Dermot Mulroney has signed on to star in the next ‘Scream’ movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Dermot Mulroney has signed on to star in the next ‘Scream’ movie.
The ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ star has been named as the latest addition to the sixth installment of the horror franchise that is being helmed by directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – who took over from Wes Craven, who passed away, aged 76, from a brain tumour in 2015 – and writers Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt.
The role of the 58-year-old actor is being mainly kept top secret, but the Hollywood Reporter says his character will be a police officer. Other plot details are tight-lipped too with the only snippet being given that those left will “leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter,” according to a synopsis.
Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Jenna Ortega are also all confirmed to reprise their roles after making their ‘Scream’ debut in the 2022 reboot. They will join along with Hayden Panettiere, – who has not featured in the series since Scream 4 – who is coming back as Kirby Reed.
Courteney Cox – who has played television reporter Gale Weathers since the 1996 original that starred Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Drew Barrymore – is also enlisted.
The ‘Friends’ star – while keeping it mostly mum – gave some insight into the “really good” script for the new movie.
The 57-year-old actress said: “I don’t know about contracts and where things are, but I’ll tell you in the script — it’s a really good one.”
“You actually have to be killed if you talk about it, so I’m not gonna say anything.”
Paramount and Spyglass confirmed the news of the sixth movie in February in a statement.
They said: “We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family.”
Matt and Tyler added: “Working with such a wonderful and talented family of creators — and in the lineage Wes and Kevin [Williamson] so expertly built — has been the thrill of a lifetime, and we’re so excited to bring the next chapter in the Scream saga to life.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Cryer wants to do third ‘Hot Shot’ movie after the success of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
The ‘Pretty in Pink’ star took to Twitter to appeal to to co-star Charlie Sheen – who he also worked opposite on the long-running CBS sitcom ‘Two and Half Men’ – to reunite to make their 1991 and 1993 ‘Top Gun’ spoofs into a trilogy after the critically acclaimed action flick took home more than half a billion dollars at the box office.
The 57-year-old actor – who only appeared in the original – wrote on Saturday (04.06.22): “Just saw Top Gun: Maverick. Think it’s time to reunite with Sheen for Hot Shots: Part Tres”.
The two movies – which features Charlie as Topper Harley, a Navy fighter pilot and Jon as Lieutenant Jim ‘Wash Out’ Pfaffenbach, along with their co-stars Cary Elwes, Valeria Golino and Lloyd Bridges – were made on the success of the 1986 movie, which starred Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer
Joseph Kosinski – who directed the record breaking smash hit sequel that sees Tom and Val reprise their roles as Maverick and Iceman respectively – shared he “didn’t do a director’s cut” as all the material needed to “pretty good” to make it to the final version.
The 48-year-old director said: “I didn’t do a director’s cut. We really just started putting the movie together as we shot it. So, I think by the time we had finished shooting, we just had a film. First pass, it was probably 2:35, I would say, to have everything in there. But very quickly we were cutting it down. So, there’s a couple scenes, they’re left out. There’s a couple, like there’s a shot in the first trailer of Maverick looking up at the F-14 on the stick, things like that, that didn’t make it in. But for the most part, it was just about, the shot or the scene had to be pretty good to make it into this cut.”

Paddy McGuinness says Top Gear will ‘always change hosts’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness is convinced ‘Top Gear’ will continue for the foreseeable future and will “always change hosts”.
The BBC motoring show was previously fronted by Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson, but has gone through a number of line-up changes since the trio left.
‘Take Me Out’ star Paddy, 48, joined th show in 2019 alongside Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris and he thinks ‘Top Gear’ will continue for years to come with new hosts.
He told Radio Times: “While discussing whether the show ever needs to reinvent itself now it’s 32 seasons in, Paddy said: “It’s our show now and we’re all in it, you know, and who knows further down the line it’ll stop here or carry on going … it’ll always change hosts.”
Paddy insisted they aren’t trying to “reinvent” the series but they want to keep the “good vibes” which viewers love.
He added: “For now, it’s not a case to reinvent – it’s just keeping up the good vibes of it and keeping the viewers interested which it does every series it gets more and more viewers. And that’s all we can do.
“Those feelings of reinventing it and pressure and everything else kind of went with the first series for me.”
Chris, who joined in 2016, added: “You never know what’s going to happen to you around the corner. But it’s a great fun job. And it appears to be a brand that’s working well for us and the BBC. So, crack on!”
The original ‘Top Gear’ dates back to the 1970s but was cancelled in 2001 and later revived by Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, who presented alongside Jason Dawe.
Jason was later replaced by James May, and the trio enjoyed huge success until they exited in 2015 after Jeremy’s contract was not renewed by the BBC.

Oti Mabuse’s show Romeo and Duet ‘to be axed’ by ITV

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse’s new TV show ‘Romeo and Duet’ is reportedly set to be axed by ITV after just one series.
The 31-year-old star left her role as a professional dancer on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ earlier this year and returned to screens as the host of the dating/talent show which features contestants looking for love using their singing skills.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “This will be gut-wrenching for Oti as it was her first solo presenting gig since quitting Strictly to pursue new opportunities.
“Expectations were high for the programme as she is immensely popular with the public and ‘Romeo and Duet’ was given a prime-time slot. Rubbing salt in the wound is the fact that the series hasn’t even finished — the final episode airs this Saturday.”
The Sun reports the decision was made due to a slump in ratings, which reportedly bottomed out at 890,000 viewers for the last episode.
An ITV spokesperson told the publication that “no decision has been made” on the future of the show.
The news comes after Oti suggested she might not be done with ‘Strictly’.
The 31-year-old professional dancer quit the BBC ballroom show earlier this year after seven years, and has since gone on to be a judge on rival shows ‘Dancing on Ice’ and ‘The Masked Dancer’.
However, the South African choreographer has seemingly suggested she hasn’t ruled out returning to ‘Strictly’.
She said: “‘Strictly’ has been everything to me and has given me this amazing platform that I have. No, I’m not done – it still has a place in my heart.”

Ray Liotta was ‘adamant’ about finishing filming Goodfellas before seeing his dying mother.

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Scorsese says Ray Liotta was “adamant” about finishing a scene before going to see his dying mother.
The ‘Goodfellas’ director called watching the late actor – who died, aged 67, late last month while filming ‘Dangerous Waters’ in the Dominican Republic – play Henry Hill in the legendary 90s mob movie “a rare experience” amid the news of his mother Marty Liotta’s cancer diagnosis.
In an op-ed penned for the Guardian newspaper on Monday (06.06.22), the 79-year-old movie maker wrote: “I told him that he had to go to be with her, but he was adamant: he wanted to do the scene before he left. We walked to the set together, everyone was told what was happening, and something extraordinary happened when we rolled. The scene was all about the euphoria of the characters after making their first big score, and everyone came together in an emotional bond around Ray: as everyone was laughing and celebrating, they were mourning with him at the same time. Laughter and tears, tears and laughter … they were one and the same. Ray did the scene so beautifully, and then he left to be with his beloved mother. It was a rare experience.”
Martin “will never forget” the time he filmed together – along with his co-stars Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro – after he got the sad news.
He wrote: “I will never forget the day we shot the scene where Henry, Tommy (Joe Pesci) and Jimmy (Robert De Niro) bring their tribute money from the Air France heist to Paulie, played by Paul Sorvino. When they were setting up, I got word that Ray had just gotten a call with bad news. I went right to his trailer and found him completely distraught. His mother was dying. I remember that he kept saying: “She adopted me and raised me, she’s the sweetest woman there is – why does she have this terrible cancer? Why?”
The ‘Taxi Driver’ director also detailed how he fought to cast Ray in the 1990 adaptation of crime journalist Nicholas Pileggi’s 1985 book ‘Wiseguy’ after seeing him in ‘Something Wild’ and how he wished he “had the chance” to talk the ‘Marriage Story’ one more time.
Martin said: “I wish I’d had the chance to see him just once more, too – to tell him just how much the work we did together meant to me. But maybe he knew that. I hope so.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Sweeney once sang at a nightclub to pay the drinks bill.
The 51-year-old actress – who is best known for having played Lindsey Corkhill in Channel 4 soap opera ‘Brookside’ during the 1990s – took a gaggle of friends to gay cabaret bar in London after finishing a show and only realised the next day that she hadn’t picked up the tab.
She said: “I’d just done Brasserie Zédel, it had gone a storm, it had been fabulous, [lyricist] Don Black had been there, everyone had been there, and I had all my gays there as well, and I went, ‘Right come on we’re going to Freedom!’ So, I walk in with all my gang of gays, sit down and I’m like, ‘Prosecco for everyone!’
I don’t drink so much these days, but I’d had a few drinks. And walked out, I gave a big showbiz wave to everyone and didn’t pay my bill! And I’d invited everyone, so I didn’t expect anyone else to pay anything and I’m giving it “See you! See you back next week!’ Big exit, you know!”
Claire – who since her time in ‘Brookside’ has gone on to a successful career in musical theatre with roles in shows such as ‘Chicago’ and ‘Hairspray’ – explained that she immediately got in touch with the club’s manager to pay up, but he insisted that she return to Freedom to perform two songs instead.
Speaking on ‘The Hundamental Guide to Life’ podcast, she added: “I phoned Nathan the next day and I was like ‘Did I pay my bill, he went no, I went, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Let me give you my credit card details. And he said ‘No, give me two songs, next time you’re in, give me two songs.’ I went, ‘Let me pay the bill. He said, ‘No I want you to sing!’
“So I went ‘There’s worse things you do than sing in a cheeky Cabaret’ I loved it. And I practiced and then I went and did my songs. And I remember that night, it was, oh my God, it was so, so funny. I got up and I sang and I told that story on stage I said ‘I’m here tonight, I’m paying my bill!'”

Dame Arlene Phillips: I’m so lucky to have my career at 79

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Arlene Phillips feels “lucky” to have had such a successful career.
The 79-year-old choreographer recently worked on the new West End production of the classic musical ‘Grease’ and insists that she has no intention to slow down.
She said: “Oh, my job is never done! I feel so lucky to have had the career that I’ve had and I shall go on.”
The former ‘I’m a Celebrity star – who was nominated for an Olivier Award for work on the first revival production of ‘Grease’ back in 1993 and went on to choreograph London productions of ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ – is now directing the UK tour of the jukebox musical ‘The Cher Show’ and can relate to the ‘Believe’ hitmaker because of her attitude towards ageing.
She told The Metro newspaper: “It was an absolute yes [to do this show]. Cher’s a woman who owns who she is. And also I love her attitude toward ageing. Ageing is what you are inside. [Like Cher] I try to keep the boundless energy that goes on inside of me as a force to be able to do what I love.”
Arlene shot to mainstream fame as one of the four judges on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ alongside Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel-Horwood and Len Goodman from 2004 until 2008 and – despite being axed without warning in favour of younger pop star Alesha Dixon – insisted that while she “didn’t deserve” to be ousted from her role insisted it was “only a job” and never thought the move was ageist.
Arlene recalled: “I didn’t want anything… I said to myself ‘just try to put it aside. It’s only a job’. I didn’t deserve that, it wasn’t right. But in terms of age, I never thought it was that.”

Love Island 2022’s first couples revealed after twist-filled launch show

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s first fresh set of couples have been decided after a twist-filled launch show.
Instead of the first 10 male and female contestants deciding who they want to pair up with as in previous series, the Monday night (06.06.22) episode of the eighth series saw fans choosing the castmates’ matches.
The show also ended with the first ‘bombshell’ entrant learning he would be coupling with a girl of his choice, awkwardly leaving one male Islander single and vulnerable.
Girls Gemma, Tasha, Amber, Paige and Indiyah joined host Laura Whitmore in the show’s Majorca villa expecting to see the boys walk out one-by-one.
Laura, 37, then announced this year’s set up would be a Love Island first and they wouldn’t be getting a say in their initial couplings.
The show had announced the shake-up on Twitter ahead of the launch, with the public told to make their decisions days before the show kicked off.
A tweet on the ITV2 series’ account said: “For the first time ever, you get to have your say on who couples up on Day 1! Head to the app to play matchmaker and pick which boy you think should couple up with each girl. The polls will close at 9am Saturday.”
The first show also saw another shake up when a bombshell arrival was announced in the form of 27-year-old ‘Italian stallion’ Davide Sanclimenti.
Model Tasha Ghouri said about the surprise entrant: “Straight away I was like, ‘Wow. Fit. Hot. Sexy. Hercules’”, while paramedic Paige Thorne added: “I’m done. I’m ready to get married. I’m ready to have babies.”
Indiyah Polack said about Davide, after she had been matched with Ikenna Ekwonna: “When I saw him I was very confused because I had no warning, but he is very good looking.”
Business owner and gym addict Davide said: “When I walked into the villa, I saw all the girls and I’m really impressed, I’m not going to lie.”
One of the show’s most high-profile entrants Gemma Owen, 19 – daughter of ex-footballer Michael Owen, 42 – was paired with 22-year-old Welsh personal trainer Liam Llewellyn.
The dressage rider said about the viewers’ choice: “He’s cute, I’m happy. I’m looking for a guy that is really family orientated, that is so important. Good morals.”
Masters student Liam said: “I’m a happy man, 100 per cent,” before adding in awe of Gemma’s life as the daughter of a multi-millionaire: “You have 12 horses? At home? You must have a big house. Well, horses are outside.”
Real estate agent Andrew Le Page, 27, said about being paired with deaf model Tasha, 23: “Good vibes. I can feel it already.”
Tasha, from North Yorkshire, said about the Jersey lad: “Good vibes. I can feel it already.”
She added he was “on onion” with layers who she hoped was a “good onion”.
Nanny Amber Beckford, 24, was paired with 26-year-old microbiologist Dami Hope, from Dublin.
The scientist exclaimed: “I’m happy!”, while Amber said: “I think I would have stepped forward for you.”
Fishmonger Luca Bish, 23, from Brighton, appeared happy with his match Paige Thorne, 24.
But she hinted Liam was more her type, confessing in the Beach Hut: “Me and Gemma might go after the same guy quite a lot.”
Waitress and model Indiyah, 23, said she was “gassed” bout being couple with AstraZeneca employee Ikenna Ekwonna, also 23.
She added her type is well-dressed as well as “tall, clean shaven… someone who has good banter and really takes good care of themselves”.
Indiyah also warned: “I take good care of myself so you need to do the same.”
The first episode also saw islanders play a game of dares, with Davide having to do a “strip tease”.
Gemma refused to perform a lap dance for Liam, and dared to kiss the Islander she wants to share a bed with, the teenager grabbed Davide for a brief kiss, leaving Liam stunned.
Gemma later admitted she felt there was “something missing” in Liam and said she was most “physically attracted” to Davide.
The Italian then got a cliffhanger text which said he will have to couple up with the girl of his choice 24 hours later.
Love Island continues tomorrow (07.06.22) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub, with episodes available the following morning on BritBox.

Denise Van Outen signs up to online dating app

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen has signed up to online dating.
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star – who will appear alongside Duncan James on the Channel 4 show as the Blue singer replaces her ex Eddie Boxshall – has revealed she’s preparing to change her “old fashioned” approach in the search for love.
Appearing on Fearne Cotton’s ‘Happy Place’ podcast, she said: “I did download a dating app the other day but I haven’t gone on it. I’m too scared.
“It would be my first ever. I’ve never done it before. I know it is the modern way but I’m also very old fashioned – my morals, my values, the way I approach relationships.
“I don’t know if I’ll be ready to swipe just yet. But I’m definitely getting there, because two months ago I wouldn’t have even considered it.”
Denise and Eddie split in January after seven years together, and she has turned to therapy to help her with the aftermath of the breakup.
She explained “I wouldn’t say I’m fully healed but I am getting there. Also, for the first time in my life, I’m doing therapy.
“I wanted to start to understand why there seems to be a pattern as well, not just on the other side of it, but on my side.
“I’m a bit of a fixer, I try to fix people and sometimes it’s too my detriment.
“I don’t know if some of it is because I’ve been working from such a young age so maybe my persona and way I am is to be, ‘Everything’s great, everything’s fine’, when they’re not.”
Denise – who has 12-year-old daughter Betsy with her ex Lee Mead – previously broke her silence about why she ended things with her 48-year-old ex, and explained how “proud” she was of herself.
She said: “The one thing I’m really proud of myself for is I do know when to walk away and I don’t like to be taken advantage of. I’ve always tried to maintain that in anything that I do in life, generally.
“More so now as a mother because I feel like I’m a role model and I’ve got to set an example. The bad times are always followed by good times and that’s what I always look forward to. I think you just ride the wave of the bad times knowing that eventually you will get to a good place.”

Work starts on Death in Paradise Christmas special

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Death in Paradise’ has begun work on another Christmas special.
Ralf Little and his co-stars Don Warrington, Élizabeth Bourgine, Tahj Miles, Shantol Jackson and Ginny Holder are returning to the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe to shoot another feature length episode of the crime drama, following the popularity of last year’s first ever festive installment, with production already underway on the one-off special, before work will move to the upcoming 12th season of the BBC One show
Executive Producer Tim Key said: “We had been wanting to do a ‘Death in Paradise’ Christmas special for years and so to be starting production on our second one this year is brilliant.
“We’ve got a fantastic story which comes loaded with all the mystery, intrigue and surprise that our fans love to see.”
Ralf previously revealed he was made an exception to one of the show’s “strict” rules to allow him to take on the role as DCI Neville Parker.
Unlike many other drama series, actors are not allowed to appear as more than one character, however briefly, but he previously played Will Teague back in 2013.
He said: “I was actually in series two of ‘Death in Paradise’ as a guest, so I’m the only actor that’s been in it twice now.”
Asked if it was true that was something bosses are usually strict about, he confirmed: “Apparently so. I’d been in ‘Heartbeat’ about five times before I was 21! That was a whole different thing.
“So yeah, they really try not to double up, but they made the exception. Luckily I wasn’t a murderer or a victim in the first one, so I think I was able to get away with coming back again.”
Last year’s ‘Death in Paradise’ Christmas special attracted an audience of over 8.8 million people, making it the third most-watched show of the festive period.

Deadpool 3 ‘won’t be Disney-fied’ as franchise stays ‘rated R’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool 3’ won’t be “Disney-fied” after the company’s Fox acquisition.
Writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are currently working on the upcoming third film in the Marvel blockbuster franchise – which stars Ryan Reynolds as the X-rated antihero mercenary – and Reese has reassured fans after Disney bought film studio Fox in 2019, meaning they have taken over the series after two successful outings.
Speaking to ‘The Playlist’, he said: “It’s these [Disney] people and these people do things their way.
“And we were used to doing things our way, so there are differences, but I think the great part is that Marvel’s been incredibly supportive.
“They are gonna let Deadpool be Deadpool, you know? It’s not like any particular joke may be the one that they say, ‘You know, that’s too far,’ that could happen, but to this point, it’s been nothing but support.
“It’s been nothing but, ‘How can we help you?’ What from our universe would you like to use? How can we make your life easy? And we’re gonna let Deadpool be Deadpool. We’re not… this is not going to be the Disney-fied ‘Deadpool.’ ”
Meanwhile, Reese confirmed the third movie will also be rated R like its two predecessors, and he doesn’t expect Disney to “mess with the tone”.
He added: “Oh, absolutely. They’re not gonna mess with the tone.
“I mean, I’d never say never, I guess there’s an outside chance, but we’ve always been told it can be R-[rated] and we’re proceeding as if it’s R.
“We would like it to be R, we always have, so I don’t think that’ll change.”
‘The Adam Project’ director Shawn Levy will be at the helm of the third movie, which currently doens’t have a confirmed release date.

Maria Bakalova joins Guardians of the Galaxy 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Maria Bakalova has a role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’.
The ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ actress joined cast regulars including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Karen Gillan in filming the next installment in the franchise, with Deadline reporting she has a “key” part to play in the film.
However, details of her exact role have been kept under wraps.
While director James Gunn recently teased the involvement of an “unannounced actor” in the film, he was not referring to Maria.
And he admitted he is “surprised” it has taken “so long” for the news of the actress’ involvement to be revealed.
Praising Maria’s performance as “incredible”, he tweeted in response to Deadline’s article on the news: “Yes yes yes, okay, I guess I should be surprised it took you guys this long to get this one.
“@MariaBakalova96 is incredible. #gotgvol3 (sic)”
The 55-year-old filmmaker teased the involvement of a mystery cast member last month when he confirmed filming had wrapped.
Explaining why Zoe was missing from a photo of himself laughing with Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Karen, Dave, and his brother Sean Gunn, he wrote: “And that’s a picture wrap on the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.
“I love this amazing cast crew their beautiful talent kind souls. I’m a lucky human to have them on the journey with me for nearly a decade.
“And yes Zoe was with us but the only picture I have with her has an unannounced actor with us!”
James previously admitted there had been a “lot of sadness” on the set of the film – which is due for release in May 2023 – because everyone was aware it was their last outing.
A Twitter user asked: “Mr Gunn, how are the vibes on set?”
In reply, James tweeted: “Honestly they’re great, I love this cast and crew, but there is also a lot of sadness and near-daily tears knowing this is the last Guardians movie for most of us. #gotgvol3.”

EastEnders expands Baker family with new actors joining Albert Square

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ is expanding the Baker family with Omar Lye-Fook joining the cast.
Mitch Baker – who is played by Roger Griffiths on the BBC soap – is set for a busy summer with his estranged brother Avery (Lye-Fook) and two nephews Felix (Matthew Morrison) and Finlay (Ashley Byam) turning up in Albert Square.
Executive producer Chris Clenshaw said: “The Baker Family bring a fresh, fierce, fun and exciting energy to the Square.
“Felix and Finlay are two very different firecrackers and, yes, these brothers fall out, take the mick and challenge each other, but none of that compares to their unswerving love and loyalty they have for one another.
“They may be charming young men, full of sass, swagger and strength but these brothers are Bakers and, like their father, Avery, have their own unique way of surviving.

The new trio have started filming with their first scenes set to air over summer.
Omar commented: “I’ve been watching EastEnders since I was at school so it’s such a surreal experience to now be part of the show.
“I’m having so much fun and it’s an honour to be working alongside this incredible cast.”
Matthew added: “It’s an honour to be a part of such a legendary show that I grew up watching. It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, and I don’t think it ever will.
“I’m having a ball getting to grips with Felix and cannot wait for you all to meet him!”
And Ashley said: “I’m very excited to be joining the Square. Like many people I grew up with ‘EastEnders’; it was almost like an unspoken family tradition.
“My mum and I sat there together watching so many incredible and iconic storylines. So to now be joining this classic British TV drama is an honour, and I’m truly grateful.
“I can’t wait for everyone to meet Finlay and see what lies ahead for him.”

Jim Moir will ‘kill off’ Vic Reeves after ‘swansong’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jim Moir is set to retire the Vic Reeves character after ‘The Glove’.
The 63-year-old comedian – who has performed under the moniker for decades alongside co-star Bob Mortimer in the likes of ‘The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer’ and ‘Shooting Stars’ – is ready to say goodbye to the character after a “swansong” movie.
Speaking to David White’s BBC Radio Cornwall show, he said: “Vic Reeves was a character that I invented when I was at art school actually, I put him on stage.
“And I haven’t done him for a while. Bob [Mortimer] and me wrote a film, about 12 years ago, which we keep threatening to do and we’ve been asked to do, so we might do that next year.
“And that will be probably the final appearance of Vic Reeves.”
Last year, Jim revealed the duo were set to start filming in 2022 for the movie, although the plans have since been pushed back.
He added: “He [Jackson] had a training glove and few people knew of it but it was what gave him his special powers to entrance the globe and a collector’s got it and we’re hoping to have a big star in it.”
Meanwhile, the comedian previously revealed he has been left permanently deaf in one ear by an inoperable tumour in his head.
He is living with a vestibular schwannoma, a non-removable growth which requires him to have regular MRI scans to check its size and has permanently destroyed the hearing in his left ear.
He explained: “I’ve got a vestibular schwannoma – it’s a tumour in my head. I’ve gone completely deaf, 100 per cent deaf, in the left ear, and it will never come back.
“It’s dead – absolutely completely gone. It’s like the size of a grape so they just have to keep an eye on it.
“It’s benign. They can’t remove it – they can shrink it or they can leave it and keep an eye on it, and that’s what they’re doing.
“The eardrum and your brain, there’s a nerve and that takes all the information from your ear to your brain and the tumour is right in between the nerve, so it’s gone ping and snapped it and you can’t reattach nerves.
“I’d rather hear than not, but it’s happened so you just get on with it don’t you. I’ve got used to it.”

Adam Woodyatt, Mr. Motivator and more become drag queens for new ITV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt, Simon Gregson and Mr. Motivator are becoming drag queens for a new show.
Lorraine Kelly will host one-off competition ‘Queens For The Night’ – which is set to air later this year on ITV – with a judging panel made up of Spice Girls legend Melanie C, comedian Rob Beckett, drag queen Courtney Act and West End star Layton Williams.
As well as the soap favourites and fitness icon, Union J and former ‘I’m A Celebrity’ runner-up George Shelley will also take part alongside England rugby star Joe Marler.
The prime time programme will see the famous faces unleash their own drag alter egos in a bid to be crowned Queen.
They will each have their own mentor with Asttina Mandela, La Voix, Blu Hydrangea, Kitty Scott-Claus, Myra DuBois and Margo Marshall all taking part.
The celebrities will have to get to grips with high heels and a range of disciplines, including singing, dancing, lip syncing, impressions, comedy and even dragic (drag magic).
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning, said: “‘Queens For The Night’ will have all the wow factor you would expect from this wonderful celebration of drag, and a perfect way to showcase everything that makes drag performance such a sensation.”
Lorraine – who has appeared as a guest judge on BBC series ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ – added: “I’m so excited to be hosting this show. I am a huge fan of Drag and can not wait to see a host of well known stars embrace this uniquely wonderful and uplifting skill.
“It’s a show that will have humour, warmth and above all lots and lots of glamour, I can’t wait to get started.”
While comedian Rob commented: “I know just how hard this is after attempting drag myself with my mate Romesh. I love drag, I think it’s such an underappreciated art-form.
“The celebrities will find out that it’s more than just putting on makeup and heels, there is such a skill to it and when done right is such a joy to watch.
“Will I be tempted to pop on the heels one more time? Who knows… maybe!”

Ardal O’Hanlon faked paralysis to watch 1974 World Cup

OHMYGOSSIP — Ardal O’Hanlon pretended to be paralysed so he could watch the 1974 World Cup.
The ‘Father Ted’ star admitted he was so obsessed with the football tournament – which was staged in West Germany that summer – that he came up with an outrageous plan to miss piano lessons and catch the games.
As quoted by the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I didn’t want to miss a single match. I knew every player and I just couldn’t wait for it.
“I wasn’t missing anything and I was fine being pampered and being carried up the stairs, I loved it.”
The ‘Death In Paradise’ actor revealed he “got better” after being given a ‘placebo’ by a doctor.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old star – who is known for playing Father Dougal McGuire in classic sitcom ‘Father Ted’ – recently suggested comedy has “changed a lot” since he first started out, and people have to be “a lot more careful” nowadays.
He said: “It has [changed] a lot. You have to be more careful about what you say with social media.
“Any little faux pas or slip-up will be seized upon so you censor yourself a bit more. There are far more female comedians now, from more diverse backgrounds, more disabled comedians, so there’s great variety.
“And it’s kind of changed slightly from joke tellers to storytellers. People are telling their story, which is unique to them. Ultimately, the objective is the same, which is to make people laugh.”
And the funnyman noted the way Father Ted’s popularity “opened doors” for him in a way he never thought possible.
He explained: “It [changed my life] to some degree. I was getting on fine doing stand-up in London at the time and was really enjoying it.
“But ‘Father Ted’ takes you to another level, it opens doors for you in a way that I never imagined.”
