OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Whitehouse is planning to take his ‘Only Fools and Horses The Musical’ show on tour.
The 64-year-old comedian has admitted he would love to go on the road with the West End production, which is based on the sitcom of the same name.
He said: “There are plans in the future to take it on tour.”
Paul plays Grandad in the musical – which first started in 2019 – but the star admitted he used to wake up in the early hours wondering what he had done when he first thought about putting the show on, because of the popularity of the TV series.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “We felt a little bit concerned at the start, as you can imagine, because there’s a lot of pressure.
“I’d wake up at three o’clock in the morning thinking, ‘Oh no, what have I done?’ ”
Paul co-wrote the show alongside late ‘Only Fools’ creator John Sullivan’s son Jim Sullivan, but he recently admitted he lives in fear of Sir David Jason – who played Del Boy Trotter in the legendary series – turning up to watch his ‘Only Fools’ musical.
He said: “That’s not what you want, is it? Can you imagine if David Jason turned up? If David Jason turned up there would be a riot I think. I think the audience would go crazy.
“I honestly think if he turned up we wouldn’t be able to do the show.”
The ‘Fast Show’ star said the cast felt pressure when the Boycie actor John Challis – who died in his sleep from cancer in September 2021 aged 79 – went to see the musical.
The musical was one of the most popular shows in London before the pandemic closed theatres in March 2020, and received a raft of five stars reviews when it opened.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Screw’ has been renewed for a second series.
The creator of the Channel 4 prison drama – which stars ‘Derry Girls’ star Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and ‘His Dark Materials’ actress Nina Sosanya – is “delighted” it has been green lit for another season after the heartbreaking events of the first six episodes.
Rob Williams, the show’s writer and executive producer, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to get the opportunity to dig deeper into the complicated characters on C Wing – we have a lot more stories to tell – and to continue working with the incredible team at Channel 4.”
The channel’s bosses are also “thrilled” to welcome viewers to dig deeper into the happenings of C Wing in the follow-up, which is being filmed at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall.
The head of Channel 4 drama, Caroline Hollick, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome back the staff and prisoners of C Wing. Rob has created an iconic Channel 4 prison series with a fantastic cast and we can’t wait to jump back into the drama, humanity and humour of life behind bars in series two.”
Executives at STV Studios “couldn’t be happier to be partnering” with the team again.
The studio’s creative director, Sarah Brown, said: “It’s been thrilling to see audiences take Rob’s fantastic characters to their hearts so readily and in such big numbers.

OHMYGOSSIP — James Buckley is interested in taking part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The former ‘Inbetweeners’ star is keen to be part of the ITV reality show because he finds it the “most interesting” of all the celebrity competition programmes, he but would need to receive the right pay cheque to enter the Australian jungle, where the show is returning after two seasons in Wales due to COVID-19.
In a video for his ‘At Home With the Buckleys’ YouTube series, the 34-year-old actor: “I’m not a huge fan of celebrity reality shows.
“But out of all of them, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ does seem to be the most interesting – and it feels like a challenge.
“I’d be cold, I’d be hungry and even if we win a meal, I’d be like, ‘I just want a Big Mac’.
“That is why I’d never do it. But don’t get me wrong, if they show up with the reddies, Ant and Dec, give me a call.”
But James recently admitted “there’s not enough money in the world” for him to reprise his role as Jay Cartwright in the E4 sitcom.
The star – who has sons Harrison and Jude with his wife Clair – said: “I don’t want to go near it anymore, not because I don’t think I would have an amazing time doing it, because I know I would.
“I love the boys, I love the writers. Doing ‘The Inbetweeners’ was the best job in the world. All we did was muck around all day long and they filmed us doing it, and, at the end of the day, we might have had an episode … or a film or something.
“But it might – you know, as I’m getting older – it’s looking like it might be the only thing that I do professionally that is universally loved. There’s not enough money in the world for me to spoil that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Niamh Algar will star in new ITV medical thriller ‘Malpractice’.
The five-part drama will be executive produced by Simon Heath, CEO of World Productions, and will star BAFTA nominee actress Niamh, who is “over the moon” about the programme.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this project. I was blown away by Grace Ofori-Attah’s script and the team attached in creating ‘Malpractice’. I’m a huge fan of Phil Barantini’s work, his movie ‘Boiling Point’ is an astonishing piece of work and I’m so excited to see how he approaches ‘Malpractice’.
“I’m absolutely over the moon that we are working together on this special series.”
Simon added: “Grace’s brilliant scripts combine a searing insight into the pressures and politics of hospital life with a gripping and timely thriller. It’s those terrific scripts that have attracted talent of the calibre of Phil and Niamh. We’re thrilled to be working with them all.”
The series which has been commissioned by ITV’s head of drama, Polly Hill, and has been written by former doctor Grace Ofori-Attah, who worked in the NHS for over 10 years.
Grace said: “I’d worked as an NHS doctor for over a decade when I first came to World with an idea that would become ‘Malpractice’.
“‘Malpractice’ explores the inevitable pressure-cooker created when doctors under investigation are forced to second-guess their clinical decisions, justify their every action but carry on with the day job as normal.
“It has been an absolute joy and privilege creating ‘Malpractice’ with the team at World, who are well-versed in creating drama that’s endlessly entertaining and surprising, and I can’t wait to see it on screen.”
Polly added: “Grace’s scripts are a brilliant mix of compelling medical thriller and an authentic medical world that comes from her time as a doctor.

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ star Abi Rawlings has urged this year’s contestants to “be authentic” as people will “see through” them otherwise.
The 28-year-old tattoo artist from Bournemouth, who took part in the seventh season of the hit ITV2 dating show, gained a huge following on Instagram after leaving the villa, but says people shouldn’t go into the programme thinking about the fame and followers.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “If you go in there generally for love, it actually doesn’t matter what happens. Say for example when there’s a situation like, ‘I might get sent home here, so I’m going to act out of character and hope to stay.’
“I feel like it’s really obvious when you do stuff like that, and people can see through it; it shows you’re not being authentic.
“So if you actually go in with the attitude of ‘I’m here for love, I don’t care about the Instagram followers or the fame that could potentially come with it’, then I think you’ll show your true self.
“You won’t come across as someone who’s a little bit of a try hard just trying to get a little bit of this where they can. Basically just be authentic or else people will see through it.”
Abi has admitted she “struggled” with all the attention after leaving the villa.
She added: “When I first came out [of the villa] I definitely did struggle a little bit, because I’ve never had so many eyes on me.
“Before ‘Love Island’, I only had a tattoo Instagram account, which was a work profile. I didn’t even have a private profile. But once I got in, I didn’t want people to follow that page unless they actually were interested in tattoos, so I created a personal account.
“Everything was very new, and I did hide away for a little bit to digest it all. At first I found it really scary when strangers would talk to me, and because they watched me on telly they would talk to me like they were an old friend rather than a stranger.
“It would throw me – I’d be like, ‘Do I know you, have I tattooed you?’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Lucas was shocked to find out a relative of his features in Anne Frank’s ‘The Diary of A Young Girl’.
The The Great British Bake Off’ co-presenter was taken aback to discover during an episode of ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ that Werner Goldschmidt, a cousin of his grandmother, was “actually mentioned” in the famous book, which was penned by Anne before she and her family were captured by the Nazis during the Second World War.
When quizzed whether he was surprised at the revelation, the 48-year-old comedian said while appearing on the BBC One show: “Yes, my ancestor would have known Anne Frank, the writer of one of the most important books ever written. And Werner is actually mentioned in the diary.
“It’s the one story everyone knows if you know no other story, that story about what happened to the Jews in World War Two, you know the story of the Frank family.
“I read it when I was younger and never realised she was talking about a relative of mine.”
In November last year, Matt was granted German citizenship after his grandmother “fled Berlin in 1938” to escape Adolf Hitler’s persecution.
He wrote on Twitter: “My grandma fled Berlin in 1938. Having been offered citizenship, I have just been to the German Embassy in London to collect my Certificate of Naturalisation. I am officially Anglo-German. They gave me some Gummibarchen and this lovely badge. Now to choose a German football team.”
In response, FC Union Berlin replied” “Willkommen,” translated to “welcome”.
The former ‘Little Britain’ star – who is a big supporter of Arsenal – took this as a sign.
Matt quipped: “I have been claimed by Union Berlin, it seems. My new German team, then!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gorka Marquez has been forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing’s summer tour due to injury.
The 31-year-old pro dancer took to Instagram to reveal he’s had a flair up of an injury he picked up during the ‘Strictly Professionals’ tour, and following medical advice he has withdrawn from the ‘Strictly Presents’ shows.
He wrote: “I am so sad to announce that, following medical advice, I have to withdraw from the ‘Strictly Presents’ tour
During the ‘Strictly Professionals’ tour I suffered an injury that, with treatment and care, let me carry on through the last few weeks of the tour.
Unfortunately last week I had a flair up of my injury causing me a lot of pain and problems, even to walk. Following the advise from doctors and physios, I have had to stop my involvement in this new tour. (sic)”
Gorka was once again due to dance with former ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith – who he finished joint second alongside in Strictly’s 19th series in 2020 – on the tour, but he is now trying to rest and recuperate ahead of the new ‘Strictly’ series later this year.
He added: “I am very sad not to be able to perform and dance again with @maisiesmithofficial (and the rest of the cast!) but I know the show will be amazing and the audience will be in for a real treat.
Now it is time to rest and rehab so I can be ready for Strictly 2022.
All the love and keep dancing!!!! (sic)”
Gorka’s partner Gemma Atkinson – who he shares two-year-old daughter Mia with – feels “proud” of how the dancer has got through the pain of the last few weeks.
She commented: “Proud of you for getting through those last few weeks! I know how painful it was for you at times. Rest and rehab then back to the show, can’t have you home for too long messing up my routine”
‘Strictly’ pro Dianne Buswell wrote: “Love ya bro xxx take care of ya self (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Attenborough has been given a second knighthood.
The legendary nature documentary presenter was first knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1985 but has now been appointed a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael And St George, a higher accolade, for his services to television broadcasting and conservation.
Prince Charles, himself a committed environmentalist, presented the honour to David, 96, at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday (08.06.22).
The much-loved broadcaster – whose documentary credits include ‘Planet Earth’ and ‘The Green Planet’ – featured during a segment at the Platinum Jubilee concert held outside Buckingham Palace last weekend.
A clip of Attenborough was projected onto the palace while Prince William highlighted the efforts of “visionary environmentalists”.
David previously suggested that the BBC wouldn’t have commissioned his first nature show if it was proposed now.
The broadcaster believes that the channel has changed so much since he made the 1954 programme ‘Zoo Quest, which saw him spend several months in Africa, and doubts the organisation would take such a risk in the modern era.
Attenborough recalled: “Out of the blue I thought it would be wonderful to go to Africa.
“To my amazement the bosses at the BBC said, ‘That’s not a bad idea’… and they let me do it. I’m sure I could have done it much better if I’d been more experienced or talented, but we got away with it.
“The BBC said, ‘How long will it take?’ ‘Ooh, three or four months’. ‘Oh well, good luck, my dear chap. Hope to see you at Christmas’.
“It was that kind of organisation at the time, it isn’t like that anymore.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Owen and Davide Sanclimenti go on the first date of the new series of ‘Love Island’.
The 19-year-old dressage rider – the daughter of retired England striker Michael Owen – and Italian hunk Davide, 27, get sent out of the villa for some one-on-one time after Davide chose to couple up with the pretty brunette, who was originally paired up with Welsh personal trainer Liam Llewellyn, 22.
Newcomer Davide, who was introduced to the villa on Monday night (06.06.22), was given 24 hours to pick which of the five girls he wanted to steal.
The dramatic recoupling saw Davide opt to couple with Gemma leaving Liam single.
Speaking in the Beach Hut ahead of her date with Davide, Gemma said: “Hopefully we can have another good chat and I can find out a bit more about him and have that good energy.”
Whilst on their date, on which they get to make lemonade, the talk quickly turned to marriage and kids.
Davide asked: “Do you want to get married? Have you ever thought about it?”
Gemma replied: “Yeah definitely. I’d like to get married and I want to have kids.”
Davide added: “How many?”
Gemma answered: “Like four!”
Davide later said: “I was sure about my decision. What about you?”
Gemma added: “With Liam I’ve told him that I’ll still have chats with him and get to know him a bit more. I also told him I have more of an initial attraction to you than I do for him. I do think you’re a nice genuine guy.”
Despite the recoupling, Liam hasn’t been disheartened and remains hopeful he still has a chance with Gemma.
Speaking at the fire pit with Gemma, he said: “You’re still at the top of my tree! I’ve got a good feeling about you. You are girlfriend material, the way you are and the way you carry yourself.”
Gemma added: “Me being in a couple with him hasn’t changed how I feel about you. I still want to chat to you. It’s still early days. But I can imagine it’s not a nice situation to be in.”
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Owen discussed marriage with Davide Sanclimenti on ‘Love Island’.
The 19-year-old beauty – who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen and his wife Louise – is currently taking part in the smash hit ITV2 reality dating show and went on her first date with self-styled Italian Stallion Davide, 27 on Wednesday’s (08.06.22) episode.
The new couple were sent out of the Mallorca villa into a Spanish location to make lemonade when Davide asked his co-star: “Do you want to get married? Have you ever thought about it?”
Gemma replied: “Yeah definitely. I’d like to get married and I want to have kids. I’d like four kids. I would be doing all the hard work though!”
Prior to being paired up with Davide – who was introduced as a bombshell arrival on Tuesday’s episode – Gemma had been coupled up with Welshman Liam Llewellyn, 22, but was left on his own and Gemma pulled him to the Beach Hut for a heart-to heart.
She said: “It’s not changed how I feel about you. I still want to speak to you, it’s still early days.”
If MA student Liam is still single on Friday, he could face eviction from the show and miss out on the chance to win the £50,000, but things were looking up as he managed to bag himself a date with both Afia and Ekin-Su, who were introduced on Monday’s episodes as the surprise bombshells.
Elsewhere in the episode, Tasha – who had initially been paired up with estate agent Andrew during the first episode – found herself paired up with fishmonger Luca and teased him: “Do you want to rip my clothes off?”, despite Luca having previously boasted about finally “touching ankles” with Paige.

OHMYGOSSIP — Channel 5’s boss knows new recruit Dan Walker better for his stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ than his six years on ‘BBC Breakfast’.
Ben Frow, the channel’s Director of Programming, has confessed he “never watched” Dan on the BBC news show, but is aware that the 45-year-old TV presenter, who is the new the Channel 5 News anchor, did “very well” on the Latin and ballroom series.
According to The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column, Ben told a Royal Television Society talk: “All I know about Dan Walker is … I never watched ‘Breakfast’ … all I knew is that he did very well on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
“So I thought he must be very popular and he reaches a big audience. He was on a list that was presented to me.
“Suddenly he is in my office and I took him out and we done a deal and I was like, ‘Ok now I have got Dan Walker.’ ”
Last month, Dan bowed out of ‘BBC Breakfast’ in an emotional final show, which saw his former co-host Louise Minchin make a one-off return.
He said: “I’ve had so many incredible moments working on this programme and wonderful moments this role has given me. There aren’t many jobs where you get a chance to give a voice to people who don’t have a voice, and to tell other people’s stories.
“It’s been a real privilege to sit here and present this programme.
“The other thing I want to say is thank you for tuning in. Thank you for all the comments, the kind messages, and the many lovely words over the years. And thank you for the support in loads of different things, including the dancing.
“I think it’s safe to say that I, and all of us, we never take any of that for granted, the fact people watch this programme and enjoy this programme, and feel it’s a part of their lives.
“I also wanted to thank the team on ‘BBC Breakfast’. Everybody has been up most of the night making this programme, as they do every day, and you are all, genuinely, some of the best people I’ve ever worked with in my career.
“Thank you for all the support and the help and the love and the hard work as well.
“At a time when trust and truth have never been more important, it’s great to work with a team who do everything to make sure that what we do and what we say is fair and accurate. That is so important.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Hauer has married Jordan Wyn-Jones.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional dancer tied the knot with the fitness professional in an intimate ceremony at Chewton Glen Hotel Spa in Hampshire, south east England, on Tuesday (07.06.22).
Karen, 40, told HELLO!: “It feels like a fairytale day. It felt so special to bring our families and friends together.
“I haven’t seen my family for the last two years so it’s really touching to bring them here and be able to share this amazing moment with them.”
Venezuelan dancer Karen’s fellow ‘Strictly’ pros Janette Manrara and Luba Mushtuk were among her friends in attendance for her nuptials.
The couple went Instagram official in August.
Karen was previously married to ‘Strictly’ pro Kevin Clifton – who is now dating documentary maker Stacey Dooley, after partnering her to victory on the BBC Latin and ballroom show in 2018 – from 2015 to 2018.
In January, Karen revealed she was “slowly recuperating” after injuring her knee, which forced her to watch the show’s December final at home after she suffered a tear on the meniscus and “a cartilage flap”.
She avoided surgery and instead had knee injections, and revealed her significant other Jordan had to help her.
Karen said: “I mean, I am terrified of injections and needles. I hate needles so I’m glad that it happened already.
“I pretty much bit off Jordan’s jacket, but at least I’m not going into surgery which is good for now. I need to rest for a couple of days and then I start rehab on Monday.”
