Liam Llewellyn quits Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Llewellyn has quit ‘Love Island’.
The 22-year-old MA student had been taking part in the hit ITV2 dating show – which returned to screens last Monday (06.06.22) – but has reportedly walked away from the Mallorca villa, with “huge” scenes to be played out on Friday night’s episode.
A source told The Sun: “The reasons behind it are unknown so viewers will be glued to their screens tonight to find out. Whatever Liam tells the Islanders, there’s nothing like a fire pit announcement for high drama – it has to be something huge!”
During his brief time on the show, Liam was first coupled up with Gemma Owen, 19, – who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen – but on the second night of the programme, she hastily dumped him for the self-styled ‘Italian stallion’ Davide, 27, when he arrived as a bombshell on Tuesday.
Liam – who hails from Newport, South Wales and is the son of former rugby star David Llewellyn – initially faced eviction upon finding himself single but his luck seemed to be improving when he went on a date with both Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Afia Tonkmor on Thursday night’s edition.
On the show, he told club lounge host Afia: “I like your vibe. You’re just a laugh, a bubbly, outgoing girl and that’s exactly what I want. You’re definitely my type, 100 %.”
Liam was also seen to be flirting with Turkish actress and influencer Ekin-Su from the offset when they met.
She says: “You’ve got really nice eyes, the colour of the sea, almost like you can kind of swim in it and get lost.”
Liam jokes back: “Are you getting a bit lost?”, prompting Ekin-Su to admit: “Maybe I am. Your eyes are just hypnotising me, I love blue eyes.”
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Gemma Owen at centre of blazing ‘Love Island’ feud between admirers Davide Sanclimenti and Luca Bish

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Owen is at the centre of a blazing ‘Love Island’ feud between her two biggest villa admirers.
Italian Davide Sanclimenti, 27, and fishmonger Luca Bish, 23, go head-to-head over the teenage daughter of ex-footballer Michael Owen, 42, on tonight’s episode. (10.06.22)
The lads’ face off over the 19-year-old dressage rider starts when Luca is told by the his male castmates Davide wants a word.
Luca approaches Davide and says: “I hear you’re p***** off that I took Gemma for a chat.”
Davide responds: “I am not p***** off you took Gemma for a chat, why did you not come and tell me? At least have the b**** to come and tell me, ‘Oh look Davide, I fancy her’.”
Luca says: “It’s not that I’ve not got the b****, we are in the same villa, you’re going to see it aren’t you.”
It comes after Thursday night’s episode ended with Davide promising to confront Luca over his private chat with Gemma.
Luca, from Brighton, used the conversation to tell her he was desperate for them to kiss.
Hidden from the rest of the contestants, Luca declared he would swap beds to be with her if she gave him the option.
He added: “I really want to kiss you” – but Gemma rebuffed him by saying: “No, not yet.”
Gemma dropped more hints about the identity of her multi-millionaire dad by saying Luca they would get on outside the ITV2 reality show due to their shared love for football.
The drama will be part of an episode tonight that will also see the explosive moment Liam Llewellyn sensationally quits the villa, leaving his co-stars stunned.
He has walked off the show and decided to head home despite an upcoming recoupling of contestants.
Liam’s early departure means the door is now open for a new singleton to join the villa.
An insider told The Sun: “The reasons behind it are unknown so viewers will be glued to their screens tonight to find out.”
His exit bizarrely comes after he revelled in charming the show’s two new bombshells on dates on Thursday’s episode.
He was seen flirting with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 27, and Afia Tonkmor, 25, after Davide decided to couple with Gemma, leaving Welsh Master’s student Liam single.
He failed to bowl over either of the bombshells, with Ekin and Afia both saying they had their eye on other castmates.
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.

Liam Llewellyn quit ‘Love Island’ after only four days in the villa as he couldn’t ‘be myself’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Llewellyn quit ‘Love Island’ after only four days in the villa as he felt he was not being himself on the show.
Tonight’s episode (10.06.22) saw the 22-year-old Master’s student explain to his castmates why he was leaving in an emotional firepit chat.
He also sat down with Gemma Owen, 19, who he was first coupled with before she chose Davide Sanclimenti, to explain his thinking behind walking away from the ITV2 reality show.
He said: “So, I’ve got to speak to you all, obviously we all came here for the same sort of reason but I haven’t really been feeling like I’ve been giving 100% Liam.
“I know what 100% Liam looks like and I am miles off that. I literally feel like you’re missing out on 90% of what normal Liam offers.
“I’ve been thinking long and hard, like this isn’t a spur of the moment type thing. Trying to find someone to leave the villa with that you care about, like obviously, that’s a goal isn’t it?
“When you’re not feeling that, I feel like that makes it a very hard sort of time to find that.
“So, yeah, I’ve made the decision that I am gonna leave the villa. It’s been a breeze, it’s been an absolute ball, you are all unreal.”
Leaving his stunned co-stars, Liam then sat down with Gemma, daughter of ex-footballer Michael Owen, 42.
The dressage rider told him: “I wasn’t expecting that from you,” with Liam replying: “I am not myself at all.”
When she told him it was a “big decision” he added it had been “brewing”.
Gemma said about how his exit made her feel guilty: “It’s just a shame because obviously we get on well and we started it together, it’s going to be weird to see you go and not have you around. It’s going to be different.
“I just from my point of view like, I almost feel a bit like s***, have I done anything?”
Liam reassured her not to be “stupid” as she was an “amazing girl”, adding: “You’ve got nothing to worry about, that’s not even crossed my mind and it shouldn’t cross yours either. Shall we hug it out?”
Liam had set his sights on Gemma from the start of this year’s show, but found himself single after she went for bombshell Italian arrival Davide Sanclimenti, 27.
He then said he was “buzzing” when he landed dates on Thursday (09.06.22) with two female bombshells – Afia Tonkmor, 25, and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 27 – but failed to woo either of the new arrivals.
Despite an impending recoupling on the cards, it was reported earlier today (10.06.22) he would be quitting, with his full explanation due in tonight’s show.
Before entering the show, Liam said in interviews his greatest fear was being seen on TV suffering “rejection”.
A source told The Sun he quit as his “worst fears” of being publicly snubbed by girls had been realised.
Meanwhile, Michael Owen tonight (10.06.22) told the Daily Mail he hated watching kissing scenes featuring his daughter when he started watching ‘Love Island’ for the first time this week.
He said about watching his “pride and joy” snuggle up to Davide: “It’s not something any father wants to watch, is it?”
Owen also insisted his daughter did not want to do kissing scenes, adding: “That was one of the things she was most worried about, the kissing tasks they get set.
“I didn’t know anything about the show, but the worry was that she’d have to kiss this lad and that lad and the next.”
He added about asking his wife about the bed-sharing antics on the show: “I said to Louise (Bonsall), ‘Do they really have to sleep together, like in the same bed?’. She said, ‘Yes’.
“I said, ‘I did not bank on this’.”
‘Love Island: Unseen Bits’ airs tomorrow night (11.06.22) at 9pm, with new episodes of ‘Love Island’ broadcast every night at 9pm except Saturdays on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Chris Hemsworth confirms filming has started on Furiosa

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ prequel has started filming.
Chris Hemsworth – who stars in the much-anticipated movie alongside Anya Taylor-Joy – has confirmed the news via Twitter, posting an image of a clapperboard from the set of ‘Furiosa’.
Chris, 38 – who is perhaps best known for playing Thor in the Marvel movies – captioned the image: “A new journey in the Mad Max saga begins #FURIOSA (sic)”
The highly-anticipated film serves as both a spin-off and a prequel to 2015’s ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, which starred Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron alongside Tom Hardy.
‘Furiosa’ was initially handed a release date of June 2023, but it’s subsequently been delayed until May 2024.
Charlize played the part of Imperator Furiosa in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ – but she later admitted to clashing with Tom on the set of the movie.
The actress confessed to having a difficult time on set, acknowledging that it became a matter of “survival” for her.
She shared: “I think because of my own fear, we were putting up walls to protect ourselves instead of saying to each other, ‘This is scary for you, and it’s scary for me, too. Let’s be nice to each other.’ In a weird way, we were functioning like our characters: Everything was about survival.”
Tom, 44, also accepted that the shoot was a difficult experience.
He said: “I think in hindsight, I was in over my head in many ways.
“The pressure on both of us was overwhelming at times. What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced, partner in me. That’s something that can’t be faked. I’d like to think that now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion.”

Todd Phillips ‘eyed to become an adviser to DC Entertainment’

OHMYGOSSIP — Todd Phillips could become an adviser to DC Entertainment.
The 51-year-old filmmaker enjoyed great success as the director of ‘Joker’ in 2019, and David Zaslav – the President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns DC Entertainment – could now appoint him in a consultancy role.
Todd and David have already developed a strong rapport, and the filmmaker could play an increasingly prominent role in shaping the future of DC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Todd could ultimately take on a Kevin Feige-like role at DC, helping to connect the company’s different film projects and characters to each other.
Kevin, 49, is the President of Marvel Studios and he’s been credited with a lot of the company’s success over the last decade.
Todd received huge acclaim after making the ‘Joker’ movie in 2019. But the director previously claimed that audiences overlooked one of the film’s central themes.
Speaking about the movie – which starred Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character – he explained: “If I had to drill down on one overarching theme for me, it’s about the power of kindness and a lot of people miss that.
“I think if you don’t see that you either don’t have a soul or you’re being reductive to make up for your own struggles in that area.
“But, really, to me, that’s where it started from and there are other things in the movie like lack of love, the lack of empathy in society, and childhood trauma, but the power of kindness really runs through this film.”

Baz Luhrmann says the Elvis’ screening at the Cannes Film Festival was ‘like a real rock concert’

OHMYGOSSIP — Baz Luhrmann says the screening of Elvis’ at the Cannes Film Festival was “like a real rock concert”.
The 59-year-old filmmaker shared that the audience “just went crazy” for Austin Butler’s depiction of the King of Rock’n’Roll during the debut of his biopic of Elvis Presley at the legendary film fest.
Speaking to HeyUGuys at the UK premiere of the movie at the BFI Southbank on Thursday (31.05.22), Baz said: “When Austin, the first thing we shot was the leather suit thing, and when he came on in front of those extras that reaction wasn’t rehearsed. They just went crazy, and at Cannes when he did the leather comeback performance, the entire auditorium broke into applause and the issue is that, I know because, we couldn’t hear the dialogue because they keep applauding, so it seemed like a real rock concert.”
The ‘Moulin Rouge’ director called the performance of the leading man Austin Butler as “once-in-a-lifetime” while praising his “spiritual connection” to the role.
“I’d say once-in-a-lifetime does that come along, at that level. I mean, he lived it for two years, and his spiritual connection with it was so, so profound.”
The 30-year-old actor has spoken about measures he took to embody the ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ hitmaker – who died in 1977 – that led him to need to take a trip to the hospital when shooting wrapped.
Austin said: “The next day I woke up at 4 in the morning with excruciating pain, and I was rushed to hospital. My body just started shutting down the day after I finished Elvis.”
The ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’ star got “chills” when he discovered that they both lost their mother at the tender age of 23.
Austin said: “His mother passed away when he was 23, and my mum passed away when I was 23. So when I learned that, it was one of those things where I got chills, and I just thought, ‘Okay, I can connect to that. I’ve never loved somebody I’ve never met more than Elvis.”

“I never get bored of it, because it’s so unpredictable.

He added: “It’s been different without her in the house. I’ve got other kids and my wife and it’s been quite tough because she’s had to switch her phone off and we’ve had no contact for a couple of weeks so that’s been the hard bit.
“I’ve heard a lot about it. I think old, grumpy men like me will always have an opinion on it because I don’t watch it and you just hear the snippets, but she assures me that it’s not as bad as I think.
“So, we’ll give it a watch and I hope she enjoys herself.”

It was an easy shot of Rocket seated, 1st with @seangunn , and then nothing there, and took everything in me not to break down sobbing on the spot.
“Again, I’ll still be working with them over the next year until release, but shooting that last shot was a reminder of the warm impermanence of life and love, and how that impermanence makes it so precious, so valuable, and is a good reason to be grateful for what I have right now.
“Anyway. The camera crew also stuck their hand-made camera lens caps on the back of the slate for me. Much love to you all. (sic)”

Isabela Merced joins the Madame Web movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Isabela Merced has been added to the cast of ‘Madame Web’.
The 20-year-old actress is set to star alongside Dakota Johnson in the Spider-Man spin-off film.
Isabela – who appeared in ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ in 2017 – will also be joined on screen by Sydney Sweeney and Celeste O’Connor.
The movie will focus on the character of Madame Web, an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis, a condition that causes muscle weakness.

Speaking about her part in the Netflix movie, Isabela shared: “Oh, that was really fun.
“I was really competitive as a kid, with my brothers. I have two brothers, and my dad seemed to like children being athletic, so I felt like I had to be. I had to be the best at everything. As a middle child, I had to excel at everything. So, we did a bit of jujitsu growing up, and I think that’s kind of how I picked it up fast. I’m assuming, I don’t know.
“But it was a lot of fun because I can apply it to my real life.”
