Ryan Gosling wants The Gray Man to start a franchise

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Gosling hopes ‘The Gray Man’ launches a franchise.
The 41-year-old star features in the big-budget Netflix movie as the CIA’s most skilled mercenary who operates under the alias Sierra Six and explains that he already wants to make more films.
Speaking to Empire magazine, Ryan said: “I loved making this film. I’d love to do it again. I’m hoping we can bump Six up to a name status at some point, just for his own sanity.”
Ryan is selective about which roles he takes on and revealed he was drawn to the project as his character is a spy who wasn’t on any kind of mission – although he finds himself with a price on his head and hunted by international assassins when he uncovers some dark secrets.
The ‘La La Land’ actor said: “His goals aren’t monetary, it’s not about treasure, it’s not revenge. He just wants to have the right to sit on the couch and watch Netflix like the rest of us.”
Gosling also praised how the makers of the film – which also stars Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Rege-Jean Page – were able to blend both action and humour together.
He explained: “In almost every scene, we tried to set it up so that he was at a disadvantage. And it becomes about watching him use whatever is in his environment to gain leverage.
“And what he uses most consistently is a sense of humour. It’s a survival tool. If he can find what’s funny about the absurdity of the situation, he can distance himself from the danger of it.”

The Chase star Mark Labbett says celebrities get helping hand on show

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Labbett says celebrities get a helping hand on ‘The Chase’.
The famous quizzer – who appears as The Beast on the hit ITV show – has dished on some production secrets and admitted they are a bit more relaxed when it comes to the celebrity specials.
During a speech to the Oxford Union, he said: “The celebs are not as good as they think they are.
“We give every celeb a piece of A4 and it is more or less saying, ‘Tell us what you know?’
“It is only fair. If we beat them every time it would be a terrible show.”
Meanwhile, Mark also opened up on the selection process and insisted biz show chiefs are on the lookout for a smart female quizzer who “looks like she can be on Love Island”.
He added: “I have been asked on all of the Britain, America and Australia shows, ‘Can I find a female quizzer who can play like Anne [Hegarty] or Jenny [Ryan] and looks like she can be on ‘Love Island’.
“I call that Project Unicorn. I am not saying there are not any out there. TV is a very visual medium. TV will forgive almost anything except being boring.”
The 56-year-old star admitted there are definitely people out there who are stronger quizzers than him, but he insisted the Chasers all stand out because of their personalities.
He explained: “So many people say they are better quizzers than me and I say, ‘I know you are’, but if you have a personality out there, then there is a job for you.
“We have a simple test for being a Chaser and that is to get 20 questions right in two minutes and if you do that you are probably not going to cost too much money.”

Gemma Atkinson delays wedding to Strictly star Gorka Marquez

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson has postponed her wedding to Gorka Marquez.
The 37-year-old actress – who is known for her role as Lisa Hunter on Channel 4 soap ‘Hollyoaks’ – got engaged to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Gorka, 31, back in February 2021 and had planned to tie the knot later this year, but have been forced to cancel their plans due to Gorka’s hectic touring schedule.
Gemma told new! magazine: “Gorka is literally on tour all of this year. We’ve only got four days off together. He’s got the two Strictly tours back to back, and then he’ll be going on Strictly in the autumn. We don’t even have a minute to sit down and begin making plans.”
The soap star – who has been in a relationship with Gorka since 2017 and has two-year-old daughter Mia with him – previously revealed that the pair are planning to get married abroad in her fiance’s native Spain because his family don’t speak English.
She said: “We’re obviously not going to do it this year given everything that is going on, the only thing we have agreed on so far is that we are going to do it abroad.. Gorka wants his family to be able to order drinks at the bar and understand the waiters. His family don’t speak English and my family don’t speak Spanish, so we’ve said that we’ll meet halfway.”
Back in 2021, Gorka had admitted he hoped that the nuptials would take place the following year, but wanted to make sure all friends and families could attend before setting a date.
He said: “We don’t know what’s going to happen. In my head, I had it planned maybe next year but we don’t really know. We’re happy like we are right now. We want to make the wedding for all the family and friends.”

The quartet – who appeared in this year’s revival of the classic horror franchise – will be back to play Tara, Sam, Mindy and Chad respectively, with the film set to be released on March 31, 2023.
The movie will see the four survivors of the most recent Ghostface killins flee Woodsboro as they look to start a new chapter in their lives.
Directors Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) will be back for the sequel, while James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-writing the screenplay.
As reported by Deadline, Spyglass Media and Paramount have revealed the stars will reprise their roles in the movie.
The news comes after Courteney Cox previously confirmed she will be back as reporter Gale Weathers.
Speaking in March, she said: “I got the script yesterday. I haven’t read it yet, I just got it…
“I’m excited to read it, and I know they’re gonna start filming I think in June, in Canada. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything.”
She quipped: “Let me tell you the killer!”
The sixth movie was announced earlier this year by Paramount and Spyglass, who said: “We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film.
“We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie and Guy and Project X [Entertainment] have in store for our Woodsboro family.”
The directors added: “Working with such a wonderful and talented family of creators – and in the lineage Wes [Craven] and Kevin [Williamson] so expertly built – has been the thrill of a lifetime and we’re so excited to bring the next chapter in the Scream saga to life.”

“Actually, I was supposed to call a producer yesterday, because he wanted to talk to me about what’s going on.”

Martin Freeman would ‘consider’ directing a movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Freeman would “consider” directing a movie.
The 50-year-old actor – who is known for his roles in classics such as ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Love Actually’ – admitted that he can often relate to the director on set and can see himself taking the reins of a film at some point.
He said: “It’s something that I would consider. I do think about it. I change with it, really. Sometimes when I’m on set and I see what a director does, I look at it and go, “Yeah, I could do that. I’d be right with this part of it.”
However, the ‘Black Panther’star went on to admit that directors have to deal with “endless questions” that he is unsure he has the “mental bandwidth” for but remains hopeful that if his confidence improves, he could take charge of a film.
He told Collider: “But then, there are other parts of directing that I’m still not sure I’d have the mental bandwidth for, just with the endless questions and how you have to be across everything. I know I would enjoy the bits where I’m rehearsing with actors. I don’t know how good I’d be at the other stuff, or how much I’d enjoy that stuff. But never say never. If I get the confidence to think I could do it, then maybe so.”
Meanwhile, Martin is set to return to his role as Everett Ross in MCU movie ‘Black Panther 2’ and admitted that he “loves” playing the character because he is a “good guy.”
He said: “I was in and out of [filming] quite quickly, I think. But I like playing Everett Ross. He’s a very fun character to play. He’s nicely simpatico for the story. He’s a good guy.

Lily James heads Providence cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily James, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Himesh Patel have been cast in ‘Providence’.
The trio have boarded the comedy that is being directed by Potsy Ponciroli with Michael Vukadinovich penning the script.
Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker are producing for their Limelight banner while David Boies and Zack Schiller are doing the same for Boies Schiller Entertainment.
The story follows the eclectic residents of a picturesque town who must navigate a sensational murder and the discovery of a million dollars while a series of increasingly bad decisions has an impact on the once-peaceful community.
Principal photography on the project will begin in North Carolina this week.
Lily has won rave reviews for her portrayal of Pamela Anderson in the TV series ‘Pam and Tommy’ and admits she felt under pressure playing the ‘Baywatch’ star.
The 33-year-old star said: “It’s always such a huge responsibility to play someone, a real person, particularly with Pam, she’s such an icon.
“I really love her, and I wanted to try and do her justice and try and capture her spirit and really explore what happened at that time and how she was treated and how things have changed, or not changed.”
The series explores Pamela’s whirlwind romance and the release of her sex tape with rock star Tommy Lee, who is played by Sebastian Stan. Lily underwent a physical transformation for the part and said it was a huge challenge.
The ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ star explained: “I obviously do not look like Pamela. So, it took a lot of work, but it meant that I was able to believe myself in the role.
“When I looked at Sebastian, and I know when he looked at me, it was just so exciting, because we felt so in character and we really forgot ourselves.”

Daisy Ridley and Shazad Latif to star in Magpie

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley and Shazad Latif are set to star in ‘Magpie’.
The pair have joined the cast of the contemporary noir thriller which will also feature Matilda Lutz.
The film, which is based on an original idea from the ‘Star Wars’ actress, will mark the directorial debut of theatre helmer Sam Yates.

‘Magpie’ will be produced by Ridley and Tom Bateman for Werewolf Films and Kate Solomon of 55 Films.
The producers said: “Our aim with ‘Magpie’ is to make a Hitchcockian thriller that will take audiences on a genuine ride – fast-paced and beautiful to look at with a tension that will build from the start and keep everyone guessing to the very end.”
Yates added: “I immediately connected with Tom Bateman’s ingenious, intoxicating script. I’m excited to take audiences on a wild, surprising thrill ride with our stellar cast led by the incomparable Daisy Ridley.”
Meanwhile, Daisy is also set to star in and produce the indie drama ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’.
The star will play a woman called Fran who enjoys thinking about death as it brings sensation to her quiet life.
When she makes the new guy at work laugh, it leads to a date, a conversation and a spark. The only thing standing in the way is Fran herself.
Rachel Lambert has directed the film with Kevin Armento, Stefanie Abel Horowitz and Katy Wright-Mead penning the script. The picture is based on Armento’s play ‘Killers’ as well as the short film ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’.

Si King reveals pal Dave Myers is ‘doing OK and remaining positive’ amid health battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Si King has told how his good pal Dave Myers is “doing OK” and “remaining positive”, after the Hairy Biker revealed he is to undergo chemotherapy.
The 55-year-old celebrity chef admitted his friend is “pretty focused on his treatment” and he assured viewers Dave is “as tough as an old boot”.
Appearing on ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (11.05.22), ahead of doing a solo cooking segment, he said: “He’s doing OK, he’s doing OK. He remains really positive and pretty focused on his treatment, so yeah, he’s doing OK.
“He’s typically Dave, he’s as tough as an old boot. So he’s doing grand, thank you for asking.”
Si was preparing to make a chicken and spinach curry on the ITV brunch-time show, and he admitted it was “a bit odd” cooking without his pal alongside him.
When asked if it’s weird cooking alone, he said: “It’s a bit odd without my mate, I have to say.”
Last week, Dave, 64, revealed he is to undergo chemotherapy because he “hasn’t been too well recently”, but didn’t reveal what he is suffering from.
He told Si: “I’ve got to come clean now, I haven’t been too well recently and basically, I’ve got to have some chemo, you [Si King] know all this anyway. So this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I’m not going to be filming, some of the festivals I’m not going to be able to go to, some may be OK, but this year’s a bit of a write off for us.
“I have had to speak up about this because I don’t want to hide under a rock, but I would love it if people respected my privacy and just let me get on with it and give Si and our team all the support they need. That would be great. But look, the prognosis is OK. I’m going to be fine.”
Dave – who has been married to Liliana Orzac since 2011 and is stepfather to her two children – admitted he needs to look after his diet and joked that he looks “alright” bald.
He said: “I’ve just got to tuck in, look after myself, eat sensibly and get over this mess, flog books, and be a happy person so within that, that’s where I am. I may be a baldy biker for a while so it’s just a warning, I don’t want to make a fuss about it, I look alright bald actually.
“Under different circumstances I would embrace it more but I feel under these circumstances it’s simply something I have to live with, get on with it, and crack on.”

Deborah James feels ‘utterly loved’ after millions donated to cancer fund

OHMYGOSSIP — Deborah James feels “utterly loved” after more than £2.5 million was donated to her fundraiser in two days, after the cancer-stricken star said “goodbye” to her fans.
The BBC podcaster and blogger – who was instrumental in helping to launch the No Butts campaign, which raises awareness of bowel cancer, on ‘Lorraine’ – set up the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK this week after revealing she is receiving end-of-life care for her bowel cancer.
At the time of writing, the fund has received more than £2.5 million in donations, after she had set an initial target of £250,000.
Deborah has spoken openly about bowel cancer to raise awareness since she was diagnosed in 2016, particularly on BBC podcast ‘You, Me and the Big C’.
In her final episode this week, she said about the fundraiser: “I just cannot thank people enough for their generosity because it just it just means so much to me.
“It makes me feel utterly loved. But it makes me feel like we’re all kind of – in at the end together and we all want to make a difference and say you know what? Screw you cancer. We can do better. We can do better for people and we just need to show it who is boss.”
Deborah also said goodbye to her listeners and told how she is living out her final days at her parents’ house in Woking for the sake of her children Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12.
She said: “It’s kind of where I’ve always wanted to die, weirdly. I’ve always had that in mind.
“I think I always knew I didn’t want to be at my London home. It doesn’t feel right to me.”
Earlier this week, Deborah took to Instagram to say “goodbye” to fans and reveal her active care has now stopped because her body is not “playing ball”.
She wrote: “The message I never wanted to write. We have tried everything, but my body simply isn’t playing ball. My active care has stopped and I am now moved to hospice at home care, with my incredible family all around me and the focus is on making sure I’m not in pain and spending time with them. Nobody knows how long I’ve got left but I’m not able to walk, I’m sleeping most of the days, and most things I took for granted are pipe dreams. I know we have left no stone unturned. But even with all the innovative cancer drugs in the world or some magic new breakthrough, my body just can’t continue anymore.
In over 5 years of writing about how I thought it would be my final Christmas, how I wouldn’t see my 40th birthday nor see my kids go to secondary school – I never envisaged writing the one where I would actually say goodbye.
I think it’s been the rebellious hope in me.
But I don’t think anyone can say the last 6 months has exactly been kind! It’s all heartbreaking to be going through but I’m surrounded by so much love that if anything can help me through I hope that will.
Bowelbabe Fund
I always knew there was one thing I always wanted to do before I died. I have always over the years raised as much awareness and money for the charities that are closest to me. @cr_uk @royalmarsden @bowelcanceruk
As a result, the @bowelbabefund is being established and I’d love nothing more than for you to help it flourish. Please visit bowelbabe.org for all the info and to donate (link in Bio).
All I ask if you ever read a column, followed my Instagram, listened to the podcast or saw me dressed as a poo for no reason. Please buy me a drink to see me out this world, by donating the cost to @bowelbabefund which will enable us to raise funds for further life saving research into cancer. To give more Deborah’s more time!
Right now for me it’s all about taking it a day at a time, step by step and being grateful for another sunrise. My whole family are around me and we will dance through this together, sunbathing and laughing (I’ll cry!!) at every possible moment!
You are all incredible, thank you for
playing your part in my journey.
No regrets.
Enjoy life x

Emmerdale’s Faith to discover breast cancer has returned

OHMYGOSSIP — Emmerdale’s Faith Dingle is to discover her breast cancer has returned.
Sally Dexter’s character will be told the devastating news in episodes due to transmit later this week, and the 62-year-old star feels a “real responsibility” to tell the hard-hitting plot.
She said: “It’s upsetting, but really important as a storyline, because it’s more than a storyline for so many people.
“It matters to people who are going through it as well as people who will go through it. I feel a sense of real responsibility, but also a privilege to be doing this storyline.”
The upcoming ‘Emmerdale’ episodes have been produced with the support of charity Breast Cancer Now to give Faith’s secondary cancer storyline a realistic and authentic depiction.
Catherine Priestley, Clinical Nurse Specialist at Breast Cancer Now, said: “With it estimated that around 35,000 people are living with secondary breast cancer in the UK, it’s been an incredibly important opportunity for us to provide expert guidance around Faith’s storyline – giving a steer to script writers as to how her diagnosis and experience of the disease can be portrayed accurately and raising awareness of some of the signs and symptoms of secondary breast cancer among millions of ‘Emmerdale’ fans.
“Everyone’s experience of breast cancer is different, but we know from calls to our Helpline just how anxious women may feel about the possibility of their cancer returning, and how overwhelming the impact of a secondary breast cancer diagnosis can be for patients and their families.”
Faith will turn to Moira (Natalie J Robb) for support as tensions remain high with her children, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain (Jeff Hordley), who she’s unable to talk to about her diagnosis.
Emmerdale Producer, Laura Shaw, added: “Faith’s devastating cancer diagnosis will impact not only her life, but all those around her. We know at the very core of the Dingles is a strong sense of family and love, so for them to try and navigate through this heart-breaking time will be incredibly difficult.
“Faith’s zest for life with her spicy sense of humour and appetite for fun and adventure means that while there will inevitably be some painful and heart wrenching moments, we will also see life affirming and positive moments of light in the story too.
“Given the calibre of actor Sally is, I know she will approach the story with great honesty and depth and do it justice and this in turn will raise awareness of such an important issue that affects many people on a daily basis.”

Sheridan Smith ‘robbed of jewellery from sitcom set’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith was reportedly robbed while shooting her new comedy show.
The 40-year-old actress is currently filming new series ‘Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything’ in South West London and is said to be “very upset” after thieves allegedly raided her trailer and stole jewellery worth thousands last week.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “This was a very upsetting incident and everyone involved is shocked – but Sheridan is understandably very hurt.
“Fortunately, it wasn’t hugely expensive items, more day-to-day things, but she had left them in her trailer for safety while filming in character and came back to find the place had been turned over.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “The offence happened at about 11.50pm on May 5. Items of jewellery were stolen from trailers in Surbiton. There have been no arrests, inquiries continue.”
The former ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ actress is thought to have become a victim of a gang nicknamed The Movie Takers, who have allegedly carried out raids on big-budget film and TV programmes.
The source added: “It’s absolutely disgraceful that these people would do this. The film industry and TV is of course very well protected by security, and almost everyone who works within it tends to know each other so people feel very safe.
“It’s hard to get on to a set without being recognised by somebody immediately, so a few incidents in quick succession is very unusual. It could be that the same people are targeting sets, knowing there are high-value items.”

Ex-Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz welcome twins

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz Fletcher have welcomed twins into the world.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star took to Instagram to reveal his partner – who starred alongside him in BBC One show ‘Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure’ – has given birth to their two boys, and he cannot stop smiling about the new arrivals.
He wrote: “A gift from God
Welcome to the world my little boys
#ifyoucouldseemysmile (sic)”
Liz posted: “They are here!!
My heart is filled with so much love and gratitude. (sic)”
In March, Kelvin told how he and Liz – who already share daughter Marnie, five, and son Milo, three – felt “so lucky” to be expecting twin boys.
He said: “We’ve already got the best of both worlds with Marnie and Milo, so I didn’t mind either way, but finding out we’re having sons is amazing.
“It was the best day of my life. It was a moment of complete disbelief. I’ve never felt joy like it.”
Liz – who married the actor in 2015 – admitted having twins will pose a unique challenge for the loved-up couple.
She said: “I felt every single emotion under the sun. First, there’s double the worry.
“I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time?
“I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds. Kelvin was saying it’s a miracle, and I was thinking ‘How are we going to do this?’
“But now we can’t imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky.”

Martin Roberts to return to Homes Under the Hammer filming after heart scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Roberts will return to film ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ in a couple of weeks, following a life-saving operation.
The 58-year-old star recently told how he had to have one-and-a-half litres of fluid drained from around his heart after experiencing chest pains, and the TV presenter – who has fronted the BBC renovation and auction show since the first series in 2003 – isn’t planning to quit anytime soon, because he is desperate to reach 20 years on the programme in 2023.
Martin – who suffered a cardiac tamponade, when extra fluid builds up in the space around the heart – said: “I’ve got to get to 20 years.
“Hopefully I’ll get some nicer properties and they’ll cherry pick the good ones, rather than the really bad ones.”
Asked if he’d like to get to 21 years, Martin said, “Yeah, I’d like to carry on.”
Martin – who is married to wife Kirsty Roberts – also revealed how he knew he needed to seek medical help when he began to become “delirious” and was putting letters the wrong way around.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he added: “I’d been feeling a bit poorly, under the weather for a couple of weeks. I’ve had a few chest infections over the last few years and I’ve had asthma since childhood, so I’m used to quite a tight chest.
“As it approached the Easter bank holiday weekend, it was starting to get really bad where I could hardly walk without struggling for breath.
“The confusing thing about this, it’s a bit of a red herring, is that it gets you in the breathing side of things, so you don’t think it’s something to do with your heart. You think, ‘It must be something to do with my chest.’
“Then it’s the dangerous thing of playing Google doctor.
“It looked like it could have been the symptoms for long COVID – real lethargy, a tightness in the chest, pain in the chest, difficulty breathing, so you pause it and pause it and by the time it got to just after the bank holiday weekend, I was starting to be delirious, putting letters the wrong way round, I said to Kirsty, ‘We’ve got to go to hospital.’ ”
Martin recently explained how his heart was being “strangled” before he underwent the life-saving operation.
He said: “Within three or four hours I was in an emergency operating ward having a tube put into this sac around the heart and they drained off a litre and a half of fluid. It was literally sort of strangling myself.
“It was very bizarre that I was awake throughout the whole process, so I watched as they drew out all this death-giving liquid that was in my chest. I’m still here.”

Malandra Burrows’ dog alerted her to breast cancer lump before diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Malandra Burrows’ dog alerted her to a lump in her breast before she was diagnosed with cancer.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress – who is best known for playing Kathy Glover in the ITV soap – has told how her pet pooch Teddy knew something was wrong, which led to her finding a lump, which was later diagnosed as breast cancer.
She said: “It was so bizarre. We were watching a movie together and she literally wanted to lie on my chest.
“She’d never done that before. Nuzzling, sort of headbutting me, and this one night she kind of swiped me so hard with her head it really, really hurt, so that same evening, before I went to bed, I checked myself and just thought, ‘Oh, she must’ve bruised me – it’s really painful.’
“And that’s when I felt this little lump – I thought it was a swollen gland.
“I feel so blessed. I was one of those women who didn’t have any symptoms, and without that i just dread to think where I’d be now. It’s astonishing and I’m so thankful to her.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star – who finished seventh in the ITV show in 2006 – has vowed to “fight” her cancer, admitting she can “do anything” after starring in the programme.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “I’ve been in the jungle with Ant and Dec, I can do anything. I’m going to fight this. And that’s what I’m going to do.”
Last month, Malandra revealed she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.
She said: “I was at the hospital and the first consultant told me it was a cyst.
“He said, ‘I won’t be seeing you again.’ The relief I felt. But then the consultant said they needed to see me as soon as possible and added, ‘Could you bring someone with you?’ But I thought I’ve got to take this on my own. I’m single, and I felt I couldn’t do that to a friend. When I went in, I found myself greeted by a Macmillan nurse and I just knew.”

Josh Brolin teases third Sicario movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Brolin has hinted that a third ‘Sicario’ movie could be made.
The 54-year-old star played CIA officer Matt Graver in the 2015 action flick and the sequel ‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’ and revealed that a third film has been “written and rewritten” and could still head into production.
Josh told The Hollywood Reporter: “I just don’t know when we’ll do it. We may be 80. But it’s very much at the forefront of all of our minds. It’s been written and it’s been rewritten. So it’s out there.
“We think it deserves a third one if we can make it in the way that we want to make it. So don’t give up!”
Josh reunited with ‘Sicario’ director Denis Villeneuve on last year’s sci-fi epic ‘Dune’ and felt that the filmmaker created a relaxed atmosphere on set.
The ‘American Gangster’ star explained: “‘Dune’ was just bigger and more relaxed. It could be very intense, but it was loose, too. With ‘Blade Runner 2049’, it was slated to do very well, but then the movie came out and it didn’t do so well. So I think there was a little vulnerability there, and sometimes that can help.”
Josh continued: “It was like the Coens doing ‘No Country for Old Men’ having just done two very big movies, one with (George) Clooney (‘Intolerable Cruelty’) and one with Tom Hanks (‘The Ladykillers’). It’s this kind of base viscera, and I think there was some of that going on with Denis and ‘Dune’.
“He and I have a good time. There’s a real brotherhood there. I’m very lucky because I love that man very much, and it just turns out that he’s also an amazing filmmaker.”

Michelle Yeoh thinks Crazy Rich Asians was a game-changing film

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Yeoh thinks that ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ changed the game for Asian actors.
The 59-year-old actress starred in Jon M. Chu’s romantic comedy-drama movie and thinks its success did a lot for the progression of Asian stars in Hollywood.
Speaking to Variety, Michelle said: “It was a big moment for us, but looking back, what if it didn’t work? Would it have set our community back many years? A lot was riding on the success of the film, and a lot of Asian leading roles would not have been greenlit. Because that’s showbiz.
“Fortunately, it was about great storytelling, and Jon did an amazing job of telling this story, which was so relatable and transcends just Asian casts. It sets up the tone that shows that people do love to see leading Asian men and women and to hear their experiences. So, it did change a lot of things.”
Michelle also played Bond girl Wai Lin opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 1997 film ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ and recalled how she was treated warmly when she arrived in Britain to start work on the blockbuster.
The ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ star said: “Come on, to be a Bond girl! The best memory I have was upon entering the UK (to start work on the film).
“When you’re going through immigration, the officers who have been sitting there all day, this whole time, ask the normal question, ‘So, what are you doing here?’ I said, ‘Oh, I’m going to be working.’ He asked me, ‘What are you working on?’ I said, ‘Oh, I’m going to be in the next James Bond movie.’
“And he gasped and said, ‘Welcome to England.’ If you think about it, he, Bond, is so loved. Remember when the Queen met James Bond? So, it’s very precious and special to be a part of such an iconic legacy.”
