffered a sudden heart attack after coming home late from a DJ set.

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Bird has landed the lead role in Channel 4’s new apocalyptic sitcom, ‘Everyone Else Burns’.
The former ‘Inbetweeners’ star – who is best known for playing Will McKenzie in the hit E4 comedy series – will star as David Lewis in the new coming-of-age series about a hyper-religious family.
His wife Fiona will be played by ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ star Kate O’Flynn.
The six-partner follows David as he attempts to work his way through the church ranks to become an Elder, while his wife is “ostensibly unlikely to deviate from her own dogmatic moral compass.”
The programme has been hailed as “a subversive, authentic and bitingly funny exploration into what it feels like to balance faith, family and identity in a world that could end tomorrow (but probably won’t).”
The pair’s children, 17-year-old daughter Rachel and 12-year-old son Aaron, will be played by Amy James-Kelly and Harry Connor, respectively.
The series is directed by ‘Ghosts’ helmer Nick Collett and is produced by Molly Seymour.
Filming is already underway in Manchester.
Channel 4’s Head of Comedy, Fiona McDermott, and commissioning executive, Laura Riseam, said: “Jax Media have made some of the most iconic comedy of recent years and we are so delighted to be working with them, Universal International Studios, Oli and Dillon on a project they are so passionate about.

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Crouch is joining the panel of TV talent show ‘The Masked Dancer’.
The former footballer, who was known for his celebratory dance moves on the pitch, has signed up to take part in the second series of the ITV show.
He’s replacing Mo Gilligan, who worked as a judge on the first series, and he will appear alongside ‘Strictly’s Oti Mabuse as well as Jonathan Ross, and Davina McCall.
Peter said of his new role: “The show is a firm favourite in our household and when asked I jumped at the chance to take part.
“I am competitive and I’m currently scrolling through friends’ socials looking for those tell-tale dance moves.
“Another plus is by being on the panel my social media, family and friends won’t be constantly speculating that I’m hiding behind one of the masks.”
Mo is believed to be returning for guest appearances during the series, and he’s backed Peter as his replacement.
The comedian said: “I love being a part of the Masked Team so I’m gutted to be missing most of the series this year as I’ll be working in the US.
“But I’ve got the perfect sub to take my place. A legend on and off the pitch and one of the nicest guys in the industry, Crouchy knows a thing or two about fancy footwork, we’ve got this.”
The show is a spin-off of singing series ‘The Masked Singer’, in which stars compete for the title wearing costumes that disguise their identities.
‘The Masked Dancer’ follows the same format but with stars showing off their best moves in a bid to win.
It debuted last year and is slated to return to ITV later in 2022.
Peter was previously rumoured to have been behind one of the costumes on last year’s edition of ‘The Masked Singer’.
However, the singer who was Tree was later unveiled as another former footballer, Teddy Sheringham.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Robinson has quit ‘Countdown’ after a year.
The 77-year-old TV presenter filmed the final shows of her £500,000-a-year job earlier this year, after becoming the sixth presenter of the daytime show and the first woman to take the helm when she took on the role last year, but she now wants to “enjoy” spending more time with her grandchildren and at her New York apartment.
She said: “I have had a blast – we have taken the ratings up and transformed the guests too.
“We no longer have northern newsreaders in Dictionary Corner – we have had a raft of top celebrities.
“But I have made up my mind to quit the show. I only signed on for a year and I have helped them out by doing about 40 shows more than my contract.
“I am moving on because I’ve got a lot going on – grandchildren, a big garden, an apartment in New York – and I want to enjoy them. ‘Countdown’ has taken up more of time than I thought it would.”
Anne admitted it was “intense” filming the show, and the sessions took up “quite a chunk” of her time.
She added to the Daily Mail newspaper: “It is great fun but it is intense. I go up [to Media City in Salford] and we do 15 shows in three 11-hour days.
“I’m built to last so I don’t really mind, but it does take up quite a chunk of my time.”
But Anne has also admitted she can do an anagram “at twice the speed” she could last year since hosting the show.
She added in a statement: “I hope too I’ve encouraged TV bosses to realise that not all women at the wrong end of their 70s are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks.
“In fact the genius of ‘Countdown’ is that it’s a brilliant way to keep the brain exercised. I run 5km most days of the week.
“And I can now do an anagram at twice the speed I could this time last year.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Hewer thinks it would “confuse the audience” on ‘Countdown’ if Carol Vorderman returned to the show as the main presenter.
The 78-year-old TV presenter – who fronted the Channel 4 game show from 2012 to 2021 – isn’t sure it would be a good idea for Carol, who previously co-hosted the show from 1982 to 2008, to take up position in the main seat because it might be “confusing” having her and Rachel Riley, who currently co-hosts, on the same episodes.
He said: “I don’t know whether there would be a sort of conflict in a way because both she and Rachel did the same job. So I don’t know.
“I think she’s a very popular woman, but I would have thought that it would slightly confuse the audience, which is a very faithful audience, [with] some people watching it for years and years.
“I just think that there might be – people might be a bit confused.”
Carol – who was in charge of the letters and numbers on the show, the same job Rachel does now – is said to be wanted back on ‘Countdown’ to replace Nick’s successor Anne Robinson, who has quit the show after a year.
The 61-year-old star has said it would be “an honour” to return to the programme, but she appeared to distance herself from a return to the programme full-time, wishing the person who replaces Anne “all the love”.
Nick believes Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett could be the perfect candidate for the job.
He told RadioTimes.com: “He’s very popular, a pretty smart guy.”
‘Pointless’ co-host Richard Osman has also been linked to the vacant role, but he has distanced himself from the job and suggested former ‘Match of the Day 2’ presenter Colin Murray should be given the gig.
He tweeted this week: “I keep reading I’m the favourite to be the new Countdown host. But there are 3 problems.
1. I just gave up a show I love because I have no time.
2. @susiedent and I are mortal enemies.
3. They should give the job to @ColinMurray (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam ‘Gatsby’ Blackwell has returned to the UK for “life-changing” surgery.
The 33-year-old reality star – who is known for appearing on ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – had been over in the US visiting his mother and former co-star Nikki Blackwell, but he was forced to return early for surgery when a hernia and acid reflux left him unable to eat or drink
He said: “I would have still been in LA but the reason I came home was to have surgery I’ve been suffering with a hiatus hernia acid reflux for a few years now but it got to the point where I couldn’t eat food drink liquids at the same time without it coming back up. (sic)”
Liam – who is also best friends with former co-star Lydia Bright and is known by his nickname “Gatsby” – went on to explain that the stomach surgery he is about to undergo should change things for the better, but admitted he is “not looking forward” to the six-week recovery process.
Alongside a picture of himself in a hospital bed, he wrote on Instagram: “Imagine eating a meal being thirsty and not being able to drink a glass of water with it or the food you’ve just eaten will come back up. Also, the burning taste of acid in your mouth most mornings. This surgery repairing my stomach hiatal hernia will hopefully be life changing for me. not looking forward to the next 6 weeks on a liquid / soft food diet so any tips from people who have had this surgery it would be much appreciated x” (sic)
Gatsby concluded his post with a comment that read: “Swipe to see who has flown thousands of miles to look after me in my 2 month recovery”, and a second photo revealed that his mum Nikki – who appeared on the show until 2017 before leaving Essex for a new life in Los Angeles – had returned to be by his side.

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Burton was “worried” about her ‘Silent Witness’ comeback.
The 65-year-old actress starred in the lead role as forensic pathologist Sam Ryan in the BBC crime drama from its first episode in 1996 up until 2004, and she will return to the show for its 25th anniversary series later this year.
But Amanda was apprehensive about the comeback in case Sam was “on [her] last legs.”
She said: “I was a bit worried that it might have been one of those things where [she’d return as] some sort of ‘on your last legs’ detective walking across a beach or wearing an old tweed coat … being hauled out of some sort of dementia, or whatever!”
However, the former ‘Waterloo Road’ star eventually agreed to make a comeback when it was explained to her that Sam had remained active in her field in the years since she departed the show.
She said: “The fact that she was very much active and have been working… that really made me want to come back.”
Amanda admitted she wasn’t hesitant at all about her comeback, and even joked that it came as a surprise to herself and co-star Emilia Fox, who has starred as Dr. Nikki Alexander since 2004.
Asked if she deliberated about her comeback, she said: “No, quite frankly. Emilia and I did a photo shoot together about four years ago, for the Radio Times and we were laughing about it, sort of, ‘Yeah, right, that’s never gonna happen!’ ”
BBC bosses attempted to keep Amanda’s return to the show under wraps, but their efforts were almost ruined when a crowd of fans spotted her filming in Liverpool.
Producer Nick Lambon said: “We were trying to keep Amanda’s involvement completely secret and suddenly 200 people turned up for three days to watch us filming and wandering around. I don’t really know how BBC publicity managed to keep quiet!”
However, Emilia added that the photos didn’t give much away and that the incident was just “amusing.”
She said: “We were papped, but [the photos] didn’t really say anything very specific, it was very amusing!”
‘Silent Witness’ is set to return to BBC One later this month.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gaby Roslin wants to host a “naughty” TV show.
The 57-year-old presenter – who became a household name fronting ‘The Big Breakfast’ on Channel 4 alongside Chris Evans from 1992 – wants to get return to live television, and she is keen to provide viewers with “escapism” following the pandemic.
She said: “In a dream scenario, I really want to do a daily live TV show, an early evening programme that’s a bit naughty. I think with coming out of the pandemic, and everything happening in the world at the moment, we need a bit of escapism. There needs to be more programmes that make people laugh and feel good. Entertainment TV is a bit safe at the moment, and that’s a huge shame.”
The former ‘Children in Need’ presenter – who has been married to publisher David Osman since 2013 and has daughter Amelie, 16, with him as well as Libbi-Jack, 21 with her ex-husband Colin Peel – admitted she has been “very lucky” in her career so far, but she still claims to be 33 years old because “everyone is obsessed with women’s ages”.
She said: “All I ever wanted to be was a TV presenter. I just wanted to make people laugh. I’ve always been the person who wanted to natter to everybody and make them happy! I would do live TV all through the day and night. I’m obsessed with my job, and the opportunities are expanding all the time. I’ve been very lucky with my career and don’t take any of it for granted. What I have learned, though, is everyone seems to be obsessed with women’s ages, so I tell everyone I’m 33 – even my kids. It’s just a bit of fun!”
‘The Big Breakfast’ – which was also presented by West End star Denise van Outen and former ‘Capital Breakfast’ host Johnny Vaughan during its latter years – has not aired since 2002 and while there are no known plans for a 30th anniversary celebration, Gaby revealed she is still very close with Chris.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Nobody has said anything. I have no idea if they’d even want to wheel us out in our Zimmer frames. But Chris and I are still very good friends!”
