OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Faulkner wants to return to ‘Celebrity Gogglebox.’
The 50-year-old actress made an appearance on the reality show – which documents telly watchers as they react to programmes on the box – back in 2019 alongside former ‘Brookside’ co-star Nicola Stephenson back in 2019 and would “love” do to the whole thing again even though filming hours are “long.”
She said: “[Filming] is quite long but it’s not too bad. It’s funny because they’re like ‘Oh this is this bit, watch this and this is nice’, they ask what you want. You just sit there and you sort of forget quite quickly that there are cameras on you because you’re just watching the telly but it was really fun to be asked – I’d love to do it again, it was great.”
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who is married to TV chef John Torode and fronts ITV show ‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’ with him – added that producers of ‘Gogglebox’ do not reveal to participants what they will be watching beforehand as they prefer to keep things as a “surprise.”
She told The Daily Star newspaper: “They sort of don’t say anything, they like to surprise you.”
Meanwhile, Lisa – who has 16-year-old daughter Billie with ex-husband Chris Coghill – also explained that she and John “don’t separate work and home life” when it comes to shooting their cooking show.
She said: “We don’t separate it on set, it’s just like we’re cooking in our kitchen. I think that’s what is really funny, when we’re on set cooking, we may as well be in our kitchen at home. Anyone that comes to our kitchen at home says ‘Oh my God’ if they’ve watched the show, they say ‘it’s just like being at your house.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison King has split from her fiancé David Stuckey.
The 49-year-old actress – who is best known for having starred as factory boss Carla Connor on ‘Coronation Street’ since 2006 – was set to marry IT consultant David, 40, but has reportedly called off the four year engagement after lockdown repeatedly pushed back the big day.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Alison and David have sadly decided to separate. They were very much in love for a long time but have ended up growing apart. They parted amicably and both wish each other the best in the future. It’s obviously very sad for them both, but they knew they couldn’t continue on together.”
The former ‘Dream Team’ actress – whose ‘Corrie’ character has been married five times during her time on the Street – announced her engagement back in 2019 and is thought to have planned for a Greek wedding for 2020 but travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 lockdowns made her dream day a logistical nightmare.
Speaking about the engagement, she previously said: “I had an inkling he was going to pop the ­question because he kept putting something on my finger and going, ‘Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened. I find wedding stuff a bit like work because I’ve got married so many times at work but this is for real and it’s exciting. I just want it to be really relaxing.”
Prior to meeting David through a fitness instructor, Alison dated ex-Corrie star Philip Middlemiss -who played Des Barnes on the show – as well as former ‘Brookside’ actor Louis Emerick and fellow ‘Dream Team’ star Jim Alexander and has 13-year-old daughter Daisy Mae with ex-partner Adam Huckett.

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell T Davies has “moved on” from ‘It’s A Sin.’
The 59-year-old screenwriter penned the semi-autobiographical drama for Channel 4 – which saw pop star Olly Alexander star as gay teenager Ritchie Tozer growing up during the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 1980s and 1990s – back in 2021 and while it was met with rave reviews, there will not be a second series.
Russell said: “I can see it had an extraordinary resonance but you sit down with the next script and it’s a blank page and I think ‘I’ve got no idea what I’m doing’. You think ‘I can’t do that again’, which is why there isn’t a second series. I just like to move on and do something different.”
The acclaimed writer – who also created and wrote two series of groundbreaking gay drama ‘Queer as Folk’ for Channel 4 back in the 1990s – went on to explain that he is “glad” to have moved on from the hard-hitting show, which also starred the likes of Keeley Hawes, Stephen Fry and Lydia West.
He is quoted by The Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I’m glad I’ve moved on. I’m glad I’m doing something new in which it’s a wild open prairie of storylines.”
Meanwhile, Russell has returned to his role as showrunner on BBC series ‘Doctor Who’ after more than a decade away and claimed it was an “absolute joy” to have cast trans actress Yasmin Finney as a a character named Rose opposite new Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa, who is set to take over the TARDIS from current Doctor Jodie Whittaker later this year.
Russell said: “Life on Doctor Who gets brighter and wilder, how can there be another Rose?. You’ll find out in 2023, but it’s an absolute joy to welcome Yasmin to the Doctor Who set. We all fell in love with her in Heartstopper, one of those shows which changes the world — and now Yasmin can change the Whoniverse!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Hewer has tipped the likes of Gyles Brandreth and Colin Murray to take over from Anne Robinson as host of ‘Countdown’.
The Channel 4 quiz show’s former host has given the names of those who he believes would be the best replacement for the former ‘Weakest Link’ host, who recently announced she is leaving ‘Countdown’ after just a year.
As well as Dictionary Corner regular Gyles, Nick could see Colin, who previously guest hosted 33 episodes in 202 when he had to shield during the pandemic, landing the gig.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, the 78-year-old former ‘The Apprentice’ advisor said: “I think one of the great fans of ‘Countdown’ from the very beginning is Gyles Brandreth.
“I mean, he’s been coming as a guest for 30 years and loves the show and is, I think, an extraordinary talent. Whether he’s got time to do it or not, I don’t know, but he would be wonderful – he’s such as such a nice, kind, man, a lovely chap.”
Nick could also see Richard Osman as host, but he’s only just announced he’s leaving the BBC One quiz show ‘Pointless’.
He continued: “I think Richard Osman has been heavily tipped from what I can see, and I think he’d be wonderful, although he’s saying he’s just given up ‘Pointless’ because he’s too busy, so he may find that a little bit of a out of the frying pan into the fire.”
He added: “Colin Murray took over from me when I couldn’t go to the studio because of lockdown. He is a big fan and is very likable and very articulate, and loves the show.”
It was recently reported that Colin is set to be a stand-in host.
A source recently claimed: “Colin has agreed to be a stand-in host for us, which is brilliant news.
“He knows the team and gets on really well with Rachel, they are good friends off screen.
“No one knows what is going to happen beyond the autumn in terms of hosting, but if Colin does want the job, he is in the right place to show why he should get it.”
If Colin does end up landing the job on a permanent basis, he will follow an illustrious list of presenters including Richard Whiteley, Des Lynam, Des O’Connor, Jeff Stelling, Nick and Anne.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘BBC Breakfast’ presenter Carol Kirkwood is engaged.
The 59-year-old weather presenter revealed that she is set to be wed to her “extremely handsome” partner after social media speculation after spotting a ring on her finger.
She confirmed the news after her co-host Sally Nugent – who was joined by fellow presenter Jon Kay, 52 – voiced her “concern” for her after clocking the blinder weighing down her hand.
Speaking to Carol – who was reporting live from the Chelsea Flower Show – the 50-year-old presenter said: “I’m a little bit concerned about you this morning. I don’t know how you’re managing to stand up with that giant rock on your left hand, Carol!”
Peering down at her hand, Carol replied: “Oh, that one? Thank you Sal! It is rather nice, I got engaged.”
Sally responded to the happy news by offering a “congratulations” on behalf of the entire team, before getting permission to “confirm to the nation”.
“Congratulations from all of us! It’s the happiest news, we are so, so delighted. Congratulations.”
“Can we confirm to the nation what’s happened?”
Carol – while giggling – agreed and called it “lovely news”.
She said: “Yes! I think you just have, Sal. Yes, I got engaged. We got engaged when we were on holiday. So it’s lovely news and we’re both thrilled, so thank you!”
Jon added: “We’re all thrilled, we’re all so chuffed for you Carol, on behalf of all the team here and everybody watching, I’m sure. Absolutely delighted.”
Are you looking for a spot for the marquee while you’re at Chelsea, yeah?”
Noting Carol keeping mum, Sally said: “She’s not giving anything away!,” before Carol admitted she and her man had “no plans” for their upcoming nuptials, and said: “I’m taking note of all the flowers, Jon. But no, there’s no plans in fruit yet.”
Sally repeated her well-wishes, and said: “Congratulations Carol, we love you both. It’s brilliant, brilliant news,” before confession that she had known “for a while”.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Call the Midwife’ will feature a ventouse birth for the first time next series.
The long-running BBC One period drama – based on the book ‘Call The Midwife: A True Story of The East End in the 1950s’ by Jennifer Worth – will keep with the times by including historically accurate services and birthing technologies, such as at-home visitors and “vacuum extraction” via forceps.
Of the new series – which is set in 1968 and was confirmed to be filming back in April – Heidi Thomas said: “We do have a new nun joining us, Sister Veronica, who arrives in the first episode.
She added: “Sister Veronica is going to be our very first health visitor, she’ll be helping us steer through the policies that were new at the time – she’s very involved in what we call preventative health, for example nutrition and supporting families.”
Heidi added that “vacuum extraction” might pose a challenge for Dr Turner – played by Stephen McGann – and his team after they shown the new developments in maternity care.
She said: “Whether Doctor Turner can afford to buy a ventouse machine is another matter. It might be like the incubator and need fundraising.”
In addition, the show – which also stars Helen George, Jenny Agutter, Laura Main and Leonie Elliott – will also dive into the divisive politics of the era, such as Enoch Powell’s controversial ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech, which production “felt [they] couldn’t ignore”.
Helen said: “The first episode of the new series coincides with Enoch Powell’s famous speech about rivers of blood, which did change the way people of different cultures and ethnicities act with one another, and we felt we couldn’t ignore that.”
They will also cover the impact of the thalidomide – a drug introduced in the 1960 to aid morning sickness but turned out to have adverse side effects – as they follow Rhoda Mullock and her daughter Susan “coming to terms with artificial limbs”.
She said: “We meet Susan again at the age of six coming to terms with artificial limbs. We see the impact that has on her parents.
Heidi revealed that the new episodes will “echo something” similar to between the gulfs between rich and poor that we are seeing in the current day.
She said: “There’s no way you can deny our series will echo something we’re seeing today and that’s quite harrowing, to think 50 years down the line, some people are still having the same problems as their parents and grandparents had.”
The twelfth series of ‘Call the Midwife’ is set to air on BBC One in 2023.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Pascoe is to return to screens with a new series of ‘Last Woman on Earth.’
The 41-year-old comedienne fronted the first series of the travel documentary show – which followed the ‘QI’ star as she tracked down some of the world’s most endangered jobs – back in 2020 and will now return to BBC Two for a second helping of the show which will see her visit Greece, Denmark and Jordan to take on a set of unique jobs.
In a statement, Sara said: “Having been locked indoors like everyone else through the pandemic, I can’t wait to get back out into the world to see what’s changed, what’s changing and how rare and interesting jobs are being affected. We’ve got more fascinating people to meet this series and some equally exciting adventures.”
During the inaugural series of the show, Sara was seen ice carving in Finland, climbing trees to pick coconuts for making sweets in Cuba and became a Stalin Museum guide in Georgia but is now set to take on tasks such as creating Lego and will become a lifeguard at the Dead Sea during the three hour-long episodes.
Catherine Catton, BBC Head Commissioning Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment said: ”Our audiences relished Sara’s uniquely brilliant take on the jobs, cultures and countries she encountered in the first series. Having had our plans for a follow-up delayed, we’re thrilled to be able to embark on some brand new journeys with her.”
‘Last Woman On Earth with Sara Pascoe’ will air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer later this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Patrick Murray has been “cured” of lung cancer.
The 65-year-old actor – who is best known for his role as Mickey Pearce in classic sitcom ‘Only Fools and Horses’ alongside David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst – was diagnosed with lung cancer in the summer of 2021 and underwent an operation in October to remove the tumour before enduring rounds of chemotherapy to stop the cancer from coming back.
On Sunday (22.05.22), the sitcom legend took to Twitter to alert fans that a tumour in his liver was “shrinking” and thanked all the “brilliant doctors and nurses” at the NHS.
He tweeted: “Thanks to the brilliant doctors and nurses of our NHS ,I will
hopefully I be there ,at next years convention . Last friday l saw my oncologist She told me the lung cancer was cured and that the tumour in my liver was shrinking .”
It’s not over yet , but as you can imagine I am over the moon with this latest news. Thanks again for all your lovely messages .
As you may know , I was diagnosed with lung cancer last July . After an op in Oct to remove the tumour I had chemo to help prevent the cancer returning.”(sic)
Patrick also revealed that when it comes to celebrating the good news, he has given up drinking so won’t be making a trip to the pub but was “really touched” to have received support from his former co-stars, including David Jason.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I don’t drink now so I’m not going down the pub to celebrate — a salad and a sparkling water is more my thing. I’ve had so many messages from my old Only Fools pals, like David Jason, when I revealed me diagnoses. I was really touched by that
Back in January, Patrick – who was initially warned he would not make it past Christmas 2021 – explained that he was
lucky to be alive after medics discovered a tumour on his liver in the previous summer.
He discovered he had cancer after visiting his GP over growing concerns of his bloated stomach which left him feeling pregnant from the extra weight.
He added: “The very next morning, I got the phone call nobody wants to hear when the doctor says, ‘Are you sitting down?’ The first primary
diagnosis was actually a lot worse than what it was. It showed up a lot of red flags that I had a tumour on my liver and three metastatics – which is cancer of the blood. I was told it looks like I wouldn’t make Christmas.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele Roberts has “learned to appreciate” her body after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.
The 43-year-old star was diagnosed with bowel cancer back in October 2021 and following the removal of a tumour as well as undergoing chemotherapy “loves her body” more than ever before as she poses with her stoma bag – which allows her to go to the toilet – on the cover of Women’s Health Magazine.
She said: “Being diagnosed with cancer has meant I’ve learned to appreciate my body; be grateful that it works; be grateful they found the tumour in time to remove it and be grateful [that modern medicine means I can] have a stoma. I feel like I love my body more than ever. One in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives, and I think the more we can actually talk about it, the less negatively affected people will be, mentally, if and when that happens. That’s why it means so much – as someone undergoing cancer treatment and with a visible stoma – to be on the cover of Women’s Health.”
The ‘BBC Sport’ presenter – who married long-term girlfriend Kate Holderness shortly after her diagnosis – went on to explain that while she initially spent “a lot of time feeling sad” about her cancer, she was amazed to find out how much she can still do as she adjusts to living with the disease.
She told Women’s Health UK: “I’ve spent a lot of time being upset. When I was in hospital, recovering after my surgeries, I would overhear conversations of other women on the ward and learn they had a much worse diagnosis than me – maybe terminal cancer – and that’s when I’d feel down. I think my strategy, so that I can stay stable while I’m on chemotherapy, is just to get on with it and try and not let it beat me mentally. Like, I need to sort of tackle it head on, because that’s how I cope with things, but I understand everyone’s different. Following people on social media who were going through treatment and sharing their stories really helped me. People who were living their life – truly living with cancer. And that wasn’t something I’d really seen before my diagnosis. On TV, stories often portray the sad side of cancer, which definitely exists. But I didn’t realise how much I’d still be able to do. I can go running, I can swim, I can still do my show on Radio 1.”
