OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Walker has confirmed his final ‘BBC Breakfast’ show will be on May 17th.
The 45-year-old star is departing the show after six years to take on a role as the Channel 5 News anchor, and today (03.05.22) he told viewers he only has six shifts left.
Speaking to his co-host Sally Nugent on ‘BBC Breakfast’, he said: “You know you keep asking me when I’m going? Well, I can tell you now, officially.
“May 17 is my last day – so two weeks today.
“If you discount this one, it’s only six [shifts left]. Six more three o’clockers and I’m out of here.”
Dan also thanked all the viewers who have sent him “lovely messages” since he announced his BBC departure.
He added: “The other thing to say is, thank you to everybody who sent so many lovely messages.
“And one thing I have realised, because lots of people want to chat to you about this programme. It means an awful lot to a lot of people.
“It’s reminded me how special this show is, and how much everybody who watches it loves it. So, thank you very much to everyone who’s come up and said some lovely things.”
Dan recently revealed he turned to former football manager Sir Alex Ferguson for advice after announcing his BBC exit.
He said: “I’ve had a long chat with Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s the first time I’ve seen him for a while and he looks very well.
“He’s given me career advice, which was lovely. He was talking about the move to Channel 5 and talking about life and accepting the next challenge.
“When he was moving to clubs, St Mirren, Aberdeen and all those sorts of things, it’s good to get advice from good people around you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Hardwick and her wife would “love” to have another baby together.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress – who is married to Kate Brooks, a producer on the ITV soap – welcomed son Teddy into the world in October 2020 after IVF treatment.
The couple chose the donor to be his biological father, and Michelle, 46, carried their son while Kate, 39, donated the egg.
Pondering the future, the soap star told OK! magazine: “We’d definitely love Teddy to have a brother or sister.
“And if we’re lucky enough, fantastic – for him as well, not just for us.”
The actress – who plays Vanessa Woodfield on the show – also revealed the proud parents are keen to meet their son’s biological dad in the future.
They chose the father after researching potential candidates, including their characteristics, family life and values.
Michelle added: “When Teddy is 18 he can find out who his dad is and we’d massively back him.
“I’d love to meet him just to say, ‘Thank you so much for allowing us to be parents and giving us the most beautiful little boy.’ ”
Michelle has previously called out some of the horrific homophobic abuse she and her partner have been subjected to, and she once had to call the police over some nasty messages she received online.
She once said: “It’s the good and the bad, because there’s some not-very-nice people on social media, as we all know. But that’s just part of it.
“People could say, ‘Well, come off social media’. But then I think: ‘Well, there’s only one or two people who are like that, and then there’s quite a lot of others who are very, very lovely’.
“So why should I? I tell myself that I think they’re bored, they’re not that malicious. I always think to myself, it could be your bank manager, it could be the person who works at your local florist.
“It’s probably not, but it could be. That is the thing, nobody knows. A couple of years ago it was that bad that the police had to be involved.”
Michelle was told to die in the horrible messages, but she praised the police for being “fantastic”.
She added: “They just wanted me to die and things like that. They didn’t mention because I was gay or anything like that. But the police were fantastic.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Roache still enjoys “a little bit of what’s bad” for him after turning 90.
The ‘Coronation Street’ legend – who has played Ken Barlow on the cobbles since the very first episode aired on ITV in 1960 – celebrated the milestone birthday last week, and he insisted the secret is finding a “balance”.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I know what’s good for me. But I’ll have a little bit of what’s bad for me – because you should enjoy your life – but then I’ll compensate.
“I try to eat as sensibly as possible. But also the big thing in life is enjoy it.”
The soap veteran revealed he’s still “in very good health”, and he has urged people to be measured with their fitness regimes.
He added: “People go to the gym everyday and jog everyday and they diet all the time. I believe in enjoying life in balance.
“My work involves standing most of the day. Even at home I stand a lot. On top of that I play golf, which I enjoy. I’m in very good health. I feel good. My dieting, again, is all balance.”
Bill has repeatedly set himself the goal of still appearing on ‘Corrie’ when he’s 100, and he’s only got a decade to go to hit that milestone.
He said: “Someone said to me, ‘Look, Bill, you’re in the Guinness Book of Records, you’ve got the MBE, you’ve been in ­ ‘Coronation Street’ for over 60 years, what else is there?
“I said to him, ‘I would like to be the first centenarian who is still cast in an ongoing drama’.
“That’s my aim, to be 100 and still working on ‘Coronation Street’. While they want me and while I can do it I’ll continue to do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr is set to host a new Agatha Christie documentary series.
The 45-year-old comedian is a huge fan of the legendary crime writer, and he has signed up to front upcoming three-part travel show ‘Alan Carr’s Adventures With Agatha Christie’ as he looks to retrace her steps.
As quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column, he said: “I genuinely can’t wait to film this series.
“Whether it’s this year’s star-studded Hollywood remake of ‘Death On The Nile’ or reruns of David Suchet’s ‘Poirot’ on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I just can’t help getting drawn into Agatha Christie’s world.
“I still get just as excited as when I picked up ‘The Murder At The Vicarage’ in a second-hand bookshop on a caravanning holiday in Devon all those years ago.”
Christie set many of her books around the UK, and Alan will travel across the country to delve into her world.
Meanwhile, the TV presenter is keeping his options open on screen as he previously admitted he would love to appear on ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
announced in January that he and his husband Paul Drayton had gone their separate ways after 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, and the comedian is now setting his sights on the E4 series.
He said: “I would do ‘Celebs Go Dating’. It’s my favourite show.”
Alan has admitted Paul was the first boyfriend he ever brought back to see his parents because he “loved him”.
He explained: “I had partners before, but my Paul is my first boyfriend that I brought home to see my mum and dad, because I loved him and I didn’t care if my mum and dad said, ‘Get out’.
“It was worth doing that.”
Alan announced in January that he had made the “difficult decision” to part ways with Paul.
A spokesperson said: “After 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton would like to announce they are separating.
“They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways. We request that their privacy is respected at this sensitive time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse has suggested she’s “not done” with her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ journey.
The 31-year-old professional dancer quit the BBC One Latin and ballroom show earlier this year after seven years, and has since gone on to be a judge on rival shows ‘Dancing on Ice’ and ‘The Masked Dancer’, while she’s also the host of the new dating show Romeo and Duet’.
However, the South African choreographer has seemingly claimed she hasn’t ruled out returning to ‘Strictly’.
In an interview with WalesOnline, she said: “‘Strictly’ has been everything to me and has given me this amazing platform that I have. No, I’m not done – it still has a place in my heart.”
Announcing her departure from the dancing competition, she wrote on Instagram in February: “Never easy to say goodbye. I have been part of the most amazing TV show, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time.
“Lifting the glitterball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers! You are my family and I adore you all forever.”
Oti insisted it’s “not for [her]” to say if she will return for future series of ‘Strictly’.
Asked if she would be “gutted” if she “didn’t have time” for the show this year, Oti replied: “Everybody keeps asking me. It’s not for me to say.
“‘Strictly’ is such a big machine and no one is bigger than that show. To touch anything around ‘Strictly’ is such an honour and it will always be who I am. For everyone who’s on it and part of it on and off screen, we all truly love it.”
Oti previously explained there’s a “process and a protocol” to follow before her ‘Strictly’ future is decided.
Asked if she’ll return for the next series, she said: “I don’t know yet. There will be an announcement made by ‘Strictly’, not just about me, but there’s a process and a protocol.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Kilbey has given birth to her third child.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star – who has daughter Penelope, six, and son Hunter, four, with partner Daniel Harris – announced in January that she was pregnant, eight months after suffering an ectopic pregnancy.
The 34-year-old beauty wrote alongside a mirror selfie of her showing off her bonny bump on Instagram: “6 Months Baby. Baby Harris Due in May.”
And this week, the mother-of-three took to the social media app to announce the arrival of their baby boy, who they’ve named Jagger James.
She captioned a snap of the newborn and his siblings: “Meet Our Surprise Arrival…. Jagger James,” along with a blue love heart emoji.
The arrival of the couple’s new addition comes after Cara revealed last May she had been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after suffering from an internal bleed as a result of the ectopic pregnancy, which is when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the womb.
She wrote at the time: “I’ve been quiet on Instagram recently…
“Last month I found out I had an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured and caused an internal bleed, so was rushed into theatre for an emergency op… (sic)”
Cara revealed her latest stint in the medical facility was due to kidney stones.
She wrote: “Now I’m back again, but this time with kidney stones.
“Think I’m overdue a holiday.”
In March 2015, she tragically suffered a miscarriage but fell pregnant with firstborn Penelope later that year.
She said at the time: “I was so nervous up until the 20 week scan. I’ve been trying to relax and enjoy my pregnancy but there’s always been a niggle of worry.
“Now I’ve got past that point and everything is perfectly healthy, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can start getting excited.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Philip Olivier is set to become a father for the fifth time.
The 41-year-old star – who is best known for starring as Tim ‘Tinhead’ O’Leary in the iconic British soap ‘Brookside’ – and his partner Amy Virtue only welcomed their fourth child, a little girl called Renée, into the world in September, and now they’ve announced they are due to become parents again.
Sharing a snap of Renée and their sons, Oscar, Sunny Ray and Phoenix, with two sonograms on Instagram, the ‘Benidorm’ actor wrote: High five, here we go again.”
Their little girl was also wearing a cute romper with the words: “I may be little but I’m going to be a big sister” emblazed across it.
The Liverpudlian called Amy “superwoman” after she gave birth to 10lb 3’ouncer Renée.
Announcing the arrival of their baby girl, Philip wrote at the time: “Then there was 4! Welcome to the Renée Olivier. Born 24th September weighing 10lb 3oz. Well done @olivierbrothers you are superwoman.”
Meanwhile, the TV star recently admitted he would return to ‘Brookside’ in a “heartbeat”.
Philip described playing Tinhead on the Liverpool-based soap – which ran on Channel 4 between from 1982 to 2003 – as the “best years” of his life as he praised the show’s creator Sir Philip Redmond.
He said earlier this year: “They were the best years of my life. If it wasn’t for Sir Phil Redmond, if it wasn’t for ‘Brookside’, I wouldn’t have had the career I’ve carved for myself.
“In a heartbeat I would go back.”
The ‘Hearts and Minds’ star praised the series for “always” being “ahead of the game” and labelled it “such an honour” to be part of Phil’s life, while referencing his work creating the likes of ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘Grange Hill’.
He said: “What Phil has done – not just ‘Brookside’, ‘Grange Hill’, ‘Hollyoaks’ – all the jobs he has created in Liverpool.
“People really don’t know the mastermind that is Phil Redmond and it’s such an honour to be a part of that guy’s life.”
Philip added that ‘Brookside’ – which featured the first pre-watershed kiss between two women and the first openly gay character on a British TV show – holds “a special place” in his heart.
He added: “If he were to ask me back in ‘Brookside’, of course I would do it. It holds a special place in my heart.”
And the actor revealed locals still call him “Tinhead” – a role he first played aged 15 – when he’s out and about in Liverpool.
He said: “When I’m going around the city and around the world, people are still calling me Tinhead. When I started when I was 15, I never would have thought I’d be 42 and people still call me Tinhead.”
Phil recently teased there could be plans for a ‘Brookside’ return.
Speaking at the launch of a ‘Grange Hill’ film, he said: “I’ve also got all the old ‘Brookie’ crew and the ‘Hollyoaks’ gang saying they would love to be in it so who knows, if we’re going to do ‘Grange Hill’ this year, perhaps we’ll go to ‘Brookie’ next and ‘Hollyoaks’ the year after that – who knows?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Robinson has branded rumours of a feud between her and ‘Countdown’ mathematician Rachel Riley “nonsense”.
The 77-year-old game show host has just announced she is stepping down from the Channel 4 puzzle show in the summer, after only a year, and while she barley spoke to co-presenter Rachel and Dictionary Corner’s lexicographer Susie Dent due to the “tight” filming schedule, Anne has shut down claims the pair are locked in a rift.
She told the Daily Mail: “The way that it’s filmed is so tight that … we don’t have time to talk to each other.
“Between shows we have a ten-minute turn around to get changed. We can go for almost a whole run without doing more than waving to each other from the end of a corridor.”
The former ‘Weakest Link’ said of the gossip: “I’m not saying I would go on holiday with Rachel Riley, but she is brilliant
“Absolutely honestly, I do admire her – she is really, really good at what she does, as is Susie Dent.
“Look, Rachel has just come back from having a baby and she is standing throughout and faultless, whereas I get to sit down.
“She is noisy, yes she and Susie both are – they are a formidable pair those two.”
Anne – who took over the role from Nick Hewer in 2021 – insisted she was leaving ‘Countdown’ to spend more time with her family.
She said in a statement: “I’ve had a blast hosting this wonderful show. And I stayed longer than I signed up for. Now it is time for an older woman to take the reins.
“I hope too I’ve encouraged TV bosses to realise that not all women at the wrong end of their seventies are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks.
“In fact the genius of Countdown is that it’s a brilliant way to keep the brain exercised. I run 5k most days of the week.
“And I can now do an anagram at twice the speed I could this time last year.
“But I have grandchildren, a large garden and a home in New York, all deserving more of my attention.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady C would only return to ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ for a “significant amount” of cash.
The 72-year-old socialite – whose full name is Georgia Arianna, Lady Colin Campbell – took part in the 15th series of the jungle-based reality show back in 2015, but left on medical grounds, and she admits she only did it for the paycheque.
She said: “I accepted them in 2015 because I had no interest in doing it for anything except the money. I found the experience extremely ­disagreeable, so it’s one I’d not be in a rush to repeat except for good money.”
The Ant and Dec-hosted survival show – which is normally based in Australia – was forced to relocate to Gwrych Castle in North Wales during the COVID-19 pandemic, but is set to return for an ‘All Stars’ version in South Africa.
And Lady C claimed she would only sign up again if the price was right.
She told The Mirror: “I’d do it in Wales if they paid me £5million. I’d do it in South Africa if they paid me a bit less. It would still have to be a significant sum of money, ­otherwise I’m not interested.”
‘I’m A Celebrity: All Stars’ is set to air on ITV later this year, and although memorable contestants such as ‘Loose Women’ star Stacey Solomon – who was crowned Queen of the Jungle back in 2010 – and ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ alum Caitlyn Jenner, who reached sixth place back in 2019, are reportedly wanted for a comeback, Lady C admitted she would not be happy to see her former fellow campmates Duncan Bannatyne or Tony Hadley return because they are “nonentities.”
Asked if she would like to see the former Spandau Ballet frontman and ex ‘Dragon’s Den’ investor back in the jungle for the spin-off show, she said: “They’re all nonentities!
They may be entities in their own world, but they are really nonentities generally, and quite frankly not one of them has a decent personality, so why would any of them be invited back? That’s the question I’d ask! There are genuinely interesting people they could ask, like [tennis champion] Martina Navratilova, who is a genuine celebrity and has ­genuinely interesting points of view!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Scott is Heineken’s new ambassador for women’s football.
The company are focusing their efforts on correcting gender inequality in the sport with a new campaign titled ‘Cheers to All Fans, Men Included’.
Heineken are challenging the algorithms and search engines of key websites by launching a new webpage, Fresher Football, that provides the correct responses to the most popular questions asked about the UEFA Champions League, where answers often overlook the women’s game.
For example, if a person searches ‘How many times have Arsenal won the UCL’ they are given the answer ‘zero’ but the club’s women’s team were crowned champions of Europe in 2007 thanks to a goal from Scott.
In addition to the webpage, Heineken have unveiled a new advert titled ‘Cheers To All Fans, Men Included’ that highlights the misconception that you must be a man to be a football fan.
Soccer pundit Alex – who played as a right back for Arsenal women’s team – said: “What I love about football is that it brings people together from all walks of life. Everyone has a right to take part in the sport they love, whether they’re a fan or player. At the end of the day, sport is sport, and no one should be left out. That’s why I’m excited to work with Heineken to challenge the stereotypes, football should be for everyone.”
