OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood used to love shoplifting as a youngster.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is best known for his ballroom talents and scathing remarks on the BBC’s Latin and ballroom show, but as a boy he used to steal from shops including Woolworths.
Appearing on Mel Giedroyc’s new Dave series ‘Unforgivable’, he said: “I met a friend who taught me how to shoplift. It was fascinating. I loved it.
“One afternoon I had my school bag full of stuff like coloured pencils, a whole range of texters [marker pens], a jumper, loads of pens, a piece of cheap jewellery – the 70s bracelets.”
However, the 57-year-old star’s luck ran out when he was caught red handed after trying to steal some condensed milk.
Craig admitted facing to face his mother made him change his ways, and he never stole again.
He added: “It was the worst day of my life and I have not stolen another thing from that moment on.
“It taught me a lesson.”
Craig recently appeared on Channel 4’s ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ Pride special alongside his friend Ben Boddard, and he had promised to be “very nice and sweet” on the show.
Speaking before the programme aired, he the acid tongued judge admitted he would “probably” have the same opinion as viewers if he was watching himself on TV.
He said: “I’d probably say, ‘Who is that nasty piece of work on the end? He’s a misery!’
“I’d have the opinion as people on Gogglebox as people have on me – I really am miserable and need to smile a bit more!
“But I am actually very nice and very sweet and people will see that when they see me watching the TV!”
Meanwhile, Craig will be returning to ‘Strictly’ later this year without longtime co-star Bruno Tonilio, who has quit the show to focus on his work in America.
He admitted things won’t be the same without Bruno, but their work together on ‘Craig and Bruno’s Great British Road Trips’ will help ease the pain.
He said: “I am gonna miss him but then I do get to spend quite a few months with him travelling around the country in a Mini so I get my yearly fill which is quite good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall has “always fancied” penning an erotic novel.
The ‘Masked Singer’ judge admitted she would love to write a racy book “under a pseudonym”, and she thinks she’s got the literary talents to make it work.
Speaking to her boyfriend Michael Douglas on their podcast ‘Making the Cut With Davina McCall and Michael Douglas’, she said: “I’ve always fancied the idea of writing an erotic novel under a pseudonym at some point. I think I’d be really good at it.”
The 54-year-old star cited an unnamed pal of hers who had made “a fortune” from writing a boink fest and how much she envied her.
Davina said: “She’s left her job and now makes a fortune from erotic literature, and I am so jealous.”
The original ‘Big Brother’ presenter admitted she would have to “hide them” from her kids – daughters Holly, 20, Tilly, 18, and son Chester, 15, with her ex Matthew Robertson – because the covers tended a bit much.
Davina added: “I’ve got two of her books but I’ll have to hide them from my kids. The covers are too obviously erotic.”
Recently, the ‘Language of Love’ host admitted she didn’t see her 18-year marriage to Matthew as a “failure” and how the perimenopause impacted her professional life.
She said: “That there’s no such thing as failure if you learn something along the way. “With Matthew and me, I don’t see our relationship as a failure. “We were married for 18 years – that was a successful marriage. We didn’t go the distance, but we did well, and we made three great kids.”
“When I became perimenopausal at work I didn’t want to talk to anyone about it … I was doing a live TV show called ‘Stepping Out’ and I was forgetting the names of contestants and making mistakes on the autocue, which I’d never done before.
“One day, the producer came into my dressing room and said, ‘Are you okay? You don’t seem yourself’ and I said ‘Oh, I’m fine.’ Then, when she left, I just cried. I thought ‘What’s happening to me?'”

OHMYGOSSIP — James May is “quietly contemplating” his retirement.
The ‘Grand Tour’ co-host – whose new travel series ‘Our Man In Italy’ is coming to Amazon Prime Video later this month – admitted he is thinking about stepping back from his TV career, and he has been inspired by the tragic death of a “very close friend”.
He told the Radio Times magazine: “I don’t know if it’s because I had a nice time in Italy, or because I’m getting older, or because I’m sick of admin.
“A very close friend of mine died a few weeks ago. He retired early, because he’d always had this fear that his family isn’t very long-lived, and he wanted to swap possessions for experiences and knowledge.
“That’s what he started doing, but unfortunately he got cancer and it killed him.”
His friend’s passing made the AGE-year-old presenter – who previously fronted ‘Top Gear’ on the BBC with his ‘Grand Tour’ co-stars Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond – seriously consider what he wants from life.
He added: “It was quite interesting thinking about that after he’d gone because it takes a certain amount of courage to say, ‘No, I don’t want to telegraph my success and my sophistication. I simply want to have a nice life and contemplate the mystery and wonder of God’s creation.'”
May was asked whether he plans to retire and sell off his cars, and he admitted it could happen sooner than people think.
He said: “It’s something I’m quietly contemplating, and I suspect it’s not far off.”
Meanwhile, Amazon bosses have vowed to keep making new series of ‘The Grand Tour’ until its popularity wanes, because viewers “love it”.
Back in May, Amazon Studio boss Georgia Brown said: “The second thing that hasn’t changed at all since [we launched] in 2018, is we’re still sending three old blokes around the world playing with cars and our customers just love it.
“So we will keep doing it, as long as there is a demand for it!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ekin-Su turns to Gemma for advice on her relationship with Davide on Tuesday’s (05.07.22) episode of ‘Love Island’.
The 28-year-old actress seeks counsel from the 19-year-old dressage competitor about her on again and off again relationship with the 27-year-old entrepreneur – who is currently back in the main villa as they girls were shipped off to Casa Amor – while admitting she was pranging out about his potential straying.
Ekin-Su said: “Do you think where me and Davide are quite fresh, and quite new, do you think there is a possibility that he would probably explore? Or would he have faith in me? Because I’m starting to overthink. What do you think?”
Gemma – who is the daughter of footballing legend Michael Owen – believes that Davide will “stick with you” because he put his heart on the line to reconcile with her.
She replied: “The thing is Ekin, he’s swallowed his pride a little bit to make things work again. I definitely think he’ll be having conversations, and I definitely think he’ll be flirting but when it comes down to the final point, I would say he would stick with you.”
After taking Gemma’s advice, Ekin admitted: “It’s different when you’ve got that special connection, that spark where you bounce off one another…”
Gemma was not the only girl doling out words of wisdom about their Casa Amor-induced doubts as Danica told Indiyah and Tasha – who are coupled up with Dami and Andrew respectively – they both need to “go with the flow” when it comes to getting to know the new boys.
The 21 -year-old dancer said: “I wouldn’t lie to you, if I didn’t think there was maybe a little vibe for both of you in here. And I think you maybe owe it to yourself to go with the flow a bit.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew and Coco agree to “explore” what they have together on Tuesday’’s (05.07.22) episode of ‘Love Island’.
The pair – who have been getting to know each other since the girls were sent packing to Casa Amor – are allowing things to heat up between the pair on the ITV2 dating show.
The 28-year-old real estate agent – who is currently coupled with 23-year-old model Tasha – told her: “What I have with you is obviously pretty good and I do wanna explore that.”
Coco responded: “I don’t really feel like there’s anyone else. I didn’t expect to get on with you as well as I did to be honest, it actually shocked me.”
“I didn’t expect to get into bed with you and just literally be laughing the entire night. That’s definitely something me and Tasha did not have. I’ve woken up pretty happy to be fair.”
This romantic admission came after the duo shared a couple of kisses – their first being a part of a game of ‘Truth or Dare’ – and agreed to see how things go.
On Monday night (04.07.22), while alone on the terrace, Andrew said to Coco: “I did want to talk to you, as I know we had a chat this morning. You know you are my type and I definitely wanna get to know you more.”
Coco replied: “Cute, why do you wanna get to know me?,” to which Andrew confessed: “I’m not going to lie, you’re a bit of me.”
He moved on, plucking up the courage, saying: “Obviously we had a little kiss down there…”
After Coco said she liked the kiss, Andrew said: “Would you like to do it again, do you reckon?”
She asked: “Do you wanna do it again?,” giving Andrew the green light to go in for another smooch.

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell T Davies says Jodie Whittaker’s final ‘Doctor Who’ episode is “gorgeous with lots of surprises”.
The 59-year-old writer is returning next year to oversee the show’s 60th anniversary while his predecessor Chris Chibnall will still be in charge for the 13th Doctor’s final episode later this year, and Davies revealed he has already seen their farewell before he takes over with Ncuti Gatwa in the TARDIS.
Asked for new details about his anniversary specials during an appearance on BBC’s ‘The One Show’, he joked: “Has anyone ever come on The One Show and given away a spoiler?
“I can’t say, honestly, because what is coming up in October, this year, is Jodie Whittaker’s farewell. So, I feel like I’m upstaging it slightly.
“Love Jodie, and I just saw the finished version of that two days ago. It’s a 90-minute epic, it’s fantastic. So, that is gorgeous with lots of surprises and I’m going quiet!”
The showrunner – whose first stint in charge was from 2005 to 2010 – recently teased the shock comebacks for both Catherine Tate and David Tennant, and proposed some different scenarios for the 10th Doctor’s reason for returning.
He pondered: “A mysteriously forgotten excursion for the TARDIS in between Planet of the Ood and Sontaran Stratagem?
“Or maybe a multiverse thing, they’re all the rage these days. Maybe this is the Doctor and Donna [Catherine Tate] from Universe 557, all set to collide with our own.
“Then again, maybe, just maybe, this return is so impossible that it’s actually an intricate illusion created by an old enemy of the Doctor’s. Or maybe an old enemy of Donna’s. Nerys!
“Of course, I wouldn’t give that away in the pages of [Doctor Who Magazine], would I? But then again. This magazine is the first place I ever revealed the name of Billie Piper’s Rose (in issue 340). So read carefully. There are truths in here.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanni Pernice thinks he’s more qualified for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judging panel than Anton Du Beke.
The latest professional winner of the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition – who scooped up the Glitterball trophy with ‘EastEnders’ star Rose Ayling-Ellis – joked that he had a better track record than the new judge. who worked on the show for 18 years before slipping into the role left by Bruno Tonioli.
The 31-year-old dancer told the ‘Dish’ podcast hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett: “I’m the professional dancer. I think he’s been in the final once in eighteen years – so that’s, a good record for him.
“He’s never won Strictly, and I’ve been in the final five times. Just in seven years.”
Giovanni – who has been partnered with celebs such as ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Michelle Visage, ‘Coronation Street’ actress Georgia May Foote and ‘Love Island’ presenter Laura Whitmore – praised Anton and how he has “always” supported him throughout his journey on the show as he arrived to the UK from his native Italy without much English and praised the “fun” they have together.
He added: “I couldn’t speak any English and he has always been there for me since the beginning.
“That’s the thing that we talk about when we do the show together – it’s about the fun that he’s never won Strictly.”
Recently, Giovanni unveiled a new tattoo paying homage to the late Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, one his “biggest idols”, along with the message “I’m going to be what I was born to be – a performer” inked next to the depiction of the singer.
In 2020, he gushed about the star – who died from complications from AIDS in 1991 – and his “power”.
Giovanni said: “One of my biggest idols is Freddie Mercury. He could do everything, and he had such power and incredible energy on stage.
“Unfortunately, I never got to see him live. But I watch all the clips of him on YouTube and he is just incredible, honestly. Just unbelievable energy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Whitehouse and Liza Tarbuck are to star in new Channel 4 comedy ‘The Change’.
The series has been created by stand-up comedian Bridget Christie, who will play lead character Linda, a 50-year-old working class married mother of two who is convinced she has early onset dementia after forgetting what a shoe is called, only to find out from her GP that it is the menopause.
With this new information, she dusts off her old Triumph motorbike and heads to the Forest of Dean, south west England, in an attempt to reconnect with the person that she used to be, during which she meets a community of eccentrics, artists, eel fisherwomen, musicians, misfits and the odd bigot.
Liza will star as Siobhain, Linda’s older, domineering sister who takes every opportunity to boss and belittle Linda.
Paul will play pub regular Tony, a man of simple pleasures, born and bred in the Forest, who is rarely challenged on his oudated points of view.
Other stars include ‘Sex Education’ actor Jim Howick, who will play an outspoken guy who DJs at the Forest FM cafe, and ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Jerome Flynn will portray the Pig Man, a self-sufficient, reclusive figure who lives a solitary life in the Forest with only the wild boar for company.
Omid Djalili will appear as Linda’s husband of 25 years, Steve, and Ashley McGuire and Monica Dolan will star as the eccentric Eel sisters.
Motherland’s Tanya Moodie will play local radio station Joy, who helps Linda make sense of the world she’s found herself in.
Filming on The Change’s six, 30-minute episodes has started.

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen was almost the host of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ instead of Tess Daly.
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star opted not to host the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition after her late pal Sir Bruce Forsyth – who hosted the show until 2015 before being replaced by Claudia Winkleman, and passed away in 2017 – recommended her for the job.
The 48-year-old West End star told ‘The Matt Haycox Show’ podcast: “When they first came up with the idea, I was offered ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
“I knew Bruce Forsyth really well. And I’ve done a few shows with him. We used to sing together.
“He [Bruce] came to me and approached me to be sidekick in the new ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
“He said to me, ‘There’s this show, it’s all ballroom, it’s gonna be celebrities’. And he said, ‘I want to open the show with a song and dance with you, and close it with you,’ because he knew that I danced and sang.
“I remember sitting there and I went to him, ‘Bruce, it sounds really boring!’
“So, they gave it to Tess Daly. Then it became a huge hit, and I was thinking, ‘Maybe I was an idiot turning that down.’ ”
Denise reflected on how it had all “worked out” as Tess had “done it so well” and how she had been able to explore many avenues in her showbiz career since turning the job down.
She said: “But, actually, when I look back, Tess has done it so well for many years, but just kind of does that, and she’s associated with it.
“Whereas, I went on to do Broadway, I’ve done film, I’ve done theatre in the West End – I’ve done so many other things.
“And, I wouldn’t have had such a varied career if I’d taken it. So, actually, for me, it worked out.”
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ voice-over star – who has 12-year-old daughter Betsy with her ex Lee Mead – emphasised the need for diversity in her work because of her ADHD, admitting she “gets bored very quickly, so I have to do different things”.
She said: “Variety is the main thing for me, because I have ADHD. So I do get bored very quickly. So, I just like to do different things.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Beckinsale “can’t stop” watching ‘Love Island’.
The ‘Jolt’ star compared watching the ITV2 dating show to a “car crash”, insisting it is hard for her to turn her head away from the chaos.
The 48-year-old actress told the Daily Mail’ newspaper’s Richard Eden while attending the National Film Awards – where she scooped up Best Actress – in London on Tuesday (05.07.22): “It’s like watching a true crime and you can’t stop it. It’s a bit like a car crash.”
But Kate – who is mother to actress Lily, 23, who she shares with her ex, actor Michael Sheen – wouldn’t want to take part in the show herself, and joked she doesn’t think her family would even “let” her appear in any reality shows.
She said: “I have been watching ‘Love Island’ and, before you ask, I don’t want to apply. I haven’t been offered any reality TV gigs and I don’t think my family would let me.”
The ‘Serendipity’ star confessed that “it looks like hell” in the ‘Love Island’ villa, because she isn’t a fan of sharing a swimming pool with strangers.
She said: “It looks like hell and just the worst thing to be on. First off, I don’t like dating, and, second, I don’t like being at a pool with lots of people that I don’t know.”
As well as her liking of ‘Love Island’, US-based Kate – who is the daughter of the late ‘Porridge’ star Richard Beckinsale – also has a penchant for Pot Noodles and other “naff” imports from the UK.
She explained: “Because I live in America, I get excited about slightly naff English things like Love Island and Pot Noodles — so it’s really important to me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Gill will discuss her sexuality when “she is ready”.
The 24-year-old reality star shot to fame when she won hit dating show ‘Love Island’ in 2019 with then-partner Greg O’Shea, but she was recently claimed to have “switched teams” and doesn’t feel the need to say anything else while she is single.
Speaking on the ‘Secure The Insecure’ podcast, she said: “I’ll say what I want to say when I’m ready. There’s no need to speculate, we can all see what I’m saying. When I’m ready to say what I want to say, then I will. I don’t feel like I want to say anything whilst I’m single.
“All this speculation makes it harder for people to want to say how they really feel and talk about their sexuality. Me putting out that tweet, I got anxiety last night … I was only trying to make a light-hearted joke about ‘Love Island’.”
The former beauty therapist was commenting on the current series of the ITV2 reality show – which returned to screens in June and runs until August – where she claimed that men made her “feel sick” following her experience on the series in the Mallorca villa.
She tweeted: “Switching teams was the best decision I made in my life Watching men makes me feel ill. I couldn’t put myself through it again. (sic)”
Amber then tweeted:”If you kiss a girl I will”, before stating: “Why did I get butterflies when I saw that girl and Dami go to the terrace. I need to stop watching this programme?”
She later joked: “Sometimes people call me irrelevant so much that I start to believe. Then I tweet my actual feelings and 25 articles come out!”
